I was saddened upon my registration to understand that my points that I had previously where no longer valued- I was a gold elite member- now to realize that I have to start over with my rewards because a new program started. Wow, not great service to continued guests. Our stay was great! As it always is... we have not traveled much since Spring 2020 (covid pandemic) and now I realize that my rewards membership has went down to the main membership. Saddened to know I am not valued.
First time staying at a Holiday Inn Express and I was impressed. Except for a budget amount of coffee provided for just one person and paper drinking cups, everything was perfect. Beds were comfortable and clean and maid service was every day which is unusual these days. I would have preferred a two-sink bathroom.
I called the main number for ihg hotels, because no one was answering the phone at the hotel, to ask if they had a hottub and was it working! The nice man who answered and took my reservation said he would check, came back on and said yes, so I made the reservation, got there and there was no hottub, they closed it at least a year before!!!! Really???
We were in town for the weekend to see a friend that was in a dueling piano show at the Beef house. Our experience at the Holiday Inn express was excellent. The front desk was courteous and helpful. Our room was spotless and the bed was very comfortable. All in all it was a great experience.
I have a beautiful, large family at home and my husband blessed me with a room at this hotel to hide away and deep study for a few days during final exam week of Nursing school. The bed was soft and comfortable. The bathroom was clean and ready for spa activities. This tired momma/nursing school student put comfy PJs and a face mask on, set the room temp to cozy, and reviewed for finals. This experience was amazing and I would totally recommend it to anyone who has important exam(s) and a full/beautiful home life! (I passed all exams and graduate with my Bachelors of Science in Nursing May 7, 2021. :) )
Perfectly clean and sanitized room. Good breakfast. Hotel clean everywhere. Well lighted inside and out. All the staff was wearing masks... All were very courteous and helpful. A SPECIAL thank you to Matt who went above and beyond the call of duty. I couldnt recommend this place any higher. Will absolutely stay there again!
This place was my favorite, but for the wrong reason. In my room it would be 8:00pm then I would walk outside and it would be 7:00pm. So confusing at first but then it was hilarious. I do have to mention I found 2 ticks in my bed... But I wouldnt be surprised if I brought them in.
This was my worst experience at a Holiday Inn Express since I’ve started staying at your hotels. While I have stayed at other chains that were less than satisfactory, I have never given less than excellent marks to the Holiday Express Inns that I have frequented. The mattresses were thin and not very comfortable. The food for breakfast was mediocre at best. As a positive, the staff was friendly and courteous. And on our our home, we stayed at a Holiday Express in Louisville, Ky that restored my confidence that Danville IL was just a fluke.
We were in town for furneral and we exhausted once we got to the hotel. Allie greeted us with this huge welcoming smile that was do inviting it is feel like we were being greeted by family. She checked us in quickly because we had told her the reason for our visit. Once we got to our room we knew that we picked the right place to stay. The following morning before check out we went down the compliment8 breakfast it was really good, the cook was very attentive made sure everything was fresh and avaible. The eating area was clean and we had no trouble finding somewhere to sit. Once we checked out Sarah helped us and she was just as nice as Allie. Our overall experience was awesome and we would definitely recommend anyone to stay at this Hotel. We will if we are ever in Illinois again.
I found everything about my stay was a acceptable .I stay at this hotel because of that and the therapy and relaxation of the Jacuzzi. The Jacuzzi was closed and the pool and workout room also. The hotels next door and in neighboring states were not.I feel I should be compensated for this very important feature of this hotel being absent.I paid 140.oo for 1 night for 1 person.I would like a voucher or points for a free night when it IS open.
Friendly service, but public areas reek of heavy pot smoke. The Sunnyside dispensary is located across the street. Our pull-out sofa sleeper in the King Suite had no mattress and no extra bedding despite our reservation was specific to 2 adults and one child in the room. The quality here has certainly diminished from our prior stays. We have been reserving Memorial Day weekend stays here for over 10 years. Very disappointed we now need to search for other options.
The room was very nice, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. There was absolutely no guarantee that the room has been cleaned or anything in it had been cleaned. There were no sterile wipes or sanitizer anywhere if you need it felt you needed to re-sanitize some thing. The bedspread is not changed on a daily basis from what the lady at the front desk said. I felt very uneasy about the sterility of the room. It looked clean however I did not feel assured that it was sterile. Not sure that things are being sanitized properly?
The hotel was easy to find, clean outside and inside, my room was available early for me and I was able to get checked in quickly. My room was clean and comfortable and I liked that the hotel provided shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel as a permanent fixture in the shower/tub. I didnt get to try the breakfast, but it smelled really good! I would stay here again if I were in the Danville area.
This was one of the nicest Holiday Inns Ive ever stayed at. The room was laid out nicely, and the work station was large enough for my laptop and charger and phone without feeling crowded......etc. Due to COVID, the breakfast was being served by a hostess just like at a lunch counter. It was very good. It was nice to have a hot breakfast as compared to the grab and go bags which are usually a granola bar, cup of yogurt, and cup of some kind of juice. This was much nicer.
All of the staff and were very friendly and accommodating and it seemed they went out of their way to ensure we had a pleasant experience. It also appeared they were maintaining all of the COVID19 requirements because they were concerned about our safety - not because it was mandatory. This was especially true at the breakfast bar, which had limited choices because of COVID19, but was very good.
We really enjoyed this hotel, it was so nice, clean in every area. Beds were cozy and comfortable, the room was so pretty. the breakfast food was amazing. hot and cold breakfast to choose from. i was very impressed with the food allergy notification posted in breakfast area. the staff kept everything spotless. My stay was perfect in every way.
Overall its a been a great place to stay when traveling & this has been my third time traveling for work. Brittany at the checking desk is excellent at customer service! My only complaint is the internet service is terrible unless you book a room thats closest to the front entrance. Ive had to move my last two visits due to no internet connection when I was booked in a room toward the rear of the building. Really liked the room & having the Keurig available in the room. I will definitely stay here again in mid September.
The setup and style of the room was very welcoming and comfortable. The cleanliness of the room exceeded all expectations!! I ran around the room in white socks and when I took the socks off, they were still white!! Definitely clean! The breakfast serving staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. They were also unexpectedly friendly. Definite plus in my book.
I stay in hotels 4 days a week sometimes more. I have only given a few 5 star or excellent reviews. This HIE was on spot from the time I checked in until the time I checked out. The clerk was awesome. The rooms were very clean the bed was nice and comfortable. I will stay again when in the aeea.
Hotel has become dated. Everything needs improvements including the busted foundation outside. A lot of signs were improvement needs to be done. Frankly, the worst Holiday Inn I have ever stayed in.....too bad because Holiday Inn has always been my first choice when traveling.
I traveled for a baby shower and I was so impressed with the cleanliness of the entire room, bathroom the beds were comfy. The breakfast was served and was always warm the staff was very pleasant always spoke when you entered the building and left the building. I would recommend this facility
This a more recently renovated hotel. The only problem was that I was situated near a stairwell, and the walls are kinda thin or lacking noise insulation, so I heard people leaving/entering all night. The room below also left his TV on all night which I could here fairly well. The front desk staff was exceptionally courteous and welcoming. I asked about restaurants in the area and he gave me a wide choice of menus and made suggestions. Despite the noise which was mainly the first night, the breakfast was hot and cooked as desired and better than other Holiday inns. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom and shower was clean. Do bring an AC travel USB adapter, they do not have a device USB station built into the night stands which I am a stickler about when it comes to hotels. Overall the stay was great and I would do it again if I am in town. The staff is very hospitable as most people in this town are. Will stop in again.
