Came here 3 days in a row. Had to try everything. Hot food was great, drinks were delicious and refreshing and everything else was awesome to look at. Still needs to fill up all your shelves but most was fun to look at. The fresh water critters were a bit weird but interesting. Great place to get snacks and drinks for a hot day. Bakery looked interesting and had some unique flavors.
70% ready still some empty I can see.Price expensive most items but few things cheap. And Boaba tee $6.00 oh no.... too sweet... no good no recommend.New market so inside very cleanTheres hot food corner. You can chose whatever you want.... Chinese food and drinking. Seafood, meat , cosmetic and health corner too. If you like Chinese culture and food you will like it (Asian food).
Im not sure where others shop, but this store is actually one of the most expensive Asian stores for me. Its quite small compared to competitors for groceries and therefore has less variety. I actually enjoy going here for their hot meals and bakery goods, not for groceries/produce. Very impressed with their food (roast duck, charsiu and pork belly)-- however like most said, it takes a long time to get prepared (we were the only ones to order and it took a really long time). I did not get the by weight food because I have seen children touch the cooked food. Please have the staff be more attentive to the food!!
Most Asian grocery store are often not very modernized, but Fresh International Market goes against the grain and is reminiscent of high-end grocery stores. The overall design of the store is very slick, everything from the shelves, isles, floors, etc.Product wise, its everything youd find in Chinatown grocery stores, except that its in the suburbs
This market is so cool! i love the fact that right when you walk in, youre able to get such unique and cute drinks like the boba milk tea (pictured) and green teas too! i also like how you can get fresh cooked food right there and the extensive asian drink aisles! as an asian, its really nice to have one big place to get some of my favorite foods.
The last time I went to the store, I had their boba tea and I really like it as well as the food in a particular small restaurant inside the store that is why I decided to stop by while I am visiting someone near it. This store is super nice it is big, clean and spacious. There are variety of imported goodies specifically Asian goodies. They also have wide selection of fresh produce different kinds of produce, meat and seafood. They got everything but what I like the most about this store is they have a lot of small restaurants and food courts inside. I was able to try some Chinese and Taiwanese food and everything I ate has a really nice seasoning and flavor and everything was just delicious. I got boba tea before heading to the checkout. I got their peach black tea last time so I decided to order something different and I order the Jasmin green tea and it is definitely better than the last flavor of boba tea that I had. The line in the checkout was kind of long but it is understandable since there are quite a lot of people. This grocery store is overall great. Highly recommended!
One stop shop for many things like groceries, fresh fish (even some live fish), boba, bakery goods, sushi, other chinese cooked fresh foods, ect. The entire store has pretty reasonable prices and is very clean. The boba store inside had a great selection and also great prices!
I am happy to see a Chinese groceries out in the burbs that is accessible close by home. However in term of pricing of course Chinatown would be the best. I believe most things is 5-10% higher here. I come here mostly for condiments and their bakery. Two things I try not to buy here is BBQ and Veggies. BBQ dish such as ducks, chicken, pork although it taste very good, half of the portion is all bones that is hidden underneath. Veggies are probably sprayed down pretty well, there are many times where I cut open a nappa and its all molded/yellow inside while outside looks very green. Either that or it will not last past a week, while the Korean markets veggies does. Bakery although overpriced it is very tasty, i love the taro and egg yolk crisp balls here. I dont think i had anything this fresh elsewhere. I come here mainly due to convenience.
If youre ever in the area this is a must go! They have so many kind of noodles and packaged bubble tea. Not to mention the amazing bubble tea shop at the entrance 12/10! The sushi and food they have packaged fresh everyday is amazing. Better than any sushi bar ive had.
One of the few Asian supermarket in the suburb. They offer quiet a bit of stuffs like any other grocery stores but one of thing is that they have an in store fresh beverage store with multiple different flavors, a bakery shop specialize in Taiwanese bread made fresh everyday and a gourmet BBQ kitchen you can get Asian style chicken, pork, duck and etc..A convenient way to grab something hot to eat right away besides groceries. We come here pretty often for drinks and bakery. However, on some of the stuffs they sell are not very fresh and kinda on the pricey side compare to other stores. Otherwise, it is a good place to go during the weekends and enjoy some of the rare beverages and freshly made food.
