I avoid shopping here when I can. Besides being overpriced and the store itself showing signs of wear, they never have enough registers open. I usually end up waiting in line for 10+ minutes to check out. To make matters worse, they recently closed their self checkout lanes. The only positive thing is their friendly staff, but its still not enough to redeem the experience.
Great place for grocery shopping, even an employees gets discount on their groceries. Also with many customers constantly tells an employee (mostly baggers) or cashiers where certain things & bathrooms is at, all they would have to do is to either go to the customer service (where the (assistant) manager is at, or ask the (assistant) manager, or cashiers for those questions, NOT AN EMPLOYEE, BAGGING GROCERIES! EMPLOYEES WHO IS BAGGING GROCERIES DONT HAVE TIME (& IS NOT RESPONSIBLE) FOR THOSE QUESTIONS, EMPLOYEES WHO ARE BAGGING GROCERIES ARE NOT ROBOTS!!!!, & WHEN BAGGERS WHO HAS TO PUSH CARTS OUTSIDE, JUST GIVE THE EMPLOYEES (WHO ALSO DOES BAGGING GROCERIES) TIME & ROOM (ESPECIALLY ON VERY BUSY DAYS LIKE WEEKENDS & HOLIDAYS) WHEN THERE ARE NO CARTS INSIDE THE STORE BECAUSE THE EMPLOYEES IS EXTREMELY BUSY, AND DRIVE SLOWLY WHEN SEEING EMPLOYEES PUSHING CARTS INSIDE THE STORE, THIS IS WORK, NOT A GAME CALLED HIT & RUN! SOMEDAY WHEN AN EMPLOYEE WHO PUSHES CARTS OUTSIDE, & GETS HIT BY A CAR (DRIVING TOO FAST), DONT BLAME THE STORE EMPLOYERS, DRIVERS ARE THE BLAME THEMSELVES FOR THEIR OWN ACTIONS!!
Sometimes their prices are really high, but I dont think this is unique to them. You have to be extra savvy to hold onto your money when it comes to groceries. That being said they have made some nice renovations to the store and they figured out that they needed a better self-check out system and not that they needed to get rid of it altogether. That has greatly increased my willingness to swing by and pick up a handful of things.
Service desk can use support and a little more patience as it shows during customer interaction. The person or persons who monitor self check out do a good job at overseeing their area during the week and it shows by the support Ive witness during a male function issue with a couple if resisters at the same time.
Today. Checked out at the self checkout. When done, the machine wouldnt accept cash! Move to another self checkout. Rerun everything again! When I left, 5 of the self checkout machines werent working! For the past five weeks, on Saturday only, the self checkout does not recognize the Sun-Times newspaper!! The asst. Manager is rude! Jewel needs to update the barcode for the Saturday paper. Manager says its not their problem!!
I went to jewel to get some Sweet Italian Sausage. (Any brand). I was told by Mgr (I think his title) of butcher dept that he keeps ordering but they keep sending the Hot Italian Sausage (Johnsville brand). I was desperate so thought Id try Meyer grocery store. They had it! If jewel cant get the brand name, why cant they order a different brand? If I were the meat depths mgr, I would definitely complain to the Vendor that if Meyer can get it, so should Jewel! Ps...its not the dept mgrs fault. Obviously the Vendor prefers to supply it to Meyers. Jewel had it on sale, but didnt have the product : ( I paid .20 more for it due to no sale price at Meyer. Jewel is losing my sale & most likely others as well. Sorry, jewel. I would have rathered to buy it from u. Try supporting local Farms. I can get it at Woodmans who buys from Wisconsin farms🤔
Visited this Jewel day after the other great Jewel. Was amazed at the wide variety of almost all their products. Lots of fun loading up the cart...great veggies in appealing displays, so many varieties in every department. I was amazed...I just kept loading up the cart like a kid in a candy store!
I would like to recognize the Assistant Manager Ron for helping with boxes for a food drive we hosted today. I came in earlier this week and he said he would have boxes set aside for me. Sure enough I stopped in this morning and he was able to accommodate. With those boxes we were able to collect more non perishable food than originally planned for those in need. Thank you Ron for helping.
This is place is a joke. A cashier came running after my mom claiming that my card didn’t “go through” after we almost got to my car. The cashier later told me “it was my fault for not waiting for the receipt” first of all she was distracted since the minute my transaction started. Wasn’t even bothered to help bag my bags. Once I got back inside, the manger gave me my receipt without a problem. If a cashier is that distracted she should even be a cashier
First time ever ordering online for groceries and it gets delayed. That isnt convenient at all, especially when I have work and wont be able to pick up at their latest time. How hard can it be? I work a warehouse three times bigger than this place and am able to fill hundreds of orders in a few hours. Here is an idea, dont have a pick up time if you cant follow through with it.
This Jewel is dirty, has terrible produce, rude employees, overcooked fried chicken, and keeps expired product out on the shelf so if you have to go here make sure to check expiration dates because if you buy any of their expired product they wont let you return it. I go out of my way to avoid this Jewel.
