Fuel was a little cheaper than I expected. Free parking for 3 hrs if you buy 75 gal of fuel. Restaurant was top notch, great service food was really good and ladies in fuel desk very helpful getting me fixed up with receipt for parking. To park go to gate and push button on black tower to open gate. To check out go to guard shack and show fuel receipt.
The only reason I didnt give it 5 stars is the trash. the company that does that has call in sick or other reasons for the past week. last time I was here was 7- 8 yrs ago or more not sure. Restaurant was as good as ever. Jori was great and brightens your day, makes what can be a bad day into a good day. Food was great as far as the eggs, sausage and toast. Tomatoes were fresh and milk was cold, and the coffee was not bad eather. Didnt have to add anything to it to taste good. All in all not bad. I have been in alot worse.
We are talking Old School 76 truckstop. Cannot imagine how long this place has been here. Parking 12.00 for Safe parking spot for your 10, Cheap ! Friendly staff Excellent Service in restaurant. Free parking for 3 hrs. Stop by and check out some Americana Old School and excellent food.
Remodel truckstop wow its excellent the restrooms and showers are very elegant clean showers and restrooms. Till someone that still hasnt learned how the sprinkle correctly . Yet Man a train dog can do better then most humans what a shame. Sorry dont mean too. Offend anyone.Be Courteous about others. If its clean when you got on that toilet leave it clean. Someone with a kid my need the toilet. Some people being there kids with them into this truckstops. Dont sprinkle all over the sit. Step 1 lift the sit step 2 zip down an shot straight. Now is that to Difficult for you.A well the restaurant has good food big servings I like the ham and cheese omelet. With American fries. Big parking lot they charge I think its 10 bucks ii hope so. I have aint stay there in good while. I try to find the pics for the showers and restrooms.Well its a nice truckstop keep it clean drivers. They went out there way to fix so elegant. Lets keep it that way. They did have too do all this. For the truckers and Anyone else that will visit this place. Thank you 55 so much for the excellent touch. This was my 2nd time stopping here 1st time just for a trailer washout and go.This wasnt my idle truck stop. Im use to Loves. 2nd time was 8/17 took my 10hour break loves was to far and I was running out of hour. When people say dont judge a book by its cover this place is what there were Referring to. Very nice ladies that worked the fuel desk and the service desk were you get your showers and trailer washout receipts. The restaurant the was excellent!! Try the BLT Club. Drivers its not home but what truck stop is. They have everything you expect cigarettes you can work across the street for those. Stop by you want be disappointed believe that. Remember we move the world be safe Driver.
You expect us to pay 15 dollars for parking but Not yet parking lot is not well lite to park. Lot is slippery all filled with snow so you going to pull us out if we get stuck highly doubtful.. also trailers that are not hooked to a semi scattered everywhere. ever think about designated parking for that also Bobtail its ok for them to hog every parking space so people with loaded trailers can actually park where they need to. If you loose your ticket we have to pay 300 dollars bout as bad as the Petro station in Atlanta Georgia loose the ticket 275 money hungry people
Dont waste your time TRYING to get a washout at this place. Youll be waiting line for two hours with absolutely NO estimates on time or explanations and then give up and go one mile south to Lolas Truck Wash at 1331 North Independence Blvd, Romeoville Ill., 60446 and pay LESS and get done FAST.
Had a sad burger for dinner. My companion had an extremely sad meat loaf. The veggies tasted like belly button funk and the mashed potatoes were watered down and a weird color. Their breakfast was, in contrast, pretty good. Server was spunky and friendly. Great shower upstairs, safe (but not free) tractor/trailer parking out back.
Had a great first time experience here. Bathrooms are clean and modern, food at the diner was delicious. Friendly staff and clean environment. Will come again if Im ever in the area. Parking is also free for the first 3 hours for truckers, but will cost you $300 if you lose your ticket.
Restaurant was decent I just had the wings and fries, but this truck stop gets 2 stars because of my experience this morning this fat white followed around the store from the back where there are the drinks all the way back towards the register as if I wanted to steal something, I acknowledge the whole thing I was about to confront him but I know myself that wouldn’t have been good, so watch out for this guy following especially if your of color
Just feel the $$$$ floating out your wallet the sec you pull in off 53 they dont give u a break on anything. Efs check cashed free everywhere else with fuel purchase but not here.. Even with my fuel purchase i paid $6 to cash. Coffee $4 FOR A FRIGGIN REFILL!!! DONT GET MY STARTED ON PARKING LOL they were towing a guys truck and trailer for being parked passed the allowed time . FIRST AND LAST TIME IM EVER COMING HERE.Im sorry for being so negative but o just doin feel this place appreciates truckers .
Stay here quite often even though its $15 a night parking. They have renovated the bathrooms and the showers 100% improvement from what it used to be! hot water was hot though it needed a little more pressure. Customer service has improved greatly as well. Same ol menu items with smaller portions and of course that high Chicago price hasnt gone anywhere! Not the best but better than most Pilots & Js
Beautiful environment the place is so clean that I hope they reword this young man has dedicated his time in cleaning God bless him greatly the showers are speechless.Toilets as well.I give him a 10 star. This place made my day so relaxing with the gospil music i wouldnt want to leave .Dinner was great the waitress was as well super sweet as she can be.God bless everyone I will come again
First time I didn’t leave a tip. I didn’t feel comfortable tipping for no service, or acknowledging my presence as a customer. But homey comes strolling into restaurant and I’m placed in the back of line. I normally tip 50-100% sometimes more for pregnant women or older ladies who been there done that and know how to get things done. This waitress was just, I’ll get to you when I can but I’m busy here! Duh! That’s why people come here, to eat and you SERVE them, thus good service, friendly atmosphere equals good tip and a job well done.