Stopped late in the evening while traveling from NC to MN. Very clean rooms with great beds, friendly staff and wonderful hot breakfast. Quite rooms, right off the interstate, and easy access to food. Pool was closed due to Covid, but the hot breakfast was up and running and great.
We normally enjoy staying at this Holiday Inn primarily because of the pool but evidently Holiday Inn was not able to open theirs. We didnt receive a discount due to the pool closure OR the breakfast elimination - all due to Covid. Not sure if this was because of restrictive state policies OR because of management decisions so I will stay here again in the future because it is normally quite nice. I do think advance notice of the elimination of amenities should have been provided, however. We stayed at a different chain in another state and their solutions were preferable - reserved pool hours for individual rooms and hostess served breakfast. Other features of the room were fine - clean and comfortable and (as usual), management did accommodate our room location. We were a bit disappointed, however.
The staff was great. My room was comfy and clean and okay. This may sound petty but walking into my room and the first thing I see is an ironing board hanging on the wall— just not that inviting for me. Overall this is a good place to stay. I felt safe and secure. The breakfast was good.
Only thing missing is the pool, but I know its not the hotels fault. We stay here about twice per year, its one exit away from our favorite restaurant - The Beef House (Indiana). The staff is accommodating, I usually request a room near the exit. I really look forward to the end of Covid because we miss the pool.
The only issue I had was WiFi. I don’t get very good signal in that area and couldn’t really stay connected. I wasn’t able to use the WiFi at all. But in there defense, I didn’t ask for it to be fixed because it wasn’t a huge issue. I think it should work right away instead of having to ask to get it fixed though. But other than that, I’d definitely stay here again. Everyone was very nice during my stay. My lady who cleaned my room (was the same person each night) did a tremendous job and I’d see her cleaning it everyday and we would just chitchat while she was cleaning it. Awesome place.
It all started with a very personable staff member at the front desk, and ended with a very comfortable night of sleep. She even helped me with finding a place to eat - Monicals is wonderful if youre looking for pizza/Italian! And even their delivery driver was amazing!!
I was staying during a week long visit to Danville, Illinois for work covering the NJCAA D-II Mens National Basketball Tournament. Our team (Mott Community College, Flint, Michigan), stayed at the Holiday Inn Express while they competed in the event, eventually finishing 5th. Mott holds the NJCAA D-II record with 4 all-time national championships. The rooms were clean, house keeping timely each morning and the overall accommodations very good. There was a modest breakfast buffet each morning with a combination of hot food, along with fruit, a variety of cereals, juices, milk and coffee. The eating area was always very clean and standard Coronavirus protocols were maintained. The staff was very professional and friendly, in particular the proprietor and General Manager, Matt and his counter staff, especially Jerry. Jerry made several recommendations regarding local dining establishments that were very good. The coaches and players oftened watch tournament games on the lobby TV before and after their own games. Matt and his staff maintained a tournament board, updating the teams as they played and advanced in the event and were very supportive.I look forward to my next trip to that area and the chance to stay at the Holiday Inn Express on the east side of Danville, Illinois.Tom Skinner, Clio/Flint, Michigan.
I travel frequently for work and used to stay at this property every time I came into town. But ever since the cannabis dispensary opened across the street, it’s become a flop house for people driving in from Indiana. Every floor smells like cannabis all the time. I so wish they would enforce their no smoking policy. If you’re a non-user, best to find another hotel. If you’re a user and like the smell of weed, this place is for you.
Upon entering the property front desk was very nice greeted us immediately with a hello While checking in I asked if there was an upgrade available and she said I will look her response was no, not with the rate your paying As I had mentioned in the note left with the front desk upon check out. It was embarassing if nothing else. I always feel like I am begging. In the previous 5 nights at IHG properties which 3 of the nights were rewards I was automaticlly given an upgrade twice. I understand if the hotel doesnt want to use a suite but, not saying not with the rate I am paying I did pay for the night but, am a 1st Responder and used that discount.
My family and I were guests for five nights. I cant say enough about the staff, they were all so friendly and helpful. The free morning breakfast was great, there was many choices and the food was hot. Our rooms were nice and clean and comfy beds. Pool/HotTub area also nice, my grandson enjoyed it! We had friends come out and visit and felt very comfortable in the main lobby visiting for hours. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!
We are middle class blue collar workers... so the price is acceptable . The room is the basic hotel room , but it was attractive and the temperature good, within our control preference.. We dont prefer individual cups of coffee, to be honest, I dont trust the cleanliness of any coffee maker other than my own. The same can be said of my belief that the bathroom has been truly cleaned as if it were my own. Thats me. In all fairness, the room and the bathroom looked good. The greatest deficit was outside the hotel - no place to relax and have a nice dinner and drinks if one chose to. The main food area was at least 20 minutes away. That is the only drawback to this hotel at This location.
I only have 2 complaints. 1st, our bed was uncomfortable. Bed needs to be replaced. 2nd, there was a birthday party full of kids. This caused the pool area to be crowded. We stayed here, because of the jacuzzi, but could not use it. It was crowded as well. Not the hotels fault. Just bad timing on our part.
My husband and I enjoyed our recent stay at this Holiday Inn Express. We were actually able to get the room to a comfortable temperature which was a challenge we have had during our last 3 hotel stays. The staff were friendly, the bed was comfortable, and the parking was close. It was a relaxing and uneventful stay.
We had a great experience. The check in staff was very attentive and was aware of what we needed and put us together for a couple of nights. the fitness room was great and the breakfast was one of the best in my experiences with a number of hotels. They had a variety of food and the place was very clean and quiet, even when it was full
The beds are standard for most hotels which are too hard for me.The breakfast was great. Many options. Seems like there was something for everyone. The pool was warm. High in chlorine. The hot tub could have been hotter for my taste but it was still relaxing. It was a great stay with minimal issue.
While my visit was short 4 hours sleep before going back to a job/project it was the front desk member who made me feel so welcome from when I checked in including bottled water for my CPAP to when I awoke and checked out making me a cup of coffee and having Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches available at 3:00 AM ready to start my day again. I believe here name is Britany and all I can say is she is so upbeat, pleasant and customer centric. Its people like Brittany who make this challenging time a pleasant experience. I slept like a baby too and only wish my visit was longer instead of 4 hours from check in to check out!
I travel a lot each year for business and I have to admit I got a little excited about the New Breakfast that was advertised. Disappointed to find out it was like every other Express breakfast. If Holiday Inn would just crack some eggs, the rest of the breakfast is doable. I digress, the hotel was in a great location for my work in the area. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean and quiet. If you have to be in the area, this is the place to be for sure.
Love Holiday inn Express! Staff friendly and professional. Rooms and accommodations were very clean, nice and comfortable. Continental breakfast good. Our room was close to lobby which had pros and cons. Pro being convenient, however every night and early morning waken up to loud talking and one early morning to 2 women arguing loudly or else would have given 5 stars.
Hotel room was clean. Bathroom gad plenty of towels and there was a no e selection of toiletries. There was a good choice of pillow types. The matress was too soft. The selection if tv channels was ok but missing a channel I wanted to watch ( amc). The price of hotel room fluxtua on the same day and that was strange. The price of the room was higher than I expected for the location
The check in went quickly although people were in line. The staff is very friendly. The rooms are very clean and organized with needed essentials. The cinnamon rolls are delicious as well as the entire breakfast. There are even take out bags if you do t have time to sit down for breakfast.
