This was my first time visiting Gordon Salon in Evanston. The location is great, easy to find and has very convenient nearby parking. The salon is beautiful, very spacious and clean. My appointment was right on time and my stylist was phenomenal. Ursa is a wonderful stylist with many years of experience. She took the time to listen to my concerns and suggested appropriate treatment to correct my hair issues. She did excellent job with the cut as well. She styled my hair perfectly and even recommended appropriate products for my hair type. I’m definitely booking my next appointment with Ursa and looking forward to visiting Gordon Salon in the near future.
I have had only one haircut here and will most definitely be a return client. Ronnie is not only an exceptionally talented stylist, she can make the time fly with lovely conversation. I can’t say thank you enough to Chelsea and Ronnie for working to fit me in after a bit of a miscommunication as well as making some time to speak with Justin regarding future colouring options - it is truly appreciated and I am very happy with my haircut. Looking forward to my next visit xx
It was my first time at the Gordon Salon and boy am I impressed! First impression was this pace is gorgeous. The person who checked me in was pleasant and offered my a choice of drinks. The best part was meeting my stylist, Ronnie.Ronnie gave me a shoulder massage while we discussed my hair and what I was aiming for with a haircut. She really took her time to listen to my needs. This haircut was so good that I scheduled my next cut before I left. This is something I never do, but it shows how happy I am with my hair!
Ursa gave me an amazing cut and style 2x in a row! She helped me solve some winter dryness issues that were making my hair flat. Im SO happy with her artistry!
First visits this week for hair color (low lights and highlights) with Ursa, and haircut & style with Ronnie. Very happy. Both were highly skilled and communicated well. Enjoyed it and like the look!
I have been getting my hair cut and colored by Margaret for over 4 years now. When she left my old salon and started working at Gordan Salon I knew I had to follow her there. I have tried so many different salons and stylists since I moved to Chicago and no one does hair better than Margaret! She is amazing! She is very professional and does an amazing job on your hair. She listens to what you want and in the end does exactly that but even better than you imagine!! She is also very personable and easy to talk to. I also love Gordan Salon. Everyone I talk to either over the phone or at the salon are very nice. Their salons are beautiful and very clean. I highly recommend going to see Margaret at Gordan Salon Evanston!
Yesterday I did 3/4th highlights on my hair. I am not satisfied at all with the results. The color is vibrant and seen at the end of the hair. It does not look like highlighted hair. Also I had a haircut at the same time which did not show even a proper trimming. They did not give a finishing touch up. Just a rough blow dry, right after I came back home, I realised my hair becomes much more dry and also the color looks so unnatural and randomly distributed. I need to know how to correct my hair color. On a positive note, all the staffs have smiling faces and they behaved very well. Salon is super clean.
Superb cuts and color in a beautiful salon. Talented and extremely well trained stylists using the wonderful Aveda line of products. Im so happy they opened up in my neighborhood...I was willing to make the trek to the next closest location, but now I can walk over. Highly recommended!
I had an excellent experience on Saturday, April 30th. My hair is damaged because of health conditions, but my Aveda Professional, Justin Bommer, was able to cut, color and style my hair to make it look healthier. I was very pleased with the outcome, love the color and cut and received many compliments today. The salon is well lit, and the ambiance is very soothing. The staff is very friendly. Would definitely recommend.
I loved my experience with Justin Bommer at the Aveda salon in Evanston. I received a haircut and a S4TEC KERATIN hair treatment from him. The haircut was perfect for my coarse hair- he cut my hair while my hair was dry! Since I usually air dry my hair - he said this was the best way for me to see how a haircut with my coarse hair would really define my face- and he was completely right. He has vast knowledge of different products and techniques that would help my hair be healthy, give it a great look, and be manageable.The S4Tec keratin treatment was perfect for my coarse hair. I haven’t seen my hair look so healthy, sleek, manageable, and stylish in years if not decades. The treatment was simple and the results were fantastic. Justin then styled my hair and gave me such an amazing look.

I got my haircut from Ronnie who did an AMAZING job! I met Ronnie at another salon a few years ago and she gave me the best haircut Ive ever had. I thought about her ever since and so happy I found her again. Looking forward to coming back. The salon space was also super clean and spacious.
I’ve been getting my hair cut by Ronnie for six years now. She’s absolutely amazing and always gets it right without me having to explain much of anything. Gordon Salon is an extremely relaxing experience (just wait til you hit the shampoo room) and everyone is so friendly. Huge fan of the aromatherapy and scalp massages Ronnie gives as well!
Great Mens Haircut by Ronnie at The new Evanston location! Ive been a little unsure about my style for a while and Ronnie was very knowledgeable about my hair type and style direction. She was also reassuring when recommending new techniques and strategies which helped me understand exactly how to act on them.Not only did i get perfect style advice and a good haircut, but this salon truley has the spa experience. From the modern design of the place to the relaxing music in the hair-washing area, I feel like this location makes me feel well taken care of.

