Love the variety of foods and healthy foods here. Its always clean and a fun shopping experience. Prices are a bit higher than most grocery stores but its great to come for specialty items.

Great produce, decent prices. I usually scan the sales first and usually pick based off that (especially since Im just responsible for feeding myself). Non-perishable food items good quality, variety, price. I dont usually get household supplies here, never really think to but they do have them.

Stars only for curbside pickup. Thought we would give it a try to make things a little easier. None of the produce i would have picked up myself. Things were not packaged well. The time I spent on the phone complaining I could have just went in the store myself
Same old jewel if you need something you stop there. You pay for the convenience. Honestly the produce is nothing to write home about. they are still changing all the things we get used to in like so much and take them off the shelves...where did they go??? Clean store with very kind helpful staff.
Since Marianos & Heinens moved in Jewel has definitely responded favorably. They need to stay on their toes though, as convince is truly their strong hold. Keep going in the right direction & never grow stagnant. So far so good..
The store doesnt seem crowded until you get to check out. Lots of people in line to get out and only 2 lines open for people with big orders. They do have a separate lane for under 15 items, but that is busy too. Too bad they took out the self checkouts.
Curbside pickup was incredibly disappointing. All of the produce was disappointing. Unripe lemons, bananas that are both green and brown, and incredibly rotten and rancid oyster mushrooms with fluid on the bottom of the package. Very disappointed and convinced they must give curbside folks the worst of their produce in order to get it out the door.
Complex order, lots of coupons, one not applied and, even though after 11 pm, the cashier was able to correct it. Left a happy shopper!
Convenient grocery store in town. Usually some Fair sales going on every week however, pay attention to the price you see it marked as and the price that it actually Rings up at the register.I shop here two to three times a week and about 60% of the time the prices dont match on an item or two or more. I recommend just paying attention to what the prices ring up as and speak up if its wrong they usually change it for you to the price we the customers see it post as in the aisles.
Always a great stop to get items I need for lunch for work. Theres never a line in the morning, so its a quick in and out place. Always well stocked when Im there.
Much better than years past, still not on par with some other grocers. Improvement with deli, and salad bar a big notice on my end. Jewel is missing the high end imports, and specialty items some other stores have. Still a regular customer.
Great store but needs to be better about out of date products. Yesterday I got a bottle of dr dynamite that expired 8/25/20.
We deserve better in this great community and unfortunately jewel doesnt cut it. So many other grocery stores are so much nicer but not our jewel. Also they have no idea how to bag groceries putting shampoos with meat or box foods with frozen. Simple training. I prefer to drive to Marianos.

Im impressed with this Jewel store. It has more variety of grocery and produce, and higher quality items and surprisingly good selection in the liquor department. This is probably our new regular Jewel store.
The florists here work wonders! My husband and I purchased all our wedding flowers and corsages/boutonnieres/bouquets--it was VERY reasonably priced and easy to work with the florists. Easy way to save money without compromising the look of our wedding.
Its fair. gotten better but its not Marianos. Wish the baggers learned how to bag properly as well. Tired of perishable foods with cleaning products.

I feel uncomfortable making a bad report on my local Jewel. However, after returning moldy produce SEVERAL times; only to get another batch with mold. I have told the manager (male) about this on going problem. I think its only right to let the shoppers know about the issue. My family has had lots of stomach aches, and cramping not knowing why. Please check your FRUIT. INSIDE AND OUT. There is no hate here, just concern.

Great. just watch out for mustache lady. Ive been living here for a decade and she knows me but she still needs an ID I guess. Times have changed since the 90s. Heads up. If they want to scan your ID say no. They sell your personal info(how much booze you buy) to third-party organizations and health insurance companies. If your smart..... I dont think I have to go any further. haha
Your average grocery store. Their deli is very organized and the people behind the counter are very helpful. Their liquor section is also a must see with great deals always going on.
Employees at the Barrington Jewel are always friendly and helpful. However, during this dreadful time, I want to comment on the wonderful, friendly, and helpful service they provided today - I hope you appreciate your employees!
This place isnt too active during the day on weekdays, but it stocks a large variety of pretty much anything you might need, and at decent prices. They even had some fresh-looking sushi at the deli.
It is a great place to visit when you are looking for food in the area. It is recently being remodeled. Some things are hard to find but the staff are very happy to direct you in the right direction. Good location in downtown area.
A couple of sale items did not ring up on sale and checker did not adjust the sale price correctly to reflect sale price once I checked receipt at home. U have a messed up system some sale prices are adjusted when its rung up and some u have to check at the end of the receipt. This is very confusing and inconvenient for the customer. 😞

I like most of the people who work here and everyone is very friendly except for one of the managers Megan Kelly who likes to kick people out acuse them of stealing even if they have a recipte and call the cops on people for no reason and make up stories about people.

