Im really bad about planning ahead, so I love that Hand and Stone often has same day availability. Because of my lack of planning, Ive had massages from different people each time, and Ive always had positive experiences. I participate in the membership program, which I highly recommend if you want monthly massages. Youll save money on the long run. Just make sure to pay attention to the agreement, so if you are moving somewhere without a H&S location, plan ahead because they require a 30 day notice (at least thats on mine).They are mindful of making everyone feel comfortable. They have tables with alarms for peace of mind that if you happened to feel uncomfortable, and you can press a button and another employee is supposed to come to check on you. Needless to say Ive never needed it, but again its good for peace of mind. Each massage therapist starts by checking to see what your goal of the massage is (i.e. problem spots, areas to avoid, relaxation, etc.) and also checks in to make sure everythings good.Ive only been during the pandemic, and everyone is mindful of safety measures, and since the mask mandate was lifted, they added an option for you to indicate if youre okay with vaccinated massage therapists not eating a mask, or if you would prefer them to. Especially with the numbers going back up, I appreciate them asking.In short, positive experience all around, and highly recommend!
I love Hand and Stone. I have been a member here for over 5 years and the quality is always top notch. As a working mom of 4, the evening hours make it so much easier to fit “me time” into my schedule. I’ve seen several massage therapists and estheticians at this location. They have all been excellent. You can tell they are well trained and care about their clients. They truly commit themselves to the quality of each service. The front desk is amazing too! Great customer service. I love chatting with the girls while I wait for my service. I highly recommend Hand and Stone. I wouldn’t go anywhere else!!!!
Highly recommend this location! The front desk staff is always incredibly helpful and friendly. Always leave feeling very relaxed. I’ve seen a massage therapists now and have had very positive experiences with all of them, which makes it very easy to get an appointment scheduled! When I go for facials, I always leave feeling very refreshed. The esthetician’s I’ve seen were very knowledgeable and always knew exactly what my skin needed.
The entire staff is always professional. The environment is very clean and sanitary to provide a relaxing atmosphere. My massage therapist, Kathy, is the best. The room is set to my preferences every time and she provides a very therapeutic massage from start to finish. Since my back surgery 20 years ago, I’ve had hundreds of massages and I highly recommend Kathy at Hand and Stone.
This was my first time at Hand and Stone and I am beyond satisfied with my experience. The front desk staff is super friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful - especially Nina. I called to book a massage/facial combo and was able to book same day! I maybe selfish, but I almost dont want to disclose the names of the providers so they dont book up ;) Vince was very accommodating knowing that I have a physically stressful job and he focused on the problem areas that I highlighted. Kristine provided me with a facial and focused on the problems that I was having. She is very knowledgeable of all the products and she explained everything step by step. I am excited to announce that because of this visit I became a member of Hand and Stone!
I’m one of those people that can get awkward with massages and Kathy makes me feel so comfortable! She’s so easy going and listens to you when you tell her which areas are really bothering you. She checks with you throughout the massage to make sure everything is going okay and I always leave feeling amazing. I cannot recommend Kathy enough. She’s truly amazing!
Kia did my facial and was very insightful and a pleasure to be around. My facial experience was 10/10 and she went above and beyond. As for the reception area, they try and upsell their membership which is fine but the way they aggressively push is off putting and does not compliment the ambiance the claim to provide and you’d hope to find at a spa. Nobody wants to be pressured into anything after a spa treatment. Additionally, the treatment the receptionists give for using gift cards or coupons is so harsh. I’m not sure how their methodologies can encourage people to return when they make them feel so uncomfortable. One of the receptionists was extremely rude not only to the customers but to the other receptionist who was trying to resolve the gift card issue because it was not redeeming the facial for the full amount for some reason and the lady was rudely trying to say that we have to pay the $20 additional per person since it wasn’t redeeming even though it clearly said the gift card was good for the facial. We called prior and checked to make sure the gift cards would work so we knew we shouldn’t be charged and she kept rolling her eyes. All in all, I had a gift card for this experience was a gift to me and my boyfriend and we both loved our facials so much, it’s a shame that the receptionists area couldn’t deliver and will likely prevent people from returning.
