Been a few times and every time Ive come its even better. Their pad woonsen is too good and I really liked the JJ Roll and Volcano Roll as well. Very fresh and great sauces for the sushi. Some sushi is so dry at other places, but their sauces and toppings always compliment their rolls so deliciously. Nice people who work there. I will definitely be coming back!! Keep up the good work.
Ive been coming to Fuji Thai for over 10 years, which says something about the quality, taste, and price of food served. Easily my favorite local sushi place with affordable prices and lots of variety to choose from (if you dont like sushi there is lots of other stuff). I come here so often that the waiters recognize me sometimes! If this place ever shut down, I would start a riot because no other local sushi place even remotely compares to Fuji Thai.
Great local Thai place, that also serves “ok” rolls. I tried a bunch of Thai places in Chicago, and Fuji Thai is by far in the top 3 for me. Unlike many other Thai places around here, their Pad Thai is not too sweet and not soggy. My kids love Pad Thai, Glass Noodles and Tom Yam / Tom Kha here, which I think is the highest praise.
The Thai food is not my favorite here. I have eaten better Thai food at other restaurants. But the chicken Teriyaki is very good. My husband loves Sushi and he says the sushi is very good and very fresh. I have noticed when you eat at the restaurant the food tastes better rather if you take it to go. But I have taken it to go also. Overall very good restaurant will continue to come here. Also when do to take out it sometimes is a long wait. Like one time when I did take it I waited over 30 minutes which is ridiculous. They get very busy so they need more help.
Fuji Thai is an exceptional restaurant! As usual, with most Thai places, the prices arent the lowest, but the quality in food definitely makes up for that. I can only review what I had, so the chicken curry was delicious and flavorful. The sushi rolls that I had, I do not recall which ones I had, but they were filled with fresh ingredients. Lastly, I had the fuji fried rice, and it was simply put together, yet was very flavorful which is always good! A simple yet appealing meal that has hidden potential. Service was great! Friendly workers, it does get really busy at this location during peak times from midday lunch breaks and dinnertime dine-ins so expect some time. This place is meant meant for those in a hurry. The selection of food was insane for such a small looking sized restaurant! I was amazed honestly. The drink selections was wide as well.Overall, this restaurant showed great potential, awesome customer service, fresh food, and its cleanliness was just squeaky clean. A must go for those who have not gone and this place is most definitely on my go back again list!
I always get lunch box specials and occasionally dinner from this restaurant. I usually get 2 box lunch specials which are 26 dollars after tax for 2 and they include an entree, an appetizer, a California roll, and 3 pieces of nigiri. VERY filling! Their ginger carrot dressing is amazing, and this is coming from someone who doesn’t like ginger normally. I also like anything with their homemade peanut sauce, it is the perfect balance of flavor. And their dinner portions are huge. I usually go for their pad thai or any of their sushi rolls. Every time I’ve been there, the sushi has been very fresh. The family and staff that works there are so kind and patient. I really recommend trying their pad thai, green salad, and any sushi!
They have the best crab rangoon that I have ever tasted. They dont skimp on the cheese, and they also use real crab. The sushi was fresh and very flavorful. All Thai dishes we tried were fresh, flavorful, and had no MSG. Its a family owned place staffed by the owners themselves. The day we went one of the owners was cooking all the dishes and the other owner was waiting the tables. They were very friendly and attentive. I definitely recommend a visit if you are in the area.
Staff is always super friendly. The lunch special is a great opportunity to enjoy a perfect portion size that comes with your choice of miso or Tom Yum soup AND pot stickers or spring rolls.Recommend the pink panther roll. This is our go-Thai restaurant. Taste is the best in the area. With covid, curbside pickup is super convenient.
I don’t understand the positive reviews of the food. The appetizers are all frozen then toasted or microwaved and the veggies in the dishes are all from the Costco frozen section as well. The place is clean, the people are nice but the food is meh. Siam Siam is nearby, go there instead.
Its usually known as the best food. But dine-in here now its a bit pricey and the portion of the food to small. I a little bit dispointed with the papaya salad. It blend, the pad Thai portion really small. The sushi its ok. Took a while to get the waiters came and took order. The gap between the appetizer and entree took too long because I saw the waiters came with to go bag.
We went in on a Saturday night. Sushi was good. Basil Fried Rice was good. Their Pad Thai is far too sweet. Would go back and try more offerings. The 4:30-5:30 sushi happy hour looks interesting. Mon-Wed only, but 25% off.I want to try to Komodo Dragon roll next time Im in I think.
On feb. 24, 2020 I personally was in the restaurant to place an order to-go. I asked if they have curry rice. I was told yes. I ordered a curry rice with beef. While it was very good and tasty it was not curry rice. Also extremely expensive. I paid $15 for just rice which had nothing to do with what I ordered. Like I said it was good but not what it was supposed to be.
Nice Japanese food, the fish is so fresh as well as the ingredients, I took the salmon combo and it was really good, I took the fresh raw tuna started as well, and it was pretty good. I recommend to ask for miso soup, if it is not part of your order/combo, Im sure you will like it. Enjoy it
My family and I live close and eat here often. Our favorites are Rock and Roll sushi roll, egg rolls, Peanut Chicken Rama. Good quality and taste. Prices are about 1-2 dollars more per item than I would like, but without more seating they probably need them that high for profit and to pay decently.
Poor service and disappointingly bland food. It was very attractively served but the main dish portion was small & the watery soup wasnt even lukewarm. I ordered Spicy Basil chicken but I dont think a chili pepper so much as passed through the dish. And I could never have guessed basil was an ingredient. Wont be back.
This is one of my favourite destinations for thai food.Their Tom kha soup is to die for.Tom yum is my second favourite soup in here. The place is nice and cozy.Never too crowded. And the service is really nice.My only complaint is that they dont keep a standard definition for spice level which can make your experience inconsistent.
I have been there 3 times, and happened to be three consecutive days for lunch, but wasnt disappointed at all.Lunch combo meal is great value for the price. You also get to try sushi with the main dish you order. In dessert menu, Green tea icecream tempura was really awesome...worth trying.....I loved this place.....Remember they have 4pm to 7pm Happy hours (1/2 proce sushi)...
It was not as good like some reviews say. First we ask for our utensils and napkins. Then we had to ask for soy sauce dish when they gave us appetizers. The sushi wasnt bad but we order combo dishes. Chicken teriyaki, Stake teriyaki and Salmon Teriyaki. All of them were over cooked. The Salmon was so much over cooked so it was like a cardboard and not fish. We ask and got a new one which also was over cooked. We decided enough of that so we paid and went home. But we never go back to that place not for what we got.
Good portion sizes - 2 adults and 2 kids cudnt eat Pad Thai!!Panang curry n mixed veggies was good, Pad Thai was ok. A little too sweet.Spring rolls were disappointing. There was little or no filling in there. But nice people, cozy place never too packed with ppl n good food. Would definitely recommend anyone who wants to try Thai food.
I am very pleased with my visits to Fuji Thai. when I arrived the waitress was on the phone so I was greeted by the sushi chef and had my meal within 9 minutes. The lunch menu was a generous portion at a good value overall I was very pleased with the food and my order was delivered as described
Ive never written a bad review. But the service was lousy. They didnt even have papaya salad. Ive never been to a thai food place without it. For 26 dollars, i expected a bigger portion, i couldnt even feed myself on what i got. They messed up the order after confirming it over the phone. The chicken was greasy and the fried rice was bland. Extra 45 min wait for sushi? Want good thai food? Go to I am siam in wheeling.
I think this place should have been named PHO-O--O-E-Y THAI. As a preface, my wife and I are ardent THAI cuisine lovers. Have probably eaten at over 100 different THAI restaurants in the Chicago region over the years. The majority of which were less than a dazzling experience for one reason or another. But occasionally we do run into a real authentic star on the restaurant horizon. Currently living on Wheeling, we always try to find an exceptional THAI restaurant within a 5-10 mile radius. I AM SIAM was very close to being exceptional in all respects. Unfortunately, as many things do, the place closed due to a greedy landlord. They have renamed and reopened nearby but the food has been most disappointing since. All that being said, we decided to try FUJI THAI today, though my instincts told me it was more slanted to sushi than THAI cuisine. Guess my instincts were correct. Pretty much everything that could be wrong with a restaurant was present here. Curly stayed home, but Larry and Moe were waiting tables. Sadly, a couple of high school kids that knew nothing about the food let alone waiting tables. We tried a couple of signature dishes that we use to judge any new place by. BLAND; NO REAL THAI SPICING OR CHARACTER; FOOD WAS ROOM TEMPERATURE WHEN IT REACHED THE TABLE, SMALL PORTIONS, AND A SCARCITY OF MEAT (SOME OF WHICH YOU HAD TO PAY EXTRA FOR.) I must be clear on the fact that our judgement of the place was based solely on the THAI food, and not SUSHI. To bring a sad story to a close, if you consider yourself a true lover of THAI food, I would save your money and avoid this place. FUJI THAI seems to have a standing reputation in the area, but for the life of me, I cant understand what it is based on.

