Friendly people everything was organized well and they were eager to help those in need if you find yourself on a less than ideal situation and need to use a food bank is would reccomend this one they have quality food and you can shop as needed whithin the limits that they clearly outline
Cratering to local Elgin residents.Very friendly and non intimidating.Great choices, like going to your super market. Meat, produce and dairy products along with canned goods..As in most donation pantries, some products are dated and unusable, just choose what you can use in a week or two, with your best interest and health in mind. Dont over shop as storage could be an issue and then waste sets in. In other words, take all you can use. but use all you take. There are certain limits as to how many of each item your allowed. More than enough for most any family.
Wonderful place that cares for the people.
Mrs. Jackson and her staff are always courteous,and always finding ways too help anybody help themselves. The educational tools that are available (books,health info & assistance,community awareness,employment assistance,etc.). Awesome!
This place dosent know how to organize, also the boss in their is races ... she sends people that were infront waiting to the back nd than she dosent even tell anything to the black ladys only Hispanics... Ill rather goo to willow creek atleast they know how to organize things and theirs never problems like in this place.

Amazing people and vibe. Lots of attention was paid to preserving the dignity of people there and attending to details food shelters and other assistance programs neglect, and we left with so much food we couldnt shut the trunk of our car.

There is a staff change that is not as friendly as the old staff. There is no longer registering when you come in by giving you a number in the oder you come in. Now its a lottery system where you grab a number and wait even if you came in ahead a bunch of people they might go in before you and get called.
A great place to go if you need help. Has a wide selection of things to choose from. You wont get much meat but. Thats ok because it all balances out. I would suggest donating to them when youre back on your feet.
The food pantry is great! I wish they could do something better with the produce. It feels like being offered garbage..
Although I have not been to the center in a few years the staff is usually very respectful and helpful and there is a vast selection of food, both shelf and refrigerated.
They are kind and respectful. They do not make you feel bad that you need help. Went without for days, they really saved me.

This is a wonderful food pantry . The thing I love the most is I can walk thru and pick whatever my family would eat . They also have an pet food pantry on certain days as well .

Del at company across the street, the people that go there block off the whole street and keep you from making deliveries. They dont care when you complain.

Very bad today I went and what I did not like I hope I do not have the need to return an American treatment to an Ispana lady very badly I take the food from the bags and said very badly you can not put anything in bags in here and Arrive at the meat area grab three serdo products that were marked and then go to the area to take three of beef and take one and the lord told me already anxious you can not grab 4 in a bad way screaming and do not stop there when I left raining a lot and an American boy threw the cars Ami sister and said in English out of here I do not think it is the skin rash skin rash I do not know what we are going to stop

2022-05-24I was in need of groceries for my family this week. I heard about this place and immediately went to take a look. It was a welcoming place, no judgement on my circumstances, and lots of options for meat and veggies. God bless y’all!

2022-04-16Very Happy with this place there is a guy in the meat he has a mask with the greece flag forgot his name but this guy either he knows you and he gives you extra meat or he opens the freezers behind him and gets the good stuff and gives extra to certain people but if he doesnt know you he ia rude and just tells you 1 item but other people just loads them with items shouldnt be complaining cause its free food but if the rule is 1 item then everyone should get 1 item not just because you know the person that person gets more i seen him where he will scream at the person and say 1 item take out and put back thats not fair when we see he giving more to others

2022-01-31Ive been going here for years now. The volunteers are always so nice, theres really great choices with food, their produce section has expanded a lot within the last year or so, and 99.9% of the time they have vegetarian options at the freezers, just ask :) theyve been a huge help especially when I wasnt working and struggling just to buy gas. Youll always leave with a heavy cart, its very hard not to haha It looks like they get donations from jewels, starbucks, trader joes, and some health food stores. I donate when I can too. I got a huge container of chocolate workout protein once. Even if you dont think you qualify and you still need some help for the week I 100% recommend stopping by, theyll help you out :)

2020-12-03A friend needed help and I called on their behalf for guidance. They were supportive and food was delivered to the family in less than 24 hours after I spoke to the Director. I was even able to get my friend on a list so the family could receive food weekly to help during these challenging times.

2019-11-08The volunteers and staff are very kind and welcoming. You are given a number to wait until its your turn to shop. This makes it uncrowded and easier to shop. Its just like a regular warehouse store like Costco. You can pick whatever you want, although there are some limits on how much you can take of certain items. There are even organic products here! What a wonderful gift to the poor ❤️

2019-09-30I visited the pantry and was very impressed with the work Sheila and Sara do for the great residents from the surrounding area. I worked as a volunteer last Thursday and witnessed first hand the amazing talent and helpfulness of their volunteer staff and how nice their guests were. The generosity of their sponsors is quite remarkable and the venue is as clean as a whistle. To my friends who view this post please donate as best you can. Your thoughtfulness helps 1000 or more families per month who need our help and understanding. To Sheila and Sara you are to be congratulated for your spectacular work and a hearty handshake to their staff and volunteers. There is a special place in heaven for you

2021-02-05First of all , the rest room is always cleanq and from the moment that you step in the building 🏫 the environment is very pleasant but most importantly you get to select the food you want to take home and this is extremely important to client with a diet restrictionsA great big thank you to the Staff andvolunteerss

2019-06-11May God bless this organization. Its always a great experience. They have thee best selection of food. The wait time was about 1 hour long but it was well worth it! Arrive early to avoid the long line and bring plenty of bags as well. Ps: Be sure to check the date on the package, I seen alot of expired food.
