I think it’s very clear that this store is understaffed and it makes me sick to see who ever is in charge having the store open and overworking the people they do have. I waiting on something for 2 hours that I paid cash for. Every reason I got was “no managers are here tovday, everyone called in”. I’ve work in retail and it’s unacceptable to have no manager. The workers in here wouldn’t even know what to do if there was an emergency and that is obvious.
Lowes has a good selection and provides for in-store pick up and curbside pick-up. Sometimes there is a wait in line to check out but it is usually manageable. I received a delivery of an appliance recently and was not impressed. I also did an in store pick up and that went fairly well. I would recommend you give them a try.
We have purchased two pair of washer - dryer sets from Lowes, a $1500 pair and a $2800 pair. The lesser set had to be exchanged for a different brand due to GE not longer producing a quality product. Lowes did this for us no questions asked. Home Depot designates many if not most units as non-returnable. Watch out! How would you know that a GE washing machine sounds like a cement mixer by looking at it on the showroom floor? We also bought our refrigerator at Lowes. And everything else. For a reason.
Ordered some shelf boards and did curbside pick up. Checked in and waited 20 minutes, nothing. Checked again and said they were still preparing order, waited another 20 minutes. Checked again and said this time there was a problem and needed to come inside to complete order pick-up. So went inside and it still took over 30 minutes to get the order.
Very unsafe in the greenhouse where we were looking at heaters. We are seriously thinking about sueing. The 4 large overhead blowers came on as we walked thru the rubber doors. The bowers had such velocity that it sucked the doors violently as my friend was walking thru. The wind pulled the doors in a manor that spun my friend around in a 180, pulled her shoe off, thru her to the concrete where her eyes glasses flew off her head as her head hit the concrete, leaving her limping & stunned & all of us shocked. We Tried 2 tell management. No manager would leave their managers meeting 2 come talk 2 us. Guess they could care less about customer safety. Guess their meeting was more important than customer safety.
Ordered a Christmas gift on 12/8, was delivered to store on 12/15, I ordered professional assembly and was told they put me on a waitlist for assembly on 12/27 after I called the store to follow up since it showed delivered to the store weeks prior. On 1/5 I received an email it was ready. I called to be sure it was ready since I lived about 45 minutes away, I had to call 5 times to get to a person, who assured me it was assembled, she checked. I went to pick up and tried to get ahold of curbside to bring it out, they never answered the phone. When I went into the store the customer service person - I am fairly sure the same gal who told me it was assembled - seemed annoyed to be dealing with me. They brought me what you see in the photos - the item unassembled. I ended up leaving the store without the item as the box looked banged up and they said they could try and find another. At that point I had spoken to 4 different people at the store while they tried to figure out what to do, even though I was told they had more on site they kept having to ask someone else, after 45 minutes it seemed like a lost cause. I would have taken it unassembled at that point, but the box damage was concerning since it was a metal item. Negative experience. I would encourage people to shop elsewhere, there was a lot of confusion and miscommunication between their own team members.
Updating to lower review...Was there tonight and we came in with the intention to buy some cabinets and paint (~$700). Took 30 mins to find someone to talk to, because only one person working. We gave up, and went to paint. We called for help, no one came, and after 20 mins more we gave up on that too. Also, the lights randomly shut off in the whole store, and have on multiple occassions... raising it a star, because Ive had a few good experiences since.Original Post:Ive always gotten very good service at this Lowes. Everyone seems to be knowledgeable about their products and where things are. Im not very impressed with the lumber, which is why I would knock it down from 5 stars. Selection and customer service gets 5 stars, lumber is about a 3. Many warped boards, caused me to have to return for more pieces on woodworking projects. Menards for untreated 4x4s, and 2x4s. I did find better 2x10s at Lowes, but that was it. You can skip visiting Home Depot in my opinion. Lowes is always my first stop for any DIY project.
Wife and I went to this Lowes and we were definitely impressed. The staff was extremely helpful and kind. We got there close to the time they were closing but didnt feel rushed at all. They had some good sales going on and great prices on tools and lumber. The store was very neat and clean.
This is absolutely the worst place to buy appliances from!! Just go to menards and pay more for delivery because Lowe’s free delivery is a joke. Lowe’s blames the third party delivery service and the delivery service blamed Lowe’s. I do not care who is to blame but I need my appliances. Now they are saying that they don’t have any in stock when I set up delivery over a month ago. I keep calling and get transferred and hung up on. At this time I feel like they are stealing from me because I already paid for my appliances and they don’t have them and don’t know when they will? Can’t even get anyone to answer for a refund. DO NOT GO HERE
One star is too many! I ordered flooring on 9/3 and for 5 weeks spent hours on the phone with the flooring department trying to get the flooring delivered. Their lack of communication and non-caring attitudes placed my move 10 days later than expected. I even gave them the opportunity to rectify the situation after the floors were installed and was told it wasnt their problem. Im not sure how poor customer service and communication by your staff is not your problem but clearly they do not want repeat business. I would never buy flooring from them again. Nor will I be buying anything from them.
Really difficult to locate sales associates on the sales floor once an associate is located they try to be helpful but are not helpful locating items - wrong aisles and locations given - then the process starts again to locate help-very frustrating. But the redeeming quality of the Cashier was great super helpful and extremely friendly! She is the reason you got 4 Stars reg 9 6:17 pm 5/31
Im disappointed in the flooring area. The samples are high up, the lighting is dim and I really couldnt tell the color. It looked brown and white. Now its installed in our rebuilt home after total lose in house fire last year. Unfortunately, my flooring is grey and white. I HATE IT !!!
Worst customer service!!!!!! Manger Ron was horrible with even working with us and then his manger Eli promised and didnt deliver!We ordered a dishwasher online and they delivered it with damages, then wanted us to buy a new one before they would refund us for the damaged one. Promised to swap out the damaged for a new one, two weeks later we still have no dish washer.On hold with the store for over an hour, also they hung up on my twice, then on hold with corporate for another hour!!!! Beyond disappointed and upset!!!
