Marianos in other cities:
The worst grocery store in our community. Absolutely no integrity. The price of an item rings higher than what is marked in the grocery area and they have been adjusting the price for me for the last 3 weeks. So I told them today to either mark the correct price so that the marked price is the same as what I am being charged. They quickly go and replace the $1.99 tag with $2.29 tag and then asked me to go with them to show $1.99 price knowing fully that I had already talked to the lady in the grocery area about it before picking up that items and she had already told me that the label is $1.99.. Jewel grocery will never do that.
I love this Marianos! The employees are the most helpful I’ve encountered in a long time. That’s what makes them the most distinctive! High quality customer service! Superb quality produce, meat, and deli. A great place to shop! It’s just missing a bar like the other Marianos in the Aurora/Naperville area. Maybe someday?
Closest grocery store to my home. However the store is chronically understaffed At the busiest times with not enough people to check out and not enough self check out. I spend most of the time waiting in line to check out my five items. Rather drive a little further and go to jewel.
Locations are great! I have one right near my home! The grocery prices are reasonable and the home cooked meals are very tasty! I was surprised at how good their meatloaf was and their spicy chicken wings were very flavorful! The egg potato salad was a bit meh. However, If you don’t feel like cooking but desire a home cooked meal, I would suggest take out at Mariano’s!
This Marianos location is always very clean and the shelves well stocked! Im really happy to see the sushi area open again. The sushi is always so fresh and they guy helping us is always so nice and helpful. Hes also very knowledgeable about his department and what he is preparing. So, heres a shout out to Justin in sushi! The cashiers are really nice. Its just a great Marianos! Great job!
Love this grocery store. Everything Ive ever purchased that is made fresh on site is amazing. From the bakery to the sushi it never disappoints. Fried chicken for the big game? No problem. Pot pie for the loneliest of Tuesday nights? They got you covered. Fantastic prices as well. If you dont have a Marianos card, you are literally wasting money.
This location has a lot of options at the deli and butcher. They have a good selection throughout the store, and the employees are generally in a positive mood when assisting you. They also have a piano attached to the stores intercom and usually have good music being played. My only complaint: pay attention to prices; almost every other visit, I have to correct their checkout system pricing.
For the most part a great store. Deli is fresh, fresh produce, bakery is decent (though I do not like their apple cider donuts, very waxy and tasteless), and the workers are really friendly. Prices are hit or miss like any other grocery store. Depends on what you are looking for. I shop here often.
I love the deli and meat department here. Great, ready to grill meats, awesome side salads, nice salad bar in fact, to go lunch deals from deli, actually a wine and beer section to rival most liquor stores. This place is high on my list and if it was a little closer to home would be a regular. I still make the drive. Give it a go!
Today I went to Mariano’s for the dinner meals $7 for a meat and two side fir a quick meal and I bought 5 different meals and my daughter and Granddaughter meals where Korean barbecue chicken Mac and cheese and mash potatoes their meals where good not just taste but safe but my other daughter and I had the Italian chicken and soon as we warmed them up they smelled bad and tasted spoiled the Mexican corn was bad tasting as well, the kale dish was good , so I called and they told me I can swap out the meals so I grabbed the same meals as my daughter and granddaughter did. When I was there I asked the manager (who apologized three times) “out of Curiosity how long does the food sit out”? He replied “ We have three days before we have to throw it away”. I was like “Wow! Three days”! The other employee said that “sometime some employees forget to put the date so it could be out longer”. In conclusion I guess the first two meals I had the Italian chicken meal had sat out longer than three days from the smell to the taste was all bad, so I guess that means at this point that was my last and final time eating cooked meals from Marianos. Most places like Fast food restaurants like McDonald’s, Walmart ,Jewels they all through the food out the same day they were don’t set it out for three days later and McDonald’s and places like them they throw theirs out in time frame throughout the day, so no longer will I be eating dinner, lunch or breakfast at Marianos to not take the risk of food poisoning, especially, these times we are in.
Love this Marianos! They have a great selection of everything, its very bright and clean, and all of the staff is really friendly. A lot of things you cant find at other stores you have a good chance of finding here. Its also a great place to stop for a quick lunch or cup of coffee.
Marianos is a great place to buy groceries. The prices are reasonable and there are always coupons available to bring costs down further. Plus, the atmosphere cant be beat. Sometimes you can enjoy live piano music as you shop. Its pretty nice! Marianos is definitely the best grocery store in the area.
This store reminded you that Marianos came from the failed chain, Dominics. I have been to other Marianos locations and this one just falls flat with the hot food they offer and the friendliness of the butchers and specialty counters. Some days I get the one person that is friendly and knowledgeable but often times it is hard to even get someone to help you.I do keep coming back week after week because the cashiers are generous with the coupons.
Great store to shop at. Salad bar is very good but occasionally I come for lunch and there is no cashier by the salad bar I have to go to the checkout area where everyone else is checking out for their groceries unlike the one in Wheaton where it s easy to pay for your stuff right by the salad bar, sushi bar and the deli area.
Very hit or miss at this location. Some things in the deli/bakery are decent when theyre not previously frozen, which many of the cakes are. Theyll have decent deals on items particularly with their store coupons or if youre a rewards member. Unfortunately this is a store that requires you to check the dates on their products before you buy. It is not uncommon to find items out-of-date by six months or more on their shelves or molding, rotting, out-of-date cheese and presliced meats along with opened/damaged packages of products still put out for sale. Ive had to return moldy produce a few times since the packaging can sometimes make it difficult to see what condition the food is in until you open it up at home. Ever since Kroger took over this store, its gone drastically downhill.
