Great customer service! Very nice & polite staff!! I definitely would recommend Fix My Gadget!! Both experiences we have had with them were great! Shawn is a great asset to the store! Thanks again Shawn for your help with our Granddaughters tablet! Definitely will be return customers for any gadget problems in the future!!
I tried to get my phone repaired here as the glass on my back camera was cracked -- pretty simple and easy repair. I paid to have the correct part shipped to the store and was told to bring in the phone the next day and they would fix it on the spot. I get there and they tell me that their mobile technician for the day was out and Id have to bring it at the same time tomorrow -- assuring me that they could get it done. I came the next day and AGAIN they told me their mobile tech left for the day even though we just held the same conversation the day before and completely assured me it would be taken care of. Guess what I was told again? To come back the next day at the same time and someone would be there. What an unprofessional store that did nothing but waste my time for such a simple repair. If you value your time go literally anywhere else.UPDATE: Shortly after posting the above review, I was contacted by the owner of the store who was very polite and wanted to make things right by fixing the phone free of charge, which was the right thing to do. I agreed to come in the next day to finally have the repair completed. The technician repairing my camera glass scratched the edges of the camera module and left dust underneath the glass directly in line with the ultra-wide camera, messing up the cameras focus in the process. What was the solution offered? To come into the store a 4th time to see if they can fix it again -- why on Gods green earth would anyone trust that after this? I can safely say that this is by far the worst customer experience I have ever had, anywhere. And Im not exaggerating.UPDATE 2:The owner contacted me again, offering to take another look at the camera and get the dust out. I dropped it off and the technician was able to clean some of the dust out, to the point that the focus began working properly again, though there was still some underneath -- hoping it doesnt shift around and do the same thing.Overall, while my experience with the store itself was not good, the owner was very polite and did everything he could to make it right, even did the repair free of charge. However, the overall experience was just too poor for me to recommend. The customer service outside of the owner was poor and the quality of the repair was below average.
You wont find a more professional and affordable repair service in Peoria. The owner truly cares about his customers as well as the quality of his businesss service. If you want it done right but dont want to mail your phone off to Apple or Samsung this is your best option.
I want to say they did a good job replacing my hdmi port a few months ago. They did fix the port and it still works. The reason its 3 stars and not 5 is because when I took my ps4 apart to remove a coin... i discovered that in the process they stripped out one of the torque screws. I would have waited extra time to get my console back if it meant even a new screw. But no they left the stripped out screw in place. Now i CANNOT remove anything to even get to the disc drive.... so long story short I have a failing disc drive that I cant even replace. I have to buy a new ps4 essentially.
So I went in there to get my iPhone fixed the screen and they fixed it within 30 minutes but then told me my home screen button will no longer work anymore I was not that worried about that long is the phone worked so two days after I got my phone fixed my front camera would not work anymore so I took it back they fixed it and then the next day my whole screen is fuzzy and the camera doesn’t work anymore at this point I’m better off just buying another phone I don’t want to take it back up there anymore to waste anymore money or time I am not satisfied for my first time I recommend taking it to your company or get insurance on your phone because this is not it
I had a broken charger lodged inside my iPad charging port.brought it to Fix My Gadget and Jordan took it inside the backroom and managed to dis lodge the broken part then I asked what I owed him. He told me it its theirpolicy to not charge customers for courtesy repair. Wow! Does that ever happen anymore?? Thank you Jordan for your expertise and fixing my iPad! You are terrific!
I highly recommend Fix My Gadget in Peoria, IL. I thought my husbands cellphone was unrepairable, but Sean fixed it up to look like new. His phone was very old, but Sean had all the parts to repair it in only an hour. Sean, was very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. We are very pleased, and will definitely come back.
Jayshun W. was so helpful and professional! We were trying to repair my son’s phone and Jayshun assured us that he could do it. Not only did they have no hidden charges, they had the repairs done in less than an hour👍😅! We would recommend them over and over!Thank you!
!!! Wow !!! Great experience I had with Sean at the University Av Peoria IL location. Not once, but two separate events. The first was not the news I wanted, yet he was realistic and professional with the news and my options. The second event was resolved and exceeded my expectations! Polite, professional, great looking store, inside and out. Highly recommended. Thank you Sean!
