Hy-Vee Grocery Store in other cities:
Love the new self checkout! Quick and easy, and always helpful employees!! I love their Chinese food and especially their sushi! Delicious sushi at a really good price, some days theyre even buy one, get one free!Update: 2 years later. I always use self checkout, even with large orders because there are so many, Im never holding anyone else up. But MY GOD. Do they have to have people CONSTANTLY PACE AROUND YOU. You feel like you did something wrong, or they think youre gonna steal and its just, UGH. I went in with my husband and 2 kids last time. At self checkout with over $300 order. My husband goes Uhhh, am I crazy or is there a million workers going around us? I was like Uh yea, thats what it feels like everytime. I hate it. He didnt believe me, until just he and I returned for a little shopping a few days later. STILL, THEY HAD ONE PERSON STAND AT THE EXACT STYLE CHECKOUT BE HIND MINE AND STARE AT ME. Like bro, youre wearing THE UNIFORM. Im pretty sure we know youre there. And honestly, I dont think that Dr that was there has had much experience with medical devices, cuz HES WEARING A HYVEE UNIFORM, HES NOT A DR. Lowering to a 3 star review. I also had over $30 of sushi go off within a day of purchasing it turned completely grey and inedible. I emailed, never heard back. So meh Hyvee. The last purchase I made there was diced fried chicken pieces. They ended being marked just as Diced crispy chicken. Brought it home, fed my kids. My daughter starts screaming a few bites in. My son just trying to get through this day. Uh mom, this chicken is SUPER SPICY! IT WAS BUFFALO MIXED WITH REGULAR CRISPY CHICKEN. I called up, I speak to Customer Service and she literally sounded annoyed and says Okay well fix that. 2 days later, I go back for frosted angel food cake (mind your business, stop judging me) and immediately see the SAME CHICKEN. Buffalo mixed with regular. No markings. I grab a manager, told him what happened, that I called, they said theyd fix it, but still here. My 7 YEAR OLD KID ATE THIS YALL. He was 😲 like, Uh okay Ill get it right now!! Never offered a raise, but never asked either. So heres us shooting our shot. Just a bit later in life. 2 stars removed due to this current review.
Cleanliness and orderliness are always above expectations. Employee friendliness has taken a noticeable decline in recent years though. Employees would ask you if you needed any help finding anything, once upon a time. Not anymore. I was visibly irritated and unable to find 3 specific items and I believe I counted five different employees that I motioned to (you know the motion that means I need assistance) and each one was too busy to help, or couldnt help me because they didnt know where it was. Back in the day they would say, well I dont know--- but Ill find out for you and be right back!!! What a shame.
They are true to their motto. Theres a helpful smile in every aisle. Every aisle has a smile to the point that you will find a smile that is perfect for you. Heathers smile was so perfect and watching that smile wrapped around me was the most exhilarating experience Ive had in 38 years.
The store is nice. Ive had pleasant experiences shopping here. My focus today is on the takeout or dine in sections.Had $6 biscuits and gravy, a $4 breakky sandwich and a $2 coffee. I was disappointed in the biscuits and gravy. The biscuits were far from fresh, almost hard or stiff, and the gravy not as thick as Id have hoped. The sandwich was good, and they even offered to substitute my cheese for something I enjoyed. Though I imagine that was an upcharge. I had asked for a latte and the counter lady said I could make one myself, to which I should have realized she didnt know what a latte was. Oh well. The meal was brought to me on clean plates with fresh silverware. I was only left wondering how I should ask to deal with the lackluster dish I ordered, and ended up leaving without making a fuss of it.I think they could do with a healthy manager to cover training and supervising the kitchen. Then their excellent facilities would really shine.
This is not walmart you need to understand this $$$$$ and not for poor people top dollar in this place they only take 6 out of 100 cows $$$$ the poor people and walmart get the others no black people in power like an upper management how many people look like me not that many yeah the lower pay people but they dont stick around that long
First, I need to say, I have usually been satisfied with services. Dont know what was going on today. I stood at salad counter to get a broccoli salad. 4 people were behind counter doing things. I tried to get their attention and that was challenging. About 4 minutes of saying sir and maam. Perhaps, a bell on counter would be a good solution. The other thing. I chose to use self check. Not thrilled with them but I can deal with. The thing is no one had stocked bags. I had to go to other aisles to find bags to bag my things. Needless to say, not in great mood right now.
