I have been visiting this Kroger regularly and the staff isnt very friendly. The store is always busy and prices are ok but now great. This place definitely needs to learn customer experience.

Almost every time I go I to pay a bill the desk to do it at is closed when it should be open. I would understand if it was every once in a while if someone calls in or something like that but it is way to often they might as well block that area off as to not mislead people to think something might actually serve Its purpose.

Wow such a lot of hate for such a great store! Brilliant staff, great prices and convenient. Some people are just sad inside and like to complain a lot. Ignore the bad reviews. This is a great store. Never had a bad experience.

There is a cashier there that is so rude, today in the u scan a woman didnt see that it said card only, she turned to the cashier and ask and the cashier responded very condescending to her, yeah thats why there is signs up then the woman asked if any of the cashiers was excepting cash and she flat out lied and said no. I hate dealing with woman she cant hardly walk and if she has to help you in way she leans on the u scan and is always rude and treats people as if the were stupid. I tru to avoid her.

This is such a poor representation of the Kroger Grocery store chain. I was there in Friday, Aug 20, 2021 about 8:00 a.m. during senior hours. While a message on the entrance doors clearly stated that masks were STRONGLY encouraged and most shoppers had a mask on, NONE of the associates, checkers, stockers, NO employees were wearing masks! NOT ONE ! I only needed a few things but found several shelves completely empty. No bacon, no lunchables, frozen foods were very limited, many more items not available. Looked like several carts were waiting to be unloaded, but nothing was getting done. Very frustrating as this is the ONLY grocery store south of the lake. I am sure, if a senior executive from Kroger showed up unannounced, this store would be closed down. We, on the south end of town deserve better than this and should not have to drive to more affluent areas, such as north end of town which services Forsyth or to Mt Zion. What an embarrassment to the Kroger chain

This is a longer than normal situation. When I entered the store and found the restrooms, 2 staff members were talking for over 5 minutes like I didnt exist. Then one of them made a rude comment about this guy. Then when my family members were done shopping and ready to pay, no cashier knew how to use the online Kroger gift card, BUT as my wife read the instructions from her phone, the young clerk tried again using those instructions and it worked perfectly.SO, CONGRATULATIONS TO THE SUCCESSFUL CASHIER.2 constructive recommendations: keep your bathroom floors from being slippery as I almost fell in a locked room, and if you insist on using those triangular row labels, make the text as big as the bathroom signs. Not everyone has perfect vision!

A “manager”named Jamie works at this store (Kroger on 1st St. South Shores in Decatur, IL) and is just absolutely the worst at making any type of effort towards customer service. Neither is her manager Adam, I believe his name is. He also was just acting in a shocking manner over the phone towards me when I first decided to report an incident. The world is in a scary place right now. EVERYONE is feeling the effects of that, but I have worked in various departments of retail for over 6 YEARS! I have never seen a person that is supposed to have a title of management and act appropriately actually end up treating me and my family like criminals. My husband has been shopping at this Kroger for over 20 years. This employee decided to get violent and GRAB THINGS from his hands AS HE WAS CHECKING OUT and proceed to slap his hands out of the way while in the process of exiting the store that she was forcing him to leave because while wearing his sweatshirt as a mask WAS PERFECTLY FINE FOR HIM TO WALK THROUGH THE WHOLE STORE , PAST 5 OTHER EMPLOYEES, and START SCANNING THE 4 items he got. This “lady” came up and decided he needed to leave, RIGHT THEN. Started to take things from him and told him he needed to leave. He didn’t not understand. Rightfully so, he was going to be leaving the store anyway, why not let him leave the store with what he had already touched and made it through the store with anyway? Exactly. He was harming no one and not at all trying to disobey laws or make an exception of himself. He was GOING TO MAKE DINNER FOR HIS FAMILY! So she proceeds to follow him out as he is discussing the situation with her and how he feels it doesn’t make sense to him and she is just SPEWING OUT NONSENSE that he is never allowed back and she will be calling the police. Called and lied to the police saying he was blocking customers from coming in (he was exiting as she was still yelling at him and he was even “excuse me” “pardon me” to every person passing him so that parts funny) and even told the police he was going to try and steal the things she wouldn’t let him have. That is nonsense. It was hot dogs and hamburger meat, that he was already in the process of paying for. How should she be allowed to go to those length. This little power trip she was on makes you guys look disgusting. I even had to go back in to pick up those items that we needed for dinner CONSIDERING MY HUSBAND WASNT ALLOWED IN. I finished my shopping and got into an empt aisle before I went to check out, I started to adjust my mask and catch a breath and before I even exited the aisle as I was repositioning my mask THERE SHE WAS. Coming to verbally attack me, I say “I’m doing it, it’s on, just relax.“ So she then stops in her tracks and says YOU CAN LEAVE RIGHT NOW YOU KNOW. I told her I was already leaving and walked away from her. This is not right! I don’t even know this lady. And I’m sure she had no idea who exactly my husband is but IS SHE TREATING EVERYONE LIKE THIS? I have been trying to make myself understand why she possibly would have been allowed for act like this or why her manager that we were able to get ahold of decided not to listen to A WORD of what the complaint was and just said he wasn’t allowed back in the store. That’s just ridiculous to me. We spend a lot of money at that store, to also have this happening during an already very scary and difficult time in the world I can’t even go to my neighborhood store without being smarted off to by some employee and having her become physical with my husband.