This place is amazing! Such a unique variety of offerings, even compared to H-Mart and Mitsuwa. Huge fan of the food court as well. 20% off sushi (which is always fresh and delicious, and always stocked even with side condiments) on Wednesdays and BOGO 50% off bubble tea on Thursdays. Seriously check this place out.The one and only thing I dont like is how they leave prepared to-go foods like chicken in small containers on a table without any warmer or refrigeration.
I think its better to name it Asian market instead of International. All the products are for people from Asia, I literally couldnt find anything for myself. Fruit and veggies were pricey, so I couldnt even purchase that. I wont be back for sure. On the other side, I believe this is a great spot for Asian people.
Ive been dying to go here all week after finding it online. It did not disappoint! (A note: the name Fresh International Market can be a little deceiving. Dont go in here expecting to find products from around the globe. Its mainly Asian products, which is exactly what I was looking for.)A few things were closed inside, including the hot buffet that I saw pictures of in other reviews. Im assuming thats due to the risk of spreading covid. I did buy an eel roll that was fantastic, though. Normally store bought eel rolls still have the chewy skin on, but this one was properly prepared without it. It was perfect. I also bought some roasted pork belly to serve as an appetizer with dinner tonight. It looks and smells amazing. There are so many options. I was excited to find yellow dragon fruit and frozen soup dumplings. Both things that I havent been able to find since moving back here almost eight years ago. Theres a lot of fresh and frozen meat and fish. The variety and prices are amazing. Im so excited that I can buy duck wings, fresh scallops, masago, and snails here. Please know that there is live seafood which can be upsetting to anyone who either doesnt eat meat, or to anyone who cant imagine killing something to eat themselves. I was worried about my son seeing the frogs and turtles that Ive seen in other reviews (we have a pet turtle), but luckily they were either in back or werent being sold today. The only thing I couldnt find that I was looking for is XO Sauce. I have a fantastic recipe to make it myself, and found the proper ingredients for it, but its just so much more convenient to buy it premade. Its a little out of the way for us, but well worth the drive. Im definitely going to come back several times a month.
This grocery store has a wide selection of produce and goods from Asia. Most of them are Chinese brands. I found some of my childhood favorites here like 八宝粥. I would go here if you want authentic Asian food. They have a deli area where they serve freshly made roast duck, princess chicken and so on which are very delicious. The market also has a drink shop called elitea - 岩茶 which is a popular brand back in China. They use good quality tea and I particular enjoy the fruit tea. I would be careful with the expiration date on some of the pre packaged food. Double check the sell by date.
My go-to spot for my groceries!! I used to live near an Hmart so, when I found out about this place it was a very good alternative. The produce and meat department both have a decent variety, the bakery and the cooked food are my usual stops first and I always find something I like or want to try, the Sashimi section was a really good find (the salmon tray is my favorite) and the ramen/soup isle is my absolute favorite because again...the variety is endless! Workers are friendly, store is well kept and organized, signage is readable and clear, and the isles arent too cramped or small to move through. After checkout, I always stop at Elitea which is a boba stand...their brown sugar boba latte and strawberry smoothie are my go-to beverages. Highly recommend stopping in.
I discovered the existence of cheese tea recently and went searching for a place to get it. Thats what brought me here. My first impression walking into the store was that its an entirely Asian themed Whole Foods Theres a decent sized produce section (includes durian) and a huge cold case full of various types of dumplings and gyouza. Theres also a wide selection of products that I havent seen at Korean or Japanese stores. The highlight for me was the drink bar which had the cheese tea I was looking for. The drink was better than Id heard and now Im forced to go back to try all the flavors of the drink combinations. I was impressed by everything and will be going back soon.
I can’t express how grateful I’m for the opening of Fresh international market Schaumburg. I live in Rockford and due to the lack of Chinese supermarket I used to have to drive 1.5 hours to Chicago downtown for reasonable Asian grocery choices, not to mention having to drive through the always congested downtown traffic. Fresh international market makes my life so much easier and they have very good and extensive choices for Chinese grocery. The location is very good, not far from Woodfield mall and it’s very convenient. They also have loyalty program and I love the dollar off here and there. It’s really a great addition to the community.
