I bought something with a sticker that it was on clearance. They them selves reduced the price. I went to pay for it and they said it was a mistake. The difference was minimal but they basically said either pay the regular price or well refund tge amount. What horrible customer service. The associate was rude and simply walked away. Horrible service
We placed an order for a refrigerator in September. It was finally shipped in December after we were billed for it in November. When it was delivered, which we paid extra for, the delivery driver refused to wear a mask even when provided with one of our new disposable ones we keep at our home. This is the end of December 2021 when the Covid cases were rising daily. They then proceeded to drive off with our purchased refrigerator. Trying to work out with the store now. But I would not recommend having anything delivered.
I went to Menards to get my countertops, sink, patio door, and some floors to be replaced in my house. Andy and Bo helped me through everything. I can’t say enough of how much they helped me. They refuted me to TM Construction and Remodeling and they were AMAZING. I’m an elderly women and these men really helped me and gave me great prices for everything when others wanted to charge me unreasonable prices.
Took me a while to figure out which product was best for patching d cracks on my garage floor I’m glad I took d time to read directions on each one. First one I almost bought was a tube ready to use sorry forgot d name. Second was bag just mix w water then 3rd was a winner RUST-OLEUM concrete patch & repair hope it works.and my visit to Menards was very pleasant .
Alway get good services, things are easy to find and parking is so huge. All around, this is the best place for home improvements in the area. Very easy return procedures even when you loose the receipt...easy, scan your card with the machine that you used to purchase and bamm... you ready to move on. it makes lines shorter :).
They are the only hardware store that doesnt do military discount. Also the tool I had to get is over priced. The tag for it was lower but their system has it for $10 more. Very disappointed they did not fix it at the register. I dont know if this person was in training but they didnt help me at all with how frustrated I was with the whole transaction.
How is it ok to charge someone $119.00 to have an item delivery literally steps away. You have me clear out my day to make sure someone will be home from12-6p and THEN not show up. I lost half a day of work for this. I understand covid has made everything delayed. Well then maybe you should have took that into consideration and schedule one delivery per day. I knew there was a reason I prefer home depot
Horrible service wasted 30 minutes waiting for someone to help me. Asked 3 different ppl nobody helped at all. I wanted some wood cut the guy proceeded to tell me “you can cut it in the saw in the back yourself” Like excuse me that’s dangerous and I’m not even over 18. Left extremely mad take your money to Home Depot I went there and extremely good service they cut my wood in 10 minutes very nice HELPFUL staff at Home Depot unlike menards lol.
This MENARDS Hanover Park, IL store #3253 Outstanding. Menards is my favorite store for home improvement and many other items. Menards is the only home-improvement store I shop at!This particular Menards in Hanover Park is outstanding customer service, superb customer service!Each time I go there every cashier literally stands with a smile and great attitude and it speaks “ I am proud to work for Menards”.I was in the store for an hour and a half and 4 employees came up to me to ask if there was something they could help me with, or look for?When I check out the cashiers are amazing. I have mentioned it several times to the front and managers, and have finally decided to write these reviews because so often people take the time to complain about one service and attitude, and don’t realize the importance of commending these things as well we have to take the time and energy to put this positive out there rather than take the time and energy to put negative out there is so many people do.Many thanks go out to:: Store manager BO, SHENIETHA AND Cashier Sheila and all the other individuals customer service representatives cashiers maintenance that whole store deserves lots of pats on the back’s and lots of compliments from upper management keep up the good work!!Thank you to you all!!!From a satisfied customer who does notice ALL THE GOOD!!
Over all the store is clean and usually well stocked. Unfortunately due to the current times Im assuming is the reason the shelves arent stocked like usual. Every once in a while Ill run into a staff member that does not do their job to the fullest potential. In my case it was a younger one. With a little persistence, I was able to get the employee to locate the item I was looking for.Update 11/5/2020Visited the store and was really appalled at the state of the restrooms. 3 of the stalls had various amounts of feces on the sides of the toilet and surrounding walls. I cant believe the type of patrons visiting the store. No pride and respect. I am sure they wouldnt do that in their own homes and absolutely no reason for them to have such sordid behavior. Unfortunately they cant be named and shamed. Hopefully the business can find a solution to deal with the sick patrons.
I’ve never felt so disrespected before in my life. I am a general contractor who has shopped at Menards for many years and today I went to pick an order that I purchased yesterday. Don S, an employee at the building materials desk Wrote up a materials order for me that was incorrect from what I originally requested so when I went to pick up the material the following day I grabbed the original quantity that I thought I had paid for. Turned out to be more pieces per box Than I was told by the employee at the building material desk. Which resulted in loss prevention accusing me of trying to steal material when in fact I was only collecting the material that I thought I had already purchased. I tried to explain multiple times to the employees the misunderstanding that had occurred & they still chose to involve the police. When it was their employee who made mistake. I am extremely disappointed with the service provided today from both the menards staff & loss preventions. I feel assaulted & will no longer be shopping at this location. Management here needs to get some guys with the proper training at building materials. This screw up almost cost me my freedom. I was going to be charged for a crime that was not committed all because an employee could not perform his job correctly from the start.
