It doesn’t get any better than Lombard!! There have been times when I had rushed my dog in and it ended up being nothing but they were sure to assure me that they don’t mind! They have squeezed me in several times and are very proactive at making sure my dogs refills are always up to date. Dr. Walsh is one of my absolute favorites! Great communication and friendly atmosphere!! My dog, Princess, and I are very grateful!
This has been my go-to vet for the last 15 years, but I want to give a shout-out to the doctors and staff. Yesterday my dog was covered in blood and I thought she had been attacked. I scooped her up and drove to LVH. A technician met me at the door and before I could finish saying I think my dog was attacked she said give her to me and took her to the back. She came back out and put me in a room, then came back in a few minutes to check on me. I was a mess and it was a nice touch. To make a long story short, after about 5 minutes the vet comes in with my dog acting as happy as she can be. My dog had a small scratch on her tongue that bled A LOT which explained why she was covered in blood. They cleaned her up and returned a happy playful dog.Thank you to the doctors and staff.
Lombard veterinary hospital has taken care of my furry friends for over 30yrs. The staff and veterinarians are excellent in their care and compassion. Adding an exotic vet was an outstanding plus for me since I also keep exotics. Dr Feust and Dr Britton are a major reason I keep my animal care limited to Lombard veterinary hospital and always recommend them! A++++++ keep up the great work!
We brought our furbaby here to be euthanized. Staff went out of their way to make us feel like we were part of their family even though it was our 1st time there. Our vet was ill and referred us to Lombard. We are forever grateful to the staff and the way we were comforted at our time of grief.
I first visited there 2 mos ago to have my cat looked at she was very sick unfortunately I had to have her euthanized...they were very sympathetic and even sent us a card. Very clean and professional. I adopted a pet 3 days ago and it became ill I took the kitten in and they treated him with kid gloves. They were super professional and very kind. We have local Animal Hospitals closer to us however I will always take my animals here.
It doesnt look or feel like a five star place, but the doctors are as good as they come. Dr. Ernat got down on the floor with my dog to make her comfortable, he was thorough and kind, and he came into the office on his day off to check test results for my dog and call me. Above and beyond.
Called to make 2 appointments, gave the lady 2 phone numbers, 2 sets of full names of owners, 2 full names of dogs, and she STILL couldnt find my dogs profile. Told me if there was someone who could call the next morning to make the appointments. Like why? IM the one calling, IM the one making the appointments. Why did she need SOMEONE ELSE? It sounded like she was having trouble finding the dogs profiles and was just passing on the problem to the next person to handle...at the end, I wasnt able to make my appointments..
I don’t write reviews very often, but i took my cat stormi in this morning at around 8ish am for an emergency. she had a fishing hook/lure stuck in her paw & it was a very traumatizing experience for everyone in my house, including my poor cat who just wanted this thing out of her hand. the receptionist i spoke to initially was very respectful, helped me through what to do & i was able to come in and drop her off even before the urgent care team got there. when i dropped her off everyone in the building was very helpful & kind, i’m so lucky this place was able to get me in and i’m so happy with how it was treated. they’ve been patient & kind with my concerns & worries about the situation and reassured me to the best of their ability.
My wife and daughters are blessed we called Lombard Veterinarian Hospital (LVH) on January 19th, 2020 to see our 11 year old dog, Bella. Bella is a 27lb yorkie-poo and was bitten by a possible raccoon/fox/coyote on her left rear ankle in our backyard. In a matter of 12 hours, Bella’s ankle quickly became infected with an increasing fever. Fortunately, LVH had an opening to see Bella that morning and Dr. Martin and LVH amazing team recognized Bella’s poor infection and gave her IV antibiotics and pain medication.Bella was admitted for 5 days at LVH and was treated under Dr. Britton and her awesome and compassionate team. LVH technicians made sure Bella’s wound site was properly cleaned and dressed on a timely manner. Happily, after a month of continuous wound cleaning and dressings, Bella is back to her old self, and my daughters are so happy she’s home.My family is blessed of the hard work, dedication, and love they’ve put to see and treat Bella. LVH certainly saved Bella’s life, and we’re more than grateful for everything they’ve done for her.Thank you very much Lombard Veterinarian Hospital for all the care and love you gave to our Bella. We’re so happy you’re in our neighborhood.
I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my four legged family member. After a really bad storm in 2020 they had to close down and move locations. I was devastated because I was so worried I would have to find a new Vet for my furbaby. Thank goodness they ended up even closer to where I live. Also- they didn’t lose their touch! It’s obvious everyone has a passion for animals and they treat their furry and feathery patients with such love and care, I can’t imagine going anywhere else!
Due to covid-19, I have yet to be inside of this building, but the staff is awesome! Im here often either dropping off or picking up kittens being spayed and neutered. Since a tornado recently took off their roof, the parking lot for customers has been swapped with employee parking, just look for signs so you dont go the wrong way.
