Been a seasonal camper for more than 35 years. Would not be any wear else. Love the quiet and large camping sites. Have raised my children and grandson camping at FCRA.
Wonderful place to camp. Enjoyed our visit there.well maintained and beautiful surroundings.
Was ok at first, but between the very loud drunks and all the beer cans and liquor bottles and the way the majority of permanent residents treat non rv campers like trash and automatically assume ALL non-local tent campers MUST ALL be homeless, is RIDICULOUS!!!!! Theres a VERY LONG waiting list for rv/camper membership spots because OVER HALF of the rvs and campers are either without tags or have tags with 6-20 year EXPIRED sticker tags and are either totally gutted inside or rotting away or both. Disgusting. The 20+ year old Showers and toilets just recently passed state inspection!!!!
Very disappointed, this place dont have half the fish that is listed on their limit signs. This place used to be a good place to fish when it first opened up to the public but with several changes of the people who oversee the area things continue to get worse
Such a beautiful place! Very peaceful, clean and well maintained. Wonderful place for kayaking and camping! Stephanie, the manager is very welcoming! Cant wait to go back!

What a joke! County runs campground and steals money from it. Very dirty shower house! Site superintendent dont know up from down.
Nothing for kids to do. Cant drink the water. Bath house is too far to let kids walk to.

2021-09-06It was Labor Day weekend and we couldn’t find anywhere to camp until I came across this place and I’m very glad I did. It wasn’t busy at all we had the camp sight to ourselves one night and shared it with one other group the second night. We had a spot right next to the lake with 2 tables and a fire pit. There is a port-a-potty close to the camp grounds and might I add that it’s the cleanest port-a-potty I’ve ever seen. There’s is also a bathroom and shower house a little farther away. There was also a powered pavilion close by as well. They give you a key card to get in and out of the grounds through a gate which is nice and makes you feel somewhat secure. There is a Casey’s General store 5 mins away in St. Davis and a decent sized town of Canton where they have just about anything you would need. We have Sprint-T-Mobile cell service and our phones worked good. I also would like to mention John Young, he was the guy who took our phone call when we called and checked us in after hours. He was friendly, helpful, and available if we needed him for anything, great service and great campground. I defiantly recommend this place and we will defiantly be back here in the future.

2021-09-08Absolutely beautiful nature preserve with fishing & camping! My man & I have tent camped there twice & well definitely be back! Views are stunning, neighbors (whether you know them or not) are extremely friendly & staff members take excellent care of the property! If you love the outdoors, I cant recommend this place enough!!!

2013-03-26I have been camping off and on at this beautiful campground for over 15 years, the last 2 years as a seasonal camper. The new management team is awesome, they really care about the park and the people. Shower house is kept clean and the grounds. This is a wildlife haven, and the manager helps protect the environment.We will definitely continue camping and visiting!!

2021-06-17We stay here for a week at least once a year. Many lakes of fishing and pure relaxation. John is amazing, always willing to help if he can.

2018-08-20It would be okay if I had a boat or a permanent camp sight with a camper. The lakes look like mud holes, but we are in a drought right now so that cant be helped. It looks like a nice place to hunt. I dont have a boat or camper, so it wasnt for me. Its not a bad place, I just wasnt for me. The shower house is clean & maintained. It needs more things for kids to play on at the park area, but I also dont have little kids, so it didnt concern me to much. The tent camping area wasnt bad. Everything was mowed & you get a table & fire pit & its right by the shower house & park area.

2019-07-29Very nice campground. One of my preferred places to camp when motorcycling through Illinois. Very quiet. The campground is little rundown, but under new management and they’re bringing the place up to snuff as fast as they can. Bathrooms and showers are adequate and clean.

2018-03-04This is a fun park to try out. The only bad thing is you cannot take a look around and see what youre paying for before you pay to get in. The majority of all campers are seasonal or permanent campers. The fishing is good on almost any Lake you go to
