I was here two days after Christmas and no one was there to help. I waited almost 15 mins for someone. Only reason I waited that long, because my wife wanted a particular item. Im not sure if they thought I was just looking or ready to buy. PS need better customer service. Hire friendly people please.
Went to the menswear section to shop for some clothes for my boyfriend. I was there with my guy friend and we were just chatting and having a good time shopping when I noticed that the salesman, Daniel was looking in my direction and told his coworker something. After that, I noticed that they kept watching us like a hawk and it made me feel so uncomfortable. They acted as if my friend and I were going to steal. I absolutely hate how they had such an unwelcomed attitude just when I had only been there for a few minutes. Was about to purchase some clothes there, but after receiving very rude treatment, I decided to purchase some clothes at a different store in the mall. Its absurd to have salesmen constantly gawk at you for no reason. Plus, Macys needs to really update their inventory. There was such a huge lack of selection and shelves were basically empty. I dont see the point in shopping here if there is no inventory and rude service.
This store is terribly worn. The carpet is dirty & disgusting. The mannequins either had no clothing on or were only partly dressed. The registers are so far apart that you have to wander around the store to find one. Its no wonder department stores are dying if this is the standard they are satisfied with. The prices though? Higher than ever. It makes no sense.
Visited two other locations in the mall that had what I was looking for but they clam to only carry one size, the large bottle with a upcharge 🤑🤑🤑. I like options went in Macy to check if they carried the same product, & yes they did with options small & large an multiple Fragrances not just 1 or 2 plus the customer service was awesome.
I love Macys, online, the store is different. It is not a pleasant looking store. The carpet is discusting and the store smells bad. The store sells such high valued items the in store experience should match. Atleast not smell, possible clean the carpets. There also wasnt much stock but this holiday all stores I went into were having issues keeping stock so cant hold this against them due to current circumstances. The look and feel of the store is something they can fix but have not. It has been seriously neglected.
I came to get a coach purse and it took a while before I got any help. Then the help that I did get was not welcoming. I felt like I was being judged because of my tattoos. The lady gave me a stank face the entire time she dealt with me until she rang me up and saw I had money to pay. She’s an older woman with short hair. I will never come back to buy another item as long as that woman is working there.
(ONLINE)I placed a order online for a Navy luggage set. After about 15 minutes I decided I wanted it red instead. I called talked to a rep. She changed the color and changed my card 833.00. The original price was 139.00. I kept calling to speak to a supervisor without any success. Im one unhappy loyal customer!!
Im commenting on this but this is a regular stop for my wife. She loves Macys she shops at them all over the country.She loves looking for sales. When they have a sale its a good one they still sell dresses and Outfits from my wife and she really loves the place. Great place to shop. Prices are in good, sale prices are wonderful
Store is very clean with hand sanitizer stations on every floor by the escalators and checkouts. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Ask someone a question and if they dont know the answer they will hunt down other employees until they get an answer. The only thing that worries me, is that the basement is so scarce with its bed linens. We needed to order new sheets because they werent in stock at the store for the style we wanted. The cashier was able to help with that and placed an order to be delivered to our house.
Great sales!!!Rae is very nice lady in the parfume department helped me in what i was looking for.I bought alot of stuff because of her.And the other sales lady her name Zahra is in the Estee lauder department,she helped me found alot of great deals too.Very nice friendly employees!Very good for business!!
Macy’s service has been top flight every visit I’ve made. Their service, selection, and value offered make it a great place to shop for all occasions and tastes. Luis and Susan were both extremely helpful in my most recent visits, and I am looking forward to working with them again. Thank you very much for all your help.
Every staff member in the customer service department on my visit (09-23-2020) lacked the knowledge in proceeding with my online pickup order. I tried telling them its all one order even though there all in different bags and a box. They couldnt get the bags to scan (the box was scanned already). I kept telling them its the same order, reason why they cant scan the other barcodes because theyre probably the same barcode. They called a supervisor/floor manager over. He told them I told them. Its all one order, same UPS barcode wont scan twice. They held up the line for about 10 minutes. Id suggest some training or retraining those that may need it. I then proceeded with some more shopping. I asked a worker if she could direct me to where the belts were. She said she wouldnt know because shes on fragrance and to ask someone else. Pretty darn rude lady with not a want to help a living soul. Other than that, the clothes is nice.
They have no help in this particular store most of the time. So you really have to want to buy that item to put in the time it takes to pay for it. The selection is rather limited and dare I say a bit unusual. Sure, you can get a dress shirt or sport jacket but in terms of everyday clothing it a mixed bag. Prices are also not great comparatively. Its really a large cosmetic counter surrounded by levels clothing items that are designer based. In terms of mens clothes there are times Ive thought I would be hard pressed to find something I wanted even for free. There has never been a time where I thought I need to go to Macys for an item. If Im in Macys its because I was killing time at the mall which almost never happens anymore or as the last place left to look for a gift. This store and really this mall feel like their days are numbered and thats unfortunate.
Busy just as youd expect for this time of year. Every register had at least 1 person ringing customers out & were fast, long lines formed but customers had card or money ready to help move things along. Still lots of good merchandise - a little messy in some areas as clerks were too busy to re-fold & re-stock like the normal shopping days. Good experience.
Love the nice staff, specially Phillys, who was very helpful in my question about prices. I also paid attention to how she was excited when a young lady, who was probably about to clock in, greeted her as if it had been a lifetime without seeing her: full of joy.Macy’s is probably a store that is a MUST for stopping in. They never fail to make customers welcome.
So if I could give 0 STARS I would. Bf spent 140 dollars on perfume...was told if I didnt like I could return. Im being told no thats not our policy because its not wrapped in the cellophane even though he was told yes if I dont like the smell it could be returned. Poor customer service and also from the manager. Perhaps you should educate your staff so they all say that same canned phrase. He would have told me not to smell it if it wasnt to be opened due to the cost. I wanted to do an exchange and they wouldnt allow me. Extremely disappointed.
I am not going to lie, I havent been to a Macys in a while. I used to go frequently when I lived closer to it, but now I live farther away. Since I was at the mall today, I thought I would stop in and see if I could find a nice outfit for work. I was disappointed to see the lack of inventory/ selection compared to what they had carried before. It took me no time at all to walk through the ladies clothing floor, as there was not much to see, and left without purchasing.
I went there with the stuff online. They dont honor the prices at Macy has on mine. The staff there is not even knowledge what all about perfume. This is the first store that I thought would be a nice car because its so expensive but yet it was a total failure. I could have went to Walmart and had a better experience than this
Worst customer service ever. I have requested to close my Macys Amex account because i wont reward poor customer service with business. I was treated rudely and the salesperson that was initially handling my return made sure to speak loud enough so that everyone in the store could hear in an attempt to make me feel stupid i assume. After speaking with other salespeople i was told that even though i had ripped the tags off, since i had the receipt, i should have been able to return it especially since it was defective. Anyway i contacted Levis and they exchanged it with no problem and provided me the shipping label so it didnt cost me anything.
This store is beautiful and the service was great. I bought a beautiful Michael Korrs handbag and wallet. I didnt look at any clothes although I know the quality is better without looking. I was surprised at how much it cost to shop quality. Even on sale my total bill was around $160 - but it will hold up. The purse came with its own storage bag. Gone are the days of the tissue paper wrap and the gold sticker. Macys is a better store with a large selection and a nice atmosphere - I recommend them.
