First time going here. Everyone was very helpful and sweet. The Dr was very patient, took his time with the exam, and answered all my questions. His assistant went over a few different treatment plans and helped me pick the beat one for me. In the end it was my decision but she answered my questions as I was deciding. 😃
Im very thankful to Familia Dental in Decatur for the emergency tooth extraction I needed. The staff, nurses & Doctor are extremely fast kind caring professionals. You wont find a better Dentist office in illinois. Thank you Familia your beautiful people &city of Decatur should be very proud & thankful your apart of the community.
Took daughter in for broken permanent retainer and wisdom teeth pain. Assistant was rough with her. Ended up there was no orthodontist as falsely advertised. Asked for a referral to one. Called 3 weeks later to check on it. Nothing. Still waiting almost a month and a half later. Patients have no space or privacy here. And dont bother responding with the please call this number speech like all the other reviews where you say you will fix issue. No one answers that number.
This is my 3rd visit here, everyone is so friendly & understanding. I am a very Nervous dental person but I feel very fortunate to have found Dr. Wong. I went in for a crown prep June 1, I was pretty nervous but Dr. Wong is exceptional!! She done an amazing job. Always gentle, polite, caring, & I enjoy our conversations. Thank you Dr. Wong!! :) See you soon for my permanent crown!
They try to fit you into their schedule when you need immediate care. They have a really good team working at the Decatur office. Thanks for all your work and efforts to make each experience as good as they are!
My kids love going to Familia Dental. All the Doctors and nurses that work in the back are very friendly, interact with my kids take the time to talk to the parents on what is going on with their teeth. I would highly recommend them to any family.
You have to give a star to comment, otherwise they would get a zero in my book, yet my experience needs noted. I have only been only time, and will not go again. Went in to get my teeth checked and have a couple broken ones removed. I have a bad gag reflex, and informed the aids about this with each person I interacted. So they cannot say that they were not aware. . They went to take an x ray of my teeth, which was expected, but when they placed the separator in my mouth, i felt like I was getting chocked, bad. When I expressed my concern and all, the tech brushed it off, sad I was fine then proceeded to try to force me into keeping the separator in my mouth, knowing my issue. They ignored my needs and concerns entirely. I walked out of my appointment and then called my insurance and informed them of the case and not to cover the appointment, as i got nothing done that day. My insurance company is seeking other options in the area, and once one is found, I will take my business and friends if possible, there.
To be honest my first review was a 1. I have massive anxiety going to the dentist and the waiting process it the worst part. I left my first appointment very upset because of this.. I will admit I am not an easy person to work with when I get upset. CRC Brianna Wade immediately helped me and made me a different appointment for a time of day with a less wait time. Knowing I am a nervous wreck at these appointments she personally came back and checked on me during my appointment. There isnt many people these days with good customer service but she was amazing from start to finish. Then later I I back
I had an amazing experience with the crc Brianna Wade. The scheduling process for me was perfect. She made it such a breeze and over all great experience. She made it easier and was very helpful , bubbly , kind , and very responsive ! Thank you Brianna for helping me! This was a woman that loves her job !
I have attended many recent events in the Decatur area and I always enjoy seeing Brianna Wade at those events. She is always so polite and kind and goes above to make sure events have other organizations there that I am familiar with. She is such a great asset to the community.
Had to come back three different times in one week because they didn’t work thoroughly and didn’t feel like filling my cavity when they were scheduled to. Had to drive an hour and back three times, missed a whole ton of school, and the dentist didn’t pay enough attention to notice the cavity the first time. I had to find it myself and come back.
Appointment was at 1pm came and got all checked in by 1250 it is now 1:21. I feel like my time is not worthy. Not very pleased or impressed at all. Covid is a cause, excuse, and explanation for everything but on a Saturday before Easter should be taken in consideration. My family dont want to spend all day here just for a 10 min cleaning.
What a wonderful experience I had!! The people are very warm and welcoming friendly!! I felt so comfortable around all the staff and dentist!! Dr. Wong is great. She was really calming and patient with me. I initially called familia dental about a wisdom tooth extraction. Although they couldnt perform the extraction on me, they referred me to an oral surgeon who will and will take my medical card. My only gripe is that I shouldnt have to travel so far just to see a proper oral surgeon. Im going to have to make a nearly 3 hour trip....one way, just to see one. Wish there were more surgeons locally or a bit closer. Doesnt reflect the service I received at familia dental, though. Dr. Wong spent about 25 minutes deep cleaning my teeth, so this wasnt a wasted appointment. And I will continue to go to her for my cleanings. Have another appt on Nov 14 to see her again. Everyone at familia were respectful and caring. Again, I just wished I didnt have to travel so far for the wisdom tooth. Thank you again, everyone, and thank you Dr. Wong. My teeth look great.
I would just like to say thank you to Brianna Wade, CRC. She helped me find an amazing Dr through Familia in Decatur who helped me get a hood plan set for fixing my teeth. She is very much appreciated! I was so lost on what to do until she reached out to me and helped me! Thank you Brianna!
This is assembly-line dentistry but its perfect because they can get a lot of people in. I was impressed with how quickly I was able to get an appointment as a new patient. The atmosphere is cheerful and everyone is very nice.
The staff was so sweet and caring towards my child who is afraid of the dentist. They made it an easy and calming experience for her. Everyone was great!
We were accommodated well. Prices were affordable. Just a bit disappointed since we booked to have an appointment with Dr. Wong but another dentist came to check my child, but he was still good though.
Dr. Gauba and Melissa were very helpful. I drove from Carbondale to get a cavity looked at and was hoping to get it filled same day. Even though the office was very busy, they made sure they could get me taken care of today. The Dr. even helped lower the cost since I don’t have dental insurance. None of the dentists in Carbondale could even come close to matching the cost (except the SIU dental students, but they’re on summer break). Absolutely worth the drive.
I was disappointed with my cleaning appointment on Tuesday. Waited a hour to be seen for him to only clean my bottom teeth in like 10 minutes max. Never in my 59 years has a dentist only cleaned half my teeth and not floss them. I was very disappointed in the service and notified the insurance carrier. Looking forward to getting my EOB to see how you bill for half cleaning.
I went in just to get some exrays and the Dentist there seen my problem and not only fixed it , but also took the time to deep clean while I was numb. Thank you so much. I would definitely recommend. See you all at my next appointment.
This will be my second time going to familia dental. I have very high anxiety when it comes to any dentist. I felt reasured today when they did my xrays and showed me everything and told me what will happen. Ive had two fillings done in july, other then anxiety it was an amazing time. Took his time and made sure i was okay and comfortable through the whole thing. Im going into today to get two more pulled. Im hoping everything goes smoothly like last time.