DEFECT APPLIANCE AND REFUSES TO EXCHANGE OR ACCEPT RETURN! I received my new range, the delivery company was suppose to install and they didnt have the tools and knowledge to install the gas range. Ive had it less than a week. The igniter for the burner is defective and I receive error code when I try to use the oven. I have called the store on multiple occasions to be pushed off to an assistant manager to call me and of course they dont. I need a replacement or a refund! Maybe someone will respond to me if they see this rating. If I could give zero stars I would! I FEEL RIPPED OFF FOR ALMOST 2K. booooo
Looked online if they had closet doors before going to get some. The website said that they had 14 in stocks. When at the store, they didnt have any of them out on the floor and when asked, they said that they did not have any in stock but that they could special order them for $300 each. Went back home and purchased two doors online for pickup for $75 each and they were ready for pickup a few hours later. The staff is always nice but not very knowledgeable and usually cant help when I ask questions.
Lowes delivery is bad. This is not the first time they failed their date of delivery without any explanation. I thought they should have improved from 2 years ago when I first was disappointed with their service, but no, not at all. I blame myself why I went there to purchase another appliance this time (June and July 2021).
After our purchase of a refrigerator delivery was supposed to be week later. Shipments came in damaged. Went in store personally had models on floor. Told another week after scheduled delivery call before. No call finally after almost three weeks delivery. Communication NOT A STRONG SUIT!!! got refrigerator today delivery men ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!! huge THANK YOU!!!
They had a great selection of landscaping items for great prices. The employees were friendly and helpful, even though it was a very busy that day. I needed a couple of price adjustments, and they were taken care of without questions. I bought quite a bit of mulch and top soil;. There were employees to help load everything into my Jeep, which was much appreciated! I had gone to another big box stores the prior weekend, and I had to load it all myself. I will be shopping here for all my outdoor needs this summer!
I like this store a lot, but two of my pickup items were cancelled because they were out of stock, even though the website thought they were. Also, aisle 3 bay 6 does not contain clamp-on work lights, so that should be updated. But you have the cheapest organic container soil and an impressive collection of plastic storage tubs and bird feed, so like, the good outweighs the inconvenient.Staff is nice, store was pretty busy around lunchtime, so Id reccomend a different time if youre avoiding crowds.
I really wanted to find something positive with my experience buying appliances here but Im struggling. I had difficulty getting in contact with the appliance department numerous times and customer service refused to help me. They kept transferring me back to appliances who would not answer then roll over to customer service, then said she had never talked to me before as soon as I asked for a manager. Make sure you show up in the store anytime you need something or theyll give you the runaround.
I really wanted to buy a dishwasher here today. I was greatest by a man in the appliances department who was friendly. I asked him about delivery and installation. Then I wanted to browse.I found one I really liked and couldnt find anyone to answer questions. I walked to another department and the guy was helping someone else but asked if I had a quick question. But he was not sure if the answer and said he could help me in a bit. I thanked him and found another free associate. I got yet another answer. I then went to customer service and that lady told me a 3rd answer.I left, went to Best Buy and bought a better dishwasher at a lower price from a very knowledgeable and friendly sales associate names Bryan. Lowes made it clear that they dont put stock in educating their associates on their products and services. Nor do they staff their departments well on weekends.Needless to say I wont return.
One of the worst displays of customer service that I have ever been involved in. Kitchen was installed June 15th. Our kitchen is still not complete, with no idea if and when replacement parts will be in. Only wish I could give them a zero. Will use Home Depot or Menards for any other purchase of any size. Lowes has the last of my money.
I am upgrading my previous low score mainly because of the new store manager Jennifer(?). I had so much trouble getting a mower delivered that I called the corporate office. I got a call from the store manager the next day and she really worked hard to get me a mower that did not look like it had been used before I got it. I got a new Craftsman t240 that was still in the crate and it seems to be working great so far. She even gave me some money back for all the trouble I had. Hopefully, she can turn this store around. First of all, I bought a Craftsman riding lawn mower and only mowed my yard once before it stopped working. That was not Lowe’s fault. But what happened next was. I upgraded the lawn mower I wanted but they delivered the same model that I was returning. I ordered a little trailer for it and it was on back order. After waiting a few weeks they delivered the lawn mower I wanted but it was scratched up on the deck and one of the deck wheels had obviously been worn. It was filthy and the decals on the cowling were wrinkled up and coming off. I sent it back and still did not get the trailer. I had not heard anything from them about when another mower would be delivered so I went to the store. At first, customer service told me they had no record of my purchases (a total of nearly $2,000.00). One women even told another worker that she could not find the purchases I “supposedly” ordered. I did not react well to that statement and I let her know it. The second person was not having any luck either searching for my order. They must have asked me three times if I ordered it in the store and I said yes three times. Fortunately for me, I could see the screen and I pointed out both the mower and the trailer to the associate. Then she tells me the trailer will be delivered the following Thursday. When I pressed her about the mower, she looked at the screen again and said the trailer was still on back order. So I asked, what about the mower? After about ten or fifteen seconds, she says it is the mower that will be delivered? I cannot believe the shoddy service I have received and then to be accused of pulling some kind of scam on top of everything else. Who knows exactly what will show up on Thursday, and I hope I get my trailer before the turn of the next century. Well guess what...Lowe’s delivered the same mower that I sent back the last time!!! I talked to delivery about it and they were just plain rude. I think it is time for a refund!!!!!
Lowes had a lady come to my home for an estimate on new siding and gutters. She never gave me the estimate, did not respond to an email, did not respond to voicemail. HORRIBLE customer service. I will avoid shopping there and/or using any of their professional services.
Store is always clean and usually find what I need. However when shopping inside the garden center, I heard an employee actually yell at a couple that they could not enter here and had to go through the store. I continued my shopping inside and then walked out to the front display and picked up two flowers and back in to pay for my purchase. She then yelled at me that I couldnt come back in. When telling her I was ready to pay, she yelled go around through the store. I understand social distancing measures - not her rude manner. Get a better process or a nicer employee.
I lowered my rating. The store is badly organized. There are a large number emoloyees who seen intent to get in your way. The mens room was block by a floor cleaning machine. Just difficult to get around, do to some a reset I believe, maybe a roof leak. Hopefully, thing will improve, but for now I will avoid this Lowes location.
