Meijer in other cities:
Ruined Christmas for me!Their inventory system is not updated and they wouldnt honor their online prices. The item shows available at the store, I placed my order for pick up at a very good price. Next morning they called me to say that item is no longer available. Called different store and its available but they cant change location of my pick up from one store to another. They also wouldnt honor the price for my order.I was hoping for some help and understanding, I was almost sure it would be resolved. However, their policy is not customer oriented.Thank you for ruining my Christmas gift!
Love the newer self scan feature on the Meijer app. Scan your items as you shop, go to the self check out and finish up with an employee verifying items. Love that it also shows what items have coupons available as you scan to clip and save. Its so much faster and like the rest of the world, this location is short on employees for checkout so skip the long lines!
Id give you zero stars, but it wont accept my comment if I do. So you get one you dont deserve. Your workers are helpful and good - your management is pitiful POOR. This Saturday morning 1/8, the lines were totally unacceptable. If you cannot manage to process your customers on a busy morning, then I cannot give you my business or (what businesses NEVER understand) MY TIME. Hire more checkers for Saturday mornings! Pay them better - you can keep your self-checker dream, but ALSO you need some human checkers. Those lines were ridiculous! Where were the managers? Hiding in the back room??
Shame on you! Noon on a Saturday and only 3 full service lines open. All backed up in the clothing department. Literally took us as much time to check out as it did to do our weekly shopping. If you think expanding self-checkout is the answer, you better reassess. Checked out at Woodmans across the street with zero issues.Use up the rest of our M-Perks then see if anything improves....
Went online to look for Chip Ahoy fat reducer cookies. They website indicated that they had the cookies. Got to the store there was none there. Went to customer service and show them my phone that is said that they store has some. The customer service clerk said the date online service is not up to date. I said thats pretty bad since I drove a 30 minutes out of my way to get these cookies. Because theres no one in my area had them.
My husband and I have a new home, finding new lighting is somewhat of a challenge. While looking for lamps, last straw. We came upon a really nice 1 at Meijer in Bloomindale. Unfortunately their were none on the shelves, only the 1 on display and because it was not a discontinued item it could not be sold according to Leap a shift manager, we understand. My husband works in Logistics, we get it.Leap asked us for our information and would follow up with us when they had one on their trucks, it was going to be a couple of days. That works. Unfortunately their was none on the truck. Leap texted with each truck that came in with no luck. After approximately 2 weeks of waiting the Elgin Store had one. Not sure if he picked it up himself or how he had it brought over. But we now have our lamp and we LOVE it!!This is the type of customer service that is few and far between nowadays.Leap went over and above for his customers and we are now officially new customers of Meijers. I try not to be a Amazon shopper. I like the visual of getting my shopping done and seeing faces at the store.Thank you,Eva Amador
Meijer has great prices and has the brands I am looking for. However, management is very bad. There are very few cashiers on busy weekends. Also, shelves are always empty. I often go in with my grocery list, only to discover that 2/3 of the items are out of stock. When I went there this previous Saturday, the coffee was mostly empty. Almost all the coffee on sale was out of stock. No one was restocking anything. When I went to the clothing department, there was a elderly customer in dire need of help. There were no employees around to help. While the prices are nice, good luck finding anything on the shelf.
So I ask about a product. Online for Meijer I see it one price and when I check out I see it another. I was thinking I needed to maybe add the perks number or whatever the rewards program is. I do and it says its no-good. Ok. No problem. So I ask an associate about the price difference. The exact quote is Sometimes the price online is different than in store. Its obviously different but why? If I were doing pick up it would have been less (plus expensive pick up charge). Thanks for the explanation. The chat bots are horrible too. No one to have the question answered.I think Im done with Meijer. I hate asking them anything here because their answers are horrible. How hard is it to get a Customer an answer?
I love Meijer but this location has gotten worse as the years have gone by. Regardless of what time or day I go, there is always some thing that is out of stock. When checkout lines are long, why they dont open a new register? Then there is the expired food. I always find something that is moldy or very expired. Lastly, customer service line is always so slow. Why does it take 10 minutes to serve each customer? The store employees do not work efficiently and its frustrating.
First when I walk in to get a cart, there dirty or have paper in them. 🤢🤢🤢. Once I start my shopping, if Im not trying to avoid people with no mask on. 😷😷😷!! I get my things but the rest are out of stock, again. 😡😡😡. Once I get in line because there are 3 register open and the self checkout is even longer 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀. I will not be shopping here.
Great assortment of products and really good prices! Weve been shopping here since it opened and it has done nothing but improve over time! The most recent remodel has improved the apparel section and the quality in the food departments has never been better! The produce is steadily top notch above stores that specialize in that one area and they do it while doing everything else well at the same time! The employees are friendly almost without exception 99% of the time! We are greeted as we enter the store and throughout the store and the employees are friendly, helpful and outgoing! There are lots of choices in the Chicago area to do your grocery shopping and there are 5 stores closer to our house than Meijer but Meijer is worth passing those stores up!!
Stopped by after work because a coworker told me they had a really great clearance on toys for boys(I adopt a family for Christmas). They were out of what she bought that I wanted. So I picked a set of pants instead because they were also on sale. My outfit was soo cute I got profiled for my first visit by a bald rent-a-cop. First and last time shopping there. Thank you for the reminder that no matter how many degrees I have and how great my job is Im still a minority.
This is my normal go to place for most of the things I need. I am noticing that recently a lot of things are becoming out of stock(grocery), especially the sale items. So they are either not buying enough stock, or not restocking it when it is gone. Either way- super frustrating.Pharmacy is excellent, I never have a problem.Check out is sometimes slow, one time I was there 20 minutes (not exaggerating) for the woman to check me out, so do self when you can can.Fitting rooms are still closed. And also, be very aware of clearance. I once bought items that were “50% off red sticker clearance” so I got a couple items to learn at checkout that they didn’t count because the tag was ‘dark pink’ not red. Honestly you couldn’t tell the difference. Also you have to check you receipt because a lot of things do NOT ring up what it says in the aisle. Why do I still go here? Cheaper then Target and less crowded then Walmart I guess.
