Horrible drug pusher. Office doesnt return calls. If you question him about meds or anything regarding his approach to treatment he dismisses you. He kicked my son out as a patient after I asked him to help me get him off the meds that were making him severely depressed and angry.
Are used to see Dr. Ahmed for my ADHD but according to him I needed to be on 3 different medications because I apparently have mood disorder which was determined that I don’t by another psychiatrist he’s nothing but a pill pusher and doesn’t care about his patients I would NEVER RECOMMEND HIM TO ANYONE he will scar your children for life and prescribe them medications that will have long lasting side effects I still suffer from migraines due to the 75 ml or vyvanse he continued to prescribe me for years even when I told him I wanted something different
I would highly recommend going elsewhere for your needs if you can. The doctor I took my daughter to here was only interested in pushing medication for his vague guesses of ADHD and anxiety without even doing some kind of evaluation. Our second appointment with him was supposed to be after a month of talk therapy and with him discussing what the therapist observed before the appointment. It was obvious, and admitted from the therapist, that the doctor did not so much as glance at any notes the therapist had. Then the scheduled weekly talk therapy sessions were changed to a new day without any advance notice. We only found out when we went to the scheduled session to find out the appointment was “scheduled for the next day”. Our original scheduled time was suddenly unavailable for a month and a half with no attempt to rectify the situation or even so much as apologize and explain what happened beyond some vague finger pointing at new office staff. And then the therapist changed her availability so that my daughter isn’t even able to have sessions at the time she was unilaterally moved to, and apparently “nothing can be done”.So if you are looking for a doctor interested in your or your child’s well-being and appreciate the concept of consistent scheduling and open communication, I would look elsewhere.

2022-07-15The worst staff ever!!!! If I could give zero stars i would! Tina who says shes the manager and Malerie continued to hang up on me when i asked questions about personal information given at intake, which I was later told by Isabel was lost in the billing department! I waited for over a month to get an appointment only to be told Dr. Amed (or whatever the name is) would not be seeing my son as a patient. Such horrible service. How these people are able to work with patients with mental health is beyond me! Take your service elsewhere because if they treat new patients with such disrespect how do they treat existing patients!!!!Read reviews and do research before contacting a behavioral health clinic for service. Do not place your mental health services with Joliet Behavioral Health & Associations.

2021-06-04I started seeing Dr Ahmed about a 18 months ago. I was extremely sad all the time and had a lot of anxiety. I was nervous and scared because no one ever really wants to need this type of doctor 😊I guess overall I felt defective. Dr Ahmed asked me lots of questions, most of them explained what I was feeling. He was kind and patient. He really listened to what I had to say. He didn’t just push pills at me. He had my vitamin D level checked. We also checked my thyroid. Both were low and affected my mood. He recommended light therapy and exercise. I did also use medication but he started with the smallest does possibly and monitored affects closely. At times when I felt very low he would remind me to be kind to myself and to be patient. He was often very encouraging. I now feel so much better. I had know idea how much I missed myself!Sadness had became my normal. When I started laughing and feeling happiness. It sorta felt like an old friend hanging out. Like I remember you where have you been!?? I missed you!🤣😂😂Thank you so much Dr Ahmed!

2021-02-13A little over a year ago I started my hunt for a psychiatrist & therapist office. I have had both good & bad experiences in the past before moving to Illinois. I knew what type of doctor I wanted to work with & see. After months of research, reading reviews & local recommendations I reached out to Dr. Ahmed’s office. Due to a demand for mental health & then the lockdowns for Covid. It took a few months to get into the office. I was in such need of support & help, I called the office many times with high anxiety and was always treated with care for my needs. Eventually I started seeing Dr. Ahmed via telemedicine in the spring of 2020. I also began working with a therapist in the office to manage my anxiety, depression & ptsd. Medication was not pushed, as I am not someone who loves taking medication. For the first time in my life I am on a very low dose of anxiety medication and have no drowsy side effects. I still have bi-weekly visits & the office works with me depending on my work schedule, kids school closures etc. I feel that I am supported & well taken care of by the entire staff. And cannot imagine going anywhere else for care.

2021-09-14I have been going to Joliet Behavioral health for 6 years. I am very appreciated of the support and great service they provide for me. They have 2 great receptionist; Mallory & Tina. They always greet me at the door & always ask how I have been since the previous time before. Dr. Ahmed is one of the greatest physchiatrist that I have been more than glad to know and have been glad to have help me with my life problems . My therapist Danellyn Shannon is the most amazing gal I have been able to trust with my life and let go out my insecurity.-Alysse Bratcher

2020-10-20I have seen Dr. Ahmed for about a year and I can’t say one negative thing. The receptionists are polite and call back quickly if they cannot answer at that moment. Dr. Ahmed is a great listener, insightful and truly cares about your well-being. He is timely with his appointments and in my experience I have never wait more than a few minutes to see him.

2019-05-19Dr Ahmed was able to prescribe the right medication for me and it worked which was a life saver. After 8 months, my insurance company couldn’t get them to respond for a drug renewal and it took me 5 attempts over 4 days with 4 no-call backs to finally have someone call me back and get a renewal only to receive a letter stating the doctor no longer wants to treat me?!?! Turns out this is apparently their standard practice instead of reaching out to the patient?!

2020-06-29I do not recommend going here whatsoever. They really had the audacity to tell me I owe over 800$ for 1-2 psychiatrist visits. Then sent me a letter saying they’re canceling all future appointments and not offering me services anymore. And to top it off the dr switched my medication 5 times within 2 months. I told him so many times I didn’t want to keep changing medicines because I know it’s not healthy. He insisted. That man should have his license taken away. If I could give no stars I would. This place is absolute garbage and they don’t give af about their patients. 0/10. F that place.

2021-02-04I brought my grandson here to see Dr. Ahmed and he was wonderful he did not push meds and he took his time with us and explained everything. The girls at the front desk were really nice and helped me with all of the problems that i had. The billing department helped me out and told me what i need to say to my insurance to get some claims paid. Thank you for all of your help

2019-02-06I would like to rate this jerk NO STARS! My daughter was diagnosed with autoimmune disease at 15 years old, symptoms were severe pain in joints of hands and Chrones-like symptoms. Dr Ahmed....this stupid man, prescribed anti depressants/anti anxiety meds. She was nauseated from them. He told me to cut them in half. That didnt work, made it worse. He told me to cut in 1/4. That was just as bad. She suffered for 3 weeks with nausea! I find out from the PHARMASIST that the medication is time released pill! I told him, no apology for his stupidity, he just changed it to something else. We went through many different medications, none took her pain away. Later on he called DCFS and accused me of munchausen syndrome which is when a parent falsifys a childs illness!!! Of couse after having my whole family, friends and reg doctors interviewed over a hellish period of 5 months. DCFS agent came to the conclusion that HE should NOT be a Dr!!!
