Marianos in other cities:
I bought some flowers February 13th and by the time I woke up on the 14th the were all dead. I called and the woman said I could exchange them. So I went to the store picked some new flowers and told her who I was. The lady asked me where I got the flowers from, I told her from the front, she sighed, sorry for the inconvenience that your flowers can’t even last one day. The new flowers that I picked were $31 where the original was $35. She didn’t know what to do because the price was cheaper. It was taking forever. I was so sick of it that I said just keep my extra four bucks. I’ve bought flowers before here so I don’t know what the problem is but I’ll never buy them here again
So disappointed in this store. They are not enforcing the Illinois mask mandate AT ALL. About 40 customers were in the store when I was there today, 8 completely unmasked, no together, but gathering in one checkout lane blocking the rest of us from safe passage to the self checkout. Two of them had open alcohol. Not one store employee said anything about the lack of masks or the open alcohol. I wont be back. The Hoffman Estates store can take my money just fine and is much safer.
Best soup, salad and hot food bar. Scaled back from February/March 2020 yet still good.Addition of the smoke house products was great. This location has Vero, not Seattles over roasted bean juice. Much preferred over the Seattle stuff.Grilling your butcher shop purchase while you get the rest of your shopping done is great. This store is a little out of my way but worth the effort.
I love Marianos supermarkets. They have everything you can think of. Prices can sometimes be a little more than youd expect but the quality is usually pretty good. I go to the one in Wheaton mostly but occasionally I stopped at the Bloomingdale one on my way to my brother to pick up some stuff at this location.
Review is just for the juice/smoothie place. came in after waiting weeks for the juicer to get fixed.. they finally got it fixed and I stopped by, awesome gentleman helped us out and got us our drinks within 10mins. 5 stars for you!The next day I came in around 10am and the two ladies working the shop looked at me as if they didn’t know they serve juice..Soon after, they told me I’d have to wait over an hour for the same juices because they were making orange juice for the store, and that was priority. All good, but I wish I was told that in the beginning and not after paying, then getting attitude for asking nicely when is a good time to come in for drinks..
Usually the deli has fresh food and I got some premade grab & go of three sandwiches since we were driving and had no time to stop and eat. The deli clerk was stressing that we heat our sandwiches but we dont like hot tomatoes, lettuce, or mayonnaise. We learned why she recommended to have it heated as the cheese and bread is hard like plastic or those fake display foods you see in Japanese restaurants but heating cant help the toughness of the bread. The onions were old that is had that over ripe tangy odor and taste like you find at a hotdog stand. The tomatoes and lettuce were bad condition too. The fats in the meats were breaking down to grease or oil in one of the sandwiches.I should have just gone to Subway the around the corner or the gas station across the street but we wanted a healthy and high quality sandwiches but got three over priced & below gas station quality sandwiches that were tossed to the animals to eat.No shop well, eat well, live well at this Marianos deli which needs to check the shelf time of their sandwiches and rotate them with fresher made ones.I will be calling customer service as what we did eat is making us ill.
My family loves this store. They have amazing self-serve bars, from soups and olives. There feels like there is always a large variety of fresh food here! If we lived closer this would be our go-to grocery store, but for now we just have to remember to stop by and get some nice Wild Rice Chicken Soup wheb we are in the area.
I shopped here last night at around 8pm. First I noticed that they were removing fresh produce from displays — while I was trying to decide which grapes to buy. If I hadn’t grabbed a bag they would have left me standing in front of an empty display case and thought nothing of it!Then to the checkout… only one cashier (half dozen shoppers in line) and one of the four self checkout kiosks was down. The clerk overseeing the self check out appeared to be half asleep. This was Saturday night in a holiday weekend — so maybe it’s a labor shortage? Where is management to try to deal with these type situations as they’re happening?? Or to apologize to shoppers??Give me my Mariano’s in Bucktown any day!