I have since taken a position with a new company (still serving the local community) and she has been instrumental in sharing her senior focused events and contacts with me to continue to build and nurture our partnership.

I brought my 10 year old in for an emergency visit due to dental pain. They got him in the back right away and took care of the dental issue. The staff was very kind and patient as my child has anxiety and was very nervous about what was going on.
Had to get both my top wisdom teeth removed and was SUPER nervous, their staff made sure I was super comfortable through the whole process and answered all my questions and concerns. They were so patient and friendly, definitely changed my outlook on the dentist.

I would like to give high recommendations and a big Thank You to Brianna Wade. Being a single mother of four is not easy and I admit making apt for my kids can be...lacking!! Seeing her out in the community helped me schedule apts and get in quickly and all in close times together. She made it so easy to get them back into Familia and I couldnt be more satisfied!!! I always have a great experience when I go to Familia. My daughter is 2 and had her first dental appointment. She does not do well with people at all but the dental assistant Natalie did an amazing job of making her feel comfortable.

Overall experience with the hygienists and dentist was pretty routine and favorable. However, the check in process with the receptionists was suboptimal. In front of the entire lobby they were asking me questions about my PHI without any attempt for confidentiality which I found pretty unprofessional.
I would recommend Familia Dental as my family dentistry. The staff was great and they got me in and out at a reasonable time frame. Scheduling department will work with your busy schedule as well.!!!
My blood pressure was high but I was in pain & had no sleep so it was going to be high. Instead of excusing me after they knew they werent going to take my tooth out. I sat for a hour. While the dentist moved on to another person. They didnt offer an antibiotic or to clean my teeth as we originally planned. Very unprofessional! I was in tears thinking what am I going to do Im in so much pain.
The Community Relations Coordinator Brianna Wade is wonderful, she has the best personality and attitude. She goes out in the community for outreach and is super helpful and volunteers her time with out food pantry and helped with the Christmas Basket Distribution. We LOVE her!!!
My husband had a tooth pulled. He was in and out with no problems. Tori was amazingly helpful and was super bubbly! She made the experience much more pleasant.

My dentist Mr Den Hong Yoon is absolutely the best. He’s sincere and truly cares about his patients. Very kind and try’s to be as gentle as he possibly can giving the numbing shots. The entire time he’s pulling a tooth-teeth he’s asking every few seconds are you okay? Feeling any pain? Letting you know how it’s going and try’s to get them out as quick as possible so you won’t feel the pressure and pulling. He is just absolutely AMAZING!!! Best I’ve ever had!!! Highly recommend!!! Always ask if I have any questions. Explains in very good detail what needs done the process the next steps. He doesn’t miss a thing. I never have to ask anything he thinks of absolutely everything. He’s the entire package and then some. His assistant I’m so sorry I can’t remember her name and there’s several there lovely lady. On top of everything. Had my gauze instructions next appointment card in a ziplock and ready to go when I was done. No waiting around. Very kind and caring lady.
All my kids go there and they always have a great experience!.There is one employee that stands out every time and I believe her name is Natalie Lourash.She goes above and beyond every time we’re in there,she makes sure my kids are comfortable and safe.She’s professional and also laid back,i can always tell that she takes her job serious and the importance of the patient.Update:I’ve found out she’s married now and her name is Natalie Jones!Highly recommend 5 stars

In the past I had horrible experiences with Familia, however, I had an awesome experience this time. They were able to get me in the next day. The assistant that did my x-rays was very friendly and the dentist was amazing. He took time to explain what he was doing and did a thorough job extracting my old metal fillings and filling the new ones with white. I felt like he cared about me as a person. I am happy that I was seen by hi, I really hope he stays there!
I took all 3 of the kids recently and had such a great experience. I didnt think my 5 year old would do well but everyone was so patient with him! Dr Gauba took his time & did such an awesome job :)
The setting was very nontraditional and at times it felt a bit rushed, but the level of care was very good. There was a lot of background sound, so at times I had trouble hearing or understanding. Still, I appreciate the experience.
I was impressed when dentist went over with me every thing he found and his plan on his repairs. Not all dentist take the time.

Absolutely horrible! I had an appointment for 2 months ahead for my orthodontist appointment and there is no orthodontist at this location anymore! A phone call would be nice. Not to mention the bad service has been consistent for over 8 years. You guys do have that going for you! :)
I have had some questions regarding orthodontic care for my daughter and the CRC Brianna had got back in touch with me in regards to this… she also has helped us get appointments and provided information for us regarding dental care I just want to give her a shout out and let Familia and the community know she is the perfect go to person!

Sometimes finding a dentist that youre comfortable with can be difficult but these people really work with you and make you feel comfortable and they make sure you are completely comfortable I would recommend them to anybody
Would have given 5 stars but I think most places have room for improvement and honest feedback from clients is important. My only complaint is the dentist could have taken a little more time making sure all my questions or concerns were addressed.
I was in a lot of pain they pulled the tooth the same day they saw me and were very informal on how I should handle aftercare I would highly recommend them and I will return again if I need to