My laptop case had broken hinges and the touch screen did not work. They were able to fix it and returned it to the way it looked when I bought it! The touch screen works again! They were able to repair my laptop when another place didnt even want to touch it. They kept me informed of the progress every step of the way. I recommend this business to anyone that needs their gadget fixed.
I’ve come to this business multiple times over the past few years for my phone and laptop (both Apple products), and I have been consistently impressed with the employees’ readiness to help and competence in doing so. Such a relief to have a reliable place to go when my devices break down!***(Edited August 2021)Not sure if there’s new management but the last few interactions with Fix My Gadget have not been up to par. I had to bring my computer back in a 3rd time in a row (!) for the same problem that they admit is their fault (low-quality battery replacement? seems strange), and both of these last two times, I’ve had to call them to see what the prognosis is, after they promised to call but then never did.Disappointing, as they used to be so reliable.
I had some serious technical issues getting my phone fixed via manufacturers warranty OR through my phones insurance policy. However, I went to Fix My Gadget and they got it fixed for cheaper than what making an insurance claim would have been and shorter than what using my manufacturers warranty would have been. I should have gone to them first! And they even said if the battery wasnt the issue, they would refund me so I would have only paid the price for a diagnosis. Fantastic!
My boyfriend had his phone screen fixed at the Peoria location and literally ONE DAY after the two week hardware warranty, the screen pops out, has ghost touch issues, will not allow incoming calls, and some other weird stuff. Literally didn’t have one problem with it until taking it here... so disappointing to spend $150 on having an intact screen but on a phone that doesn’t work well anymore. He decided to just wait until he upgrades to get it resolved out of fear of it worsening even further.
I brought in my phone for repair of camera glass cover which had shattered above only the middle camera lens. When I took it in, there was no loose glass anywhere, and the other 2 cameras were still covered. The repair ended up damaging my phone, as the removal of the remaining glass was botched and got shards into my lower camera module, ultimately scrating the ultra-wide lens. Glass from the outer cover fell into the inner cover, and slid into it. The focus mechanism stopped on any distance, and the ultra-wide lens had glass shards visible in the module. I returned to get it repaired and tje glass pieces removed, but the techs did not remove the glass shards.I was quoted an additional $98 to repair the camera module and to come back in a month.tl;dr: paid to swap a broken outer glass cover, got glass shards in past INNER glass during the repair and as a result, scratched my camera lens.
These guys are great! I’ve used them for all sorts of issues. They’ve replaced batteries and cracked screens. Recently, I thought that my laptop had picked up a virus. They checked it, at no cost, and assured me that everything was fine. They even recommended some minor changes that could save me some $$$.
I went to fix my gadget This afternoon. Sean helped me with my iPhone and my tablet. He was extremely patient with me since I have no technology experience at all. He corrected the problem immediately and like I said was very kind and patient and very knowledgeable. Thank you very very much Sean !
Highly recommend this business/the Peoria store on North University. Have needed their services many times and they can always fix the problem. They are very nice and they are willing to help with any issues, even simple tech questions. If you are not tech savvy, this is the place to go. Sean has helped me several times and is excellent.
Went in January or February for a home button replacement and they did a quick and professional job. Fast forwarding to August and the button they put in malfunctioned. Came in and they couldn’t find my info due to the company changing owners and they still honored my warranty with a fast and professional replacement. They will forever have my business.
These people are hugely helpful and understand everyone isnt made of money. I had my Google pixel XL3 screen brake and they was able to fix it in about a week. The cost upfront may be pricey but you can trust that they are giving you the lowest price. Most importantly, they do good work.Warren helped me out greatly. Very down to earth and understanding company.
Dropped phone off before 10:30am. Website said 45 mins. Store said 4hrs. Its been over eight and a half hours and they still cant tell us when itll be done.Update: we went in for a broken screen and now there are more problems than before. The sensors arent working, the screen lights arent working, and a handful of other problems. These were working prior, the screen just was slightly cracked. Im not sure what went wrong, but it sounds like they broke it more. Were having to send the phone back to the company now to get a new one (refurbished). I dont know why this place was recommended to fix our phone. Hopefully it was just a new guy who messed up otherwise theyll be out of business soon.