This Hy-Vee is lacking, they do not carry a lot of things the other Hy-Vees do, they are constantly out of everyday items, and they don’t have sales like the other ones. Yes they are all independent of each other but you would think sharing the name they would have a standard expected of them, this one used to have THE BEST health market and even that is incredibly disappointing anymore. I usually end up leaving to go to another Hy-Vee, and this one is two minutes from home so it’s frustrating I can’t even run in for Coffee Mate because they won’t have it.
I live in California and I was traveling back to the Quad Cities area for a memorial picnic for my brother, Jim, who past away from Covid 19in May of 2020. I called the Hy-Vee store on 18 Street in Rock Island and spoke to Craig the Deli manager. He was very helpful and we set up a menu for Jims peers and staff from the Arc of the Quad cities. Craig came to Lincoln Park and set up everything we needed on the day of the picnic. Jims friends and staff had a good time and enjoyed the food and the park. I really enjoyed meeting Craig and thought he did a wonderful job of making the picnic a success.
I used to work here when in was in highschool and college. I was here the other day and there was 1 cashier checking out a line of people with full carts while the cashier supervisor was standing around talking to stockers by the self checkout. The supervisor was able to help me ring up my items when I asked.
I love my local hy-vee. They are so friendly in there! I love the support they show to the community allowing organic, home-made products to be sold at their store, and how they throw little events from time to time as well. They also have been assisting me with my move by providing me with boxes. Like I said, LOVE the store and ALL OF THE STAFF❤️ They really seem to enjoy helping/checking on their customers.
We went to this Hy-Vee to receive our covad-19 vaccine shot. The pharmacy staff was very helpful and friendly. The staff member who gave us the shot explained to us want type of vaccine we were receiving and asked if we had questions. Very nice store as well as we did some shopping as well.
Produce is never ripe. They stop selling my favorite foods, like select under the sea tuna in lemon and dill by starkest. Employees are reckless with turning corners with their carts, and u better b careful around them!! I wish we had a different option in a grocery store than just Hyvee. I will shop at jewel and Aldis from now on. Enough is enough
Most times when I visit the restaurant and order from the buffet the food is good. This time could have been much better. I asked for a 12 piece bucket. There was only 1 breast and none being cooked. To compensate the counter person packed in more thighs legs and wings. Which would have been great had this batch not been overcooked and dried out. Obviously it had been there to long. Disappointed to say the least.
I have always been a loyal customer here. Until I was told I am unable to enter the premises, Becouse Im not wearing a covering over my face.Well the employees arent following their own policies, and wearing these masks properly.Im not gonna be told I have to follow their policies if they cant follow it themselves.Freedom of choice!
Best place for produce and their deli counter is an easy win over any other options available in town that I have found. They are a little more costly than your average trip to Walmart, but their occasional sale makes it worth it. Use your fuel saver as well to help off set their higher prices 🙂
Went in to buy some Chinese food. While the food looked great, the customers were actively ignored by the employee behind the counter. Nothing was said. He never looked up. He continued to leisurely flip through a book. Not once did he look up. There were three customers waiting in line for 5 minutes. I walked out. I put everything I had back. I will go somewhere else that is more attentive and actively willing to help their customers.
Always clean and has a nice selection of cultural items. Love the healthfood section selections!! The management is awsome!! I been shopping here for many years and I know they really do treat you like family!! If they dont have or carry an item you want just tell them and they will do their best to get it!! I love how they support local entrepreneurs and sell local products!! Now thats a store ill keep supporting! Covid safe!! Masks require, plenty of sanitizer and clean carts also a whole cleaning station if you dont trust their work..😂
Used Express pickup was told to pick order up between 6:30 and 7 showed up at 10 minutes till 7 did not get my order until 50 minutes later with mass confusion and a $10.80 charge with no explanation also there was only one person that seem to be taking care of all orders I will give him credit he was polite and as efficient as he could be but he was getting no help from management or anyone else at this point I do not know if I will ever step foot in a high V again
Have been disappointed in the Rock Island store, as of late. Store appears in dsarray.Fewer cashiers. (Replaced by two new self check outs.)Quality of products have diminished.Have dealt with spoiled products. ie: FruitAnd today, store wide removal of disposable cart wipes.YUCK!Were still in a pandemic!Right?