A package of mine was dropped off on 10/1 at this Jewels location for FedEx. After a week and the tracking never updating I called Jewels multiple times only to be told they don’t have any packages and everything has been shipped out. I decided to go there and was told by a manager there wasn’t anything they could do and that their just a middle man. What type of business doesn’t keep track of who takes and brings packages in for FedEx? This location offered NO type of assistance and just gave a dry sorry. After speaking to FedEx I am certain someone from this location stole the contents of my package (iPhone) as FedEx confirmed they never received the package. I will NEVER use this as a FedEx hub and the bad taste it left I prob will nvr shop there again as well.
There is a reason, besides their high prices, that I do not shop at this store and today once again confirmed why I rarely go in here. In an environment of a rare pandemic, we all should be stepping up to help each other out but these employees refuse to go above and beyond their job, refusing to help somebody at the helpdesk just because it’s a few minutes before their “start” time. If I had done that at any place I’ve worked, I would have been fired.
The employees at Jewel are very nice. The young ladies working at the tcf bank thats inside of Jewel are very sweet and respectful. Ive been coming to tcf for three years now and Ive never had a problem with the bank tellers. My special needs daughter loves to go to the bank with me because she likes the attention that the bank tellers give her.
Customer service is horrible. Once I went over to ask someone for help and the person totally ignored me. The people who handle carts dont know how to talk or communicate at all. I have been going to the pharmacy everyday for the past week to pick up my grandmas allergy meds and they have been lying and kept telling us that the meds will be ready the next day. They also never have the baby food I get in stock. Worst Jewel Osco I have ever been to.
Kelly who work November the 24th at around 6pm is very rude, glares at her customers, and told her eyes. We asked another worker if a manager is on duty, she said yes and led us to another associate who was NOT a manager. After finally finding the manager, and a compliant was made , she followed us and even glared the manager down. She swore at us and two other customers in front of us made complaints as well.
I had been going to this Jewel for many years. Never realized who the manager was, because I never had a complaint to make ....and Im very critical in voice....I saw today some woman making a tantrum of a 4 year old at the Customer Service desk......she made a complete ass out of herself.I had found that one of my high school alumni is the manager ...I saw this transpire, it made me sick.
I am from out of the area and i was looking for a place to buy an ipass. The store was very clean and i easily found the service desk. The woman showed me the process of buying an ipass and easily helped me through the registration on my phone. She was very friendly and overall its a good grocery store.
I dont usually go to this Jewel and heres the reason why I walked in there at 9 at night all the food and vegetables are covered and they dont have anything out I know it was a Sunday night but why are you covering stuff up I walked in the other Jewels at 9 at night on a Sunday and everything still there Im not saying that they were out of it also this Joel their fruits and vegetables arent as fresh as the other Jewel Ive experienced that before
Full service store; has Osco Pharmacy attached and TCF bank. Theres a fresh produce department, deli and bakery. Theres a meat department with butcher. Youll find the dairy products near by along with frozen foods. The isles are full of various items. The end caps have specials and sale items. There are sales racks with manager specials when available also in the meat department. Theres even a floral and liquor department. You can pick up Red box movies, lottery scratch off tickets, propane tanks. You are encouraged to bring your own reusable bags, you can buy some there; they currently offer plastic bags if you dont choose to do either. There are weekly adds and or a down loadable app for your mobile device. Cash, credit, debit cards and ebt/link cards accepted. Hope this helps.
If you’re from out of town and want to buy alcohol, don’t bother. They’ll waste your time by calling the manager who will tell the cashier that since they’re the ones making the sale it’s up to them and they’ll refuse to sell to you. Very poor business practice, go anywhere else
I prefer this Jewel-Osco because the taxes are cheaper and they seem to still be very customer service oriented however some things are really overpriced absolutely hate self checkout I believe Im going to pay full price first job as opposed to going to a discount store that I should at least have somebody to bring it up instead of having to go through all that drama for myself end up having to stand around for the cashier to come over and fix whatever computer did anyway I think they should get rid of these computers and put the jobs back in the hands of the people