I dont ever write reviews, ever. But I am taking the time to mention how amazing this place was(is). Ive been to vets in Naperville, Oak Brook, etc.. and never experienced such a warm, caring vet till date. My dog was limping and had a broken dew claw and instead of going back to the places we knew, I decided to call and try out somewhere closer. They managed to squeezed my dog in last minute, the staff was incredible, and the vet was so knowledgeable. What I also loved was they didnt hassle me for documentation right when we walked in knowing there was more that mattered at the moment. Overall, this place cares. The employees are in great spirits and it just shows they work in a great atmosphere. I literally give props to the management. You guys are doing a phenomenal job and I appreciated every moment. Cheers to my first review. :)
I recently switched to LVH and I’m very happy! The front desk staff is the best! They are always so friendly and truly want the best for my dogs! I have had various vets deal with my girls, and each one has given outstanding care!I also board my dogs, and even though I hate leaving them, I know they are given love and attention! Highly recommend!!!
I recently moved to the area and my cat began vomiting and stopped eating. I called Lombard Veterinary Hospital and they got me in same day. They gave my cat an exam and gave me all of the possible treatments and pricing for them without guilting me into doing the most expensive treatment. They’re honest, patient, and trustworthy. I can’t wait to get all of my animals in to see them.
Their Curbside waiting room is ok but, when the doctor actually has to see your animal I would of liked to go in but maybe it was because my dog had an emergent problem that needed emergency surgery & had no appointment but besides that they were wonderful took care of my dog right away had the surgery a few hours after we arrived and picked her up early the next day and shes recovering VERY VERY WELL, they saved her life I am forever indebted to then. Great place for regular or emergency surgery services!
Dont groom your pet there !!!!!! I brought my cat for grooming and got shocked!!! Groomer girl doesnt know what she is doing , my cat looks awful . She didnt even apologized, she just said because cat didnt sit quiet ( well cats are not people, they dont sit quiet !!!!!)Lots of curves and just cut out pieces of hair , thats how she groomed her . If you dont know how to do your job right , dont do it ! Very disappointing and unprofessional!
We brought our new long coat GSD in for his first puppy exam with Dr. Hulben. The staff was great and Dr. Hulben was through with what is important and answered all our questions. We have been coming here for over thirty years with our past animals and have always trusted this place.
We’ve been taking our pit mix, Lucy, here for about 5 years now. We saw a few different doctors for our first few visits and they were all very nice and very knowledgeable but we fell in love with Dr. Feutz! She is so caring and passionate and takes such great care of Lucy. She always answers my questions and takes the time to reassure us and make sure we are getting the proper information. Lucy has been dealing with some extra issues the last couple of years and she has been so wonderful in working with us to make sure Lucy is properly cared for. A lot of people say that Lombard Vet is more expensive than other places but it’s worth it. Our pets are family members (frankly, my FAVORITE family member lol) and we would do anything to make sure they’re healthy. It’s great to feel like your vet feels the same way. Thank you, Dr. Feutz!!!! We love you!
After spending all day calling around for a last minute appointment for my cat, I am grateful we ended up here! Everyone was so kind, caring, and attentive to us from the moment I called! Dr. Feutz did an awesome job informing us what was going on with our cat and I felt so confident in his treatment after speaking with her. I am happy we were able to find our new vet!!
The staff is great always. Whoever is in charge of records.. needs not be. 3 times I have brought records for both of my dogs! Every time they say the same thing, did your dog ever get their vaccine? Umm yes you gave it to them!Good thing I keep my records! Think its Time to change vets???
Im very grateful for Lombard Veterinary Hospital to help my Baby Blue in an emergency. The staff was kind, caring, patient, and professional during this trauma after a dog attack. I highly recommend them and will return in the future for all of Blues vet needs. Surprisingly, I called several emergency vets but was turned away because they couldnt handle new patients. I thank God in Heaven they helped us when we needed it most. My Blue Angel is miserable now but I look forward to his full recovery 🙏
My new kitty had respiratory issue with blood in thecstool and I didnt know what to do. After speaking to a few offices that showed no interest in the matter except what the additional cost was. That I come across the Lombard Vet location and everyone was so helpful while I was waiting in my car. They worked with me promptly and made it all worth it especially reasonable financially! I highly recommend them!
