Jasons Deli in other cities:
The chicken salad sandwich is to die for! The chicken salad has little pieces of pineapple mixed in with it which makes it awesome and its on a flaky croissant which is out of this world! We love the restaurant and the fact that they do have a lot of organic ingredients in much of what they serve. It is outstanding food at a very fair price.
Jason‘s deli was the only sandwich shop Open until 10 PM, so I called to make sure they’d be open, was told they would be open until 10. So drove 10 miles in the rain got there at 9:40, door was open so I scanned menu and decided what I wanted then the manager turned me away saying they were closed. I’ll never go to a Jason’s deli again!
They have gluten free bread so I can have an amsome sandwich. I do the build your own opinion. Its was soo good. They also have many sandwich options and a salad bar. There is free ice cream with any order. Gotta love free ice cream! The staff is always very helpful too. If you havent been there check them out.
Everyone is friendly every time I go there. I usually get the salad bar. Yes I do see people complaining about only one trip but I always stack that salad on the plate so Im too full for a second trip so it works for me. Place is always clean and staff always do their best to help in any way they can. Thanks for having the best $10.00 salad bar in Rockford!!
Menu board is difficult to understand. Ordered salad bar. Didnt overload it. I should have, after purchase, after initial salad bar. Bowls for ice cream. I dont believe the customer should be chasing staff to get obvious items such as ice cream bowl. Ye they had cones, but had chocolate syrup which doesnt work I a cone. The prices were high for a self service restaurant.
The baked potatoes were gigormous!!!! I got a Baked potato with cheese, sour cream and chives. It was enough for a whole meal. I also ordered a Reuben Sandwich minus sauerkraut. It had a lot of meat and the rye bread was fabulous. The food was made in a rapid time as I had to hurry to work after picking it up. It was enough for two meals!
I have been coming to Jasons Deli since they opened in 2017. You used to need a box before you left. The meat to the bread ratio is unbelievable outrageous now. They used to top their meat 3 times what they use today. All the restaurants are struggling and they really should not cut this corner--or the meat to be precise! This is the second time Im letting them know of this. The more this keeps happening the less Ill consider coming here, unfortunately. Shame that its not what it used to be..
I have been twice in the past couple of weeks and had the same sandwich. The quarter muffeletta special. It is phenomenal! The bread is fresh and warm, toasted perfectly. I had turkey as the meat and then soup and chips for a side. I was in heaven with that sandwich though.
All in all was okay. Got the beef with aujus, mozzarella was tasty af, beef was good bit on the cold side same with the aujus. The gals for customers service were great so bonus points there. Place was super effin clean. I might stop in again and try something else... Maybe. The beef dip was around $11.50 w tax. .
Our family likes coming here because they have plenty of options. Our daughter loves their tomato soup and my husband likes the salad bar & garlic bread/croutons. I ordered the Texas potato and was disappointed that what they call “brisket” is actually ground beef that is very similar to sloppy joes. Had I known this, I may have chose a different potato. The potato was huge! Enough for 2-3 people.
Never eaten at this restaurant before. They had a salad bar open which was supposed to be single service but observed an older woman go back repeatedly. Not sure if this is a good idea with COVID pandemic. The restaurant was open for indoor seating and was set up to socially distance. The food was okay but portions are on the small side considering the cost and availability of other nearby restaurants. Employees were friendly and quick.
We live in Woodstock and I called Before we came to clarify that the salad bar was open because we just wanted salad. They told me it was. After a 45 minute drive, we arrive to discover that there is now a one time salad bar due to covid. I explained That I don’t like my food to touch on the same plate, so I would only get a few things per plate. Which is why I like Salad bars in the first place! So I asked If I could Have an extra plate. They told me no and that I would have to pay for an entire new meal. I even asked for a few small plates instead of one large plate. They said no. This cashier was incredibly rude. They said the issue was due to covid so people aren’t going up more than once, but if I paid for more plates, I would still be going up more than once. Covid doesn’t care for how many plates I paid for. The same cashier took a cup from another customer after the customer touched it and put it right back in the clean cup stack. 🙄 the one trip salad bar rule will loose a lot of customers. My family included. I dont Want my potato salad to touch my apples or whatever. It’s not due to covid. It’s for profit.