I was skeptical when I walked in. Nobody likes going to the dentist, and it seemed a little sketchy. But everyone in the office is very nice and welcoming, informative about what they are doing and what needs to be done, and my appointments went very quickly. I had a tooth extracted and the dentist was fast, and he informed me of everything he was doing. I have scheduled another appointment for a small filling. If it was as i initially thought, I wouldn’t go back. I am one day post extraction and there is no pain. At all. I keep forgetting the tooth is gone!
I hate this place I have had my braces on for EVER!!!! THEY CANT KEEP AN ORTHODONTIST FOR SNAPS and i make all my appointments!!!!!!when I come in I sit for hours they schedule you for 3 and ur seen at 415 its ridiculous I had to go to Springfield to get my braces adjusted then when I come back to Decatur because now they have some one they canceled my appointment with out calling me!!! If you can avoid going here please do one good thing I had a dental assistant Scott 💕🏆💕 2yrs ago who was amazing! Over and beyond he held my hand while I was being treated and he passion for his job and me as a client was just breath taken!! I usually go to orthopedic for my braces but this day I needed general care and Im so happy he was there to help because my husband ❤ was busy and I had to come alone
The staff and the Dentist at the Decatur Illinois office went out of there way to help me.The Dentist took all the time i neede to get me comfortable enough to do an extraction!!! I was apprehensive about having a girl dentist.She was awesome!!!THANKS!!!
I had a pretty good experience there had to wait all about 30 minutes before they called me back to the back and I had to wait another 15-20 minutes before the doctor could see me.
They were able to get me in last minute. All staff members in front and back are friendly. They also made sure I stayed comfortable throughout my appointment.

Much better and more professional since the last time I went there. They just needed better dentists who could speak English. 4 weeks later-I guess I spoke too soon; I can understand busy but I had a pretty serious procedure done. After 2 days it was infected and swollen and I was in severe pain. Tried calling Familia for 2 days. Ended up in the ER with my blood pressure at stroke levels. Im not blaming the dentist that my tooth got infected, but I made the people on the phone (a different person each time I called) I made them aware of the problems I was having and STILL have not received a call back! Grateful that.DMH took care of me with antibiotics and pain meds. That is all I wanted if I just could have got through! Tooth pain is the worst kind of pain that exists and infections can lead to serious medical issues or even death. I have been and am going to continue to warn people about this place.
Familia Dental, is very good with the people that come there. Ive never had to wait very long to be called to the back. I truly appreciate there professional way they handle every thing there also very kind and respectful workers.

I love Dr Gabba, he is amazing. I probably spelled his name wrong. He is very gentle, concerned, and very informative. I dont necessarily like going to the dentist; however he makes it quite painless.
The customer service is awful! Myself, my sons and my husband have all three showed up for confirmed appointments when come to find out the appointment was canceled for some reason without notifying us. We showed up for the appointment after drinking from home 30 minutes away.
I took all 4 of my kids there. The staff was amazing with their teamwork. My kids liked their experience with them.

My last return visit to Familia dental was a much more positive experience. Granted its crowded in the waiting room and in the exam rooms however they work as a cohesive team getting the job done and paying attention to patient care and comfort as well. I have reassessed my previous rating which was poor and have given them a much more measured and favorable review now.The dentist Dr. Gauba in particular is a pro of the highest order. Ive had to visit him 4 times now for procedures. Each time he focuses on me and my comfort level as if Im his only patient. His attention to detail and professionalism are second to none. The needles and injections in general can be unpleasant, but Dr. Gauba makes certain you are completely numb and oblivious to any potential discomfort during and after the procedure.HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Dr. Moore at the Decatur location is the worst dentist I have ever had. She filled four cavities and two of them turned into needing root canals within a couple weeks afterwards because she didnt get all cavity out in the first place. The other two she filled are so sensitive to hot and cold that I can hardly eat or drink anything. Its sad because the other staff are wonderful. Very pleasant, but this sub par dentist ruins it all.

Very hit or miss whether youll get good service/tech or not. Sometimes very speedy and attentive other visits seem like nothing is getting done. Spent 45 minutes in the exam chair waiting for a simple cleaning last visit. Not sure how accurate records are as I was asked multiple times if I hadnt been to the dentist in awhile yet I had been seen at their clinic 6months prior. Was also asked if I was here for extraction a few times when I was only there for a cleaning. Last time they sent me out the door after the cleaning with no polish because it was the end of the day and they wanted to leave. Mostly good dentists though.
I went in today for general check up and cleaning. I expressed my concerns about my teeth and Dr. Wong took her time and listened. I received no judgment about how my teeth looked. I had some build up around my lower teeth and she asked if I would like to be numbed. She numbed me well and made sure I was okay through the whole thing! My favorite dentist I have been to thus far! Will definitely recommend her to family and friends!
If I could give this place a 0/5 stars I would. There’s been countless times I’ve had an appointment and I’ve sat in the waiting room for over an hour waiting to go back. Today I went in (after driving 3 hours to get here) to get my braces off and I’m told they’re not taking them off because they don’t have my retainers! My retainers were ordered over a month ago. They told me it should take 2 weeks tops! They could not even give me a courtesy call to let me know that they did not receive them and that I should not drive a total of 6 hours today!
This was my first visit with The Familia Dental Clinic and not only were they very professional and courteous, they went the extra mile for me and ended up staying late to pull my teeth.I am only a middle class hard working man but the staff and surgical personnel treated me like royalty .I would highly recommend anyone who is in need of dental repair to call and set up an appt with them.
They canceled my sons appointment three times for braces and gave it to somebody else. They made us wait almost a year to get an orthodontist - I would’ve had to wait longer if I had not called to see if they had one.. then I went ahead and scheduled for his appointment to get braces and they canceled that one the same day! all three appointments were always canceled the same day of the appointment. We found a new dentist! one appointment for consolation! the next appointment he got braces! easy Peezy.
I would like to give a big shout out to Brianna Wade for her work helping the clients of our food pantry get appointments for their dental care and also spreading the word about our food pantry(New Vision Market).
Just overall not a fan of how they run this place. Appointments take way too long. The setup is just weird and uncomfortable. I basically made the appointment for my sons for absolutely nothing. After and hour and half to get through the appointment, I was then told I would have to go somewhere else for their needs. I’m sure that could have been suggested to me within the first 10 minutes of the appointment. There are like 50 dental assistants to the one dentist. So everyone else in the whole place is just walking around, on their phone, or walking in and out the back door (that was a foot away from where the dentist chair my kids were in was) with cigarettes. Just highly do not recommend.