I can tell the staff here really care about their patients and owners as opposed to other vet offices I have been to where they seem to only be there for the income. The staff have all been very friendly and have done their best to help my ESA, Gwen, feel better and in turn have made the experience less stressful for both of us. Thank you for actually caring, especially during these rough times. I am so glad I switched to this vet office. 😊💙
I cannot say how amazing my experience was with this vet. I have always been nervous with vets because I have had bad experiences in the past, enough to make me super cautious. My ten week old puppy was vomiting and had severe diarrhea for the past two days, and as a first time puppymom with a large breed dog, I was extremely worried and stressed. The staff were extremely comforting, informative, and thorough. Dr. Cornell was a god sent. He always asked us if we had any questions and every question we asked, he answered thoroughly and with absolute patience. They took copies of the notes we had made of her behavior, eating habits, and when she was getting sick, which made us feel validated and included in her diagnoses. When we asked for our pup to get an xray, just in case she may have swallowed something, he obliged, and then even took the time to explain to us how an xray is interpreted (and even had the discretion to ask us if we were in the medical field or radiologists to make sure he didnt come off as patronizing) I am blown away by the professionalism and absolute courtesy. When we had to wait for her parvovirus test to come back, he brought us water bottles and a blanket for my pup to lay on, which she snuggled right up on. He went over every detail of how he would prefer to proceed with her sickness and what the medications were, but also mentioned options, which made us feel included in helping our pup. I was worried about what the bill would be after all the tests and examinations, but the total was extremely affordable. I asked them to repeat the total because I was so shocked at how affordable her care was. Even when I said I was feeling overwhelmed and if I could have it in writing, he even wrote up a report, a very thorough report, and emailed it to us at 10:30pm just like he promised he would. I am blown away at how amazing this vet was. I dont want my pup going to any other vet and I would prefer her to see Dr. Cornell every time. If I could give this vet ten stars, I would in a heartbeat.
This Vet in incredible. I brought my 4 month old kitten here and the team was so sweet and nice to him. They adored him and told me exactly what they were going to include on the visit today. Dr. Britton is the kindest , sweetest person I’ve met. She really cared about my pet and listened to what I had to say. Much better than VCA
In an emergency we brought our sick dog here on Christmas Day 2020. Dr. Diane Feutz took care of him. We thought she did a great job caring for the little guy. We were very happy with the outcome, and our pooch improved quickly after starting his treatment. Weve already decided to make this our regular go-to place for veterinary care.
Thank You for your service to the community and the animals. I started coming to you back in 1990 when I got Taz. He was my orange and white Tabby. In his prime he reached 28lbs and still was the most playful cat I ever had.Me and my wife brought (4) sick kittens that we found in Kentucky and Dr Ludwig helped us nurse them back to health. This place will go the extra mile to help you and your pets.
FCalled to make an appointment for our cat who had a sore on his lip, as it got worse through the day I called and they were able to bump us up to that day! So glad! They also accept care credit which is awesome for an unexpected expense! However the doctor we spoke to was pretty rude and seemed annoyed of all our questions. This was our first visit there and we probably won’t go back for that reason.
Best vet around! We took our dog here after an accident and they were super friendly and informative. Answered all of our questions and helped us plan the best treatment possible. They were very kind with our dog, she seemed happy when she returned to us. Our family’s new go to vet. :)
We have been going to Lombard Veterinary Hosp since we had a our first dog 7 years ago. They are wonderful. All of the doctors there are so compassionate and caring . The receptionists are very helpful and know how ro calm nerves when you are worried about your pet. And we found out that they have a vet for exotic pets as well.
The vets and vet techs were really sweet. Our cat wasn’t feeling well and kept sneezing. They took care of him and he was back to normal in no time! Its pricey but not as much as other offices I’ve been too and the vets try to keep costs down by avoiding unnecessary tests.
Honestly I used to love this place and had taken all of my dogs here until last year when I took my cat in for an emergency appointment. All the staff were professional and good but the doctor taking care of her didn’t really know what to do. Her opinion was immediately to refer me to internal medicine at some place way far away from the clinic and my hometown and they didn’t have appointments until the following year. Instead of doing anything the doctor left the room and had done absolutely nothing. I asked her to come back in when I had found out there were no appointments for 4 months at the place she had recommended. Only then she decided she was going to do something. I had changed from my previous vet (who is an absolute saint) only because they had more availability for emergencies and appointments but after only my second visit to this place and dealing with this particular vet I switched back to a much more trusted provider who provides much better care at a much more reasonable rate. I also will never bring a dog back to this practice after my experience with a doctor that seems to want to do nothing but hand my pet off to someone else to do her job. Never again will I bring a pet to a place that all the vet did was telling me after an appointment that I need to take a cat to a far off place that didn’t have appointments for months. If they brought better vets on board again I would maybe come back but what’s the point of a place if in a situation (my cat is vomiting) I just get told to take her to maybe an ER (if I’m willing to spend the cash) or wait months to get an appointment and only after being told an appointment was unavailable offered me some options for treatment. Why not do the treatment first? Why do you think I care about money and not my cat? That’s pretty offensive to withhold treatment and just ask me if I’m willing to spend more money. Terrible
The staff and overall service provided by Lombard Veterinary Hospital is amazing! Ive been coming here for several years. They have excellent hours, are thorough and committed to making sure your pet is diagnosed properly and treated with the highest level of care. Im very grateful for their dedication!
