Macys in other cities:
Terrible customer service. I went in today to purchase a handbag for my mom. I needed the bag unlocked, so I asked the lady to help she told me I was after someone who had already asked. But she continued to help other customers while I waited. I reminded her again that I needed help and she proceeded by calling on her walking several times for someone to come give her a break. She clearly did not want to help me. She most likely thought I wasn’t going to be able to afford the bag. Very unprofessional will never be purchasing from this macys again.
I came out on a fun, hot summer day and was in the mood for shopping! Unfortunately, I came to macys only to witness their RUDE and miserable staff! They don’t have any respect or manners! In addition place was very messy and extremely dirty! The cash register stand was filthy from finger prints and gunk. Just Gross.
I am so not loving posting this review I am so disappointed and disheartened with Macys overall but especially the Skokie location. What once was a very classy store with high end quality merchandise has now seemed to be less quality and maybe they changed their buyers , also the amount of selections is bare minimum. The quality has gown down and the skokie location feels like Im at a discount store not a high end brand name store shopping through backstage not to mention unsafe. Im just not sure what they are doing, the fitting rooms are atrocious, they have one person working which is not her fault. I came home with my purchases from the other evening and my husband asked when I went to Marshalls. I said I did not only Macys. He said well then why is there a Marshalls tag. Literally my purchase from Macys had a Marshalls tag and Macys backstage sticker over it. What is this! Waiting for c/b from corporate to explain that one. (I would be happy to provide proof of this too).
Its a nice big store, some items are with great prices and some not - you should check for discounts. The service can be wonderful or horrible - it really comes down to the seller. I usually find what I want with no help. They changed the credit/membership system recently - so some of the older cashiers are having a hard time (they can make mistakes, it can take time and they can miss putting points on your membership), so be aware.
Wow! Options, so many designer options. Had to drag myself out of the place because of all the options you could choose from. Plus they had Black Friday sales of up to 60% off some designer clothing items. Well laid out store. They have bar code readers that allow you to confirm the price of any item. Customer service agents were helpful as well. All round good store. Cheaper than some other stores close by.
Today morning my husband was interested in shoes and he tried to asked to the lady who was in the mens area shoes by Nike’s, but before he asked that lady exclamation was like, “YOU HAVE TO WAIT A MINUTE”, I believe there is a different way to say wait for your turn… not by approaching customers with horrible actitud like the lady who was working here this morning, I believe this job is not for her.
Went to the fragrance department. Every staff member that we met there is so helpful. Plus, if they dont know the answer to your questions they will find someone who does. One fascinating feature, for gifting, found in the Dior section is that they will engrave your Dior product with the persons name or a short inscription.
They waste your valuable time.Wrong shipping address, twice!I was trying to swap a Christmas gift for different size. They didnt carry the item so cashier ordered it for me and shipped it to store. I paid extra to express ship it. Order arrived on time. So far, so good.I went to the store to pick it up and this is where it goes bad. The staff couldnt find it. So I waited 30+ mins with no luck. Then they asked me to call customer service. Why, me? So I had to call customer service while I was already talking to customer service, in-store. lol On phone, 15 mins later the same item was reordered but this time delivery was set to my home address. Wasted 45+ mins and left store with nothing. Now Im waiting for 2nd shipment. A 3-day delivery was expected. However, a week later and still no email confirmation, tracking or text/calls. I called customer service back and they informed me that my order was shipped to the store. omg. They messed up again! Now, I have to wait 4-5 business days for them to process refund and try again. 2 weeks of waiting now another 4-5 business days, possibly a week. What a nightmare.Sorry Macy, its just not going to work out for us anymore.
I went in on Christmas Eve searching for jewelry for my girlfriend as a gift. It was pretty busy but the ladies in that department were doing their very best. Special shout out to Mellie! She was flawless in her efforts to help me find the right ring. She was patient and really listened to my needs. I was able to pick out a perfect piece and left satisfied! Thank you!