As an interior designer, I spend a lot of time at Home Depot. Being from the south, I was never really familiar with Menards, even though I knew that they were a competitor in the area. Just went to this one for the first time, because Home Depot happened to be out of the color of paint that I needed. I could not be more impressed with the experience. All of the employees were super friendly and helpful (especially Amy at checkout), the product selection was awesome, and the prices were even better. Added bonus that I can even get my groceries there. Definitely now Menards customer for life.
Truck rental is a pain. They charge $5 more on the weekends and take forever to handover the keys and to close the transaction. It took more time to complete the paper work than the time I used the truck for. Home depot is cheaper and far better. These guys are total rip off.
Never rent a truck from these guys they are scammers they try to pin something on you just because they dont do a proper inspection and charge for being over the time even though its their fault. They give you attitude when you try to prove them wrong very poor customer service. I wish I could give 0 stars!
Place is huge, meaning you can find everything you need. Lumber area is under 2 huge warehouses in back, kinda hidden but worth using it - a ton of selection youd miss if wandering inside the store. And dont forget their 11% rebate they offer every now and then - best to wait on your big projects $$$ savings
I ran in the garden department at 8:30 tonight and asked a sweet young man if he would load up 6 50 lb bags of play sand while I ran across the store to get some other things. I grabbed what I needed, was greeted by 4 extremely friendly floor people and got back to the checkout where my sand waited . The lovely Natalie was having a delightful exchange with the customer in front of me and my car was loaded while I checked out. I hate the sales tax thingy but Mr. Manager, your staff is amazing!
Had to go to Home Depot for soaker hoses because both the Hanover Park and Long Grove Menards stores have been out of stock for the last two months and it doesnt look like they have any intention of restocking. Oh. And their landscaping and vegetable plants all look like theyre half dead.
First of all I just want to say this has got to be the most traumatizing experience weve ever had! Bought material a day before and picked up material the very next day. (The employee who rang us up was nice and also got a printed recipe so there was no problem the day of pick up). Long story short the employee had absolutely no idea what he was doing and didnt charge us for all the material we needed. Loss prevention got involved and accused us of stealing and called the police, thank goodness we got it all cleared up or else we wouldve gotten arrest for an employee who clearly didnt have a clue what he was doing. The latina lady in loss prevention needs to be retrained as well as the rest of their employees on how to do their jobs correctly. This is unacceptable Menards!
This Menards has been such a pleasure to visit. I recently bought a home and have naturally made Menards my second home. Time after time Im able to find what I need or get a helpful employee to assist me if Im turned around. I went for a van rental two days ago and the gentleman at the help desk (I think his name was Joe) was extremely friendly and helpful, we needed to wait for another employee to check out the vehicle with us ( front end manager?) and he made conversation with us as we waited while greeting everyone that entered the store in a welcoming way. Once the manager arrived, she was also very helpful and they made our visit super comfortable. Definitely recommend stopping by Menards for any home improvement needs
Im rating this store against other Menards stores in the area. Home improvement stores are not exactly known for prompt customer service so, Im trying to be fair.Customer service aside, this is a pretty decent store! Its huge and well stocked. I dont shop for building materials on a regular basis, but I do shop here often for tools, parts, pet supplies and dyi stuff. Their app is pretty useful to use before you even enter the store. The app can show you where the item youre shopping for is located, much like the Target app. Pretty cool.Ok.. customer service....Most of the employees are helpful, but scarce. Some will take you to what youre looking for.... others point...some wont even look away from what their doing while youre talking to them. Youll find this at any store, pretty much. Cest la vie!
Recently moved to Streamwood so this is now the closest store to my house. Today I decided to to purchase a snowblower. The snowblowers were stacked two boxes high and there weren’t any employees nearby to help so I just brought the 209 lb box myself. I got to the register and when the kid rang me up it showed as 749.99 not 649.99. I told him and he called his manager and she called another manager (Mike) who came by and told me I grabbed the wrong snowblower. I told him where I grabbed it and that one of them employees put it in the wing spot. I even told him to check the cameras. He refused and said he’s not going to honor it.This is the first time being denied of being honored on pricing.Horrible service. The employees don’t even know what location or department things are at.
