Carman has been doing my hair (weaves) for the last 3 years. I would to Carmen about 3-4 times a year.I will give credit where credit is due. Carman can do some hair (weaves). Im never disappointed when I leave the chair.On the customer service side, Carmen needs a bit of work. In the last three years, I have never been late. Today was the first time I was late 25 minutes late to be exact. (Im clear that I was late. I travel from the north side of Chicago to the south suburbs to do my hair). I attempted to call Carmen to inform her, there was no answer. When I arrived I was told that I would have to pay a late fee to be serviced. Secondly Carmen informed me she charged my card a no show fee!!!!Carmen recently started using Styleseat to book her appointments. I have only used the site one other time prior to todays appointment. So I was not aware that she would be charging me.I did not appreciate the following: 1. In order to be serviced I would be charged a late fee. 2. Being charged a no show fee or cancellation fee for being late where no service was rendered. (I will be looking into the service agreement on styleseat and I will be contacting my bank.)I would have appreciated some sort of leeway. Especially because I been coming to her for 3 years and there has never been a time I was late before today.The other issue I have. When I arrive on time. Im not service at the time of my appointment. I have waited 30mins-1hour for my appointment in the past. My appointment today was at 1245, I arrived 110. And she was sewing someones hair in I would have been waiting regardless.Great hair stylist, poor customer service. She lost a client. Not that she cares.
I went in to get a quick weave with a closure. The closure is covering my entire forehead. I asked the stylist Jocelyn to push the closure back and she told me she couldnt cus I over- processed my hair. It looks like I threw a wig on my head lop-sided. I will never go there again! Lost a great customer.
The best hair salon in the area!!! Honestly They need their own TV show it was amazing the whole way through!! From beginning til the end I felt like I was home!!! Amber thank you for booking us!! Last minute!!❤️❤️❤️🥰 we will be back!! 💯💯
“Styles by Josalyn LCC”. Josalyn did my hair today and I’m very impressed. After booking an appointment through the “Booksy App,” I wasn’t happy I had to pay $60, but money well spent! The hair salon is pretty, the tools they use are up-to-date, the hairstylists take care of you and are very attentive. Josalyn thoroughly washed my hair, dried and combed it out without hurting me, and flat-ironed my hair nicely into a curly ponytail. My hair is very long and thick but Josalyn took care of it in under 2 hours! I was in and out, and looked good. I will definitely be coming back👍🏿.
The atmosphere in this salon is very unsettling. The workers are very unprofessional and rude. I would not recommend this place to anyone. They are childish and have not a clue on how to conduct a business.
I would definitely go again. They do great braids, weaves, ponytails and more. Reasonable pricing and located across from a beauty supply for convenience.
Very ghetto and unprofessional!! The owner is very childish... certain workers does not wear mask during servicing in this pandemic! Never throw around you the owner of the shop but rents an apartment!

This is the beauty supply store in Markham it is so huge in the inside I told somebody to take 2 days to walk around in there to get whatever you need but it is really nice it is really huge they have everything come and check it out its on 159th and Kedzie in Markham

The owner of the shop is just so rude she talk rude everything she say is in a rude way even if it isn’t rude she mug all day it’s the energy for me u can just tell she off
Went in today with My sister to pick her up and was shocked at how her hair looked an over 100 dollar hair style looked like a 29.99 wig from beauty supply store went back in to explain to stylist that she was going out and could she try to fix the problem immediately she blamed my sister and told her no matter what she does it will look like a wig told her to figure it out and that she had to check on her other client never been a customer here and never will.
Both Toni and Josalyn are great and will not have you waiting!

2022-06-10TERRIBLE experience, the last time I Went the amber girl was ALWAYS late, never apologized and had the nerve to ask me if I wanted my hair washed like that’s not a part of the service! I booked again because I needed a quick ponytail and couldn’t think of any other shop. I booked with Carmen and she canceled my appointment to tell me the shop isn’t open on Mondays?! So why are you books available for MONDAY! Just very very ghetto and unprofessional

2020-12-28Our 1st time visiting this shop. You can tell the group women are good friends but very unprofessional and ghetto. The stylist did a good job on my daughters hair but well never go back.

2021-11-08Very unprofessional very unpleasant My stylist was Amber she was 32 mins late didn’t apologize didn’t even care she was late.. made a snarky comment about my real hair .. sat me under the dryer 20 mins past my timer while she went to get food.. didn’t move fast until I told her I had somewhere to be.

2021-04-08Distressed locs by Carrie lasted one day & then unraveled. Asked for waist length and got shoulder length. Took 8 hours. Appointment was at 9 and due to miscommunication didn’t see stylist until 10:30. Worst salon experience I’ve ever had.

2021-07-06Hate every second of this place…. Ghetto and very unprofessional. It took 5 hours to get my hair done and the tracks was coming out when I made it home. They play and talk so much that they can’t focus on their job. I will never go back and I will never recommend this rachet place to anyone. A waste of money and time.

2020-07-01Hello.I just want to warn future clients of Mrs. Carrie Wiley, although she looks different in person compared to her picture on this profile. I initially had an appointment to get my Faux locs completed. I was on time but she didnt start until 15-20 minutes later. No apologies from her.I had my own hair, had already did the braiding part so she only had to do the wrapping part. My hair didnt get done because she didnt like the hair I had, human hair. I had purchased two different brands of human hair.She didnt like the shorter length kinky bulk and told me she couldnt do my hair. She said she didnt even know what it was. Lol. If you are a stylist you should know. I asked her if she just didnt want to do my hair or was it the hair, she said the hair. So I asked her if she would be able to do it if I purchased more of the other kinky bulk hair that I had and she said, Yes. Mind you, this is human hair. I purchased more hair, text her for an appointment and havent heard from her. Ive wasted $$$..Be aware of stylists not wearing masks. Ill be filing a complaint, Im out of $$$.

2021-04-28Love this shop! Cool environment, clean, staff is very nice, noone is rude. Carmen always gets me right with the sew ins, theyre natural looking, never bulky and it lasts. Everyone leaves the shop looking gorgeous 🤗