Great selection of fresh food items, and WONDERFUL employees that go above and beyond to help customers out when needed.... unfortunately, that’s where the good ends and bad begins. I had the mispleasure of seeing store director Steve Cooley (you’d know who he was based on the sign at the entrance walking in) speaking very condescendingly and rudely towards a few of his minority employees. I thought nothing of it until I zoned in on him while conversing with white employees, and to my surprise his demeanor completely changed! Every. Single. Time. Absolutely disgusting. I wouldn’t be surprised if a few other customers had already complained about this before, but since I haven’t seen it in a review for here, I felt an urgency to make it known. Shame on you mr. ‘store director,’ if I was an employee, I would be ashamed to work for someone like you. I hope your company reads this and puts a more competent director in your spot!
We called the store to see if they have duck eggs. My wife talked to the store manager Brandi and she said yes she had them. We drove to our closest store which was still over 40 minutes away. When we got to the store, they were out of duck eggs and the stock person said they were out for the past few days. I then proceeded to talk to Brandi and ask if she recalled the conversation about the eggs, she said yes . I told her that we drove all the way there because she said she had them. She then told me that if my wife had listened she would have heard her say she carries them but she never said she had them I am disabled and it is hard to walk and after walking to the furthest point of the store to find these eggs she walked away from me without another word!!!! Mind you she is supposed to be management.... This story does have a happy ending, after leaving Marianos I stopped at Woodmans hoping by chance they had them. The store employee was more than happy to help me and i found EXACTLY what I needed for WAY less money!!! Thank you WOODMANS!
CHECK RECEIPT, Every week sales prices not honored unless you catch it. After you catch them theyll refund the prices but not the taxes. Shady!!!I noticed that the new manager seems to segregate when it comes to their employees. Can tell this location is going downhill fast. Will be visiting woodmans next week instead. Sorry marianos it was good while it lasted.
I have noticed that Mariano is consistent across all of the stores I have visited. They are incredibly clean, have fresh fruits and vegetables. I havent eaten from the hot bar but seems to have a nice variety. Their hot soups are good. Prices range from fair to slightly high. Ive always received good customer service. Overall, its a great shopping experience.
Nice going Marianos!I made an appointment to the pharmacy, I got a confirmation, I showed up and found out that they dont have me scheduled!Hoc can you trust them with your meds, when they mess up an appointment!I have scheduled my whole day around the appointment! Im not happy!
For the most part I enjoy this store. Today was busy but it wasnt horrible. The staff were nice, the soups were full and ready to go; Im happy about that because in the past Ive come at the lunch hour and the soups were almost gone at noon. I do have to say Im disappointed that they are getting rid of there free soup after you buy so many program. If you havent heard make sure you dont lose out on your free soup because I was told it is leaving at the end of 2018 the same with the smoothies I believe.
I purchased a watermen there on FridayI brought it home and placed it on my counter. I left it there about an hour and came back to wash the outside of it. There was juice all over my counter and stunk so bad! I checked the melon and there was no cracks in it. I cut it open and it had big black circles in it. This is the second bad one I purchased. The other one wasnt as bad! Im done! Never again. I feel things are getting worse there. I used to love that store.
Marianos goes to great extent to ensure their customers have a delightful experience. Having a 1 year old, they have nice carts to have the little ones strapped in their little car carts. This store is particularly clean and I believe they have staff that are working round the clock to maintain a safe and clean store. The staff are friendly. I like how they provide samples of things. Even though it doesnt fill you up, it is a nice way to have a positive vibe. They have a large selection of grocery and meat selection. All in all, the best part is a clean inviting store with fine goods. The reason why I dont go here as often as I would like to is because of the pricing. Otherwise, I wouldnt want to go anywhere else.