This is an excellent grocery store focusing mostly on Asian cuisine. The pricing is fair for produce, meat, and seafood. Theres an entire aisle of the store focused on Ramen, meaning an obviously huge selection. You can get live fish, crabs, and snails in the seafood counter and they have things that you cant find in most grocery stores. If Im making an Asian dish, this place is definitely my go-to. They also have a sushi area and a hot-bar with some good food in it for reasonable prices. I highly recommend this store.
Must stopped for Asian grocery heaven.you will find alot of variety for each product you need. They carry all well known brands. Dont worry if you dont understand Asian language, the staff is extremely qualified to understand your request and help. You can even show them a picture and they will walk with you to the aisle. Good fresh meat and seafood. Mongers and butchers serve very well to all your requirements. Price wise cant be beated. Just vist and the experience once.
Asian stores in MN are not the cleanest but this one is very clean and does not have that funky smell when you enter an Asian store.A lot of great stuff esp. things that I couldnt find in regular stores. Sad that the restaurant was closed. I wanted to try it but they close at 7.
Update: Rewrote because my first review was very rambling and not clear. This pertains to the food court. Service is very slow, so dont come here if you are on a schedule. Give yourself 2-3 hours to get your food. If you want Chinese BBQ and youre on a schedule, I recommend MingHin in Rolling Meadows and the BBQ place inside of the Richwell Market in Morton Grove.I ordered 1/2 lb pork belly. It took me 40 mins to receive it and another 10 mins to check out. The majority of people behind me in line, all of them having bigger orders, received their food and left before me. The only reason I received any food at all is that I told the cashier that I was going to leave if I didnt receive my order in the next 5 mins. In total, including driving time, getting a 1/2 lb of pork belly took an entire hour.I get this is a food court and not a fine dining restaurant. But this doesnt even compare to the average ordering experience at McDonalds. Something is seriously wrong when your food court service standards cant even match McDonalds.
I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in. Its really more of an Asian market than an international market, so the name is misleading, but I absolutely loved it. Theres more of a mall feel, from the food court area to the health and beauty area on the other side. The prices were reasonable and the people are friendly. I loved everything about it. My new favorite place.
The coffee smoothie I bought when I walked in was delicious.they dont have a traditional deli, this is definitely an Asian supermarket. So be prepared. If you know that going in its an awesome store. But if youre looking for your weekly groceries, this probably isnt the place for you.
Even if you have no business buying anything here, please come and try pushing a cart. OMG those carts can move like they are sliding on soap! You can even push them horizontally and they will move forward with ease! These carts were manufactured from heaven; they are that smooth! So all people who enjoy a smooth car ride, try pushing these carts! This is not a joke; if you shop anywhere that involves using a cart then you have to come here and try them out! Besides that the store itself is clean and well-maintained.
If you like Asian food, but are frustrated with the limited selection at most grocery stores, THIS is the place to go!! The fish and meat market alone is amazing with all the different varieties. Aisles of fresh fruits, vegetables, packaged and frozen foods that I thought were only available in restaurants. But it isnt just groceries - cosmetics, herbal medicines, kitchen utensils, bakery and a sushi bar. Clean store, friendly staff, good quality and fair prices. Its more like a destination than grocery shopping! We will be shopping there often.
Pretty decent selection but mostly focused on Asian groceries and packaged goods. The spices, sauces, and general seasonings were somewhat lacking in option and variety for Korean, Chinese, and Japanese cuisine compared to other bigger groceries specialized for those items. Prices were average as well.
It is incredibly fun to browse at this store because they have an amazing selection. I have always been fascinated by Asian packaging - it is so colorful and creative. This store reminds me quite a bit of H Mart and Assi Plaza in Niles, although the displays here are much more inviting. There is a good assortment of food from different Asian countries - I noticed Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, and Filipino products, as well as Jamaican drinks and even some Russian goods. Some of the prices on Japanese goods were more expensive than Mitsuwa - also, the bakery goods at Happy Hippo are a little less expensive. Most of the produce was average to a little overpriced, but everything was nicely displayed. What really surprised me the most ... in fact, I let out an audible gasp, were the live frogs. Im not talking the delicate type used in French cuisine, but huge bull frogs/toads! And they also had live blue crabs (some looked dead), a bunch of fish swimming around in unappealing tanks, and roasted ducks like you find in Chinatown.I loved some of the non-food items, like super cute socks, inexpensive bowls, a lovely assortment of cosmetics, etc. As evidenced by all the photos I took, I had a great time here and will be back.