2022-06-06Visited Chicago on a short trip. Tried this place on our last day of the trip and totally loved it. Will recommend the place to anyone that stays in Chicago. One thing we didnt like was that they took a lot of time to serve the food.

2019-09-06Nice little restaurant in Buffalo Grove serving decent food. We tried the lunch special- a combo of Appetizer, Soup/Salad and Entree. Food was tasty and flavorful. Pad See Eiw was my favorite. Dessert tasted ok, not the best. Also the soup Tom Yum we tried didn’t taste authentic. Value for money is definitely a plus. Overall a happy customer.

2021-12-11We ordered up dinner for four people and tried curbside pickup. When they say curbside they mean right in front of the door or they dont see you. We waited for a while before I figured this out. Its okay. Food wasnt cold. Good phone service and we like the food but it was was different from some of the other Thai places that we love. Chicken satay appetizer was kind of coconutty but good. No cucumber salad with it. I thought that was unusual. Fried rice was good, but we were mixed in our opinions of some of the other main dishes we got. A little expensive too. Friendly service with the definite mix up on curbside pickup with decent food.

2022-02-17The food at Fuji Thai has been very consistent and good. The lunch specials are a great option, when applicable, with well balanced portions, and lots of options. This is one of my go-to lunch spots, and I highly recommend it.