I have transferred all of my animals (dogs and cats) to Lombard Veterinary Hospital. The one thing holding me back from 5 stars is having to speak with Susie the receptionist. She is very opinionated over the phone and left me feeling upset for the second time. I complained to management the first time, but they didnt seem to understand why she is off putting. The first time, I asked for a dog groomer and she said Dont you have your own? Or your own vet? Well thats why Im calling you to establish care and business. The second time was with scheduling to see if I could switch around appointment times and she scoffed/laughed at me. Ha, we are booked. But the rest of the staff is lovely and really take pride in their jobs. The veterinarians and vet techs are top notch.
Love this vet hospital! They treat my pets with lots of love and they are very gentle when handling them. They are very professional, easy to communicate with and fair prices. Dr. Cornell and the rest of the personnel are great with my fur babies. I would highly recommend them!
I do not have enough good things to say about this Veterinary Hospital. Everyone we have ever worked with there (Front desk, Vet Techs, Vets) have always been SO kind and helpful. They are honest and answer all questions. Dr. Cornell, our specific Vet, is amazing. He is so great with our cats, patient, and is willing to answer every and any question. We moved but still make the 30 minute drive out to this hospital for him.
Dr. Ovitt changed my dog’s life completely. My cocker spaniel has been having severe skin allergies for years that I could not get under control which caused all kinds of secondary issues - hot spots, hair loss (as well as constantly chewing off any fur her mouth could reach), skin & ear infections, fungal/bacterial/yeast infections - all also severe. Within six weeks of coming to Lombard Veterinary Hospital and seeing Dr. Ovitt, my dog’s infections were clearing, her skin was going back to normal, and her fur loss was reversing. Dr. Ovitt helped me find a medication and grooming routine that prevented any more flare ups. Absolutely incredible and life changing!
I strongly recommend Lombard Veterinary Hospital for all your pet’s healthcare needs. My dog Buddy (Brussels Griffon) was under their care for 11 years. Buddy was given exceptional care by Dr Don Ernat, Dr Diane Feutz, Dr Shane Walsh, Dr Hannah Kelley and all other Physician Veterinarians. The entire inpatient, outpatient and administrative staff is extremely compassionate, competent and efficient. During Buddy’s recent terminal illness, we were provided the most outstanding care with great respect and sensitivity.
Lombard Vet is the best veterinarian hospital in my 50 years of living that I’ve ever dealt with they took care of my first dog the kind caring Ness of everyone at that facility is unbelievable. I’ve inherited another dog unexpectedly and financially it’s been hard they have been very understanding and attentive and willing to still help me. If you’re looking for a caring loving veterinarian this is the place. Thank you for all your hard work and kindness taking care of my family member.
The doctors and staff at Lombard are soo good with the animals, especially our cat who is afraid of everyone, yet the doctors here make him feel safe every visit. We get clear details from the visits and fees that are very reasonable for the service they provide. This hospital is also involved with helping shelters care for their cats too, giving back to the community. Lombard Veterinary Hospital doctors and staff are superb, and if youre in the area and need to have your pet checked out, the are the ones to go to.
Two of my cats had health problem crop up at the same time. The vets and techs and office personnel have all be so wonderful and flexible to help me get them seen to! And compared to the specialist vet I had to take one of my cats to, their prices seem very reasonable. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a vet.
Lombard Veterinary Hospital used to good, now terrible. My dog Cocoa had a dental cleaning today. My daughter dropped her off at 7:45 am. We never received a phone call to say how she was doing so my daughter called at 2:30 pm for an update and spoke to a lady named Reeza. My daughter was told they did not even start cleaning her teeth yet. My dog went for 15 hours WITHOUT food or water. This is not humane. My husband and daughter rushed over to pick her up. This is unacceptable to do to any animal. I have three small dogs and have been long time clients of Lombard Veterinary hospital. We will NOT be returning and will let everyone we know not to go there. Also, we will be contacting animal rights organizations to file complaints on behalf of our dog! This is terrible!
Thank you all for for such a peaceful experience putting down my cat Midnight. First time I’ve ever had to experience doing this. My bud was 17 years old and his kidneys failed him. All staff were sincerely compassionate and were able to take me with moments notice. Dr. Brilton, thank you again. Midnight has a brother and when it comes time I’ll be back to pass him on to the rainbow bridge. Again, thank you Lombard Veterinary Hospital
I love this veterinary hospital! The staff is so loving and patient with the animals (and their owners)!! They are thorough and take their time to answer all questions. They never make us feel rushed and no question is ever treated as if it is silly or a waste of their time. A few years ago, when my dog went in for a surgery and we found out she had terrible cancer, the surgeon even sent us a sympathy card with a beautiful, touching, personal note inside of it. That was so appreciated!!
We have been bringing our dogs here for years and have been happy with the care they received. They have always managed to get us in even when they are totally booked, when we call in a panic with what we think is an emergency. The doctors make a point of getting back to us answering our questions and concerns. We trust them with our fur kids, whom we love very much.
