Heinens Grocery Store in other cities:
The staff is what makes this place great. I have been here dozens of times and never took the time to give a review, but just today on New Year’s Eve I had five very positive interactions with the staff helping me find things, to the checkout person, to the bagger. Everyone here really is great. I think it’s a well run, very friendly store and a nice part of our community. Hats off to the Heinan Brothers.
Great variety, fresh food and delicious prepared food. Very helpful and friendly staff.I grew up with Heinens in Shaker Heights Ohio and now that I have relocated to suburban Chicago I find the store to be just as good. I will frequently shop at the two locations close to me. One is close to my office and the other close to my home. Both are top notch!
I have shopped at a lot of grocery stores in my life, but this is by far my favorite. It’s the perfect size, bright and clean, with great produce (love the local farms section) and a great bakery and fish & meat counters. They have everything you’ve looking for (including wines), but most of all their staff is all friendly and helpful. I honestly love shop here.
Lovely upscale grocery store with outstanding fresh produce, great deli and prepared options and excellent bakery items. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. One star off because none of this comes at a bargain price, but sometimes, its just worth it. Its an experience that combines grocery acquisitions with what I call sport shopping.
Nicely laid out store. Good selection of seafood, meat, cheese, wine. Friendly staff. In addition to the advertised seafood this store has some seafood especially flown from various places because of the connections the main guy has. We go there almost every Saturday, and we have never been disappointed. The quality is just VERY good.
Every time I shop at Heinens I feel relaxed, something that hasnt always been the case elsewhere during the pandemic. I have found the produce to be high priced. To go freshly made foods never disappoint. Sometimes I enjoy the bakery a bit too much! The little plant dept often has unusual fun items that I have trouble resisting as well.
5 star grocery store in its own class. It the Abt of grocery stores-- amazing customer service, clean, well stocked, well organized, and well sanitized. On my last visit, I counted 5 workers that either greeted me, asked if I needed help, or assisted me. The selection and price range is on par with that of a suburban Jewel-- however Id say a little more upscale. However its definitely not as expensive as Whole Foods. The experience is nothing like shopping in snobby/pushy Park Ridge--- this is GENUINE classy! This is basically the store that Marianos pretends to be, but is not. This store is family owned, which is another plus. The checkout counters are thoroughly Covid-proof with plastic walls on both sides of the aisle. Another plus is that you actually see the purchasing rewards immediately, unlike other stores where they never seem to manifest. Plenty of parking as well! It was wonderful leaving a grocery store in a good mood for a change! The worker getting the carts even wished me a good night! Wow!
This place always is the best for things you cannot find elsewhere. I go here, fresh thyme, pickle co op and trader joes. Also whole foods. This is like a classy whole foods with culture. Things you find locally or imported but from usa. The closest to this place would be fresh thyme. The assortments are awesome and vegan options are endless.even the go raw stuff , theres a big option
Fantastic neighborhood grocery. Deli, meats, salad bar selections are great, and produce is fresh and plentiful. For a relatively small store, the choices are surprisingly good. Even some hard to find items. Staff is super nice and helpful. And beer selection is surprisingly outstanding!!! Thats important to me. :) I love this place.
Its a fully stocked grocery store that also offers a lot of ready made meal items. The store is clean and bright with friendly staff. I particularly like their butcher and cheese departments which has a large selection of options. They dont however, have a big selection of some other things you might find at larger stores like greeting cards or flowers. I find the parking setup to be a little odd with the door to the side but parking to the rear of the lot, but I suppose they did what they could with the space and it looks much nicer than the former store that occupied the lot many years ago.
The lighting in this store is great. It makes it seem so much more open. The prices are slightly higher for some things. The fruit is great and the presentation of the fruit is just as good.Their beer selection is fantastic. Lots of refrigerated craft beers to choose from. They have good sales.
Heinens is a wonderful, customer service oriented grocery store. I consider myself very fortunate to have such a place so close to me. Their produce is amazing, the store is exceptionally clean, and the prices are not overly inflated. They offer a very nice selection of beer and wine, a salad bar, and usual bakery, fish, deli and floral department. There is also a variety of prepared foods you can take home and cook/heat up. Did I mention how nice everyone is? Lol
Great place to go grocery shopping. Im always impressed by the produce. Theres a high level of service here. The staff seems fully competent and aware. It seems like a lot of thought has gone into the products that they put on the shelves. Theres plenty of other grocery shopping options around but this is my go-to place.
Clean. Top-notch meat selection. Excellent bakery. Large selection of prepared foods made in-house. And, the biggest salad bar Ive seen. There are large selections of craft beer and wine, and a wine sample bar. I am a bourbon fan, and their selection of excellent bourbon is strong. It may not be quite as wide as what is found at Binnys, the local liquor superstore, but it includes many examples of the really good stuff. I first shopped at Heinens years ago in Northeast Ohio and was pleased when they expanded to Chicago North Shore. Great food store.
Heinens stocks a variety of upscale brands that are not available at traditional chains. I dont go there for my everyday groceries, but they do have good sales on brands I like. It is also a great place to go for something nice to bring to a party, such as a premade cheese tray, fruit tray, or veggie tray.
No social distancing here. If youre concerned about COVID and keeping safe youll have to shop elsewhere. Check out lines have customers back to back in tight space. I selected a line that had the next registered closed and because a few customers were in line the front end manager, Jason opened all the registers where customers were shoulder to shoulder. I got bumped and couldnt believe what I witnessed. What happened to respecting all patrons? It literally was only a few people waiting in line. Shopping here is not worth the risk. Be Warned!
Granted that this is a Heinens, it is definitely a high end grocery store. The food products are very good. The problem is that the prices are too high. Some things are far too expensive. The people working there may be nice and helpful sometimes, but they usually tend not to be present. What I mean by that is this: they are not really around very much most of the time. Scramble around and look for them, but you might not find them. I would rather see this happen than see any form of rudeness, but it would be nice for the workers to be more present in the aisles so that we can ask for help if needed. Since the products are very good quality, this place does not get a poor rating (1 or less stars). It gets 2 stars (marginal) instead.
I (mostly) left Whole Foods for Heinens Grocery Store. They have a vast selection of brands. I can get organic produce, grass fed beef and Doritos all in one trip. You can find a decent selection of organic produce and a small exotic fruit section. I enjoy most of the store brand items I have tried; I especially enjoy the two brothers double smoked ham they carry and the DArtagnan bacon. The Service is really great, everyone who works there has been really helpful. The store is clean and it has a big parking lot.
Courteous, knowledgeable staff. Great produce, deli, meat, fish, cheese & bakery departments. Nice selection of organic and/or green foods, household cleaning supplies & personal care items. Good value for $$$ Feels like a neighborhood grocery store. Thanks #heinans ! :-) ♡♡♡
Overpriced. Do not like the layout of the store/building and parking lot, do not like the blue plastic bags or paper bags without handles. Glad they now have fresh, prepared foods, but they are overpriced as well. Also, when will regular grocery stores pick up the methodology that Trader Joe’s uses when opening a new check out lane. The cashier takes the person who has been waiting the longest, not the people who just walked up to the register line at the back of the line. At Heinen‘s, I watched a cashier take three people who had walked up behind me to serve them in the lane next to the one I was waiting in. I was waiting for a guest in front of me to finish checking out. Three people who walked up behind me were served in the lane next to me while I still waited. Bad policy.
Very disappointed with customer service. I will admit I am not a regular customer of heinens unless its en route to a destination. I have always found their items over priced and never cared for their quality of meat. I have had their customer card since they. OpenedTonight I was in a pinch to pick up something for supper for my family from their deli. I realized I forgot my credit card and asked if I could write a check they checked my customer card and said youto spend $1500 here to write a check. I returned my customer card and will never shop there again. In 40 years I have Never bounced a check. They
I truly enjoy shopping at Heinen. The deli has the most amazing potato souffle. They also occasionally have salmon cakes which are awesome. This is the only place that I can also find Stumptown Coffee. They have various flavors of this coffee. This is also the only place where I can find lemon ricotta popsicles which are unique but refreshing. Nothing compares to this grocery store.
Stopped in to get a few things and was so glad I did. I got sushi for lunch and grabbed a godfather wrap for dinner. I bought some sodas I had not seen in years, found the baking supplies I needed. The produce looked wonderful and if I had been going home I would had bought lots. The people at the check out were so friendly I look forward to going back. I wish they would open up in the old Treasure Island locations in Chicago. I do not think that Glenview knows how lucky they are to have such a gem.
I went here for some groceries for dinner. They have a large selection of items. There people were helpful when I couldnt find something. Its clean and well organized. They have s large parking lot. I didnt notice if they had bicycle parking, I will check next time.Cool thing is they take Google Pay!I will return...
As a Northeast Ohio born and raised individual I was so happy when Heinens moved to Chicagoland as well. This is one of my favorite grocery stores. They can be a bit pricey on some items but they only sell the best of the best. You DO get what you pay for. In my opinion they have the BEST meat department anywhere as far as quality of product. I swear that I can tell a difference when I buy meat from Heinens for a couple of my recipes and when I make the same recipe with meat from elsewhere. If you happen to come across this Heinens (or any other in the Chicagoland area) do yourself a favor and stop in. You will be glad that you did. You can thank me later.
You like certain items in this more Boutique sized type of Whole Foods supermarket, a chain I had to Google about that is really nice but a little bit pricey and hence earns four stars, some pastries when made order if you got a nice personality about you they do a super job, I have bought their chicken wings and also good again little pricey but regardless ample parking and right by Waukegan in Glenview Road
Heinens only has a sign about wearing masks out front, but they don’t enforce it. I am just coming back from there and there were a number of people with their masks hanging around their necks or without mask all together walking around in the store. Not good. Heinens does not keep their customers or their employees safe.