Their grilling section lately has been either closing earlier or not even bother opening at all. A sign in front of the grill would say they are short handed and no-one can do it. Customer service has been awful.I used to love Marianos. What a shame. Perhaps its time for a management change.Thank God for Petes Market.
This is not just a grocery store, it is a full service experince. They will not only sell you the food, but prepare it for you! The produce selection is unmatched in the area both in quality and price. The meat and fish departments continuously impress me with what they can provide for the cost. This is the grocery experience Ive been waiting for.
I like there vegetable and fruit selection, they last longer at home, but the reason I havent been coming is because compared to other stores they are a bit over priced, for example I love Hagan daz icecream I bought a box containing the same amount paid 2xs more at Marianos I went else else 3$ cheaper. Ive bought from there aile section and compared somewhere else for less $$$. I still go for the fruits and vegetables, but I if I can save a few $$ here and there Im all for it.
Really love shopping at the store. But most recently, I cannot thank them enough for their service and support. One of their store managers, Sharon (I believe), went out of her way to help me with some thing. I had been searching for a particular product, that due to Covid, Is extremely difficult to keep any on the shelf. Four months in, and I still couldn’t find. But, Sharon was kind enough to share with me their delivery days. I would drive up each week, on those days, sometimes twice a day, and still no luck. Sharon offered to take my phone number and call me if they product come in. I really didn’t think that possible, because this is a very hot product, and each store is delivered a very limited number of the product. Very limited number! But, three weeks after I gave my phone number, Sharon called! I was so impressed that she kept her word, though was not expecting that, due to the high demand of the product. When this whole Covid mess is over, I plan to go up there and give Sharon the biggest hug possible! It was such a great feeling being reminded that there are kind, generous, and empathetic people in this world. Especially right now! Sharon & Mariano’s renewed my faith in this. Keep up the great work Mariano’s! As long as I live in the state of Illinois, you have a loyal customer!!!!
I saw Gelato on sale for 1.99 several containers were on the shelf. I checkout and the item rang up for $5.28, I called the guy over and he goes to check the price,( walking so slow, omg). He comes back no maam they are higher. I walked back there with him shows him the rest of the items on the shelf. He said oh, they have the wrong price. I said, if you stack items under wrong sign thats your fault. He argue stating i cant sell then to you for 1.99 we go back and forth. I said, keep them if you mark the wrong price you should sell at that price and go fix it. He refuse to do so.Do not shop at this location, unprofessional no customer satisfaction at all.
A step up from the old Dominicks. Not the same experience as regular Marianos. However, I love the people in the fish department and the coffee bar. Very knowledgeable and helpful. Also, I trust the pharmacist, which is why I continued here after Marianos took over from Dominicks. I buy from their bakery every week. Delicious!
Blonde lady in the deli we went to get the Rotisserie chicken and when we asked her where the chicken pieces where she RUDELY RESPONDED WHERE DO YOU THINK THEY ARE..I wanted to call the store manager but my husband wouldnt let me because we had children we had to pick up. We are customers of Marianos and NEVER have been talked to like that. Other customers around us just looked at us and shook their heads as they couldnt believe what happened.
I enjoy this store because they offer a good hot food bar. They have a cheese area that allows you to sample the cheese before buying it, a fresh squeezed juice area, a popcorn area, a coffee and geloto area, hot soup area and they also offer cooking food from the meat department for you. You can pick out a steak or Burger of your choice and have the cook grill it for you to take home. Love this serve! Love that they have sample days where u can try new items before buying. The check out lines are usually not too long and the selection of items are good. I would give 5 stars but bakery could offer more selection like the bigger Marianos and getting into and out of the parking area is often a hassle.
Great place to shop. Right now I get my prescriptions there. Theyre all very friendly. I have been going there for almost a year now. I now because of my insurance co. have to go to CVS. It seems every year Im getting moved to difference pharmacies. Not happy about that at all.
Mariano’s is by far my favorite grocery store to shop at but this location is very spotty with their service and products. I find myself driving an extra 30 minutes just to go to the Naperville location. I would definitely suggest investing more in your employees because they all look like they hate their jobs which shows in their performance.
My May 2016 wedding cupcakes were so tasty, looked AMAZING and were SO INEXPENSIVE!!! When I ordered them they were not on special but when I picked them up, the bakery added the discount. I had 120 cupcakes for less than $90.00! I was so grateful I could have cried but I didnt want a swollen cry-face for wedding pictures :)
We just moved to the area a few months ago and Ive driven past Marianos many times. I went on a mission the other day to find the cotton candy grapes, a produce website I used had a locator and said Marianos may have them. Long story short, found them, theyre delicious, but I never in my life have paid $8 for a bag of grapes. There was a convenient 5 items or less quick checkout that I used to buy my grapes and get out without having to wait in a line. The bakery/deli/fresh food side of the store feels very upscale and has a lot of cool choices. The grocery side was unimpressive to me and felt old, dated and overpriced. One of the type stores that you would need to coupon just to bring your food down to normal price. Another review said it felt like a Jewel Osco, Id have to agree. I may venture back to try the salad bar or something one day, but I wont be shopping here regularly by any means.