First, the BAKERY SERVICE IS TERRIBLE (per other reviews). I have waited 4-5 minutes multiple times watching 6-7 bakery employees stock shelves and NOT help any of the waiting customers. Are they on strike? Are they trying to look busy? I seriously cannot stand this bakery. Next, the goods are tasty when fresh (their peach pound cake is off the charts), but I do feel that since opening, the service went straight to the gutter and now the baked goods are simply less fresh due to low turnover. Finally, they have a fancy customer ticketing machine thats always broke on the bakery counter with a hand-written, out-of-order sign. Its been like that for months. Can you PLEASE just take it off the shelf?- the thing just reminds me the entire department is out-of-order.UPDATE 8/26/17: Why is checkout hard at this location too? Express checkout is closed half the time and there is always a regular cashier who looks closed with a sign marked as such (so I get in another line), but THEN they accept new customers and Im stuck somewhere else. Why cant I leave this store easily with one of your delicious soups?!
This place was amazing when it opened. Now every time I shop there I will find multiple regular items I need to buy that are expired or expiring within 1 or 2 days. I bought produce today and now they are required to remove it from sealed bags to be scanned! My fresh produce was handled by the employees bare hands, placed multiple times on the belt and checkout hardware, rested on the register and placed against her shirt when trying to find the bar code! I will never shop here again until they get these two huge problems resolved.
Wow what a difference between this Marianos and the one in Wheaton! They advertise their butcher closes at 10pm daily yet when I walk in during the week at 8pm most of the food is put away and the workers are busy cleaning up the displays. I understand wanting to get ahead of the game but at least wait one hour before closing? I walked in last Friday a little after 8:30 and I waited a while before someone approached me at the butcher and I asked if there was any beef tenderloin filets. He told me there wasnt and I said ok let me check what else I can get. He then went to he back and never came back out. Few minutes later I see him coming out in between the seafood and deli sections with his coat and hat on...he SAW ME standing there waiting for him to come back and finish helping me. I understand if it was his time to leave but he couldnt find someone else to help me? I had to ask the worker at the deli if anyone was still at the butcher and he had to go to the back and pull another worker to the front. I wasted a good 20 minutes just waiting for someone to help me. I have never encountered such a rude experience at a Marianos and I am very disappointed in how this store is run. I come to this store because its closer but after my last encounter at the butcher I truly think ill make the extra drive to Wheaton.
They close the self checkout next to the hot buffet and force customers to take their hot food all the way across the store to the registers to pay. They should not be doing this while still serving the hot food. Customers want to eat their hot food while it is still hot and not have to walk across the store to pay, then walk back to the tables to eat it. The manager refused to fix the issue when I addressed it. The manager should have offered to let me pay at the self checkout station right next to the food, but didnt. Service had tanked since Kroger took over. I wont eat at the store again, that is very inconvenient.
It was only the second day of their grand opening so it was understandably busy. The store was clean and employees everywhere you looked so no shortage of help. Overall Im not a fan of the layout of the place as it forces you to circle the store for everyday items and if you forget something like produce you must circle back. I love all the ready to eat items though. A great place to grab a bite to eat before you shop. The decor is very modern so its nice on the eyes while you browse.
Update: For general grocery shopping This store is now a disappointment. Prices are still higher. The product selection is smaller than other grocery stores. Meat on sale lately has been tasteless and tough in the past months. No 100% grass fed meat? Not nearly enough organic selections, and no pasteurized eggs. I would expect much more. Maybe the customers in this area dont want the higher quality items I am willing to pay more for at this type of store.
Once again bought something broken at marianos. Richard manager sees no problem with selling moldy products. cancer, I got my money back. But my 4-year-old daughter almost ate the moldy apple sauce. I do not recommend shopping in this store. with their prices, they should try to get non-deforestable products.
First of all, I patronize this store often and it’s a 3 on it’s best day. This morning happened to be one of my worst experiences there. Anytime I go early the shelves are bare and in complete disarray. The produce is usually empty, the dairy is impossible to shop because it’s such a mess (things in the wrong places, empty spaces, misrepresented pricing), and none of the employees even notice you. This morning, even the ground beef wasn’t stocked and I was offered no selection. Safe to say this will be my last visit to this location. Other grocery stores around have better value and nicer employees.