This is really a great hotel for a stopover, or even a longer stay. Its right off the Interstate and a great location. The staff was very friendly and professional and the Breakfast area was clean and always well maintained. Whoever was in charge of the breakfast area did an excellent job. I wish I would have gotten her name. Ive been at other HI Express Hotels where the food trays were empty for long periods of time but that was not the case here. I highly recommend this property if youre in the Danville area.
Don’t come here if you have children it was only 6 o clock this evening, I came to to this hotel to visit my nieces and nephews and the hotel associates threatened to kick us out because of complaints of our children running around in our room!!!! Not a place for kids to stay!!! Very rude!!!
Early on the morning of our arrival, my husband called to tell them we would be arriving before check in time and wondered if we could use the pool. They said they would try to have our room ready by the time we arrived, but we could use the pool regardless. When we arrived, our room was indeed ready. The pool facility was great. The water was warm, the hot hub was amazing. Our room was great! The only complaint I had right away would be that the baseboard tiles needed repair. The room was excellent otherwise. The couch was comfortable to sit on, the ottoman was on wheels and moved very easily out of the way. The TV was nice and big and our son enjoyed watching it while we got ready for a wedding that we were in town for. I didnt sleep well, however. The bed was hard, the pillows were too flat. I usually bring my own but I forgot it. I didnt sleep well and woke up with a stiff neck. My husband slept great and said the bed was comfy....just depends on your preference I guess. Our son seemed to sleep well on the pull out couch. Breakfast was ok. Just the norm pretty much...yogurt, pastries, cereal, toast and English muffins, fruit, biscuits and gravy. They did have eggs, sausage, and bacon as well. The eggs were just ok. Mostly everything was empty when we first got there but there was someone working on filling everything. The staff was extremely friendly! Always asking how our room was or how our stay was going. I even had the receptionist compliment my earrings and told me I was georgeous, which made my day since I pretty much just got up, brushed my teeth, and got dressed before we left. Didnt freshen up my makeup or my hair.
Now I have stayed here before a few years back coming in from another vacation route, and its improved. Staff last time couldnt stop personal phone calls to help customers. This staff was much more professional --- the room was fine, sleep was good, breakfast choices great and ready very early in the morn which is a plus, coffee seems to have improved recently; and the only real negative considering there are about 8 hotels at this exit is the total lack of restaurants. I mean there are none, except maybe a Mexican restaurant that had no cars giving me the feeling it wasnt open. Other than that it suited my needs for this stop.
We arrived late and room was ready and waiting. While we experienced a few issues with our stay, they were specific to the room we slept in and thus unbeknownst to staff. The front desk clerk was apologetic and helpful in trying to rectify the matter. Items were noted at check-out for management to review and thus be able to correct issues for future guests. We had hoped to utilize the pool and whirlpool but did not have time. The breakfast area was cozy and the food selection was good. The rooms were well appointed - possibly recently redecorated and upgraded. The hotel is convenient to the interstate but without too much road noise.
We have stayed here several times over the years and the front desk and the man that takes care of the breakfast are so great! So friendly, pleasant and accommodating. I have witnessed where there was noise on the first floor, but they were pleasant if it got too loud and let the guests know and was well-handled. We will definitely recommend this as a place to stay in town.
The hotel was clean and neat. Rooms were clean smelled fresh not stuffy. Grounds were well maintained. The best place to stay in Danville. Will be staying there every time I visit the area. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Far superior than the other hotels in the area.
This hotel is very nice for the price. Parking is well lighted, but somewhat limited. Rooms are clean and comfortable. The highlight of this hotel is the hot breakfast. Everyday the food was hot and delicious. And the coffee was the best I have ever had in a hotel! The variety of food was excellent too.
Everything was very good. There was an error on our reservation which made check-in somewhat confusing. The room was satisfactory considering the small amount of time we were there. I used the hot tub and pool facility on Sunday morning and the hot tub was cool. I always enjoy the breakfast at Holiday Inn Express - it just makes it easier to grab some coffee and something to eat before you hit the road or are off to the airport. We use this property before and now for a family visit. Congratulations to nieces, Morgan and Megan, on their graduation and bridal shower!
I have stayed at this location twice. Each time I felt the housekeeping suffered meeting the standards I expect to find in a Holiday Inn Express. The beds had a very bad body odor smell. The floors had obviously not been cleaned along baseboards and in corners for a very long time. I noticed this in hallways, elevators, and especially in my room.Matresses were not nearly as comfortable as expected. They need relpaced. Perhaps that would help with odor.On a good note, the staff was very accommodating, and breakfasr was great.
Glad we discovered this location! The staff were without exception friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was beyond expectations for this price range. Its also surprisingly quiet for being relatively close to the interstate. Be advised dining choices within walking distance are limited, but the front desk has an extensive list of nearby restaurants, many of whom deliver. We were so pleased with our stay when westbound that we booked a night on our return trip. We were equally satisfied with that stay as well.
Nice, clean hotel. Friendly staff. Rooms are modern. Hotel seemed pretty full and the internet was still pretty fast. Breakfast area was always clean and food was kept well stocked. Easy access from the interstate. Plenty of parking. Its not the hotels fault but I wish there was more food options in walking distance. The hotel is on the outskirts of town. Again not the hotels fault.
I usually travel for business and tend to stay in nicer hotels. The Holiday Inn Express in Danville IL was truly a pleasant surprise. The free breakfast was a great value and perfect for the active traveler. The gym was perfect to keep you moving on down times, and the pool looked great. Beyond all that, all the staff were fantastic...from the front desk to the cleaning staff--truly nice people! Enjoy your stay.
We came to visit with our friends. Ended up playing cards in their lobby. The staff was friendly and very helpful. We played for hours, ordered pizza..and the staff even brought us out paper plates, forks, and napkins as soon as they saw the pizza delivery guy. We had a great time.
Covid 19 has made lodging choices important. The Danville Holiday Inn Express is clean and hospitable. The times allow visits to friends and family only and it is nice to come back to a hotel that takes pandemic restrictions seriously. The breakfast is suitable given the conditions of the times. Well be back
We met my mom & brother 1/2 way, to switch mom (85 year old), between our homes. we always get 2 rooms.... we decided to stay in Danville, at this hi express. its a great choice for us. the front desk staff is always welcoming when we arrive. we really enjoy the hot tub. its clean, plenty of towels, and great temperature. its a big part why we choose this hotel...the comfy beds are great! we love hi express, because having breakfast together before we leave, always starts our day off grand! plus, the ladies taking care of breakfast bar here, are very attentive & friendly, great job! we do notice renovations, and one of our rooms had been renovated/updated....so, we know next time we go back renovations will be complete. renovations are great! I also have to say, the hotel was quiet, so, workers, keep up the great quiet job on continuing to make this hotel the best!! thank you.... :) :) :) :)
The girl working the front desk allowed about 25 drunk 20 year olds sit in the lobby partying and yelling all night. I had already called at 11pm bc it sounded like the people above us was sumo wrestling. Then at 12am there was still people going up the halls yelling and being rude, outside yelling.. At 1am, i exploded. Enough was enough. I went and told the drunks myself to either go to bed or take it to the bar. Now see, how hard was that? Problem solved. Not by the hotels doing for sure. Other than that, at least the room was clean.
