Location, location, location. This hotels greatest offering is that its in Oak Brook, central to lots of dining and shopping. The rooms are abysmal, with little to no saving graces. The bathroom is tiny, and I mean tiny. With barely enough room to sit down on the toilet and close the door. The shower is also small, with dirty grout lines throughout. The furniture in the room is dated and shows lots of signs of wear and tear. Tv and its offerings are dated. Lacks many amenities that lots of hotels are including as a standard these days (i.e. coffee machine in room, microwave in room). The pillows are somehow smaller than standard size. It looks like they bought pillows and cut off about 25 percent of them. The rooms are hot, very hot despite setting the dated air conditioner to its lowest setting. The breakfast is BAD, wet eggs, bland pancakes, and very salty sausages. The coffee is standard for a hotel. Overall, stay somewhere else and enjoy yourself. Dont be fooled by the positive reviews.
Positive: The bed was comfortable. Negative: There was a lot that we didn¿t like the fridge didn¿t work, there was no microwave in the room, only one elevator worked and it took 10-15 minutes to get to our room because of the elevator. We were given the wrong breakfast times so we missed it.
Staff was very friendly, however, during our 2 night stay we smelled weed every time we walked into our hallway and the elevator. Occasionally in our rooms as well. Breakfast was nothing special. There were a few questionable stains on the carpet of our room. During our last night, the fire alarm was tripped 3 times, with firemen coming 2 out of the 3. Would not recommend staying here.
First of all, I rarely leave reviews. I dont have time. If the service wasnt great, I move on with my life and make a note not to return. That being said, my husband and I stayed at this Hyatt for 3 nights. We are attorneys and we travel very often. We almost always stay at Hyatt. We have been at Hyatts from Virginia Beach, Va to San Diego, CA and all stops in between. This is the worst Hyatt we have ever been in. I would say worst hotel but we stayed at an EconoLodge once. There was an ant problem that we didnt discover until we had checked in. Their solution was bug spray. The worst part of our stay is that the room was cooled by an ac unit which did not regulate the temperature. The ac, even when left running nonstop with the fan blowing (per instruction of maintenance) struggled and failed to cool the room. It was muggy and uncomfortably warm. The maintenance guy acknowledged that the room was a little warm. This makes for an uncomfortable stay and sleepless nights. I spoke with the front desk and they seemed indifferent. I spoke with the manager and it became quickly apparent that the staffs callous attitude reflected that of management.Anyhow, this is a shortened version of our unpleasant stay and more than Id like to write but hopefully this will help someone.
The stay was very very disappointing! The elevator took forever for us to get to the floor we needed and one of them was broken and not working. It literally took 15 minutes to get in the elevator. The refrigerator didn’t work in one of our rooms, there was no microwave in the rooms and during check in we were told breakfast was from 7:30-10 and when we went down at 9 most everything was put away and they were cleaning up. The pool looked dirty and was not properly monitored as there were ppl with alcohol, a loud speaker blaring, music, food etc. When I told the lady that our stay was unsatisfactory she didn’t even try to see if she could do anything to help leave on a positive note.
GREAT PLACE TO STAY !!!!Great location, Great Staff, Rooms are very spacious & really nice. TV has a decent selection of channels. Room service is always on point & also friendly & speak english (poquito). LoL 😆There Hotel owner is strickly business and is a VERY GREAT GUY, SUPER NICE and if not too busy will always greet you or say hi to you. They serve breakfast every morning and have a decent selection. They do not have microwaves in rooms which i found to be pretty cool so rooms dont stink up & all of us that stay dont have to deal with other peoples smelly foods being warmed up. But they do have 2 microwaves that they allow you to use anytime down by the breakfast area. They also have a bar that begins to serve @12:00 until 11pm or so as well as Starbucks coffee ☕ by the bar that serves 24/7. I likes that the room we stayed in had kind of a half wall with fog glass that separates the bed side from the sofa side and the TV in between both side that swivels to either side. So when i stayed up late my wife went to sleep i was up watching tv and didnt bother her. LOVE LOVE The rooms. 2 working elevators. Big floor to ceiling windows in the rooms with thick draperies for those people that love to sleep in (wifee). There is also a small fitness room by the nice size indoor pool. There is free wifi and they also do have free to anyone a computer set up with a printer. The parking is very big and additional shared parking by Julios Restaurant. I can say enough about this place oh i know what .....i love it sooo much im staying for 30DAYS !!!
Positive: The complimentary breakfast was great the service was awesome customer services was helpful Negative: The elevator taken at least 10 to minutes to come most of the guests where young and was very noisy also my room got charge for movies that was not authorized by an adult I believed it should have been a pass code to watch movies
Positive: Nothing!!! Negative: The pool was disgusting my kids got sick the next day! Lots of shady people there the pool was packed with all kids under no supervision at all we didn¿t even feel comfortable staying the night left at 10pm will never go there again and was chargedtwic
I hate to say this but we had a very bad experience the night we spent there. First off it took 15 minutes to get checked in. Then close to midnight the fire alarms were set off, that didnt end for at least 30 minutes and lastly and the worst of all, the whole night our floor reeked of marijuana. Breakfast was subpar compared to other Hyatt Place hotels I have stayed at.
Booked this hotel with my family for a trip to the zoo through booking.com . the hotel was paid for in full. when we went to check in they told us our room which was two beds and couch for my husband and three kids, was taken and we had to have another room with one bed and a pull out couch at the same price. then i called to ask for extra pillows because it is five of us they told us that they couldnt give us any because the hotel is booked out. customer service was poor and experience was not good. will never choose this hotel again.
Positive: Only good about this hotel is the breakfast and in door pool . Negative: The house keeping only came once my whole stay and we had to call for the towels. For the price I paid I deserve a little more didnt feel the love this is the second year I stayed here I come in town every year so I can see my family
No cleaning in 7 night stay; one elevator out of service, the other intermittent; water shut down for service; surly staff, especially the breakfast person who not once returned a “good morning” and once shot down a client trying to ask a question; breakfast was poor, and on pancake days there were no sausages to moisten the dry rehydrated eggs. On the other hand, the cost was not too severe, the pillows were comfortable, the shower pressure good and usually warm.
Bedsheets where peed on,sofa mattress had a blood stain on,the room smell musty ,didnt smell clean, breakfast was good, the girls upfront where amazing, except he guy that works there ,seems to have an attitude and rude. They need to hire more housekeeping people ,was told they where shortstaffed.
Positive: Convenient location for our traveling needs. Room & TV were great! Large couch to sit on to watch TV. Also, could swivel TV to watch from bed. Bed & pillows were comfortable. Heating/AC unit was close to the bed, which might be an issue for some. Negative: Bathroom was on the small size. The toilet was located right near the bathroom door, making it impossible to close the door without stepping in to the bathroom and almost in to the shower. One of the elevators was down for repair during our visit.