Went to the deli and waited 15 mins because of how busy and slow they are, which I understand thats fine. Watched the deli clerks offer samples to about 5 different sets of people ordering lunch meat before myself. Obviously when I order some lunch meat they offer me nothing. Last time I buy anything here. Pretty rude
Every, every, every time I shop at this store they dont apply the sale prices to sale items. Every time! On top of that, the young cashiers dont care or do much of anything to resolve the pricing issue. They tell you to go to Customer service (and stand in another line). I used to think that it was just neglect but it happens so often that Im starting to think it is something else. We are getting to the point where we just dont shop there anymore.
Made a quick visit a week after opening and as my friends mentioned, operations need to improve. The 16 year olds were not trained and there is a lot of frustration waiting in lines. The hot bar and food stations look very promising. The wine selection was much smaller than some older and smaller Marianos Ive been to. Its a really nice space so the potential is there.
I was looking to get some fresh seafood at the new store in Bloomingdale. No luck getting any service at the seafood counter at 2 in the afternoon on a Tuesday. I waited for about 10 minutes at the counter without ever seeing a Mariano’s employee behind the counter. I went to another part of the store and finished my shopping and returned to the seafood counter. There was another shopper standing at the counter and I asked if she had been waited on. She told me that she had not seen anyone yet. Both of us waited a few more minutes before leaving the area. Luckily they had some frozen shrimp in the store, so I’m comfortable with the one star review. Otherwise a waste of time. Next time I’ll go to Costco or Jewel. Both are closer for me anyway.
Marianos itself is good but the bakers and their manager are the worse. I got my Daughters birthday cake done from this branch. Firstly it was nothing like I asked them for and secondly everyone specially the baker was so rude! She kept complaining about how tired she is, so be quick. As if they are doing me a favor by making a cake. I will never go for any bakery item to this Marianos branch.
I really like Marionos, and try to shop there a few times a week. I like that they have the early hours and usually try to get there at 6:00am when they open for senior shopping. Recently when I go, they are out of everything, none of the shelves are stocked and you have to ask an employee to check and see it they have the item in the back. Dont they have employees that work at night to restock the shelves? I stop at Meijer after Marianos and the place is fully restocked.
Wow... this place is a disaster. First off, the produce section is bare half the time. Entire rows of broccoli missing. Sometimes there will be barely any lemons or bananas. You would think on a weekend when most people would do their shopping the produce section would have plenty available. I have seen this happening for over 6 months now with no end in sight. The bakery department has the most rude customer service ever. I went to order a cake and stood there for a few minutes while the two cake decorators ignored me. When I asked if they could help me one lady looked at me, didn’t say a word then went over and asked some older lady that was working with the bread to take my order because she was to busy. I asked her about a specialty order and was told I needed to print out what I wanted when normally they will let you email it to them.On top of this, many of the lights above the bakery and deli counters are burnt out. You would think there would be some urgency to fix these to lighten up the store but not so much. There are also many glass doors by the dairy sections that are absolutely shattered. I am afraid to open them around my children as one false move could see the whole door come apart with glass. I figured after a week or so they would be replaced but again, must not be important.Aisles and aisles of food with missing product. Annie’s Mac n Cheese is completly gone. You would think someone handling the orders would notice the trends in what is sold and not and adjust accordingly...Unfortunately, I continue to visit this dump because their prices and good and the food is always top notch. That being said, if I continue to feel like my life is in danger or cannot get flipping broccoli I will be done.
If i could give zero stars i would i expect Marianos to have a lot more gluten free/dairy free products but to my suprise they had only small section smaller even than most other grocert stores, half the price tags were not there so i couldnt compare how much im spending. Every food item from feidges i took was expired or about to expire in a day. I bought i Kate hill cream cheese with expiration in 2 weeks only to open it and find it moldy which tells me it wasnt stored in the right temperature. Awful experience and dairy free products are not cheap..sum it up..empty shelves no price tags, expired food nice job Marianos!
