2021-09-15Metamora Courthouse in Metamora, Illinois. Beautiful. Simple. Built in 1845. Still standing. Now serving as an educational museum. Exhibits include 1850’s court system and Lincoln’s life then. The histories of Woodford County during the time prior to, including and after Abraham Lincoln practicing law in this very Courthouse. This is one of only two Courthouses still in existence in Illinois where Lincoln once practiced as a lawyer. Remember, the method of transportation between towns was riding your horse… or horse and buggy.

2017-06-29I love the history that is tied to this place. Our 16th President practiced law here. There are many antique items to look at as well.
