My sister and I both got haircuts. Both by different stylists. Her bob is uneven and too short and my bangs are cut 3 different lengths. My hair has 3 very distinct layers that are ALL not okay. Guys can go here just fine but ladies STAY AWAY!
Terrible experience.I went here to get my first real haircut since 2009. Between 2009 and now I had lost my hair from chemo about 2 years ago and it had finally grown back too far past my shoulders for it to be comfortable. It looked sloppy and I wanted something more shoulder-length or just above my shoulders. I was really, really excited that I could finally get a nice cut to style out and be beautiful again.I sat down and told the lady that I hadnt had a hair cut in 2009 so if Im doing something wrong then to just let me know. She said nothing in response to that. I followed up saying that I had shaved my hair 2 years ago (look, I dont want everyone knowing my medical business so I say I shaved it, not lost it from the chemo because then people start asking and it makes me uncomfortable) so I apologized if it was hard to work with. She ignored that too and just asked me what I wanted done. I said...Well, its too long for me now. Like I said, I shaved my head about 2 years ago so its really messy. Im thinking to my shoulders or maybe just a little above. But not a blunt cut, I dont like blunt cuts. If you could do some layering that would be so nice. I just dont want a blunt cut.I felt her start snipping way too high onto my neck right away but I let it go. I have a lot of social anxiety and, like I said, I havent been to a hair salon for a decade. I didnt want to make a fuss and it turn out to not be fuss-worthy, right? So, I quietly sat. Wrong decision on my part.I was getting really nervous about the cut and I knew I had started sweating from my anxiety. So, I said, Im sorry, I have anxiety and I know Im gross. She replied, Its okay. And that was literally all of the conversation we exchanged. She did not even smile during the cut so it was just really weird and I felt like a massive inconvenience to this lady. I want to believe that she was just having an absurdly bad day.But its worse. She cut my hair up ABOVE MY CHIN. In, if you couldnt guess, A BLUNT CUT. At the end she said, Hows that? and I said, Oh, okay, thats fine, okay...thank you. and that was it. No more words exchanged with this lady. I mean, what was I going to do at that point anyway? Demand she glue my hair back on? The damage had been done with the first snip, I knew, so at that point it was silly to tell her I didnt like it.You know whats weird though? I can feel that the sides are longer than the back. I wonder if I look crazy to other people? Whatever though.Im really upset because...my hair, you know? I already lost it once. It took me 2 years to get it back to a length I could get a style with and...now I have to wait for this to grow out and I think thats going to be maybe 6 months? I dont know, I feel very stupid for going here.I wont return to this location. They didnt listen to me. The hair stylist was not friendly.
So I called this establishment at 3:30pm wanting to make an appointment to get my daughters haircut after her Special Olympics bowling practice because she has school pictures tomorrow, the lady on the phone told me that there was no appointment necessary that I was able to walk in so at 5:30, I called to let them know that I’m on my way, mind you they don’t close till seven, but when I called at 5:30 they informed me that you have to have at appointment and they quit taking appointments at 5 o’clock.. what the heck?!?!?
I didnt even get a chance to have an opinion about the haircuts as the customer service was extremely poor. I took both my kids and myself in for a simple cut the dead ends off sort of hair cut. The lady, I believe her name was Samantha didnt even welcome me in or say hi.....instantly she wanted my last name, my phone number and was very short......I wanted to walk out then...but i felt maybe I was being to quick to judge.....So i walked back with my 4 year old, got her set up in the chair.....and then the lady was going to educate me on how I needed to cut all her hair off because it was all split and needed to start bringing her in every few weeks until all the dead ends where gone.....this was said in a very arrogant poor way....but i thought okay keep being respectful........then I ask my daughter if she wanted me to record her getting her hair cut......and the lady....instantly and rudely said, No, I dont want to be recorded. I never said anything about recording her, she could have nicely stated she didnt want to be in any recordings if I took them......She was very petty, very rude, treated me like crap in front of my daughters and husband.....So I said a few choice words, non cursing but I let her know she had made us feel like dogs the way she was acting and talking......and she responded with well sorry i made you feel that way, very sarcastically....I got my kids and husband out of there....No way was that lady touching any of our hair.......and unfortunately Ill never know anything about how the company or haircuts are.......because I will not be going back.
Very good about asking my 11 year old granddaughter how she wanted her hair cut and checking with her periodically to see if changes were needed. Would recommend
Fill in for work here, my home store is in Normal, IL. But just as equally great very much a family oriented salon. But anyone is welcome and will be fine with getting their hair cut by the stylists. If youre in a hurry theyre pretty fast too.
I take my man here every time he needs his hair cut. Why? Might you ask when your giving a 2 star review. One he has to have his hair cut right now cant set up an appointment and they do walk in cuts. Two every time we go he tells the woman cutting his hair the truth with me standing right their his hair must still be pullable on top because I like to pull it in the bed room. For the woman to then get too hands on with my mans hair. Hello I am right their can pull it myself. Also have watched them skip people on their wait list for others or completely remove them and re add them after taking the person they want to take. Also have watched them cut peoples hair the way they want not the way they where asked too. Yes if your a guy and want your hair cut I have seen lots of great cut walk out but I dont see women in their unless they are with their man. But from the way they treat you with straight to name and number no hello when you walk in to when you pay not giving you your penny change. I must say the only thing they have going for them is hair coupons in the mail and walk in welcome on the door for when my man say he needs the cut today or he will cut it himself and I will have to take him any ways to this place for a cut.
Had an incident where my hair got caught in a small engine. I was upset since Ive been growing it for 7 years or so, but Lexie was great! She was nice and professional, and made my hair look great!
I drive about 40 mins away just to get my hair cut here. Such a great atmosphere and great employees..Idk how it happens but I usually end up with bailey cutting my hair....bailey is amazing and always does a great job when she cuts my hair. Shes a rockstar. She deserves a raise..I will always make that drive to get my hair cut. Keep up the great work to all you lovely women that work there.. :) :)
Jonathan is GREAT!!!! I love my hair color and cut!! He made sure he was giving me the look I wanted. I am very pleased and will defiantly be seeing him again for my next hair cut! Very nice, social and funny!
My son has Autism and they were getting frustrated with him and felt that that they were being discriminate against him. Do not go here if you have special needs children. They will treat them like garbage. I hope everyone sees this.
I usually get this one gal that cuts my hair. Always pleased. This time I got some real young gal and evidently we werent on same page . My haircut wasnt at all on how we discussed to cut it. I went home and cried
I am regular customer here.Today was my worst experience with Courtney Hair stylist. It feels like she used to work for landscaping company before. Next time will go to lockhart its just 3 more dollar but they are hair stylist.
I brought my 5 year old to them for a hair cut and a lining they made his lining Crooked and when i brought it to their attention they were very rude never again