I would highly recommend this store and its technician, Samuel. I had watched more than 10 Youtube videos and was able to install a new battery in my iPhone but wasnt able to get all the phones functions to work after putting the phone back together. I took my phone in this morning, and Samuel was able to quickly and correctly diagnose that one of the connectors wasnt fully pushed in and got my phone working again within minutes. I was extremely relieved. Next time I need a new battery in a phone, I will let Samuel install it for me.
They dont keep any new phone parts in stock. So pretty much not good for anything but screen repairs.Added I have a S20 ultra one of the newest on the market still and had broken the camera screen glass. Then talked to someone from your company that said oh bring in your phone for a free estimate. I told them it was the camera glass. He then said the the glass replacement would be $89 , or whole camera replacement would be $125. Didnt say anything about ordering anything. I drove an hour to get my phone fixed, and we dont have those in stock it was a friday and we wont have anything till Wednesday next week. So i fixed it myself for $17 from Amazon and got it on Saturday. Piss on your over priced company. Thanks YouTube.
Dropped my iPhone 6 Plus on my garage floor. Majorly cracked. I found Fix My Gadget to be very professional and reasonably priced. It was less expensive to have it fixed than upgrade or make an insurance claim. Less than 30 minutes and I was done. Happy to recommend them to anyone who wants good service from a professional local business.
I recently did a diy desktop build and couldnt figure out why it wouldnt power on. In less then 10 minutes Sean helped me point out the issue, and with just a few changes the Power was ON!!! So relieved! I asked him what I owned him and he told me it was just a simple diagnostics test. No charge. I am completely, hands down, 1000%, so very thankful for these guys. 🙏🙏 Thanks again Sean!!
I have used Fix My Gadget for several years. However the last visit will be the last. I sent my daughter to them to have her phone screen fixed. Not only did they not honor the price the quoted, but the failed to communicate the extent of the damage to the phone. I called several times to find out what was wrong with the phone. Was it the screen? LED? What? I was told it was the screen and LED. No mention of water damage. Had I been told, I would have immediately filed an insurance claim and replaced the phone. Fast forward two weeks and the phone is completely dead. When I called to find out the damage, a VERY Rude employee informed that there was water damage in the phone and it was there when they replaced the screen/LED. When I asked why this wasnt communicated, he was snotty with his reply of HOW DO YOU EXPECT ME TO TELL YOU??? I have replaced a dozen or more screens using Fix My Gadget but that was the last one.
After waiting outside the War Memorial location for about 15 minutes after it was supposed to be open, I called their number. The woman who answered was quite rude and short saying repeatedly, Theres really nothing I can do about it! I completely understand this, but she was so short and defensive when I really just wanted some information on if the store would be opening soon. So, I drove to the University location, and waited to get my phone battery replaced. I was surprised when the woman in the beanie told me it would be a 45 minute wait as there wasnt anyone else in the store, but I left and came back 45 minutes later. On my return, the beanie lady was gone, and instead a different guy told me in a surprised tone, Oh, your phones been done for a while. Glad you came back to get it! He rang me up and overcharged me by $30. I noticed this error and asked him about it, and he did correct his mistake. On giving me back my phone, he peeled off the bar code sticker, but left the entire sticker length of white reside on the back of my uncovered phone.Overall, this was just a frustrating experience that seemed to result from poor communication and lack of motivation for excellent customer service. I would definitely try a few other places before ever returning to Fix My Gadget
I dont usually leave reviews however Im doing it now. Fix my Gadget did a spectacular job ,On my Galaxy S5. When I came to them I I didnt believe that it was possible. They prove me wrong. My phone looks brand new again and all of my data is there. Thanks again to the friendly and Professional Service you guys are quick to.
No matter WHAT you do, do NOT give them your email address if you go here. They send you so many awful emails that are absolutely riddled with grammatical and spelling errors. They look like theyre not proofread, and that theyre written by a middle schooler. Incredibly embarrassing and spammy. I get several a month some months.Mediocre service, overpriced, AWFUL advertising tactics and ownership, shows a complete lack of care and respect for the business and for their customers.