First time at this store - I live an hour away and was in the area helping a relative and stopped on my way home. Unfortunately I was shorted a bag of groceries which I discovered after driving home. This after specifically asking the cashier if all my bags were in my cart and not in the carousel. She said yes. Once home I found that I was missing a bag of groceries ($21.90 worth). Called the number on receipt - was on hold for ten minutes and then got Grand Rapids where an operator said they would transfer me. More music and then dead air while the call continued. After 20 more minutes I hung up. Tried FB messaging and the response bot told me it was sorry that I had a bad experience with delivery and to come back to the store for assistance - it wasnt delivery (which was specifically stated in the communication) and, even if it was, why would a customer come to the store having had groceries delivered. Bot. Tried the contact us form. Why cant a customer call a specific store to remedy a specific issue? Disppointing - first that it happened, but then that I couldnt even get ahold of someone in the store.
Has everything you need in a grocery store, and with the app you can check out fast. Even without it, the self check is often speedy.I do all kinds of shopping here, school supplies, groceries, electronic accessories, decorations, most anything youd need on a typical day theyve got. Prices are pretty reasonable as well, and clothes are rather nice looking where some clothes at similar grocery type stores tend not to be the most fashionable.
Great store, clean and decently staffed. Product selection is wide for groceries and general goods. Small auto section for emergency purchases same goes for the electronics section. Decent home decor section, and general goods. quick cashier lines never waited more than 10 min to complete my run.
Worst customer service of any grocery store in the area. There could be 30 people ready to check out and there are only 2 check out lanes open! When you ask for assistance, youre ignored or lied to saying they will open another. Its 2 days before Thanksgiving and its going to take an hour but to get through the check out line. Youd think with the new Woodmans across the street they would try harder to please their dwindling customer base.
I was disappointed with Meijer. When I checked out two of the things I purchased didnt ring up as on sale. They rang up the full price. I had to tell the Meijers cashier to correct the error. I think thats terrible. I went to Meijers particularly for sale items. If I didnt watch when the items are scanned I would have been paying the full price. You have to watch when you check out.. dont take anything for granted. Thats not good customer service.
Service has drastically gone down hill. Always do shop and scan so I get little to no interaction from your employees. Then I get to deal with the super rude ones you assign to self checkout. More than often I get snarky remarks and attitude. They know they have people on all registers and its like they deliberately go out of their way to avoid us when the lights go red that we need help. Defeats the purpose of shop and scan when you have to wait on them to finish a conversation elsewhere.Only giving two stars because you have a newer younger employee (at self check out) whos constantly moving willingly to assist customers. Even apologizes when he takes a while longer with someone else, which no on ever does.
Its a nice place to go shopping for they have almost everything! The staff especially the butcher in the Meat Dept are very friendly and helpful, and I dont get this kind of service/attitude from other groceries. The store is very clean. Everything is Excellent except for the washroom, its dirty and stinks for no one is attending on it!
I like this store seems cleaner and more organized than others Ive been to.....except for when I went to return a few outfits my daughter recieved for her birthday that did not fit, a black woman was working customer service and when I told her I needed to return or exchange she asked for the receipt, which one was not given to me. So, she asked, then how did u pay for it? I said, I didnt it was a gift..... I thought it was a bit unprofessional. Ill try and avoid her next time
Very clean, orderly & spacious. I was told that theyve widened the aisles in order to ease the customers ability to remain socially distanced whilst shopping, which is great. You can definitely tell the difference between this location and a Wal-mart or even a Target; the variety & inventory here at Meijer is extremely impressive. 10/10, definitely recommend!
First of all- this place is sick. Prices are so low they be off da chain. And the whole building is cleeeeeeeeeean. I dropped my ice cream on the floor, bent down, picked it up, and gave it a few more licks and it didnt taste any different. A few days after I got sick and ran to the pharmacy and it had completely been renovated. These people are slick! I grabbed a few pills and was feeling as good as new. Gotta get a few food items? Bam! Your neighborhood Meijer has you covered. Theyve got tons of cereal, vegetables, condiments and juices. The staff is solid and Ive never had a problem with anyone.
Went looking for the Meijer brand malted pancake and waffle mix, out of stock until tomorrow afternoon ?Also was looking for normal (not wheat) low salt saltine crackers, all that they have in stock is wheat saltines.. and no idea when those are going to be back in stock.
Horrible horrible store. FYI they are being investigated by the state of Illinois for discrimination against WIC and LINK customers. Their employees feel like they can talk down to these types of customers any which way they want. I can’t wait until a customer smacks some respect into one of them. Don’t patronize this place because you are helping them discriminate against poor people.
I like Meijer and have been shopping there for 20 plus years. One thing that is not my favorite is that they sometimes move items around the store, which I understand from the sales perspective. Also, I recommend reading Mr. Meijer’s book. It shows how hard work and dedication pays off.
I went to return blueberry bagels I bought yesterday. They said I could exchange or get my money back, I chose exchange my kid wanted the bagels. I grabbed couple more took them to customer services told them they had mold on them the lady told me that it wasnt mold thats just the color of the fruit. Blew my mind I had never seen green blueberries.
The bakery boasts a wide array of bread for me to feed the ducks. The ducks are very fond of the time I spend feeding them. This bring the ducks happiness. This store brings ducks happiness and nourishment. This store is friend of bird and man alike. Jane on the cash register knows this. She knows how birds will save Meijer as a corporation. She knows birds are the future. It is the only way.
My father and I were at the Meijer store in bloomdale Illinois and two customers were not wearing face masks, using the handicap carts normally used for the elderly and got up in my father and I s faces almost assaulting my father and I. I dont feel safe in going to this Meijer store anymore