I was surprised as to how many people was in there. Every chair was filled, people was standing along the wall. There should be a policy if you are not being treated, stay out. All the extra people, is to much. They need a housekeeper to keep everything sanitized. I was the last patient; Staff didnt wipe anything down til the place was closed. The Dentist was GREAT. His Team was Great!
This office is a very good place to get dental work! I have personally been here twice and am always impressed. Doctor Wong and her awesome team of nurses are very understanding, compassionate, and caring about there job. I would definitely suggest anyone in need of dental work to give these professionals the opportunity. The front desk women are great also. Always being kind and polite. I have had nothing but great interaction with Familia and it’s employees. I have a primary dentist, but his practice doesn’t make dentures and Familia does and they are in my network. Four stars because I have one more appointment with them and because the locations of their facilities are all at least 90 miles away.

The Dentist and his assistants were pleasant and very informative .Im the type of person who cant stand going to a dentist.This dentist was very smooth , as my tooth was being pulled , I felt no discomfort.
This visit was the worst yet by far. 🥴Waited patiently for over an hour with my two kids ,ages 4 and 8 in the waiting room, for a scheduled appt which I made online because my son missed his last appt for fillings due to being in quarantine from a school exposure to covid 19.The office already had all of our information , we registered online as instructed via text and have also been there previously . As stated before , my son missed his last appt for a filling , and the dentist still thought it was okay to have a hygienist or tech spend 5 minutes cleaning his teeth , which is great but not what we came for and then barely looked at his x-rays and asked me if I remembered what he told me last time, and I said yes he needs a filling that why were here, he says no, this appt was just scheduled as a check up, but he does need fillings and to schedule another appt. to get them done.-NO! That is what I scheduled the appt FOR and the care that they KNEW he needed should have been provided, they already put it off at his last appt and didnt take care of the issue after diagnosing it and I let it go then, but trying to put it off again is a huge red-flag to me that you will no longer be providing our dental care.At this point the dentist had no answer at all other than we just cant do that today, it wasnt scheduled like that, became flustered , and brought back his manager asking us to just schedule another appt and she again mentioned they hadnt had lunch.it has been months now since they put the first one off, and couldnt get him in until now.The cavities have since multiplied (there are now 3) and they want to put it off YET AGAIN because they havent been to lunch in the dentists own words!It is not mine or my sons fault that Familia Dental offices in Decatur IL are clearly over working the patient load and schedule of these dentists as a whole . I scheduled an appt for follow up pediatric dental care , we did not walk in and we do have insurance , and although it is state insurance , it is insurance none the less, and as a nurse , I personally I consider it to be medicaid fraud when a practice is taking patients and charging state insurance but not providing the real warranted acute, routine and preventative dental care that is medically necessary at the time .I think the better business bureau will tend to agree with me. It was a difficult decision to do this as we have limited options currently but it was clear to see they were far more concerned with their own time conservation than they were with repairing or preserving my childs teeth, even after we waited patiently for them as well.This was not my first bad experience at familia , they also once tried to get me to sign a consent forms for extractions when only performing a routine dental exam and cleaning on my 5 yr old son. We did not wish to give legal medical consent for any extractions, so politely explained that and I requested another form.the tech then argued with me about it to the point I had to be rude and literally refuse to sign it and request the manager get a new form.. this was not the first bad experience there, but it was definitely the LAST!- We will absolutely NOT be back!
The staff were very nice and polite. The Dentist I saw is awesome. She is super sweet, and very gentle. I highly recommend them.

Dr.song is A very attentive and kind however the whole place feels and looks like a cattle ranch or a Nike shoe factory sweatshop with the main goal of as many patients as quickly as possible.- extremely over booked and ALWAYS 45 minutes to an hour after your appointment time before Iam seen. if I had better insurance I would go somewhere else where things are not so rushed and disorganized. The whole place just feels like a money grab.

I set my appointment up with Bri Wade she was very awesome and quick set it up for all 3 of my kids including myself with in minutes the ladies in the back where great with my babies the interaction and patient was great our appointment was at 10 we were gone but 11:15
I had my insurance company find this dentist because I had a pain in a tooth. Went there, everyone was nice all went well. They said they would contact me for next appointment to fix my tooth set me up a cleaning 6 months down the road. So when I left I said to her: you will contact me when. She said with in a week so we can get this tooth fixed. That was 4 months ago. No phone call nothing. When I call in Im told I will get a call back, but never do.
Dentist did great and made me feel comfortable. Very friendly staff helped calm my nerves would highly recommend.

When I first got there I was a little skeptical. I did not like the set up of the place because everything was out in the open. All patients can hear what is going on with someone else. Made me a bit uncomfortable. That’s why I took off a star. My Dentist made it so much more better though! I absolutely loved her! She was amazing and very patient. Everything she did she explained and always asked if I was doing okay. I’ve had problems with my wisdom tooth for years now. I’ve been to another dentist before Familia that refused to take it out because they said I needed an oral surgeon all the way in Chicago to take it out. Familia took it out with no problems in literally a minute. So thankful for them!

I went in for a cleaning.....however they only cleaned my bottom teeth! Never once attempted to clean my top teeth. HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED

Staff is friendly professional & knowledgeable. I like my dentist & have a good relationship with her. They provided a new toothbrush when the one they gave me wore out after 3 months & didnt make me wait until mynext appointment.
My first experience in this office was not great (over an hour and a half wait time). I was a new patient that needed an exam, fmx and cleaning. They took X-rays and polished my teeth. My visit with the dentist felt rushed. I mentioned to the dentist that I needed a new mouth guard and he just kinda blew it off. I felt that I shouldnt return but I gave them the benefit of doubt. Fast forward to today, still over an hour wait for 6 month bitewings and a cleaning. X-rays were taken but no polishing. I mentioned to the assistant this time that I needed a new night guard and do they provide that service here. She mentioned that she didnt know but she didnt find out either. After waiting for awhile I asked were my teeth going to be polished? I was told that patients over a certain age see the dentist first then, polishing is done afterwards. Didnt happen last visit but, ok. What I didnt mentioned to anyone is that I worked for an Oral Surgeon for over 14 years, I know how a proficient dental office should run. This office is poorly scheduled and sees quite a few emergencies. I understand that is a day in the life of a dental assistant but you do not make your scheduled patients wait for emergencies or an unexpected crown prep! My cleaning was mediocre and when I mentioned my teeth hadnt been polished yet, I was told, oh ok, did I want the polishing in a questionable tone, I replied no...I cancelled my 6 month appointment, made an appointment with another dentist for my next 6 months visit and got a copy of my recent X-rays. I WOULD NOT recommend Familia Dental for anyone with high expectations of having quality, timely care.
I had concerns about total extraction of my teeth, However, Dr. Ma was amazing at keeping me calm and talking to me throughout the procedure.She was excellent talking me through the procedure about what was happening and coming up. Later, as I began to get impressions made for dentures she was nothing more than extremely informative and performed an excellent job! My dentures fit so well, it was amazing! I highly recommend Familia Dental, especially if all locations have such skilled and caring professionals!
Dr. Yoon is the best!! I love his methods of Denistry!!! I feel so comfortable when he works on my teeth its amazing as I have had dental anxiety for years! I could go on and on!! Thank you for being at Familia to care for our teeth!!!
Poorly managed, unprofessional staff, very bad scheduling. My kid had an appointment on a day with the orthodontist who was on maternity leave. Waited two months for the appointment. we walk in and the orthodontist wasnt there. Had to reschedule for another month for the next opening.
They do good work. Ive had several extractions and fillings done there and never felt a bit of pain during or afterwards.
All staff here is rude first of all, secondly why schedule a 9am appointment if your staff is just getting in? Its called professionalism and this place lacks all of that
Dentist would not listen to me about using the smallest tray, and not to use so much putty for, I have a very small mouth. Finally, I convinced her to do it my way on the uppers. Which work perfect. After continuous grinding on the bottom plate, I asked her if she would redo the bottoms w/a smaller tray. Her reply was; Lets just work with these. I could not eat w/the bottoms, and do not wear them to this day. *Got to my appointment early. Waited till all others went in before me. Ppl coming in were served before me. Intake person finally called my name. She asked why I was there. I told her Familia set the appointment and sent me a text. So. I sat back down for awhile. Then she calls me up again. Told me I had no dental insurance. I told her I did. So after arguing with me, I called my insurance carrier, standing in front of her, I asked Do I have dental insurance. Agent replied YES, intake worker just looked at me. Didnt say a word to me. I turned around, left, and have never went back.
Drove over an hour for my appointment just to get there and they told me I canceled it and I never did. One lady said this isn’t the first time today that’s happened. This is my second time coming here and will not be returning. The first time they made my kids feel so uncomfortable so I got them a new dentist while I tried to give them a second chance. Well, they failed at that. I would give this place no stars or the time and money.

I see Dr. Song here I have to give him high praise because he actually listens to his patients and instead of just pulling he tries to save peoples teeth and is quick and awesome at his job
My wife went there for a teeth cleaning. It barely took 5 minutes to do it. I have never experienced a teeth cleaning that didnt last a half hour or more. I am bewildered as to call that a teeth cleaning. I would recommend that this doctor wong retake classes on how to clean teeth. .my wife and I are serious about our Dental Health
Everything went nice and smoothly for me. I know people who didn’t have such a great experience but there was a different dentist there at the time. I saw dr Wong and she was super nice and kept asking if I was doing okay while she finished up cleaning my teeth. Growing up I always hated going to my dentist because they were so rude, but now I actually won’t mind going.
They provide excellent service on routine checkups as well as more complicated procedures like crowns. Great service at reasonable rates!

I came in as a walk-in.Was lucky to get a spot,and was back getting my X-ray and consult within 25 minutes.Staff was very friendly,and talked me through everything.Dr. Wong was awesome!Even with my tooth breaking in half during extraction(due to IT being bad,not due to Dr. Wong!)i was done in about 30 minutes.Not one bit of pain the next day..she did a great job! So thank you Dr. Wong and staff! I recommend Familia Dental 100%.

I called every dentist in my area which is about an hour and a half away from this place. No one was accepting new patients and his original dentist office didn’t do the procedure he needed done. So I called my insurance they gave me a list of places near by this one was the only one available. I called I explained to them the situation and specifically told them that the work my child needed he have to be put under. They proceeded the process told me okay we have openings tomorrow 3/23 so I took it because my child was lying in my lap in tears. She also told me at this appointment they will do an X-ray and fix what was wrong. I get off work come home get my child up and jump on the highway to make our appt we get there (waited at least 45-60 mins) I’m in total disbelief on how unprofessional and nasty this place is. They had patients in the lobby, chairs not even 6 feet apart. No one is disinfecting the chairs once the Pts get up and go to the back room and the Doctors and dentist tech had on the same gown from lobby to patient, patient to patient.On top of that once they did my child X-ray we waited another 30 mins after already waiting an hour for the doctor to come in whom couldn’t even read the X-ray to tell me that they can’t do the work he need because they don’t have the stuff to put children under and they didn’t do it there.I also read the reviews and I had to go see for myself and every complaint on these reviews are very true I don’t see how this place is still open. I wouldn’t be surprised if they were giving ppl discounts to give them a good review.
Every time I come here I end up waiting around 2 hours. I’ve had to reschedule several times because my wait time ended up being so long it cut into other appointments or things I needed to do. Or got so close to the time I needed to go to work.
I had to have an emergency extraction on a broken tooth. I called and got an appointment within 24 hours, the staff was friendly and professional. They were so helpful in helping me stay calm as I was SUPER nervous and one of the dental hygienist even held my hand during the procedure. The doctor was friendly, informative, and kind. I would definitely recommend this office. Thank you all again for taking such great care of me!
My 3 year son and I had back to back appointments today, and it was a great experience! We had dr. Moore and she was amazing, she was funny, really nice, and gentle. The whole staff made the new experience for my son a good one and hes not scared of the dentist. We will be going back for sure!
Grandsons appt was at 330. I arrived at 320. The office was busy and possibly overbooked. After checking in I sat and waited to be called back. I sat for 40 minutes and became aware that individuals were being called back that came in after I did. Some came in and were called back in only 5-10 minutes of waiting. After inquiring if I failed to hear our name and was told that they were cleaning the room. Five more minutes passed and we were still sitting. We left at 4:15. Thanks for nothing!
It had been at least 7 years since i had last seen a dentist. If not 10 years. And while back then things were fine not seeing one for so long my near perfect no cavity having teeth finally had some. I went in to see how things were doing and get a cleaning done. After i found out about my cavities i now have a schedule to get some fillings and after that a couple of extractions. But everyone there were nice they heard my story of when my teeth started to break and understood. Because its not uncommon for dentists to tell their patients to brush their teeth but to also watch what they eat when doing it because the natural acids and sugars in some foods that are meant to be good for your body may also not be good for your teeth.
Everyone I have come into contact with at Familia have been kind and caring. From the front desk staff to the technicians and dentists are always professional and care about their patients.I didnt have insurance for many years, so I hadnt been to a dentist for almost 39 years. They didnt treat me any differently than if I had been coming in regularly.
They scheduled my boys six month appt for a day they were closed, so I drove 40mins only to find the door locked and the staff in training. I was very upset and was told “sorry, they shouldn’t have schedule you for today.” They also said they called to reschedule us, but they didn’t. I even received the reminder text that morning regarding the appts. I’d give them 0 stars if it was an option and I’ll be finding a new office for my boys.Last appt we had we waited over an hour after appt time to see the doctor. The staff was nice and the dr did good with my toddlers but I was afraid we were going to end up taking roaches home because the building had the dirty vibe. I’d say if you like the Decatur dmv then you’ll love this place.