Hy-Vee offers a wide variety of convenient locations so that everyone can experience the low prices and everything else they have to offer. They have almost everything youll need (besides furniture), for your home and everyday life. I highly recommend it for all classes of people due to its variety of products and big staff to keep things moving! I give it 5 STARS!
Awsome! You all made my Mother’s Day the best ! Thank you Haley in the floral department and my cakes were delicious from the wonderful staff and the delivery driver was so nice bless his heart! Thank you again! You all are the best ! Making a difference always a great experience have a great day ! ;)👍👍👍👍👍
They have the largest selection of cold / better beers in the area. They also have a smoker at this location for great deals on smoked meat. I like to get the smoked boneless pork chops and then sear them on a hot grill to warm them for sandwiches. They come fully cooked but searing these chops makes them extra awesome!
Hy-Vee is usually a nice experience but my last visit I had come at the wrong time. Long lines, but still love the selection of items you can get here. I love the Chinese area especially, makes me hungry thinking about it!Also to add, management always has a smile on their faces, great to walk into a store with that.
For years I bought flowers for Mother’s Day and had them delivered. This year was no different other then they didn’t deliver them. It’s hard to mess up delivering flowers but somehow they did. They said they called and left a door tag which never happened. Why not just deliver them then if your going to use a door tag ????Will not ever make that mistake again.
There is a helpful smile in every aisle. Clean store. Like the fresh meat counter because I can get one or two pieces of meat instead of having to buy a package with multiple pieces. Like the lactose free milk and yogurt. Buy yard waste bag stickers there. Like the smaller size shopping carts.
After reading numerous reviews saying the store is clean I had to verify I was looking at the Rock Island location because they have mouse traps right next to the doors and there is always garbage all over the ground, it’s not clean. The produce dept is the worst in the Quad Cities, limited selection and what they do have is usually wilted and rotten. The bakery is small and has a terrible selection. Trying to check out of this store is never enjoyable, always lines, never have baggers, express is never open at night so getting a few items takes at least five, and up to 20, minutes because you have to get into the same line as people with full carts. The management at this store is pathetic. To recap, bad produce, small worthless bakery, freezers that are frosted over, long checkout lines, lazy management, mouse traps, garbage on the ground, terrible parking lot, other than that it’s great.
Great prices. Clean store. Traffic there is like chicago. Never been to a grocery store before where people (customers) are rude and dont care when you are trying to get around. Went in one night to loud teens yelling and 4 of them on one of those electric carts. Staff ignored them. Still a good store . just avoid the people ( again customers) and order for pick up or delivery.. Helps keep me in budget every time.
This hyvee is conveniently located near my home however will no longer shop there. The frozen food is freezer burnt and if you are a yogurt buyer you better check the dates as they are always expired especially the noosa brand. Have brought this to their attention several times and still happening. I ordered instacart this evening March 13 my yogurt I received was dared 2/28. Called and reported and they thanked me. If you shop here always check expiration dates on everything you purchase.
Definitely the grocery store of Moline. Clean, well stocked and organized. The check out staff greet you with a smile and will help you if you didnt find what you needed. I actually forgot my wallet in the car , so when I had to pay, i didnt have ID, money or credit card. The lady checking me out said it was ok, and would wait for me ton get my items. I did quickly and upon my return all was bagged up and waiting for me to pay and be on my way. What a welcome and surprisingly pleasant experience.
Cashier made it difficult when using WIC. I had everything separated and the tickets with the products necessary. She mixed it all up and ended up not scanning some of the items that went with a ticket so I wasnt able to get it. And she wasnt very polite about any of it. Made me feel like I was holding up the line.