This location the bathrooms were very clean which most are not. This location was also laid out very well and organized nicely.

2022-05-14This jewel often likes to close 5-10 minutes early. As a company, when you say open until 12, YOU STAY OPEN UNTIL 12. I’m a busy, working individual and came by 5 minutes before closing. The doors were locked and there wasn’t a worker in sight. Extremely displeased with Jewel Osco, if your open until 12 YOU STAY OPEN UNTIL 12. Will be taking my business elsewhere. Don’t recommend this store if your counting on them being open until closing time. Completely unacceptable. Do better.

2022-06-17I came to this grocery store recently and had a horrific experience. The staff would not stop following me as I was looking to purchase some items. Many staff members kept looking at me and laughing to each other. Assumingly they where making rude comments about me. I was about to check out at the register and the cashier told me that she does not think I need to be buying junk food. This I took personal as for many years I struggled with my weight. As she said this many staff started to laugh and I left and I will NEVER be coming back. Please re-teach your staff manners.

2022-07-18Seems to be a Jewel everywhere when we need one, thankfully. Wishing theyd take the lead in bakery with vegan decals on inhouse items. Or at least no egg and/or dairy sticker if it doesnt contain it. So many delicious, economical alternatives right in your own dairy section.

2022-06-17I went here with my friends a couple weeks back to get some groceries, seeing as we live near here. As we went over to the chips section I saw an elderly woman who told me, “you look like you eat those chips a lot,” and proceeded to call me overweight. I feel offended and my friends were shocked. I am not comfortable with going there again and will not until I’ve decided it’s safe from body shaming. The strawberries were also very gross and moldy when we went to make a homemade pink drink. The fruits were not the best especially seeing as it was the kinky safe spot at the store where I was free of body shaming. I feel hurt and alone in this bullying scenario. I hope in the future instead of kicking us out you will kick out the one in the wrong.

2022-07-16Cashiers are rude. Made me leave my two toddlers by themselves, so I can grab three bags of salt on the other side of the store, since they evidently can’t ring that up without having the actual bags to scan. She was very rude about it. Deli service extremely slow as well.

2022-01-24Terrible experience. I’ve been shopping to pick up at Target for a while and was very please with everything… However, I made a huge mistake when I decided to order online to pickup at Jewel!!! They substituted several of my items, ALWAYS for something more expensive for mug unpleasant surprise!!! Now I’m stuck with items I don’t even want and had to pay a lot more for!! They also added more expensive meats than the ones I originally ordered and so on and so forth!!! When I parked my car to pick up, no one checked my code to verify the hours … they simply opened my trunk, which scared me and my son to death and added the items. When I called customer service they said that’s how operate and when asked why do they have a code for safety reasons if not going to be checked, he said “it’s a good question”. He said that the system provides additional (expensive) items rather than what you’ve ordered because “something is better than nothing” … what??? I prefer nothing that pay a price I didn’t agree to an item I don’t want to start with!!!! Such a SCAM!!! Worse yet, I went inside the store, and they had the items I originally ordered!!!! Absolutely do NOT recommend AT ALL the pick up service!!! Do yourself a service and shop Target instead!! A lot more honest and reliable!!!

2019-06-16I went here on 6/15/2019 to grab some fathers day chips and dip and was disgusted to find that the dip was significantly past the date which is printed on the product (see attached photo). When I went to the salad bar they werent even capable of putting labels of the products which I was able to choose from. I go to Marianos and other grocery stores and they never disappoint and their quality staff never makes these mistakes. I cant believe that this Barrington location fails to have the proper management in place to execute the most simplest of tasks. Imagine how upset you would be buying product and getting home to see its already exceeded its date. I understand everyone would check the date first but lets say the people who dont, this is a grocery store and thats their job to maintain this standard..

2021-04-19Super clean store. Sushi is tbh as good as many good sushi joints. Fresh produce. Huge product variety. Prices are a little higher than some other places. Jewel does, however, have some pretty great sales and gas rewards. I wish the staff at this location was more friendly. I do not recall ever being greeted in all of my visits. They seem to only speak when needed at check out.