Hotel needs a bit of work here and there in terms of being updated and cleaned. Definitely avoid breakfast. Went down and checked some of the food and it had a bit of mold on it. Check in took a while as the receptionist was new and they had someone standing behind them who watched instead of helping. I wouldnt mind staying here again but not my top choice
This hotel was great. Its an affordable hotel, but still very clean and updated. The rooms were very spacious and the bed was so comfy. I called ahead of time to get connecting rooms with my friend, and, despite them being super packed, they were able to accommodate us! There isnt microwaves in the rooms, but theres one right down in the lobby. The breakfast had delicious hot options and the pool was open with no restrictions. The fitness room was kept very clean as well. The manager Ruby was super kind and helpful with any questions or concerns we had. Definitely recommend this hotel!
Positive: The Location of the hotel in proximity to restaurants and shopping was great. Negative: The plumbing in the bathroom was not great the water filled up in the tub while I was showering, the pipes made noise at night, and there was other guedt running through the Halls knocking on doors.
1st time visiting but was not our initial choice of hotel. There had been some obvious renovations throughout the entire building. Our countertops, mirror and sinks seem to have been updated but not much else. Did not have adequate toiletries which lead me to believe the room had not been cleaned well. There is breakfast available which was set up and stocked nicely. They also have a bar adjacent to check in but its a bit limited. There should always be a level of professionalism displayed by all staff however there was one young man who missed his training. I also did not care for the $20 deposit that they demand at check-in for just in case you buy a movie or snacks nor the weekend agreement asking us to basically be mature during our stay. Was listed as a 4 star but is a strong 3 but only in a pinch Id visit again. The area the hotel is located in is very lovely
Had an absolute horrific stay ! Booked 3 nights. Flew in to close on my parents condo, so spent very little time at the hotel. On the second it all started. My room was directly across from the fire exit door, so I figured it would be a quiet stay, boy was I wrong a few rooms over there was 4 to 5 younger people and every 5-10 minutes they kept going into the hallway (exit door) to smoke pot and cigarettes, it was so bad my room reeked of it,it was so loud all night long, finally at 3:30 am I had enough, I called down to the front desk and asked if they could do something. The woman told me she knew they were smoking and she couldnt do anything about it,best she could do was more to to a different room! Who wants to pack up at 3:30 am for one? I asked if the hotel allowed smoking? She said no, but proceeded to say oh well nothing she can do. I said thats not right, she then asked how I would handle it,I said I would tell them to leave. She then proceeded to take her mask off and start yelling at me saying she wont do that, shes not going deal with the situation or me any longer all while pointing her finger at me! Then slammed the exit door and walked away, walking right past a make shift ash tray from the guys next door ,ashes all over the floor mind you! I cant believe I was talked to like that! So the next night was fine, wake up Sunday morning walking down the hall ,the house keeper asked if I was checking out,I told her I check out Monday morning, I returned that night to find the bedding a mess and blankets tossed on the couch! Really felt like retaliation, I went down and showed staff and they said oh maybe the maid forgot to finish the room? Like really! After speaking with the assistant GM she assured me they would handle the situation and I would receive a full refund, well she said she spoke to Expedia and approved the refund, after reaching out to Expedia they had no record of speaking to the manager! I had to call 3 times to finally get it refunded! What a nightmare! This hotel use to be a gem, stayed many times before in the past absolute worst stay/experience ever! My wife and I travel the country staying at many hotels, never have been treated so poorly! Absolutely avoid this property at all costs if you can!
My daughter got married and we booked a block of 33 rooms... everything was perfect! They were so very accommodating to our every need. I dealt the whole time in the planning through Covid with Angela she was absolutely AMAZING!! We had a room the next morning for breakfast everything set up and went so perfectly!! Rooms were clean staff was wonderful... Max the manager was so very accommodating and helpful!! All of our guest were completely satisfied and happy!! Highly recommend staying here!!
Positive: Location, price, staff friendly and helpful especially night front desk. Negative: Surprised that unless you specifically request housekeeping to come to the room to take trash, add paper products, make bed (once), or check towels you have no housekeeping. I stayed for 5 nights and had 5 days of trash. Perhaps room check third day?
Stayed at The Fountain Square Hyatt location for several days while in town for work. The hotel and room were exceptionally clean and I had zero issues throughout my stay. Many other reviews complained of dirty rooms or noisy guests but I didnt experience either of those. Bed and couch were very comfortable. The TV was nice and worked well. Also the bathroom and shower were very nice! My only complaint would be there is no microwave in the room, which would be very useful. I will say there is a microwave in the common are for public use but a personal use one in the room itself would be a nice touch. I would definitely stay at this location again.
Positive: Location Negative: Printer used for boarding passes, ect. NOT WORKING Lukewarm water for shower. Finally got it fixed Hotel is in rough condition from last time we stayed. Renovations ongoing???? Continental breakfast left a lot to be desired. Hot food went quickly
Positive: The breakfast consisted of scrambled eggs and sausage or pancakes was ok. Area was clean and coffee was tasty. Negative: Upon entering room it was obvious that it was sprayed with something that smelled clean but overpowering. After a few hours, it was evident that the spray was used to mask pet odor. It got worse when the heater was turned on. There was pet hair on sofa.
Positive: The rooms were exceptionally clean. Things were dusted and vacuumed and the bathroom floor was clean. The hotel staff was very friendly. Negative: Outside the hotel was not very clean. The elevators had sticky floors and the garbage cans outside the entrance doors were overflowing for the entire two days I was there, as were lobby cans. This was not a big deal for me as the room was spotless!
Positive: The staff was very friendly and welcomimg. Negative: Whomever was staying in the room above us kept us awake for the majority of the night. We called the front desk around 1am and they were very helpful and sent someone to the room above us and handled the situation.
Decided to get a few rooms with a friend and our kids, due to us not really traveling and being from Canada. The staff were very friendly. The guests however were a bit “much”. I’m not sure if it was due to spring break beginning. However, the hotel was pretty busy. I appreciated that rooms had to book time slots to use the hotel. My overall experience was good, just wish their breakfast selections were better
Positive: The location Negative: The ketchup on the headboard and carpet. The bathroom door was too big so you can barely close the door while inside it. Hotel very out dated. The breakfast was horrible. Only one elevator worked. The sink outside of the bathroom is not ok
The customer service was poor. No fresh wash cloths in the room. And people on the second floor did not follow the quiet time after 10 p.m. It took then two days to bring clean towels delivered to the room at 9 p.m. I would not recommend anyone to this expensive for nothing hotel. But supposed to be a five star motel.👎👎👎
Unfortunately Hyatt place chicago its not what it used to be. Sadly the level of quality went from 10 to a 3. It feel like I am staying on a motel 6. The quality after aliments they serve for breakfast were very cheap. They use disposable plates, cups and silverware and I can understand. Everyone is pretty much starting all over after the pandemic. But I have stay in different hotel and even though the pandemic was in place they never lost their good quality. A great example of that is a Hilton garden. A hotel at the same level as a Hyatt place, well at least it was years ago. It is sad because this place was one of my favorites. This hotel it has been neglected. I hope they can pick back up or think about a new strategy.
