Gem of a park and one of our oldest ones. Its a lovely, tree-lined, strolling park with a nice playground and sand pit.
Beautiful park if you want scenery! So lovely in the fall!
Nice park. Picnic tables are spaced out that you can socially distance, many under trees. There is abundant shade and a playground for kids.
Wonderful Park. But, it’s beauty would drastically improve if the city planted bushes, shrubs, anything other than a tree.
Great place to walk around. Does not get the attention and proper attention that it deserves from the city of Bloomington. Trees not properly groomed and lawn does not get properly maintained. I go there almost daily.
Park surrounded by what seemed like college frat houses. Loud parties going on all around. Guy sleeping in park a bit disturbing. Made for good conversation. Not my first choice for bringing the kids to play.
My girls loved playing at the playground and exploring near by neighborhood. Learning about historic homes, and buildings.
A lovely old neighborhood park. Small playground, grand old trees, on-street parking . Its got a quiet peaceful vibe which is very attractive.

Beautiful and peaceful park, surrounded by historic homes. Plenty of picnic areas, playground equipment, sandbox area for kids, and lovely trees of all kinds. Prime spot for pix in the fall.
A quaint park with lots of mature trees, off the beaten path. Lots of room for children to run and play. Does not have a lot of playground equipment, but the equipment it does have is very unique and imaginative.

Nice older park with historical houses and remains of monument dedicated to the 700 McLean county residents that died in the Civil war. The land was given to the city by David Davis to be used as a park.
Its a large grassy area with lots of trees but a small play area. It is a very nice play set. No restrooms.

2022-06-16Great park with lots of sand box toys.(big seller for my son) also have great summer shows and there is shade everywhere within walking distance of several other places.

2021-08-16We love Franklin park. It is away from any main roads, so much quieter than other Bloomington parks. The playground equipment is very unique as well, it blends in with the trees that its mixed with. My kids love the giant sandbox.

2020-10-14We were at this park 10 years ago since then theyve added these neat little logs to walk around on and a sand area with a new play structure. Love it. The trees this time of year are gorgeous. Perfect weather before we all freeze!

2020-12-16I read books here. A lot. One time, even in the rain. But if youre ever feeling lonely, the squirrels in this park will spent time with you for sure. Just make sure to bring them a snack! The squirrels prefer peanut butter-based candy bar offerings and/or shelled peanuts. There are no bodies of water in this park, just trees and benches and, of course, squirrels. Its very safe - its impossible to drown at Franklin Park! Be on the lookout for the white squirrel! Shes very elusive, but makes appearances from time to time. All you have to do is look up. A lot.

2019-05-20I go here often to walk my dog. Its a great place to go in the summer especially when it starts to get too hot because theres a good amount of shade it makes it more tolerable when the temperatures get too high. Theres a great amount of places to sit if you need to just relax. Good place if youre older or had disabilities and have to take breaks in between your walking. Its also a great place to go if you want to have a quick lunch at a picnic table on your lunch break from work or whatever. Its a good place to go thats not busy to take a child and a small playground area. It is also scenic if you like looking at older homes. Historic homes
