The selection seems to have gotten smaller over the years, but Ive been able to find a decent amount of Christmas gifts here over the years.
Best cheap store around. If youre big boned like me🤔 its the only place to go. Now there is hardly anything in the store and then you have to find somebody to check you out. Then you have to hope they know how to do it. Shadow of the old store
Tags were wrong on my clothes and prices didnt match the rack they were on. One person checking out everyone and they were very busy..couldnt find anyone to help us either. Our cashier was friendly though Ill give her kudos for that.
I like their clothes but there was 2 visible people working at 6:00 on a Wednesday night why even bother to open. Stood there for 10 to get checked out.
Would not accept return on JCPenney brand clothing in new condition with tags. Would not recommend. I showed the employee their corporate policy directly from their website, but insisted I was mistaken.
Great shopping experience in this location! Very nice clothes, decent prices, easy to get to. Friendly staff, great selection of items to choose from for anyone. Only sorry I was just visiting and didnt give this review sooner. My store closed in Massachusetts and I have to travel further to get the correct stuff. Ordering items online can be a hassel when things dont work out in my favor. Thanks for being a great company for many years! My earlier years, I had been an employee and it was a decent experience!

Great sales as the season changes. The store definitely has that hollow feeling... Disorganized shelves, few patrons and hard to find associates... All adds up to a quiet, minimalist shopping experience. Worth the deals.
I went in not knowing where to find a certain work shirt and every time I walked by a worker they asked if I was finding everything okay and if I needed help. One lady understood what I was looking for and walked me directly to the item and told me where the dressing rooms were too. It was just such a smooth and satisfying experience. Check out was great too and the cashier scanned a Sunday paper coupon for me. Much appreciated.
Good selections on better than average mens clothing.Service lady was very nice and helpful.Cashier was new and not trained very well didnt even know about current coupon available.Nice clean store with school selection.Was not very crowded.We will be back
Two registers open a lot of customers. Everything ringing up wrong. Three items all priced incorrectly grossly more than should have been. One item the lady actually said where did you get that from? It is out of stock! There were hardly any employees. The ones we finally found were polite and friendly.
Its a special place in the market place mall and does a great service to the people,although Im not a big shopper here I do see mothers going in getting clothes.JCPennes has been around,we know them as people and the quality is good,so if you want to save or even pay a little more for that extra Jcpenney is your place of business.i rate them a 5 star cause all my trips there I always got what i was looking for,and i like their selection of sox for men.
Went to buy a couple pair of tall jeans. The ONLY price sign said $49.99 and at the register they were amazingly $59.99. Didnt argue buying them online. Thanks for the free sizing! Makes ordering these online easier. 😂
It was clean, while salespeople were stocking and straightening areas. I had not shopped retail (brick and mortar) in a while. Some very good sales even before Black Friday. I recommend a look and see before you order online.

Found what we can to get, but the store has very little merchandise.
Very unorganized. Tried to find Levi jeans 34 x 34 jeans are just thrower up on shelves. All sizes mixed up all over the place. I dug around for awhile never found the size I needed. Disappointed I had did through all sizes instead or organized on shelf better.
I still enjoy JCPenney. I know according to the news they have been struggling over the past few years however I will shop there until they close but Id rather see a strong rebound hang in there JCPenney lot of customers believe in you
I went to the JCP Salon and I had a great experience. I got a hair cut with styling and it was only $32 (I used a coupon as well). Allie was very nice and understood what I wanted, and gave me a very nice haircut! I am so glad I found this salon and Ill definitely come back.

Awful experience at this store. While I was checking out the sales person was talking with another customer instead of paying attention to the sale she rang up several items incorrectly when I attempted to tell her about the situation she became really rude. Great store but needs different sales people and customer service
I have always loved shopping here. Miss my store, but always stop in when in Champaign.
Not once were we asked if we needed any help. Nobody checked on us to see if we needed help finding the correct size of suit. When checking out on the mens side, woman helping us was very short with her answers, did not clarify questions, and was plain rude. Will not return to this store ever!

Nice place to shop but they lack in few areas such as they do not have price scanner anywhere and during week days you will have hard time for checkout because they have very less people.
Some displays are thin on product. The sales arent marked on a majority of clothes, but the deals are pretty good.

A few really nice inexpensive options here that are worth much more than their purchase price. Other than that nothing else going on here. Check out their Stafford mens shoes as an example.

I had a bad experience to whom I asked for attention to a brunette and she answered me in a very ugly way, she yelled at me, however I did not understand her because I do not speak English but my husband did understand everything after that I already wanted to buy because I felt very discriminated against , is not the correct theory for a human being. Im sorry but God takes care of everything.

2020-02-23Great customer service. Always ask if we needed help.But the store is just not well stocked and not as clean as others. I saw some clothes full of lint and dirty. Maybe the store is just too big?

2021-07-24Like most other Penneys, the store was well organized and the staff was friendly and helpful. The store was very clean and tidy. Its located inside of the market place mall which is very nice with a bunch of different stores and options. I definitely recommend checking out either the Pennys or the mall if youre in this area.

2020-11-08Went there for one specific items which clearly said 20% that item. Nope rang up regular and wouod not discount it. I went backntook a photo of the sign and explained this sign is clearly 20% off. Send someone over to validate it and please apply the correct discount. These two ladies werent happy about it but did apply the 20% to our purchase. As we walked off one told the other to go remove the sign. Buyer beware.

2021-06-12Great customer service. My crazy self accidentally placed two orders online for the exact same items. I took one of the orders in and had no problem getting a refund. Of course, while I was there I had to do some shopping as they had some really good sales.

2021-07-25Had a new ring sized here and they did a beautiful job! The staff were all very helpful and friendly. I hope this store can hang in there since Mattoon and others have closed because I live everything about JCPenney! They truly offer high quality and unique merchandise.

2021-03-26I had the worst experience and I am never going to buy at JC penny now. I got some order online for curbside pickup. App said its delayed, I called the store and someone said they are going to come out but had to wait to so long. So I thought I want to cancel but they said I need to come inside the store to get the item returned and the item is in the store. Why would I come inside the store to return the item that is already there, Manager told us that is the rule. Manager even did not apologize, she was just saying its the rule and did not even address the problem. Also one of the item did not came for a month and when I called the store they have no idea where it is , refund it being processed for that though.