DO NOT GO TO THIS STORE!!! I paid 130 to have my iPad mini screen replaced. The first time I picked it up I made it all the way home and noticed the screen was protruding and not secured down properly. I took it back and came to pick it up again the next day. They gave it back to me with the screen cracked and still not secured down. The third time I came to pick it up the employee said he forgot to call me and tell me the iPad still wasn’t fixed. A cable came loose so he had to take it apart and put the screen back on again. Today I go to pick it up for the fourth time and the screen is still popping up and not glued down properly. I was told there was no way to get a refund unless they got the part back. So if I wanted my mom back I would have an iPad with literally no screen. Don’t ever have your devices fixed here. They are not professional at all.
I tool my iPad mini in for a screen repair. Once that was finally done (later by a week than promised), I picked it up and found they had done something to the power button so it would no longer darken the screen, only power off. They had it for several more days and *fixed* it. Took it home and while they had it, they must have damaged something else as my Touch ID continues to error and can’t be set up. I just want my money back so I can take it somewhere else and get this new issue they caused fixed.
Had a very bad experience with this place. I called an employee and asked about pricing and what not, he told me the exact price that I’d have to pay if I wanted to get my cracked screen replaced. I went in that same day and actually payed about 15 dollars more than we discussed on the phone. It didn’t bother me though until the next day when I went back to pick my phone up he told me he rang me up for the wrong phone. I then had to pay an extra 20 dollars. It wasn’t really a big deal to me because I was just happy to get my phone fixed! I drove home and opened up my camera and it was VERY blurry. I could barley see anything. I looked close to my screen and I noticed a tiny piece of plastic of some sort that was covering half of the camera. I then called them the next day and they told me to bring it back in. I did so and the guy noticed the same thing that I did. He told me to come back tomorrow. I came back the next day and they told me they fixed it. I opened up the camera and it was better than before but it was still very blurry! I wasn’t being picky at all but the camera was worse than my old iPhone 5s. I really felt unappreciated as a customer and cheated out of the one hundred plus dollars I spent. I highly recommend you go to another place to fix your phone!Edit: They also locked my phone! I had to erase all of my data and sign into my iCloud on my computer to use it
Fix My Gadget responded very professionally to the needs of my Apple Ipad Mini and My Apple Ipad Ipro....one needed a digitizer [mini] and the other needed to be reset [ipro] as there were complications after an upgrade would NOT complete. Many attempts were made with ITunes to reset but the ipro would not accept this way. One of their professional technicians handled the problem expediently!
Fix My Gadget has saved me TONS of money spent needlessly at other businesses just because they want to make more money by trying to persuade me to purchase a new cell phone. Their service is always friendly and professional. I highly recommend to go there first to everyone I know instead of going to Big Box to spend a lot more money than what is necessary.
The employees at this store are so knowledgeable and helpful! There was no wasted wait time for logistics. There was no red tape keeping them from fixing my phone issues. They were extra helpful in explaining my situation to me in addition to fixing it. This is how customer service should be!
I came to Peoria from Pekin because I was unsure how to manage my apps and Shawn was extremely helpful from the first phone call to helping in the store and I would recommend this store to everyone . I must also say that all this tech is frustrating but shawn took that all away.
Ive used fix my gadget two times now, theyve been really quick to fix my phone screen each time. However this time when i went to go get my screen fixed and a new battery put in they damaged my phone. It must of been where they stuck their tool into the phone to take the old screen off but its dented out by the volume buttons, easy fix for me but its the fact that they didnt fix it before they gave me the phone back, thats quite annoying. I mean i just gave them $160 (iphone 6s) to have something else wrong with my phone. Like i said at least its an easy fix for me. Pricing however i dont think is right, Ive seen a review where someone with an iphone 6s plus paid 150 for the same services i got? Other than those small issues i would recommend others to go here. I ONLY go to the one in the metro center, much nicer employees.
I brought my Nexus here for a battery replacement, and had a very poor experience. They got the battery replaced, but the process was full of issues. Ultimately it took 3 weeks as they had to replace additional parts due to damage they caused. My phone now works with the new battery, but it is covered in tool marks, deep scratches, and burn marks from their heat gun. I will not be a returning customer. Based on my experience, they can probably get your phone fixed, but itll get beat up cosmetically, and therefore loose a lot of value in the used phone market.
