Shout out to Scott and his directions on the previous review. This place is tight and swing wide right from Damen ave into the first alley after crossing over South blue island ave. Once you get in they start unloading immediately.
Swing it as wide as u can itSo u can enter the alley where they have 1 dock at angle....🤦🏾♂️TightGood luck!
Tight squeeze getting into the loading dock and out however my husband is a A1 driver the best and the staff was very friendly and clean bathrooms.(Trucking All Over)
Ive enjoyed Hofmeister hams each holiday for many years. They consistently deliver the best quality and flavor. My holiday guests always comment that they have never tasted a better ham and thats why I continue to serve it each year. My favorite is the bone in ham. I love the glaze that comes with the ham. It makes the holiday meal easy and special. Who could ask for more?!
If delivering here, stay on damen ave and take first alley on rhs after you cross blue island ave. very tight turn, swing WIDE! Only one dock. good luck.

Easy to get to but a little tight to get into. But the people who work there are awesome. Thxs for the great job you did.
Nyc place for delivery just got free within hourThey respect for driversBut this place was little tight and only one dock for pickup and delivery

Ham was so-so, inspectors in front entrance of building (whats going on in here??!!) Employees told me they sold primarily to the illinois school district...........average at best

Its a first come place and ended I was first and at the end u had to move from the door this place its really tight no room for mistakes
For truckers delivering this place is a nightmare

2022-07-22Extremely tight dock area, just take it slow, dont be in a hurry. Check the area out first to see what your up against. Very nice gentleman showed me the dock area and gave me some direction on how to approach.Super nice folks and quick unloading, definitely test your skills as a professional driver, the friendliness of the folks that work here more than makes up for it.

2022-06-26The best part about this live unload is the working class at Hofmeister, they couldn’t ask for a better staff, make sure to check in after 5am in the alley.They unloaded super fast, however get there before 5am, because it’s a busy intersection and you need to swing wide, all the way to oncoming traffic to make the right turn into the alley on Damen, so from 290: exit on ashland, right on ashland, right on blue island, park your truck before the intersection…. from 55 exit on damen, drive north on damen and park before you cross that intersection.No Overnight parking!

2021-11-30This place can b very difficult if delivering. They take deliveries around the back of the building. Make sure your tandems are slid all the way forward so u can make the right hand turn into the alley behind the building.

2021-10-13Hi, Today at 1 o’clock he was out for smoke my truck was stuck over there & was very hard time for me, he helped me to get out by stopping the traffic and backing all the way, but there was little misunderstanding that I’ve their delivery so he came again to rescue me and I didn’t know that he don’t know. After all he did a-lot for me and I feel so bad after telling that I’m not here for your delivery. I’m so sorry & thank you for help. I wanted to come back and meet personally but I didn’t know his name.Any management person who is going to check it please say thank you from my side to him. Thanks againLove from Canada!!

2021-11-23Bad place to work in, unprofessional and dirty. They mess with the weights of meat/fat to water with all the hams even the government ham, so people don’t actually know what they are really eating! I feel sorry for older people that have health problems and eat their ham.

2020-05-15Very efficient and quality customer service, provides ham and deli products for individuals and manufacturers to buy . Very friendly front desk and website is up to date . Only negative factor is the lack of parking for customers and clients . So plan your trip beforehand to find a parking spot or you will walking a decent amount of blocks to come here .

2019-10-22This place makes you give them your drivers license as a driver where they scan it and put it on file. They say for quality reasons. However the carrier is responsible for the load quality. They for some reason think they arent opening themselves up to be sued for identification theft.

2018-07-03Extremely nice people, best if you come before 5am. Don’t come hours before your appointment. Use all lanes to get into the first alley entrance after passing Blue Island ave. Make sure it’s the very first one. Backing is not bad if you setup right.