3 stars only. Soonhari SOJU that i bought was expired. Bought it 11/21/2020. The date on the bottle is 2/17/2020. Taste was awful thats when I checked the date. Citron flavor were small bottles. Apple flavored was the big.bottles. what a waste. With those dates apart it seems they dont check their stocks.
Good selection of Asian groceries. Theres also a small food court and Elitea bubble tea house inside the store. Location is convenient and store is clean and pleasant. You can also find fresh seafood and bake goods. Some grocery items have significant higher prices than nearby stores, hopefully more competitive pricing in the future.
The market is fine if, but the restaurant is HORRIBLE. I ordered the two meat combo, and the quality is 👎👎 with just a few pieces of meat, not even the sauce like how Cantonese restaurants or food stands would serve such a classic order. For $8 plus tax, most of the Asian restaurants around the are could have presented something much more decent. Very disappointed.
There was several things that I havent seen in other Asian Grocery Stores, but When we visited, there were many areas in the meat section that were totally empty. It was more pricey than other grocery stores. The snow crab legs were just sitting on the ice, but when I felt them they were warm and not cold. Also, I was very excited that there were blue crabs, but there were several dead ones and they were all very small.
Finally They’re open, whenever I was in the area they were closed. Personally the place looks clean, it gives me the vibe of Asian version of Whole Foods. They have variety of foods and prices are reasonably affordable. However, I give 3 stars because i see some workers with grumpy faces, one of the worker is eating by the aisle. The cashier, her name is Seralina, she didn’t smile, didnt offer me if i want to join membership (as she did with previous customer ahead of me), she was a mean lady. Her attitude made me feel she’s racist against my race and religion ( i noticed she treated me differently among other customers.
This is was first time visiting here. We drove 40 mins to come here to shop. We bought lots of stuffs. The store was clean and everything was stacked neatly compare to messy Chinatown supermarkets. Sadly the produce and vegetables aren’t too fresh. The 3 bags of onions we bought , we found them to be moldy when we got home. So end up we throwing all away .
Ive been shopping here since the soft opening in April; it has steadily increased its open hours and selection while still keeping prices reasonable. The grocery section has a focus on Chinese (mainland and Hong Kong) and Taiwanese goods, though they also have things from Korea, Japan, and elsewhere. The number of grocery items from Korea and Japan have steadily increased in number since the grand opening.Prices are very reasonable. For what I go there for (mostly snacks and drinks), things are typically 20% less expensive than at Mitsuwa, and about 10% less expensive than H-Mart. There is an in-store cafe, authentic Chinese restaurant (really), as well as a modest bakery. With an international grocery selection as diverse as this location, itd be a huge mistake to pass this place up.
I wanted to give this place a higher rating. But when we visited over the weekend, there were no shopping carts at the door, the customers had to walk back to the parking lot, to grab it from there. The Indian cashier was not friendly, does not smile or say hi. Last time when we bought 2 boxes of moon cakes, she didnt give us the moon cake bags for packaging.