Ive given Lowes a few chances, because I understand not everyone that works there is going to be an expert on hardware, tools, or appliances. Some are just kids needing a job. But it seems like every time I go there I cant find anyone to help me get product pulled or answer a basic question. The last straw was ordering a washing machine online. Lowes was the only appliance store in the area that had the one I wanted in stock, so I ordered it in the morning for store pick up later that day. As my wife pulled into the parking lot, I pulled up the order email to get the order number for her. The order had been cancelled. There was no phone call, no email, no text. And the original order had gone through, I had a confirmation email that I was charged for it and they were pulling the item for me to pick up. I had to open my original email and go through a few links before I realized the total charged was now changed to $0.00. Then looked and saw they had cancelled the order. After 20 minutes on the phone with the customer service desk, because no other department would answer the phone, she told me they mistakenly thought the item was in stock. When they realized it wasnt, they cancelled the order entirely. I asked if they normally would call someone to let them know the order had to be cancelled and she said she didnt know what their protocol is, but that would probably have been a good idea. I told her thanks for having them look into it for me, and she told me I was welcome and to have a good day bye. Not, would you like to order the washer for delivery? I dont blame the employees, because Im sure she was just doing what she knew how to do, and the employee in the appliance department same thing, but there seems to be no management or training at this store. There are lots of other options in Champaign-Urbana, and that is why I rarely shop at Lowes and probably wont again.
Very unhappy with my kitchen sink disconnect and reconnect!!The worlds worst, save your money and go with someone else!!! Hillards was hired by Lowes to disconnect my kitchen sink and reconnect the new one. Two young ladies arrived, disconnected the plumbing, acted like she wasnt sure what she was doing, turned off the water, but let water run all over the cabinet. Came back later same day, didnt have the baskets for the reconnect, Mr. Hillard came back out to reconnect the next day, with one of the young ladies. He was in the process of reconnecting the garbage disposal, when she popped her head up, and said sir, your going to need a new disposal. They had broken the garbage disposal where the pipe attachment is. Put it back together broken, and closed up the cabinets. Went to leave, said that they were done. I ran water in the left side of sink, was leaking! She adjusted after I pointed it out. I rechecked, and turned on the disposal, leaking from where they broke it. They said well thats your disposal, it was working fine before they arrived. I said I was not signing, and Im not happy with the work. They left me with a leaking kitchen sink. no way to do dishes. Still waiting for Lowes to resolve this problem. Very very unhappy!!! Oh and the was $470.00!!! Run!!
The one star is for customer service and delivery. I was told I’d get a call the day prior to delivery with a “window” for delivery. Didn’t happen. Called in the AM and was told they had 4 out of town deliveries and those get done 1st so it would likely be in the afternoon and they would call about 30min prior to delivery. Arranged for someone to be home all afternoon. Didn’t get a call and no one has showed. It’s early evening so I call the store to inquire on a possible time. The worm put me on hold for over 10min. Came back to the phone not realizing it was me and said “customer service”. My response was “you put me on hold to check on my delivery” and then I was immediately placed back on hold. Waited another 9 minutes and finally hung up and attempted to call back. Must have gotten the same customer service gal because after she answered and I started to explain why I was calling I heard music and obviously was put on hold. Such poor customer service. I honesty hope the calls are recorded because I was not loud, did not cuss or speak rudely. Lowe’s has lost my businessStill have not had my dishwasher delivered.
This Champaign Lowes is the worst for customer service .. ask for help getting an item from top rack and 4 associates say yes we will come help after we help this guy first with the same deal of an item out of our reach.. then no body comes to help after asking several times..no body shows.. when he says yes right after we help this guy . It takes 5 or you to help get an item? The worst service now twice in less than a year.. just close it down if yall dont care
Lowes is our go-to for all of our household needs. Add far as availability of items, variety, and price, Lowes would be a 5 star for me. Plus we love how veteran friendly they are, and their customer service is generally fantastic.The reason I didnt give 5 stars was because of their installation services. We had a fence installed and the whole process with Lowes was horrendous. Uncoordinated, uncommunicative, and unprofessional. The contractors they hired were good, and in the end we (mostly) had the fence we wanted. But we will probably never go through Lowes for services again. I know several friends that had the same experience, too.Even with that being said, I still prefer to go to Lowes for basic household needs (tools, paint, decorations, outdoor, etc.). I will continue to shop here and I definitely recommend Lowes.
If you’re wanting to use Lowe’s pro services for your fence, I would not recommend you doing so unless you enjoy disappointment. Went to the store to talk about fencing and have someone come to my house for measurements and had it scheduled for the end of the week. The day came and Lowe’s was a no show, a week later I received a phone call saying that they heard I would Like to schedule a home visit for fence measurement. I reschedule for the end of that week and again a second no show. Called the pro guy, his name was Matt, and left a voicemail. 1 week later from that and I still have not heard back. So again if you’re looking for a waste of time and some disappointment. Choose Lowe’s pro services.
I had a complicated return issue and Sylvia was a big help. I was very impressed with her customer service - very patient and went the extra mile to figure out a solution.Also, thank you to Ron for helping me with my mower questions. He was very friendly and helpful.Thank you to both for providing impressive customer service. I will do my home improvement shopping with Lowes moving forward.
Ordered an appliance package. Never called to schedule delivery, when i called no one could provide any details. Finally called one day (while i was at work) and said theyd be at my house in 10 minutes. Rushed out of work and met them, and they didnt have everything that i ordered (missing dishwasher) that was 10 days ago, still havent delivered a dishwasher yet, tomorrow will be one MONTH ago that i ordered (and paid) for these appliances.Might be a good store for other items, but id stay away from appliances or anything that needs to be delivered, in my experience.
I ordered a shed online to be delivered to my house from this store. I received an e-mail acknowledging the order, and which also said I would be receiving a call to arrange delivery. After hearing nothing for a few days, I go to the store to find out whats going on. I had to talk to several people before getting someone who could actually help. They couldnt understand why it hadnt been delivered because it was in stock, and scheduled the delivery for Friday (this was a Wednesday). They explained I would be getting a phone call the night before giving me a 2 hour window, and the driver would call 1/2 hour before he shows up. 4:00 on Friday I have heard nothing. I go to the store, and the person at the customer service desk says he cant pull the order up there and directed me to the pick up desk. The person I had spoken to Wednesday was able to pull up my order from the customer service desk. As Im waiting in line at the pick-up counter, the driver calls to let me know my order wasnt going to be delivered today, and also mentions that he wasnt able to find my order. So I explain all this to the guy at the pick-up desk. He goes to look for my order, and after a while comes back to tell me its no longer in stock and that the item has been discontinued so all he can do is cancel the order. I wont be shopping here again.