Went over the weekend buy some stuff with my wife and as we waited for the elevator on the second floor I looked down to notice something moving and be hold a ROACH it’s baby roach which mean they’re more and they’re probably laying eggs. That had to be the nastiest thing I have ever seen inside a store. Let alone it’s clothing department please if you’ve bought clothes recently please wash them! Macys you can afford a exterminator hopefully someone sees this and does something about it.
I grew up with the former Marshall Fields and infrequently patronize their successor, Macys. We had just been to the flagship State Street store the day before and returned to the Skokie location to take advantage of Black Friday specials. We purchased a couple hundred dollars of merchandise displayed at 60% off. During the checkout process we asked the associate for a price check on two items and verified that everything we were purchasing was indeed 60% off. The associate assured us it was and we left with our merchandise. Upon checking our receipt not only were many items not marked down 60%, we were also double charged for two items. After a long wait in the customer service line, we were treated like we were the ones who had done something wrong. After another long wait, we had them refund our entire purchase. The original associate was either incompetent or willfully malicious. This Macys has lost our business.
My generous score is based on the customer service of two young men who work in the pickup/ return section. Their friendliness and helpfulness should serve as an example for all of their co-workers.With that being said: Im the proud mama of a busy little nine-month old. Because of the pandemic, I try not to bring him inside enclosed public spaces much. So I do most of my shopping online and use curbside pickup as much as possible. However, on 12/9 I had a babysitter due to other appointments. While my time was limited, I had a few extra minutes to actually go into the store. When I arrived I was happy to see that there were two separate lines for pick-ups and returns. Even better, there was only one person in front of me. I didnt know that the person in front of me would use the agent as their personal shopping assistant. After waiting in line for about seven minutes and watching people go in and out of the return (its usually the other way), I begged the pardon of the assistant but asked if I should get in the other line as it was moving faster. She looked aghast that I would ask her that question. Then, as if she wouldnt be bothered either way, she told me that I was next but that it was up to me if I switched lines and then went right back to doing what she was before. No apology that the process was taking longer than expected, not even a conciliatory tone. She never asked one of her associates for backup either.I understand that the needs of each customer are important but that means all customers, not just those who want to look through there Macys purchase history, look up online purchases because they didnt do so on their own, return an item so that they could get a percentage off and several other items that should have been directed to the other line, are more important.Ive managed a front desk or two. When the requests of one customer start to impact others, you can ask for additional help if available, ask the customer to step aside if possible, or at the very least, apologize. This agent chose to be dismissive, indifferent and unbothered that there were other customers waiting.I was actually helped by one of the young men who saw the line growing and took it upon himself to assist the customers waiting in line. I would have waited for a store manager but after waiting for 10-12 to pick up my order (I could have purchased in person for less time), I had no more time to spare so that I could make it back for the babysitter. For some reason, curbside pickup at this Macys is quicker than going into the store. In the future, I am only going to use this option or take my business to Nordstrom which, interesting enough, is right around the corner.
The city of Skokie has designated Old Orchard Westfield mall as a blighted shopping center. Yet, the local government has decided to add an additional 1% tax increase to raise fund for developer TIFF incentives that will be used to tear down and redevelop the mall in to mixed use site. The owner of Westfield, in France, has listed the sale of the mall in 2022. Source: Crains Chicago News
Macys (originally R. H. Macy & Co.) is an American department store chain founded in 1858 by Rowland Hussey Macy. It became a division of the Cincinnati-based Federated Department Stores in 1994, through which it is affiliated with the Bloomingdales department store chain; the holding company was renamed Macys, Inc. in 2007. As of 2015, Macys was the largest U.S. department store company by retail sales.Macys has conducted the annual Macys Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City since 1924 and has sponsored the citys annual Fourth of July fireworks display since 1976. Macys Herald Square is one of the largest department stores in the world. The flagship store covers almost an entire New York City block, features about 1.1 million square feet of retail space, includes additional space for offices and storage, and serves as the endpoint for the Thanksgiving Day parade. The value of Herald Square has been estimated at around $3 billion.