一定检查小票!!!实收价格与店内价格严重不符。ALWAYS CHECK YOUR RECEIPT!!!You are ALWAYS charged more through some hidden ways.We have been shopping in this supermarket for the past two months and here is what happened:The 1st Time--Wrong Price for PearsI love Korean pears. So as long as I find Korean pears in the grocery stores, I would grab them. They usually cost me $5.99 or $6.99 for a pack. The Korean pears were tagged $6.99 in this store, so I got some as usually. However, while occasionally looking at the receipt after checking out, I noticed that they charged me $8.99 for the Korean pears. I talked to their manager. Their manager told me there is something wrong with their system. I understand that there may be something wrong with the system, so I returned the Korean pears. The 2nd Time--Wrong Price for PearsI went to the store again after a week and got the Korean pears. To my surprise, the price was still $8.99 on the receipt, which is $2 more than the tagged price. That is horrible. I could not understand why the system problem had not been fixed after a whole week. The 3rd Time--Wrong Price for Lots of ProductsI went there to grab some snacks and frozen foods two weeks later. This time, I noticed that the price of the Korean pears were changed to $8.99. After one month! But I decided not to get the Korean pears anymore, because they are way too expensive compare to other asian supermarkets. I got some frozen foods and paid for them. Before leaving, I intentionally checked the receipt and found that the price was wrong AGAIN. I talked to the manager who explained that there was something wrong with the scanning of the store card. Although the cashier did scan the store card, I still paid full price for all the groceries. Since I caught this mistake, they returned the money to my store card. The Nth Time--Wrong Price Again and Really Sh**ty AttitudeI went there this weekend and found out that all the sale item were charged the original price. To be honest, I was not surprised at all. Because my past experience told me that they could never get it right. I just need to get whatever I need, return those with wrong prices and leave. However, things got even harder this time.Their store manager (the lady) was incredibly rude this time! We went through 3 rounds of negotiation.Round 1--She admitted the price was wrong but refused to returned any produce. Because no produce can be returned. (Is it the strategy they developed after the Korean pear accident?)Round 2--She only agreed to return the money to my store card which I left in my car in the parking lot.Round 3--She finally agreed to return the money and the amount was not correct. I found that after getting on my car while I was emotionally too exhausted to go back to the store.Although I am not a professional in retailing, I assume that pricing mistakes are never fun. It is a shame that they keep saying we value our customers while allowing the pricing error to happen again and again. Since I have no desire to deal with their unreasonable manager anymore, I will stop shopping there. If you shop there often, please make sure you check your receipt before leaving.
Weve been coming here at least once a week since they had their soft opening, mostly for their food at the food court. We dont grocery shop much, but the grocery prices seem comparable to Mitsuwa, maybe a little cheaper. The things that we have bought weve really enjoyed, such as:- The food court is a bit small, but the roast duck and salted duck are great. About a dollar more than in Chinatown, but we dont have to go down there now to get good Roast Duck. Beef noodle soup is great, with a good amount of beef. Pho is pretty good too. Not the best, but tasty with a good amount of meat. The food in the hot bar changes daily, I think depending on the cook that day. There are some good dishes in the hot bar.- The bakery has a good amount of different pastries. Most of the pastries are about 2 something, but theres a few pastries that are 1 something like the japanese red bean bun. We usually stick with that and the custard bun. Wish they had the variety and cheap prices as the bakeries down in Chinatown, but I dont think it would ever be cost effective for them here.- They have a great variety of chinese snacks and desserts. I was excited when I saw guai guai corn snacks there, I havent had them since I was a kid. I had my daughter try them and she loved them as well, so I was happy to share something with her that I enjoyed as a child. I just wish they included a toy in the snacks still. We also like their red bean in sticky rice wrapped in leaves as well.I hope International Village is successful and stays in business for a long time. Theyre just a 7 minute drive from my house and we will regularly buy food and dessert from there every week.
Best Hongkong Barbeque in Northwest suburb. Excellent Cantones barbeque pork (charsiu), duck, and pork belly. I tried them all several times. Delicious and great quality each time. The price is very reasonable. They serve other Asian food too. The food court is clean and well managed. Other than the food court, there are a variety of groceries. My only complain is the price varies from reasonable to pricey. You may want to compare price if this is your concern too.
I had been coming here since we moved around the area. I love this market! I see all Asian food and drinks here than driving all the way to Chicago. However, I came in today to buy cherries which states on their ad ($.99/lb) but to my dismay, it is priced $1.99 and I said to myself, its okay no big deal. Theres only one bag left and I asked a woman who works there if they have more at the back and she said none. At this point I am starting to get annoyed as this is a supermarket! How can you be out of cherries?! I asked when are they getting shipment and the woman already gave me an attitude. You can tell by her facial expression that she didnt wanna talk to me any further when I just wanna know whens their next shipment is so I can just come back but nevermind. Their customer service sucks and their weekly ad is unreliable and dishonest. I feel sad. Now I need to look for another market to go to.
