It was my first time going to the Oak lawn location and I found some good deals. I would be going back
Their prices are in the middle with other stores. Their employees are nice but they need more help I have waited in line a least 15 min one day..
Picked up some beef neck bones, for Sunday dinner, some gumbo mix., and some string beans too go with my dinner, which is going to be neck bones, string beans, white potatoes, and corn, with some Zatarain corn bread mix which is the bomb.
I was able to find everything I needed, and the cashier was friendly, helpful, and fast. I will definitely return to this Fairplay..
Ive been shopping here for about 5 years and only had one bad experience. The cashier was very rude and Ignorant, she was getting mad at me for not bagging my own groceries. Isnt that part of her job? I have a disability and can barely stand and she knew it. But one bad apple dont spoil the whole bunch.
I like this store. I always find something that I need. Some of the meat can be kind of expensive but they always have good deals to me. The staff is friendly. They also gave my son a chance with his first job!
This store was really nice when they first open but has since gone down hill. They never have things in stock that is on sale. They stopped giving rain checks. The employees are bothered when you ask for help. The people at the customer service desk have a terrible attitude. It seems like it is only at this Fair play on 87th & Cicero. The Fair play on 111th is always pleasant and helpful. Management needs to replace the people on Cicero with people who really want to work and have a better attitude

Always great service 47th and halsted need to follow the same guidelines that store customers service stinks some of the ladies there are very mean if you didnt want to work stay at home . 47th and halsted fairplay needs improvement on customer service. Thats all Im saying

Fairplay is an amazing neighborhood grocery store. The prices are reasonable. The workers are friendly and the store usually keeps a good supply of produce in. One of the sections that stands out is their meals to go section. They have everything from warm buffalo wings to cold salads and sandwiches complete with a juice for kids. I usually shop here for all my grilling goods as well. If you frequent the store, be sure to sign up for the rewards program via the phone app. Get it at the Play store or Apple store!
I took a friend shopping for her first time in Fairplay. The store was clean & well stocked. The associates and customers all wore masks & social distanced . Clerks were courtesy , generous and maintained a professional attitude in their workplace. Shopping there was such a pleasure. My friend enjoyed it as well. Good prices too !
I love me some fair play people are so friendly so helpful the place in general everything I want and need is there but most of all I work for Fairplay on 47th and Halsted and they say always go back 87th and Cicero my favorite place so go check out fair play
This store is one of the closest in my neighborhood. The produce is terrible. I bought some watermelon chunks there and had to return it it had no flavor, all water no melon.. They do have a great deli counter but the workers in deli have bad attitudes, the meats are fresh and good cuts of meat, and your gonna need to dress for the extremely cold temps in the frozen foods area. There is NO phone reception past the front area and you can barely get a smile from a cashier.. Convenient store but some areas need improvement for sure..
I often go to Fairplay but l noticed near holidays their prices skyrocket on certain items. Bummer.

I ordered groceries for delivery. They arrived 4 items short. The store manager quickly rectified the error and my items were delivered promptly.
Very well run store. Clean isles, great prices on many items, especially meat and vegetables, and most importantly-polite staff. Store managers visible on the floor and very helpful. Compared to similar grocery stores pricing and bills are always accurate and I never had an issue that I was overcharged. Cashiers asking questions and confirming at check out which prevents pricing mistakes. Wish they had more choices on ethnic foods and cheeses.
This was the 3rd time I have done the curb side service they offer. The 1st Time was perfect. Everytime something came up I would get either a text or call asking if they can substitute this for that. The 2nd time it was the same except I got charged double for 1 item. The 3rd time which was today I didnt receive 1 call about any item that wasnt in stock. Such as the Fried Chicken wings. How do you have an item like that in your ad and 2 days before new years you run out? Something that most people want for New Years Eve. The one reason we even shopped there today was for Wings. I know to some I shouldnt complain but it Is very hard to go out so I dont. Except to get food for our home.
Half the produce I bought ended up having mold on it by the next morning (were talking onions here which hardly ever mold). Prices are really high, and anything that isnt prepacked is pretty poor quality. Wont be back to one of these again, even though it means driving further.
The lines wasnt long they move fast and have plenty to of lines open the prices and meats are great
Don’t go if you need quick and easy service. I needed a propane refill and decided to do some grocery shopping as well. One of my items did not ring up so they sent a worker to go find the price. Took about 10 min for him to come back. If you don’t want to work, then don’t. I paid for my propane and waited outside for about 10 minutes before someone came out. I was told they are all out outside and they needed to go to the back to get some. I asked how long that would take and was told by the young employee “I don’t know” and he went back inside. I went inside to ask a manager and was told “10-15 minutes.” I waited about 30 minutes. Ridiculous.
I live on the east side and I go to this fair play as often as I can and theres always enough staff you can find whatever is on sale and I just love going to this fair play