Right down the road within walking distance to Augustana College. Great location with many options that are not available at other grocery stores in the area. This location is always clean and the workers are helpful. They have many healthy options that are made in house and have a dietitian available as well. I love this Hy-Vee!
Need to fix their wifi. And once you know the layout (if they dont change it on you) its easy to find what you need. Friendly staff are there to help you if you dont know where something is. Great dine in food options - absolutely love their Chinese and pizza. Deli and meat counters have very good selection. Can be a bit pricey, but their Hyvee brand is pretty good to save a buck. Their fuel saving opportunities are great too! PS their muffins are the best.
HyVee is one of the best stores here in Rock Island they have one of the best meat area in the back and a lot of good guys who wait on you theyre meet men will tell you how fresh it is and tell you how long it has been out and they have plenty of good sales they are all good people there and they have a lot of varieties of everything its going to be nice to see the HyVee gas station when it gets done thank you again for letting us shop at your store do not move have a nice day
I have nothing good to say about this hyvee on 18th in rock island. Rude rude rude i will not go back to this store and recommend they do a reality check on there employees. I have been treated so rude 4 different times what a rude nasty store Im done with that hyvee I am an everyday customer but not anymore. I will spend the extra gas to go to another hyvee.
I recently moved from milan area to rock island. I have had the worst experiances at the rock island store. Bad customer service from almost all the staff i have seen (and tried to talk to), outdated product on shelves and empty shelves! I love hyvee but i think im going to try out jewel.
Very empty shelves way over priced even the Bettendorf hy-vee is cheaper with a lot of things. Going through the check out the bagger either walks away and leaves me to bag my own items or the cashier and bagger wont stop talking to eachother. Even with a manager right behind me.
Went here for a few items that were on sale because I happened to be on that side of the river. I forgot to check my receipt before I left the store, and ended up paying the regular price for 2 sale items. Called the store and told them what happened, and they said I would have to drive back to their store for my $7.00 refund. No other alternative for me, and so I was out $7.00. I have had this problem once in a while with the Hy -Vees in Davenport.
Hometown place. I also said a similar thing in another review about the hyvee in davenport on kimberly. Hyvee needs to get it together and get some damn northern pines pancake mix and little kings cream ale so i can have some. I dont like going straight to the source but hyvee.....you are forcing my hand.
I want to personally thank The Rock Island HyVee and Asst. Manager Patrick for his extra generous help! I manage The Abbey Station in Rock Island. Last Saturday night we had an event, it was a 50th. Class Reunion. In this day and age we process several debit and credit cards on any given night and cash is a rare. On this night it was the exact opposite, every one seemed to pay using cash. Halfway through the evening we ran out of dollar bills and quarters. I ran up to The HyVee in Rock Island and Patrick so generously sold me $100.00 in $1 bills and $30.00 in quarters. We were able to continue to serve our guests all due to Patricks help. I am very appreciative of his help, other times I have tried to buy change from another business, but they are always unwilling to help.Patrick went above and beyond to help me and I just want to give him the praise he deserves.Sincerely, Coleen Koranda, & The Abbey Station Bartenders
Rock island store. I went to hy vee to get some chicken 8 pc the girl asked me what parts I wanted. I said a chicken witch is a whole ck 2leg 2 wings 2 breast and 2 thighs she didnt know that then I asked for rock island potatoes salad sheet cramped it ti almost over flowing. This is why I wont shop there very often
Over priced in order to get the sails you have to have a card so they can track what you buy and some times you can only get one item with the card by the week or month.. ie you have to use the card to get the sale after using it you cant use it again for the same product later in the week or month

2022-02-18If you shop in the organic section be sure to check expiration dates. On multiple occasions I have found products to be months past the expiration date still on the shelf. Worst health market/organic section of any Hy-Vee in the QC area.

2022-04-04I’m not sure what’s up with Hy-Vee lately. First they take out the John Deere store, one of the best Hy-Vee out there and the best aisles online pickup. But now they took away aisles online here as well!I’m not the only one completely turned off by this, looks like Walmart gets another customer. Hy-Vee, get real. Your corporate clowns aren’t doing you any favors.