Looks like many of the freezer cases arent working and that some of the food has defrosted and been refrozen in the past. Some refrigerated items were past date. Shelf stable products look okay. There was some leaking in the roof in one of the middle aisles. Lastly, the smell in the store was not great.
Beautiful, clean shopping market! Love the fresh sushi from cafe, cashier & chef at cafe were very nice! The girl who signed me up for a membership card was very nice also. Had a terrific experience until I had to checkout. Cashier Saralina was rude & not very friendly. Had my two yr old with me & she was glaring at her bc she was rambling loudly as some 2 yr olds do. Saralina needs to learn how to smile & put on a friendly faces if shes going to be providing customer service to the public. I run a retail store myself & after providing customer service all day I expect the same in return. Wouldve rated store much higher if it werent for the final checkout experience!
There was one women, cashier or manager I don’t know. She made me feel uncomfortable because I could see that she was worrying that my children or me will steal something. First when we entered she said my son can’t run with that shoes . We are going anywhere costco or other stores but no one warned me about his shoes. I feel sad because I never in my life steal anything nor my children. How someone can judge you without seeing you first time. Probably It will take long time to go there again
Wow If you are visiting Illinois you shouldn’t miss this very good an well stocked store where you can find almost anything you are looking for in this kind of store great products like fresh fish and Great and professional attention ,my luck was this very polite person named Saralina Esqueda who guided me through the store with an endless smile and suggested me the best choices, I truly recommend this store to anyone who’s looking for great quality products,PS:Look for Saralina.....

2022-02-22I cannot think of anything to wish for to this grocery store because everything I could ever wish and even anything I could want when it comes to Asian groceries and foods are available in this amazing store.I would start to the parking and the size of the grocery store. The parking is huge and has a lot of spaces while the whole store is spacious as well that it would really take for like double the time of the usual grocery time I could because the store is huge and there are various things to find and to look forward too. It is also clean and well-organized.Second, the produce is very fresh as well as the meat and seafood section. There is a variety of selection of Asian goodies just basically everything I could really ask for that is available in this store at average prices. I also know other Asian grocery store like this one but I can definitely tell that this store is the better.Lastly, for me this is the best part of this store which is their food court with various stalls for different hot foods, drink, pastries and the likes from different Asian countries. The foods I tried so far from the food court are really good and definitely authentic. Take note that there would be times that it may take a while before you could get and order your food based on experience because there are times that there is a long line especially to those foods that tastes the best.

2022-07-10This is a hidden gem in Schaumburg! By far one of the most diverse Asian grocery stores I have been to. The meat and frozen goods is amazingly vast. The veggie and fruit section was not as big as I thought it was going to be. They also have a decent food court and a bubble tea place in the grocery that one cannot go wrong with. I would place this as my second/third favorite asian grocery store in Illinois! I highly recommend people to check this spot out!

2021-04-29My first time in a Fresh International Market and i never wanted to leave! Every kind of packaged noodle you could want, a fresh (frozen) fish ball section you buy by the pound, a butcher, Shiseido makeup counter, plenty of fresh food and an amazing skin care section. I will be seeking out this store in every city I visit from now on! Super clean, well-lit and very organized.

2022-07-09Great store and has lots of good Asian items! LOVE the food they sell and I always shop here but I rated it a 3 because the prices are always so inaccurate. I bought 2 bags of rice thats priced as 22.99 but scanned as 24.99. Im disappointed because the cashier couldnt honor both items at 22.99 even if it was what it stated on the bag. Sometimes they advertise an item on sale but when scanned, it charges you the original price. Hence, always double check your receipt. Please fix your pricing system.

2021-06-05One of my favorite stores! I always find something great here. Most recently I went to purchase a cheesecake to bring a friend as a housewarming gift. Left with many, many other items I could not resist. I love their bubble tea, too! I didnt have time this visit to grab the fresh boba tea from the shop at the front but I found many great boba items to fill the void. Also these are my favorite face masks!

2021-03-21Two things stand out here and calls me back! The Boba tea and the Taiwanese breads. The Brown Sugar Boba is highly addictive! Deep tea flavor and the brown sugar complements it wonderfully. The Taiwanese breads, always loved them and just so glad that they are available in the burbs. My fav is the pork floss roll!