Never again! We’ve been regular customers for 4 years and the Hyatt Place in Lombard has gone down hill! When we were here in Jan. 2021, we entered 3 rooms before we got a clean one! Also had people on our floor smoking pot and our room smelled like smoke. Dining area was dirty and gross, too. Thought we’d give them another chance on May 1st. Patrons were still smoking pot! Strong stench in the halls. Air conditioning didn’t work in our room and they gave us 2 towels and 1 bar of soap for a room that sleeps 5-6 people. Dining area still grows with food spilled everywhere. This place isn’t clean and we don’t feel welcome anymore. Sad!
Love the quality aura of the building. The rooms are pretty old fashioned, but it makes you feel like youre away from the norm. The breakfast buffet was standard, but good. The customer service was the icing on the cake. Employees with actually personality that makes you laugh and feel homely. This is my Oakbrook destination.
I was expecting a nice quiet weekend stay however I got the complete opposite. Guest had their kids running and screaming throughout the hallway with toys everywhere all night, guests were sitting in chairs hanging out in the hallway. I definitely expected more from the Hyatt Place and also as a reward member as well. This particular Hyatt I will stay clear of. Very unpleasant unless you like to listen to a lot of noise and partying all night.
I have stayed here many times when I have come home to visit. My daughter wanted to stay somewhere else this time but I insisted on staying here again. I was sorry I did. We were there for 3 days, no housekeeping, no decent breakfast. I don’t understand why you can’t leave your room so it can be cleaned, after all they clean the rooms when guest leave. Breakfast was yogurt, brown bananas and one hot item. Pancakes or French toast depending on the day. My sister is getting married in August and believe me I won’t be staying here.
When we got there is seemed elegant and well kept. Paid $258, After entering the room, it seemed very spacious and comfortable, then we noticed the stains all over the carpets, sheets, and couches. Then the evening time hit, and all you can hear is kids running through the hallways until around 2am. Despite the no noise from 10pm to 8am signs. The restrooms were ok, the amount of water that leaks out when showering onto the floor is jusy ridiculous. The TV was very old and if youre not on like HBO, the quality was garbage. We got up for breakfast to see what they had, pretty decent selection if you like breakfast foods. Im not a fan, but I didnt factor that into the review. All in all. Hyatt needs to step it up if this is how their services are for the premium price. If I wanted all of this, I could have gone to a motel for $80 a night.2 stars for comfort and spacious rooms. Thats all.
Let me start by saying I have stayed at this hotel before and the visit was never this horrible! The staff that was working when I checked in were overwhelmed but still professional, helpful and courteous at all times. Management should have looked at scheduling and made sure that they had enough people working to accommodate the multitude of people overcrowding the elevators, the swimming pool area and the lobby... CDC guidelines on face masks were not being enforced. Crowd control was not able to be managed. I do understand as a public place that they can only control so much but at what point do you say enough is enough during a time of a global pandemic! There are signs posted for quiet time to start at 10:00 p.m. so do you want to explain to me why I could hear loud music play from outside in the parking lot and Im on the third floor at 11:30 p.m. and children running and screaming in the hallways, young adults acting like they lost their minds running up and down the stairs... WTH I didnt know if I was in a prank skit, the movie animal house or neighbors. The bed was worn on both the left and right side so the middle was raised needless to say we did not get a good nights sleep. Couldnt wait to get home shower and go to bed, we almost left in the middle of the night. I dont know what happened or why individuals staying there felt they were entitled to act like idiots. But what can you expect - If people cant do something as simple as respect not making loud noises to disturb others after a certain time they surely cant comply with wearing a mask or staying 6-ft apart.
Stayed 2 nights for daughter’s birthday. 4 girls, aged 9-11. Upon reservation, I was assured hotel was safe and clean. When arrived, rom was dirty and stuffy, ants crawling up the wall. Replacement was not better and people were partying in the hallway until 3am, night of 5/15. Pool reservations were scarce, pool was dirty. Masks& social distancing weren’t enforced. I felt very unsafe with 4 kids, because of health and social situations that could’ve been resolved by staff. Very disappointing.
Very disappointed in the lack of breakfast and the bar. We switched hotels prior solely based on the drink and food photos that they had posted on hotels.com. When our family went to order drinks, they were nothing like what was pictured. My husband went and got us breakfast several times and asked for more protein. He was simply given one sausage and 2 pancakes slapped in a little cardboard carrier. He had asked for four sausages to help with my protein intake post surgery. There also were not any walkers or wheelchairs available, which was disappointing. The last part that really made this stay not worth the money was the lack of washing machine and dryer on site.
Positive: The staff was very friendly and professional. Negative: Half the floor we were put on was being cleaned, and dried with loud fans, couldnt hear eachother in the hall. Room phone was unplugged, and once reconnected had no dial tone. Fridge on coldest level couldnt keep anything cold after 14 hours.
First off once you get past the lobby the place is dirty. The carpets have not been cleaned or vacuumed in a while. There was only one working elevator and it is slow.Once we got to the 3rd floor, there is no wall paper, and pretty dirty and dark..The room numbers are written on tape stuck masking tape next to the doors.Hoping the room was better, it was also dirty and the pillow cases were stained. After a long drive, we decided just make the best out of it and get some rest. Only to be woken up by people yelling in the hallway.Went by the front desk in the morning, they were running around busy taking care of the breakfast and coffee crowd. Will not be back to this place, definitely not up to the Hyatt quality that have experienced at other locations. More on par with motel 8/days inn..
What an awful experience. I stayed here from May 13-17 2021 and it was a complete mess. The Hyatt is not the same hotel it use to be. Its worn down, filthy and under staffed. The breakfast was disgusting but worse of all was the group of young unsupervised kids that ran up and down the halls. We had to call the front desk several times but nothing ever happened. Will never stay here again.
Positive: Disappointed with lack of service, cleanliness, staff not doing anything about 6-8 kids running and screaming in hallways knocking on other guest doors. Pool not being available due to it being serviced. Elevator not working properly. Negative: Everything never been so disappointed with a hotel in all my 20 years of traveling. Not to mention the lack and response se from hotel management to resolve.
This hotel experience was mediocre from walking in the doors - the front desk is tucked behind a wall, making me think we came in the back or something. All tables and chairs in the lobby are off limits I guess because of COVID, and the lobby and halls are plastered with mask signs - in case you’ve been living in a cave for the last year. The elevators are incredibly slow, and with capacity limits you can expect to wait for at least 5 minutes to get in one. The room seemed nice since there is a wet bar/eating area, but once you see how tiny the bathroom is you will wish there was no kitchenette. Carpets had a number of stains and the windows have some sort of permanent fog. The AC worked well, but it sounded like a freight train. Minimal towels and toiletries provided for the bathroom. Not quite what I was expecting from a Hyatt.
Positive: Location and the type of room Negative: One of the two elevators wasn¿t working, with no indication and getting stuck for five minutes in the only working elevator!!! The hotel staff was apologetic but knew of the problem yet let us use the elevator anyway. Unbelievable!!