Myself and my kids found a cat last night and this office was just about to close. They let me bring the cat in and scanned it to try and find its owner. The cat was not chipped but the office even called me on the way home offering to run the phone number to find its home. They are just wonderful here very caring. I was able to find the cats owners last night and now its safely back home. The office staff at Lombard Veterinary Hospital are so great I wouldnt bring my pets anywhere else.
I had gone to other hospitals with my cats before I moved to Lombard. Dr. Ernat took care of them until they passed. He was so caring it really made you know you were in good hands. So soon as I adopted my new 4 yr old cat I went right to see him and she’ll get the same good care at Lombard veterinary hospital.
Love this place the staff is warm welcoming and really cares about you and your pets they are also great about getting you in for an appointment and having options to see your records and appointment history. The only reason I dont give it a 5 is there is one vet there that Ive had 2x now and she makes me feel like a bad pet parent and wants me to do anti anxiety meds for one of my dogs( she gets happy excited not stressed) and wants me to have 3 different dental procedures done on my cats right away( several thousand dollars that I cant do all at once and my cats are healthy and happy) and when i asked about steps I can take in the mean time like teeth brushing and dental treats she dismissed the ideas. The other vets Ive seen there have been wonderful and my pets liked them quite a bit
We had to put our cat to sleep a week ago and this place has a staff who is very empathetic. They not only make sure that your last moments with your pet is special, but they strive to make you and your pet feel comfortable. I even received a condolonces card in the mail today from their receptionist. I am grateful this is the same vet hospital that I adopted my kitty and that its the same place where I shared my last moments with her. HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a vet and their staff who genuinely care about their pet.
My visit was a sad one. They are very compassionate. My cat was terminally ill. Told me what it was...giving me options but very honest it would only extend her life a short time with no hope of recovery and the cost would be very high. They are excellent, Drs and staff.
Very good about getting you in quickly when needed. The staff seems very kind, helpful, and compassionate. Overall, they seem to show concern for your furry family member. This to me is most important (as I have been places where I actually felt they didnt even like animals). I have been frequenting this business for years with all my pets. They seem to respect your decisions, are willing to work with special requests, and work with you to decide what is best for your pet.
These guys are amazing! One of my cats is very difficult and they have always been careful and professional with her. The staff truly loves animals and it shows- thats why Ive driven almost 45 minutes each way to keep coming here after I moved. They treat my pets like they would their own!
We take all 4 of our dogs and our cat here. They get attentive professional care every time. They also have a terrific groomer in their new salon. Last week and our little dachshund, 10lbs, ate a whole dark chocolate bar. They squeezed him in, pumped his stomach and sent him home good as new.
Im not a crazy pet person; I dont have outsized expectations for the level of care; I understand that a vet may see a dozen different animals a day, but after years of bringing our pets to LVH for treatment, I cant stress this strongly enough:If you bring your pet here for acute or serious medical issues, SEEK A SECOND OPINION BEFORE MOVING FORWARD WITH ANY TREATMENT. Over the past few years, the veterinary doctors at Lombard Veterinary Hospital have successfully misdiagnosed both of our cats on multiple occasions and proceeded to either refer us to a specialist for unnecessary immediate treatment or placed our animal on a wholly inappropriate treatment plan that contributed to worsening the underlying issue. Do not be afraid to question every single thing they tell you.I’ll bite my tongue and edit the personal details from my review for the time being because, to their credit, they did reach out to me to set up a future conversation to explore the situations that have occurred.
We scheduled our dog, Luna, to be put to sleep here. They allowed all 8 of us to be in the room with our baby as she passed into Heaven. The Dr. was gentle and kind and explained everything to us before he did it. He gave us plenty of time and space to be with her both before and after the procedure. The staff was professional and seemed to really care. As awful and heart wrenching as the experience was, the environment was calming and I am thankful for the privacy and treatment we received.Update: we now take our new dog here too. They are phenomenal! We go to Dr Cornell and couldn’t be happier with the service and help we’ve received from him.
They were very responsive, compassionate, and kept in constant touch with me through the whole experience.Tanya,Dr. Britton, and the rest of the staff were very professional and made my experience a little less painful and for that I thank them. I had to get my guinea pig put to sleep and they made it less devastating. You guys are 😇😇. God bless you.
We found our dog had an a abscessed tooth on Saturday night. Our normal vet is closed on Sundays, and we were very worried about our dogs comfort and health, so we brought her in here on Sunday morning as soon as they opened. They saw us shortly even without an appointment. They were super nice and understanding. They gave us an estimate and told us the next available date to have her tooth pulled.
Well priced Veterinary facility with helpful staff that are breed friendly. I would highly recommend for anyone who is trying to take care of their furry friend for a reasonable cost. Every visit there has led me to believe that they are just as passionate about your pets care as you are.