Purchased a washer and electric dryer. Lowes delivered and installed. The wiring on the dryer is not secured with a clamp. The wire hangs out the back vulnerable to be cut from the vibration of the dryer. I have been in the store three times with a picture of the wiring over the past 6weks. No repair, no phone call, no service. I also purchased a dishwasher in January, still need refrigerator, range and microwave but they wont be bought at Lowes.
Bought fridge ,vanity, and medicine cabinet. Was told free delivery so I said great. Salesman said everything in stock but would take a week for delivery.i was fine with that. Was told I would get a call the night before.I did not, didnt get a call the next morning either. My wife calls, finally getting ahold of someone, she was told between 1&5. 4 hour window, and they still cant get it here. Called store again said it would be another 2 to 21/2 hours unbelievable . Never again. Morons
If you need help, theyll help you.If you want to be left alone, they wont bother you.Picked up a grill here, massive unit. Had to lift it into the back of a pick up because they built it for me. I was worried Id have to call up some people. But they were awesome and sent out 8 guys to lift the thing into the truck for me. Great service.
I have enjoyed every time that I have gone to Lowes. The quality of their products are very high. The appeal of their so store is also high. The stores are very clean, warm, and welcoming. The services are good. I have noticed that with most of my projects some are able to help me but not all are able to give me specific information about their products which can be extremely important in many projects.
We bought a dishwasher that the salesman said was in stock, but when the day of delivery and install came, we got the call telling us that it wasnt in stock. So, now we have to wait an unknown amount of days or weeks and then scramble to have someone here.I will never make another appliance purchase from Lowes again. Their customer service is horrid. They just shouldnt be trusted.
Free delivery and haul away availability has always been a great perk. Love the memorial day sales the most. And thank you for always treating me and my entire family amazing especially after I arrived during the Quaretine Pandemic on 5/14/20 after Menards barred me from coming in because I had to shop with my 5 year old. Your staff went above and beyond with their kindness. My family also enjoys the militay discount you offer. Thank You for your service.
We ordered replacement windows through Lowe’s in Champaign, IL. We asked for 10 windows plus a sky light to be replaced. On installation day, only 8 had been ordered and delivered and no sky light in sight, but they did deliver the shingles for the skylight installation. Four months after the estimate for skylight replacement And countless rounds of phone tag between the store, salesman, and customer service, we’re told Lowe’s doesn’t install skylights. Funny, because the skylight window we ordered is sitting at the store ready to be picked up, for which we indeed were charged; I had to do the run-around to get the charge taken off our bill. Fast forward another 2 months and we still don’t have the additional 2 windows or skylight. No one will return our calls to Lowe’s or the contractor. Never again will we use Lowe’s installation services, or give them our business for anything else.
It took literally 40 min to do a curbside pickup and I had to go inside the store to get my curbside pickup. They didnt have a pickup person scheduled for the night. She asked if I wanted someone to help load and I said no thank you. They didnt have anyone scheduled so how can you get someone one?
The person who helped us was in training and had no idea what he was talking about. We went to buy loose lay flooring and he said they didnt have any. There were rolls and rolls of flooring that could be used as glue down or loose lay. I dont mind people not knowing something but dont say you do if you dont. We did get great help in the toilet department, that is why I didnt rate it lower. Also paint department was great.
I asked 2 employees for help with the appliances 50ft away from meThey looked at me and walked off. This happened twice. I finally yelled hello, anyone here to help me real loud a few times and I received help. Too late, I opted to make the purchase at Best Buy, saving money and received prompt service over there.
My wife and I purchased a Samsung dish washer from the Champaign, IL location on 11/28/2017 where it was supposedly ordered. I got a call from the installers on 12/1/2017 and set an install appointment on 12/12/2017 between 9 and 11AM. On 12/12/2017 at 10:53 AM I got a phone call from the service desk stating that the installers had been there to pick up the dishwasher twice and that no one could find it. I asked to speak with a manager and was told that they were currently on the other line with another customer and that he would call me back in 20 minutes. 45 minutes went by and I decided to go get the receipt from my wife and just make a trip to the store. After waiting an hour and a half I finally get a phone call from a manager and advise that I was in town and just going to stop by the store. When I got there I talked to Melanie. She helped the situation and did a partial reimbursement and re ordered the dishwasher and rushed it. We were told then that as soon as the dishwasher got there that we would be hearing from the installers to set up a time and date to install. On 12/20/2017 I called to check on the status of the ordered dishwasher due to us not hearing anything, I was told that the dishwasher was received 12/18/2017 and that I should hear from the installer in the next day or 2. On 12/23/2017 my wife and I were in the area and still hadnt heard anything from the installer so we talked to the manager on duty (Travis) and filled him in on the situation. He looked into it and said that the issue was that the new dishwasher was ordered under a different phone number (my wifes) and the installer hadnt been notified that the dishwasher was there. The manager then told us that he would call the installer and we should hear something Tuesday or Wednesday. I didnt hear anything Wednesday 12/27/2017 so I emailed corporate that evening. Thursday morning I got an email back stating that the head store manager would be getting in touch with me about the issue. By 10:30 the installers had then called and scheduled the install and I had a voice mail from the store manager stating that there had been a miscommunication and he is taking care of everything right then and there. Dish washer was finally installed 1/2/2018 with no issues and a great product. If you are wanting an appliance in a timely manner it wont happen, just feel like the ball was dropped way to many times. Hope our next appliance purchase wont be as painful.
I bought a riding mower here that has never worked properly it has 12 hours on it and less than 9 months old and it won’t start and they refuse to help. They told me to bring it in and they would send it off to be fixed. When I show up they all act stupid like they don’t even know they sell mowers there. Sorry customer service. Beware of making a large purchase they don’t honor the offered warranty. I just cut up my Lowe’s credit card and will never be back.
I know this is a rarity...a 5 star review because I had a problem with Lowes! But, the way they handled it and worked to make it right warrants the 5 star review. I live in Danville but work in Champaign. There was a tool set unavailable in Danville that the website showed was also not available in Champaign but Lowes internal inventory system showed was in the store in Champaign. Danville staff (who were also wonderfully helpful) recommended calling to verify availability. Called and got a girl in customer service (even though I pushed the option for tools) that looked it up and said no its not actually available thats the display (never actually put me on hold to check or anything, just said that was the answer). I asked can you sell the display she said no. After thinking about it, the Danville staff and my husband and I all wondered, how can there be a display of a tool set that just comes in a box? Seemed unlikely, so called again and asked for a manager. Manager, Cordell, listened to my explanation of what had happened and took my number saying he would call back in 10 minutes after he verified if tool set was actually there or not. 10 minutes later he did indeed call back. They did not have the tool set but rather than make me have to drive to Iowa (the closest store that actually had it) or purchase from a different company, he offered to make a price adjustment on a comparable set that was not on sale like the other one and allow me to still purchase from Lowes locally. This is why Lowes will always have my business over Menards. Thanks for taking a problem and making it right for the customer.