Great place to shop! Going to a wedding later in the year, and Mary in the suits department was so helpful! She helped me choose the perfect suit for my girlfriends wedding, and Im excited to show it off. She gave me the best advice, and now I feel really confident. Would recommend to a friend.
Went to Macys Old Orchard a few days ago and that probably was one of the worst experience Ive had with them. I was checking out fragrances for myself and for Christmas gifts. A couple of the sales associates were gathered in one area just talking and scrolling on their phone. I dont usually mind that but when I asked one of them if I can have a sample he looked at me up and down and said not without a purchase and he walked away and grabbed his phone again. I get that I was not as polished looking coming from a 12H shift, but that was just disrespectful.
I have only shopped at Macys once in my whole life. This is my second visit to the facility and I have purchased two pairs of jeans and a pair of fancy socks that are overly colorful. They do give out coupons for you to utilize, however they are limited only to non-brand named items. I think itd be even greater if all the items were made in America, youll definitely get discounts.
This is probably my favorite store to shop for my sons clothes. Online has amazing things on clearance as well. Also, their backstage is also nice to look at as everything is affordable and cool to look at. I just wish things were better organized in that section, some things can be everywhere or just not as noticeable and hidden so be sure to look everywhere!
3/3/2022 update...Last year, there were sooooo many pretty clothes in the womens plus sized section. And the sales were phenomenal! Even the clearance section was nice!I went in there today, 3/3, and that section took a major nose dive. The selection looks like its for much older women that dont really like to dress up and want to wear sweats all the time. Even alot of the casual clothes looked like work out gear almost.Bring back the designers and clothes from last year. Please.Old review...Every time I go there, the staff is so helpful, pleasant and professional. And this is my favorite place to get nice clothes and all things pretty!Do check out their sales and clearance racks! Sometimes their prices beat some thrift stores!***Update***Check out their Backstage downstairs! This is where alot of the stuff from Marshalls, TJMaxx and Ross is before it gets to them! #MindBlown !!!
Krystyna R. went above and beyond. while shopping at the Lancôme counter on Sunday the 28th I left my magnifier by mistake Krystyna called me later in the day and told me I had left it there. She shipped it over with my makeup order. I must say Im 98 years old and it would have been an extreme hardship to return to the store to retrieve my magnifier. She was kind enough to say it would be shipped. For going above and beyond Krystyna should get mentioned of this act in her personnel file. I would appreciate it by acknowledgement of her outstanding service.
I swear all the people posting about good customer service here must work here. I have never had such terrible customer service in my life. At best, they don’t speak to you, at worst they scream at you for no reason. This is a group of people who clearly wish they worked somewhere else or are deeply disgruntled about their circumstances. The woman who works in the handbags section literally screamed in the face of an elderly couple “you’re not doing me a favor, I’m doing you a favor”. I bought a cocktail dress and they took it off the hanger and balled it up and threw it in a bag. I will never shop here again. It’s a miserable place.
On the floor Macys is clean and well-stocked. Theyre terribly shorthanded especially in the evenings. They should have signs posted 5 items in dressing room because when you get there thats what you find out. One day that dressing room would be open and another day that same dressing room would be closed. The items to be returned to the floor or overwhelmingly doting task. There are lines everywhere, but I am finding thats true for many retailers. Typical Macys prices abound but deals can be found. Even though the staff I am sure feel overwhelmed they are friendly and kind. Show them a little kindness by taking your clothes off the hangers for them. Perhaps youll with thank you and a smile.