This has nothing to do with service, employees were excellent. Its the store and the merchandise in it. Macys has long forgotten about the store in Rockford. Not even a real shoe department anymore. Its become a bargain dumping ground of other stores castoffs. You could make it an opportunity to serve our area with quality merchandise and selection, but you are taking the low, easy road. The store needs to be cleaned and cared for. And your potential customers need to be thought of. Keep it as it is and you will accomplish your goal of blaming poor sales and lack of customers when you close the doors. How about making a quality commitment to the Rockford area and be the premiere department store that is needed in this area. Its easy to do what youre doing now.
I guess the girl who took care of me could take more front desk training classes. l guess she was tired. I went there to shop this past Monday around 4pm. Her attitude seemed bothered by me. She acted more like she was a queen. Im glad I didnt go alone. She made me put my credit card 3 times saying that I took my credit card out too fast before she was ready. Anyway I said to her mmm thats strange my daughter works here at the mall too! Then she said oh really, then she soften her attitude a little, not much. I dont think Ill come back to this store. Not s big fan! Went to make a purchase but they could not mach their own on line Price! Its the same store, why would you not want to drive customer traffic into your store! The purchase was just over $800.00! When I left the store I saw a Sur la Top A cook ware store..... I made a purchase and am quit happy....
Extremely disappointed after searching for a wedding band with my fiancé we asked to compare my engagement ring to the wedding band and was asked to wait until the employee called a manager to be present. I understand the security aspect of the situation, however the manager stood beside the employee as if he was her bodyguard. We find this interesting considering the fact my engagement ring was purchased from Rockford Macy’s and had a different experience. Extremely heartbroken by this experience.
Not enough staff inside I didnt get any assistance I just wasnt happy with the experience at all. The only reason I gave them three stars was because they have quality products but the service is lacking. When you can find someone to service you. This only happens in Rockford I go to the suburbs I never have this issue. Kenny
I have been shopping here for years and the last year it has not been a pleasant experience. I look around for a while and no one asks if they can help me. The racks are either picked over or they dont get much stock. If I go to the cosmetics counter either I dont see anyone working at the counter or I have to wait a while to be helped. Several times I have come for items they are out of stock and cant say when theyll be getting more in.
Love going here to shop. But Ive noticed the last few times Ive been shopping there. Ive been snubbed. So I kindly to my money else where. Love their products, clothes,shoes & ect. But if you want my money you have to be kind. Maybe next time. Oh PS. Only one dressing area upstairs.
I ordered an item online, picked it up at the store, went to try it on and they had sent the wrong size. I am very disappointed in their picking team at the warehouse. I havent been able to look online to see about getting another one yet. I was able to return it right there. The store personnel were wonderful, and the store itself was beautiful!
I wasnt too pleased with the setvice yesterday, which is rare. I purchased an electric kitchen appliance, and the sales clerk didnt even ask if I wanted to use any coupons -- I had to tell him to hold on. When the available coupons came up on the screen, I asked him what could I use, and he told me to try all of them, to see what theyd take. Then, I ALWAYS get my receipt emailed, without even asking; however, I was given one after my purchase. If I was ever waited on by that sales clerk, Id put the merchandise down and leave.
Macys is OK. They have a lot of different offerings, but the store lacks atmosphere. Its almost like a retail carnival whose season never ends! Theres a lot of lights, flash, and glam.....and absolutely no substance. A lot like Hollywood! Or DC! But if they want to survive, maybe they should worry a little less about carrying EVERYTHING, and focus more on creating reasons to make their customers WANT to be there! But, hey.....I was born and raised in Chicago, so I wish Macys had just stayed in New York! 😁
Their clothes are pretty good, and priced well. My favorite thing is the prices and the costumer service is on the dot. The chains are over priced but the people there were making sure I had the right chain if I wanted it which made me feel better about all of it. Even though its connected to the mall its still kind of like the hood, I would make sure youre safe so you dont get shot up like the other times and be aware and careful of your surroundings. Just dont mess with the wrong people and youre good. Like I said the customer service they are really helpful and they will ask more questions in other items even if youre just standing around aimlessly which makes buying stuff, easier. Nice place and good atmosphere but stay safe, its not Iceland, its rockford
We stopped into the shoe department today around 5:45pm. We approached a lady that was putting shoes on the shelf and asked if she could help us get a size for a pair of boots. She said she was too busy putting shoes away so we dont trip and we needed to stand in line at a register to ask for shoe sizes. Id like to point out there were no shoes my ng around, the lady wasnt helping anyone and we were expected to stand in line behind several people to ask for a shoe size, then try it on and then get back in line to change the size or buy them. I thought it was rude and unfriendly. Ive never had that happen anywhere else. So I put the boots back and walked out. Im sure Macys could care less about one person, but they should. A lady in the mens department overheard my husband and I talking about it. She was apologetic, but never offered to get a manager or anything.
Asia helped me in the shoe department. She deserves a promotion. I have a bad spine. She helped me try the shoes I wanted. Took them off and then helped me put my socks and shoes back on. Her service was excellent and she was so sincere. She definitely deserves some type of award. This was the Cherryvale Mall in Rockford ❤️
I was appalled when I entered the fitting room with 2 items. Just as I locked the door, Cathy yelled at me that I had to get out now... she then was complainin out loud that she had to get that room clean. So I said okay and went in another room. The first time I went in the other room it was full of clothes. She was obviously not happy working in your store. As for me I decided to go elsewhere to shop.
The stars are from my wife. I wasnt at Macys. My wife had my phone, and I was at home. However my wife and daughter just discovered Macys, and love it. I may go there myself when in the neighborhood. By the way people I had nothing to hide on my phone. If I did I wouldnt be alive right now writing this post.
Really do not like Macys went to the shoe department and waited and waited and waited and waited. No assistance but there is a lady named Phyllis that works there she has worked there for ever and ever she is the only reason I still shop at Macys because of her kindness so five star because of Phyllis one star for any other department because you can never find people to help you.
Bergners was closed, so I have to shop at Macys. Some people are nice, but most of them are not. Some people are just so rude. One time I was tried to return a legging at the clothing department. The clerk told me Oh you cant return here, you have to go downstair, we have our return counter near shoes department. And the same clerk when I asked for a price check. She told me Oh we have a machine for a price check. I told her where it is, could you show me?. Then she took me to the one and that was not working. I told her I had tried it, if it worked, I did not need her to check then she did not say anything after that. Another department is Cosmetics. I bought some things at Clinique, asked for some samples, the clerk said they did not have any samples, while another customer she gave them a whole punch and said here were some samples for you while you wait to pick up your reserve. I was like really??? That is how Macys is running by rude people. That is why people are going to buy stuff online. Dont blame Walmart or Amazon ruining the retails.
Great selection, but the place is dirty. Literally, filthy. I think my girlfriend might have caught a foot fungus from the dressing rooms. I dont believe the carpets have been shampooed in decades, much less vacuumed. There was an almond on the floor in the dressing room. An almond. Seriously.
One of the ladys from the parfum/ cologne department new what she was talking about and even wrapped up what my son and I got and we turned around and bought some more perfume from another worker and they refused to wrap up that perfume and I told her well the other lady just wrapped up our stuff and she said well each perfume/cologne company is different they all dont pay for them to be wrapped up,like hello lady I just spent well over 500 dollars on 3 things and you cant be nice and wrap them up even if that company didnt pay someone to do it,makes me not want to buy anything from you again because Im not gonna spend the money to pay your paycheck how about that,no business no check
When I first moved out here, I needed a certain lipstick shade from Clinique which I usually get from Macy’s. However, the sales person at the Clinique counter told me that it was discontinued. So I went to Bergner’s and found it there. So now, I don’t shop at Macy’s at CherryValley anymore.