This Lowes store has been so incredibly helpful!! We bought a water heater and had issues with it. The manufacturer didnt back their product the way that we had expected, but Lowes DID!! They stand behind their products and have a team that helps and works with customers. I also LOVE that they offer the 10% discount to military/veterans! I will continue to use Lowes for the majority of our home purchases.
Big box stores have only one interest, getting as much out the door as possible.. Customers are a dime a dozen. They make promises they usually cant keep....all in the name of moving product. If you dont buy from them again......someone else will. This store is equipped with poor management, not enough experienced help and extremely poor communications with employees down stream. My Lowes experience is a thumbs down.......I most likely will not return again. Home Depot does a better job and thats not saying much.......Big Box stores are just that..... we have it, good luck finding it! Oh, and dont believe everything we tell you................................
Purchased all new appliances 4 years ago. My refrigerator has been spoiling food since October 2018. They refuse to send any company other than chambers services. Whom takes on average 3 weeks to fix the refrigerator. Asked for an extension of my service plan. Refused. Asked for one of the other 11 frigidaire approved repair professionals in the area. Refused. Beyond terrible experience. Do not purchase appliances from Lowes if you know whats best for yourself.
Gyms are falling away from there original slogan the lowest priced guaranteed.Cant really do price matching because well they have a no-compete policy where they dont sell that exact same selection as everyone else on certain items.Nearly impossible to find an employee in a department.Always a platoon of people at the service desk but only one is assisting customers.Large selection enormous location usually clean and organized on a consistent basis.
Their installation service is awful. We had 2 different orders. The first, they said they would have installed in 2 wks, it took them 8 and then they installed the wrong carpet. They promised someone would contact us about the problem, but never did. We cancelled the second order because we tried to confirm the carpet in store before install and the person working had no clue what he was doing. After 45 min he admitted he honestly didnt know how to do it so we went to the customer service desk where the one lady ignored us and the other rudely told us to come back when Joe was working, no one else in store. I would not recommend them for any products that require installation.
Absolutely disappointed with this store. I placed an order online for a washer and dryer set 2/28/18. The set was a GE model that was MSRP $899 and was on sale for $599. I received a couple email notifications that the order was confirmed and expected delivery was 3/14/18. I call the corporate number on 3/12 to see if I can have the order changed from in store pickup to delivery. They were happy to assist and I had a very pleasant experience. They also advised that the order way delayed and it would be delivered 3/16. No big deal.Well 3/16 passes and I end up receiving an email on Friday 3/17 that the order will be delivered 3/24. I call the corporate number and they find that the order has been delayed again. They do suggest that the store could deliver a loaner or perhaps find a similar model to substitute for my delayed ordered. That sounded reasonable enough.I go into the store on 3/17 and discuss the issue with customer service. The customer service employees were not particularly helpful so I asked for a manager. They called the manager out and I waited about 15 minutes. The manager did not show so I go up to the counter and ask again for help or if the manager is going to come up. They direct me to a new customer service employee and she begins looking up the details of the order. She finds that it’s delayed and I ask if I can get a similar model for the same price. She said it would be up to the manager on the pricing. I go back to the appliances department and work with a couple sales employees. They do not have anything for the price I paid with comparable features. I ask that they match the price I paid since I’ve been inconvenienced with multiple delays. They call the manager Travis and he offers a mere 10% off. I wasn’t thrilled with his offer so I look around. One of they employees ends up offering a set for what he said was ‘cost’ which was about 20% off. That was a lot more reasonable but ended up deciding to hold off for my original set and left the store.I call customer service on Monday 3/19 to see if they can find out exactly where my set was and when it was expected to be delivered. The rep ends up finding out that the order is not going to fulfilled because the model was discontinued. Now this is three weeks after my order date and I’m now just finding out that the order was never going to be fulfilled. At this point, the only way I would be satisfied is if they find a comparable washer and dryer set for $599 ea. I go to the store after work and ask to speak to a manager. Travis ends up coming up today. I explain to him my situation and he offers 10% off a set.. Now this is especially annoying because I was already offered a better price two days prior. I told him I was not happy with that offer and I want a MSPR $899 washer and $899 dryer for the sale price of $599 each like I ordered. He says he cannot do that price and the best he could do is 20% off. Now why didn’t he lead with the 20% off in the first place? This has been such a terrible experience, why would I ever want to shop here again? I decline the 20% off and tell him I’m going to file a complaint and hopefully someone can assist with correcting this terrible experience.I call the corporate number and speak with a supervisor. The supervisor told me they can put an order for the wash dryer set at $599 but it is up to the store if they honor it or cancel it. The supervisor says they would put in a complaint with the store and the manager would contact me within 24 hours. Guess what.. No one calls.I call 3/20 and am told that it takes up to 72 hours for a response. Ok.. So here I am with no washer dryer set and an absolutely terrible experience hoping the manager calls within the next couple days. I do not think what I am asking is unreasonable, nor am I told why they cannot fulfil my order with something comparable at the same sale price. I do not recommend shopping at this store.
I would like to start by saying I work in retail/business sales. I called to buy flooring from the Champaign IL location. The person who was supposed to come measure my rooms called me at 10:00pm twice and rescheduled twice. He also was late to the appointment by 20 minutes. I get that it’s only 20 minutes but it’s the principle of if you say you will be here by a certain time you should be there. Also the associate at the store failed to call me back 4 times where I had to call back and kept getting the run around. I then asked for a manager and believe I got Corey who seemed unsure of what he was doing. He said he would call me back the next day at 10:00am because the guy who has access to the order worked tomorrow. I waited until 1:30pm and decided to call back and I asked for a manager. This manager said the flooring guy was actually not in today. I then decided to go in and see what the issue was since I was in town visiting family. The manager I worked with instore promised me I would get delivery waived since I had to pay $80 due to living an hour away. When his boss came to approve it he asked him why the credit was offered. To end this, basically the managers and workers don’t care if the customer has a good experience and are not willing to do what is right. I will unfortunately not be shopping at Lowe’s any longer. I used to go there for everything.
