Great customer service and very clean. However, our first night there the air conditioner in our room would not cool off and the thermostat had a low battery. We ended up having to change rooms. We stayed there for over nearly week and unfortunately we were double billed. Because of this I was late on several of my regular bills at home. I was told that It was a glitch in their system and that they needed to have corporate deal with it. Corporate never dealt With it and instead I had to have my bank reversed the charges. Here it is nearly a month and a half later and I’m still trying to get my money back. This was several hundred dollars. Make sure to put your room on a credit card and not on a debit card.
Everything about my visit was amazing. The room was perfect for my kids and I and it was clean and spacious. The breakfast was wonderful and the staff were all very helpful and friendly. My kids loved the pool. We will definitely be staying here again since we have family in the area.
One of the best hotels Ive stayed at. Very friendly and helpful staff. Really nice people! The room was also great. There are also several amenities available, which is nice. After a long day while away on business, this was a great place to relax and unwind. I couldnt recommend this hotel more.
True to the Hilton family brand. This Hampton Inn is a great place to stay when youre in the area. The staff is very personable and the hotel is very well managed, manicured, and clean. Great stay for Telsa and EV owners also as they have charging stations onsite. Will most definitely stay again when back in the area.
Had a terrible stay! Im a loyal Hampton Inn supporter and fan of the Hampton Inn brand because of the consistency from one hotel to the next. Due to a local event room was billed at $330/night. I stayed in the Mt Zion, IL location. Rooms were substandard, breakfast hot items were terrible, and the eco friendly thermostats turn the A/C off in the middle of the night and you wake up hot and miserable.
When we arrived at 9pm were were impressed with the newness and how clean it was. Unfortunately, it changed due to one thing - the AC system. We entered our room to find it set on 77 degrees. We adjusted it to 71 and it never dropped below 75 degrees the entire evening and thru the night. At 10:30pm I went to the front desk and told the lady and she said it was just because the last guests set it too high and it was normal. My hope was that it would just take a little bit to cool down... NOT. My husband and I managed a hotel for over 25 years so we knew it was just an excuse to brush us off. After hours of being miserable trying to sleep, we noticed that it only reacted to movement and would shut off if you were not moving around. That means if you sleep, you will not get cool air, it completely shuts off and does not come on unless you get up and walk around. There is an eye bubble on the thermostat that picks this up so forget sleeping! I went to the front desk the next morning and told them I had never had such a horrible sleep in a hotel, she said she would have moved us if we just told them. Excuse me.. I did that but nothing was offered! Not only that, it would not have made any difference because another employee said they were motion detectors on the units to follow Hiltons green program. When reality is that its controlling expenses while making guests miserable. Going forward on future bookings, I will contact any of the Hilton properties before booking to make certain they dont use the motion detectors in the rooms! You will love the hotel if you like a hot room to sleep in.
Positive: The staff was absolutely amazing! Negative: It¿s a byproduct of Covid but it¿s annoying when you pay full price for a room and get no clean towels no vacuum of the floor no room make up or trash emptied. We stayed three days and they provide tiny little trash cans and there¿s no place to p
I stayed here multiple times for work. The staff is friendly and energetic. The breakfast crew is especially nice. The linens were super soft and the mattress not overly firm. The gym had everything I could ask for and I enjoyed staying my day off in it. I highly recommend staying here.
The hotel is fairly new and it definitely shows. The common areas and rooms were all modern, well lit, well decorated. The staff were very friendly and made sure to always ask how tour stay was going, if you needed anything, etc. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and a few things changed daily so it felt fresh every day. Water pressure was actually decent in the showers, they provided a complimentary go bag with water, granola bar, coffee cake and fresh fruit to take with you for the day, their gym had a good amount of equipment that was in great shape, and there are self-serve laundry facilities. For the cost (less than $400 for 3 nights), this hotel far exceeded my expectations.
Staff were all friendly and went above and beyond for our stay. Julia in particular was amazing. Would highly recommend. Should my travels take me back to the area I would absolutely come back.Rooms were clean and set up very well. Love the Chaise lounge with little table. Huge walk in shower. All this and pet friendly too!
This was a great location! Very close to food chains, Walmart and several other stores. The hotel is either new or updated. I see other reviews mentioning covid regulations but I believe this hotel did everything as they should. Rooms were cleaned and sanitized. Employees wearing masks, breakfast was grab and go. The only mention here is the swimming pool room was very cold. The outdoor space with fire place and grill was super nice. And Mae at the front desk was very friendly and knowledgeable. Thank you!
I understand this hotel is rated high on google reviews, but my stay at this hotel was horrendous.First I will start with the positives about the hotel. The hotel is located about 5 min from the airport and provides a shuttle service that will provide transport to/from the airport. The hotel is surrounded by a lot of fast food restaurants. The staff is also very friendly and courteous. The negatives about this hotel are actually quite glaring. Throughout the hotel there is no signage regarding social distancing or masks. The hotel staff does not wear masks at all and a majority of the guests were not wearing masks either. There were no rules enforced by the staff to have guests wear masks. This made me extremely uncomfortable and concerned for my own health. The room was very unclean. The bathroom was filthy and throughout the bathroom and room I found long strands of hair just pushed against the trash cans, likely from previous guests meaning that the room was not cleaned properly and the staff was probably to lazy to clean the room effectively. The toiletries in the bathroom (ie. shampoo, lotion) were actually half empty meaning that the bottles were not changed after the previous guest checked out and instead were just kept there for me to use.Overall my experience here was terrible. I really cannot fathom why the hotel manager does not enforce a mask policy for her staff and the guests. Makes it seem like the manager doesn’t believe that there is a pandemic currently ongoing. I believe that Hilton needs to be made aware of this reckless behavior so that no guest or staff become ill as this is a public health issue.