This store is ok, didnt appreciate the attitude of sales women at the fragrances section. At first a young woman was helping decide which cologne to go for, all of a sudden an older associate stepped in an took over the sale which was fine at first, once I was asking questions, she didnt like it and started giving an attitude. I decided which one I was getting but in order to pay I was told to go to another associate. Long story short I walked out without a cologne and decided to go get it at a different store. Wont be going back there. My money my choice
Today I was there with my 3 year old son. He has Autism and today was the first time I experienced a meltdown. It was his first one and it was bad. We were in the childrens department, I was trying to do everything to calm him down so I rush to the cashier located by bedding . I was standing there waiting my turn. My friend was about 10 feet away . When the two cashiers started criticizing and commenting outloud. We all can hear the comments not kind in any way. I had to speak up. I explain to them the situation and all they said no body is judging you. 🤔🤔🤔Really...... they were not judging me but they were complaining and judging my son. Its really sad. I can deal with people staring. But keep your comments to your self. Specially if you work there.
Some of the worst service in retailI needed help with suit sizing in the men’s department (which had no one staffed) and one of the front end workers mentioned she’d call her manager over. I waited ten minutes and no one was there. I mentioned this to her, she responded by what appeared to be her pretending to talk into a walkie as the changing area and mens area were deserted. In total, I asked her about 3 times on the status of the manager within 15-20 minutes and every time she told me he should be there but he wasn’t. The front end wasn’t really that busy but even then some transparency and redirection to anyone else willing to help would’ve gone a long way in this instance.
Horrible pickup experience. I had curbside pickup, and was waiting in my car, and they gave the order to someone else. When I called them, they said the order had already been picked up, and the best they could do was give me a refund. You would expect them to check that they are giving pickup orders to the right person.
Exceptional service provided by Kevin on multiple occasions. The professionalism and these positive experiences is what keeps me coming back to the store as opposed to only shopping online. Keep up the phenomenal work as Im definitely going to continue being a repeat customer at this location! Thank you for the great experience.
I love Macys but they do not have enough business attire for the plus size woman specially blouses they need to accommodate to the times and after quarantine many women went up in size some of us are a bit heavier not a size 22 or bigger. I couldnt find a blouse to pair with slacks for an interview everything is online and it takes from 4 to 9 days to pick up in stores
Very fast and easy to return merchandise (assuming unused and within the return policys time period). Easy to purchase things that need to be delivered, even when they come from other Macys locations they tell you about it, but otherwise its transparent to you. No feeling of high pressure, even on costly items.
What happened to customer service? On a busy Saturday, the womens dresses department had two dressing rooms closed off so everyone had to wait in long lines to use the one. To make it worse, when I asked an employee why those were closed, she told me they didnt have enough staff to attend to them. Then went on a political rant about how people want to stay home and collect checks. Ugh. The irony is that the one working dressing room wasnt being attended to either! There were EIGHT RACKS stuffed full of reject garments in the fitting room and outer area. If they could ignore the customers in one dressing room, they could ignore us in three and wed be happier. Macys needs to figure this out.
Was there to get a pair of heels for an event, I saw a pair I liked and brought it up to the counter. The woman immediately walked away from me and said something to another costumer, I was like thats weird but no big deal. Then she came back and looked over my shoulder and talked to 2 more costumers not acknowledging me or making eye contact. She finally got to me and said “What size do you need” in an exasperated tone. So, I simply walked away from her and decided to buy my heels elsewhere. Not sure if it had to do with my appearance but I won’t go there. Called and reported the interaction and the staff who answered were very kind in dealing with the situation. Great store otherwise
Hoping this1 star review will result in a returned phone call. Purchased a full size mattress two months. We picked up the mattress, got it home and realized they gave us a queen size. Contacted the store and spoke to two managers to try to get them to pick up the mattress and give us the right size. They can not give us the full size mattress we purchased because it was on clearance and it is now missing. Ok. Fine I get it. What about your queen size mattress that has been sitting in my living room for 2 months. When will you pick it up? I have tried calling and the phone just rings in the department then loops back. I denied the charge on my Macys credit card and received a letter back stating I havent returned it. Horrible!