I applied for a job some years ago while I was taking care of my sick dad. I inquired many times if I could be hired. The human resources woman was obviously reluctant to hire me because I was old. Recently a friend of mine went to have a propane tank filled. 2 days later he turned it on, and it erupted in a fireball of flame and smoke. Menards is a good corporation, but the store in Hanover Park Illinois, is a disaster. Home Depot is better.
This is the only home improvement store I like more than Home Depot. Their prices are really low, especially with their 11% off mail in rebates they frequently do throughout the year. Also a great place for the bird lovers out there for your bird feed and bird watching supplies. very fair return policy and I love that theyve got their receipts machine right up front inside their stores so if you lost your receipt you can easily pull it up
Staff are great, they must get tired of, “hey, can you tell me where is..”. I have found myself walking the store searching for stuff myself, it takes some experience to know where everything is and not waste time. I am here what feels like all the time. No complaints.
I have met the rudest 2 men in the world today! I was heading to the entrance with my 6 years old and I was about 30ft away. Then an older man with eyeglasses was waving to me and telling me No, no,no. I wasnt sure what was going on. I came a little closer and the man was pointing to a sign that was right on the entrance door which I couldnt see. Then yelled at me NO KIDS. As soon as I heard I didnt try to get in. I let the man know that it would have been nice if it was on their website, so I didnt have to go there. Then there was a bald tall guy in a red vest who shushed me and told me to go away.I checked the website before I leave the house and there was no caution about age restriction. That age restriction is not a problem for me. Those guys irritated me and handled the situation all wrong. Yelling to a customer, telling me to go away when my kid is right next to me! I bit my tongue and left the store. Drove to a HomeDepot only 1 mile away and they had my business. And if they are really caring about this Pandemic issue, why let people in who are not wearing masks? Its May 1st and governor already issued that people must wear masks in public. Teach this rude people how to treat a human! Never ever going there again!
I usually get everything I need from here and the staff is friendly. This time, they just didnt have the replacement parts needed for my light fixture on the ceiling fan I bought from them. Also, their flower selection and hardiness is not as good as other places I went when shopping a month or so ago. Many plants they had were already dying!
This place is huge! with a great selection. They pretty much have anything you might be looking for. their lawn and garden area is really well stocked. the lumber yard is great as well. They offer some pretty good deals so take a look out for coupons and rebates being offered. the staff is friendly and always willing to help and they know what they are talking about.
Im not sure how they have all these 5 star reviews cause their customer service is awful. Management team needs to have a sense of ownership and have more empathy for customers. I bought a washer there and I was told Id getting 11% back in the mail as a rebate. I never had done any rebates before so I wasnt sure how to go about that so I asked and I was told I was just going to get a check for it and didnt need to do anything. I patiently waited 2 month and nothing. When I finally decided to make a phone call to see what had happened, I spoke to several people including managers just to hear that I was out of luck cause I never sent in the form. Whats even worse is that one of the managers called me a lier when I said that they had told me that I did not have to do anything and Id be just getting the rebate in the mail. Very stressful and disappointing experience so I definitely wont go be going back.
Its a shame I have to give this store a negative review. This used to be my go to store for any house item repairs, even though I had a Home Depot closer to my house. Spent close to a grand in material with the ultimate goal of redoing my deck. I was able to rent a pick up truck and I was able to transport it for the first two trips (40 boards total). Eventually, I ran out of wood and had to back to the store. This time only bought 5 boards, but when it came time to rent a truck again they would not allow me to do it. The young lady over the counter said that the boards I was planning on transporting were too long . I was in disbelief since I was able to pick up the same boards last week. So, I asked to speak with a manager. Matt, the manager, came to talk me. Well, Matt hardly listened to my issue and offered no solution whatsoever. In fact, I was the one looking for a solution, but this manager did not seem to care. I ended renting a truck from Home Depot. So, if you ever need to transport long boards DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME! Go to Home Depot where they assist you with all your needs. Wont spend a single dollar at this store ever again.
The staff have always been friendly and helpful, but I cannot trust their product. I purchased an inexpensive headset for my PC from them. The packaging was removed, as were all the audio adapters it claimed to have. When I came back to exchange it, I discovered that all of the boxes were ripped open or the anti-theft seals cut, and adapters pulled from all of those headsets. Loss prevention is nonexistent or not paying attention.
I saw a specific item on line, but could not find it in the store even though the website said there were 6 of the item at that store. I snagged an employee to help locate the item. It took several minutes, but the item was located and you had to get a ladder since it was stocked way up on the highest shelf. Successful trip, just took longer than expected.
There was a rebate on 3 items we purchased. When I asked the Customer Service about it the rebate forms, I was told I must have grabbed the tees from the wrong bin - the tees I had did not offer a rebate. All the tees in the whole display were the rebated ones. I am not unintelligent nor am I ignorant and I dont appreciate being treat like I am.