One of the nicest truck stops. Everything was excellent. Showers were incredibly nice. As much as I hate the Chicago area no issues if Im able to shut down there. Not too happy with the parking price but that probably wont change. Hopefully the parking fee will go towards more necessities for drivers. 🤞
Great truck stop! Awesome food and attentive wait staff in the restaurant, and you cant overstate the important of friendly smiling faces at the diesel desk and at the parking attendant booth! I always try to stop in for a bite to eat at the very least, and all the big cities have paid parking places. Its a small price to pay for peace of mind and peace and quiet!
My one complaint? Paid parking, its unnecessary, and will turn away people more than anything else. On the other hand, the staff is amazing, super friendly both in the restaurant and in the store. The highlight for me though, was the BEAUTIFUL showers. I was amazed and in awe at the beauty of them. I might have even given 5 stars if not for the fact that there was no floor towel provided, and the wash rag was a shop rag?? That aside it was a great experience I will be back for sure!
Very nice truck stop. Has everything a driver needs. It does not deal in tobacco or alcohol though.if you want these products you will have to look elsewhere. The owner has spent a great deal of time and money renovating the inside. I have been coming here for over a decade and its alot better then it used to be. The staff are always friendly. They work hard trying to keep inside clean as well using bleach and disinfect. It may cost to park, shower etc. and food may be more expensive then McDonalds or Arbys at major truck stop but you get what you pay for. It is peaceful here and plenty of parking and there isnt a long wait to use shower, do laundry, fuel etc. like at major truck stop.
Arived around noon and there was a ton of parking. Its $13.00 for 24 hours, after 3 hours. The lot could use a cleaning and so could the outside of the building. I got breakfast to go from the restaurant and it was great. Waitress was nice and friendly. All in all, not a bad place.
Edit to add: I was here a week ago! I didn’t have to put up with the heavier set woman, so everyone else was really nice! But the smell outside is horrible! Something needs to be fixed, I hate having to hold my breathe until I get inside so I can try to avoid the smell!!The food was pretty good! Kinda different to have sausage gravy on chicken fried steak, but still good with lots of flavor! Bathroom and showers were pretty nice! But I felt like every employee had an attitude! The heavier set lady was very rude. We did not feel welcomed, and felt as if we were bothering her!I think I’ve dealt with nicer and friendlier cashiers in California at their truck stops then the service I got here!If we return, it’ll be to only do take out on food.
Visited briefly. Clean updated bathrooms. German food on shelves. Interesting little truck stop. Has a restaurant, but we did not eat there. So not sure about the food. Looked nice enough. Parking is $12 & if you lose your parking ticket its $300 per sign when exiting the parking lot.
Updating my review from 5 stars to 3 stars because I cant figure out how to make a new one. The trailer washouts have been really slacking the last few months. I carry nursery and my trailer gets pretty dirty so I am understanding if stuff gets missed, but its everytime the last 4 or more washes. And I will mention to make sure they get whatever part they missed last time, only for them to miss a different area this time. This has been my spot for 3 years now, might be time to move on. I shouldnt have to climb up in my trailer to wipe mud out of my tracks, or off my walls, or under my load locks, or off my doors. Thats what I pay u guys to do.With that said, still good customer service, good food, nice and clean bathrooms, fuel prices usually on the lower side, and lots of parking for free first 3 hours, or if u buy 50 gal fuel or $75 in shop or store. $12 if not.
The only reason they got a 3-star is they are trying to remodel it for the better. They also have a bigger array of food that you can make in your truck than most truck stops, which is nice. Here is some things that are wrong:-The area behind this place smells. Really really bad. I almost threw up in my mask.-The restaurant is not open on weekends.-Their fuel aisle only partially works.-The ticket thing does not take card, so you have to go inside to pay. If you lose your ticket, be prepared to pay $300.-Showers are $15, which is normal, BUT you have to pay $1 extra for a towel. The towels are a bit damaged, so it just doesnt seem worth it.
Great stop for the night. 12 for parking is cheap for Chicago. Plenty of parking at 7pm on Friday night. Staff are friendly. Fantastic pizza spot across the street. If you are good at frogger you will get the pie.Could use some breakfast but coffee is good. Will be back soon.
REPAIR SHOP REVIEW: Do Not use their repair shop!!!! They did an all change on 2014 Volvo with D13 engine, They charged me $450, They didnt lubricate truck and chasis at all, And they added 2 gallons of oil over the maximum line on your oil level stick!!! Do you even know what that means if somebody put you 2 gallons over maximum !?? That means that at oil will need to go out somewhere, That means that oil will go out thru engine gaskets through your exhaust etc! Thats something you do only to your worst enemy. I put the truck back in shop to drain down the oil, End as an excuse for not lubricating the truck they said they run out of the grease, Can you even imagine that? And you can do the PM and not telling me that you did that lubricate the truck and charge me enormously high price or $450 ???Wow, Never again. And yes dont even bother to wash your truck there, They will take you $35 in your truck will be exactly the same dirty as it was when you came in. They dont use shampoo and they do not use Brightner.
A place to sleep if you ran out of hours. Unlike ta and petro in major cities such as baltimore, atlanta, la and such they require you fill up atleast 75 bucks for free parking, even wifh a 50 fill up and spending over 40 bucks in the store they wouldnt give free parking or a discount. 300 bucks if you loose the ticket when you enter the property, in all honesty the speedway across the street is better with free parking, cheaper fuel price and better variety of items in the store than this place. Wont be staying or stopping here again.
