Friar Tuck Beverage in other cities:
Do they even care? About anything? I have no problem not being greeted or acknowledged as I walk in the door but I have a slight problem not getting a bag with my items and not having my account fixed up so I can continue shopping here for rewards. All in all, I wish this place wasnt so depressing.
Has a diverse selection of imported alcohols, especially whiskeys, and so far as I can tell all the beverages are priced close to their MSRP plus theres a scarce presence of gimmicky small batches and overblown collectors bottles, so you wont be spending excessively on even a top shelf liquor unless thats specifically your intent. Overall, a good medium-sized liquor store where youre almost certain to find what you want.
Great beer selection both cold and warm. And a fantastic wine and spirits selection, too. My only complaint is their beer cooler tends to be a bit of a mess. But the people are always friendly and stuff is easy to find... organized in a way that allows you to peruse what you want without having to look through tons of stuff you dont.
This stores web site says they have select 55 in 30 packs for 9.99 so I drove over 30 miles thinking I could stock up however after getting there I find out they dont have it and its not on the bud truck thats unloading so I asked the manager of they would offer me a rain check so I could come back next week she just said they havent had 30 packs for a long time and didnt offer anything to supsitute I might have taken the 24 packs of they had been same price dont believe their web page
They are close to where I live and a good selection of beer and wine. Their prices are higher to OK. Since Binnys came into town they are never very busy. I wonder how they can stay in business. I like the fact that I dont have to fight a lot of people to get what I want. So, I am willing to pay a little more and have a smaller selection than Binnys. The staff is always nice and helpful.
They have a large beer selection, but nothing impressive compared to HyVee or to binnys which are both within about a mile. If youre into beer, their prices are on average a dollar or two higher than competitors. I went there to buy a special edition beer, they had never heard of it, meanwhile the other stores had already sold out.
My roommates and I went to Olive garden and was recommended a wine that was absolutely delicious, we figured if we went to a beverage store that we could find a bottle of the wine.however once we got to friar Tuck we realized that we did not take a picture of the bottle or know at all what the wine was.So I want remain and I are wandering around trying to find this bottle of wine, we figured it was worth a shot to ask the employees there if they knew what we were looking for.To our surprise, the owner was there working and knew what wine we were talking about just because we got it at Olive garden.Unfortunately they were sold out of that wine, but he suggested another that was very similar to it that they offer at biaggis.Wonderful customer service!
Spent some time shopping here and found a nice bottle of Scotch to buy. Manager took the bottle to the register while we continued to shop. As we we were ready to leave he informed me that that bottle had been reserved by someone else. He was pretty rude all together, not somewhere that Ill shop again
Decent whisky and beer selection. Not the best prices, but reasonable. The main problem is the complete lack of customer service.Also... avoid the mix and match 6-pack section. There are beers in it that are over a year old.Come on guys. Eventually youre gonna have to toss that and take a bit of a loss.
Employees and managers were helpful and friendly. Got a 5 pack of German beer on sale really reasonable. Came with a nice beer glass but got home and found out the beer was over a year out of date. The stuff was brewed to the 15-18 Purity law. It should be okay since it was packaged out of direct light. Just wish it had been noted on the sale price that it was as outdated
I stopped in earlier to pick up a few things. I went to check out expecting I could tap and pay. I could not and was 3.43 short with the cash I had in my wallet. Taylor(who was checking me out) apologized and gave me a small discount so I did not have to put anything back! Friar Tuck is a little farther away then Binnys is, but after this small act of kindness I will gladly make the extra drive. THANK YOU
I love this place. Very knowledgeable staff and management. I find the different types of beverages that I look for here and continue to find the things I did not know I was looking for due to expert guidance by this staff. Matt the General manager has done a wonderful job with this location.
After searching the Bloomingtons store listing of bourbon online, decided to stop by on my way through IL to pick up a few that they had listed (and did not state not available).I was very disappointed that of the three WL Weller I was looking for, none were in stock, neither was the Willett or the Old Forester Birthday Bourbon (figured this one would not be available as it is a special release).Talked to one of the store personnel, and he told me they order it, but dont receive it. He also doesnt like that their website is misleading. He was very helpful in finding a few IPAs that my son wanted, so from the people side, I give Friar Tucks 5 stars.Due to the lack of items that show as being available, I give the 0 stars! Looks like if they have had the bourbon in stock sometime in the past year, they list it on their website.

2022-06-26Man at the front desk. Long hair. Glasses. Looked stoned/hungover/maybe still drunk. Has horrible customer service skills. I go up. Sir. Would you guys happen to have anymore cans of corona or the small 7oz cans maybe? Worker just goes we got what we got back there.. thats what we have. Instead of looking up in the system just to make sure or to even try to help.

2022-05-12They have a huge selection of craft beer, but you have to be careful in your selections because a lot of them are well past their sell-by dates.

2019-07-01I was here by total chance, visiting from Chicago, and I was gladly surprised. The selection is very good (4 stars, not 5, because the selection of whiskeys is fairly limited) and the prices very very competitive (I think theyre trying to survive a Binnys a mile away).I asked for help and they were not only very kind, but very knowledgeable as well.I spent $100 and I will be back next time Im in town.

2021-11-24Woman who runs the beer selection is very knowledgeable and made good recommendations. She did a great job organizing the beer section by locale. As an out-of-towner looking for beer I cant get back home, she did a great job assisting me.

2021-06-16Incredible craft beer selection. I have been drinking craft beers for 30 years and it isnt that often that I find a place that has many beers that I have not tried. However Friar Tuck is the exception. I highly recommend them.