I had a problem with bed bugs!!!! The manager was very rude to me and my 87 year old mother, there was a bed bug that crawled on her arm from sitting in one of the chairs on her room, whether it came from the lobby where we had a nice pizza party with our family, then after the pizza party we went to our room and was in there no more than 10 minutes when the bed bug incident happened , My mom was frantic and wanted to get out of the hotel as quick as possible, I went immediately to the front desk with the bug and told the staff member what had happened, he tried numerous times to get a hold of the manager and he was said to be non reachable, but I was told he would be in in the morning, so we said that we r checking out and would return in the morning for a refund..... we came back in the morning the manager was very rude and said they would have there okin guy there in the morning, all I wanted was a refund at that point we didn’t stay in the room, where they could of easily rented that room out again, my 87 year old mom lives on a fixed income and we had to pay for another motel....and still refuse to give our money back.... why would we bring this all on to ourselves if there was no bed bug..... just give us our money back!!!!!!!!!!!
Our stay at this hotel was a pleasant experience. The hotel is clean throughout and our room was clean and well-serviced. We have a sleep number bed at home and are used to being comfortable. The regular mattress did not disappoint us here. The pool area was clean and the pool water was warm, a huge plus!
Pool was closed for 3 of our nights because the chlorine levels were too high. One day we had to go into another room that housekeeping had open so we could “steal” some towels for our room. We questioned one of the housekeeping staff and we were told we were a “stayover” and our room wasn’t on the list to be serviced that day. When we asked to have our room serviced she asked what we needed and just handed us the stuff we needed (we ended up replacing all the bedding and making our own bed that day). That was the only bad day with them, the rest of the days they did a good job.
This hotel is what I would expect from a Holiday Inn Express. The Building, common areas were clean and well maintained. The room was comfortable, newly furnished with a comfortable bed and pillows. The bathroom was well lit with newer style fixtures. The continental breakfast was better that most hotels and offered some low carb diet options such as: eggs, sausage, bacon, and yogurt. The staff was courteous and professional. I did experience some issues with my internet service on my particular computer, which may not be a factor with a normal non LAN type setup.
Everything is fabulous accept no change at the front desk this morning! Everything in the hotel takes quarters only! Friendly faces very courteous staff! 1:18 p.m. 4 hours later quarters are available at the front desk so no harm no foul only a short wait and clothes are drying! Everyone has an off day exclamation point continental breakfast is great theres something for everyone!
The hotel is clean and comfortable and I would stay again but never ask for or expect a wake up call. The phone in the room didn’t work in that we could not reach the front office or set a wake up call. We walked back to the front desk and told them and requested a wake up call. They said “oK” and set up the wake up call which never happened- good thing we didn’t have a flight to catch. I did tell the man at the desk who gave me a discount in the room but didn’t seem particularly concerned that this was an issue.
This was a last minute trip (which I seem to do all the time). I went on line and was able to book without any problems. I arrived 1 hour prior to check in, however, I was able to check in without any issue! This was good because it gave me a little time to get some rest after my drive. Breakfast the next morning was quite a pleasant surprise. I am a very healthy eater and I was so happy to be able to eat turkey sausage.....made my day. A little thing to some but a big deal for me. I did not know that Holiday Inn Express was so inviting and wonderfully staffed. I will definitely use this hotel again whether it be in Danville or another city. I dont require much, but I need things to be clean and inviting.
The hotel was as expected for a Holiday Inn Express. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Room and common areas were clean and I had absolutely no issues with my stay. I only wish that Holiday Inn Express would expand their coffee selection, since there is only one and its really not good. I normally take one to go and dump it as soon as I come across a good truck stop to get better coffee.
All of the staff we met were friendly. The hot breakfast selections were hot. The young woman in charge of breakfast is very cheerful. The maintenance man is friendly. The beds are comfortable. The staff at the front desk at check in offered us snacks or points because we were elite members.
Our stay was uneventful. Typical HI Express room, slightly worn but very clean. Attractive lobby and dining area. The staff really makes this hotel. They were pleasant on check-in, and immediately changed our room when I mentioned a leak in the bathroom. I thought it a bit over priced for the Danville area, but they seem to be full most of the time so the market bears their pricing out.
We have stayed at many Holiday Inn Express Hotels. This one had incredibly friendly, helpful staff who made us feel extremely welcome. Upon check in, we received a great recommendation of where to go for a late dinner. The location was near where we needed to be with family, as well as on a road that made it easy to take an early morning walk. The breakfast assortment was pretty good for this type of hotel, and the breakfast attendant kept things neat and clean with food containers full.
Everything was as you would expect from this calibur of hotel chain. Everyone was nice especially the front desk help (Allie) and breakfast attendant and the food was good. The pancake maker was a hit. Only complaint I had was how incredibly hard the bed was but I am spoiled with mine at home.
We love Holiday Inn Express and always seek out those hotels when we travel. Typically the rooms are perfect. We did have a problem with our room at this location however. The air conditioner / heater unit buzzed all night and was quite loud. We turned it off, but the wind whistled through some kind of vent and sounded like a loud whining noise. We had difficulty sleeping. The refrigerator also made a loud ticking sound. That being said, we told the staff the next morning and they were wonderful. The wrote down our complaints and promised to have maintenance take care of it. We only stayed the one night so we dont know if they actually followed through, but we felt assured that it would be taken care of. Im sure other rooms did not have these same problems and I certainly wouldnt let this one time experience keep me from staying there again.
Im running our of definitive statements to explain that our recent visit to the Holiday Inn Express in Danville, Illinois, was a pleasant one based on the excellent attention given by all the employees....reception/checkout, breakfast preparations, cleaning staff....and that is, and should be, the focus of this review. Yes, the room, bed, towels, sheets, TV, closet space, all met the standards of comfort and convenience. Combine that with overall cleanliness and it makes for a good travelers experience.
I have stayed at many holiday in express locations around the country. This location was not the worst that I have visited, but it definitely was far from the best. For example, there was a dirty pair of jeans were left in one of the dressers. To me that says that the room was not thoroughly cleaned prior to my arrival. in addition, the bathroom shower could have used some updating. I even spotted some dirt in the shower. I usually bring my own Clorox wipes for the tv remote because it is flu season and they are usually the most unclean part of a hotel. When i cleaned the remote with a Clorox wipe, it was absolutely filthy. The breakfast was a little stale when i went to eat. I do want to note that didnt go to breakfast at the last minute so it should not have been stale. I have had much better breakfast experiences at other holiday inn express chains. The staff was pretty friendly so that was one nice aspect of the hotel.
Nice clean room great service. Friendly staff. Clean breakfast area plenty of seating if you have a large family. Pool and Jacuzzi were clean and, nice and refreshing after a long day. We have stay here before and will stay here again. We would recommend this hotel to our friends and family.
I had to spend a rainy night in Danville after working and driving all day. The front desk was very friendly, helped me find somewhere good to order food from (since I didnt want to go back out in the dreadful rain!). The room was clean, smelled clean and the furniture was very comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was great! If I were to complain about anything, it was hard to see the TV when I was working on my laptop on the desk in the room. I think the refrid and its cabinet should have been placed closer to the closet/entrance/bathroom rather than between the desk and the TV. Otherwise, it was a very pleasant experience! Thank you Holiday Inn!