The dentist that I saw would not listen to me when I told them that my jaw wasnt numb. I had an abscessed tooth and I had been on antibiotics but there was still a pocket of infection under the tooth they were trying to pull so the numbing meds werent working but she tried to pull my tooth anyway and broke it. I was in so much pain that I was in tears and she didnt want to stop. I will never go back there. Also they filled teeth that werent even the reason I was there and all but 2 of the fillings fell out within days, I was in severe pain and had what looked like a pool of blood under my tongue for almost 2 weeks. I had a tongue piercing that I had for over 17 years that I have since had to remove because since that visit every time I tried to eat anything my tongue felt like it was ripping in half.
Had a great experience. The dentist was great easy pain free extraction. Listened to them work great with children too. Waiting room has a play area. I would highly recommend. They did a great job dealing with my anxiety not many dentists can keep me there long enough to get work done. Ty I appreciate the care provided.

The facility is very clean, looks like either a new building or remodel. Every employee I interacted with at this clinic was friendly and courteous, they were fast and efficient with getting me signed in and ready for my appointments. My latest appointment was for dental work that included several fillings and two teeth removed. I told the dentist, Dr. Kim, and the dental hygienist that it was my first time getting teeth pulled, so they were very pleasant and helped to keep me calm. The whole process was finished in 45 minutes, I was surprised at how fast it was all done!
Bri wade always gets my kids and I right in, I also love what they do for the community.
9/2021: Dr Gaba is a jewel + best dentist I ever had but 1 assistant never covered her nose with her mask. Due to the highly contagous Delta variant, this is very dangerous! We patients cant wear masks during treatment, so we are exposed. Even with vaccines, we elderly + immune compromised could get sick & possibly die. Could you pass this on please? Thank you for your wonderful & kind service. Remember indoor masks are mandated again in Illinois due to Delta.
Hey I called familia dental services to make an appointment to my surprise they got me in the same day and then I filled out some paper work even though I was 9 mins.late the front desk was very friendly and they took me right in, taking some x-rays was a snap yep as easy as 123 then they took me back to a very comfortable seat one you could doze off in then the assistant ask a few questions all the while making me feel very comfortable, then the dentist showed up and explained everything in a way that any person could understand what was needed to be done and how it was going to be done In a down to earth way. Now despite the fact I was late the dentist still not only did what was expected but went on to go the extra mile in a friendly way explaining everything to a tee. My teeth that needed work were bad and a couple were even broke off the dentist kept me informed thru the whole process making sure that I was comfortable as well as the assistant,I was treated with the up most care by all who were there I recommend Famillia Sandal to anyone wanting quality service from a business that truly cares for their patients.