Tried this new salon in Evanston. Great looking salon and great service. Lexa was very courteous and professional and did an awesome job. Salon looks great. I’ve used the Gordon in Wilmette which also is good but this one has a cool fresh look and feel to it. I will definitely be back!
I come from out of state to get my hair cut by Ronnie. If that doesn’t tell you how amazing she is, let me elk you more.I have mixed girl hair and nobody really ever knows what to do with it… that is until I met Ronnie. She is the only one I trust to do my hair. Period. She makes me look like a pretty princess every time I get my hair cut, and her head massages are the BEST!
I was greeted with such warm energy at the front desk. Then I met Ronnie who was sooo much fun to talk to. The entire spa-like experience was brand new for me and so relaxing. Since I want to grow my hair longer, certain treatments were used on my hair to support my goal, and Ronnie explained the WHY behind what she was doing with my hair. I really loved my experience here!
I had a great experience with Ronnie, the salon is brand new but already running SO well, this is the best experience I’ve ever had getting a simple haircut. They try to offer a spa like experience with scalp massages before your cut and during your wash, they give a hand massage while your conditioner sits (and the room they was your hair in is set up like a spa with some recliner chairs and dim lighting) and give you a warm rag over your hair, then they gave me a great cut with a beautiful blowout at the end. The place is fresh and clean and very elegant and the experience is awesome. HIGHLY recommend, will be making it my new regular salon!

I took my 15 month old son here for his third haircut (ever!) and Ronnie did an incredible job. She distracted him with a few little items, was flexible as he twisted around, and we left with a great cut. He didn’t cry once! Great blow out and style with Alexa! I tried this salon for the first time a few weeks ago and it was great. Really pretty, modern and clean. I felt like they were taking covid protocols seriously and keeping everyone safe. Alexa was really wonderful. She listened to what I wanted and also continually checked to confirm I was happy and comfortable with the products she was using. Sometimes stylists just put stuff in your hair without checking-- but she repeatedly asked and confirmed I was ok with it. Plus as an Aveda rep, she knows a ton about the products!! My hair looked great!!! Will absolutely see her again.

Visited the new Evanston location with my boys for their haircuts. Greeting at the door was so friendly and welcoming. The new space is modern and beautiful! The staff is not only professional and proficient, they are caring, friendly and LISTEN to the clients. On the three times I have been in (I usually try and arrive early) I have listened to Staff members greet and make just a bit of small talk and then ask the client the whats and wherefores of their visit to the salon. And, if the client is not clear the staff member asks questions until the whats and wherefores are understood by both....Staff and Client!
I absolutely love Ronnie, she makes me feel so comfortable. I’ve had trouble trying to make my hair look more full since I’ve been losing a lot of my hair from pregnancy. I didn’t know what to do with my hair and I was really embarrassed, but she helped my confidence a lot, and I can’t thank her enough.

2022-02-05I had a wonderful experience this morning having what I thought would be a simple haircut. Instead I had a hair stylist who listened to my vision of what I wanted in a haircut. Ronnie quickly had photos of possible looks that we scanned and formed a decision. Next I was treated to a head massage with a choice of oil to relax me and prepare the hair. Ronnie continued with a hair wash that further my relaxation and a hand massage. Finally, Ronnie cut my hair. It was what I was hoping for. I felt so beautiful with my new look. Ronnie and I had many conversations during my appointment which help me appreciate her gift of styling. It was a great start to my day. Looking forward to my next appointment.

2022-05-27Today was my first time at the Evanston location, and I’ll be a client for life! I requested a last minute blowout and cut and the salon manager Ashley went above and beyond to meet my needs. Ursa took me on late in the day and gave me the best blowout I’ve ever had. My hair has never been so shiny and perfect. Their blowout membership is also one of the most affordable for the quality. I can’t recommend George highly enough!

It relaxes, rejuvenates, and replenishes me for the rest of my day! Love the care and attention to my hair cut, color, and treatments that will enhance the quality of my hair and lifestyle. When your hair looks good and fresh you feel good! The salon is clean, modern, and always smells good. Love aveda products, they are perfect for my coarse thick hair.