Today I called the Fix My Gadget on University because I had broken my iPhone screen and was unable to back it up onto iTunes on my MacBook because i couldnt click Trust this Computer with a broken screen. After a fruitless visit to Verizon, I called Fix My Gadget. The associate echoed Verizons response, that there was nothing to be done... I asked a few questions, and he paused for a minute. All of a sudden he said that, actually, I could bring my phone in and they would be able to help me. When I got there, Samuel, the associate I had spoken with, set my phone up with a temporary screen so that I could back it up to my MacBook, allowing me to transfer all my contacts/photo/etc. that I had thought I would lose to my new phone.I am so thankful for his help! He did not have to do that, as that is not a service offered by the company. He did not charge me a thing, but rather chose to help me out of the goodness of his heart because he had the skills and resources to do so, and I did not. On top of all that, it was a very busy day in the store, and he still took the time to assist me. I will certainly be returning for any issues I have in the future! Thank you!!!!!
I have heard so many great things about this place from many people. Today I needed them bad and the car through. I got my headphones jack broken off in the audio port, so I could only use my my Galaxy S7 on speaker phone. They saved the day and got it removed with some special tool. Will be referring people. Highly recommended and I appreciate them so much. A customer for life.
Just to let those thinking about getting something fixed with Fix My Gadget, I am so happy right now. I have heard many good things about this place. And yesterday I needed them. And they delivered as promised. My Samsung Note 5 is back to mint condition with their TLC treatment.
I have a student away at Bradley who broke the new laptop. We found FixMyGadget on Yelp & gave them a shot. I was nervous because I was not there to do this!!! I called the store first & spoke to Dustin. I felt VERY confident sending my Bradley student in. Well can I say, the issue (cracked LCD screen) was fixed in 2 days!!! NOT OVERPRICED!!! Staff was friendly & professional. The University St store location was only an 8 min Uber ride from campus. I HIGHLY recommend this store & will be bad in the future if we need them (which we better NOT!!)
Had Jay at the Facility clean my phone speaker, working in a fab shop, im thinking it had some metal dust that made the sound distorted, he did a great job all with in a hourIll need to replace the Zagg Screen Protector but its a small price compared to buying a new deviceThanks Jay Wyatt
The replacement screen for my Note 4 was delivered overnight and fixed by the end of the day. But, the replacement screen is not Gorilla Glass like the original screen. The new screen was scratched almost immediately. The new screen is also more curved that the original. I cant get a glass screen protector to install without lifting off both sides of the screen. Had to resort to plastic screen protectors to prevent any more scratches to the screen. The staff was helpful and I will have future repairs done there but I will be much more picky about what parts are used the next time around.
I dont know that one star is even applicable. A few months back, I cracked my phone screen, and of course the LCD screen along with it. I had heard from a few people that Fix My Gadget was a decent place to go, and 105.7 promotes it so often, I decided to try it out. To start, when I entered the store there was one employee on a Sunday and two people in the waiting area. This completely blew my mind because of the high volume of impaired people on weekends + electronics = damage. I waited for about 15 minutes to be helped, and when I was, the man told me he could get it done that day. Then when I was about to give him my information, he told me he probably wont be able to because he had 4 other phones ahead of me. I informed him that I really needed my phone, and if I dropped it off I would need to have it back at close of business. He told me that he would work it out and get it done. I was very happy. I told him if anything changes, to call my boyfriends phone before close so that I wouldnt waste money driving all the way from North Pekin (this was prior to the store opening in Pekin.) I provided him my boyfriends phone number and made sure he wrote it down. So I paid the $180 that left me completely broke, and I left the store. I was very happy that he didnt call my boyfriend and I left to drive to Peoria to the University store to pick it up. There were three people in the waiting area and he was the only employee, which is not his fault, that is a VERY POOR management call, and I think, the entire problem with my visit. When I went up to the counter he said, Hello, may I help you? (This was 3 hours after we last spoke, and he did not remember me at all.) I reminded him of my phone and the scenerio, and he told me, Oh I cant get to it today, sorry. My work hours are 8 AM - 5 PM Monday through Friday and to say the least, I was outraged. If you are going to promote quick turn around time and fast-paced service, ACCOMMODATE and HOLD UP TO your word. I did not have a phone for almost 3 days, because it broke Saturday. And when I asked for a refund so that I could take my phone to the store in the mall, the man denied me the refund and he told me they were closed. I didnt have a device to fact check him, so I drove all the way home to check on the internet, where I confirmed they had been open that day and would have been able to assist me. When I went to pick up my phone Monday [On my 15 minute break], I waited 30 mins for someone to assist me. [The man who I spoke to on Sunday was there and he still forgot who I was. He looked startled, and informed me he would go take care of it real quick. HE STILL HAD NOT REPLACED THE LCD & GLASS.] This place is a hot mess, and promotes false advertising. I am not impressed whatsoever, and would have rather paid the extra HUNDREDS of dollars for a new phone rather than going through that TERRIBLE process again. Please advise.