I went here a few weeks ago looking for shoes and the sales people literally went out of their way to ignore me. When I hounded one of the sales people and kept going excuse me, Id like to please try on a different size she literally turned around and scoffed at me. I took my money elsewhere 🤷♀️
Its okay, but it will never be Marshall Fields, which it took over way back when. Fields was much more classier and attracted an upscale clientele. Macys, which I laughingly refer to as messy, because it just is! Theyve never even remodeled since they took it over, its really rundown. Even the escalators are in bad need of disrepair. A complete mess! Just another store from New York that pretends its better than it actually is. My suggestion to Macys is, go back to where you came from and bring back our beloved Marshall Fields!
Wanted some help picking out a formal outfit, nobody was around to help me. Went to the cashier to ask for help but she was very rude and told me to go to the shoe department (?). Finally found someone to help but she was the only one and helping a hundred people.Clothes are piled up in a mess.Plus they don’t let you try anything because of covid, which is ridiculous - every other store does. Macy’s needs to reevaluate if this store meets their standards.
The store was a mess , it has been for quite sometime. I spoke to a manager today and a few months ago... I took pictures..its disgraceful. Macys was always classy..not anymore! The baby Department was terrible, so was womens on 2nd floor. When I bring it to your attention you straighten up for a few days then a mess again!! The salesperson in the childrens Department told me kids pull things down. Regardless who does it It needs to be Picked UP! Hire more people to start early or stay late and to manage the registers! You have to run all over to find a saleperson ..usually have to go to a different Department to check out! This store looks like a discount store...SAD!! Will Old Orchard be the next store to close???
Good selection I like that its not busy when I go in evenings, but the dressing rooms are closed which sucks....but its for the best safety wise! My main issue is I can never find someone to ring me up. I end up wandering the floor looking for a sales associate..wish there was some sort of bell.
Curbside pickup is totally disorganized. Service staff brought out a seriously damaged box, with audible broken glass inside and dismissed me with, you have to come inside for a refund, then walked away from me giggling.Went inside and was SHOCKED at the decline of the store appearance. Empty shelves, stock strewn haphazardly, scarce/overwhelmed staff. Sad and depressing.
I’m not much of a big Department store person so it’s fair to say that my experience there wouldn’t be as great compared to someone who really enjoys shopping.having said that, the few customer service representatives I encountered in the bag department or cosmetic counter seemed to be either too attentive (seriously, personal space, lady!) or too busy chatting with each other. The days of big box retail and hyped up department stores are coming to an end. Shipping is NOT a form of entertainment for me and Ive never been impressed by packaging or flash. Not bad, but also not my thing
I love to go to their clearance racks they have brand name clothes for much less. Downside u really got to look real good cause at times the sizes are mixed in with others. When I go Im their looking for a good 3 hours and aside of that I try them one before leaving the place. Some clearance items do not have a return policy so best to try clothes on while u are there.
I was surprised to see multiple staff members at the registers, ready for shoppers to check out, as well as nice and neat racks. These days at department stores, you often feel like there is no one to help you and the stores look messy. This was a very nice shopping experience and I found some great deals in the womens department
Purchased a watch online for pickup in store. I arrived to very poor customer service: one clerk was on her phone, she ignored my Hello and excuse me miss. She got off her phone to say ask this another clerk who was nowhere to be found. I walked to another location in the fine jewelry department and asked about pick up of a watch and this woman tried to sell me a Macys credit card. I explained Id just like to pick up my watch. She directed me to another location. I got there and approached two woman talking who seemed to ignore that I was a customer. Excuse me, I said. Im here to pick up a watch I ordered online. One responded to give my ID. We walked over to another counter and she brought out my watch. The watch hardly looked new! There were finger pints and smudges on the face of it and the band. This was supposed to be brand new! I pointed out the defects and the clerk began to wipe the watch off; see, its better, no worries. She said. I looked over the watch again, it still looked used, the face was dirty still and the band was in fact smudged with what looked like oil markings. I asked for a refund. When I asked for the refund the clerk said that we should look.at another. I declined. This was supposed to be a present and a new watch should have been offered the first time instead of having me purchase what seemed like a used watch. Horrible experience and customer service.