Streamwood Menards parking lot is dark as a cave. all you need to work there is a pulse.waited 10 minutes at the lumber desk for a person any person to come up to fill out a ticket so I can pick something up in the yard. Overall awful experience to save 50 cents. all my reviews are five stars, except an occasional four congratulations Menards youre the winner!
I went to Menards to pickup an online order. In order to take it home I first rented the Menards truck. I took the truck around to the back of the store where order pickup is located. I had ordered 2 propacks of base board molding and there were none just a bunch of loose boards in the propack slot.I would not recommend Menards for online orders.
This store is amazing. It is one of the best organized and orderly hardware stores ever. Even the most cluttered areas (think nuts and bolts) look like the store just had their grand opening.It is large and every department has an amazing array of products and selections. Its the only place I go and probably why the Home Depot down the street is a ghost town and why the Loews across from the HD closed after only 3 years.
Im not a big fan of wearing the masks... BUT Ill wear it when I have to for the people that like to tell me I have do have one on. Theyre very rude about it here though. Even If you pull it down a little cause its tickling your nose someone pops out from the duct tape shelf and feels the need to yell at you SIR YOU need to have a mask on Menards then when they see the look on my face they laugh and blame management !! I think some of these dorky 20 year olds love having something to enforce .. Other then their 11 year old siblings from going in their rooms at home. Im in there 3-5 times a week and they still have thr loss prevention girl looming behind me and its getting very annoying. Not a fan of this store. Home Depot in the future
Rented a rug doctor pro from you guys and this machine doesnt work and I call and your customer service representative and she tells me to come in at 755 knowing dang well im coming from elgin, she hangs up on me now im stuck with a broken machine.... and out of the rental fee that I paid for this machine... unsatisfied ill be calling corporate tomorrow to get a full refund on this and I will no longer buy or rent from you guys again
Pleasant Black Friday Shopping? Its not impossible after all. All the employees knew where every item was located, not just the ones in their department. Yes there were long lines. Helpful smiling staff directed you to the shortest line at the time and coordinated with other staff to send people from other longer lines. All but one item was in stock 2 hours in to their sale. But my favorite part, they honor their employees and allow them to spend ALL of Thanksgiving with their families by opening only on Black Friday. No wonder their staff are friendly.
In terms of home improvement chains I have to say that Menards tops them all in terms of customer service, cleanliness, selection and much more. I dont want to sound like an ad for them(and i do quite frankly). But they are my favorite home improvement store so far. God bless you guys.

2022-05-20Im with my wife when we came to this place. We want to buy a couch and table for our living room. Since the living room was not big at all we wanted to buy couches with a nice and small size. I use our pick up car (ford) so our couches will be put at the back or car. When we came here its easy to park our car since there are lot of vacant space to park. There are also free customers inside. We went to the furniture section. My wife started to choose a couch. We decided to choose a brown couch. It was a little bit cheaper compared to other stores that we went to. It has a table on it, a glass table. We also buy frames for our living room. I highly recommend this place. You can come here.

2022-05-25Everyone here was SO helpful. This place is huge and has everything you need but it can be overwhelming if you dont know the entire layout of the store. Three different employees helped me located all of the items on our list and were super friendly and kind. 10/10 service. Would definitely come here for all of your household and garden needs.

2022-02-14Dont shop over there I drove to manards to buy a vacuum bag the website stated the bag have 6 bags the store stated it have 3 bags we talked to a worker working there his name is ART he said he is the manager he said its a mistake he cant honor the price at manards website we said okay I know you can match the price with homedepot he said yes we do that I did show him the same exact item he said it doesnt have the same item number I think he have a problem with something am really disappointed with that

2022-05-08Who doesnt love Menards?? Shelves and displays were clean and well organized. Employess were actively cleaning and straightening products. I will shop here again. All of the staff I encountered were very polite.

2022-07-04Today’s shift cashier Santina was pretty rude, We asked about a price of an item and We decided to don’t take it and asked us to “throw the item under the desk”, We went back to the fireworks area to check the price and CC stopped us calling the manager or person in charge on that shift, We mentioned the name of the cashier and described her to the manager which her answer was “ I don’t know who you are talking about” here is a huge lack of training under a management position, since all companies have a business continuity plan and make sure that plan is working, so If a manager doesn’t know which workers are in the site how this plan is being verified? I would say a huge GAP under a crisis protection for the workers when the manager “doesn’t know who We are talking about”

2022-05-27Had closet door delivered person delivered door started arguing with my 80-year-old mom that he would not bring it to the basement. I called Menards to talk to the delivery manager to explain the situation, and he started arguing with me. I was transferred to the general manager, who didn’t care, so I requested delivery to Be returned. I was disconnected and never called back now I have to start all over. Where is the customer service?Update someone from Menards came and brought it to the basement.