That Korean dentist lady is aggressive, mean and does too much. They dont care if u are in pain. They will still pull your teeth and do so VERY aggressively if u ask them to stop. Something needs to change in this office before they get shut down! Very horrible experience not just for me but for several of my friends as well.
I would not recommend this company to anyone. I went in for tooth pain and inflamed gums. They proceeded to take an x-ray of the area and had just taken an x-ray not even 3 months ago. They did not find anything different this time. I also needed my teeth cleaned and it was the roughest, most inadequate cleaning that I have ever experienced; and this was done by the doctor. They were closing up for the day and he took at the max maybe 5-10 minutes cleaning my teeth. I was writhing in pain from how harsh the cleaning was. The dental assistant was supposed to be suctioning the water as he cleaned but instead she sat there impatiently waiting on the doctor to finish and was so inefficient at removing the water, that my entire sweater was soaked and I was unable to see out of my glasses. It made me feel that all they wanted to do was to say that they provided a certain service so that my insurance would pay for it. It was as if my clear display of discomfort was being ignored so that they could rush through the service before leaving. News Flash Familia Dental if you dont have the time, care and patience to start a service, dont. Your customers dont deserve to be treated like a cash cow.
Was in and out very quick. Pulled my tooth and it went great. Very polite and kind staff. I will be back for anything else I need. Dr. Wong was great at her job. The receptionists were very helpful and even gave me advice on how to get a medical card so I could have it covered by insurance the next time I might need a tooth pulled.I was expecting to have my tooth pulled to be an extremely painful process...but it wasnt at all..It was completely pain free.
I am impressed with the Dentists and staff at Familia Dental. This is a wonderful and economical Dentist office for my family. I looked at all options fo orthodontic work for my daughter. This was such a great choice! They make dental work affordable and great quality. Highly recommend
Start by years of visiting and still can’t say my granddaughters name... no apology just rude! Lost her cleaning appointment but saw her anyway to bump up an adjustment appointment then make a big deal how the $160 fee then would also be due over 2 weeks early. I guess they didn’t plan on dealing with a sick grandma who is totally fed up with rude treatment of people in any and all customer service fields! People need to have the right attitudes for jobs. Doctors, nurses, food services... I don’t care. I am done with rude and ignorant!!
Worst orthodontic practice on God’s earth. They are EXTREMELY rude, they are neglectful in care, and do not put patient care first. This place shouldn’t even be allowed to be open. I would leave zero stars if possible. To save from headache, take your family ANYWHERE else.
Dr. Ma was horrible when I took my teenage daughter in to have her tooth pulled. She did NOT follow protocol and did not numb my child correctly before extracting the tooth. There was also vulgar language multiple times during songs she was playing on her phone while working. I called the manager of the Decatur location and was told I would get a call back and it has been 5 days with no word from the office. Horrible office manners. Horrible dentist. Horrible management. I did take all of my children there and we will not be going back.
It was absolutely the most horrendous experience Ive EVER BEEN THROUGH!!! They used close to 50 shots of Novicain which didnt numb me because they didnt give me a round of antibiotics before they pulled my 19 teeth and my mouth was full of infection. I felt EVERY TOOTH BEING PULLED!!! The dentist who helped me afterwords from another office said it looked like like someone took a chainsaw to my gums. It took at least 30 days of double anibiotics and antibiotic mouthwash to clear it. Of course when I spoke to someone is customer support she said my file said I ONLY received 6 shots of Novicain... YEAH RIGHT!!!!
This is seriously the WORST dental place Ive ever been!!! My daughter and I have been waiting over 30 minutes seeing people go back that came after us. I go up to the front desk and the receptionist crossed my daughters name out and had no idea how that happened. Then they tried to not give my daughter her consult because she needed a teeth cleaning, she had her teeth cleaned here 2 months ago!!! This place is a joke! No one knows what they are doing. Definitely will NEVER come to this screwed up place. Its a ghetto mess!!!
If I could give negative stars I would. This place is absolutely offal. I was there for almost 2 hours and the dentist waited until I was in even more pain from them doing 8 xrays and a full head scan to tell me she did not feel comfortable doing any work to my teeth. Also refused to give an medications because she did not do any work . I drove 45 minutes to this location and I am absolutely appalled at the location.complete lack of cleanliness in any manor. No privacy anywhere in the building. I could hear them talking about several of the other patients as well as myself. They kept referring to a patient as the pregnant lady which is a hippa violation if I am not mistaken. Not once did i see them wipe anything down to disinfect the utensiles that was on the counter when I sit down that was already there when I was placed in the chair. Cross contamination is a scare but it seems like they are not worried by it. I watched them only place tape over the mouth piece they wanted me to use. I literally walked out the dentist is clearly not experienced and it is shamful how they run this location. Not to mention the two other patients I heard screaming and they just continued what they was doing .not stopping instead saying almost finished. Will not return for any reason to the Decatur location.

Got in next day during this covid-19 pandemic. Was in and out within an hour, got x-rays & two teeth pulled that where causing extreme pain. They where all nice and made sure I was comfortable before they did any teeth extraction. I usually go to the Champaign office but they couldnt get me in as soon. Id definitely return as I drove 2hrs to get there. Both familia dentals are awesome!
We had such a great experience with familia dental. My family was referred by Amanda Blair and my children saw Dr. Wong. She was very patient with the kids and made the experience easy going for my very nervous 6 year old and 3 year old. We were able to figure out a treatment plan that would work for us financially and time wise. Overall it was a great experience!
Waiting nearly a year for daughters crown. They submitted it to wrong insurance. Waited 2 months to submit to correct insurance. Didnt let us know it was approved. We found out 2 months after it expired, when we got tired, yet again, of waiting on it. Made appointment for September 20, 2017 right in front of us. Show up that day, they know nothing about us! Wouldnt come here if I had any other option at all. Just front desk problems. Dentists and hygienists are great.
I bring my daughter and soon my son here. The entire staff is wonderful with them. My daughter being 4 is usually very scared of dentists. The dentist there are very patient with her and make our visit there stress free!

Amanda Hurt has been the best coordinator at the Decatur, Il location thus far. She has been most helpful with getting my son’s insurance straighten out. Not sure if the issue would of been resolved without her.
It was the smoothest and by far the most pleasant Dentist visit Ive had. Had to get a few fillings and a tooth extraction and it took maybe 20 minutes all together and she did a very good job with everything.
Worst dentist. Gave me a root canal, but I didn’t have pain until they day the “fixed it” and they almost let a piece of my tooth shaving go down my throat. I broke a bracket, before the covid and because of that they werent seeing people, and I get that but when they open back up. They put my bracket on, two hours later it came off, then when I asked them to fix it. They said they couldnt cause THEY took my wire out and even tho they didn’t do it right the first time. Now it would be cosmetic. But still wanted half of their money.. i give up on them.
I had a wonderful experience with the staff and Doctors. They were all real friendly and helpful. I will go back and refer my family and friends. Some of them already see the Doctors. I special thanks to Amanda for helping me get over me fear of the dentist office.

Dr. Moore is absolutely fantastic! She has been great with my son, my fiancee, and myself!! I highly recommend her to anyone that needs dental work done on a budget!!
This place is a scam! They get you in the door by accepting most insurances but after a examination they tell you your insurance wont cover it and try to make you sign papers saying you will pay 3,500 if your insurance doesnt cover you, but then they say dont worry about what the paper says because that isnt how it is. The place is dirty and staff is ghetto. They have 8 exam tables less than 4 feet from eachother. After not singing the paperwork they told me that they would not submit it. A week later I get calls and texts trying to confirm my next appointment. They charge for missed appointments to your insurance company and keep making appointments without any consent. Stay clear from this place and contact your insurance company and make sure you are not being charged for appointments and other things that you did not content to. Scam!
Amanda Hurt has been the best coordinator I’ve use at familia. She always fits me into the schedule and is great about finding a spot around my work and school schedule. If I have any issue I can get ahold of Amanda and it will be resolved. Even if you leave a voicemail she is always very prompt about calling back, you’ve never stuck waiting to hear back from her.