Parking $12 for 24 hours. Huge lot. Will cash a com check. Keep your parking ticket. If you have to weigh a few times use weighmytruck app iincase the printer for the scale ticket jams. There is a weigh station 2 miles south on 55 so if you need to weigh coming up from below exit 263 go south. Its nostalgic. If youre not in a rush with a weight specific load its a really cool place to take a 10.
I will give credit where credit is due, they havent gone too greedy with the parking rates, unlike some other places. $12 a day. No tobacco sold here, so bring your own. They recently renovated, so it is better inside. Restaurant is good, but on the high side price wise. Washout available here. They take EFS and Comdata checks for it.
This place is okay I guess, you pay 12$ to park over night unless you buy 75 gallons of fuel or purchase 75$ worth from the store or restaurant. I would recommend NOT eating at the Americana restaurant. The salad bar was horrible and the food I ordered had no flavor except salt. Not worth the money if youre looking for a meal. The waitress was very sweet though.
Great place to fuel and eat. I have been eating here for years. Wait staff treats everyone really good. They treat me like family. *100%paid parking*.$12 per 24 hours. *Free if you buy 75 gallon or more fuel*. Restaurant is not 24/7. 6 AM to 10 pm I think. 🐱 CAT scale. 3 hours free parking anytime. They keep the dropped trailers towed off so there is always parking available.
Beautiful but Pricey. Small selection of food but a large variety of items that I dont normally see at other truck stops. Wasnt happy about paying $12 for parking Especially since the area isnt secure. It cost over $3 to refill my 52 ounces fountain pop (normally at least half that price). I didnt eat at the restaurant but the food smelled amazing. Also there is a minimum purchase of $5 in order to pay by credit card. Oh and dont lose your ticket. I seriously hope they dont impose the $300 fine
Great Place! I stopped late at night after having one of those horrible days on the road. I had nothing to eat all day. I go inside and found out the restaurant was closed. So while I looked around to find something to eat. Jeff, one of the workers was extremely helpful and kind. While talking to him I found out he was a Teamster and is definitely a Chicagoan. You know the stereotype of a rough and tough guy. He was one of the kindest guys I have ever met! He went the extra mile making sure I had food and napkins. Mallory came over and helped as well. She gave me instructions on how to microwave the food. They actually offered to cook it for me.Gestures like that go a long ways.It really turned my horrible day around. They made me feel like a VIP and the only customer they had. I went back to my truck and eat my food. Got up and went in to the store to get a shower. Very nice Shower and Clean! When I got out of the shower and was leaving. I heard Christian music playing. I love it! It put me in the right mood to conquer the day!I highly recommend this place!
I rated this truck stop a 3. There is a lot of parking and paying for it does not bother me. The inside is not very big and not as clean as others have mentioned. The showers were ok. I did like the overall modern look, but the lighting was not great and there was no fan. I also am not a fan of truck stops using shower curtains, its unsanitary and they tend to smell. The restaurant was good, big portions. I did enjoy all the staff I encountered while here. They all seemed happy and a few even had a good sense of humor. I also do feel they could have more washers and dryers.
Not bad for greater Chicago area. $12/day parking and a $300 fine for losing a parking ticket is a bit ridiculous. Diner inside had pretty decent burgers, prices are a bit high for the slim frozen patties they use. Clean restrooms, some repair services, fuel, bulk DEF, decent driver lounge upstairs. Over all not bad. Coffee leaves a bit to be desired in the flavor department, as it is quite acidic and does not have much flavor. Folks inside are friendly enough.
Dont waste your time this truck stop is garbage. Parking cost $12. Which is fine, a lot of trucks stops charge to park overnight. If you lose your ticket they charge $80. Showers cost $15 and and only go down to $10 after 50 gals of fuel. I can go to any TA and get a free shower after 60 gals. The shopping center and food selection is terrible. They dont use weigh my truck app. A truck stop that size should have more than 2 washers and dryers, plus there is people waiting at the top of the stairs of the drivers lounge waiting to sell you things you dont want or already have. I now understand completely why most truckers would never recommend this place to another trucker
Charge to park. Parking lot is a disaster. Trash all over the place. Scales are not on the Cat Scale app system so you must go park and walk inside. I’ve eaten in the restaurant and the food was good for a truck stop. If the business charges you to park they should clean up this dump and make it safe instead of pocketing the money.
The staff are all real nice here. They have everything. Parking is $12 or 75 gallons of fuel or $75 of purchases. The food is excellent but is very EXPENSIVE! Highest restaurant prices Ive seen in years. The salad bar isnt up to 21st century choices. I.E. Spaghetti Dinner is $14 and add $2 for salad or soup. Crazy. When I was in the restaurant there were 3 other customers and this was at 615 pm weekday. Parking lot full. Yes they know they have a captive market but, these prices are why truck drivers go to the grocery store and microwave in the truck. Very sad. Cant get over $16 Spaghetti with 1970s salad bar. Some people just dont get marketing, volume and the profit thereof.
Great place to stop. Restaurant was clean and decorated nicely. Food was delicious and piping hot. Not overpriced. Best waitress weve had in any restaurant in months. Bathrooms were spotless. No cigarettes sold here. Lots of gifty type stuff. 3 hours of free parking for semis.
I used your services on 9-28-2020I requested an oil and filters change, for which I paid $529.81.At first my driver a little concerned that the person working on the truck kept asking for directions from another worker, which sounded like he didn’t know what he was doing. None the less we waited for the result because the truck stop looks professional. The truck took off for a 6 hour drive and when it was back to your same truck stop, it didn’t start, seemed like it had air in the fuel system. So we approached the shop again and the same worker filled the filters and said it would be ok now.Wrong, I have paid over $300 now for on road service to take the truck to a shop in Miami, to find out that the procedure made on the fuel filters was done incorrectly and now I have to pay for an extra $250 to have it done again. Now I have paid more than $550 for a job poorly executed at your shop, I need to be reimbursed or compensated for your mistakes made on my truck. If you need documented support of all I´m writing about, I can send it to an email any time you need.Hope to hear from you soon.
