Beautiful site with views of lake/boat dock a distance off the hike path. I walked the hike the trail that took you through a savanna & two boardwalk bridges over low lands. Bridges are very well built & excellent condition. Beautiful wild flowers on the 1st day of fall. Peaceful walk.
Stopped in on a ride, trails seem very well maintained although there is only a couple miles of trails. The views were wonderful and it was relatively quiet for how close it was to the road. Good place for a short walk or picnic, not enough space for other activities.
Really nice park. Except the county forgot its a park and there needs to be at least out houses to use for the disabled. They probably just overlooked the State law.I would hope they fix that since now there is Eagle viewing there at a active nest.Kids and parents alike deserve to see that.It would also be nice to leave the parking open throughout the park year round except when closed at night. Esp in winter since they plow the whole park. Its clean, fishing and picknicks. Family fun for everyone
We reserved their Shelter B for a party. The shelter was large, with ample tables, a big grill and even electricity. We were close to the parking lot, walking paths and a huge field which made it easy to see up and gave us plenty to do.. The nearby restrooms were clean and well-maintained.

2022-06-28A great place to bike or walk! I especially love the little wooden walkway on the red trail. Good for gentle biking; there arent extreme elevation gains unless you go up the larger hill with the nice view of the water. Keep going along the yellow trail and youll exit near Riverwalk. I always see a ton of birds and animals when I visit!

2020-06-14The perfect action kayak ride for a non-whitewater rapids day. With hundreds of boat passes, the water gets choppy, but nooit add wickedly as Lake Michigan. Just enough to get motion and to make use of for speedier rowing. Up around the bend is The Broken Oar bar and restaurant, for quick stops, etc. Along the banks are fairly interesting sights, and a 3-4 hour row can be an actively relaxing workout for an afternoon or morning. Kayaks pay $5 (passport parking app) for launching at the reserves boat launch

2020-08-18Best place launch into the Lower Fox River. Has four launch ramps and a great staging area for your boat. Also doesn’t close until late. Coat varies but they have a mobile app now to make payment easy.

2021-06-26Beautiful sites. Would love if the red trail eventually gets looped back to yellow trail towards the river/marine.

2021-03-20Great preserve. Saw an Eagles nest and cranes/herons. I deducted a star because the bathrooms were closed. All the other ones I went to this winter were open year round. Put a sign up at in the parking lot so people know!!