My best friend went here for her teeth. They were what she thought the best option for her. How wrong she was!!! Not only was there no plan for anything they were doing for her teeth, they were very unresponsive to her pain during a filing. Instead of getting cavities filled, they put temporary pads on her teeth and said that shell get the rest after she comes back and pays in full. Even though she asked how much it was in full and was willing to pay. DO NOT GO HERE
Dentist said he couldn’t pull my tooth because he “hurt his hand” on a prior patient. They sent me home with an infection and said come back and gave me an appointment for A MONTH later! Horrible!!!
Absolutely the worst experience in my girlfriends life associated with dentists. They are absolutely have under-qualified people working there. They take advantage of the system for people on Medicaid and they truly dont care about their patients.There should be some type of law or someone that we can contact in regards to the way they operate and do business totally unacceptable. We are definitely researching to find a lawyer to try to do something about this. Absolutely unacceptable.

2022-02-13My experience here was fantastic. Been awhile since my last visit to the dentist. Was very anxious about the process. However, from the front desk, to being seen, was very reassuring. Every detail was explained. And every question I had was addressed. And I had a bunch lol..Very caring and professional. Actually looking forward to returning for the fitting, extraction, and new dentures.

2022-01-25I went for a cracked tooth and infection issue, my insurance didn’t cover a root canal so Dr Song; suggested we pull my bad teeth and he was able to do the procedure that same day! he was great! explained everything and also kept asking if i was comfortable, i will definitely come back to this dentist office! all the staff if very kind and helpful.

2022-06-05GREAT AT ACCESS. HORRIBLE CARE.It’s hard for me to give this high of rating. The clinic did give me a next day appointment as a first time patient. That was what made it amazing. Then, I got X-rays so far so good. I hadn’t been to a dentist in 19 years. I had been dealing with pain for the last 3 months off and on. The last 2-3 weeks daily. They extracted the most problematic tooth and “cleaned” my teeth. I may be mistaken, however every time I had my teeth cleaned before they did the the electric drill thing, scraped them.and then polished them. They did the drill thing and sent me away. No prescription for the extraction. No appointment for finishing the cleaning. I called and said I was in pain and I had taken ibuprofen already. It was the first time I had any major dental work. I haven’t ever even broken a bone. I asked for something for pain. They sent a prescription for ibuprofen. 😡

2022-07-08This dental office is phenomenal. They have the best district manager and the kindest, most friendly, organized, and professional office staff you could ask for (especially Brittany). The dentists and orthodontists are superb. They are all wonderful with children. I have been taking my family here for years and am very grateful to have found them.

2022-05-04My 7 year old son went in for a cleaning & exam ..he had cavities thats were causing molars to break & decay. They did a filling & an extraction in the same appointment to give him relief. They did AWESOME with him, reassuring him that everything was alright. It was fine in a timely manner & very professional. So glad we chose to go with Familia.

2022-03-22It was my first time ever going to Familia dental and Id say all around it was a great experience. The ladies at the front desk were extremely friendly. The dental assistants were also very friendly and made me feel very comfortable. The dentist (I cant remember his name) was very kind, he took the time to sit and speak with me and explain things in a way I could comprehend. He also called over the other dentist to get his input on my situation which made me feel safe (for lack of a better way to describe it) it showed me that they care that their patients are well informed and can leave feeling like they actually have a resolution to a problem. Im definitely going to be going back for a new denture, which they already put in the prior authorization to my insurance while I was still there. Very pleased with my experiences as Ive had so many terrible ones in the past with almost every dentist Ive been to.

2022-07-14I had a cracked tooth and needed an extraction. I had also not been to a dentist in more than 10 years and my insurance had lapsed so I was paying out of pocket. I called and was able to get an appointment the same day. The waiting room was very busy, but the staff was very nice. Patients were seen in a timely manner. I paid $19 for them to look at my problem tooth and that included an xray of the area. The thing that goes in your mouth for your xray was uncomfortable and dug into the bottom of my mouth under my tongue. That was the only real issue I had. The dentist and the assistants were nice and knowledgeable. Unfortunately, I couldnt afford the extraction cost out of pocket that day. So they provided me with a copy of the cost and told me to call when I can schedule my next appointment. At this point, Im happy to go back and get that work done when I can afford it. All in all a pleasant experience!

2022-06-10From the front desk to the assistants and dentist himself, everyone was so friendly and so helpful. They were so great with my two year old. She was completely at ease once they talked to her and they even kept an eye on her while I got my own teeth cleaned. Pleasantly surprised with the level of care and patience all around. Wish I had gotten everyone’s names so I could mention them specifically.

2022-05-03The staff and doctors are very professional and to see them all getting along really warms my heart. I came in with the worst toothache I have ever had, and they simply said we will see you right away. I was made comfortable and they told me everything that was going to happen. I especially like Doctor Carson he pulled my sore tooth with much care and quickness. Props to you!!! Minimal pain afterwards!!! I recommend anyone here for raises or promotions!!! Great staff!!! I give 20 stars if I could!!!!

2022-06-16Id give negative stars if it was possible. Absolute joke of a facility. My son broke his front tooth 2 years ago, they capped it terribly and it fell off. By the time we were able to bring him in for another ( their delay not ours) it was starting to rot and they told us they couldnt do anything, we needed to pull it. 2 more appointments each set to pull it and they keep delaying saying oh we can fix it, were not pulling it, it will be fine. This Monday we were to pull it. We were again told no. I said Im not hearing no, weve done this dance for 2 years now, the tooth is rotting, he doesnt need an infection, pull the tooth. Nope, theres a really good doc that can do a root canal, said they would call the next day to schedule. Didnt hear a thing. I called to question and was told theyre not comfortable pulling it or doing the root canal. Wont do a thing for him. So hes just supposed to live til this tooth rots out of his skull because they delayed so long NO ONE will touch it. Absolutely pathetic dentists. Also, theyre giving fillings to charge insurance when the kids dont need them so.... both of mine got 3 fillings after we were told theyre teeth were fine, no cavities.