Staff were very accommodating and helpful. My room was spotless and very comfortable. Breakfast offered was good- eggs, meat, waffles, yogurt, fruit and much more however I was told it started at 6am but it was not fully set up until 6:30-7pm both mornings I was there. The first night, I called down to the front desk to report that my refrigerator was not working properly and it was replaced within 20 minutes. I was very pleased with the service.
Good amenities for the price. Breakfast was great with a lot of options. The room was spacious. The pool is large and deep enough for adults but shallow enough for my 4 year old. My only complaints are the lack of towels by the pool which lead to wet footprints and slick floors in the lobby and the pool water is a bit chilly for an indoor pool. Overall we enjoyed it, wed recommend it to others, and wed stay here again
I just completed a four-day stay here for my family reunion. From the check in the person was a very accommodating. She managed to get us three out of our four rooms side by side. The rooms were clean and well-stocked. The staff was accommodating each time we ask for something especially clean towels. My little water baby grandchildren definitely enjoy the pool. I just appreciate everyone for being kind and accommodating to me and my huge crowd. Will definitely considering staying here again
The staff here is AMAZING!!! They are kind, professional, and just wonderful!!!! The room was very clean and the beds are super comfortable. Front desk staff deserves the 5 star rating as do the rest of the employees. I would highly recommend. Plus ANYTHING you need is a 5 min drive!!!
Although we are on our first night here, I thought a quick review of staff would be in order. We were taking a short family vacay a short ways from home. It just so happened to be during spring break.Jenn was exceptional at handling the situation and took our needs into account! Thanks for the understanding and the great hospitality.
Id give 1.5 stars if I could. 1 for the location, 0.5 for quick access to communication with the front desk and manager. To start, the hotel put me in a room that was occupied by another guest after checking in Friday night, February 12, 2021. When I asked for compensation, the best they could offer was a free movie or al la carte meal. The second room I was put in had stained carpets, curtains and a bathroom that smelled of smoke. Which I found out was from the guest that stayed the night before had smoked a few blunts. Nothing could get rid of the smell: tried a candle and my friend tried spraying a ton of Fabreeze, but the smell was still there. When I called the front desk about the lack of cleanliness and asked for financial compensation, the front desk clerk asked “Well are the stains fresh, or have they been there a while?” What kind of question is that?? She then spoke with the manager who still said all they could offer was the measly compensation of the free movie or meal. The staff pretty much claimed the reason for this was because I booked the room through Expedia. Therefore there was nothing else they could do. Despite the fact the suite is on THEIR property. One would at least hope that they’d not only properly clean suites between stays, but go the extra mile due to the COVID 19 pandemic. Saturday night, the bath towel I used had a long strand of hair that wasnt mine. Sunday morning, my friend found a dried noodle in our rooms coffee maker. The lack of cleanliness in between guests, overbooking and lack of financial compensation made this stay truly disappointing. I had stayed at the Hyatt in 2008 and remember the hotel being a lot nicer when it came to their suites. Guess the service has gone down the drain since then...will not book again or recommend.
Very professional staff, clean facility. Handicap accessible unit was great. Plenty of outlets to charge phones or other devices. Breakfast was great, the only thing I will say, is that I wish that there was another option for breakfast meat. They only had pork, maybe they can introduce a chicken or a turkey sausage. But overall, I will definitely be back in the future! Check in was a very smooth process, as well as checking out. Adequate parking. Comfortable bed and sofa. Definitely worth the price
My family and I stayed here this past weekend. The hotel is great! Although it was completely full most of the weekend, the staff remained professional, helpful, and kept the hotel clean. The buffet breakfast was large and had a nice variety and theres a microwave to use during the rest of the day. Thanks for a job well done!!!
My husband & I stayed here two nights with our three daughters. Our daughters thought the room was heaven. The hotel was very clean & spacious. We stayed in a double bed suite that had a pull-out couch which was perfect for our family. The common areas were clean & inviting. The amenities were nice & breakfast was bountiful! The staff was very friendly, especially Jen, at the front desk, who gave us tips on traveling the L & visiting downtown. As well as the gentleman (I didnt catch his name) who mixed me a nice, strong drink after a long day of fun with three kids! We would definitely stay again!
This place was great. The hotel was clean and quiet, the staff was very helpful (our fridge didnt work in the room so they swapped it out no problem), and it was easy to access from any major route we took to our destinations. The pool was clean and well maintained and breakfast was tasty each morning. We had a charge on our bill that we didnt make and they took it off no questions asked. We would definitely stay here again.
Everyone was so kind, courteous and professional. The place was super clean, shuttle bus was great and the breakfast was delicious. Everyone was so friendly and we were very comfortable. We had a blast. This is the best hotel i ever stayed in. Thanks to all Hyatt Place staff. All of you make a great team keep up the great work. I wouldnt change a thing. I will definitely be back soon : -)
I am giving a 4 star review because of their pool condition. They have excellent front desk personal - super friendly, time efficient and very customer oriented. The breakfast simple but good with mostly natural and tasty options. The hotels condition is good, the room was in good condition and clean The pool was not swimmable to me. It had very strong chlorine odor at the level that it is hard to breathe and you dont want to get into a water. Definitely need an update
The Hyatt was great! I really liked the room layout. I slept on a pullout bed which was not as bad as a regular pullout. I did not really enjoy the breakfast all that much this morning. It was decent but nothing special. Besides that it is a very nice hotel, good experience. 4/5 stars
The room had a pull out sectional couch bed as well as two normal beds. It also had a seperate minibar style counter with sink, which was a nice plus compared to other hotels Ive stayed in. The TV was very dated, but large, and it had very easy port access to plug in a computer or anything. Room Im general was much bigger than I expected especially for the price bracket. The hotel has a shuttle that will take you anywhere within 5 miles of the hotel, and its very easy to schedule out. The complimentary breakfast is good, with a daily rotating menu which makes it better for long stays. They also have 24/7 food that you can order and pick up at the front desk, but its fairly expensive and I did not try it during my stay.
Nice clean hotel and friendly staff. Our room was a nice size with 2 full beds and a pull out sofa. The bathroom was tiny and you had to basically stand in the bathtub or behind the toilet to shut the door. It was a very busy hotel but the staff did a great job taking care of everyone. Pool was a decent size, could have been bigger. Free breakfast was tasty and they had a lot of options to choose from. Great location with plenty of restraunt options near by or walking distance. I would definitely stay here again.
Worse experience ever planned my son a hotel Birthday/Sleepover I was awoken at 2am from a scream from my younger cousin there is bed bugs biting me I looked and there was several Watch out for this place Hyatt Place 2340 fountain Square Lombard Il room 124 I am sure they will change the sheets and rent the room out later this hotel has traumatized my kids forever do not give the Hyatt Place any business update: at the moment of the bed bug I was bitten several times and caught a infection due to my health issues had to take antibiotics for a while I asked my guest to please check their clothing and home unfortunately it was my boyfriend first time around my children and he so happened to have bed bugs in his pants pockets I was so embarrassed the hotel did pay for my home to be sprayed and I had to really stress that my guest needed their home exterminator also they gave me a hard time and agreed to do mines and my boyfriend I hope they got the hotel together
Hyatt place are always nice hotels. Spacious rooms with a separate sitting area and a fridge in the room is nice. I stayed here on spring break week and the breakfast was completely overwhelmed. I imagine that they are not used to so many families visiting mid week. We ended up having to go out to breakfast, which was disappointing. Otherwise the staff was friendly and helpful.
