Never load here. They lie and say load will be ready Thursday at 6pm, come Saturday at 6am load is not finished and they will not give you your trailer back. We have been waiting in 10 CASES, and no one has thr brains to go ahead and send what is available and let our driver leave.
Not as bad as the previous reviews. No you dont have to pay for the trailer wash. Security could be a little more helpful and friendly but then again if you dont drown yourself in the shower you can also figure this place out. Pass the scale and hook it left. Back in the wash bays (tandems back). Check in with the wash crew and theyll send you to security. Check in, come back out pull a slight right and cross the driveway to the parking lot. Find a spot on the right and drop the trailer in the spot. Come back the way you came and hook a left. Turn around in the dead end and find a nice cozy dirt spot on the right to wait. Easy enough
Theyre supposed to give you grade pay after you qualify, but 9 months later they still paid me the same as new hires walking through the door. The longtime workers are aloud to call you names and disrespect you openly without penalty. I had to learn 4 or 5 different jobs (2 of which were grade 7 jobs), so that the older workers didnt have to work as hard. Meaning sometimes I was sacrificed and only got one break that day, so that everyone else could get away from doing their jobs (again while I was being paid the bare minimum). The training is non-existent, you either learn on the fly or the rest of the crew will scream in your face (once again, without being penalized). When I got hurt doing a job that I wasnt trained on, they threatened to fire me because they never provided me with health insurance and then when my supervisor got caught lying about the situation, the company still wanted to fire me because I was easier to replace than he was (yes they actually told me that). I got screamed at and called names everyday because the bosses would put me on several different jobs at once and then would tell the crew that I was disregarding his instructions to avoid getting into disagreements with them. When other managers would come to our area none of them would communicate with each other so I often for yelled at and called names for doing exactly what I was told to do. Mostly by the other workers who (again) were never told to stop despite openly doing it in front of management. I was also lied to about my schedule. Instead of working 8hrs a day / 5 days a week, we always worked a minimum of 9hrs a day and until recently we worked 6 days a week and (and still do when its possible). There were several occasions where I was told to stay extra hours to help other departments, and then wasnt paid for it after the manager said hed take care of the overtime on my time card. When Id get lunch break, the older workers would constantly hunt me down and ask me how long I was expecting to be because they need me to hurry so they can get to break. When I got injured, the company made me stay home for a month with no pay until I didnt have restrictions, despite a supervisor saying he could accommodate my restrictions (this was when they wanted to fire me for not getting the insurance they guaranteed me when I was hired). Im not saying everyone there is horrible, but it is about 60/40.. Most of the employees are helpful and respectful, but the 40% of them who arent make the place almost intolerable. Once I seen that they recently started giving the new hires a higher starting pay and extra vacation days, I asked to see my pay and vacation time and just as I suspected I was getting paid less after 9 months than the people coming in for orientation. Plus people with far less time in the company were handed more vacation time as well. Theres a reason everyone in the company has either been there a couple years or 15-30 years. Between managements dishonesty and the employees hate for new hires, anyone with a brain in their head is look for a new job within their first year in the company. Its not worth the decent pay they offer, its not worth being openly harassed, and its not worth the stress. Anyone reading this whose thinking this is a good opportunity, do yourself a favor and take a better job that will treat you right. Theres a reason this company pays top dollar and cant keep any workers. Its not because people dont wanna work, its because they will lie, harass, and threaten you until you hit your breaking point. If you didnt have this experience here, congratulations youre one of the lucky ones.
Everyone working the entrance seems cool even though its a cluster. Tons of trucks coming and going. I was overweight and had to have my load reworked. Been waiting just over two hours and got a door. They went to work as soon as I backed in. Hopefully the paper work doesnt take too long.
If you never been there before its kind of hard to figure out what to do immediately there are some signs but not really. So basically youre coming in and going straight to wash your empty trailer clean or not. You going to drop your empty in the yard in the center row or the road closest to the road and youre going to get your loaded trailer obviously the other row and then youre going to scale out and theyre going to have you paperwork I didnt enjoy my stay because they still make you wear masks and they tell you to put it over your nose and its tyrannical authoritarian totalitarian b*******.
First I thought it is not the worst facility I have been for, but after 24+ hours of waiting to be loaded, I think now this it is!It is absolutely unorganized place with poor management. There is very tight for the number of trucks going in and out. You have to backup to washout first, chek in there, then go to security wait in line, then do 360° on your truck to get on scale, then back again in line to security and only then you can drop the trailer. If you been told your load gonna be ready at next day noon, it is a lie. Be ready for 24+ hours wait.