Were driving through the area and the other hotel choices were slim, and most had bad or questionable reviews. This Holiday Inn was a very pleasant surprise. All updated, clean, and comfy bed, pillows and bed linens. I did not go down to breakfast, but my husband said it was a pretty decent breakfast bar, and the coffee was actually very good.
We stayed one night and I found the front desk staff very nice and helpful. The room was clean and everything in working order. The breakfast in the morning was not very good, mostly due to lack of service. Drink machine had issue not adding water to the mixes and the staff had no idea how to fix. The hot food was empty for the 15-20 minutes we were there and the trash needed emptied. Just needs more attention and care at breakfast. Overall, would rate the stay as good and we would stay there again in the future.
I’ve stayed here several times. Always pleased. Person in room above me sounded like an elephant walking. Very loud footsteps but no voice or tv noise. Just a very heavy walker. I wasn’t asleep yet but couldn’t sleep til tromping stopped!!! Otherwise everything was comfortable . My first choice when I travel. Texas last year and Michigan this spring.
The hotel was very comfortable, the bed, and the pillows were very comfortable. The breakfast room very clean, the kitchen help were very nice, answering to all our needs. From the desk clerk to the cleaning help they were all very friendly and very helpful for our needs. Yes, when I return to Danville, I will definitely stay at the Holiday Inn Express and Suites Danville! It was a very pleasant experience.
Good quite place to stay. It is clean and kept nice inside and out. Staff is very nice and helpful. Breakfast isnt to be ready until 6, But was ready before I walked in before 6. So the person doing the breakfast was ready with everything before 6. And thats a great thing!
I stay in the area regularly because of family in the area. You have the most comfortable beds and the best variety for breakfast of all the hotels I have stayed. I was willing to pay more than other local hotels because of your beds and your breakfast.Your service staff was excellent. They were engaging and willing to spend a few minutes talking to us. They made the stay friendly even though we were there for a sad occasion.
Enjoyed my stay here for 4 nights. The room was clean, service was excellent on all aspects, bed was comfortable. Some people have complained about the railroad tracks being so close. After I read reviews before my stay, I was expecting the RR tracks to be right next to the hotel, which is not the case. They are actually a little ways away and train noise was not a problem for me. Any noise from any train that went by was certainly not enough to keep me awake and the track is used very little. I would stay here again. The only negative was a large sticky spot on the carpet in the main walk area. Other than that, stay was excellent!
All of the staff members with whom we interacted were very polite and made sure that we had all the things we needed to enjoy our stay. Staff was very helpful in providing directions to nearby shopping and dining. The breakfast options were great and the lady serving the breakfast area was super nice and made sure that all food items were stocked and ready for guests. Check-in and check-out was quick and easy.
I was in town with my son for a funeral. I found this room on the IHG app but called ahead to verify the room and late check in. Michael answered the phone. I told him the purpose of my call, he replied that he had a customer at the desk, then asked to put me on hold and finish up with the check in, then he could give me his undivided attention. I thought this was VERY professional!! After a short hold, he came back on the line and verified he had the room. We discussed the price, he told me he could not match the app price at the desk and recommend that I book through the app, which I did. After arriving, we found Michael to be even more friendly in person, yet stil professional. Great experience at check in!!
The hotel itself is like many IHG properties. There are only 5 hotels in the area, so your choices are limited. As a priority club member I have to admit that the I often pay a premium to keep the loyalty alive. This hotel had some minor Physical issues that I dont mind personally but seems like a waste when you are staying at one of the highest priced hotels in the area. Just does not seem like money is being put back into the property. The front desk and breakfast attendant did a good job and overall being treated well makes up for the shortcomings.
We were driving from Minnesota to North Carolina and back. We liked the property. We had stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Champagn in the past, but they were full. We liked this property, but are concerned that there are few eating establishments close to the hotel. Other than that, we liked our experience.
Stay at HIExp whenever available. This hotel was below average. Check-in staff not wearing masks correctly, sloppily dressed, and we got a non-smoking room that smelled of smoke. Too tired to change rooms. And Im not entirely sure our bill reflected any IHG membership/AAA/AARP/Veteran discounts.
First thing I like to look at is the workout area. When your on the road weekly it is always nice to have a good gym to get a workout in. This Hotel in Danville did not disappoint. With updated equipment and a set of dbs that go up to 50lbs you had a chance to get a good sweat in. Staff was very friendly and had a good recommendation on food choices. Stay at this hotel if you need a good nights rest. Right off the highway.
Breakfast was served until 10 variety of options so I could check out in the morning ready for travel. The room was clean and quiet so that I could get a good nights sleep. The staff was friendly and helpful was anything I needed. I would definitely recommend staying here and I will consider Holiday Inn e Express to be one of my top choices in future travels.
The hotel is ok but expensive for the service and accommodations provided. The room had an odor and furnishings were blah. The pool looked gross. The exercise room equipment needs updating. The gal at the front desk on a personal phone call most of the time. Made us wait. Breakfast quality was lacking. Wireless internet was overloaded and didnt work. The bed was ok and I slept fine.
We have stayed at this location several times and since it is being remodeled is is very clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. We did not use the breakfast buffet this time but in the past it has been OK.The only comment I could offer is that the tile trim in our bathroom was not finished and the cracks needed to be caulked. This is a minor complaint and may be on the hotels to do list.
Customer service was good until we needed blankets for the pull out sofa bed. First there were no pillows or blankets for the sofa pull out bed in the room. I went to the front desk to ask for pillows and blankets. I got pillows but no blankets. When I asked them for blankets they said they didnt have any blankets and that I had to use the blankets that are on the bed.
Desk rep particularly friendly and helpful regarding questions I had regarding finding services in the area. She was also super helpful and patient when I had other small questions later on. The breakfast food was also particularly good. Because I eat a vegan diet, my choices were limited. But the other non-vegan choices were many and appeared to be fresh and of high quality. Also, the place was very quiet!
Very nice hotel, GREAT pool and hot tub. Was a comfortable and quiet spot to get some quality sleep and relax. It is outside of town, not any fast food places or restaurants yet (only a Big Boy across road)..but hotels are popping up here and we assume eating places will soon follow. We had to get back in car and drive several miles again, to find place to get food..but it was early in the evening and we had time. Next time we travel thru here, we probably wont even recognize it, cause it is building up fast. The pool was just right temperature and so relaxing...the TV channels were good,,,and the breakfast was everything you could want! So, it was a good choice for us. (we stayed here about 2yrs ago, we remember that this was only hotel around, now you should see the hotels popping up next door, it will be a great stopping point for travelers real soon!)
We arrived very late at night but had confirmed our reservation. Upon arrival, the front desk was not attended and we had to wait probably 5 to 8 minutes for the front desk attendant to return. In fairness, it was about 11:00 PM and she had posted a sign saying she was helping another guest and would be right back. She seemed a bit frazzled in both appearance and organization. I prefer that if a knit (golf) shirt is worn as a uniform shirt, the shirt should be tucked in and a belt worn. But thats just me. We got checked in and thats what counts. The room was clean, comfortable. The breakfast in the morning was outstanding. And so was the breakfast attendant; very attentive, friendly and pleasant. We will stay here again the next time we are in the area.