BEWARE of their new return policy. They will not return anything after 90 days, whether you have the receipt or not, not even for store credit. Ive spent close to $10000 over the past 3 years at this and the Forsyth location, and was preparing to place an order of at least $1500 for some flooring. I went to return a $17.88 foundation vent for which I didnt have my receipt, and they refused since it was over 90 days and the record was purged from the system. They lost a long-standing customer over this nonsense. Home Depot, Menards or any other retailer will be happy to have my dollars. Ridiculous.
Avoid them at all costs this 4th of July, go to a different branch if you cant pass up the appliance deal. I spent over 20 minutes in the appliance section picking out what would work in my home. One sales associate was there helping another customer. When another gentleman asked for help the associated sounded short and cut him off and said Ill be with you in a moment. I decided to go look for a new window AC unit and come back to the appliances.I couldnt find the aisle with the ac units, but I found an associate in the lighting section and asked him where they might be, he paused to look it up, pointed me in the right direction then disappeared before I could ask for help lifting the 75lb unit to my cart. The unit is cleary listed as a two person lift assist. I got it onto a flat cart. I pushed that back to the appliance dept, not a soul in sight. I stood at the appliance desk for over 20 minutes with no associates in sight and people flocking to the appliance dept. I gave up, thinking I could revisit when I had more time and went to the front to pay for my AC unit.I paid and the associate gave me the receipt and told me to have a nice day. I said, this is a two person lift (again, as clearly labeled) could someone help get it in my car please? She called a code 50 on the walkie. I waited around 10 minutes then asked her if I should get my car, and asked if they were short staffed or what? She said, Yeah were always short staffed, I dont know why. Get you car and HOPEFULLY someone will be able to help you. I parked my car near the exit and put my hazards on as I was partially blocking the lane...another 10 minutes. I went back inside. Still no one available to help, another code 50 was paged for another customer at the customer service desk. An associate walked by the one that rang me and up and she said, hey did you hear the code 50, can you help her? His response was, I didnt come because I dont know what a code 50 is and Im going on break soon. She explained it to him and he did end up helping me, with myself being the second lift assist.I spent $500 in that store, and had I known what my whole experience was going to be I would not have given them a dime and left my AC unit on the ground at the front desk for them to figure out their own code 50. What a joke.
When a store manager speaks to a customer in an inappropriate tone, you realize why the store is struggling so much. I have pulled all business from them. I will never recommend them. Sam the general manager is very unprofessional. I would like to comment how awesome the delivery drivers are. Sad to see a nice store go downhill.
Illegal use of return policyI purchased some xmas garland as a gift and as it turned out, it was not needed by the recipient. When I tried to return it at the Lowes (it was intact in the original packaging) the person at the returns counter said I was not able to return xmas items....and there was a handmade paper sign on the front door that said will not price match xmas items. I was not trying to Price Match the items and had the original receipt and only wanted a return refund. If Lowess will not honor their Return Policy on their products, even if they are seasonal, then it is required that they identify this as their Standard Policy PRIOR to the items being purchased and not after the fact. Shame on you LOWES for illegal sales practices! You should be ashamed of yourselves.
The only place is shop for home improvement items and you also have to be on the lookout around the summer holidays. They have the best deal on Kingsford charcoal right before memorial day weekend and the 4th of July weekend.Furthermore they offer veterans a 10% discount by showing your veterans ID and registering with them. its good Nationwide at all Lowes and its a lot better than what Menards offers they dont offer anything.
Two times in a row that Ive been rudely cut in line at the checkout by another customer. While that itself is not the directly the fault of the store, the reason behind it is. I think Lowes is trying to best Walmart with the length of their checkout lines. Never more than two lanes open even on a weekend. Lines are backed into the main isle, where it becomes impassable. So with the lines always being a mess, its easy for someone to sneak in front of you. Today, there were two lanes open, with one long line. Only one lane had their light on. Everyone slowly walked up there, confused. Except the old white man behind me and the guy on front of me. It was obvious we were both checking out, but he went around us both, evidently knowing the lane was open even though the light was off. Managers need to be more aware of the lines that back up quickly and open more lanes if necessary. Tired of waiting, and getting cut rudely because of it.
At first when I walked in I was a little disgruntled by the fact that there was no one in the department that I needed to have help. A gentleman saw me standing there at the help desk waiting for someone to came over to help me. Another gentleman showed up and saw what I was trying to fix. He looked it up online to see if they could order the product for me when he realized that they couldnt he looked up who could and told me that I should go to another store and purchase the item because Unfortunately they didnt sell what i needed. I was very impressed by the help that I got!
Ordered a refrigerator with delivery last week. Got a call on Sunday night confirming my delivery window as 9am to 12pm today. I recieved a call from Andrew at Lowes around 1126 (nearly the end of my delivery window) to reschedule my delvery for the next day. Apparently my merchandise was loaded onto a 2nd delivery truck but they only had one driver for the day. I took the morning off from work for this delivery and am not free for the delivery again until Thursday evening. Andrew tells me they will try and get it to me today but needs to speak with his manager and will call me back. I call back at 1230 and 230 and am told that he is still waiting to talk to his manager who has been in a meeting. I then call the front desk and ask if there is any manager that i can speak with. Kimberly tells me that there is no manager available. I then cancel my order but Kimberly says there is no confirmation number or updated receipt available.Never order anything from this place. They apparently do not realize people cannot stay home for an unlimited delivery window. Guess ill go to menards or home depot for everything now.
Horrible experience with an online order, shouldve went through Home Depot! I placed an orser online for a kitchen suite, had a horrible experience planning the delivery, then being charged delivery after online said theres be no delivery fee. They finally got here, the microwave was missing then they said its being mailed to me. Week later I still had no microwave so I called then they told me my order was never processed and that I’d have to replace my order. Never did they say sorry then the lady told me it was my fault and theres nothing she could do.
We went in looking for a smoker and had multiple staff members walk by and greet/check on us. We asked for assistance with a cart to get it to the check-out and the young man not only rolled our item to the check-out, but also to our car and helped load it in. Very friendly and helpful experience!