Apparently the massage therapists don’t keep track of their own schedule so I arrived to my appointment early and waited 10 minutes past my scheduled time for Paige to finally come out. She cut my time 3 minutes short as well so my 50 minute massage was 37 minutes. When I asked why I didn’t get the full time, she said the front desk didn’t tell her she had a client and that she had another client after me. Why was her next client’s time more important than mine? Very unprofessional.Carmella is my preferred massage therapist but she must be a lot of people’s because she was super booked out - she is fantastic but I was extremely disappointed with today’s service with Paige
I have been a member at this location for years and have always had a stellar experience. Recently I had the pleasure of meeting the new management team and I was blown away. They went above and beyond to not only make me feel welcome, but safe in the middle of a pandemic. Sal & Aaron are my favorites and both give a PHENOMENAL massage!! If you are looking for a clean, friendly and professional Spa, look no further!!**Try the salt stones (they are my favorite) They have lots of options!!
I came in with my mom for a massage, her massage was great, ( she had a very zen treatment) mine on the other hand, my therapist talked the entire time, and did more physical therapy than an actual massage. It was supposed to be a full body massage. My massage therapist was a man and obviously was not comfrotable. 70% of my message was done over the sheets, and was not even a massage more like the pushing and pulling of physical therapy. When he said we were finished I said you never did my right leg. He did my left leg from the knee down, and did not do my arms or my right leg. I walked out of their more stressed than I did when I walked in. When I walked out I said I was displeased but no one, asked why, I called a few days later and told them what had happend and was told the GM would call me and that has yet to happen. I am not asking for a refund or asking for a free massage, I am asking you listen to your customers, because I will not recommened you to anyone after the poor service I had. Also it says mask required but during my treatment I did not have my mask on and their are no temperature checks as you state in your desciption. Just so very disappointed.
This location is the best I’ve ever been to! Vince is an amazing massage therapist, I always leave feeling rejuvenated and way less tense. The front desk and the manager Jayme are always extremely hospitable and courteous. Do yourself a favor, stop reading this review and a book a service NOW!!!! You won’t regret it!!!
I have been a long-standing client of H&S. I would like to take this time to voice my appreciation to the staff at this location. Through these trying times we have been through I always found my visits to the Spa as my little retreat. When reopening after Covid shutdowns the front desk staff promptly informed me of the reopening protocols to follow and never did I ever feel unsafe while visiting to get any services. Even a coupleof back when I received notice of the proposed rate increase the manager took the time explain to me the reasonings behind these new rates. If you ever need a excellent massage don’t hesitate to visit this Spa, Carmella is the best!!
This is by far the best spa I have ever been too!From the moment you walk in the atmosphere is relaxing and friendly. The front desk customer service is excellent they are all so attentive and knowledgeable.I always make the most out of my visits here and do a spa day- the massage and facial! I enjoy going there, its a treat ! Everyone is very nice and we have good conversations.For a massage, when I get there I walk in all tight and old and when I leave, there is a bounce to my step and I feel younger. Love it !The facials are enjoyable also. I love the extra feeling of moisture and health afterwards.Also, being a member is a good thing, it helps make all my pampering more affordable.
Terrible.customer service. Very rude and pushy about memberships. The massage itself was fine and the massage therapist was also. My boyfriend also got one at the same.time and he said his therapist made him feel uncomfortable. The reception and managers were not helpful or friendly. Definitely will not use them at this naperville location again
Casey was wonderful and personable. Highly recommend it. What’s great is they will send you all the forms to your email, so you can fill them out in advance. One of the awesome upsells I saw was an electronic massager. I will definitely be using that next time. Thanks Casey!
It was a delightful and relaxing experience from beginning to end. The front desk staff was equally kind as they were helpful. It was my first time at Hand & Stone in general, not just this location, and the ladies of the front desk broke everything down for us so we felt welcomed but not overwhelmed. The message was perfect. Everything I asked for, Brandon did. He heard all of my needs I wanted out of the massage, and executed. I walked out feeling 1,000% better than the way I walked in. The experience was so amazing, I signed up for the membership. Strongly suggest this place!