Sorry, Its so long, but I had to write a review. I stayed at this hotel just to get away for a moment, because Im in the medical field and things have been hectic. I first was greeted by the front desk person Brittney. She seemed nice and accommodated me because I wasnt informed that only dogs were allowed and I had a kitten. During the check-in process, I was told Due to covid, we are not allowed to enter the room for any reason and that I would have to ask for any items I needed. I said Ok thats fine. We go upstairs to the room and there were several things wrong. There were stains on the floor, the bathroom was really tiny, and there was no microwave. I understood, that its a category 1 hotel, but they are still servicing people and certain things should be provided. However, that was not the worst part. On June 4th, 2020, Me and my spouse left the hotel at 2.30pm and I put the do not disturb sign on the outside of the door which I do at every hotel just to be cautious, because the room has no SAFE smh. So we come back around 7.30pm that same night. I grabbed towels, toilet paper etc on the way upstairs. I notice that my sign is on the floor, so I assumed someone was in my room but wasnt sure. So I didnt bother to say anything, because I hate to assume. A couple hours later go past, and my spouse goes to make coffee, in which the only cup in the room was used already, and he goes to wash it out and we noticed someone left a brand new cup on the table that wasnt there when we left. So I go talk to the manager the next day, this is June 5th,2020. He checks the key reader to the door and tells me that we punched in at 12:30pm and 6:32 pm on June 4th,2020. Hes like each card is coded to each room and if we go in there it would show our initials, which it didnt. So I was like ok, I just wanted to make sure. So later on we realized that we werent even there at at the time he showed me. I showed him text messages to prove it and also told him that i could bring proof to him because my card was being charged at the nail shop at the same time at a location that was 30mins away.He tells me well alot of staff have been here for several years. Like I care about that! Why was there a door entry record for a time I was not there, on the day I suspected someone was looking through my room and it was under guest copy when he just told me that other entries have there initials. I think someone made a duplicate key too my room. I just dont understand why someone was in my room when their policy is no entry due to covid, I clearly put the sign on the outside of the door and it was ignored, and to top it off, nothing was complete or restocked. So what were they doing?🤔Even the manager says there is no reasonable explanation for this smh. But I still have to say allegedly🙄 i asked if they could run the cameras, and I was told there were none, and Im not surprised. He told me to check my items and luckily nothing was missing, and I think thats because we hadnt unpacked at all and our items were put away. I called hyatt corporate and they offered me points but said the case would be closed and dismissed if I accepted them, so I denied them because the location needs to be investigated to prevent any theft or their security needs to be updated. I saw some comments while writing this about peoples items been stolen and I believe them! Its definitely something suspicious going on in there! We checked out early. I will not stay there again! Although, Melissa was really nice, thanks too her for being awesome!
Just finished an overnight stay with my family of four. The room was spacious and very clean. The staff more pleasant than I recall in my past visits. Breakfast was dwlcdelicThe issue with this location is many of the guests seem to squeeze too many people in their room which makes it noisy and tends to make the hotel facility seem overwhelmed. By overwhelmed i mean it seems the hallways, elevators, pool and breakfast seem overly crowded. I think the hotel should at least attempt too address this to make it a more comfortable setting for its guests.I would still highly recommend this hotel for any type of visit to the area as it is a great deal for a great facility.
We just found our new place to stay while in town! Price was great, just around $100 a night. The size of the room was way better than anything else out there. It was nice having space to move around and entertain family without it being squished and awkward. The kids loved the pool. Breakfast was phenomenal! I had an appointment today and walked in 10 min after they technically closed down and they were putting stuff away. I was just going to grab a banana, but instead the lady asked what I really wanted and grabbed the oatmeal (the precooked amazing kind, not the packages you have to do yourself) from the kitchen and let me pour myself a bowl. Then she encouraged me to grab some eggs and bacon too. It was so kind! Everyone I spoke to or passed in the halls were so friendly, the front desk staff, the maintenance and housekeeping too. Can’t tell you how much that means to me! We’ve stayed a lot of places when we come in town to visit family, and this one was BY FAR the best!
I wanted to like this place, but some issues were hard to ignore.Pros:spacious roomsFree wifiPoolFriendly workersCons:It was forgiving when one room was dirty but not when the second room had the same stains on the bed. So not very clean.(see pics)Elevator does not function wellPoorly litPrice for the quality and careNot enough towels at poolI am glad we only stayed 1 day, we wont return.
Unfortunately, our stay here was ruined by the lack of noise control at night. Quiet hours are supposed to start around 10 pm, and this was not enforced. Sounds of slamming doors and yelling adults kept my family and I awake most hours of the night. Also, the lack of safety for COVID measures gave us an uneasy feeling.
We had a suite and the rooms are huge. The pullout couch is very comfortable and is big. The room is clean and the view was awesome. Im knocking off a star for the free the breakfast. The breakfast quality wasnt that good, the fruit didnt look fresh, the eggs were salty, there was no bacon which is usually common, and the sausage was super salty.
Update:Stayed again, better than before, bumping up to 5 stars, as the staff are great. Its not the Savoy but Id give it 5 stars for what I expect at the prices they charge.Previous:Clean, well positioned and priced. Staff seem friendly, although one staff member dropped the ball and didnt send the shuttle bus to collect us. Would stay again.
Rooms are very clean. They have plenty of amenities, the price is reasonable and the breakfast is serviceable. They have a pullout bed from the couch and provide pillows and blankets. The staff are helpful, and will sometimes give you things for free that other hotels would charge for. Weve stayed here lots of times over the years, and theres a reason we keep coming back.
Second time here. Not as good of experience as the first time. The registration system was down when trying to check in, and waited at the front desk for over 30 minutes before someone from the front desk was able to speak with us. They were finally able to take us to a room and let us in with a key. We had to come back to the front desk later that night once we got back to get our own key card. Once we got back there were people in the parking lot playing music from their car till after midnight. Breakfast was ok, again, not as good as our first trip.Accommodations were good. The rooms and common areas were clean.
The hotel is nice enough and clean with a good breakfast and adequate parking. However, 1) they lectured us when we checked in about having parties in our room, all while tolerating an entire clan of people and children racing up and down the hall until 11:00 pm 2) the room temp control was poor and didnt maintain a decent temperature until set at 63 degrees. Let me just say that you dont start at 63, so that took a long time to figure out and 3) I just think their coffee is lousy.I would give them a solid 4 stars if issues 1) and 2) hadnt happened. Coffee is important, but forgivable
Had a very good experience staying there. Staffs are very friendly. The only feedback I have is you should increase the breakfast area. Most of the time there was not sufficient space for seating. Otherwise, it is very neat & clean. I particularly liked the location.