I checked in to this hotel after leaving a nearby competitor for having dirty rooms. I even mentioned this to the lady who checked me in. On the way to my room and just outside my door the hallway reaked of smoke. I was nervous, but once in the room I was pleased to find it was cleaner than the other hotel and did not smell of smoke. I dont always check the bed when I get in a room, especially at a Holiday Inn Express, but due to my earlier experience in the day I felt the need. I could not believe what I was seeing!!!! I had a room with double queens and both beds had body hair all over in the sheets and on the pillow cases. There was even noticeable dead skin in the sheets. The linens had not been changed!!! I called the front desk to inform her about this and asked her to come look so she knew I wasnt lying. She said she believed me and couldnt come up because she was the only one there. I wanted to leave but was tired and just wanted a bed to sleep in. She gave me an upgraded room and the bed was fresh and clean, although that room smelled funny and felt dirty compared to the first room. I have never had such bad luck at a hotel, not to mention two different hotels in one day! Maybe it is just the quality to expect of hotels in Danville? I really dont know, but my suggestion is to stay in another town if possible. I will never be staying in that town again.
Bed not bad, room was nice but druing remodel? all baseborders were bare in room and in halls. the bathroom door in our room would not shut. twisted frame? Pool was the part we were looking forward to the most. the 2 of us and kids looking to get in pool and relax, but not so. the pool room was really hot felt like 90 plus degrees. i was sweating just walking in the room pool temp was ok but couldnt stand being in room for more than 5 mins. others in our group said there rooms had no problems other than no baseboarders along walls
The room was comfortable and we enjoyed our stay. Had one night when someone had the wrong room (1:00a.m.) and banged on our door, he took the do not disturb sign - had a hard time falling back to sleep that night. Was not happy that the hotel charged the card that I reserved the room on, rather than the card presented to them on the day of check in (which they swiped on their computer) - this resulted in my account being overdrawn and multiple overdraft charges that the bank would not refund, even after I explained what happened. Not sure who to contact at Holiday Inn to see if they would re-pay the overdraft charges.
Cant recall ever assigning an Average rating previously to a Holiday Inn Express property, but this one earned it. To be candid, my wife & I ended up at this hotel #via an IHG chat recommendation# due, in large part, to Homecoming weekend for the Illini #not our reason for travel#. In general, this property has a dated ambience and would benefit from some improved housekeeping / updating. Children ruled the morning hallways, and we get that there are limitations in terms of what hotel representatives can do when parents fail. Breakfast was fine and the eating area is nicely designed, but was untidy #overfilled trash bin, etc.#. Worse, when we arrived the afternoon prior, the first floor public restroom had not been cleaned. Thanks for accommodating our early arrival, but why not leave a good first impression on those folks as well as your late departing guests? Unfortunately, well drive by to another IHG property next time we visit.
I have stayed at this Hotel in the past and not had any problems. The 2nd night I noticed many small ants crawling around the seal of the refrigerator and the coffee maker. The coffee pot had not been cleaned and had a small amount of coffee in the bottom. I reported the ants to the front desk and received an apology and was asked if it would be OK if my room was treated the following morning. When I came back to my room that evening the ants were still there and the coffee pot still had not been cleaned. I also noticed when I was in the shower that my soap was leaving clean streaks on the shower walls. I am not impressed with the cleaning staff. I have always had good experiences with Holiday Inn Express and will continue to stay at other Holiday Inn Express Hotels, but will not stay at this one again.
We have stayed at the Danville property before. The staff is very helpful and willing to go out of their way to please the guests. When we visit our son again we will stay at the Holiday Inn Express even though there is other hotels closer to his home. The breakfast was hot and the hostess was very nice and helpful. The owner took time to speak to us and inquire as to our stay at his hotel.Very good place to stay!
This hotel is worth the extra cost.. to get the extra Bennies. The staff was very courteous. Our room was large and nicely decorated. I appreciated the courteous breakfast hostess.. she had everything ready and HOT.We plan to stop there again when we travel down South.
I am not one who usually complains but this last stay was not what I was hoping for. First thing is there was no luggage rack in my room, I always use them and without one left me with my luggage on the desk. Second there was alot of dust in the cubby space on the bottom of the night stands...yuck! and my last complaint is the pool/spa. My Husband and I go to Attica once a year to the Badlands for our anniversary and stay at the Danville location during our weekend, so needless to say I wanted a little of relax time after a long day of ATVS. We went to go for a swim that afternoon and the pool was really full of screaming kids...witch is fine, I have kids too, I get it. But when we checked again 2 hours later they were all still there going crazy. So we figured we would call the pool a loss and sit in the hot tub before bed. We went back down to the pool area at 7 and the pool and hot tub were both full of kids...1hour later, same thing. We kept checking to see if they had left but never did. Most hotels have a 8pm kids out of pool/spa area. Wish this hotel did the same. On the good side..breakfast was awesome!
Stayed at this hotel for one night. Property and hotel were clean, staff nice, breakfast staff was great and kept everything well stocked even though we arrived near close time. One minor complaint is the train the tends to wake you up but other than that, great experience! If we are ever in the area again we will stay at this location.
This Is my favorite Holiday Inn Express. I’ve stayed here multiple times and always had a consistent, friendly, clean experience. As a business traveler I stay in 40 different Holiday Inn Express each year. You barely even have to ask and they anticipated your needs. Thanks
Was very happy with the room (cleanliness, comfort of the bed and pillows) at the Danville, IL Holiday Inn Express and Suites. The staff was very helpful both in the evening and next morning. Breakfast was great - there was a good variety of food available including small omelets!
My first room had flies in it that I tried to kill and bruised my eye as a result. I was moved to a second room. The rooms and the hotel could use a really deep cleaning. The rooms are clean on the surface, but when you look further they just clean the bare minimums. The night stands, desk, and other fixtures were very dusty. The bathroom mirror had toothpaste stains, and the coffee pot (which was in the bathroom) was dirty. By the way, for sanitary reasons alone, the coffee pot should not be in the bathroom. The beds were made very sloppy. They are either understaffed or the staff is lazy.On a positive note, the breakfast was good with a nice variety. The coffee was horrible though.
Hotel is very clean quiet . If you are a traveler, I can honestly say that I can always count on getting a good night sleep. You can also count on getting a great variety of breakfast food to get your day started. I don’t mind going away for business travels knowing that I am at a Holiday Inn express.
Only 2 issues. One was getting locked out of the pool. The staff was amazing. Sure thought my grandkids were going to cry but they got it open and the kids were able to swim before checking out. Issue 2, we were on the first floor and the people above us were running back and forth and the sound traveled quite a bit.
Members of our high school class gathered to celebrate our collective 60th birthdays. We were able to meet in the lobby for pre-dinner BYOB drinks and socializing. It was clean and inviting and we were able to situate ourselves away from guests entering/exiting the hotel. We all agreed we would stay again for our next reunion..
As a traveler thru the Midwest and mostly at Holiday Inn Express, the Danville facility is hands down the best one I have stayed at. I arrived early, they checked to see if my room was ready and had me checked in before they found out if it was available. Friendly staff (front desk) (housekeeping) Breakfast bar stocked, a smile by the hostess..internet worked, just a great facility...I have to drive a little farther for business for staying here...but it is worth it to me...
We were there only one night we enjoy our stay at the Holiday in we have stayed in this one years ago the staff is very friendly. The lady that prepared the breakfast was very helpful and nice . Then we checked out the gentleman was very nice rooms clean we enjoyed our stay!!!