I have never to Hand and Stone before so I thought Id give it a try since I heard nothing but great things. I went to the Naperville location and it was very calming and clean. Staff there are wonderful! Everyone is so kind and very informative. My massage therapist was Linda and she was awesome. She had the pressure just right and made sure to focus on areas I had requested. The room itself was very clean, relaxing and the bed was nicely heated. Linda gave me a sample of the Himalayan salt massage and it was the best thing ever. Had I know how amazing it was I wouldve upgraded. My experience at Hand and Stone was so awesome that at the end up joining as a member. I look forward to future massages here.
Ive been coming here since July and have had a different therapist/esthetician each time and each one of them has been so wonderful!! They are all very knowledgeable and so kind, I always leave here feeling better than I walked in. The front desk staff are also always so friendly and welcoming, I always look forward to my monthly appointments!!
Poor customer service. After booking my last minute deal online, I also completed the paperwork online beforehand. Besides the initial customer form, I also did the pregnancy form as I was 12 weeks pregnant. Both of those somehow went overlooked for hours, and it wasn’t until I showed up for my appointment at 9pm that I learned both:1. The message therapist on staff was not qualified for prenatals.2. Last minute deals did it apply to prenatal anyways.All that is fine, albeit annoying that no one noticed the pregnancy form I filled out hours before. The problem is we are 2.5 weeks later and I:1. Still haven’t heard back from the elusive manager who is supposedly never in when I call and has also supposedly always been given a message to call me back within 24-48 hours (haven’t gotten that call).2. I physically went in over a week ago to follow up with someone in person and was told my refund was scheduled to post the next day. Spoiler: it’s a week and a half later and I still have no refund. ..and no phone call back ...and different information each time I talk to one of the non-manager office workers.How ridiculous and what poor communication and customer service. Definitely my least relaxing spa experience...ever 😅
If you need to relax and do so affordably this is the place to go! I always get AHHHHHMAZING massages. There is thought and time taken with every appointment. I feel like my concerns are always heard. My esthetician N’Crai is phenomenal, love her. My skin has never looked better & the front desk is so personable and nice.
I had an amazing experience at Hand & Stone. Everyone is very friendly and the inside is gorgeous. I got my first facial ever here, and Laura was awesome! She explained everything to me and answered all my questions. It was very relaxing and my skin looks and feels great. I highly recommend checking this place out - they also have first time customer specials!
The lobby was clean and tranquil. The staff was friendly and attentive. I arrived on time and did not wait to be served. My massage and facial both were relaxing and I felt satisfied that I was offered upgrades that were appropriate to my individual needs. Could not realistically ask for anything better!
Where Do I Start? From the second I walk through The door and see the beautiful waterfall, being greeted from the amazing front desk ladies, from then on the whole experience pretty much explains itself on why I gave this location a five star review! Naperville 75th Hand and Stone is hands-down a must for everyone to try from their amazing lifestyle program that they offered, to their amazing therapists and Estheticians! I previously gave this location a 5-star review. Todays experience totally changed that. If youre reading this review, first off DO NOT PURCHASE A MEMBERSHIP!!! Read some of the recent reviews. They make it difficult to impossible to cancel.Today I went into the location and requested my membership to be cancelled. While discussing this with the woman at the counter, a man came from the office, picked up on the fact that I wanted to cancel my membership and immediately stated that I needed to go home and do it online. New rules since COVID prohibit them from accepting membership cancellations in person! I responded that I was here specifically to cancel my membership at which point he stated that they wont accept cancellations in person -- they must be done electronically.This all seems odd since Im positive that they would allow me to enroll in a membership in-person both before and after COVID.Only after I asked who he was did he actually identify himself as the manager. Apparently, this location is under new management.As longtime customer and former advocate of this location, Im very disappointed that they would burn the relationship to the point of my never wanting to step foot in their location again. Further, at no time did the manager or staff bother to even ask why I wanted to cancel.There are other/better massage options than to be treated like this.
Ive had a membership for at least 5 years. Made an appointment for a swedish massage today at 8pm. Babysitter called to say she couldnt make it at around 5 pm. Called the Naperville location immediately and spoke to Katie to let them know I would have to cancel. She says she will charge me or take out a package for my late cancellation. This is absolutely ridiculous, a circumstance that is completely beyond my control and you decide to charge me for it? Am I to bring my toddler over so as to make the appointment?Keep in mind, THEY cancelled on me the last time I made an appointment and did not offer any sort of compensation until I spent a considerable amount of time on the phone with them and even then all they could offer was a service worth $10.There should be an exception to situations like this and I find it highly disappointing that Im being treated this way after being a paying customer for so long.