I had never border our dog before. I was worried but when we visited Katy was so assuring, knowledgeable and friendly. It was a great feeling knowing hed be cared for and he was. He was happy to see us and apparently fine for those few days. I will go there again when we need a hand.Thank you
We have been coming to Lombard Veterinary Hospital for well over 25 years. That in of itself speaks to my satisfaction with this practice. They have excellent hours, including Sundays. I can always get an appointment within one day of calling. Many times i can get a same day appointment.
Been going for many years and my parents have been going for many years before that. Staff is always friendly and seem to really show compassion. They have always been fair and never seem to try and upcharge or recommend product or services not needed. They give you plenty of information and options to treat your pet.
They werent my primary vet I called to get my dog in on a Sunday and they actually called me when someone else canceled to get me in earlier, Dr Britton was good, she listened and didnt try to push anything on me, ultimately I had to say goodbye to my loyal companion of 13.5 years nothing was easy about the decision to be made, but upon arrival and leaving everyone was sensitive and compassionate to the situation at hand, its the first time I had to let go of any animal and Sadie was my first dog, I especially like to thank Nancy for sending a very thoughtful card a few days after, theyve earned my future business for my other dog and any future dog I get, they made the process a bit comforting but of course Ill dearly miss my loyal companion Sadie forever
I brought my dog lisa to lombard veterinary hospital to have her put down. I was not a regular patient this was my first visit. The dr and staff were very understanding and compassionate at a very difficult time. They gave us plenty of alone time with lisa and were very compassionate and caring for lisa and us. The dr explained the procedure and made a very difficult day a little easier. I would highly recommend lombard veterinary hospital. They even sent a nice sympathy card. I will continue to use this hospital in the future.
My dog had passed away and I brought her here to get cremated. The staff was extremely kind and personable while I grieved. They even let me have one last moment with her alone and gave me as much time as needed. They also sent me a card for my loss. They did an awesome job of making her loss as important as it was.
It has treated all our dogs and cat. They are able to get emergencies in very quickly. They are very compassionate when our dogs time had passed and their pain could not be fixed. No pressure for decisions but will offer their experiences and opinions when you are faced that moment with a decision to make for your animal.
My entire family has been going to Lombard Vet since before I was born. They have always gone above and beyond for our pets. You can tell how much they love what they do and how much they care about each animal that walks in the door. I live approximately half an hour away but the drive is worth it for the care my animals receive. They always make sure we are up to date on everything and are very knowledgeable when it comes to any questions I have. Their pricing is some of the best I have seen as well. I will always take my animals to Lombard Vet.
I have been a client for over 35 years, and through the good times and sad times Lomb vet has been there for me and my family. Thank you for your kind concern and dedication to our dogs. I appreciate all you do for us, thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking cars of our “kids”❤️
The office staff is friendly and attentive. And the Doctors are not rushed and give your pet attention and great treatment. Lombard Veterinary isnt a turnstile triying to rush you in and out doesnt feel like your just a number. The time is taken to explain the care needed for the health of your pet and the information is always delivered with compassion. Ive three dogs that have been going to Lombard Veterinary Hospital since I moved from Chicago 15 years ago Lombard Veterinary outshines them all.
I have been going to Lombard Vet for over 10 years. This staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. Dr. Ludwig has always been a great doctor for my animals whether for yearly check-ups to difficult times with a loss of a beloved pet. She was the one that helped me when I got my first cat and now I have three. I would not take my animals anywhere else.
So... Google is asking me for a review after I had to bring in my pooch for euthanasia.5 Stars feels like it implies Id love to put him down again; which is a horrible thought, and furthest from the truth. That said, this particular experience can be positively rated from a process standpoint and it indeed hits 5⭐ status. They scheduled us promptly, had true empathy for & sympathy with us, cared deeply for him and ensured his comfort, and clearly respected the end of his earthly journey.tl;dr:0 ⭐ = putting down sick doggie5 ⭐ = LVH handling the euthanasia
If you have a pet that you dearly love and want to have cared for in the best possible manner, I highly recommend that you have him/her cared for by the staff at Lombard Veterinary Hospital. Every doctor, vet tech, and office staff member that has had a hand in caring for our beloved Brittany has been outstanding in every way. I cannot envision better care than our Molly receives there, and cannot imagine taking her anywhere else.
I just moved into the area and was looking for a vet for my animals. Dr. McDonald and Sarah, the vet tech were so kind, sweet and helpful. Dr. McDonald did the best, most comprehensive physical I have ever seen on my 2 cats. Price was reasonable and the wait was minimal. I do not know who does the scheduling, but the wait was minimal, no other animals in the waiting area and the check out was quick.