They say you have 3 hours free. Or spend $75.00. I had a trailer wash out. They charged 60. 00 + 12.00 because past free time. Not my fault because Im waiting in line. And they only have one person washing trucks and trailer wash out. I will not be going back. Its convenient. But not the cheapest and they dont use deodorizer. The lady didnt want to hear anything about line. So I will take my trucks else wear. Nasty attitude any way.
Wouldve got 6 stars but......Parking is only 12.00!!!!!!!!!!Food is reasonably price and very tasty!!!!!!But.....YOU GOTTA SINCERELY HOLD YOUR BREATH AND DO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT, LOOK AT THE BACK OF THE BUILDING area. Did I mention hold your breath as you pass the back of the building and storage and garbage areas.Cheap parking and great food!!!!!
Amazing place to go, if you need something its here. No really, new mattress for the truck, theyve got you! Eat at the restaurant, worth the cost and the service is great! Yes, truckers have to pay for parking but its cheaper than pilot and very quiet! Look, being in Chicago this place is perfect worth the time. Also, a lot of stuff is on sale so grab it while ya can.
My fellow truckers if you looking for a spot for parking it’s the place always you find a parking ,yes the cost is $12 for 24 hours ,it’s cheaper for me because i pay more in other places where no have restaurant, clean restrooms and the personal has been rudeThe restroom was amazing (very clean) and very important not missing you parking ticket otherwise you pay $300 For that I give 4 stars ,however I recommend this place
12 dollars to park, which is fine, but at 6am you cant get into the store to use the restroom because theyre cleaning it, doors on the exterior locked? WTH? You have all night to clean, disinfect, the place, and youre doing when guys want to get inside so they can leave.
Yes, they are overpriced and they do charge for parking if youre there for more than 3 hours. Yes, the lot could use some work BUT.... its still one of the better truck stops Ive been to and I would return anytime Im nearby. The food is phenomenal and homemade, inside is always clean, the staff has always been friendly and helpful, and the food is always fresh... If the food looks old and YOU ACTUALLY POINT IT OUT TO SOMEONE WHO WORKS THERE... They will do what needs done and get you fresh food, if need be. Those who dont like this place and bash it couldnt have been to very many REALLY CRAPPY truck stops.... This isnt one of those but it also isnt a chain truck stop with the money to throw around either... They rely on the money they make to be able to stay open and do what needs done!!! If they were horrible, they wouldnt still be open and getting as much business from truckers and locals alike as they do. That being said, dont knock them if youve only been here once or twice... It may have just been a bad day!! We all have those.
Guys! I was shocked by the towel I got for my shower! It was dirty, bleached, torn with holes , disgusting!!! I’ve never seen anything like this! Is it too much to get new towels for $3? I paid $15 for my shower! The shower itself is in more or less good shape, not really clean. I wouldn’t go back here again. Pictures attached
I was thankful to have this place to overnight as I couldnt load until the next morning. Without their parking system, I believe the lot would always be full with freeloaders. With a 75 gallon diesel purchase, 24 hour parking is free. Dont lose your entry ticket though, or they may impose an $80 fine. The grounds are well maintained (not full of trucker garbage like most truck stops).Discounted shower only - the $10 shower is discounted to $5 with 50 gallons or more diesel purchase. The shower was definitely worth paying the $5 though (remodeled with cool fixtures/decor, clean and good water pressure).Restaurant had a limited but good salad bar (no soup on the salad bar though). Dont order the steak fajita! Mine was almost inedible, full of fat and gristle with a rubbery texture and little taste. I should have stuck with the usual hard to screw up burger and fries. For this reason, I rate the restaurant at 2 stars. The coffee was okay, but it could have been better. In the morning, I discovered the truck stop side coffee was much better than the restaurant coffee from the previous afternoon. They had fresh pastry (excellent apple fritters). I also bought a Made in the USA chain drive wallet (had a chain you could actually trust not to break). The staff was friendly with a good sense of humor and they appeared to all be good dutiful workers. I will return, but Im going to be much more cautious of what I order in the restaurant!
This facility has no respect for driver, they price gouge, everything is over priced. They wont even give you a free cup of ice, 75 cents. Oil, fuel treatment, antifreeze is higher than other truckstops.I bought a container of macaroni salad and got sick and had to park for an entire day, I couldnt even take care of my dogs. When I started puking, I tasted mayonnaise.Showers are $15, they claim because their showers are SPA LIKE. I wanted to experience this wonderful shower. They are beautiful, but FREEZING.The laundry room is dangerous. It is a step up and when I was getting into the dryer, I stepped back and fell off the platform and twisted my back.I ate at the restaurant and ordered Jacks Steak. The meat had a bad taste, so I sent it back. The next steak was no better. It was pricey so I sent it back and ordered a burger and requested it cooked medium. It was over cooked and tasted like cardboard.Parking is $12 and there is plenty of it. However if you want to drop a trailer, it is $35! I wanted to go see a movie and they would not budge. Instead they threatened to tow my trailer if I dropped it for a few hours.I was going to fuel in the morning. So I would have spent at least $650, fuel, over night parking, and meals.
Love the food, showers are nice, parking is no longer a big dirt lot. Lost a star due to the scale ticket hike all the way to the gas side to get it. Why no weigh my truck app? Lost another star due to the heavy toll for one night. The price of parking is outrageous after spending money on a scale, shower, and got food shouldn’t that be enough. I get charging for folks who come in and take up space and don’t spend a dime but us folks that spend almost 50 bucks here should be considered as parking paid. Present receipt for scale, food, and shower boom done that’d be nice.