12-20 - 19 scale is off. I was overweight. They scaled me at 79280 the scales at the truck wash next door reflected 80320. I knew I was overweight because my company has scales on the trailers. The wash out scale was accurate. Alot of the workers really seem over it there (every time I come here)except the older guy in the wash bay (always more energetic and upbeat than me)and the chic with the tattoo on her neck. I do not enjoy coming here. Its way to busy and way to crowded. My trailer is always ready but it takes forever for me to drop a trailer. I really would appreciate a better dropping system. Another thing that bothered me was when I had to get reworked i had to back into a door and they told me to go to door 12 but did not tell me they were not numbered. I’ve been to jbs all over the country. This location is all the way at the bottom of the list. Do to delay I will not make on time delivery.
Personally I think one star is way to much! The supervisors are very unprofessional they throw meat around , play in the water stalls , never around it’s just not a very professional work place. On top of the discrimination ,Highly recommend to get some pay checks n continue with your life cause JBS is gonna take it working 6 days a week no family time at all !!!
This place used to be pretty good. Now it takes 2+ hours to grab a drop and hook, they need to figure out a new system because this is waste of a drivers time and the employees are really unhappy to the point your completely treated like your not a human being. Sad cause some drivers that will be the only person they see that day and they get treated like they dont matter.
Dripped trailer one day early was suppose to load during night. Now over 3 hours passed when should of been leaving. People ok ,just place sucks to get load out of . Make deliveries hard to make if more than one stop because of getting you out late. Try not to load out of here. .
Absolutely horrible you have companies sending millions of dollars worth of equipment to put your product in and you cant take care of their equipment. While I was there heard about how a trailer had the tires come off the rim, probably bc your doing donuts around the place trying to check in and out with the tandems all the way to rear. And the so called gravel yard is a drivers nightmare, snow packed down to ice with ruts so deep slanted Id be surprised if the product they load isnt damaged from the trailers rocking back and forth trying to navigate through the miniature swimming pools. The entire process is awful the place looks extremely run down, makes you wonder how bad the meat processing area is compared to it. Good luck drivers and be extremely careful so you dont ruin your equipment. I hope this place gets fixed soon.
Waited 3 days for my trailer to be loaded...granted, some of this may have been because of 4th of July, but thats way too long...people were friendly there though.Heads-up too, they charge you a mandatory $44 trailer washout as well, even if your trailer was just washed out.
Place sucks. Been there 3 times and every time I wait 7+ hours to get my load. Never ready on time. Appt for 1700 got there alittle early so went to Walmart down the street. They called me at 2300 to tell me my load was ready. Gravel lot is a nightmare with deep potholes. Have vending machines. No o/n parking
Used to be tolerable, but the last several times Ive come here its consistently worse each time. They dont plow their lot, so have fun on the ice. Getting in and out of the wash bay is always a s*** show, they pile trailers into places that make it literally impossible to do your job but makes it easy to NOT do theirs. Typical dumpster fire company in a garbage can state like illinois, with a bunch of rude FIP employees. Im glad Im never coming back.
Drop n hook. The employees are very helpful. I called them to check status for early am appointment. Although they werent able to say if the load would be ready on time, She got our number and said they would call us. After a 14 hour day it was very nice to not have to get up and burn clock time checking on the load. They called us 1 hour after appointment with BOLs ready. Had to use on site washout. Typical processing plant...gravel and VERY stinky. Walmart about 1 mile away has plenty room and very friendly.Would be 5 stars except for the extreme stink!!
Decent place, I was a drop and hook, check in was moderate, they do have to wash your trailer even if you just came out of a washout elsewhere, drop yard is to your right as you come in it says gravel lot!Guard shack is got restrooms, Vending Machines, Microwave, Picnic Tables for use the short time you are there anyways, NO-Overnight Parking, Walmart a mile down the road is not Trucker friendly, Bobtails ok.