Nice place to shop. Nice selection of food and the roasted chicken was excellent!...I would give it 4 stars but when it came time for my sister and I to check out the bagger walk away to talk to her coworkers left me to bag our groceries and we had a cart full too!...but other than that nice place to shop. I would go back.
Went here today after going too the store at 47th and Halsted and then the store at 6600 west on 111th street. Fairplay is a terrible store. The products they have on sale you better be there on the day the sale starts or your not gonna get the item. Good afternoon.yes today was my shop day.fairplay had very good sale on chicken, drum sticks catfish nuggets and catfish steaks.all different kinds of seasoning one dollar, milk, four cases. Well,with the covid going on it was at the correct amount to shop, not crowded,shopping was great had everything I needed,but no pops,cashier was kind professional in doing her job safety,and I was in and out without no problem,had everything on my list,store was CLEAN,store was fully stocked,thanks for that being a holiday week, GREAT sales on everything,this is my favorite STORE to shop for convenience and CLOSE TO HOME,the guys outside were very professional in doing their job and keeping you safe while KEEPING it safe for you to leave the area (PLEASED WITH ALL THEY DO)JOB WELL DONE

Fairplay is a local Grocery Store and I shop there frequently. The shelves are well stocked, the Dairy items are fresh and the prices are comparable. I love that the store is practicing good safety measures. I highly recommend.

Fairplay Foods is a great supermarket to take care of all your shopping needs. Theres a large deli area and its always clean well stocked with very friendly helpful staff. The seafood selections need a larger variety of choices such as fresh scallops and oysters. Some items can be a little pricey but over all they have nice weekly sales where you can get bargains.
Good selection of food products. Although busy, checkout was quick. They opened another cashier to accommodate the crowd. Very clean.

The store is hit or miss. There deli runs out of hot food, like chicken. They used to be very proactive and make more hot food, but now they balk at doing it. The regular grocery part is fine, the deli needs improvement.....

I travel to this store from Indiana because they always have fresh fish and the chicken wings dont look like theyve been at the gym on steroids.Ian the butcher, (hes not a mobster) is very fast and patient, I had to stock up for 2 separate households and he had me out in less than 15 minutes, thats including all the fish he had to fillet.The store is always clean and the cashiers are friendly and fast, but dont make you feel rushed.

I have friends and family that work at this place who are treated HORRIBLE. They are disrespectful to their own employees who do nothing but go the extra mile for them. I know someone who has worked here for almost two years and has not gotten a proper raise, which they promise a review every 6 months. The management here is terrible, upon a person experience where theyre fruit was moldy and was hoping for a refund, but got a serving of attitude instead. Stay Away.
Nice selection of deli items and produce. Some organic foods are now available. Clean and organized. Cashiers and baggers talk to each other more than they talk to the customer at the register. As a customer, you often feel invisible.

The store is ok to shop at,have a good selection on fruit and vegetables,but the staff at this store from management to cashiers are very( UNPROFESSIONAL) in one review I read where the employees act special, they were on target,when you get to the register they look in your face wont speak,font say thsnk you.its like they are doing you a favor, what these cashiers need to realize is it is the CUSTOMERS, that keep youll working,without us there is no work for youll. Management, if you allow your cashiers to get away with these attitudes that they display then there is poor management,they learn by example,and Ive seen a couple managers there with that same ignorant attitude, the whole staff at this store need some training on how to act professional. Or corporate need to hire a whole new staff.

Not everybody was meant to be a manager...But hey if even your management cant provide good customer service, then you cant keep your regular customers including me.Then you lose your sales, cause you dont know how to do your job.Thats what happens when you pick the wrong people to be a manager.Some people just never learn.But prices are alright.
Excellent store never an issue until this morning. New cashier working the express very rude. I only purchased one item and she wouldn’t hand it to me after she bagged it. I had to reach over to pick my own bag I which I couldn’t see it.