The hotel is updated, the location is great and the rooms are quite nice and comfortable. Our issue was with the disregard to guests health. Upon check-in we entered the hotel with masks per the state mandate, but the staff was wearing their masks below their chins. We stood 10 feet back from the desk, but were forced to get close to unmasked staff to give them payment and get our room keys. The following morning the hotel manager on duty wasnt even wearing a mask. There are also no signs in the hotel reminding people to wear masks or social distance. They are clearly not following the state mandate.
We stayed there for 4 days due to my husbands Job, & our experience was so good the staff were very help, they have a guy on nights name Mikell who was giving us tips of places to go out to eat very helpful. & the breakfast at the hotel was great. Overall our stay was exceptional.
So happy with our stay!!! They were so accommodating. We booked a room for our daughter for her 5th birthday because she loves hotels and loves to swim! They were so sweet to let us come early to decorate the room to surprise her! The rooms are beautiful and fresh! We will always recommend them to out of town friends and family!
The Best Hotel in Decatur and surrounding area by far! Becky, Kasey & all the staff treat you like family and will keep you coming back. Their free breakfast is the most up to date I have enjoyed and the rooms are great. I highly recommend staying here. They are now being featured and recommended at Planet Fitness!
The place was exceptional clean inside and out. The staff was amazingly friendly from the reception desk, housekeeping, kitchen staff, just anyone we interacted with. They even invited my wife and other guests to eat their BBQ lunch with them. I would recommend this place to everyone and will definitely be staying here on our next trip. They blew our expectations out of the water.
This hotel is beautiful and its brand new. Having lived in Chicago for the last decade, but born and raised in this area- the interior reminds me of a more Posh Boutique Hotel than some of the smaller local hotels you see around here. Its dog friendly and the staff are lovely. This will be our new go-to hotel when we visit the family. It also has a pool that looks to have a lift which means its disability-friendly.
Very modern and fresh hotel. Staff was friendly, check in went quickly. Lots of shopping and food choices nearby, with a Steak n Shake right across the street. Thats good too, since breakfast at the hotel was very thin on choices: biscuits and gravy, waffles, fruit, cereal, toast, and some tiny pastries.
***Traveler beware*** - Love Hamlton Inn - except this one. We had significant issues with the rooms. First room, confirmed bedbugs. Second room, sheets on both beds dirty with hair in the bed. Obviously, not changed. We got to the third room and it was late, so we didnt check it out. Housekeeping assured me that it would be perfect. Next morning, daughter covered in bites - found more bedbugs. Staff worked to correct the issues as best as possible. No way to recover from this.
Needs a bar. Modern decor. Good staff and even prepare baggie of food if you have to miss breakfast. Huge comfy bed, but the pillows suck hard core. Theres no restaurant near by so that kinda sucks. But the pool and the inside is so nice out kinda makes up for it. Hotels in general need to make water a little more easily accessible, I had to go downstairs to buy water to rehydrate from my hangover.
Terrible staff experience. Tonya was absolutely unprofessional and downright rude. I witnessed her receive a delivery from a nice girl, and never once did she smile, respond to her questions, or even have a pleasant tone. Im sure she wasted the pizza persons time and gas and didnt even tip her, what a terrible person! She could learn a thing or two from that delivery girl! Dont stay here if you want good service!Edit: they felt the need to contact my workplace, -twice-. My guess is they think Ive never actually stayed there, but oh how wrong they are. Ive encountered unsatisfactory service all three nights Ive stayed there. Hospitality isnt their strong point. How silly, and very unprofessional of them all. Spend your money across the street.
My husband and I stayed here on 8/19/20, on a trip from CA to DC and back. Booked at Hilton properties because they’re promoting a consistent COVID-19 safety policy at all locations. Apparently the Mgr here thinks the pandemic is a hoax - no masks, no social distancing and no signage. Felt bad for the staff there - they don’t deserve to be put at risk.
We stayed here two nights for a friends wedding. So, it is a Hampton Inn - its a chain, and some of the fixtures and decorating is pretty cookie-cutter. That said, its all very new or very recently renovated. So its modern. I was pleasantly surprised to find a large amount of free outlets plus USB charging ports in our room. I am amazed at how many hotels renovate or remodel and dont add any outlets - theyll have 13 lamps, a clock radio and a landline phone, but no free outlets to charge a cellphone which pretty much everyone will have. This was not the case here. The place was also all very clean. That should be a given in ANY hotel or inn that doesnt charge by the hour, but often it isnt. Amenities were nice as well. Our kids and us spent plenty of time at the pool. The complimentary breakfast was quite nice too - nothing too crazy, but nothing gross, which again, should be a given, but often isnt. There was also a fitness area, which I didnt use, but looked clean, orderly and in uniform good repair. Theres a business area and an outdoor gas firepit area. Both cool things to have but we didnt make use of them (My wife and I would have sat by the fire, but you cant leave small kids unattended in a hotel).Despite all of this though, my favorite part of staying here was a friendly, attentive and helpful staff - from management, to front desk staff, to the folks who shuttled wedding guests to our venues, to the custodial staff - I was pleased with everyone who I encountered here. I wish actual hospitality wasnt an afterthought in the hospitality industry. It often is though. Fortunately, that wasnt the case here. I was glad to stay here.
Hampton Inn Mt Zion was amazing. The rooms were clean, my dog was welcomed, the staff were very sweet, and the check out was easy.Met some of the cleaning staff in the halls, they seemed to love their job - only downside was pool not open due to Covid. This location is close to everything and on a really pleasant side of town. Had pizza delivered from across the street at Monicles ?sp? and it was superb.2nd visit there would stay again.