This store rocks! Especially their pharmacy, I’m not big on the ‘no drive thru’ pharmacy because like most people I enjoy the convenience of drive thru! The staff at this location’s pharmacy is worth getting out of your car, and walking in! Lori is truly phenomenal! She is typically the ONLY one there and never ceases to provide anything BUT exemplary customer service! I can NOT say enough great things about her! Even my DRoffice has commented on how blown away they are with Lori! Thank you Mariano’s for providing an awesome grocery store and and even more awesome pharmacy(this is a huge thing when your kid is sick and you need their rx asap!)
I had a volunteer event in the morning of Nov. 6, and they forgot my order. I was upset, but the manager, who I believe was named Tom, went above and beyond to make up for the miscommunication and gave me free doughnuts. It was a small gesture, but I told my work team, and he’s earned many loyal customers! That’s the way you show customers you care. Thanks, Mariano’s!!
Store is terrible now that Kroger bought it. They have a lousy selection of goods. The Kroger branded merchandise is garbage. And they have ruined the Roundys brand as well. The Organic Truth brand is the only thing I buy here anymore. Someone literally relieved their bowels on the bathroom floor the last time I was here. Disgusting.
I wish I could give zero stars.. I thought Mariano’s would maintain some standards in the bakery section but this store disappointed me completely. Bought a tres leches cake today for my friends birthday. But it was completely dry. All the liquids inside were already leaked but I didn’t realize that when I bought it. There were like 5-6 cakes all of them were like that.. I thought that’s ok because it was Marciano’s. I can see the frozen milk on the bottom of the cake. It wa very embarrassing situation at my friends place. We throw away entire cake in the trash!
Went about 6pm Sunday looking for barley for soup I thought marianos had everything! 3 aisles of grains for Christ sakes. I spoke to three random employees who were exceedingly polite and wanted to help but had no idea what barley is. Finally went to help desk who consulted grocery guy .Does no one under 20 work there Sunday evening ?
Nice fresh grocery store, i shop here a lot, but lately i found that the mexican coke glass bottles dont have the same taste like the bottles from other stores, and the coke is not carbonized like it should. They would have kept the 5 star review if it wasnt for this.
Poor customer service at the Aurora IL store on New York street. No baggers working, cashier had to bag items then left all 30 bags on the counter for me to put inside cart. I asked for help and the cashier said, no.Wow, Thank you for your attitude and for your poor customer service today!
Went to there grill station asked for a burger, needed to pick my meat, was going to pay, but they do not have registers. Had to walk back to regular registers and pay, then came back want to pick up burger, did. It ask how I wanted my burger? Just handed me burger after showing I paid for it. No fries available, just a burger. He offered chips, which I needed to go back to registers and pay? They need more signs on how this grill station works, and they need a register at the grill section? Did not like the idea of going back and forth to pay, very inconvenient!
This Marianos in Aurora on the corner of New York and Eola is an absolute joke, especially there deli. This deli is the worst deli I have ever encountered slow they dont care how long you stand there waiting. If they run out of product it takes them weeks to restock that idem. Management seems to young to run a store. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this Marianos it should be closed down.
I was very disappointed with how dirty the kids carts were yesterday. I buckled my daughter into the special cart for kids and realized they had some Purell wipes to sanitize the handlebars. I pulled a couple out and began wiping down her steering wheel and the dash area. After I gave it a quick once over I saw how filthy the cloth was after the fact. You should really consider cleaning these child carts once a week or something. Im not at all an OCD parent, but theres no way a childs cart should be that dirty.
NEVER RECOMMENDED!! Dear Marianos are you kidding me? Or you are high on weed? Is this your best work. You should say sorry for your work and for screwing my babys first birthday. for work: 0/10, For bad Behaviour and rudness 10/10. Oh I forgot to mention that they were asking $70 for this cake :DThanks to last minute saviour Nothing Bundt Cake. They did amazing job in last minute to save my babys birthday.
Went to purchase crown royal apple which was not in the aisle with the 300 other liquors on display. So had too get someone to go and bring me a bottle to purchase. Arrived at 7:50pm ask for bottle at 7:55pm... 8:15pm and still no bottle? Walked out the store! Whats the hold up? Ludicrous!
I find the Aurora IL Marianos Dirty and In need of repairs. The floors are cracked, it has poor lighting, and does not have products found in the Naperville store on 75th St or stores in Hoffman Estate/Schaumburg and Bloomingdale IL.. I am sick and tired of having to go to the Naperville store when I have one close to me. The people of Aurora deserve a quality store. FIX this store.
Great grocery store, super friendly, welcoming, reminds me of our former Dominicks Grocery Store near Raymond Dr. Marianos was unable to fill in there because Albertsons grocery, parent for Jewel grocery bought the lease to curb competition, that is why most people in our neighborhood do not shop at Jewel, plus Jewel is too expensive. We shop anywhere but Jewel, including Marianos.
I just want to let upper management no the verbal abuse I received today. Zana or Zora the customer service rep came over to check id. While checking Id she said hello my mother said hello and she said lady I wasnt talking to you completely threw me off since Ive never had horrible experience at this location. I informed this person that your talking rudely to someones mother and apologize for your rude comment to my mother. Instead of defusing the situation she told me she does not apologize to anyone. I then asked for her name and she refused to provide it to me. She hands my mother a mothers day balloon and says take this since your son is a low life. Ive spent so much money here I am done with this location. I work in the loop Ill get my groceries there where they provide exceptional service, not verbally abuse customers. I will be writing a letter to corporate to inform them of how this location conducts business. To Zana dont ever talk to someones mother like that. The situation could have went in a different direction.
They do not have a written return policy on the receipt and I tried returning a boxed unexpired shelf stable product worth 7-8 dollars and the manager refused to take it. No customer service and sense of how to retain a customer. I was ready to take a store credit but she did not obliged to it either.Overall poor experience.