Appointment at 0300. Arrived at 0150Wasnt out till 0858SoWhere to start???How about where i was supposed to be called when the load was done, and no one called for an hour after it was completed and ready for pickup. Luckily, i was woken up by your meth addict lookin yard driver, who found it appropriate to bang on my door so hard, it now has a dent, all so he could wake me up and ask why i was parked there. Mind you, i was out of the way, in the corner behind trailers. But her proceeded to ask if my vision was bad because im not allowed to park in the lot and apparently theres some imaginary fu***ng sign. I began to explain that i have been here since 3am, and security told me to park in the lot and they will call me. At which point, he called me a liar and said they wouldnt have told me to park here and asked me if i was toopid. He then proceeded to tell me i should have parked in the roadYesThe roadThe one the city has about 30 no parking signs on and warning signs for tractor trailers and how they WILL tow them. Not to mention the signs inside security, that states as well DO NOT PARK ON THE STREET.The last time i was here... someone backed into my truck, and was allowed TO LEAVE THE PROPERTY AFTER HITTING ME. When the company is who witnessed it, but yet didnt stop the person at the gate. I didnt think it could be topped, but now, in light of the most recent visit, i will NOT be working with this location any longer.
Billion dollar company if not million and they cant even lay salt on their already awful lot for empty and loaded trailers. Ive seen so many trucks stuck in the 10 foot wide 2 foot deep pot holes littering this yard its ridiculous. I went 5 mph and was uncontrollably slidding everywhere. Hire a salt truck you cheap sob and lay some gravel down good grief.***UPDATE: you guys can afford to throw two brand new no parked signs down on the one little stretch of gravel at the entrance but you cant figure out a easier system to work these trucks? Its a lose lose here. They want you to not pull a u turn from the scale but they also dont want you sitting in the way when you have no where else to go. They want you to pull all the way around on their awful lot just so you can get stuck there when everyone starts rolling in. I parked there before grabbing my paper work because the last 2 times I tried to follow the rules I ended up waiting 30 to 40 mins trying to leave because no one would get tf out of the way for me to exit. You either follow the rules and get stuck or you try to and get stuck and get yelled at by one of the many guards with a stick up their butt. None of those guards work as a team they all hate everything around them and themselves. Its insufficient and a waste of time.
When I arrived,I pulled into the driveway (but dont stop in the driveway) and turned left after scale to set up my back in for the washout.(slide tandems/open doors) After you do that, walk up the ramp to check in with the wash bay person(have pu#, trlr#, trk# etc) who will give you a ticket, afterwards go around the corner of the building to see security who will see if load is ready. After that, go back to washbay & theyll give you a seal to put on your trailer & then have you drop your empty in their lot that you passed by on entry. If your load is delayed, youll park off property at Walmart. Washbay personnel & security were pretty cool & gave thorough information 👍
This place is a joke, trailers just put anywhere, never have loads ready, no communication between the billing department and security. And they expect you to show up and waste your time on your clock, to come to that hole in a wall of a place. Then it has gotten even worse since they have added more companies to load trailers out there. If my company didnt pick up from there, I would never go there. Its the worse meat packing plant ever besides the one in Greeley, Colorado. And thats where the main headquarters is, and that one is even worse. Somebody needs to ride these places to get loads on time. Tired of gettting to my receivers a day or two days late because of them. Makes no sense. I wouldnt want to work for them. Especially if I had to deal with the same nonsense the give to us truckers . Somebody needs to come in and regulate more then just the FDA. Maybe then they will take their thumbs out their butts and do some work.
Do not go here! I would give zero stars but not an option. You will wait at least 10 to 15 hours to get loaded and once you you either you are over gross or the temp setting is wrong and you wait some more. Only go here if your company is willing to deposit 10 hours detention into your checking account before you arrive. Only good thing....no washout needed they do it. I will never be back.
Decent place for drop and hooks. Would be nice if some of these drivers learned how to drop trailers in the center row. Would give more stars but drop lot is poorly maintained, always debris of some type to watch for, security procedures could be different but are currently inefficient.
Been waiting over 30 hours to pick up a trailer that was supposed to be pre loaded 23 hours ago, Im 1300 miles away and it needs to be delivered in 12 hours so...Chubby female security gaurd was extremely rude and disrespectful, no help whatsoever and even if your trailer is sparkling clean you have to pay over 50 dollars to get it washed out again, which took over 45 minutesNo parking here either, youll have to find somewhere else to go, avoid this place if you can!Update: No directions whatsoever, was given a piece of paper with the trailer number and sent on a scavenger hunt to find it, thanks!
This place is terrible. Always wait until the last minute to complete loads. Guard shack is useless. Cant communicate with slaughter house. Absolutely nothing to do in the immediate area. Terrible phone reception for T-Mobile and att. Trailer lot is always full. Never a place to actually park your trailer. Very disfunctial. Let me be clear. Guards are utterly useless.