Awful experience with appliances. We ordered a washer and dryer a month before moving to Champaign. When we moved here, they didnt have our appliances. They did not call to let us know that. And could not tell us when the products would be available. An awful experience. We cancelled our order and the staff didnt seem to care to lose our business. We went to a local store afterwards- what a difference!
I wouldnt even give it a 1 star if that was an option. I ordered a vanity online this past weekend. I received an email saying it was ready for pick up Monday so I went into the store to get it. I waited at the pick up counter for roughly 45 minutes and then found out it would be an even longer because they had a truck delivery so I left and came back today. I waited over an hour again today because yet again the product wasnt pulled and they couldnt find someone to get it. Then when they finally did get it I waited another 20 minutes for 4 different ppl to try to figure out how to give me an additional percentage off for the time I wasted there. I will never go here again. The biggest waste of my time.
Ordered a Gas Free Standing Range from this Lowes location on October 7th, 2018. When I ordered, I was told that the next delivery would be on Monday, October 15th, 2018 between 10am-2pm. I got a call the night before confirming this delivery window. No big deal...yet! I take the day off of work, am home from 10am-2pm. NO ONE CALLED ME!!!!!! I had to call in and was given the run around for almost 1 and a half hours before I got an answer from Andrew in the delivery department.Heres the kicker! When I talked with Andrew, he told me they didnt even get my gas range in and that it wouldnt even be in until Wednesday, October 17th and that it would be delivered on Thursday, October 18th. Fast forward to today, Thursday, October 18th. I received NO phone call the night before letting me know that it was in and going to be delivered today. So, I call this morning and am told that my gas range was in. GREAT NEWS! Or so I thought, now, I am told that it wont be delivered until next Tuesday!DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING TO BE DELIVERED FROM THIS LOWES LOCATION!!!!! I am pleading with you, dont do it! Free delivery is great but the store is not trustworthy! They are not even worthy of my 1 star review!
Ordered a fridge online. Said it was ready for pickup...took 45 minutes for someone to being the fridge up after I got to the store. Whats the point of ordering online and it says its ready to pickup if it isnt. Service was terrible. Wont do this again. Too many better alternatives.
Looking for a patio table. Did not see one in a box (to be fair I do not do well looking for items on shelves) I asked a check out person for help who paged for help. 5-10 minutes later I walked from the garden center I to the main building and found a person who was more than willing to assist me.
HORRIBLE customer service. Waited 30+ minutes watching other customers get helped bc a lady said she’d help me then walked away, they refused to help me bc the first employee said she’d help. Why wouldn’t you help a customer when the first employee walked Away, even when they didn’t take any of my order information or even start helping me. Rude.
Lowes is usually my go-to home improvement store. They have everything from lumber to kitchens & baths. If you buy big ticket items there, they also have financing. Some of their bigger items are located outside (mowers, snow blowers, sheds, garden stuffs).You can also trade out propane tanks or purchase new ones there.
I spent a week trying to inquire about restock/availability of a particular item and establish a price match on that and one more item and was bounced via email between three reps who all failed to move the conversation forward until I was connected with an assistant manager who scribbled a two-line dismissive apology that had nonsense formatting, contained multiple grammatical errors, and failed to actually provide any information I had asked for aside from acknowledging that it was not available to order. I am shocked at how low a bar could be set for customer service.
Order a fridge 12/5 online & it said it would be delivered 12/21. Received an email confirming delivery on 12/21 with the time frame so I went ahead & got rid of my old fridge to make room. Here it is 12/28 - Lowe’s still hasn’t delivered it. My wife called 3 times which a manager said he would call back and has yet to. It took an in person visit to get answers. Found out The fridge won’t be in to store until between 1/1 - 1/6 putting our delivery back until 1/2 at earliest but told most likely will be 1/7. So 12-17 days without a fridge. Last purchase my family makes at Lowe’s.
Bought valspar stain that after shaking at the store and taking it home and stirred it before use ha thick sludge in the bottom. Took it back and bought some more. I had the young man shake it then open it to verify no sludge in the bottom. I had to go back on 2 more occasions and asked the 2women to do the same thing and they said no. I explained the situations both times and they told me to stir them at home. Lazy and poor customer service. Next time I need anything from the paint department it won’t be from your store
The best do it yourself store in Champaign-Urbana. My favorite because the layout makes sense and the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. The absolute best part about Lowes is their return policy. You show up 5 months after a project with unused parts, and return them without a receipt for a Lowes gift card. Since I own a home, I never run out of projects. So I happily accept a Lowes gift card. If you want your money back, just bring the receipt or, if you are a My Lowes member, have them search your receipt history and pull up the receipt for you. I always buy more than I need at Lowes, because I know I can bring my extra stuff back. Saves trips to the store, which means less project time!
The folks here are very friendly, welcoming, and most of all knowledgeable. It may take a few minutes before they can talk to you (because theyre helping someone else) but once they are helping you they know their stuff and give you their undivided attention to get you the right parts so you dont have to come back. Love this store!
I made the biggest mistake purchasing products in this store, first when i went there to check on the items i wanted to buy there is no staff at the area where i found my item nobody wants to assist instead some of them just passed by me and dont even bother to ask if i need help, some of them just told me to check out from one lane to another since i purchase diffrent products from some other isle , told them if they could deliver it altogether when im at the customer service they process the transaction all over again , gave me a date for delivery i waited for that day and nothing arrive, i called up their office on same day took all info but told me it was not on their system , and end up telling me to just call in the morning the next day, so i did, a manager talked to me and told me to just go to the store and show my receipt and so i did but girl in the customer service gave me non sense reason that the delivery dept doesnt have the copy of my receipt , and told me to just call again the next day in the morning, cant believe these people are the worse sales stuff ive encountered they just pass me from one stuff to another and gave me non sense service
Lowes saved the day. After Home Depot messed up my $3500 lumber order 3 times, I got my money returned and went to Lowes. The manager Scott filled my order and had it on site in 24 hours. (Home Depot had been given 3 weeks to accomplish this. To say the least, Lowes has my business ! Thank you Scott for making this happen !
Terrible delivery service! Special ordered two fence sections to be delivered; they promised they would be in by Wednesday and could be delivered Thursday. When I hadnt heard by Friday, I called and was told they didnt come in and would be in Monday for sure. Monday came and went, no fences. Tues they said it would be in Weds, and Thurs they confirmed and promised delivery Friday 10-2. At 2:30 -- after I missed an appointment with my lawyer because I was waiting -- they confessed that the fences were not on the truck that was out and the earliest they could arrive was 5:30, so now I have to wait all day for material that was promised 10 days ago. To add insult to injury, after the initial purchase I found that Menards had the same fence for $12 cheaper in stock.