I order a cake from the Bakery and the older gentleman was really nice but when I got my cake it was nothing like I order. A older lady was rude as hell but a young lady told me to go to customer service desk and complain. I went to customer service desk and the CSR called the bakery manager and the bakery manager was a sweet heart! I was running late for my party and was so upset because I needed a cake. The manager said dont worry not only will I make you a new cake but I will deliver it and everything will be free. She stood by her word and the cake was beautiful this time around! I will never order a cake again but I will forever be a customer. The customer service I received from management was outstanding.
Marianos is a fantastic grocery store for people interested in high quality food at the appropriate price. They often have outstanding sales where excellent food can be found at bargain prices, so that is something to look for as well. They have a great selection of beer for those interested in trying craft beers.
I am a delivery Driver for Breakthru beverage, I just made a delivery to Mariano’s, I just dealt with the nicest sweetest lady in receiving that I have ever dealt with in the past 4 years. Very professional, she definitely knows her job. She is a great asset to the company. Her name is Cathy Hawkins,,Thanks again Cathy.144 S Gary AveBloomingdale Illinois 60108
Ive been to several Marianos and im typically a fan. This Marianos specifically needs some work from management. The premade food is rarley ever restocked especially after 4 pm for the dinner rush. The shelves are often bare. Do not even bother trying to get a cup of soup for dinner. Yesterday I went in for some Valentines Day cupcakes and there was only a few things in the entire bakery case. I was told the cake decorator didnt come in so no cakes for anyone. This seems odd to me. They should focus on getting there inventory correct and not being afraid to put food out. Their Customer service can use some work as well. We asked to get a steak grilled and the young man behind the counter rolled his eyes and said he could do it. Pretty sure thats his job. Ill stick to going to the Westchester or Naperville store which is so much nicer with better customer service.
This is my least favorite Marianos. I suspect this is due to growing too quickly and lack of quality control. I have emailed customer service asking for some issues to be addressed but no one replied much to my surprise. I know I have taken this to far! I made it clear that I did not want any coupons or compensation but instead for them to fix their broken processes. This place is super convenient for me as I drive past the site daily, but I will drive a little further to caputos.
Guess I’m done with this store. Back to Hoffman estates I go. The service, selection and stocking of shelves has gone down hill. Some staff friendly. Some clearly don’t want to be there. Asking for assistance seems to annoy some. Very disappointing. The Hoffman and Wheaton stores beat Bloomingdale hands down. What a shame.
I ordered a turkey slider from Todds because its been some of the best turkey Ive ever had at other Marianos, but the turkey at this location was awfully dry. The salad I had from their salad bar which I usually really enjoy had an awful taste also. I was trying to pinpoint if it was the dressing or one of the lettuces possibly. It almost tasted like pesticide or something really nasty like that. My sons burger was really tasty though - Im glad he let me have a bite; otherwise, this would have been 1 star. Very disappointing overall. This is not the typical experience I have when frequenting Marianos.
This review is for the red headed lady behind the counter in the butcher department. Ive been coming here for awhile an the main thing i get are the meatballs. I go to get my usual order and her response, we dont make meatballs.....thats funny because ive gotten them made multiple times. Then i ask, what spices do you use?...We dont have any. Alright lady either you dont know that you do make meatballs because ive had them made on multiple occasions at this exact location or your lazy. Very aggravating when you specifically go to the store for one item and told that you dont make them when you do. Poor service and ill be on the search for another place that makes meatballs ready to cook.
I love this store - fresh merchandise, great meat selection, one of the few places with good variety of fresh mushrooms. Plenty of organic fruits and vegetables. There is a hot food stand with nice items and various choices. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Oh, and they sell great ice cream at Vero Cafe.