2022-04-21I love the ladies at our local Great Clips! Our entire family uses their services. I have an autistic son and he is not big on haircuts, but the ladies are so patient with him. He is now used to going and they take their time with him.

2021-07-31Not very happy with the staff tonight I rushed home from work and drove 20 minutes to get here came running in the door at 5:51 PM and there were 2 people in the chairs and no one waiting.. Within about a minute the one was done and the girl said she couldnt take me because she had to leave RIGHT at 6 and the other one did also. I explained to her that I had driven 20 minutes to get there but that didnt make any difference. Her plans were definitely more important then giving me a haircut. I work at a lumberyard and we would never treat customers that way. If our sign says open until 5:00 then we accept customers until then even if it runs us later. I was a faithful Great Clips customer but am weighing some other options now...

2019-10-08I asked for layers cleaned up and about an inch taken off this girl grabbed the scissors and started chopping like she was in a big hurry. I could not believe how short she cut it. Why ask what I want when you are going to do what you want anyway. Never again! I believe the stylist was Baily.Turns out the cut was pretty good after I styled it but still needs to improve her customer service.

2019-11-25Nice salon. The stylist do a very good job and are reasonably price. The thing that impressed me most about this company is its generosity. An example would be how they gave out free haircut cards to all the veterans on Veterans Day. They are one of the few places that give out coupons to help everyone. They put peoples needs above money and that is a wonderful thing. This is a business one can appreciate, and support.

2018-09-22Would recommend this place to anyone. Have been looking for someone to cut my hair since my last person butchered me. Have been in here for about 5 hair cuts and the last three were done by Courtney she does an excellent job and I feel great about my hair cut when she is done, very friendly and great customer service by her, not saying the other 2 haircuts done were bad but it just seems that Courtney, I dont know how to say it, I guess its that when she did it the first time it looked great and has been consistent with the same cut every time, also have had many compliments on my hair cuts from family and friends. 2018-09-13The hairdressers are all so very nice. They always make sure to understand what style you want before they start. I dont care which stylist I get each time I visit because they are ALL really good! Warm atmosphere, never a long wait time, and you can also sign-in online before getting there. No need for an appointment.