Jasons Deli was awesome! I ordered lunch for a group at work. The choices were great. I settled on the chicken quesadilla lunch. It came with chips and toppings and even brownies for dessert. The chunks of chicken were big and tender. All the fixings were fresh!! It was a huge hit with everyone. Definitely going to order again. Maybe next time we will go for the baked potato bar!!!
I have gone to Jasons Deli a few times now. This was my first time trying their salad bar. It had a nice selection, but I would say its missing some protein! You can order a chicken breast on the side (but it was SO pricey!!). I expected some lunch meat or something other than egg to get my protein in but was slightly disappointed. Their soups and sandwiches are pretty good. You get complementary soft serve with your meal. The restaurant is usually clean with helpful staff. Overall, positive experience every time I have visited!
Best sandwiches in Rockford. Great selection. Great salad bar. Free ice cream with purchase. Was not disappointed! If had to complain about anything it would be that they didnt have French or western dressing. But they had plenty of other types. Best not the best kind..
Just left there from lunch. Beautiful place, the guy at the counter was told that we had never been there before and didnt bother explaining ANYTHING. HOWEVER, after we chose a table and sat with our food (once we figured out where to find plates), this lovely server stopped and was so warm and kind and explained everything in thorough detail. Her name is Alexis and she was just FANTASTIC. She even went and comped us salmon for our entrees because she wanted to better our experience. LOVE this place and THANK YOU VERY MUCH MISS ALEXIS! (I hope I spelled that right) Food was delicious, restaurant was clean, the service was fantastic (for the most part) We will absolutely be back soon.EDIT: They even had my FAVORITE tea!! NO ONE EVER HAS IT!! Such a pleasant surprise!
I love this place! Favorite lunch spot for sure. Way better than Panera and a hell of a lot cheaper too. You get tasty food and great portion sizes. The baked potatoes are massive so I highly recommending bringing someone to share it with if you want one. Casual feel with fast service and free soft serve ice cream too :)
Good variety of food, from sandwiches to soup to pasta to baked potatoes to a salad bar. Sandwiches were generous and fresh. My cup of seafood gumbo was thick with plenty of seafood. And they have free self-serve ice cream! Its not the fastest place to have lunch, but it was busy and seemed efficient. The staff was friendly. Very good first experience, and we will be back.
This isn’t just any chain restaurant!! Service was fantastic the food was fresh and delicious. Wide menu selections and a clean and fresh environment. We had a school fundraiser and another school event the employees made it super easy to get our food and still attend our other event. Our order was exactly as we asked for and we are definitely fans of the price for a quality meal. I’m sure we will visit again.
Great food and quick service. Deli sandwiches are loaded with meat. Free ice cream and very reasonable prices. Friendly staff and always clean. Would have rated 5 stars, but the pager thats supposed to vibrate never did. Luckily I spotted what looked like our food at the pick up counter, and I was right. Kid at the counter said they gave me the wrong pager.
We visit Jasons Deli more than any other restaurant. The best salad bar around with many organic items. The best sandwiches around too. The New York Yankee, a combination of corned beef and pastrami is one of the best Ive ever had, and I would suggest having it with horseradish or thousand island dressings. No MSG and doesnt seem to be high in nitrates either. Available in regular or large sizes. The muffaletta is enough for 2, maybe 3 meals. Of course ice cream is free with any purchase. Excellent giant baked potatoes, and the best soups in town too. The natural berry sports drink and iced teas, including an organic one, are the best choices for drinks, over the fountain pop. Oh, and all in a great atmosphere too. I just cant say enough about this restaurant. Jasons Deli is one of the best choices for lunch or supper in the country, definitely in Rockford.
I love this place. You can eat as healthy as you want. Great soups, sandwiches and a salad bar with a wide variety of options and muffins. Top it off with free soft serve to end your meal. It may seem more expensive than fast food, but the quality of what they serve is worth it.
Good food for people whove had way too much holiday celebration food and havent seen a vegetable in over a week. This is the place to go for healthy food that normal people would actually want to eat. If you are watching your weight but still enjoy eating I would really recommend this place.
Always somewhat surprised that the food is so expensive here, because it seems like a fast food type of joint. But the food is quality, and the place is clean. You get to see them making the food as the kitchen area faces the dining area, and thats a nice transparent way to see how your meal is being prepared. The salad bar is very large and always looks well kept.Afterward, everyone gets ice cream from the self serve machine. Just vanilla and chocolate, with choice of cake cone or small cup, but its a nice way to end the meal. Ive had several different things here, and theyre all pretty good. I can recommend the chicken salad sandwich, which comes on a croissant and is always good. Baked potatoes are HUGE and are apparently a mashup of multiple potatoes, that are roughly the size of a small football.