My wife gave me a gift certificate for massages. Thats the first issue. What was explained to her and what I was told when I went to my appointment for my first massage was entirely different. Ok. Not sure why there were different understandings of what the gift certificates were for but I chose to accept their explanation. It was somewhat different than my wifes understanding. Stuff happens so we worked our way through that. I should have known there were going to be more issues since it took three employees to review the situation and finally come up with what I was eligible for. At that time I set up repeating appointments for my massages, one of them being a two hour massage to use up one of the gift certificates. The appointment for the two hour massage was made a few weeks in advance. A week before my appointment I got a call that the masseuse was not going to be available due to personal issues. Ok, things happen. They wanted to move the appointment but as I explained I chose the date and time to fit my schedule. After debating this for several minutes with the lady who called me she finally got the point and said they would move me to another masseuse an hour earlier on the appointed day. Fine. Good to go. Later that same day I got a call from the Naperville location that they would not be able to keep the replacement appointment since the masseuse the other salon employee selected doesnt do two hour massages. She also said they would have to move me to another day. I again explained that my schedule doesnt allow me to move my appointment to another day so what are my options? Can I cancel the gift certificate - no, was the answer. I frankly had spent more time on this than it deserved and communicated such so I said whats the best you can do for me? After going back and forth a few times what she finally agreed to was an hour and one-half massage with the same masseuse that doesnt do two hour massages. ???? Apparently the extra 30 minutes is too taxing for the masseuse. Bottom line - Im done with Hand and Stone Massage. I will keep my next appointment and eat the rest of the gift certificate. The staff, while trying to be accommodating, is not well trained nor do they communicate well with each other. The right hand doesnt know what the left is doing. The services Hand and Stone offers are nice to have not got to have so one would think they would be focused on keeping customers. I am going back to the massage therapist I have been using and wont use nor recommend Hand and Stone.
Heather is my regular therapist for a year now. She has proven to be quite the gem in keeping all my aches and pains in check. A professional in the true sense. Very personable and pleasant. Would highly recommend her to anyone with or without aches and pains. Great experience as always.
NEVER BUY THEIR MEMBERSHIP BECAUSE THEY WILL GIVE YOU HARD TIME WHEN YOU WANT TO CANCEL.I have their membership for over six months and when I decided to cancel I was shocked to find out that cancellation requires coming in person to the salon and have a meeting with the management.I understand that they don’t want to lose business and by requiring customers to come in person to cancel will delay the cancellation of membership. However they are forgetting that having a bad return policy ensures that you never get that customer back again and instead you get this review.Interestingly they will do all sales related transactions over the phone and via email and text but when it comes to cancellation they want customers to come in person and meet a manager.I will just call and file dispute with my credit card!
I really enjoy getting my massage here. The therapist I see targets all my muscle aches and I walk out feeling relief. Im not giving a full 5 star review though due to everytime I am there I feel very overwhelmed when checking out because of the pushy sales pitch. I was in today and left feeling great from my massage but extremely annoyed. I had said I would buy another one at a later date and rather than a Okay, sounds good, I was put in another sales pitch. I have been going here for a couple of years now and feel as though the sales pitch keeps getting more aggressive each time.
Marilyn is an excellent massage therapist. She does an amazing job if you asked for a deep tissue massage. The location is easily assessible and has good parking. The suite itself is nicely made up and relaxing. The front desk staff are very friendly and making an appointment is very easy.
Called to schedule an appointment or ask about same day appointment availability . Receptionist Loren was unprofessional and hang up on me instantly when I said that the following day doesn’t work for me, instead of asking me if I have any other day in mind. It felt rude!Not good for business also!
If I could give them a zero I would. By far the most disgusting and scamming company Ive ever dealt with. Out of town dealing with a family death and see an unauthorized charge from them. That fact anyone can use your card without your authorization is sad. Then they could care less about the customer long as the receive their fee.