Open trailer doors, and pull into the wash bay, check in with the wash guys before the shipping office. Theyll take your load number and phone number. Probably will have you drop the empty trailer any row but the left one (tandems back).Only bobtail parking on the white lane street. 0.5 miles away from shipper you can park with a trailer overnight at Beardstown Truck Wash in the gravel lot closest to the intersection. 1 mile away from the shipper Walmart parking for bobtails, I heard they dont like trailers there, but I usually see tractor/trailers there overnighting.Take a nap, its never a quick drop and hook here, though sometimes you can get called back 2-4 hours later if youre lucky.Just recently Sprint works here with data coverage, nice 4G Verizon service in area.Beardstown Truck Wash [open overnight] has a scale you can slide your credit card or cash right on the scale to get your weights. Go into the first door at their wash building, its a lounge area. You can buy a 12 inch pizza from their fridge and heat it up right there, or order from local food places.
For drop N Hook turn right onto Pine Ln then left to truck entrance. Dont stop at guard go past scale to your left is the washout. Slide tandems & back in. Washout guy will give a slip where you then walk up the stairs to check in with shipping. Now go to security down stairs to get BOL info & loaded trailer number then drop empty in middle row or right row along street. Hook up, stop on scale to get gross, They do not give you axle weights. Guard will walk to you to check seal, temp and give you the bills.
I would rather shove RAZOR wire up my b?*@; than come back here. Third time being here, first time got here early, wash out and drop the trailer left at 1200 pm for 2100 appt. Needed 8 or 10 hour break anyways. 2100 comes around didnt know you checked in yet.You have so so trlr in your lot. Yes I dropped it.Oh its not load yet. Oh please call when its done. 1300 next Im getting yelled at by dispatcher for not picking it up at 0600 when the load got done. Down and dirty,, security may or may not call you when your load is done. So stay on them. And now overwieght. With 44955 in the box
2nd time here. 1st time was 400 pounds over even though they told me I was fine. 2nd time load wont be ready for at least 9 hours past my appt. What a waste of time. Well now here 3rd time. Loads are never ready. They tell you its started but its never anywhere near ready for at least 8 hours.well here I am again. Been here for 24 hours. Supposed to be ready 0700- 1530. Well it’s 4 hours past 1530 and I’ve slept so much I feel like a slug. Will end up driving all night unless the sun comes up first. Make sure you bring food and a good book because there’s no tv reception
I gave them 1 star because there wasnt an option to give them 0 stars. D0 NOT GO THERE! I will not go there again!!!!! It took 24 hrs to get loaded. The drop lot is terrible! A driver hit a trailer while I was there. The yard dogs are very rude. They will not help you. And there is no cell phone service for Verizon. It was awful!
Its your typical meat plant. Upon entry go around to the wash pit and slide your tandems, open your doors and back in. Walk up the ramp and get a wash slip with ur pu info, take that thru the door to check in. Take the slip of paper back to the washout guy and hell tell you where to drop it trlr. Wal-Mart is only 1.5 mi away so I bobtailed there, they will call you when your load is ready. Verizon in west central Illinois has horrible internet service, I has no issues with calls there, but almost 0 internet.4 stars because Wal-Mart is close by, otherwise 2 stars for the big holes, and it being basically a hog lot.
Sat at this place for 20 hours. Arrived wednesday at 8/31/16 at 4:00pm and now it is Thursday 11:37am central standard time. When I came here Wednesday afternoon the lady at the guard area said my load was not ready and she would give me a call by Wednesday night and to go park at the nearby Walmart which is what I did. So Wednesday night came i checked my messages on my cell phone and no phone call from JBS/CARGILL. Got up Thursday morning went over to the plant and still my load was not ready. Dont come to this place. It is not organized and your time will be wasted waiting for your load. I will put this place on my list not to come back here ever again.
HORRIBLE!! Security lazy and inefficient at their part of the process, also major attitude when asked any questions. As for the plant lot is all mud and not very organized. Currently waiting 14 hours for a load and its still not ready which will now make the load late! A complete joke smh
By far the worst Cargill in the country! There check in procedures are preposterous! Most cargills you can get in and out of quickly but the way they have this setup slows everything down. Extremely poor attitudes from the guard shack personnel! No way to axel out after you pick up and the nearest scale is about 40 miles away in any direction so if your axle weights are wrong you have to drive all the way back to the plant to get it fixed! So roughly 2 hours log time is wasted if your weight is off! Nothing to do in beardstown so bring entertainment or you will die of boredom!
Not too bad for a meat plant. My load is almost always ready when I get there. The dusty or muddy lot is awful, but again, it is a meat plant. The worst thing about coming to Beardstown is the fact that Verizon service is non-existent, which is something that the plant has nothing to do with.