Price-gouge capital of the U.S.A., nice restaurant, gaudy decorations throughout, weird burning dust smell, dangerous truck parking with heaps of salvage strewn about and if you lose your parking ticket it is a 300 dollar fine. Still trying to figure that one out.I stopped here due to the weather for a day but really regret not just moving on. Horrible experience, business shouldnt be about squeezing every dime you can get out of your customers. Hope a real truck stop comes and runs your place out of business.
Lots of parking was the only good thing about this place. I have shower power with pilot and flying j, havent paid for a shower in years, this place is 15 bucks, are you crazy?? I brought my daughter with me and paid 25 dollars for us to shower.. we had to walk to Dennys cuz the restaurant closed at 9pm. Truckers arent rich, this place is overpriced in every way, minimum charge to use your debit card, all I wanted was an over priced coffee and had to buy something else to reach my minimum. This was my first and last time here. Pay for parking or 75 gallons.. crazy.. I will drive anywhere and as long as I have to, too not have to stop here again. Thanks for making my first experience a bad one i-55.. Im very laid back and never give bad reviews, but this place was hard not to...
Been here alot, yes its pricey so plan accordingly. Its been remodeled so its very clean, theyve cut way down on the excessive stock so its easier to navigate around the stop. Always parking until around 8pm then good luck. Pay to park is $12.00. I got ham and cheese on Texas toast with cup of homemade chicken soup, coleslaw and fries with sweet tea= $11 and change. I shower and fuel elsewhere but new pumps being installed now. No roaming security with car traffic getting under barriers so secure your truck and load when not in it.
I dont really dislike this place but the store is very expensive, and mostly the reason for two stars is they require a $75 dollar purchase in store or fuel to park free so you are going to buy whatever in the store and still pay $12 to park unlike other pay to park truck stops where your purchases count toward that parking fee. As I said annoys about a week ago they raised the parking fee to $12 and if you scale a load here bring cash for it because you cannot pay with a credit card, fuel card, debit card or check of any kind, they only accept cash for scales for some reason. The diner is reasonably priced and does have pretty good food.
This place is great! Its a bit pricey, considering I spent $12 for parking, $10 for a shower, and about $20 on dinner, but the food was good, the shower was hot and clean, and the parking lot had tons of spots. On the other hand, laundry was half the price I normally pay at PFJ. Considering that it was very close to my delivery the next morning, it was a winner for me.
The restaurant is very good for the basics but the truck stop gouges drivers for everything including the parking. For all that is holy do not lose your parking ticket. Its 300 dollars if you do. Dont bother buying equipment or supplies in the truck stop. Its overpriced.
Its a good truck stop with plenty of fuel pumps and big concrete parking lot. Clean restrooms. They dont have windshield washer and wipers at the fuel islands. Parking is free for 3 hours. To get free parking for long time you need to spend either $75 in store or shop purchases or you have to get 75 gallons of fuel. Otherwise $12 for 24 hours parking.
Johnny the Mechanic is great. One man show basically. So there will be a wait but he is good. Extremely fair. The Fuel desk friendly but Slow. Small but coszy tv room. Trucker lounge bathrooms nice. Take care of them. $12 parking after 3 hrs. Free with x gal of fuel.
I hate giving negative ratings but this place sucks, it has nothing to do with paying for parking. Unfortunately both times Ive been here theyve been inadequately staffed, and the service just isnt great, its not bad but it could be better. Need cigarettes, better fit your 73 foot truck in the BP across the street because this place doesnt sell them, apparently the owner wants to play the greater good card and make the truckers healthier. Also the cat scale will not work with the app, so have fun navigating through the half truck stop/construction zone to get your scale ticket. Anyways sorry for the negativity but this place sucks and just really isnt worth the hassle of stopping for in my opinion.
Not a bad truck stop. Always plenty of parking (only pd). Good choices inside shop. Its a Christian store so no tobacco products. Nice ,cute staff. Have not tried restaurant. Lot is dark and can have lizards from time to time to bring place down. Lot is clean for most part. A lot better now then in past.
The food is great here and for a very good price! They give you what you pay for, and its so delicious! Coffee is done right as well. I highly recommend eating at the restaurant. They also have shoe lace here too if you need it. These are really cool people too, very friendly and real.
The pumps are very slow, it takes a while to get filled up. But staff are pretty friendly, parking is good and but it will cost 12$ if you don’t get at least 75 gallons of fuel. Showers are absolutely trash, Unsanitized and you’ll probably catch stds showering here. cost 10-15$ depends if you got more than 50 gallons of fuel.
The waitress here at nights is rude and just pulls my cup away without asking for me to pick up my from leaning on it and than doesnt ask what kind of meat I wanted for my hot open face sandwich, manager didnt really wanna do a whole lot about it!! Will never come back here I would have rather at in the truck than spending money here!!
Great staff. Bathrooms and Showers are cool and eclectic. Store has been slowly remodeled over the years and is beginning to take shape. Love the European food options in the store such as Milka Candy from Germany! Also, try the signature John Steak, love those jalapeños!
Will not visit again. Pay to park. Doesnt sell tobacco products, shelved food item selection is pathetic, restaurant closes at 11 PM. Chicago and 2.5 miles from my drop so I pulled in. Remembered as I pulled in that it was pay to park having visited once before to scale a load. If your clock is running out its a place to go but honestly I kind of wished Id have driven out of the city and found truck stop instead of using this place. Woman at the counter was polite and courteous though, very pleasant.