I used to love it here. It’s not good what’s happening here. Twice in the last two weeks I have encountered rotten meat. Sliced salami and jalapeño cheddar sausage. I’m so disgusting by this place lately it’s not right. I almost fell on the wet ground in the produce area and this blonde lady could care less! It’s a dump. They never have anything you’re looking for and the chicken area smells like rotten eggs. Everything is expired! Buyers beware!!!
First time ever visiting a Marianos. Store was clean and packed, after all, it just opened a couple of weeks ago. Plenty of offerings (have yet to try the cooked food section). Most prices were competitive with Meijers and Jewel Osco, and a smaller selection offered cheaper items. Was a little troubled to see raw fish sitting adjacent to ready-to-eat food that was separated by a see-through plastic/glass? Wall that was maybe 6 inches high.
I think its nice Marianos makes every store slightly different. Kind of breaks away from that cookie cutter Walmart style. This place can be pricy but they do have good sales. One thing that stands out is they sell local smaller brands so its not all just chain style products. I also like that in the past if you get a meat or fish from the butcher then you can ask them to cook it for you. I dont know if that is still true but I use to do that.
I avoid this Mariano’s! Every time I visit I wait in line forever!! They never have 10 items or less line and the checkout is such a cluster. My total yesterday was 6$ and I waited in line for 12 minutes! Ridiculous because I really like this store but it’s always the longest trip!!
1/14/19 @ 650P, I order 3 burgers mushroom/swiss and 1 rib eye steak. I asked for them to be grilled, medium rare. I returned 20 minutes later. The bugers were still on the grill. The burgers looked well done. As I waited, another customer was speaking with the young man, Jonathan. Jonathan seemed overwhelmed and upset. He was confused, not knowing what food belonged to who, and tossing containers around. After observing for approx 5 minutes, I went to the front. I spoke with a young lady, I explained the situation. She gave me a refund and a 10 dollar gift card. I eventually recieved my food, at that point didnt care if it was overcooked. I got home, approx 10 minute drive. I opened the containers, one container had 2 burgers instead of my steak. I returned and spoke with the same young lady. I reordered the steak and waited. People acted like they cared, but nothing was really done to take care of this problem.
2 week sale and shelves in some areas were almost empty?Fresh bucket of chicken for $10, turns out to be pre-cooked/ cold wings.Thought I was over charged for brats.Turns out, your AD should had a larger limit 1 sign.Lots of employees behind counters waiting to serve customers that werent present. No one in the aisles to ask or answer a simple question.A mid afternoon visit that should of taken 20 minutes took almost 45 minutes.
Management is incredibly rude and disrespectful. Brittany, who is part of the upper management should be fired.Sitting at the sushi bar and talking to the sushi guy while he does his work, relaxing and enjoying the atmosphere, and she’s begins barating him about me INFRONT of me. This is not the first and certainly not the last time this poor worker (Who makes some of the best and gorgeous sushi I’ve seen) will be harassed!!
New register line opened, all groceries on the line girl tells me its broke move to next line, all groceries put back in cart, then never moved carts out of line she wanted me to mo to, no apology. Her boss comes over tells girl that it needs to be rebooted left me standing their. Employees stocking shelves no one would move to let you get what you needed. Fresh vegetables, cucumbers had mold on them. No one apologized for inconvenience. I will just go back to shopping at Meijers. Store was packed!
Sick and tired of the people working at the grilling station. Tired of how irritated they get when u ask to grill, then they give your item that u paid for to somebody else.and i dont buy cheap meat. ALWAYS check the container before you leave, 3times already they gave my order to someone else by mistake. Then this week i got undercooked chickenburgers and chicken breast. What a professional service Marianos. Dont offer grilling if you cant fully provide the service. Where is the good customer service?! Marianos grilling station has a long way to go....