2022-04-27Best experience I have ever had. Very friendly, super clean and professional staff. Very eager to help out and very knowledgeable on all produce. Everything here seems really fresh. It smells nice its well lit, and you can tell the owners put a lot of effort into keeping it clean. From the frozen meat and fish department to the bakery. Breads are freshly baked. Large selection and very well organized. The shopping carts were clean with a variety of sizes. I found everything I needed. Thank You to all staff members for making my shopping experience easy and very none stressful.

2022-04-28Enjoyed our shopping trip to Heinens. The workers are extremely helpful. The produce is the best in the area. You can find a TON of Gluten-free food options. The selection of produce is insane. I recently got some cherry tomatoes and they were the best I had in a long time. I really cant say enough good things about this store.

2022-02-19Immaculate and well organized. Super friendly and helpful staff. Produce looks amazing and fresh. Slightly awkward parking lot since the entrance doesnt face it. Hidden gem I often forget about that I should visit more often.

2022-02-16In most cases, it seems the prices are for the rich and elite. Common items are higher on average, produce is sometimes double or more but gorgeous. Got a special event , they have the goods. If you want to pamper yourself and deserve the best, this is the place. Every department! Better wine, beer, and liquor selection than some liquor stores. Fresh and prepared food is delicious. For those who buy 2 days meals at a time or a special meal, this is your store. Went again today to pick out wifes favorites: fresh peanut butter, baby bussel sprouts, and a flavored water no one else has. My eyes are still wide open from the high prices.

2022-04-11Love it so much! It’s kind of far from Chicago, but it worth every minute inside, specially because you can find high quality food that normally you don’t find in other groceries stores 😍
