Kroger in other cities:
There is an employee that I would like to compliment . He works in produce and his name is Mark Sullivan. He has been so helpful to me on several occasions. Yesterday I asked him about a fruit tray and mentioned that the size I wanted was sold out. He said he would fix me up a fresh one if I had a minute to wait. He did just that and also brought an extra for the next customer. He always has a smile and is so nice. Always willing to help in any way. Mark is an asset to the Kroger store.
This store has been around for a long time and is beginning to signs of a needed face lift. I dont shop at this Kroger mainly because of the location. The entry and exit lanes to the shopping center are congestive (very poor arrangement when arriving from the North) as well as the parking. Many times there are no shopping carts available, so I do my best to grab one off the lot before entering. There is no real issues with the staff, but then again one hardly notices them until checkout, so some improvement in interacting with customers could be attained. The produce section needs some fresh ideas and a better presentation plan.
I would give this place 0 stars if I could... The store is very dirty and overcrowded. The parking lot is too small. I would fight the parking lot and the crowds if the store was clean and in stock. The produce section was empty in most spots except for the rotting vegetables that nobody wanted to buy. The shelves were dusty, the meat shelves were dirty with old dried meat drippings. I dropped something under the conveyer belt and went to get it, there was something spilled under there that had been there for a long time. The doors leading out were broken...again. The pharmacy is a disaster, the carpet looks like it hasn’t been cleaned since they opened, there are boxes stacked everywhere, it looks very unprofessional. I’ve made the decision to shop elsewhere.
I avoid Kroger now. Very seldom go here anymore. Ever since Kroger at Fairfield closed this one has gone downhill. Shelves are empty, parking is awful, & employees are RUDE. I have gone back time & again but its always the same. Wake up Kroger corp. You are losing a lot of your loyal customers.
I would give a zero star. Kroger corporation does not provide Decatur any clean, well-stocked stores. Every time that I shopped there, the shelves are empty, the store is filthy, & the employees seem to be overwhelmed. I always would shop before 8 am, & I had to check myself out & bag my own groceries. A friend suggested that I try the Decatur Aldi. Wow...Aldi is great! Im saving 50% on my grocery bill each month!! Aldis shelves are always stocked & I dont have to check myself out. Kroger has lost a loyal customer.
Its Kroger. What are you going to do without Kroger in your neighborhood? The good ones are open 24 hours this particular one I dont believe is low I think its only open late but I may be perjuring myself. Anyway, its typical as most Kroger are with a deli a pharmacy frozen food section and all the good stuff that you would expect.
This place is great, theres this older gentlemen at the automated checkout and he is just the sweetest person! Always tries to help and acknowledges people. Thats one person I can say needs to get a raise, like now. You people know you wont get another worker like this especially in ghetto/redneck Decatur. This is a great store to shop in and its very clean. The ladies at the deli department are sweet and considerate. Honestly, this is the best store in Decatur. Great prices and the variety in vegan products, veggies and fruits is freaking amazing.
This store continues to decline in quality and customer experience. The store rearranged the entire layout earlier this year and also stopped carrying numerous products we value. Now today when I entered the entire organic produce section was gone and there was limited produce available. They also changed brands on things like salads and other products. We as a family spends hundreds a month at this store and we will now be searching for an alternative. To be fair, the workers at this store are great. Its the management that is way out of touch with the customer base.
Since Kroger in Fairview closed this store has gone down spiraling! Parking is horrible. The parking lot is like a go cart race. If you can find a parking space, you have to wait to get out of it for the line of cars looking for parking spaces to clear. The store is cramped and dirty. Half the staff is friendly the other half act like your bothering them. I’m tempted to start driving to Champaign for Groceries at Meier
A very good experience this evening! Employees were helpful. The Cashier was very friendly and pleasant. The Store Manager helped me out to my car and loaded my groceries inside my car!!! ALDIS AND WALMART DONT HELP THEIR CUSTOMERS. THERE IS SOMETHING TO BE SAID ABOUT GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! GREAT JOB, BRENTWOOD PLAZA KROGERS!!!
This Kroger is ok. The downside to it is that its always over crowded since they closed Fairview Kroger, the parking lot is a complete disaster AND there simply is not enough checkout lanes. Yeah they have way too many self checkouts but I dont work here and refuse to use them as should most people. The self checkout is a pain to use because most of the time is doesnt recognize when you put your item in the bag and you have to wait an excuseratingly long time between item scans. Id rather wait in one of the two lanes that are typically open and have lines so long that they block almost all of the main front aisle. But who cares when you can increase corporate profits for millionaires at the expense of the lower and middle class workforce.
Not as nice as the Krogers they closed in Fairview Plaza. Employees are not as friendly and the store is really run down. Shelves were empty of a lot of the items they had on sale. Will probably start doing more shopping at Walmart, even though I was brought up on Krogers.
Items I regularly purchase are routinely out of stock. Selection of brand name items are minimal because they stock their brand. Produce is the one department that is always well stocked. Deli selection is hit and miss. Too many customers for the capabilities of the store.
Found they were still out of the milk I get and have been for 2 weeksWhen checking out I was charged 74 dollar over what I had bought. Bring it to the cashiers attention she said oh how did that happen. It was corrected only because I brought it to her attention. My other complaint is I received a check and went to cash it at the store they said I had to use it for purchaseI feel my I earned it by using my card why should I be told how I have to spend it.
Not good today. My husband and I stood waiting for help with the milk while the manager and another employee were chatting with another person not 5 feet from us. When the manager finally noticed me staring at them she asked if we needed help. The other employee said, oh theyre just regulars. As if to imply it was ok to make us wait. To make matters worse they were out of the milk we wanted.
Kroeger stores are wonderful. I only have one problem . I dont understand why they dont sell Prarie Farm milk. This has been my families favorite brand for decades and the public should at least have a choice. There are other products too I cant even fine any more in all the stores...Really disappointing. The staff at Kroegers are great and the produce is the best around. NOW if theyd just sell my favorite milk and etc.
Terrible 4 trips to pharmacy to get prescription when I finally got them got home one bottle looks like it was placed in front of a hot fire and melted. Couldnt even get medicine out of bottle because it was melted so bad. Why on earth would a tech place that in my sack because it was obvious. A five year old would have questioned that. Totally unacceptable. I will no longer use Kroger
Its... Okay. Depends on who you deal with. Produce and Meat people are sweethearts as are most of the cashiers. Baggers are typical goofy kids. Jerry is a senior front end customer service guy and he is one of the kindest most patient people youll ever meet. Just stay away from the female manager with the long white hair. Shes an evil mean spirited witch who treats both customers and employees with at best disdain and at worst flat out vindictive hatefulness. Avoid her at all costs.
Best Grocery Manager in this Central Illinois. Hes absolutely the upmost respectable grocer in the Town of Decatur, Illinois. The Mgmt here is Awesome. CLEAN STORE and I honestly Trust This Location. The food is always fresh the bread is always fresh the cheese is always fresh the bakery always smells amazing and its always pretty fast service. Two thumbs up
Who in the name of logistics designed the new layout of the store? Coffee and tea should be in the same aisle and nutrition drinks do not belong in the same aisle as baby products.I know people are more likely to do impulse buying if forced to wander around the store; however some of us go shopping with a list and do not have time to waste.
I like Krogers brand of ice cream, the Black Walnut. It is nearly always sold out when I come to buy it, which is at least 2 times a week. Recently I have gone to the Fairview plaza store & it was the same. I think that would tell this purchasing person to order more. Just saying, Prairie Farms had recently had Black Walnut ice cream at the North Walmart store, but its not as good
Walking for me is not easy with oxygen tank...parking close is never easy even with set aside spots that are usually filled...busy is Brettwood but so then was also Fairview Plaza before it closed....and Living by MacArthur. High School I really resent traveling farther away to get groceries. But then Aldis also deserted me and have to travel farther to get to them. But I forget its more equidistant for the outside travelers to shop and then home to Oreana-Argenta-Forsyth-Warrenburg-Harristown...etc.