MARIANOs in Bloomingdale use to be fabulous when it first opened NOW! it’s disgusting, the salad bar, hot buffet, olives bar are so messy and disgusting I don’t even buy from them anymore. The rotisserie chickens have been laying out for many hours sometimes they are not even marked with times because they are so old I went to MARIANOs knowing I was paying more for my groceries but really didn’t mind if I was getting quality NOT the case anymore. I don’t know who you hire for management but they are definitely not doing their jobs. Jewel (Bartlett) is looking better all the time , the bakery, at MARIANOs is a joke there are women behind the counter but no one helps you. I usually have to ask someone to wait on me. Where is the customer service? There are expired items such as eggs, yogurt, etc. Top executives / management need to look into the Bloomingdale store but then again it was sold to Kroger over a year ago!
I dont know why but this Marianos is different from all the others I have been too. They are always out or dont carry the products I am shopping for. So I have decided to just stop trying here and go somewhere else that is farther away but I know they actually keep things in stock.
My favorite Marianos. They have a huge eat in section, including an oyster bar. They tend to run out of garlic bread fast, but have made it fresh for me each time I ask. Produce is dresh, deli has a big selection, meat and seafood is always fresh with big selection. Dont forget to stop by the smoothie bar on the way in or out.
I lived in Bloomingdale for a while, moved to Streamwood for a year, then moved back. I mention this because I lived near the Marianos in Hoffman Estates and upon discovering it, I wondered why the Bloomingdale area didnt have a Marianos already. Especially since Glendale Heights, Bloomingdale, AND Carol Stream all had abandoned Dominicks locations. Well, thats finally changed!I dont think this is considered a full flagship store like the one in Westchester, but its REALLY close. The only things it doesnt have are the bulk buy section and the fancy bread and olive oil tasting stand in the international section. Its still got everything else, like the sushi bar, the BBQ and pizza booth, the wine bar AND the oyster bar, the gelato shop, etc. As for the rest of the store, its clean, modern, and overall pleasant to shop at.There were some fears that Marianos was going downhill since Kroger bought them out, but so far that doesnt seem to be the case. Produce section is everything Ive come to expect from them, and in my opinion theyve got one of the best produce sections of all the grocery stores in the area. I must say that I feel like theyre handling the opening rush really well, too. It was still pretty crowded at 9:00 AM on a Saturday, but things were well-stocked and organized, and they had an army of employees running the registers. Meijer next door could learn a thing or two from them!
This based on their small wine bar inside the store. While the experience of eating and shopping at Marianos has always been super: not to much during last trip. A bartender by the name of Bob, was very rude and unprofessional. He was very inactive and appeared to be bothered by severing others. Not to say the least he took her coworkers tips right in front of us
Only 3-4 lanes open on the Friday of Memorial Day weekend. Lines down the aisles. No one called from other departments to help out. Express lane not open. People were extremely agitated and vocal. Pretty sad when you spend more time in line then you did shopping. Never again, Marianos. Ba Bye.
Not good. Lines are too long. People in front of me walked out with extra products in cart. Told cashier was dumb founded. Person behind left cart and walked out. Opened another register not taking whos next. Other people taken care before people in line. Lousy service for an early Friday afternoon. Ill stick to Wheaton and not Bloomingdale.
I work at the mall across the street and run a Solo shift. Friday I called and had them throw a lemon chicken breast on the grill and it was no problem. I did that bc I can’t leave my store unattended for a long period of time and wanted to pick up. I call today, Monday at 12:20 pm and I was told by, I believe his name was Mike, that they did not do that. I ezplaed that i just had that done on Friday and it was no problem. He didn’t care and simply said they’re trying to “figure” out who is doing that bc they should not be. Told him I would go elsewhere and didn’t mind. Guess they don’t care about business as long as they get their check. Hopefully mgmt reads this.