2022-06-15After hours of searching and driving to several stores (including another Meijer) around town in search of the perfect last minute cake for my girlfriend I began to feel defeated. However, I was determined and decided to give this Meijer in Bloomingdale (Store #198) a shot and Im so glad that I did. As soon as I went to the Bakery I was quickly greeted by Jessica and I explained to her that I needed a specific cake and needed it quickly. To my surprise she was able to design and create a fresh cake with the help of Edy who decorated the cake beautifully. Jessica and Edy were so accommodating and created an amazing cake for my girlfriend in less than 30 minutes. My girlfriend and her family were so impressed and I cant thank Jessica and Edy enough for their help. I highly recommend this Meijer store for all of your baking needs.

2022-01-31Extremely unimpressed. Meat was marked buy 1 get 50% off, all the meat in that area was marked 20% off. Cashier couldnt do both. Asked for manager, was pointed to another employee who was walking by. Showed here a pic of the display, only to find out she wasnt even a manager. Was told the manager was in a meeting, and couldnt be disturbed.False advertising! Do not reccomend to anyone

2022-04-30Get the app clip your coupons! They will give you $ for shopping with them. You spent more at this store than u planned but it’s got everything. Usually have stuff in stock clean and helpful staff. But check your receipt.

2022-03-30Doug, who is in charge of pick up went above and beyond for me. This is such a rare occurrence, normally employees act as if you’re bothering them when you have questions or an issue. Doug didn’t make me feel like I was a bother at all, he was accommodating and extremely friendly. I don’t post reviews very often, but I just had to give Doug a shout out!

2022-04-13The prices are decent (though they have increased significantly since covid started), and in store they have a lot of variety. But the curbside delivery has been average at best. The people who bring the orders out are great, but product availability is suspiciously poor compared to what you can get in the store, and they often give the wtong items or mis-price things.Regardless, if you use curbside, please consider tipping. They only make $13 per hour.

2022-06-07Went looking for a hand soap called Mrs Meyers it was not stored with all the other soap which I find astonishing. I had a young lady that was working there help me and it was found all the way on the other side in the home section not around any other soap Meyers I think you need to straighten that out. I found the store to be clean until I got up in line to cash out the lady in front of me I had found out had dropped her Pringles can that was open and she dropped chips all over and art the cashier came around the other side and swept it all up right away he was very helpful a great employee you need more employees like that.

2022-06-11Clean store, helpful staff from price point of view its better than target but more expensive than Walmart. Bakery is the best, the cakes are always so fresh.

2022-04-18Its a warehouse store. They all look similar. Big unfinished ceilings, annoying lights. Long ailes to keep you there longer and a lay out that makes it dirty to the eyes. But they normally have what the other stores do not or are out of at the time so I go there for that reason. Its got the same vibe as a Walmart but bigger and slightly cleaner feeling but still on that dirty like perspective.

2022-06-07Ive honestly had it with Meijer. Too many instances where they are selling expired food. Crackers - old and stale, Beef Jerky - hard and crumbly, Fully cooked bacon - sour (how is that even possible?). I can go on and on, Yet... somehow the date on the package doesnt reflect that it is expired... interesting! Nevertheless, this is all while they have DOUBLED their prices on EVERYTHING and always has a shortage on something. And this location does this, will all the competition in the area. There is literally every competitor store within a mile from there (Woodmans, Walmart, Target, Jewell, Aldis, Marianos, Tonys, Caputos, etc.) GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER MEJIER!!