2022-06-02If I could give 0 stars I would. About a week ago I purchased a custom couch from Macys that would take about 20 weeks to make. The next day I found out the information the sales person gave me about shipping was incorrect and I had to spend 2 days trying to get that fixed. Then a couple days later I found out the information about how and when I would be charged was incorrect. I was charged for the entire purchase right away. It was supposed to be a deposit and a pending charge now and the pending charge would drop off. I was charged for the entire purchase right away. I have spent 2 days now trying to fix this issue. Half the customer service people I spoke to said yes, I was charged but there is nothing they can do about it and the other half said that I wasnt charged. My bank has assured me that I have been charged and it never came in as an authorization and the only way to fix it now is for Macys to give a credit. When I was standing at the register i told the sales person that the register said it was charging and I was ignored. At this point, I dont even care if the couch is nice, it was not worth the rudeness of the customer service people and the head aches I have been through. I am sure I am not done either. This is going to be a long 20 weeks! We will never shop with them again. RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN!!!!Update - I spoke to someone that made me conference in my bank to confirm the charge was actually a charge. Once that was confirmed they took my information to give me a credit. The credit never came and now they are telling me there are no notes from my past 10 calls and we are still going to be charged again when the couch is done. Now I have to start all over proving we were charged. All I get from them at this point is put a super long holds and being constantly disconnected. I will be calling corporate but I dont have much faith.

