Actually the worst place in town for any repair on electronic devices. They use terrible quality parts that will stop working after the warranty period. They also ask that you review them 5 star before any repair is done for a free screen protector. This is why they have so many reviews. Tyler the manager is also terrible. Only cares about money and won’t work with the customer in any way. Will never be back. You should not come here either, unless you like being dissatisfied. Overpriced. Cheap parts. Terrible management. Short warranty’s that expire just as parts go bad. Fake reviews made before customer’s experience how the business actually runs. PLEASE go to someone that cares about you and your device. Such as Mister Battery (3miles from this place), Micropower, Hyperion, or BLH Computers. All are honest and care about you and their work.
I went in less than an hour before closing time on a Saturday to have my iPhone screen fixed and Ethan was amazing! He was very professional and even stayed after hours to make sure that my phone was fixed. The customer service was impeccable and iMechanic exceeded my expectations. If I ever need their services again, I wouldn’t hesitate to go back. I will also be referring my family and friends.
They broke my ear piece. I no longer have face id. Told me they could trade my phone in for another one but i have to pay an extra $550 after i already paid $227. And can only get $25 back. Went to dropped mobile. And found out it was an $80 screen. Dropped mobile had to literally replace the screen. Also they broke the back of my of my phone. Have before and after photos. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THESE PEOPLE THEY ARE JUNK!!!!
New screen and tempered glass overlay on my iPhone 6S+. iMechanic owes much to Ethan, who is a super-nice young man, and appears to be running the whole show. Prices are reasonable, repairs are speedy. What more could you ask?UPDATE: During the ongoing pandemic, their turnover of good workers has fallen flat. I took an iPad in for a new battery, it came back with ”fingerprint lights” on the screen, where the tech struggled to get it back together. I took it back, and they fixed that, but now the touchscreen is not working right around all the edges. I brought it up to the tech who said “it’s got lots of problems”, and declined to repair again. It had no problems when brought in for the battery. I won’t go there again for battery repairs, have learned to install on my own. I do a better job.
They ordered the screen for my phone on 9/7 and told me it would arrive in 3-5 business days. I prepaid the $103 for the repair. By 9/21 still no screen and I requested a refund which they told me it would take 3 business days. Here it is 9/26 and no refund! Fortunately, American Express was really helpful and I purchased a refurb phone for virtually the same price and its already been delivered.
They do a great job. The apple service center estimated close to 3/4th new phone cost for multi touch issue whereas these guys fixed it for way less than Apples- just less than 1/4th of Apples estimation. These guys have a quicker turn around time and very honest. I recommend.
I purchased a used computer that seemed to be getting hot when it ran for a short time. It was older so I was sure there may be a repair that was beyond my ability. They quoted a good price to clean it and said it would be ready in an hour and a half. Since I live about 45 minutes from the location, I decided to wait around in town. When I arrived to pick it up they told me it hadn’t been started yet due to the computer before it taking longer than anticipated. I understand this but felt a call would have been helpful. They said they didn’t usually call unless there was a problem (like it wouldn’t be ready when expected??). Anyway, they said give them another two hours. I was already invested and again decided to wait in town. When I came back after 2 1/2 hours, they said they had cleaned it but it was still running hot. They suggested they could put new thermal paste in it and that should solve the problem. (Wouldn’t this have been one of those times when they might call the customer?). It could be ready by the end of the day (four hours later or so). They said there would be no additional charge (either they were being very helpful or they had not actually opened it up yet... I’m a little suspicious at this point but giving the benefit of doubt). I agreed to have him add thermal paste since that’s why I brought it here. I was sure it needed at least a tune up. He said he would call me when it was done. I decided to go home this time. He never called. The next day, I called them two hours after they opened to see if it was ready. They said it was. I came to pick it up. They gave it to me (a different person than the day before) and offered no findings or status update for the service they had completed. They receipt said only “labor” and the charge agreed on the previous day.I got it home and it’s still running hot. Now, perhaps the thermal paste wasn’t enough. Wouldn’t that have been a time for a call? Wouldn’t there have been an explanation about what did and didn’t work? Did I pay for nothing?I gave two stars because I’m still giving the benefit of doubt that they actually did open it twice and clean and apply thermal paste. All of that for the price was worth while. But their communication is horrible. Their customer service was definitely lacking and I am now in search of a repair service that might actually fix the problem.
Dropped a phone off, for repair, over 2 weeks ago. Was supposed to be ready 4-5 days later. They dont answer their phone. Stopped by the shop. They had sign posted closed for a week. Now telling us phone is in the mail. Will see. Theyve already charged us for the service without yet providing a service. Wouldnt recommend. 416-Update which I promised Tyler, district manager, 3xs this week we have been told phone was in the mail. Yesterday he promised it went UPS overnight delivery to arrive today. 5 pm and still no phone. Still dont recommend them. 4/19-after 23 days phone was finally returned.
I brought my I phone in about 10:30 AM. After a review and a few questions they told me it would take about 30 minutes or less. OK by me,. I had one erran to take care of and when I returned a little after 11, the phone was finished and as good as new, if not better, since they did do an upgrade to the operating system.
I have several electronics throughout my household. Ethan has fixed all the devices that I’ve brought in throughout the past several months. However, I went in one day to fix my phone screen, and Ethan wasn’t working. I was told it would be several HOURS to fix! This would never fly if Ethan was still there.
IMechanic is awesome! Richard helped me with a problem I had been having with my laptop for months that Geek Squad and several of my tech buddies couldn’t figure out! My girlfriend has Ethan replace the battery and camera in her iPhone and it works flawlessly! Great work guys! Thanks a bunch!
I have taken iPhones of all generations, iPads and an apple watch to get screens fixed and the folks at iMechanic on Wabash are always spot on. No taking the device back because of bad parts because they use good parts to start with. Always friendly and courteous. I have had mulitple issues with the staff that was there previous. The old management seemed very sketchy and I only left my device because it was the only option for me.. But this new staff I have talked to recently after breaking my phone again was very polite and super helpful. They use a robot up front to keep the employees and us as customers safe and still helped! I recommend this place 100%.
I had great service there. Bill was very friendly and worked to solve my problem. Had a really bad experience with their liquid glass vendor, Cellhelmet, and he give me a discount on glass repair even though imechanic was not responsible for Cellhelmet’s poor customer service. Would recommend iMechanic based on their quick service and good customer service.
Do not take your device to this place!!!!! They are not an authorized Apple repair. Since they are not authorized by Apple to repair your device they are completely incompetent to fix it. They will not stand by there work. Took my Apple iPad to have batterie replaced and they returned it to me with a broken Motherboard. Very unprofessional staff and very rude they didnt even let me speak to a manager.
We found the staff at the store to be very friendly professional knowledgeable and helpful they were able to answer our questions and solve our problems and we were done in 30 minutes what a great service. Ethan was very professional and very helpful as was the other information technology specialist.
Hopefully the in-store experience will be better. Used their live chat option at 9:30pm Thursday. The store was closed, but the live chat said it was operational, that I was #1 in line and that someone would be with me in six minutes. Waited 12 minutes, then gave up. Not good to advertise what you cant provide.
IMechanic is a SOLID and honest company. I had a VERY positive experience with a technician named Richard/Dick, who is very knowledgeable and even enthusiastic about his trade and products.He is honest, hardworking, and greeted me everytime with a big smile! This place is a complete scam. They have had my boyfriends phone for months and the screen still isnt fixed. Last time he was in there they said they shipped it to Indiana without even asking him. Every time he calls them they initially say they have no record of his phone. We still dont know when he will get his phone back.
Exceptional service, amazingly knowledgeable, professional & efficient. Don’t let the name fool you, they can fix anything electronic, ANYTHING. Any brand any name not jut apple products. Even after the experts say it can’t be fixed, take it to Imechanic, you’ll be surprised by what they CAN do. If I could give 10 stars I would. Incredible business, I would highly recommended it.