Ordered online the day before for in Store pick up. When we showed up the next day we had to wait 25 minutes until someone finally retrieved our order. NO one was at the Pick Up Counter so we went to the Customer Service Counter. This is not how it should be done so, we Wont be doing this again.
As I am waiting in line now behind about 5 other customers, we keep watching Lowes staff members just pass on by the two open check out lanes. There are 12 people stacked in line waiting because there are only two lines open!!! Christmas season would prompt a little better customer service right?

2022-06-20Nice products, unacceptable installation and coordinationOrdered 4 interdependent products requiring installation, so I called to change the delivery dates so they would all arrive at once (Lowe’s had them scheduled for different days, which would require backtracking and 2 separate installations). After receiving an 8 hour delivery window, drivers came from 2 stores. Rather than installing their items properly, installers from store 2 left their item with installers from store 1, who then refused to complete the installation (because they didn’t want to assume liability for the product coming from store 2). I went a week without laundry or running water on one floor of the house. Then I had to take a second day off work for to accommodate the 12 hour delivery window for the installers from store 2 to return and finish the washer/dryer install they should have completed a week ago. They failed to level or connect the machines, and put them in the wrong places (but did attach the machines to the pedestals, making them essentially impossible to move). I spent hours on hold with Lowes getting the run-around between the 2 stores and the corporate office. “Dissatisfied” doesn’t even come close to describing my experience, but 2 stars because the non-operational washer and dryer set at least LOOK great (thanks, LG!).If you’re buying appliances, order from someone else. There are 2 other big box stores in the community who have gotten other jobs right the first time. Definitely not worth the 50 bucks I saved with their “sale.” Not sure whether I’m going to waste more time making a third (or fourth, fifth, etc) appointment with Lowes or hire a plumber to fix what I already paid for. Feels like nearly 3 grand out the window.

2022-06-22Extremely bad experience. Bought a washer dryer here after checking the availability. We were given a date for delivery and installation. On the delivery date someone called up and said only washer is available. After that a frenzy of 2 weeks of keeping on calling the customer service, still waiting on my dryer. Super bad customer service.No one here knows when a product will be delivered including the supervisors. Seems like a super messed up supply chain with no coordination at all.You will end up wasting way more time here than buying from some other more reliable store.

2022-04-24As new homeowners, my fiance and I wanted to do some of our own home improvements and signed up for a Lowes credit card. This turned out to be a terrible mistake.Getting the card itself activated is time consuming and stressful, and you cant even use it in the store all the time because their system doesnt always work. Its also challenging and again, time consuming, to pay off the credit card at the end of the month. It honestly seems like they dont want you to make your monthly payments.Weve had multiple issues with Lowes shipping us damaged products or not honoring store credits, but the latest saga was when we tried to purchase an oven. While at the store, their credit card system wasnt working, and they told us that we had to use a different credit card and lose the 5% rewards. If we backed out of buying the oven, we wouldve lost a $60 gift card that we already applied to the purchase. They would not give us the $60 back on another gift card. Finally we get the oven ordered, and were told it would be delivered that Friday. Its been three weeks, and we still have not recieved this oven, even after being told that it was out for delivery. As it turns out, the store still doesnt even have the oven in stock. Ive spent several hours this weekend on the phone just trying to track down this oven.Lowes has the worst customer service that I have ever experienced. We are canceling our order and credit card and will no longer be shopping at these stores.

2022-06-16Do NOT expect to get curbside delivery! There is a management problem with this service. I appreciate the Veteran discount and will definitely continue to shop at Champaign store. After waiting for a reasonable amount of time, I gave up on getting help to load heavy bags of soil and pea gravel into my trunk. Im 75 female and could have used the help. One bag of pea gravel broke in my trunk. That was ugly.

2021-06-03When we got this table home to put together, right out of the box the tile was cracked and sharp and the edge bent. This making a replacement tile impossible to get. The whole table has to be replaced. So after calling 6+ times, and 2 store visits always getting the run around to try and get this table we purchased replaced, we have had enough. The table is still damaged. So if my daughter cuts her hand or hurts herself on the cracked tile, Ill be sending the medical bill to you Lowes.

2022-04-15I’ve never had a worse customer service experience with Lowes. Constant run around, waiting for someone to answer the phone for 30 minutes to an hour every single time, and when someone finally answered the phone I would get a completely different answer from every person on my order. The bathrooms were beyond disgusting in this store like they hadn’t been cleaned for days. Home Depot is next door to this store I’ll go there for now on, I’ll never shop the Champaign Illinois Lowes again what a debacle.Edit Your Feedback

2022-04-15We purchased a refrigerator on Monday April 11. Delivery date was set for Thursday. The installers arrived early and when i told them that the water shutoff was in the crawl space (they didnt ask if there was a shutoff in the water heater closet), they brought the new unit in and left it in the garage.I had someone come and put a shut off on the refrigerator itself. My wife called Lowes and I called to schedule a new hook up time. I was on hold for over 30 minutes by customer service. Then i got appliance installlers and was immediately told that my wife had talked to Ron and that they would go get him. He NEVER came back to the phone. Someone finally picked up and ask if i was waiting on someone. I told them Ron. They would go find him. Again, he NEVER came back to the phone. I was on hold for over 2 hours.What a way to treat a customer. I will never buy an appliance again at Lowes, and I will mention to friends that the Appliance management cares very little for their customers.We deserve some compensation.!!!

2022-06-24I ordered more than $1,000 of top soil and mulch to be delivered last Monday. They never showed up. After 40 min waiting for someone to talk to me that evening, Lowe’s rescheduled for today. Message said delivery between 8am and noon today. At 2pm I called Champaign Lowe’s. 58 min call, all but 2 min on hold. They said delivery truck would be here today. 90 min later I get a call from the delivery company “we won’t be there today”. I call Champaign Lowes again - Steven talked to me because the manager “was too busy”. He said they can’t help it if the delivery company can’t deliver. 2 days waiting at home. Nobody at that stores cares. I’d advise anyone needing delivery to go some places other than Lowe’s.