2022-03-30Love Macys! It has always been my go to store for almost everything. Unfortunately they stopped carrying plus sizes on elegant dresses and now their plus sizes in everyday wear has become really limited. Before you think anything, I fought stage IV NSCLC, Im in menopause and dont have a thyroid so losing weight is really not an option right now. I hate the fact that most probably Ill have to change my go to store....😢

2022-03-25Was at the Rockford store at Cherry Valley Mall on 3/2/2022. Was buying cloths for my son and having special sizes ordered and sent to his home. Took over an hour due to their system would not take my debit card. I had more then enough in my account. Tried for over an hour before giving up and just paying with cash. Next thing I know my bank is pending charges on my account the next day. Go to Macys and they call manager, who states it will go back in my account in 10 days. I’m like what he’s not coming down here to tell me my money is being held up for 10 days. No apology, no card with name and direct line, no discount for their system issue given. So I ask him to come down. Sure enough it didn’t go through our system because I must have taken my card out to soon! My fault, not theirs. My son was with and the sales rep confirmed it wasn’t my fault. This manager does not care about the customers, nor admit it could be their fault. So here I am out a couple hundred for over a week. Not happy at all!

2022-05-29I used to love shopping here still do but the experience wasnt so great. I hadnt been here in a while and I remembered quickly what my last experience was like. The workers were dressed like they worked at Walmart and were more focused on dancing to tiktoc than noticing they had a customer. The bathrooms were disgusting, I couldnt even use them. Every toilet was filled with feces. The store just didnt have that regal feel it had always been known for. Sad

2022-06-21I had the Best Service ever!!! went there to shop for a purse for my Wifes birthday and ther She was... This Young Girl 🧑🦱 that helped me to choose that special gift 🎁 for my Wife 😊 She has a Beautiful name but Har to remember 🤔🤔 anyway She is the best 👌 100%😉

2022-07-04Small selection of mens dress pants in black, service was ok but not good when asked questions very minimal assistance. We left without a purchase because of these reasons.

2022-06-20There floors behind the jewelry counters were NASTY, STAINS, DISGUSTING LOOKING. I never ever seen Carsons, JCPenny, or Marshall Fields floors look like this. THIS TELLS ME MACYS DO NOT CARE ABOUT APPEARANCE OR STAINS.. SAD

2022-02-06Purpose of visit was a mail order return. Lady came over to assist me right away. Noticed that many of the shelves and display areas appear to be full of product again, good selection. Still seems to be lack of staff or floor help...
