Kroger in other cities:
I have been shopping here for over 20yrs. Past couples yrs the time at customer service desk for services are crazy. They never have 2 people working at station. Also carries long convos with customers instead of being polite and minimizing convo. This must change if not expecting Hyvee to snatch business from them.
Please beware. As I was not. The shopping service I used was not provided by Kroger but by Instacart. I did not receive my groceries, but I did receive a credit card charge. So, be careful what you use. It was not clear to me on the website that I was not using a Kroger product with a Kroger person.
I will not shop here again. I have shopped here for over 10 years. In the last 3 years, this store has gone downhill. I no longer recognize any of the staff and theyve cut back on the staff that is still there so lines are very long. Worse yet, Im constantly being overcharged(!) on items that have clearly marked signs over them. Instead of refunding you the price at the register as they used to do, staff now tells us to go to the money/customer service window. Today, I was overcharged $2 on blueberries. After being waved over to the money/customer service window, I waited behind 6 other people who were doing complicated financial transactions. The lady behind me had been overcharged for grapes which had a huge sign saying, $1.99 per pound with all grape colors listed. Still, she was charged the regular price and was now in line behind me to try and get the price corrected. At night, they started putting security staff with bulletproof vests outside and inside the store. Today, I saw a security officer inside the store and it was 10am in the morning.I will never, ever shop here again. If I feel I have to get something at Kroger, I will go to the store on the North end on Knoxville Avenue OR the Hy-Vee just across the street on Lake Street.Krogers, what happened to you?
Shopping in Krogers or doing pick up service I have been very satisfied with the friendly customer service I have received during this Covid19 pandemic from Lake St Krogers.Thank you for all you have done for all of us.You are a blessing to all of us! God bless all of you!
Not impressed with this store. I worked at two Kroger stores in Georgia. So I do know their policies. If you buy something and it rings up wrong, the item is supposed to be free. I’ve had this happen 3 or 4 times between two stores. This one and the one on Sterling. The store on Sterling, I had a bad experience with as well. The cashier was rude and the lady working the service desk was as well. But the Assistant Store Manager DID know the policy and corrected the two employees.i left feeling a little better about the Manager and how he corrected them.Today, this store, on West Lake Ave, the same. Made me feel like a fool around the other customers. I explained the policy and asked that if she didn’t know it to call her Manager. She was going to ignore that at first by just ringing up the price it was supposed to be. I then again asked her to call the Manager. And he didn’t even know Kroger’s Scan Right Policy! But what he says to her is to go ahead and give it to him. I could tell by the way she answered him on the phone. I had hoped that the policy would have been corrected so that she would know. And my feeling as a fool in front of everyone would honestly be met with some satisfaction. But no, her words were, “It’s just Change.” Well, lol! It was more than just some change. It was about $5. Add that to the last three times and that comes to $30 total. Hey, if I know a store policy and I’m gonna get the item free, then I’m gonna say something. So nothing was corrected, I walked out with the feeling that, I, to them, was just another dumb ass customer!
Donna ruined my experience 2 days in a row with her complaints how there was no baggers but everyone was working hard she always complains two days in row i dint know if she knows.or not but that is bad customer service i dont want to here your complaints donna and its so unprofessional
A big inconvenience with the money center, if you do not get a money order from that location they will not refund it or exchange it from any other Kroger location. A very pointless and inconvenient guideline. Im not that old but Im sure someone that doesnt like being out in the bad weather would hate to have to run back to the original store that the money order came from just to exchange it for another or refunding when actuality theyre the same type of store with the same type of services. Hope they do fix the problem very soon🐩👎👎👎👎👎
The self service register was messing up.They tried to say I didnt put cash into it.Computer/ Machine Error. They wouldnt let me leave.Made me feel like a criminal. MACHINE ERROR.I had witnessed that I put cash in.Never again will I shop Krogers.I will continue my shopping across street at Hyvee. They have registers with people.Better customer Service and help.I would give Krogers a O star. Its gone down till since Wisconsin closed.
I usually shop here. Thinking of switching to hy-vee. Now that the other stores closed its always excessively crowded and they literally never have enough lanes or baggers. Theyre always out of at least one thing on my list. I was cool with it for a couple months but....hire more help.
Poor customer service. I arrived to return a product at 7am, was told the service department wasn’t open until 8am. I retuned at 8am and was told the worker was on break someone else said she was filling machine with change. I’m using this waiting time to write this review, still haven’t been helped and it’s 8:11.

2022-01-19Its your typical grocery store, however I dont believe its managed very well. I actually rather drive farther to the Kroger across the river in East Peoria. They are better staffed, and the food and produce are fresher and are stocked regularly.

2022-03-03The worst Krogers I have ever been in in my life the food at lunch time was very minimal five six pieces of chicken to pick from mashed potatoes or old you could tell they hadnt been stirred and probably 20 minutes the gravy same thing nasty film all over it what they had for macaroni and cheese was so dry it looked like itd been sitting there for days and finally after waiting 10 minutes got someone to come over and gave me two chicken breasts and banana pudding and chicken breasts were so overcooked and dry I threw them away the only good thing was the pudding to registers open slower than molasses in February even slower than bartonville and that is saying something I will never shop or eat or get anything from this place again

2021-12-22THEY SELL MOLDY PRODUCE!!Don’t buy your fruit or vegetables from there. I went here yesterday and almost every fruit & veggie had mold growing on it. I finally found some that didn’t but the very next day, mold has already started to grow on it. Go somewhere else for your fruits & veggies

2019-04-24Not too loud, yet crowded, even during the work week. Semi decent pick of brands. Store was small though. I would recommend it still, probably the best Kroger in Peoria. In Kroger’s fuel rewards program, you earn 1 pt./per $1 you spend. Once you’ve earned 100 fuel points (after $100 spent on groceries), you’ll get 10¢ off per gallon on up to 35 gallonsHy-Vee offers fuel perks on select grocery items that vary weekly.Unlike other stores, there isn’t a set reward per dollar amount spent — either check the weekly ad or browse your local Hy-Vee to see which items offer fuel rewards.

2021-02-27I gave this Kroger a 4/5 because they don’t stop people from going to the u-scan with a full cart of groceries. Yes that makes me a grumpy old man to complain about but no I don’t care. Otherwise, this store is usually stocked and fairly clean. Their employees wear masks over their nose like they should and I appreciate that!

2021-03-13This review is for Katie and the pharmacy staff. They were effective, efficient and friendly in administering Covid-19 vaccine. The day of the large blizzard they did not receive their Covid 19 vaccine shipment and had to cancel us on short notice. However, they called us the next day and told us if we could get there within the hour they would take care of us. Wonderful service, and we are grateful.