Good except you cant get in without a mask thats ok except everybody going in or out uses the same hallway and doors think they would use one set one out and then to see an on duty employee with his mask completely under his chin kinda makes me wonder why bother. Dan

I havent been in this store since Fairplay took over.I was able to find everything I went in there for. Its nice and clean the employees were very nice. It reminds me of the old Dominicks grocery store.
I like that they try to expand their product selection and offer a variety of foods. I have to agree with other reviewers in regards to meat prices. The sales are good, but the regular prices can be quite high.

If you buy milk or dairy from this store, save your receipt until youve checked it all. I just opened my milk and it was spoiled. All they can do without a receipt is exchange it for another spoiled gallon of milk. Ill go the few extra blocks and shop at Jewel from now on.
While I was there, I had no problem finding employees to assist me in locating a product. The cashier was friendly & efficient, no mistakes.
This is a great store, love shopping there. However mgmt needs to speak with a young lady @ the customer SVC desk by the name of Jennifer. The usual lady there is extremely nice, helpful and courteous. But Jennifer definitely needs training on ppl skills. Had to secure a refund due to an incorrect ring up on 4 items that were on sale for .78 each but rang up @ 1.00 each, a diff of .22 on each, total .88 cents, add 9.75%. Total owed to me .97cent. I did not notice that Jennifer had only given me 3 quarters and 2 nickels, total .85 cents until I got in my car. Seeing how I was in a hurry, I was not going back for .12 cents. But upon arriving home I decided to call the store only to make her aware of her error. But instead of being compliant and listening she proceeded to tell me that she gave me .90 cents not .85 cents. I informed her that she did not and even if she did, I was owed .97 cents, therefore her calculation was still incorrect. I tried to assure her that I was not asking for anything, just wanted to let her know that she probably added the incorrect tax as low and not high(the items were sodas, high tax items.) Again not listening she told me very rudely the computer calculated it and Im sure its smarter than you and actually hung up the phone in my ear as I was still speaking. After laughing @ the fact that she said that, seeing how I am a federal retiree who worked with facts, figures and numbers decades b4 everything was computerized. I decided to go back to the store 2c a mgr. In passing her, I told her that she needs to learn how to talk to ppl, she laughed. After speaking to the mgr, he refunded me .25 cent, which was over what I was owed. However, as nice as he was, the point was missed, it was not about the small change, which I initially told him. It was about the behavior of the employee. This occurred on Friday May 4th 2018. I hope someone of authority reads this and speaks to Jennifer because it was not only me that got a taste of her rudeness, I watched her behave rudely with the customer ahead of me.
Today, my experience was disappointing. Fruits and veggies were moldy if not on the verge of mold. Zuccini was moldy in the package. Strawberries on the verge of spoiled. The employees are always friendly, but the produce quality has gone down.
Good place to shop. Rright. Frebdky knowle dgable staff. Watch out for those three day sales. I have been there at 3pm on the second day to fond out of stock.

I spent 200-225 a week at jewel i buy the same items at fair play i spend 125-150 love it.
Place is changing, employees were more customer friendly now some afternoon crew are rude and not helpful. I rather go in morning were the employees are lot nicer.

2022-05-26This is the cleanest Fairplay Grocery store Ive ever been in! I usually dont go back after the 1st or 2nd time. They have nice fruits and vegetables. So far, their customers service has been impressive too. In the last 2 months Ive made at least 5 visits.

2021-12-21This supposed to be a five star place but thanks to the customer service and check out/register I have to take away stars. The place seems well stocked, organized with variety of items, especially at the grocery department. Meat department has great variety even though the quality is not the best, but the prices appear reasonable. Lots of items on sale, clearances and electronic coupons and points are available for the registered customers.Now, lets talk about the weakest link-the customer service. I asked a question about the coupons and the CS manger answered it but seemed annoyed, inpatient with lack of skills and turned around before I had a chance to say thank you. Registers are slow and again the CS didnt care much. I waited 15 minutes because the customer in front of me was paying with a check (yes, they still take checks) and there was a problem. I moved my merchandise to the other line by myself, which was also delayed due to different issue...no CS manager nor cashier apologized for my inconvenience or wait. Quite pathetic.

2022-01-31This store is very nice....pleasant people shop here and work here...The security guard is always so pleasant. They have a wide selection of meats, vegetables, seafood....liquor and many household items....and they have an award program that earns you free items.

2022-07-19Hi I went to fairplay for Era detergent. I know they wouldnt have it like always but I still enjoyed my shopping. Sale stuff run out to fast.