2022-04-05This location was such a huge success for my daughter’s wedding in Fall 2021 that my husband and I used them for a weekend stay. We even brought our 65lb dog and were very pleased! The breakfast is better than most locations (we travel A LOT) and the staff is diverse and exceptional.

2022-06-02Easy place to find. The staff was friendly. The building and grounds were clean. The room was nice. They have an app that you can use instead of a key card which I thought was cool. There are several places to get food close by. They have a little store by the front desk that is stocked with all the basics. I enjoyed my time here. The TV guide is either channel 1 or 2 or 41. I know its odd but thats how they have it.

2022-06-02Everything was very clean and well maintained. There is some outdoor patio seating just off the indoor pool. The pool area is great, plenty of seating, pool is a tad smaller than some but still great.

2022-01-30We stay in Hampton by Wyndhams a lot between here & Muskogee, Ok. This one was the same as the rest with a couple exceptions. It was the most expensive one weve stayed in & we were lied to prior to renting. We were told there would be bacon or sausage for the hot breakfast. There was no meat at all. Overall an average experience save for the lie. That was a bit disappointing. For the lie, I take away 2 stars.

2022-02-19Great value, booked thru Expedia. Modern look, clean room, nice gym, unfortunately the pool was not in service. Overall a great stay for the price in my opinion.

2022-04-27See if they will tell you what is for breakfast the next day before you book, because the ‘turkey sausage’ is tasteless and borderline inedible. So if the usually good Hampton breakfast is a motivating factor in your decision, that will matter

2022-03-27This hotel was everything you could ask for clean, good food and drink and close to many shops. The staff was outstanding.