To be honest. Parking is a little unkempt and cramped for a pay to park site. The travel store is a tad bit over stocked with merch which only leaves a small walking path through the store and the coffee at times tastes burnt. But the staff is 100%. The shower facilities are epic and nice little hang out room with a free gym. The food is also something to praise. But why no cigarettes? They say for religious reasons but in the time of Jesus hemp was smoked.
The guys at the service center were awesome! Great customer service!I had an inverter installed in my Semi, I searched around and couldnt find anyone to do it. Not TA, Petro, Loves, etc. These guys put in my 3000Watt inverter in about an hour and a half, they charged me 400 for the inverter and install. They didnt even charge extra for the good cables they used to install it.They checked every cable to make sure they were secure and didnt come undone causing a fire hazard down the road. They do yearly inspections and PMs cheaper than the others, they seem like they will do anything you need them to do on your truck.I will be back for all my service needs on my Semi! Not a paid person, I just stopped there Sunday 3/31/19.Great job guys, I said I would give you guys a great review.Sincerely, Leah N.
Great place. The truck stop may be old but well kept up. The parking lot needs some work and PLEASE repaint the lines. It is very hard to see them since its pretty dark in the back. The staff is great and the restaurant is wonderful, just would love to see some selections from the area.
$6.00 for a 12oz cup of soup !Yes they are over priced and rarely good food and pd parking. Anyone want to know why they are still in business? Tell us truckers where else safe we have to go? This place is in business because we have no where else with a large lot in the Chicago land area to park.It is so christian of you to treat people this way so you can make another buck. I say christian because thats how they appear playing godly music and such. I WAS a regular customer but from now on Ill use the lot and restrooms and pack all my own food.
This place is all right if you really need a place to stay. Watch out for the people that think theyre slick. They are everywhere but a little more brash here. They want to scope your jewelry out. So as they walk by you they whisper something just barely audible. Hopefully you will turn around and they can see your jewelry. Theyre supposedly concerned for your safety. They just looking out for you. Thats what they say.
Rude service everywhereNow from May 1st 2017 parking fee - $12/dayLost ticket $80. Every half year higher pricesA lot of accidents happened here.Be prepared for wake up without diesel or some outside parts of the truck like mirrors, headlights, chains, tarps, any other equipment which is not locked.Cold water in the shower. No shower refund ($15)
Probably one of the more nicer truck stops Ive encountered over the years. Theres an upstairs lounge with a big screen HD TV, and fancy tiled showers. Theres also a huge store with a lot to select from if you ever need it. I didnt try the restaurant but that also looked like a comfy place to be after a long drive.
Dont force your beliefs on others. If I would have only known you didnt sell cigarettes, i would have never stopped. But because of government mandated hours and scares parking in your area. i couldnt just go somewhere else. The least you could do is advertise that you dont sell tobacco products. You like taking money for everything else, showers, parking etc. You make it dangerous for drives who have to cross the busy road just to buy cigarettes. Will you even feel bad knowing you were the cause of someone loosing their life because of your beliefs? If anyone gets hit I hope they sue you. This is discrimination! We will never be back.
No shower credit with fuel. Shower is $5 with 50+ gallons of fuel or its $10 with no fuel. No team shower even with fuel your second shower is $10. 3 hours free parking. $10 to park over 3 hours up to 24 hours or free with 75 gallons of diesel or $75 of in-store purchases. TV lounge and small fitness room upstairs. Restaurant is not half bad, try the mexican steak skillet.
For shitcago area it gets 5 stars, defiantly has been cleaned up over the years. Paid parking here and I hate the fact of paid parking but if they didnt youd never get a parking spot here. The restaurant is really good and the store has a lot of cool junk. Im a smoker and they dont sell tobacco here and its because of religious beliefs, even tho its inconvenient Im glad they can keep there morals even in buisness.
Nice truck stop. My dad used to come here years ago. I would have given 5 stars, except for some reason, the owner apparently doesnt recognize women as truckers! No ladies room upstairs in the truckers lounge! So ladies, we have to go back downstairs and wait to use the toilet if the general female visitors are already taking up space!
It is a truck stop, not a entertainment center or a shopping mall. Youll find all the usual things that a truck stop has. Fuel, Scale, Parking ($12/24hr or 75 gal fuel), Drivers Lounge, Restaurant, and retail (no alcohol and tobacco). If youre complaining about having to pay for parking - park on the side streets and get a ticket or have your truck towed (The city actually enforces it), or seek parking elsewhere. Theres always parking spots available, the back gravel lot is perfect if youre allergic to reefers.
Okay so its a little rough looking, but its a TRUCK STOP not one of those travel plaza chains. I like it. Lots of stuff on the store to look at and the prices are the same or lower than the chains. I had the salad bar and it was limited but fresh and really good. The prices are a bit high on food but its not a chain and the quality I saw was great. The bathrooms are beautiful and clean... even at $10 Id come back if in the area....
Food was ok but they charge for every little thing and they watch over you like a thief makes a person feel uncomfortable and made out to make you out to be a thief Ill never return there again. Good luck on who ever does go there. Grant you the food and place is clean but I dont like the idea of being watched like a hawk.
Pay to park. You have to go in the parking lot to use the cat scale. They only offer 32 oz cups for the fountain costing $2.69 before-tax with the smallest selection Ive ever seen. I got a flimsy peace of chicken with a single slice of American cheese on two soggy pieces of bread that cost $5. They have no lunch size chip bags available and what little chip selections they do have in full sizes are all off brand and way overpriced. At the end of my purchase I told the cashier to enjoy her day and the only response she could muster for me was ya. The worst truck stop Ive ever had the misfortune of giving my business to by a wide margin. I honestly hope they close because this business does not deserve to be in business.