This place is a joke! First the check in process takes 2+ hours. You HAVE to use THEIR washout, which depending on the company you work for runs $30-$50. If you run teams, your partner is required to get out of the truck, even if off duty and sleeping. NEVER AGAIN!!!!
For any drivers picking up or whatever here if u have the time and are bobtailing try the River Port Restaurant and bar. They have fair prices and bobtail parking in gravel lot around back they are a small family that runs the place. The food is to die for. 218 W main, Beardstown, IL 62618 . Or even try their beardstown laundromat 24hrs and great prices. Its called super clean laundromat. About 2 miles from jbs. Make it your consolation prize for having to wait to pick up at JBS.
Bring food and patience if you come here..youll need it..Checked in/Dropped trailer 11/08/16 at 12:15 PMAt 8PM I went to ask for an update and I got a magnificent answer: We didnt even know you are here..we will load you as soon as possible..Trailer loaded 11/09/16 at 6AM..
If I could give them negative stars I would was told to pickup my load asap by broker I get there at 10:30 am to check in from my last load they wash out and inspect my TRL and told to wait they dont take my TRL back to get loaded till 3 pm then I wait some more all while losing hrs on my stupid e log then te they tell me at 7pm to come inside to the guard shack and they tell me they cant load my TRL because I have a hole in the rooff it I used the same TRL all week long no problem and there is no hole this place has a hole in there head thats where the hole is this place is a joke😤😤🙅🙅

2021-08-19This kind of places should only be doing drop and hooks. Dropping a trailer for 6-12 even more hours if your are an OO dose not make sense here.I dropped mine around 10am and luckily my broker did tell me it will be ready by 5pm and so it did. But still 7h unless your are doing a split or full on 10 reset is just crazy.Do not wash out tour trailer, they will do it for you and if your broker dose not have an account with them they will charge you.So don’t prewash anywhere else, they don’t care even if you show them a receipt. As soon as you arrive pass the scale in the middle and turn hard left before the plant gate. Slide your tandems, open the door and check with the “wash”guys. After that they will tell you what to do next.At pickup, you go to the scale house, check with security and go get your trailer. Then park it on a scale and go inside again.Their scale is capable of giving you each axle separately but they don’t tell you. My guess is lots of times is bad. You can scale it just next door at the truck washout place $10 CC/cash. You do that when you drive on the scale, it’s all automatic. If you get overweight, prepare yourself for another reset cuz it will take them good number of hours before they fix what they massed up in the first place. Also, even if you leave the loading instructions on the trailer they will ignore it.Not to mention they don’t practice using load locks at all so your load my shift. And if you ask them to put the load locks they will cost you another few hours because you need to wait until they print new bills and put new seal.Overall, AVOID AVOID AVOID unless your broker is paying you 2.5 times the average market rate at the time. Otherwise you loose big, time is money don’t let them cheat you.Pictures taken from the vent, clearly they don’t have imagination nor consideration about safety.

2022-05-292nd biggest s?!t hole I’ve ever been too. Absolutely no Verizon service no truck stop only a Walmart to park other than Jbs’s stinking a$$ frontage rd. 38 hrs to get loaded. I agree should be a drop and hook only. No live loads. Couple of the security ladies were rude as hell

2022-07-03The load was supposed to be ready when I got there. It took 8 hours before I was able to leave. It messed up my clock. Dont do business with these people. Youll regret it.

2022-03-04Jacked up yard! Pot holes big enough to loose a Volkswagen. No parking on property. To wait on your load parking on the street or at Walmart. Scale at Beardstown Truck Wash. BTW didnt allow reefer parking in the past - no idea if they do now or not.

2022-06-08When you enter there will be a line of trucks waiting for a wash out, get in line for the wash out. Very efficient place, a bit of a tight place but easy.

2022-02-09Dont come here- They dont process the order until you arrive- FYI the process takes about 24 hours and then they put you on a door- So total process id about 30-36 hours to load- Read the other reviews. we should have. Unless you need a break. Live loading is not good for the OO

2022-02-10They scheduled drop trailer at 23:59 and PU this loaded trailer at 16:00 same day with delivery 01:00 next day in 250 miles mostly highway route. Trailer was loaded at 22:00 and BOLs was ready at 22:30. Going to be late to delivery for 2.5 hrs after app time. Really stupid shipper!!! Charge brokers double or triple rate to get their load!!!

2022-06-01To to slow if you have a couple of days extra pick up their load because they arent going to load your trailer before 48 hours dont get load from this location