The manager named Jeremy at the old orchard Macy’s is the rudest most unprofessional associate I have ever dealt with. This kid takes his roll as a manager to advantage rather than doing his job. He is sassy, lazy and is always on his phone. His attitude needs to go I have witnessed this with not only me but customers around me. He seems as though he hates his job and it’s clear. I would never return to this location to shop due to his nasty attitude and unprofessionalism. He does not deserve to be a manager .
My experience at macys was good. It was little busy because it was sunday. Only thing which bithered me was not enough collection of mens jackets n coats. I think may be they sold out during holidays . Well over all store was upto date , clean and employees were helpful
I came to this store today in search of some jeans. I was helped by Erica and Deb in the men’s Levi’s Dept. These 2 ladies were extremely helpful and went above and beyond to ensure I had a wonderful shopping experience. If you ever need help in that department, please ask for Erica and Deb! Thank you ladies so much once again. I really enjoyed the item I purchased from you guys. I will definitely be returning.
The sales people at the fragrance section are way too aggressive. I asked them so many times that I dont want samples, and I know what Im here to get, and I dont need help or solicitation, but they kept pushing- one after another. Even when I had made my choice and was at the checkout counter. Such an uncomfortable environment to shop in. Great variety, but super pushy staff. They need to back off if someone tells them that theyre good on their own.
Namet in the Coach jewelry counter was a bit rude. I was forced to interrupt her conversation with a coworker twice to get service and she acted as if she didnt want to ring my purchase. She did become more pleasant when trying to get me to apply for a Macys cars. The four stars are because all the other employees I encounter during my shopping experience were extremely nice, especially the women in the lounge wear department.
I was so fortunate to have an incredible, intelligent, caring customer service woman who followed comprehensive steps to correct the charge on clothing that was purchased online from Macys. I wanted to find a manager to further express my appreciation. However, because of the need for her to servicie others & I had other commitments, I disappointedly left the store. Grateful & very appreciative of her excellent, knowledgeable, quick repair of the error of pricing via online purchase. This great process occurred at the store at Old Orchard shopping center.
I had a very bitter experience with one of the maceys associate called Anna an unprofessional person. She struggled with the transaction for a long time asked for my ID at least 5 times. Spent at least good 30 minutes at her counter. Messed up my giftcard couldnt process it hands it back to me to fix the problem, and in the end she refuses to do the transaction and sends me to another counter says I was misleading her. We÷nt to complain to the store manager Jeremy. His extension is 7562. Who was not at his office. I couldnt wait any longer gave my complain and came home with utter discomfort and disappointment with an unpleasant Shopping experience . I have promised my self that I would never shop at this place again.
Wow really big store with everything inside. You can easily spend more than 2 hours in the place just browsing. They also have furniture on the third floor. The store gets quite busy but it doesnt matter cause of the sheer size of the place. Staff were non invasive. I like it though. Overall good store and keeps up to good standards.
Beautiful store!! Salespeople acted as if they were so far superior they were doing us a favor by taking my money. My son likes Hugo Boss and its the same price everywhere. I think Id rather go to Ultra. Wearing a tiara and diamonds are not my style . With money in my pocket Im as good as anyone.
I enjoy shopping at Macy’s they have good deals and items that re so worth it! I’m giving them a star because of not so nice experience with a staff member at online pick up area. So I brought something online and for pick up in Old Orchard. I got a text message and email that my purchase should be ready in 1-2 hrs so we waited but I never got the text so we decided to stop by Macy’s to check since we were planning to buy other stuff. The staff for online pick seems to be not so friendly with customers she was not so helpful and condescending she refused to assist me further and she jus said I have to wait before I can have my order. We actually have the item in hand and she could have just canceled my order, instead of going back and forth such hassle. Poor customer service skills!
Terrible experience. Called them to place an order for which wasnt available online. I was told the item I was looking for was at this location and I had to call them to order it. I called, at first no one picked up three times. Finally after someone picked up, which was 20minutes of trying to reach them, some lady picked up and asked if I could hold and they literally just sat the phone down and I could over hear the background. I waited an hour till I gave up. No one responded to me. Wont shop here ever.