They did a good job fixing my cracked iphone screen, however now the color and brightness of my phone has been affected. Colors are now more dull and I have to keep my brightness very high to be able to see anything, whereas before I could keep the brightness pretty low.
I didnt know about this place until the battery in my smartphone went bad. I searched the internet and found this place and took my phone to them they fixed my battery in my Motorola Droid 2 while I ate lunch. It was inexpensive and much cheaper than carrying insurance. this is the way to go if you have a smartphone with a problem and probably even a laptop or other device.
F.M.G. had my computer for two weeks, literally 14 days. I was told three times that someone would call me, NO ONE did. After bugging them I was promised that some unspecified person would get on it. What had they been doing for 10 days! I called again and was told that someone was supposed to have called me to get authorization to make the repairs as if I would tell them not to! $200 dollar repair bill, I was offered $20 off as an apology but I demanded $40. The kid told me he couldnt do that until I said that Oh, yes you will. A voice of a person from the back , that I never saw, told him to go ahead and do it. It is a two hour round trip. When I got home and got into it, in some ways it was worse than before F.M.G. got their hands on it. One of the first problems that I noticed was that the keyboard would not work with the mouse or vis versa, except when they did. An application would either not come up, not work or wouldnt go away. The desk top was almost completely different and when I left it I could not get back to it. Nothing worked right before but now different things dont work. The first repair shop had it for 9 days without accomplishing anything and F.M.G. had it for 14 days and neither of them fixed anything. When I go in the next place, if I see anyone under the age of 13 years old, I am leaving! This is not supposed to be OJT!
Great service. I had a cellphone battery fixed and also a computer. I was told by another company that the computer was unfixable and the data could not be retrieved, but Larry was able to take care of the computer for me. I will be returning here next time I have a problem.
Fix My Gadget replaced my home switch on an LG G5 phone. The phone died on Thanksgiving so I took it in on Black Friday. They told me if it needed parts there would likely be some delay in getting parts but I should have it by the following Wednesday. It was done on Wednesday as promised.
Terrible. My gf went to get her screen fixed and they screwed up the entire phone. The screen was glitchy so they told her to restart her whole phone and delete everything and she did and it was still messed up. We called back and said can we come back so you guys can see it and they said no sorry we already fixed it. Terrible service.
My computer had a cracked screen and we sent it in and they said that it would be around 1/2 a week until I could get it back. It has been 3 weeks and I have still not gotten it back and I have called many times and they said that it was not done yet. Terrible service, it is taking way too long.

2022-03-29I got my screen fixed here at a good deal and it was pretty quick but when I got my phone back my Face ID was no longer working. I called the store to tell them about it and they said it’s something that happens because Face ID is sensitive so it could of been damaged when they were fixing it. The person on the phone said you can get an iPhone 13 if you switch to AT&T which did not help and I was not switching providers. There was no warning this could happen and I did not sign any contract. So now I’ve just paid 160$ for my Face ID to not work and only option is to get a new phone, not worth it.

2022-07-13Took in a playstation 4 that was overheating and shutting down was a bit pricey when you factor in two separate fees ( one for diagnosis and then one for actual repair ) which I thought was a bit much but they were great at explaining what the fees were, very polite, willing to answer any questions until you understood the answer. They were also great at communicating the issues and prices before fixing which gives you the option of whether its worth the fixing or needs to be replaced. They are now working on repair so hopefully all goes well and it works well when we get it back.

2022-06-27I took my grandsons phone here because he could not hear very well on it and it would not charge. The technician cleaned it and said “no charge” which is something I never hear! I will definitely come back if I have any other phone problems.

2022-07-02I came in and Sean helped me in 15 min!! After I spent over 45 minutes on the phone with someone who didnt want to help me at all. Thanks!