Checked into room and after getting undressed to freshen up and take a shower, I was standing by the bed and suddenly felt stinging sensation on my feet and ankles. I lifted the corner of the mattress and noticed about 20-30 small bugs crawling around between the mattress and the bed spring/frame. I believe there were more in the carpet, but I cant say for sure because I quickly redressed, repacked and left the room. I do not believe they were bed bugs. They looked more like fleas or some other biting insect. It was April so mosquitoes werent out yet. I was given another room, an apology and extra reward points. Not sure the amount of points equaled the appalling experience. I never write reviews or complaints so this is not just another fussy guest review. Just want to state facts so others can make an informed decision when choosing whether to stay at this location. The overall cleanliness of the first room and the second room were below IHG Holiday Inn brand standards!
Nice room, very clean. Beds were comfortable and check in was a breeze. We had the pool to ourselves and it felt amazing! The hot tub could have been nicer as far as the seating (only one height so I had to lean down in the cement seats to get the jets on my shoulders) but it still felt amazing! I will take it any day over how most hotels dont have one. We went in the gym to look around and it had a full weight machine, which I dont usually see. It was small if there would have been a lot of oeople, but it was empty because it was a slow night. They had 1 elliptical, 1 stationary bike, and 1 treadmill. They also had medicine balls, free weights and the big blow up exercise ball. There was a scale and water in the gym also. It was nice and well kept. There were outlets on the lamps that made it nice to charge things. The internet was also the fastest I have ever had in a hotel room. The shower pressure was also the best I have had.We had pizza delivered from Caseys and it was delicious. They had 24 hour coffee, tea, and hot chocolate in the lobby. The lobby was decorated and very homey. They had several couches. There was a business center, but we did not use it. I liked that they had two well stocked vending machines as well. Now, my only complaint. I read the reviews on here and chose this hotel over the one next door because of the breakfast reviews. It went from 6-9:30. We did sleep in until 9, so that may have influenced the food too. However, the eggs tasted really rubbery, the pancake machine was messing up for people in front of me, so I didnt get to try that (which I was looking forward too). I will add that the worker was trying to get it going and even had the maintance guy with her. They may have fixed it, but I went and sat down. I liked that they had salt and pepper at the tables. They had bacon, although I didnt find it to be very good. I wanted to have biscuits and gravy, but the biscuits felt rock hard (probably from being out there since 6) and the gravy was about gone. I wanted to have toast, but there was no bread left, only bagels. I asked about more, but she said they were out. The orange juice was just a tad over room temperature, so even that didnt do it for me. They did have ceral, oatmeal, and fruit (no oranges) but I didnt have any of those. At 9 when I sat down to eat, I heard the worker ask the guy at the desk if she should make more eggs. They were pretty much gone and there was still 30 minutes left for breakfast. He told her no, and I found that bad. If It is supposed to go until 9:30, I think they should have all the same stuff as they do at 6 and It should be somewhat fresh. So this was the worst hotel breakfast experience I have ever had. Thats usually one of my favorite things. It was a very slow night for them, and we did wait until 9, so it may have just been a bad time because of that.Even with the while breakfast deal, I would still stay here again. I would definitely try again to see if it was just because of the day and time. All the workers were nice, and the hotel was very nice and clean. We were not disturbed by anyone and it was quiet.
I always prefer IHG hotels, and this location is very nice for business or leisure. The staff is accommodating and polite, and maintenance and food services were on par. My crew and I were very pleased with our stay, as we work long hard hours and quality is something we always appreciate. Thank you again!
In the past month, we have stayed at 5 Holiday Inn Express Hotels in North Carolina, Michigan and Illinois. All have been clean, quiet and comfortable and the staff have been very friendly and helpful at all of these places, with exception of one desk staff employee. The overnight front desk employee at theHIE in Danville on Saturday, August 8, 2015, was unpleasant and extremely rude. My family was in town for a wedding and my wife and I were traveling with three girls ages 15, 14 ad 9 years. With my three children, we returned to the Hotel around 11pm from the wedding while my wife chose to remain with the brides family at the wedding a little longer. During August, HIE was featuring pancakes at night until midnight and my 9 year old decided she wanted some 11pm pancakes. I allowed my 14 and 15 year old to accompany her to the pancake machine in the breakfast area while I waited in the room. When they returned, the told me that the woman at the front desk came over and watched them make the pancakes, no offer to help but instead said, youre probably not even going to eat those and people shouldnt waste food. My kids reported this to me and unfortunately I brushed this off thinking that maybe this clerk was just annoyed that the kids were walking the halls at 11pm unaccompanied by an adult. We all went to bed and my wife returned later that evening. In the morning, my wife relayed to me an incident that occurred the previous evening around 1:30am when she returned to the hotel with the brides parents and 3 other adults from the wedding party, She said that they were waiting for another family to arrive from the wedding and sat at a table in the breakfast area. Within a minute or two, this clerk walked over to the group and said, This is going to end one of two ways - either you go to your rooms now or I am calling the police! The brides mother became angry and demanded an apology for this rudeness to which she was told by the clerk that they had been stomping through the hallways, yet this party had just arrived from the wedding. Needless to say, this did not go over well and the party did retreat to a hotel room in order to remove a very angry mother of the bride away from this clerk. This is very unfortunate and a true anomaly from any stay that we have had at any other Holiday Inn Express. Had i not been so pleased with the my previous stays, this would have been my last stay at an HIE - anywhere! As it stands, I will continue to stay with your company as I truly believe this was not representative of your company. Now, I cant say the same for the mother of the bride or anyone else that was in that bridal party..... I think someone needs some additional training in customer service in Danville.
I have been on business for the government for the last several months and have stayed at several other hotels in the same price range as the Holiday Inn Express. This hotel was heads above the other hotel brands I have stayed at. The common area was updated, clean, and very attractive. I would say the gas fireplace is perhaps the best I have seen. The breakfast had a variety of fresh fruit and hot choices. Two mornings I had to leave very early for work and the hotel furnished me with some breakfast before the breakfast area even opened. When I returned back to Chicago I emailed my supervisor and requested that all of my hotels be Holiday Inn Express hotels if they are available in my work area.
The place was ok. Room was relatively clean though a bit dated feeling. Bathroom was mostly fine though I hate grungy looking grout in tile. HVAC was primitive and unpleasant to listen to which is bad because I need the sound to fall asleep. The breakfast spread was simple but not bad. I will say the vending machines were useless. 3 choices, all soda. Ugh.
This hotel met all my expectations for Holiday Inn Express. Friendly staff, good breakfast, great sleeping room and bath. Only things I could suggest to improve a Holiday Inn Express stay is a better selection of Kuerig cups, although the current brand is ok, and a good hard cheddar cheese on the breakfast bar. I highly recommend this hotel.
Breakfast was not fully cooked in the morning, room was nice and comfortable, check in was easy and gentlemen at front desk was helpful even helped my father take our bags to the room as I had to rush to a meeting, we wanted to leave him a tip he said he couldnt/wouldnt accept it was only his pleasure to help, hotel was nice and quiet, cant wait to visit when I return to town recently moved to Kansas stay in a lot of hotels lately bed here was great, front desk Joshua was friendly and accommodating, hard to find now days! Thanks a lot!
The hotel is a little older and could use major updating, but is clean and the staff is excellent. The only issue I have is with priority club itself changing their criteria for rewarding points so that I now have to notify the manager every week so he can contact Priority Club every week to get the status of the stays changed from non qualifying stay to points.