2022-01-05Always a great shopping experience. I find something new to try each time I step in. Found poke bowls to try this time. Prices are competitive and my family loves the food so much that we eat everything we purchase, nothing sits for days in the refrigerator due to lack of interest. Beautiful and colorful flower arrangements to brighten up snowy winter weather.

2021-11-25Almost all necessary groceries are available in good number of variety. I loved their ready foods, specially the soups. However, the ice cream lady arrogant. Shes didnt bother to look at us to answer her questions. They werent serving ice cream at the moment for some reason but she wasnt polite at all.

2022-06-25I grew up shopping at Kroger, so when I moved to the area, I was glad to find that Kroger owned Marianos. Kroger brand food is usually pretty decent. The employees are all very nice even though they are understaffed. The meat counter is always filled with fresh stuff. I love that they have Italian sausage for super cheap. The produce can be so-so at times. That seems to be a trend at a lot of places right now though.

2022-06-07Glad they started drive through after pandemic last year. It has become so convenient to shop with little kids. Best part order is always ready within 2 hrs.

2022-04-26Absolute worst of all Mariano’s. Always out of stock of popular sale items. Hot foods never stocked for dinner convenience and even if they were, it takes 45 minutes to get through checkout between 4 and 6pm. . I can cook dinner faster. Made my very last attempt today. I give up. No more Aurora Mariano’s.

2022-06-23I don’t know how to say, the meat was cheaper, but too hard too buy this meat, U need cut digital coupon from you phone, and the app so hard too use. I give up !

2022-02-02Juice and milk variety is not sufficient. Some staff appears rude compared to area’s grocery stores. If I miss some items and go to Meijer nearby, staff curtsy is very obvious.