2019-08-24This Jewel is also getting an interior facelift. The updates look really nice but they may still be doing some work at this time because there is still some tile left down the center aisles rather than the vinyl wood flooring.The updates included the addition of several self checkout lanes which are great.Store seemed well organized and clean with stocked shelves.

2022-01-29Apparently my kid isnt a human being according to workers at this jewel.After grocery shopping and getting ready to leave the store we passed by a table with about 50 or so of the n95 masks, I had my 9-year-old with me and I hadnt seen these be handed out yet, so I asked one of the workers it says three per person do we have to scan these or no? She said no, so I grabbed three for me and three for my son, at which point she told me to put three of them back because Youre not the only person that matters, there are other people in the world other than you. I said so my son doesnt get one and she gave me a dirty look and said only take three.Good to see that this jewel is teaching that childrens lives dont matter to their employees.

2021-12-14This store gets the job done, but could use some improvements. Store hours are accommodating. Generally well stocked; however, I run into a lot of cases of finding that Ive just purchased an expired product, or almost expired product, on items that should have a long shelf life - granola bars and frozen meals seem to be the most common culprits.And too many times, when Im reviewing the receipt, I see there is an item that was clearly marked on sale (and not one that required an app coupon), but I get charged a higher price. I cannot micro-manage the checkout screen for every single item. I should be able to trust Ill be charged the price shown on the shelf.Finally, in the later evening I have a hard time finding an employee check stand open. Instead I am often directed to self checkout, with a cart full of items that takes me forever to scan through and then pile on the limited bagging space. The store should ALWAYS have at least one employee check stand open at all times.

2022-03-10Are usually go to the Osco on Summit but went to this one today every time I bake cakes I always go to their bakeries to ask for frosting and today when I went to the bakery said they had absolutely no frosting and I think that’s ridiculous how does a bakery not have any frosting at all

2022-03-10I didn’t go in for any produce, but the produce department looked great and the minneola oranges were too tempting. When I think about it, their produce always looks great at this location!

2022-01-13Beware of their delivery service. The last two times I ordered they gave me the worst vegetables they could find. The ground beef on my last order was spoiled. All the extra money you pay for delivery and they take advantage and give you the leftovers. Im done with Jewel all together.

2021-12-24Gotta give a shout out to customer service rep Kyle - we called the store on Christmas Eve to see if a specific gift card was on the gift card tree. He answered the phone in less than 3 rings, had a super pleasant attitude, and personally went to check the gift card tree for us. We are grateful for his Christmas spirit and appreciate his awesome customer service. Thanks, Kyle!

2021-12-04This pharmacy is a joke with the booster shots. Don’t waste your time. These large companies are getting paid to give booster shots by the government but it seems like they definitely don’t like doing it. I went there at 9 o’clock on a Saturday and they told me they don’t give shots until 10?????? With 10 people behind the counter? Went back at 9:20 stood in line for 30 minutes and the lady tells me there’s seven people in front of you? And I said I was here at 9 o’clock? What a joke…….