2022-05-117pm the In doors are closed and blocked off, so everyone is pushing through the out. They dont carry some of the same products as the other Kroger here. Usually only one check out lane open, so self check it is. This is the new Farview Plaza Kroger, it wont last long at this rate and its probably the oldest running grocery store in Decatur we have left. Sad.

2022-02-02This location has been going downhill steadily since the Fairview location closed. Shelves look like a hurricane hit, checkouts backed up. They just reduced their hours again. Decatur needs more grocery options.

2022-02-01This review just went from 5 stars to 1! I just walked out after some of the most rude treatment Ive ever seen, the lady behind the customer service counter just flipped out telling me it was closed and has been all day and would be the rest of the night! Honestly if a man talked to me like that we would have a real problem.I just called to speak to a manager but obviously no one is answering the phones, trust me Kroger you have not heard the end of this! You need to control your rude, ignorant employees on what customer service is! Let me know how that goes for you...

2022-01-10When a company does not care enough to improve its problems over profits something will suffer, unfortunately with the pharmacy its the customers. After two years of trying to work with them I have to move on!!!

2021-09-10I only rate them 1 for service. Been there twice this week. The other day not mear enough checkouts for crowd they were half open while people stood half way through store to check out. Made it dofficult to shop. Today was worse. I manned check out 2 section of self serve. With their prices they can have more than one checkout. The girl working self serve could not care less about her job.....back to Aldi I go

2021-07-18From out of town, but did have to shop here. Employees very nice, but management is saying there is a coin shortage and there most certainly isnt!. Cashier said sorry for the wait but coin shortage. I did get my change, but when I asked what a coin shortage, I havent heard that anywhere else in my travels. She was like ya, shortage. That isnt TRUE!So I knocked off two stars for management creating a fake coin shortage.