The room was very clean & enough for a family of 6. Check in was easy. It was not explained to us that food was available to order at the hotel. However, a continental breakfast that was mostly empty and even hot items were cold, is NOT a breakfast buffet. To be more allergy friendly, please replace the cheap plastic cereal turnstile with the individual boxes, so people can read the labels. They couldnt keep up with coffee, plates, bowls. Employees dont wear uniforms or name tags. They are seriously understaffed. The pool definitely needs BETTER ventilation, over chlorinated pool caused all 4 of my kids to cough & vomit. It is a very small pool that gets very crowded. People eat in there, even though it is posted no food or drink. The towels were not stocked. Super small parking lot.
Customer service was great. Rooms looked nice and were clean. My only gripe was that the ice machine was only on the 3rd and 5th floors and I wasnt told that upon checking in. Nice little fitness area and they also have an indoor pool which I enjoyed. The breakfast was good as well.
The place is clean... Nice size rooms. The food was good. However, there was not any tooth paste and things like mouthwash given in the room. There was soap and hair shampoo and conditioner though. The tv channels were basic, the tv does have hdmi and usb options. The only thing is the covers i wish they were more thicker. Near by I like that they had pf chans and uncle julios near. The rooms also had a shower setting no tub.
The service was absolutely amazing. I was here with my family for three nights, and the room was spacious and well organized for four people. The food was not great, but hey, there was food 24 hours a day. We used the pool and the exercise room as well. The staff, all of them, went out of their way every day to make our stay excellent. I recommend this hotel and will stay here again.
Hotel staff was racist and very unprofessional. The pool area was dirty and there werent any towels for guests. Our rooms were small and did not have a microwave or tub. The staff gave us rooms rite by the elevator and we were awakened during the night by the elevator doors opening and closing. My overall experience was poor and I will never come back here to stay ever.
Worse place I’ve ever been too. Staff were liars and unprofessional. Manager refused to let me speak to someone higher up. Manager had a nasty attitude along with equally nasty clothes and hair. Smelled like a sewer. Hair and food all over the counter. (She was African American ( So am I) but man at least I know how to put myself together. Go take a shower you disgusting pig. And clean up your attitude. You’re far too ugly to have a personality to match :)
The hotel is a good hotel especially for the rate I was given. Its a ways from the city, but perfect location to various restaurants, stores, malls and highways. The breakfast was well stocked and had a variety of options for kids and adults. The rooms were clean and properly stocked. My issues are the broken phone system, faulty air conditioning unit, and poor customer service.Due to a fire, my children and I had to evacuate the building from 6 am until 8 am. We were in our pajamas without coats and it was cold, raining and snowing. We ended up sitting in my car until the issue was resolved. Despite complaining about the phone on Thursday and being promised it would be fixed the next morning, on Sunday I was unable to contact the front desk representative to verify if the alarm was or not a false alarm before rushing my kids out in the cold. I even tried to contact the front desk using my cell phone, but I didnt get a answer. I was later explained she was unable to answer because she was working alone and literally knocking on guest doors to help others evacuate. I guess this was also due to the phone system not properly working and was told by other guest they had the same experience.I suffer from sleep apnea and due to my father-in-law being rushed to the hospital yesterday, I didnt get to bed until 2 am. I thought since our check out time was at 12, I would still be able to get sufficient sleep before heading home, but didnt.I explained the issue to the Manager, Jen, and she offered to extend my check out time, but this would force me to leave later than I intended on. Thus, forcing me to drive alone with my minor kids at night; ages 5 and 12. Although I didnt want to or plan on it, I asked Jen if she would extend my stay until the next morning. Jen agreed but only at a discounted rate.Im confused and dissatisfied with the manner my problem was resolved. Anyone knows after a vacation or any extended time away from home, typically people are ready to leave when they intend on leaving. I dont want to risk driving 8 hours or more with my kids in the car at night while being tired during bad weather so I need to stay another night. But the only reason Im in this position is due to the hotel air conditioning unit causing a fire that affected my ability to get the proper amount of sleep I needed to drive home.I feel the resolution to the problem was unacceptable and shows a lack of customer service. Despite, initially being quoted a rate $30 less than what was listed for the room on various websites and a higher rate than the initally rate I paid for the room, the only resolution provided by the manager, Jen, benefits the hotel more than me and my children as customers. The hotel earns revenue for a room that would have remained empty while forcing me to incur expenses relating to something I didnt want or need until I was forced in position due to a issue cause by them. I understand and empathize that some things are out of our control, but Im also a firm believer in taking accountability for issues regardless to being in your control or not especially being a reputable business such as the Hyatt.
This Hyatt Place is my favorite place to stay when in the area. Theyre usually very kind and organized. If I were to make any suggestion, it would be to put all families with young children on the same floor and not on floors where people need to rest. This past stay, there were children running and screaming in the halls till 2am. The adults with them were just as bad. I felt like I was being a cumudgian old person calling down to ask for them to quiet the children.
Second stay here. First time was wonderful and had no problems. This time around we stayed 4 days. First night we didnt get our booked room (king) had to switch rooms because our carpet in the reserved room was still wet from being cleaned. Night desk guy (talk, skinny, dark brown hair) promised we could switch to our reserved room in the morning. All lies. Tried switching at 0900 before we left for the day, desk clerk said all the king rooms were still occupied and/or not clean. If the night clerk would have been honest with us in the first place saying that they overbooked, we would have been more understanding. So we left for the day. 3pm, we are downtown enjoying ourselves and the hotel is wanting to move our stuff to the new room, and concerned that there wouldnt be any evening housekeepers to clean the first room they put us in. Sorry, not my problem you overbooked, lied to me, and now you want me to hurry back to the hotel on a Friday evening when we are downtown Chicago to move my stuff. Plus when we got back to move our belongings, the clerk watched us like we were going to steal something. Great way to make us feel welcome.Besides that instance, it was a nice stay. Beds a little too hard for my liking (memory gel bed at home). Housekeeping came way late in the day on day 3, close to 4p). Bathroom too small to close door just to use toilet. Loved the breakfast. Need a change machine in the lobby for all the out of towners who need change for the toll roads.
DO NOT STAY HERE. They will take your money and then refuse to refund you the correct amount. I booked the Romance package for my 2 night stay. During this stay, I got NONE of what was described. When I went to ask the front desk, I was told it could not be honored due to Covid-19, which I completely understand, we are going through some tough times. Therefore, I asked for a refund instead of the romance package to be charged the standard nightly rate because I received nothing of the romance package. Every call I made to get this issue resolved was frustrating because they refused to refund or even compensate with another night. I was told all they could do is remove $10 off for the wine i did not receive. I’m sorry but $10 does not equate to the extra $100 I paid to receive NOTHING. Very very frustrated and annoyed with this whole company because even corporate told me they could not do anything about this. This is fraudulent, unprofessional, and lazy. It was very obvious they did not want to fix THEIR mistake and took the lazy way out. I will never be staying at a Hyatt hotel ever again in the future and I will be sure to tell all my friends and family about the horrible experience I went through here. :) FRAUD. FRAUD. FRAUD.