Seems expensive at first, however, with your meal, you can get their iced tea (which is amazing!!!) muffins, and dessert is free with soft serve ice cream. Also, the free dessert isnt just limited to just kids meals like it is at some places (Im talking about you, culvers). Overall, the food is great tasting, and a great value.
Delicious food and tons of vegan and healthy options! The salad bar is beautiful, and everyone gets access to a small cornbread, crostini, and crackers bar with olive oil and other toppings. The best part is that all meals come with free, unlimited soft serve ice cream! My family had a great time here.
Beyond delicious! I was skeptical at first, I mean you had one sandwich then youve had them all. right? Not! Im from Chicago and Ive been craving a simple corned beef sandwich on rye with mustard and pickle, being new to the Rockford area its hard to find good food but Jasons deli cured the craving I was looking for. Also to add my fiance got the Ruben sandwich which I tried as well and it was just as good as my corned beef! Yes! 😋
I must begin by saying that we have only had the salad bar at Jasons Deli. We have yet to expand our selection into the many sandwiches and soups they have to offer. The salad bar is great for the kids and a reasonable price for all. They maintain and stock the salad bar very frequently.
Tonight the Winnebago County Association of Legal Administrative Professionals had our monthly meeting and for the first time we had Jasons Deli boxed lunches. What an excellent experience. Starting with the delivery driver...I think his name was Arthur, what a nice man. He was helpful, nice, personable and unbelievably patient as he had to wait for his payment. The food was there early.....and delivered with a smile. Will definitely be using Jasons deli in the future. We had 28 people at the meeting. Every box lunch was labeled with each persons name and the food was fantastic. Every person liked their selection. Good Job Jasons Deli!!
Why not just go to panera, they have better dishes with more attention to flavor and seasoning. Its okay, but they have messy tables, expensive dishes and when I ordered mac and cheese it looked and tasted like craft. I also them microwaving mac and cheese before plating. (Panera is just across the street just saying)
What a wonderful new experience! first time weve eaten here. came in once for a gift certificate for someones bday gift n decided wed like to try this sometime! food waz great. sooo much for 2 of us for under $20. includes free ice cream for everyone and cute lil corn muffins n gingerbread muffins as well as pkts of grahams if u like them w/ your dessert. salad bar was beautifully fresh foods. someone was clearing tables constantly but not wiping them...only flaw i saw, left some unusable. this was fun!
The staff at Jasons Deli has really taken an awful turn. I keep going back because the food is good but I feel disrespected just about everytime Im there. The only time Im happy to talk with the staff is with the crew, never the managers. Its unfortunate that their salmon is so good, I would go elsewhere.
Really tasty sandwich. HUGE potatoes! Ate the potato in 3 sittings. Bread got a little soggy on the sandwich. Ill try it again. My sister ordered a sweet potato, which they waited until everyone else had their meals to tell her it will be 25 minutes for sweet potatoes. No appology, did you want to wait for them or just have a regular potato?
This place is trash. I know first hand from being an employee that they do not always use the freshest ingredients. Half the time you cant understand the staff because most dont speak English so orders get messed up and mixed up. They use food thats fallen on the floor and just rinse it off and say its safe. Do not eat here if you care about your health and getting quality food. The health departmenth has been called several times due to things that are supposed to be fixed and have continued to go unfixed. Go to Panera bread if you want a great soup and sandwich lunch.
Me and my family went there sunday our first time going thought we try it out orded our food when we got home to eat opened our food and found mold on the food ill never step a foot back in this place again if i could give a no star i would im letting everyone i kno not to eat here i dont kno how they still in business imma report this to the health department and BBB who ever reads this place dont eat there
Well the food was ok, but they were really grabby with it, they took half of my sandwich without offering a box or even asking if i was finished with it.Basically they had me pay for a sandwich i couldnt even finish cause they decided it was trash, as i was grabbing my salad.I feel like my money was wasted and im going to think twice before coming here ever again.
Bland food at meh prices. Take your spice-adverse grandparents here for a mediocre meal of boring deli-influenced sandwiches and soups priced average-to high: think Panera with a salad bar, and an equal level of hipness. Bonus-free soft serve iced cream and free spiced muffins (if you like a slight bit of flavor with your otherwise bland food).