Extremely nice high end store. It is good to see all the nice Christmas displays this time of year. With the daily prices of many of the items, make a list, compare prices at other stores and resist spending more than you can afford. Macys does have good weekly sales, but you have to go early. At the Old Orchard location, they do have parking. Enjoy!
This was probably the worst place I ever worked. The managers were so rude and would give attitude for asking questions. It was so obvious that they would pick favorites and treated them as such. They claim to treat their employees as family but were just plain rude.
Worst customer service I have ever experienced. Sousan in the home/kids department did not want to help us with returns. She was incredibly rude and shoved the baby clothes back in our faces because the price was cut off. It was given to me at my baby shower and the person who gave it to me cut off the price but left on the return label and she still would not accept it. If you are giving a gift to someone don’t you normally cut off the price??? I asked her to call a manager over to help us she told me, 9 months pregnant, that I needed to walk upstairs and talk to customer service. I kept telling her to call a manager and she kept ignoring me. Absolutely the worst experience ever.
Found a shirt in the sale section with no tag. When I asked for help the associate sent me to look for another one with no help. When I told her I couldn’t find another shirt she just shrugged her shoulders. When I asked to see a manager she told me you can find her yourself and vaguely pointed to an area. What horrible customer service! I had a baby in tow as well! Do you really think this is acceptable Macy’s?? Is this how you train your employees? I will be letting my family and friends know my experience
Kind of hard to navigate. The directory wasn’t as great. I had to search for the customer service table. They were nice when I finally found them! The line was short so that was a plus. I had a few heavy appliances to return. Thank god some carts were near the front or I’d be carrying them all over the confusing layout of this store.
I was very disappointed with customer service in home department (Kitchen stuff) I was about to buy cookware set, so I asked two employees to help me out, but they didn’t response anything. It seems like they are not interested to help any customers. I won’t buy any kitchen stuff from this Macy anymore.
We went in there the other night to buy my husband a winter scarf. There was only 1 sales person in the mens department. She didnt even acknowledge us. Tried to go to another department but they cant ringer up a sale from another department. Not ever setting foot in there again. No wonder they are closing stores!
Do NOT buy jewelry here. Terrible customer service. My husband bought me a pair of diamond earrings that I did not care for and I tried to return them for something I wanted. The jewelry manager would not exchange for something even more expensive because I had taken one of the tags off to try the earrings on. Terrible - especially since I was only exchanging. So now I am stuck with an expensive pair of earrings that I will never wear and Macys has lost a valued customer. I will never step foot in Macys again and will spread the word about the horrible customer service.
I went here looking for a pair of childrens shoes. After what seemed like a long time, I navigated myself to the childrens department but didnt find many shoes. On top of it childrens is in the old, run down looking basement. When I went to the regular shoe department to inquire about childrens shoes, the sales associate made no real effort to help answer my question, didnt offer to get more assistance to see if he could better answer my question. Just kind of shrugged like he just couldnt be bothered. Really unimpressed with the sales associates; with my job, if I dont know the answer, I find someone who does. I will not be returning to this store. If you dont care enough to answer my questions, Im not spending my money here.
Thank you, Sharon in the bedding department! After doing extensive online research for anew bedspread set, I found a Style & Co set and before purchasing online I went in to see the pattern. Macys had 8 of the 10 pieces I was looking for, and only had to order a quilt and pillow case set online. They even honored the online sale price. It was 50% off, plus an additional 15%. Great deal and great service.