Some staff is amazingly good. There’s a chatty waitress who loves feed back and good talk from truckers. There’s another waitress who could care less and you can tell that she doesn’t even want to be there.Up front you have lazy 20 something boys who stare at their phones during the entire shift they are working and have no clue about the going’s on around the truck stop. For instance they couldn’t tell me where the remote was for the TV in the gym and told me they “Heard that the TVs don’t work! Hahaha the Tv was working and On. This shows you how clueless and lazy this guy actually is.There is a Hispanic man here who I think is a good hard working man and the greatest asset in my view to this place. He is nice and courteous. He’s basically the wheels of this whole place. He is bussing tables, cleaning showers and taking out the trash and keeping the whole place swept and mopped! He needs help from other staff and a raise! The guy at the fuel desk although witty had no clue about The TV upstairs. This explains why the exercise equipment hasn’t been cleaned or is not maintained well! Same with the showers that they advertise at the fuel pumps as being *Spa Like” the water pressure sucks and the heads leak. It also takes several minutes to get the hot water up and running out of the shower head. I agree with other people talking about the prices. The food is over priced at least 2.00 and the items in the store are over priced as well. For instance Scale toy trucks are 39.00 or higher and they Ar 24-29.99 at most TA or PETRO truck stops. To end on a good note. They have pretty good cooks and the food is not that bad. Just do not order the month old frozen cakes. I tried both the flavorless cheese cake with fake blue berry topping infused with high fructose syrup and had the 4 Layer Chocolate cake that tasted very stale and the frosting again infused with way to much artificial sugar. (Wonder why truckers having health issues)I don’t mind paying for the parking because of the location but I don’t believe that just because they are the closest parking to a City filled with no parking ordinances that they should be extorting the truckers for a higher profit! “Buyers beware”.If they kept the place clean, the exercise room well maintained, hired better/ more involved front end staff (including paying them better) and brightened up the completely dark restaurant and made the merchandise prices a little more reasonable they could really improve to 4 -5 stars. If the owner reads this he should know better and he isn’t fooling anybody with 50 cents off a 15.00 meal as a special!I look forward to parking here in the future and hoping that they improve in these areas!
Stopping here does save time but you spend money here money there. Here are some pricing :Simi parking for a $24.00 for our 34hr break.Showers cost $15.00, you bring back the towels & key. u get$5.00 back. Dont not get shower #3, its so small you cant put your pants on in it. Shower #1 is the largest. There is no ceiling FANS for ventilation in the truckers lounge. Chairs are soft. TV atleast about 60. In order to get the remote, you give your i.d. As long as you seat and dont move around, youll be fine.2- washers $1.25 &2- dryers $1.25, their small but works GREAT.A great meal under $10.00, but remember its home-cooked big-mans meal.
Im rating the food 5 stars, the service from the ladies was outstanding, the only downside to the place is the cost of everything and dont think you can park for free. If you spend $75 or more you get to park without paying. Ill definitely park here again because of the food and service. Also the parking lot never filled up in the 24 hours I was there.
Overpriced, rude just what youd expect in Chicago. Whos giving this dump five stars? Must be people who work there. When it costs 15.00 for a shower and 12.00 to park your truck overnight, nothing in the restaurant is under 10.00. Mispriced and mislabeled products on the shelves. If Im going to spend top dollar I want top quality. This place isnt it.
Charge for parking yet doesnt clean snow adequately. Restaurant closes at night. Shop also closes at night but they wont even allow outside help if you get stuck in the snow in their janky parking lot while their shop is closed. Only staying because I am out of hours.
Its a pretty okay truck stop with a very large parking area for trucks. The store looks beautiful and you can pick out just about anything you need there, except cigarettes because apparently, and I quote, because this is a Christian store, if you want those then go across the streetI will not go back here if thats the attitude towards customers asking why a commonplace item isnt there.
Not bad but not great. Small non-Chain truckstop that has seen better days. They charge $10 for parking but considering the location thats not bad. Big lot and usually can get a spot. They have done quote a few updates, restrooms are pretty nice and clean. Restaurant is ok, food was decent service that I got for breakfast was excellent.
DisappointmentI have come here a number of times, however today I needed to drop my trailer for 45 min to go to the Walmart and get my prescription refilled...not only do they tell me no, but they were rude and quoted a $35 drop fee. When I asked to speak with a manager I waited 15 min while he was called twice only to be informed that he was to busy to come down. They wont be seeing my business any longer, which is a shame because I like staying at privately held truck stops.
Pulled in and immediately left. Half the gas pumps arent working due to construction...have to pay to park unless you buy 70 gallons worth of fuel, and being my hubby is a company driver we werent getting gas here. Hard to get out of parking lot. Is only truck stop in 20 miles, but will drive the extra miles to not have to stay here.
Great place, friendly staff. There is a reason that its pay to park, and thats so the hundreds of trucking companies in the area do not start dumping trucks there. There were at least 5 trucks in the lot with police tow stickers from the hacks that ditched their junk trucks in the parking lot.
Im giving it one star because of the cost to park. My husband and i was running out of hours from a live load and have to drop tommorw in kcmo so it was a close teuck stop for the time of day most start getting full around 4pm. We got there and its $12 to park or $75 in fuel or no fuel to park for free for a day and if you lose your ticket its a $300. We didnt wvem get out of the teuck we just decised to take the chance and go to a ta or petro. The fee alone drew us away from it to charge someone e00 foe losing or misplacing a ticket is beyond me. And the curb appeal wasnt good at all and the teuck parking was not very well paved or maintained. We didnt go inside so i cant comment on that but the cost alone is just out there for a teuck stop when i can go to a ta or petro and get a reserved spot for that cost, or evem at a flying j or pilot. And we work for a big company and they dont let use fuel just when ever or where ever so wr would even been able to do the 76 fuel for free parking and there is no way id spend 75 dollara to just park for free. And as we was leaving the guy at the exit gate had a additude with us becaise we wasnt even there 5 minutes before leaving. Sorry you didnt get you money not sorry.