2021-10-08I would have given five stars but my wifes dish was mostly pasta with little zucchini and artichoke. She was hoping for more vegetables. The environment was clean. Food is always good as Jasons Deli is health conscious with lots of organic and non GMO options. However, some of the broccoli was a little black on some stocks in the salad bar.

2022-06-21One of the few salad bars still around and it always seems fresh and well stocked. Staff is always friendly and service is quick and sandwiches are great and generously stuffed with the ingredients. Being able to have the complimentary soft serve ice cream cone you fix yourself is a fun perk nobody else has, though lately it is a little too soft so that you cannot fill your cone very high and it gets drippy too fast. But, hey, its free. They never seem to have much of a line to order so we go there sometimes during prime dinner time if we dont have time to wait.

2022-02-22I went in for the first time, for my mom and boyfriend. I had no idea what I wanted. Justin, was so friendly, read me the menu, offered me suggestions. But thats not the best part. Ive had quite a few jobs, many of which trained me poorly. Im going to assume Justin was training a new team member, and me being me, I was listening in. He is literally so patient and informative, and customer oriented. As he was explaining how things are done in the restaurant he made sure to explain how important it was to make customers feel welcome. Maybe I shouldnt have been nosy but I will definitely be returning!

2022-07-04Very good food. I always get the salad bar though. They give you a good sized plate so if you dont put enough on it thats kinda on you. I always fill that plate up though and walk out of there full and happy. Even if I have a little room left I can get an ice cream cone to top me off lol. Jasons deli is great!

2022-04-09There hasnt really been anything from here that I havent liked. But the mutant baked potatoes have got to be my favorite thing. If you decide to order one, you better make sure you can handle it, because them boys are the size of a newborn child. Where the heck do they come from?! 😆

2021-05-27I was excited to have the salad bar. I knew they give everyone clean gloves to use when making their salad which was reassuring. However I noticed that the employee working the salad bar was not using sanitary procedures. She would take dirty plates from tables back to the bus area and scrape food off them. Then with the same gloves she had been wearing, go back to the salad bar and pick stray vegetable pieces out of the salad bar bowls. This would be like picking a stray piece of lettuce out of the cauliflower, or picking a stray olive out of the shredded cheese, etc.. She also would bus tables them go behind the counter and fix peoples food with the same dirty gloves.I talked to the manager about this and she said she would speak to her. At this point I would have been happy knowing that the situation had been addressed. However when I went up to the counter to get a cup and spoon for ice cream she refused to serve me. The gloved employee I was referring to earlier was standing behind the counter about 4 feet away from me. Rather than helping me, she turned away from me and walked all the way down by the register and talked to another employee. I saw her pointing at me during this conversation so I know she was probably telling him about what happened earlier. Then the gentleman came down and have me my ice cream cup and spoon. It was very easy. No reason to take an attitude. It was this part that really upset me.

2022-06-23Always delicious. A little on the pricey side..imo.. but you DO get free ice cream sooo theres that. On Fathers Day we attempted to go to Marys Market only to find that it would be an HOUR WAIT for food so we went to Jasons Deli and went right through the line and enjoyed ourselves quickly& thoroughly.Cookies were $2... what?? But the free ice cream! So it was a win for me.

2019-04-28We loved Jasons Deli because the menu had a wide variety, dessert was free, service was fast and friendly and the food was great. Hours later I felt filled so this will be a recommended place for my family and friends. We look forward to returning.