We had stayed at this facility two days earlier and it was excellent. When we reviewed our bill this time they had omitted the AAA/AARP discount. In addition the breakfast seemed to be out of date, etc. The mini omelets that I normally love were crusty around the edge like they were reheated from another day. The bananas were so ripe they were 3/4 black. Empty cereal was being refilled after we had gone through the line. None of this is typical of multiple experiences Ive had at multiple Holiday Inn Express locations.
This hotel exceeded my expectations! The staff were very helpful, it was a great experience. I enjoyed staying at this hotel and will recommend it and the Holiday Inn Express to friends. Thank you for providing a comfortable, well-equipped room (TV, internet all good) and great breakfast!
My brothers and nephew stayed here while visiting the Purdue Campus and attending the Illini/Purdue football game. We were very satisfied with the hotel and all of the staff were very helpful and friendly. We would definitely stay here again if we are ever in the area again.
The hotel was nice, but unfortunately the hot tub was out of service. It would have been nice to have a choice of pillows; not everyone likes feather pillows. The most unsettling thing about our stay was when we asked the staff while checking out to apply our AARP discount since it was not applied to our bill. Much to our surprise, the attendant said they couldnt correct our bill. We even had to ask for a paid receipt. In my opinion, this is not the proper way to treat your guests much less a IHG rewards club member. Not sure that I would recommend this to others.
This location was good for us because we have relatives in the next town over----Covington Indiana. It made it easy to come and go. Of all the hotels/Motels in this area, This is by far the nicest. The staff were all very friendly, and the breakfast was yummy. Thanks for a great stay.
The online profile of this hotel was much better than what we found in person. The room wasnt cleaned very well and then common areas were filthy. This hotel services and industrial park and not much attention is given to upkeep. I used points of the stay, but still not a good value.
The hotel in Danbury was very clean and the staff courteous and friendly. We appreciated the coffee available and the complimentary hot breakfast in the morning, especially the turkey sausage because we dont eat pork. Would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling in the area.
We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express to attend a party in the area. The hotel had a refrigerator and microwave that we used to hold party snacks and other treats. We also enjoyed the pool, hot tub, and breakfast room the next morning. A nice clean facility with very pleasant staff
I stayed at the HI Express in Danville, IL during a business trip and was able to relax and unwind at the end of the day in the comfort of my room. There arent many restaurant choices in the immediate vicinity so it was great to at least have a good breakfast available in the morning before heading out.The staff was very polite, helpful, and accommodating.
Staff did not change sheets during 5 day stay, and they are wearing out. Floor was vacuumed only once and not too thoroughly. Bed usually made casually. We have stayed here for years and it seems the management is cutting all corners possible, some to the detriment of cleanliness.Breakfast is good and hot, thanks Nellie. No goodie bag for Priority Club members, such as other properties give upon check-in.
My disabled and elderly in laws were in town for their only son’s funeral. We asked for a handicap room on the first floor and were promised one. When we arrived they put them ion the second floor and basically said take it or leave it. My father in law has Alzheimer’s and cannot be near stairs. The night manager ignored us and when we tried to talk to him was rude and stared at his computer instead of listening to us. This is how we treat our elderly? If I owned this hotel, he would have been fired immediately. We will never return here. I am a rewards card holder.
Older motel and it shows. Wallpaper in room buckling. Desk chair needed replacing and even replacement was only fair. Housekeeping very inconsistent. 4 of 5 night no cloth bathmat. 3 of 4 days coffeepot not cleaned and ashtray not emptied. Not what I expect from a HI Express. Staff was very good. Friendly . Breakfast was good.
I had a nice stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Danville, IL. I was in the area for a wedding and chose to stay here as it seemed like one of the nicer places. My room was quite large and everything was very clean. I think the price was a little too high considering the area but I enjoyed my stay.
Although this hotel is clean and the staff is friendly, the maid service forgot to clean my room so I returned to dirty towels and an unmade bed.The breakfast is poor if you are looking for healthy options. Instant oatmeal and rubber-like eggs, sugary pastries. I would not recommend this hotel.
I visited friends in the area and stayed for a long weekend at the Danville Holiday Inn Express. I have stayed at other hotels in Danville and this is the best hotel in the area, in my opinion. There are many good choices for breakfast, although the cinnamon rolls are still the best! The room was nice and the TV choices were good. I will definitely stay here again.
I had to travel to Danville IL as my daughter who attends college there had to have emergency surgery. I called the hotel directly and the gal that I spoke with was VERY friendly and helpful. The process of reserving the room was simple and efficient. I arrived that same night - pretty late and check in was super easy

2022-06-13I was in town for an Event and stayed at Holiday Inn Express and Suites in Danville. The room was extremely clean and quiet. The front staff were very friendly and helpful. My friend lost her charger and they offered to let her borrow one. The manager was very accommodating to our requests. The location is very convenient and they have a great breakfast buffet. I would highly recommend staying here if you are in the area.

2022-06-09Key/card didnt work in the first room. The attendant was going to let me in with the master key. I inquired how I would get back in if I left. She said to leave the door ajar. I didnt feel comfortable with this so she got me another room. Hotel phone started ringing several times at 4 a.m. but when I answered there wasnt anyone there. Went to the front desk and was told they werent trying to reach me. I decided to check on my car and there were a couple people sitting in a vehicle next to my car. When they saw me they started up their car and left. It just wasnt a great experience.

2021-12-09This is one of my favorite hotels-superclean, well maintained, with a great staff that go the extra mile. This holiday is one of the great older style Holidays with quiet rooms, thick walls, hot showers.large parking spaces, and contrôlable À/C with constant fan-no need for a box fan. The staff always has breakfast prepared a bit before 6 for those of us with early departures-the breakfast is hot and convenient with great hot cinnamon rolls. Pick this hotel and you won’t be disappointed.

2022-05-21My grandparents stayed there a couple nights ago. They made reservations and once they got there they didn’t have any rooms clean. They had to wait two hours for a room. My grandparents told the lady at the front desk the tv wasn’t working and she said “oh the tv doesn’t work sorry” and the overnight staff was very rude about everything. My grandpa asked for the front desk lady to wake him up at a certain time so he could remember to take his medicine and she said there was an alarm clock in there but it didn’t work. My grandmother said the breakfast was great and the daytime shift was very polite.

2022-05-08Great location and the staff were friendly. Only if they could curb their guest from smoking marijuana in the building. Other then that a great stay.

2022-05-15Room as every other hotel in town are overpriced for the dated rooms. The room I am in is nicer than I expected, but you have to travel into town to really find anything consumer friendly.

2022-04-10Double charged me and I had to spend 2 hours recouping money I had already booked and ran another card and charged. Was a huge mess - wouldnt stay with them again because they need to cater to customers and help them solve issues instead of act like its our fault for booking getting a confirmation number and running another card and charging again like we caused that... shesh

2021-12-02After an exhausting day riddled with unexpected complications, walking in without a reservation and finding the lobby beautifully decorated for Christmas and friendly helpful staff was such a relief. Our room was spacious and inviting. And the free hot breakfast the next morning was an added bonus. We highly recommend.

2021-11-10Wasn’t perfect, we had an issue with our room. However, the front desk service representative, Sheila, was fantastic and helped us address the issue and it was resolved expediently. We were very happy with the professionalism of the staff and the customer service. Would recommend the stay.