I would not even give this so called hospital one star, but I have to in order to write a review. Something within this place has changed. In the past, Lombard Vet has always been there for me when I had a pet in need, even though they were a secondary vet when I could not get to my primary. One of my cats was diagnosed with diabetes four months ago and I had a hard time with him. I tried three times to get him into Lombard when my primary was closed, but they told me that I had to the an emergency clinic because they were not able to handle a cat like him??? Why do they call themselves a hospital? I could not afford an emergency vet and now my cat is dead. I think Lombard could have helped if they wanted to give the time and the effort, but they did not.
They were so fantastic with my VERY anxious pupper.. The vet actually came in the room and sat on the floor with my dog, this actually blew my 🤯 mind. I worked for a vet for a long time and they never did such a thing! I believe the vet at Lombard was Dr.Cornell Fantastic place.
I just want to say the staff here is wonderful. Our Cooper was attacked by 3 other dogs and we rushed him here right as they were closing the staff all came out carried him in and immediately took such great care of him. They came out every few minutes to check on us and keep us updated on cooper. This staff is absolutely the most caring people I have encountered in a long time.
Dr Cornell is absolutely the BEST! Were so grateful to have him taking care of our pets ... and we humans, too. Over the years, weve shared good news and difficult loss. Dr. Cornell has been by our side through it all.He shows genuine concern for our pets well being, and remembers from one visit to another what weve discussed/decided.What an asset to the hospital staff!
My dog was attacked by another dog on a Sunday. I’m from out of town and didn’t have any of my dogs records or know of any vets in the area. I called this vet and they had me in their office a few hours later. I appreciate the fast appointment and service I received. Luckily, my dog is doing wonderful and I feel better knowing he is going to be ok!
I used to recommend lombard vet to everyone I knew. I thought the staff there was amazing and so helpful, until I brought my dog in Monday night. They heavily suggested that it was because my dog mustve eaten weed when there was no marijuana in the household. All the symptoms my dog was displaying were classic symptoms of a stroke. In the seven years Ive worked with dogs, Ive seen alot of ways dogs can get sick, and Ive seen what happens before, during, and after a stroke or seizure. Lombard vet just saw three young adults and automatically assumed it was because she ate a drug. When they returned her to us, they told us she was walking and acting back to normal however when we walked outside my dog fell face first in the snow again. I took her to a better, well trusted vet where they told me it was more than likely she had a stroke. I will never go back to Lombard vet as a result of their discrimination and because they failed to care for my pet, and charge me an outrageous amount of money for nothing.
We have been going here since our last Yorkie was 3yrs old. Dr. Ernat has always been an amazing vet to work with. The staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. We put our 15yr old Yorkie down almost 3 months ago now. Dr Ernat was there with us through the whole procedure. It was a tough time but I wouldnt have wanted anyone else to care for my dog than this hospital. We now have a 4 month old puppy and although we dont live in the area anymore, Id rather make the 30min drive to come here and see Dr. Ernat. I trust him and wouldnt go anywhere else.
I just moved here a few months ago and have been taking both of my cats here since I arrived. Both cats are older and I feel the staff and doctors here really care about the animals. The main reason I went here is because they are open on Sunday. Id be going there now even if I couldnt get in on Sunday. This is the best Veterinary Hospital Ive ever gone to.
I highly recommend this vet. My dog gets so nervous and isnt the best behaved and they are very nice and understanding about it. They dont try to push things on you, or try to make you spend money for other reasons. My dog is also a Pit-bull and Ive had some judging dr.s before and everyone I have met at this vet is not!!!
Went for the first time today because they were the only place open Sundays, and will be back. Very nice vet, she took the time to really listen and didnt order a bunch of tests just to order them which my tiny budget appreciated. Probably will make this my dogs new vet. Very bright and clean facility.
Been going to Lombard Veterinary Hospital since 1974. Dr. Matt Cornell is my vet. He makes the pets feel very safe and content when he examines them. I could very easily find a closer vet in West Chicago, but everyone at the LVH is so friendly and helpful. Thats why I continue to come to LVH.
Please please do not take your pet to this hospital. Ive been going to them for a couple years and have had nothing but good things to say and even referred my coworkers but now that has changed. My dog had a mass cell tumor on his paw. We had it removed along with his toe. I was told everything was ok after the surgery and he didnt need to be seen for a year. Well another tumor showed up on his neck and it turns out he had grade 3 cancer that spread from his toe to his neck. He shouldve had 6 months of Chemo after the toe was removed but they neglected to tell me. I was told nothing else needed to be done. They then throw out his results from the pathologist with half of his file. We had to call and get them ourselves. They then put him on a medication that his new vet and oncologist both said they havent given to dogs with tumors in years because it was never FDA approved and we should stop it right away because it will only cause harm. Now this error might cost my 5 year old baby his life and emotional issues for our whole family. They will no longer take our calls which is beyond unprofessional. They are not doing things right over there. The hospital vet at Lombard that performs surgery should be let go. They look stoned half the time.TAKE YOUR PETS TO DUPAGE ANIMAL HOSPITAL IN VILLA PARK. THEY ARE AMAZING. THE ONGOLOGIST THEY REFERRED ME TO IS ALSO MATCHING DUPAGES PRICES WHICH IS A HUGE HELP. DUPAGE WILL WORK WITH YOU ANYWAY THEY CAN. I COULDNT ASK FOR A BETTER PLACE TO TAKE MY BOY!!!