Great store but the worst grill customer service. If you dont want to grill the meat we r buying thats ok just take the fu....g sign down and shout the grill down, I didnt come to your backyard for bbq to be treated like this. And cheer the f..k up its not the end of the world

2021-07-20Is this store giving up? I can’t walk too far right now and need to use the cart. Went thru 4 before I got one that works.Went over to get some soup and a couple were there waiting for a refill from the kitchen. They filled 2 containers and were done. I tried to fill one and there wasn’t enough soup. What is going on? The chicken and wildlife is a popular soup and it’s right in the middle of prime dinner time. Please!Could not find any one to restock soup let alone ask about a cart that would work. I know the competition is coming soon. Marianos, you need to step it up.

2022-03-02This review is specifically related to the bakery department. My spouse and I ordered a custom cake out of the cake catalog binder that Marianos has sitting by the bakery area. We ordered this cake one week in advance of when we needed it. We added all of our options to the cake and the Marianos bakery employee gave us a price for it so that we knew how much we had to pay. The day before the pick up date, we received a very RUDE phone call from what appeared to be a manager within the Bakery department telling us that they cant make the cake because the price was not provided to us. The person on the phone gave us a price of about $90 dollars which was double than the price we were given when ordering the week before. When we asked why they changed the price on us, the manager on the phone talked so rudely repeatedly telling us that we werent given a price. I must have told the manager at least three times that we were given a price when ordering, but the manager refused to listen and cut us off every time we spoke. The tone in which this manager talked to us was completely unacceptable. Marianos need to train their employees better on how to talk to customers because speaking to customers with a negative tone and attitude will definitely lose Marianos customers like us. Marianos also needs to train their employees to let customers finish talking and not cut them off every time they try to talk. Overall, this was the first time I have gone to a Marianos location to order a cake or shop at all and I wont be going back. I dont recommend it but if anyone out there wants to order cake from Marianos, please get a firm price and documented receipt.

2022-04-14Seems like there are a lot of dishonest reviews being pumped out by the company to promote false advertising. Produce? Always lacking. Food items? A good chance of grabbing an expired product. Management? Beyond useless. Save yourself the trouble and shop at woodmans across the street - an actual store with actual good product. Cheaper too, can’t wait until this dump goes out of business.

2022-04-19Store policy seems to be set by each individual employee and whether they feel like helping a customer. One day you can get a raincheck on items. A week later you cant because thst would require Joe to unlock the door and go behind the counter.Sale items are always out of stock, no matter what time of the day or week you go to shop.

2022-05-01This place needs a regional manager response, the grill has been broken for the passed 3 months. This is info coming form the manager at that store who is responsible for the matinance cause some one is not doing what they need to do. Im leaving this store to shop somewhere else. I will not be coming back here..

2022-04-03They frequently ring incorrect sale prices! Errors are always in their favor. They do refund if you catch it, however, you have to go to customer service and spend extra time. Also error happens frequently, many times you won’t check or complain because it’s just for a dollar, but it adds up.

2017-02-14Its a big store with a ton of amenities. This place is just more than shopping, its a restaurant, a hang out place, and more. Theres an oyster bar, delicious Todds BBQ... And, like all the other Marianos, there is a quality bakery, juice bar, and cheese shop. Really nicely lit up deli area... It gets pretty busy and I think they are still getting into the groove so it might take some time to get your order during a busy time like after work or a Sunday afternoon. The butcher area is nice as well... Quick to serve and even has a grill for cooked orders. They have a huge selection of food from all over the world. Also, a large selection of vegetarian, organic, vegan options as well. The place is clean, and lit with LEDs throughout. Its nice to see a new store incorporating newer technology and Marianos seems to do just that with all their stores. Not too pricey as well. Some items are more expensive but youll find deals as well.

2022-05-09Bad management, treats employees disrespectfully unless you are white, racist management overall. Store has been failing since I quit working here which was 2018. Stuff is overpriced anyway. save your time and go to Woodmans or somewhere else. Would give 0 stars if i could.

2017-02-06Great grocery store and more. The food court have so many options and everything on the food bars are fresh. Staff is super friendly and it is clean. Prices are surprisingly competitive if you shop their sales. Butcher section will grill your meat purchases for free and they have been right on. Good place.