2022-05-12Stopped in the other day for a very unique situation and honestly wasnt sure if they would be able to handle it. Not only did CJ take care of me immediately but he had me out of the door in no time. After reading other reviews it does sound like they have quite a bit of things to improve on so dont want to steer anybody wrong but CJ was awesome.

2022-04-27Only leaving one start since there isnt an option for lower, they had my phone for over 20 days for a data retrieval... was told I had to pay 300 for the phone to be fixed when I was originally quoted 95... they tried to tell me everything that needed fixed I didnt want my phone fixed I just wanted a data retrieval... then I was told okay should have the part we need by the end of the week you can pick it up then fast forward to a week later my phone isnt fixed, they dont have it even though I called last Monday to tell them to have it ready for me to pick up on Wednesday whether it was done or not as it is the 27th and only have 3 days to return my phone and I wasnt going to be back to Springfield here it is Wednesday no phone guy at the desk has no clue and just left the front so Im standing in the lobby for the past 15 minutes ..... terrible

2022-08-03I had my phone screen replaced here once, and brought it in again today for a diagnosis. The staff are very friendly and the prices are agreeable. I have recommended friends to go here for repairs and will continue to do so.Edit: I still go to this shop first, even as an android user.

2022-01-20Had an appointment for an I pad screen repair. Get to the place 10 minutes before appointment to a sign at the door. “Out for lunch” until 30 mins past appointment time. I understand people need to eat, but maybe don’t set appointments during that time?!

2021-09-11My phone speaker was not working during calls but everything else about the phone was working fine. We took it to imechanic and they said I needed to keep it there for them to work on. They never called us for pickup like they were supposed to so we had to call to see when it was done. When we went back to pick it up the phone wouldn’t even turn on and they tried saying it was like that the whole time.

2020-09-29Do not bring your phone here!! When you drop off your phone they offer you a free $20 screen protector if you leave a 5 star review BEFORE you pick up your repaired phone. This is the reason for so many five star reviews. Took my wife’s IPhone XS in to have the screen replaced. They replaced it within a half hour. $129. After having it home for an hour the screen was glitching and not usable. We took it back and they replaced the screen free of charge. Two hours later the phone was ghost touching again. We took it back the 3rd time and she was told that her motherboard needed replaced. We obviously declined their service. Immediately took it down the road to locally owned Mister Battery. The tech hooked the screen up to their machine and you could see it was a bad screen that I Mechanic had put on. The tech at Mister Battery replaced it with a new one in 5 minutes and she was on her way. Three weeks later and no issues with “the motherboard”. I Mechanic is a joke. We have the junk screen they sold us and will be trying to get our money back. I will update this review and possibly delete based on their customer service with the return.

2021-01-16Their batteries are extremely cheap, I suggest going somewhere else. they buy super cheap generic batteries have already went through three in 5 months, they offer a one-year warranty. But FYI theyll take your phone for weeks.dont drop off your phone until they actually have your parts there if you do decide to go with them

My screen was cracked and Ethan did a really great job. 10/10 would fix again.Edited to add:I came back to this place because they did such a great job last time, but when I went in the other day they had the longest wait time and horrible customer service. If you need something, just go to Mr. Battery.