It was an okay stay. The room was nice, but the hallway on the 4th floor and both elevators reeked of marijuana. I at one point told the front desk and they said they would take care and spray the hallway. Next time I walked down the hallway a couple hours later it smelled fine. Then the following afternoon the hallway and elevator stunk even more, it also creeped into my room and my girlfriend complained our room stank. I get that marijuana is legal recreationally in Illinois, but this is supposed to be a smoke free hotel that I paid for, also being a hyatt rewards member. Please get better at having your guests not stink up the rooms. I should of just booked the hyatt house down the street.
They wasted our time for to long. Kept pushing our check in time back cuz they didnt clean the second room on time but wouldnt even let us in the the first room but after almost two hours they let us in the first room n still didnt finished the second room. But breakfast was great. But chef was alil rude eggs was gross tho😂
I am was there and really have bad experiences in the room its okay. But smell nasty and we requested no smoke and the 4 floor was smoke marijuana very. Noise a lot of kids and adult does not respect other room besides they come to our room knock the door and left happened Many time.Really I do not come back and not recommend at all
Unfortunately our most recent stay was not the same positive experiences weve had in the past at this hotel. When calling the front desk for a hairdryer, we were met with less than positive customer service. The next morning, at 8:15, while I was still sleeping there was a knock on the door. Before I had a chance to answer it, the housekeeper was using her key to open our door. I was quite surprised and upset that I was woken up in this way. The front desk was less than concerned with our complaint regarding this situation. If you choose to stay here, make sure you put up the Do Not Disturb sign if you sleep in. We are disappointed with this stay and will consider other places to stay on future visits.
Nice hotel. True to Hyatt franchise. Only issues is its overcrowded during breakfast time. They have people staying for marriage etc and therefore there are long lines for breakfast in the morning. And someone like me who is not part of the wedding group has to unnecessarily feel inconvenience during breakfast waiting in line and not enough tables to sit and cutlery to eat. Long lines for using waffle maker , or toaster.
Stayed overnight one a weekend and the place was packed. Room was clean and very nice. The bathroom is a tight squeeze with the door closing very close to the toilet. Also, plastic cups in the bathroom sink area would have been nice (the only ones available were glass or ceramic - no way in heck will I use a glass that is not disposable in a hotel!). The real issue came on Sunday morning when we attempted to go down six floors for the free breakfast. One of the two elevators was broken (a recurring problem, according to maintenance) so the entire, fully booked hotel, had to use just one elevator. This resulted in waiting 10 minutes for a ride. Breakfast was nicely stocked (skip the pancakes - they are cold, tasteless and hard) but super crowded with absolutely no where to sit in their tiny seating area. Many were standing around trying to eat their food. The ride back upstairs took another 10 minutes (the front desk still did not acknowledge that the elevator was broken, even though this had been going on for more than 1 1/2 hours), in part because now the maids were using the elevator to get from floor to floor with their HUGE cleaning carts, leaving the paying guests standing around waiting for the elevator to return. This inconvenience caused us to be late for our morning appointment. We will probably choose a different hotel the next time we are in the area.
Room was nice and clean. Had full breakfast but wished staff kept dish stocked during morning rush time. Seem bit understaff. What i dislike is the loud bangs the heavy doors make when shutting. Wish hotel could do something about it. Location was farther from dowtown area then expected. But it was in a nicer part of town.
Need more friendly staff at front desk... Dont know if I will be back. Front desk lady was very rude, told me that everyone had to sign an policy agreement letter come to find out that wasnt true. I watched other people come in and she didnt present the agreement policy to them at all.... Maybe shes only choosing people of color. I found to be very offensive. What goes for one, goes for all!!! Ive been here many of times for business, and never felt so insulted before in my life.... I can understand if a place have policies, but it was way to do things without coming off like Im there to party or something. I was there for a business trip and I felt like she came down on me about party rules and noise like me ( a person of color) . She didnt ask the white people to sign anything 5 mins after I checked in... Totally unfair and doubt if I be back
Pretty clean room, work out facility and lobby. However wasnt too happy with the fact their elevators seem to always be down. And this malfunctioning caused a false fire alarm at 4 a.m. in the morning. Did I mention it was raining and everyone had to evacuate, until the firemen arrive. Not cool standing in the rain and cold for over an hour, just to be told the real cause of the false alarm. That definitely made for a rough day of meetings later that day.
Nice place. This is at least our 4th stay. Spacious rooms and clean. This visit had couple snags; the tv was partially broken and the remote didnt work. They didnt get us a new remote until morning which is pretty pointless on a one night stay! Room keeping was VERY loud before 8am, talking loudly and banging on doors. Otherwise, we would stay again.
The floor we was on was being remodeled with peeling wallpaper all over the halls , room was ok except for a worn let out bed with stains all over it and we found a bed bug in the bathroom by the towels the next morning, was not offered a discount or anything for the inconvenience, front desk was friendly and helpful, breakfast was decent with a variety of options.
My coworker raved about this hotel so we switched over on our last business trip. It is the perfect set up for business travel. The room is bifurcated in half with a desk, sitting area and coffee table in the front, and a king bed, bathroom and sink in the back half of the room. The large flat screen tv can be oriented either toward the front of the room or the back. Business in the front and party in the back. It has a nice feng shui feel to it; the front part is completely appropriate for a small business meeting or interview, and the back part is relaxing. Completely digital hookups and plugins. The hotel phone in the room is cordless so you can place it on the bedside table for wake up calls. It is true that the bathroom is very small but I don’t need it to be large.Other features I loved: check in in under 2 minutes, breakfast served very quickly, 2 in room full sized mirrors, immaculately clean.
From the staff to the cleanliness of the facilities and amenties of my room, this place is 5 stars. Friendly staff who accommodated my requests while simultaneously tending to two large wedding parties. The 5 mile radius shuttle is a must for business travelers in the area. That plus the free breakfast and wifi are worth the $10 more to stay here vs a nearby hotel. Couldnt recommend this more.
During my stay at the Hyatt Place Chicago/Lombard/Oak Brook, I had some concerns about cleanliness. When I walked into the hotel, the hotel had trash built up throughout the hall. So, I was greeted by trash overflowing. Then the floors were dirty and had pop corn everywhere. It looked like kids were having a pop corn fight. Now, the most common sense is to clean up this popcorn. However, they did not until the next day! When I walked into my room, then I noticed that my head board bed was dirty and full of dirt and hand prints. Then my last concern was, what in the heck is next to the food? Im hoping that in this picture, that they did not leave Do Not Drink Chemicals next to the food. I dont want to mislead anyone in regards to what this bottle was, but Im just praying that is not a cleaning chemical next to open food that would be given to people in the morning. Overall, I think this place is nice but its very dirty and has poor cleaning habits. I rate my experience 1 star. This is just my experience at this location. Maybe all the cleaning staff were off on 2/18/18. Take Care.