I Love this Place.. they have very nice and beautiful things... that’s why I Love shopping every week at Macy’s...and top of all they have Very Good Service (Good Communications with big smile on their faces )... and the store is very Organized and Clean thanks to the leadership and the Management... thank you Macy’s
I came here to buy two pairs of dress shoes, socks, and a belt. This place has numerous styles and and there are good sales going on so that you can likely find a style you are looking for with a price you are comfortable paying. I got a couple pairs of Johnston & Murphy shoes that were on a $100 sale. They had lots of padding and were both dress and comfortable for that price. The shoe sales attendant was AMAZING and pretty much tended to me alone. At least I think he did. If he was helping others I didnt notice because the service was so good. He was very patient helping me find the size and type of shoe I was looking for that was comfortable and withing my price range. Ill be coming back here for future business.
I’m writing regarding The Worry Nomore warranty from Macy’s. Pls do not buy this warranty it’s a scam. I paid $150 for extra warranty for my mattress and it included a mattress pad. I try to get a mattress pad/cover sheet replacement after two years of regular wear, but they wont want to send me one. If you buy any furniture or mattresses from Macy’s the sales reps will try to sell you the worry Nomore and talk wonders about the warranty, it’s all false, they just want to steal your money, show them this review...it’s the worst warranty ever!!!! I will start a lawsuit even if I have to paid thousands, thank God I can afford it, just to make sure The Worry Nomore it’s shut down completely. It’s a scam, should be against the law to sell just a fraudulent warranty at Macy’s!
HORRIBLE Staff. The funny thing is I worked for Macys in two locations, Schaumburg and Skokie. To come years later back to that location to shop was a bad experience. Sure everything looks great but the staff are grumpy, bothered and unhelpful. I was upstairs by active wear and I couldnt reach this one item so i asked what looked like she was the manager at that department, looking bothered by me asking for help. When I was an employee i always gave my customers the best service no matter whats going on in my life.In the end, me and my mother didnt like our experience, Im probably going to return what i bought tomorrow and rather spend money at the Schaumburg location.
I love the personable service that I received from the Christian Diors makeup counters. My favorite Salesperson is Carmen. She always knows exactly what I need and shes right on point when it comes to my make up. So if youre in Macys and you need any kind of make up or need a make up artist, be sure to see Carmenat the Christian Dior counter.

2022-04-08I was pleased by the large selection of apparels and other accessories one can get here. The staff is quite good. Its large enough. The products are reasonably priced and one can score good deals. The parking is large. However it does get really crowded on weekends.

2022-06-15Dirty. Paranoid. I know how to dress for a shopping trip and make north shore money, yet am treated so rudely every time I visit. I was stalked by security when spending 1k on winter coats for my family. I mean literally on my heels the entire time. Paul Blart on the scene! Two separate women who work at Macys had the nerve to essentially ignore my questions, which is amusing considering the amount I could drop there. Get used to shoppers with wealth not dressing like norm-core boomers. My Doc Martens and Supreme are names you dont even carry😅😅😅 Ill stick to Nordstrom, where they actually know how to treat a shopper.

2022-06-30This is Gayle Brinkman and I want to praise Emily, Jessica and Jamal of the shoe department! They are courteous and friendly and extremely competent. I have continuously been happy with the service we received in their department. They are great representatives of Macy’s. Thank you!

2022-05-12Some people in cosmetic area approach some customers mire than others. If your not dressed like you have a million dollars, they do not approach you and ask if you need help. Little do they realize I have money and can afford to buy whatever I want. Never judge a book by its cover and thirdly that commission you will not get. Not professional at all

2022-05-29This store has really gone downhill. The Macys at old orchard mall was a big disappointment and really made me miss Marshall Fields. Unorganized in every way, department for dresses was a disaster, dressing rooms were a mess and very limited and difficult to locate. I had one good experience with a very nice woman who rang up my purchase but the store itself was a complete mess in the womens clothing area. Had much better luck withe the Macys on State Street.

2022-06-20It would be nice if there was someone to answer the phones. Had to drive 45 minutes on my way on the shot that one pair of pants will be there. Luckily they were but need someone to answer the phone to confirm items in store

2022-03-28I like Macys. Everybody I talked to was nice and helpful. Store layout was a little confusing because I dont go to Macys stores often. I got the best pair of combat boots 90% off.