Dont bother unless you have no choice. Youre better off paying to reserve a spot for the same price at a truck stop that owns a mop and some soap. This place isnt worth the fuel it takes to exit from I-55, let alone the price to park. Pay to park at the new QT in Northlake. Youll thank me.
Parking was an issue from all the repairs being done to the lot. The food was decent but pricy. The waitress was nice. The bathrooms were a mess and the general store was WAY overpriced. Its an okay place to stop given the location but they take advantage of being the only truck stop in the area.
Not the best truck stop. Noisy and the staff are not great. It is a very religious establishment so they dont even sell lighters. There is a good restaurant across the road call Fatty Magoos better to eat there as the food is better, the staff are nicer and its cheaper as well.
Not trucker working man friendly! Used to be a pilot. Google needs to update map. Place is awful. Charges for parking. This place charges for everything. And employees are lazy and rude to one another. Better to drive 5 or 6 miles back to pilot for free parking and rewards then be gouged in fees.
So I read some reviews here, didnt expect much when I came here to park, but I must admit they must have done some renovations and improvements in service. I cant say its 5 star restaurant service but it is not bad for a truck stop. Restrooms were clean and looking good, restaurant has decent food...
BECAREFUL PEOPLE!!!! VERY SHADY TRUCKSTOP!! these guys are very dishonest! we parked a Mercedes Sprinter Van on thier daily parking lot we spoke to the gaurd hack they told us no problem $12/day minimum of 3 days or more days anyways gaurdshack even told us where to park it an we got the ticket at the entrance when we entered .we came back 2 days later the vehicle was gone! we spoke to manager and he told us he had it towed because he wasnt sure who it was????!!! now we are stuck paying towing company $960 ! very rude/dishonest/liars!! i hope someone does the same thing to this manager! what they did is wrong an against the the law! if we got a ticket an permission to park an gaurdshack let us park in a spot thier should be no reason to TOW MY CAR!!!!
My God, a truck stop that has parking (first 3 hours are free) at 7:30 PM on a weeknight in Greater Chicago! I would have liked to try the dinner, but they close at 11:00 PM and open 6:00 AM. I guess they dont think Drivers work odd hours and leaving before 6:00 AM to avoid the Chicago rush hour? Ill have to find some other place to grab something to eat at 4:00 AM when I leave. They had some pre-made sandwiches too, but they didnt appeal to me.

2022-04-09The restrooms are very nice here. The store is what you should expect in the area. Didn’t use the shower so I can’t speak to those. Parking for the most part there is ample room to maneuver, first three hours are free, after that it is $15 per night. You pay when you exit you have to hang onto your ticket you get when you pull in. The overall vibe inside is fairly nice. The cashier was friendly and knowledgeable. The restaurant is not too bad pricewise. The food isn’t awful but if you’re not used to a lot of salt be prepared for salt.

2021-12-17I’m really not understanding the reviews being low and mad about parking. Haha this is a smaller owned stop, not one of the big 3. Everyone was super nice and we got free parking for fuel. It’s also a mudflap stop, so we were able to save on fuel as well.If you’re mad about paying to park or having to get fuel to park, just stick to the corporate stops. 🙄Food was delicious, bathrooms were nice and clean. I was very surprised with the decor. Haha loved it. Didn’t shower on this go round, but talked to drivers who said it was nice as well. They have a shop if needed and a washout. Store had lots of options for food, clothing and equipment if needed. We will definitely be back.

2022-03-10HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE...The parking lot is $15 for 24 hours, and if you drop a trailer youre guaranteed to have it towed. Now, theres a $40 fee to keep your trailer there should you need to bobtail somewhere. Inside the customer service is horrible. There is a hispanic woman there at the register named Maria who totally lacks customer service skills, is extremely rude and treats people in such a disrespectful way, I am 100% sure she didnt grow up in a nice neighborhood. The showers there are awful, theres no hot water, again, theres no hot water, and if youre lucky to get some itll take about 20 minutes for the water to warm up. The bathrooms are just so basic, and I must remind you, it costs $15 to shower there. Those showers are dirty, the lights dont work, dirty soaps all over. It is just ghetto. I honestly feel like Ive gotten herpes from there. I asked for a refund on the spot, and that woman Maria has the audacity to tell me did you break the light switch? Oh nobody complains about the showers... Seriously? TA is 100% better. Id definitely stay away from this place.

2022-03-24Updated from three star neutral review to a four star. The shop and inside is nice enough, bathroom decor is nice, clean enough, no paper towels (understandable), bathroom could use a deep clean every now and then. The shower is nice, $10 with fuel, youll likely never see the unique decor anywhere else. Restaurant is good. The meatball sub from the hotbox was alright, but wont be getting it again. There are a lot of oddball foods to be found here, the pickled quail eggs were good. At least 75 gallons of fuel to park for free, otherwise spend at least $75 inside, I think it is free parking for a couple hours.

2021-10-16The place was unsanitary. If you were on the outside youre mostly afraid to go inside without a mask. I ordered food and can only say it was okay. Not bad not good. The sign about parking was absolutely ridiculous.

2022-04-08Yesterday (04/06/22) I refueled disla at this gas station, drove 814 miles and the engine started to go out for me, I checked the fuel and Im shocked, someone refilled the gun, I had to pump out 170 gallons and replace the filters. Stay away from these scammers.

2022-05-21So far the best truck stop in Illinois. Prices are great and it is good organized. It can be overfilled with garbage sometimes but having in mind the amount of people go there every day Id say they are doing good job keeping it clean.