OUR VET RETIRED SO THIS WAS OUR FIRST VISIT TO LOMBARD VETERINARY HOSPITAL ON MAY 6, 2020 WAS FOR AN ANNUAL CHECK-UP AND RABIES VACCINATION. THE PROFESSIONALISM OF THE SERVICE YOU PROVIDED WAS INTERESTING NOT KNOWING WHAT WAS HAPPENING.I RECEIVED A CELL CALL WHILE WAITING IN YOUR PARKING LOT FROM DR. MATTHEW CORNELL ABOUT WHAT OUR DOG. WOW, AM I IMPRESSED WITH DR. CORNELL AND HIS THOROUGHNESS. NOW I AM EVEN MORE IMPRESSED WITH THE FOLLOW-UP THIS AM FROM DR. CORNELL.I CANT SAY ENOUGH ABOUT OUR EXPERIENCE WITH YOUR HOSPITAL.THANK YOU

2022-04-04Both Dr. Walsh, and Abby, we’re just fantastic when attending to my 12-year old kitty who injured herself after what I’m guessing was a bad landing after a little jump. Came home from work to discover my little girl limping horribly and in great discomfort. As you can imagine I was beside myself with worry and trying desperately to get her in for care, anywhere, and on a Sunday no less! Long story short, the folks at Lombard got us in the same day. X-rays, exam, pain meds, and back home resting comfortably within a few short hours. Aside from discovering arthritis setting in, and what appears to be a pretty good sprain, my baby is going to be just fine. A thousand thanks to Dr. Walsh and Abby!

2021-12-04Dr Britton is the best! For first time puppy parents, we had a lot of concerns. Dr Britton was willing to answer all our questions and we have a happy, healthy pup! ( Follow her on Instagram: @therealchloe.thedoodle )

2022-04-14I had to come to Lombard veterinary hospital last minute when my pet was not a patient of theirs. I originally chose them because they were one of the only places open with PM hours on a Saturday. My dog needed to be put down and all of their staff was so kind and accommodating to the situation. They got me in within hours of my call and were very sweet to my poor girl. In a completely awful and heartbreaking situation, they were the best. Highly recommend.

2022-06-24Very professional and friendly staff. They are also super helpful over the phone when we call in for advice. Weve also never had to wait too long for an appointment and they are good about filling cancellation spots to fit you in earlier, which is a huge relief when dealing with a sick dog. Our dog actually loves going here for the treats :) Highly recommend

2022-05-17Each and every employee we’ve ever interacted with in the last 4 years has been so kind and shown excellent customer service. The employees are very caring and make sure you and your pet are well taken care of. Although the services may cost more than other vet clinics, the quality of care at LVH is unbeatable!

2022-05-19This is the BEST Vet..I have been to so many Vets over the years with my dogs. I had a dog who lived 15 years and next one 14.. Always feltl like a number or rushed in and out out of every vet we tried. Never found a fit..never found a place that I felt good taking my fur babies to. All that changes when I took my dog here Super nice friendly staff that took the time with our visit. Even my little scared dog felt good. Im so happy to have found a place I can trust.Thank you for doing what you guys do. Definitely will recommend to anyone who is in need of a good vet that truly cares about the animals.

2022-07-04We have taken both our dogs to Lombard Veterinary Hospital since we adopted them. They have received excellent care here! One of our dogs has very bad anxiety and Dr. Ovitt took extra time to explain all the options and side effects of different treatments for the anxiety. We ultimately found a solution that has literally changed his life. Unfortunately we are moving out of the area and on the hunt for a new vet but we wanted to write a review so people looking for a new vet know that this place is great!! The vets and staff care so much and they are very available for emergency appointments and taking phone calls.

2022-06-06Over Memorial Day weekend, one of my dogs injured his leg, and another came down with a digestive illness. Our regular vet couldnt get us in for days, but thanks to Lombards urgent care program, they saw us within a few hours. They were thorough, kind, patient, and both dogs felt comfortable with the doctor and staff. I really like our usual vet, but Im switching because my pets healthcare comes first.....with me and Lombard Vet.

2022-03-06We absolutely love Lombard Veterinary Hospital! We just moved here from out of state and LVH has been nothing but amazing for our kitty. We saw Dr. Ernat for a yearly check up and he is very personable and attentive. Our kitty had a dental procedure done with Dr. Kelly and she was amazing. He now has sparkly clean teeth and is always well taken care of there! We had an emergency situation after his procedure and got in for a follow up the very next day (after visiting the ER overnight). The staff was amazing and accommodating. We are so happy this is our new vet!