I was really frustrated about the lack of enforcement of mask wearing. The website and signage in the hotel said guests had to wear masks in the common areas. Of the 3 employees I saw, 1 was not wearing a mask. Of the 11 guests I saw, 7 were not wearing masks (including one on an elevator). I lost someone to COVID-19; I certainly do not want to be exposed to it. When I brought up the question with staff, they said they were not able to enforce the policy or deny service.
This hotel is in a great location. It is close to several restaurants (some are even within walking distance) and shopping. The free breakfast offered here is better than the standard free breakfast offered by other similar chains. The rooms are the standard Hyatt Place layout, and the staff here is usually very nice and attentive.
The room had no toilet paper in the bathroom. The wake up call never came either morning. The staff that was to clean the room seemed impatient to have us leave our room, as she knocked twice to see if we had left the room. I had to ask for a receipt after paying at the desk. Overall I was disappointed with the experience and will not return to this hotel.
VERY clean, friendly, good food at restaurant (I had cheeseburgers and tried a couple different soups) for an evening snack. Accommodated a room change for me when a neighbor was loud. Super quick service when I requested a new hair dryer one morning and also when I needed help with my heater one evening. 5 stars!
This hotel was absolutely beautiful and located very close to shopping, lots of dinning chioces, and the interstate. The staff was very curtious, and the enitre building appeared very clean. Our room was spacious, with a nice work area, large shower, and very comfortable sofa and bed. The TV could easily be viewed from the bed or sofa which were separated by a small wall. The A/C worked wonderfully and was easily adjusted. The complamentary breakfast was just absolutely amazing with lots of different delicious chioces. All in all this was just a wonderful place to stay and I would definitely use this hotel again.
Stayed 3/29/18...Specifically for indoor pool. Never again. Pool was EXTREMELY cloudy and surrounding area was gross. No towels. Had to ask front desk for towels with shivering 3yro who I only allowed to put her feet in the water to try to ease the disappointment of the cloudy pool (and I am not a germy mom, it was just that cloudy/dirty) . Was in pool area for no more than 30 mins and spent $115 for that. Room heater was bad...Light in bathroom is dim..Every table was dirty in breakfast area though the breakfast choices were good.
Really enjoyed my stay. Remote from Chicago, but very positive experience. Clean, quiet, orderly. Bring a laptop or media stick. You have a media hub to use the TV for movies etc. Friendly service and close to multiple restaurants. Shipping mall is close. You can walk everywhere with very few exceptions. Very encouraging to stick with Hyatt.
Great breakfast and coffee included. Full yogurt fruit and granola bar. Eggs, bacon and add ins plus great cinnamon toast. Lots of other bread, bagel and cereal options. Coffee is Seattles Best and quite good. Clean rooms. Very friendly staff. Starbucks coffee and treats sold in the lobby. Gym is open 24 hours. Pool is open until 10pm. Close to the airport and plenty of shopping.

2022-03-31Great management and great staff. Very clean and organized hotel. We were greeted by the manager upon arrival and the service was amazing. The hotel is super clean and the rooms are fantastic! I would highly recommend this place. I will definitely plan to stay here for my next visits to Chicago area. By the way the parking was also excellent and lots of shopping stores and restaurants around. Thank you team for making our stay as comfortable as possibleSpecial thanks to the manager who guided us around the area and recommended places to go to

2022-02-22The rooms were clean and spacious. The lobby, pool, breakfast area and grounds could of used some attention. Unkempt to say the least! Breakfast was not very appetizing. We had an issue with our room door jamming and it was handled very unprofessional by the staff. The clerk on staff was even using choice 4 letter words dealing with his frustration with the situation! The next day for our inconvenience, I was told I would receive an email with points enough for a free room for any Hyatt Place. Of course, that never came. Very disappointed!! I would not recommend nor go back to this hotel

2022-05-25Bad experience: I came here every time I am in Chicago. Always good value for the money. This time: not at all. My room wasnt taken care for 4 full days and when I asked why and I was told they refit rooms only after the third day of your stay...well guess what they did not cause on the fourth day nothing happened and all of sudden it was my fault cause I did not have my room number and my surname !!!! How is this possible ? You have all the information, you know when your customers check in, which room and for how long so you just have to pass that info to the housekeepers and organize their schedule. Poor management and never ever said: I am sorry we mismanaged....

2022-03-04We got to the hotel and the staff was rude. We had issues checking in and the associate helping us, just kept telling us that he couldnt help us over and over again... Then they associate told us that quiet hours were in strict enforcement but that was a lie. Every night around 11pm-3am, there were children running up and down the hallways screaming and doors were slamming to other rooms. The night staff is not care that this was happening. The window unit in the room was not working the best either. Also, there was a lovely, giant blood stan in the bathroom. The hotel did absolutely nothing to cover it up or paint over it at all; which was honestly disturbing. Again, the hotel staff did not seem to be bothered by this at all or even seemed concerned that we were upset about it. Overall, I would not stay here again and would pay the extra money to stay at Embassy Suites or at the Westin.

2022-04-05Positive: The staff was friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was good had enough of a variety. The pool was decent and happy they provided pool towels. Negative: The elevator is extremely slow. The room smelled musty and the heating/cooling system was hard to regulate. Was a bit disappointed that they did not have hot food diner options onsite and the bar area was minimal.

2022-02-14Me and my family check in to this hotel on 2-11-22 and was supposed to check out on 2-13-22. When we got to the room we saw a bed bug in the bed. We went to tell the person at the services desk he call the Assistant General Manager Patricia Wambuguh and the only thing she said was did we won’t to move to a new room and we said no so she said for him to start the process to refund use the money. And he said for use to call and talk to her at 9am on 2-12-22 but in instead of me calling I drove back to the hotel to talk to her myself and the only thing she said to me was she was sorry and she hope I would come back and stay. I WILL NEVER COME BACK AND STAY. Very poor customer service….

2022-06-27The front desk staff was wonderful along with housekeeping staff. Very cleans rooms and hotel. We were in the middle of malls and lots of restaurants. My only complaint was traffic getting to downtown Chicago and the beach area, but that’s because the traffic and congestion due to many things going on this weekend. Other than that this hotel is located right in the middle of everything you can imagine.

2022-04-24After thinking I could get my family out the city just for the night before I go to work, this has turn into a complete failure. Everything was fine until we tried to sleep. The HVAC made a extremely loud noise my children were terrified!!! At 4:30am my wife finally called after not being able to get some sleep since 8:30pm. Not only that issue but the shower pressure was terrible. We literally had to sit in the bathtub, this delayed our reservation for dinner with we eventually had to cancel. Staff are very friendly and welcoming but there’s some renovations that needs to be done.

2022-04-03First & last time staying here. Hotel needs to have lots of repairs done to it! Rooms are small! My room had bugs in it! Elevator wasnt working! Ice machine only works on 3rd floor have to use the stairs! And very very unpleasant to stay you can hear ppl outside the door as if there coming into your room.