Just received a massage from Aaron. Had knots and tight muscles all down my neck and back and shoulders, making it difficult to move without pain.1 hour with Aaron and I only have a little tension, and no pain. His background in sports medicine made it worth it.****HIGHLY RECOMMENDED HAND AND STONE. I SUGGEST AARON.***
It was ok. The front desk people were very friendly. I was a little underwhelmed by the massage therapist. She had long nails so it was kind of distracting during the massage. I had asked for the hot stone add on and Im not sure if she actually did it, or if she did use them it seemed very short. I had asked for a focus on the upper back and neck and it seemed like she rushed through that area. All in all like I said it was just ok.
Went yesterday for a couples massage. First the young lady overcharged us. It wasnt until we said something that she corrected it. If we didnt say anything she wouldnt have changed anything. I can appreciate her correcting it though. Just felt like it was dishonest to overcharge in the first place. Second my body is sore and swollen. My massage was not relaxing. It was painful. I thought it was because she was massaging tense spots but all those spots are sore and swollen today. Completely defeats the purpose of a massage.
Front desk staff are always friendly and efficient. Went in for a prenatal massage and feel amazing now! Sara was my massage therapist this time, and I am so happy with the massage I received. Cannot believe how relaxing that was! I almost fell asleep on the table! Thank you!!!!!!
This was my first time ever getting a facial and it was perfect! I even started a membership! Shameeka was professional, very knowledgeable and amazing with her hands! I was so relaxed I fell asleep. My skin was soft and my melanin was popping! Thank you so much Shameeka! I can’t wait until my next appointment!!
I got a gift card for my daughter they told me I only had to do is make a advance so when I did make the appointment they were already booked up three weeks advance then what I did get appointment all they had was a man massage massage and she didnt want a man I dont understand why they havent man instead of having woman bad experience all the way around my experiences with making sure they make it three weeks in advance one or two
Honestly worse massage place in Naperville!Employees are not helpful or friendly at all.What you see on the news about Naperville is true. Theyre very racist! There was a black girl in front of me and Irene the manager completely ignored her and started talking to me. I told her the lady in front of me was there first.Irene is very unprofessional and rude!Please go anywhere else but here.
My wife and I signed up for the annual plan about a year ago and cannot say enough about the service we have received. The entire team at LaVida is dedicated to your satisfaction. The part we love most about the staff is that there is a set of hands for any of your massage needs. Whether we are looking for a deep tissue or a intermediate massage - someone on the team is guaranteed to be the right fit.
Great service for a first timer. Be aware though the 1 hr is not how long the massage lasts but includes the prep time (changing clothers talking about your needs etc which is usually 10 min) so id say the actual massage would be a portion of the specified time. Other than that its good service. Dont forget to tip.
First let me say how immaculate this place is veeeeeerrrryyyy clean and relaxing I hate to leave after my massages and facials...For massages I recommend Marco or Bernice for facials I recommend Lauren or Courtney this place is AWESOME I love it love it the staff is so patient and amazing I definitely recommend this Hand and Stone Massage location you will not be disappointed thank you all so much for always being so pleasant to me...

2022-05-11In response to the owners response— I had already spoken to the manager at the location and explained the situation. Even though I had made them aware of my back issues and the additional doctors I see for it during my first visit and again at the time of cancelling, I was still charged.I’m disappointed with their membership agreement. I had signed up for their membership for massages after my first visit (which was pleasant enough) but about two weeks later had to cancel due to medical reasons. It wasn’t due to finances or because of a bad experience, it was purely medical and out of my control. I cancelled as soon as I was told to by my doctors but due to their “30 day policy” I was still charged for something I cannot use. I have zero interest in their other services so now I am out $70 and this is in addition to their membership start up fee that I was charged at sign up just two weeks prior to my cancelling.

2022-03-09Scheduled a facial with Angela at this Hand and Stone location. What a wonderful experience!She did a great job analyzing my skin and described the products she was using. It was indeed a very relaxing, aromatic and most pleasant experience! Definitely will go back!

2022-03-22Not the kind of attention I was hoping it was going to be for my wife. I bought an introductive stone massage for her birthday and she was not impressed or satisfied with how they treated her on her first visit. She had to fill out forms and there were especific things she pointed out and none of them were followed through. Then why ask? The room was cold and not ready for her session. Attention in how youre cared for and consideration is very important. Definitely not going there again.

People at the front were nice, very clean and friendly place.Back room was clean, nice lighting soft music and clean facilities. Person giving me the facial and procedure was very informative helped answer all questions.Will be back.
