I won’t lie, everything is good. The food, service, drinks. Is the juice actually fresh squeezed? I’m not sure. Can they fill the drinks up higher (view chai late with mostly whip cream)? Yes. Are the portions tiny for the price? 100%.Like I mentioned, the food is good, but not at all worth the price.
Had a great experience at this beautiful cafe. Loved the coffee cafe on one half and restaurant on other half. There was dedicated space for private events. Ample parking nearby. Outside seating was available. Hopefully theyll use a virtual wait list on the weekends again. Overall, quality food and service!
We were the first customers in. Beautifull decor love the soft yellow egg color on leather booths.I had Farmers market skillet bowl my husband had Some like it hot skillet bowl coffee & latteDelicious flavors after a couple bites food was cold 🙁 coffee’s were lukewarm 🙁 if we go back we’ll try other egg dishes. Very friendly staff though. maybe they should warm up the bowl a bit before they put d food in it.
If you enjoy small business this is the best place to start! As soon as you walk in the door the staff is immediately friendly and attentive with any concerns. The place is extremely trendy and a perfect place to take photos. I got the breakfast pot pie and it tasted awesome! The coffee bar also has unique flavors that set them apart from other places which is great. You can tell the management really put their heart and soul into the place for everyone to enjoy.
Went in today and ate for the first time. I had the Breakfast pot pie. This one one of, if not the best breakfast item I have ever had. Eggs, bacon, cheese, crust, sausage gravy, mor cheese, side of potatoes. I almost ordered seconds. The place is beautiful, with great staff. Highly recommend. Picture was taken after the first bite or two.
Its gotta be good if your dad stands up to take a picture of his food!! 👏 🤣Dad had their chicken flautas that were on a special leaflet, he loved it!I had Arboretum omlete without bacon and substituted their baby Spinach.I also had their Tumeric tea, really nice. The space is beautiful and not one detail was overlooked. Beautiful space
Met a friend here for breakfast on a weekday morning. Plenty of parking and we were the first in the restaurant for the day. I’m a breakfast guy and this is a must visit breakfast place for sure. I wish they would have opened up a bit earlier as I like to start my day earlier but wanted to try them out. The food was creative and “eggcellent.” The coffee was some of the very best in the area and it was clear their pursuit of the perfect cup is part of their vibe. Service was top notch. The atmosphere was modern, clean, and yet comfortable. Great pick.
Mediocre food with fancy names and descriptions... went for Sunday brunch, lotsa tables and room, so they wait was not horrid, while decor is cute... unfortunately its a place that seems all looks, but no substance.Had the Some Like it Hot dish and ugh such a goopy soggy mess of some egg dish. When food has to come covered in sauce its suss. I couldnt even finish half. Disgusting. The charred toast was somehow soggy. Had to request another butter because one per person was not standard. The lavender mocha coffee didnt taste good until halfway down where the flavorings had seemed to pool. The drier omelets and potatoes of my companions were mediocre at best in presentation as well as flavor. This chef should go train at Brunch Cafe. Geez.If one has to hunt for something tasty amidst a menu of over-promised and under delivered breakfast items... however cute the decor, will not be rated highly by this connoisseur.
Best darn brunch weve had in a while! My wife and I have been egg-citedly... HAHA... Sorry, couldnt help it!- waiting for this restaurant to open for some time. The place itself is trendy and attractive, with friendly smiling staff. The menu is on the small side (not a bad thing), however unique and appetizing. We were feeling fancy, so we ordered cocktails (both delicious) and a breakfast appetizer of brie bites and jalapeno strawberry jam, which we agreed was the most delicious thing weve ever eaten! Breakfast was yummy as well, food was warm, service was excellent. As a suggestion for all of my fellow small business owners, they have a great- looking private room space that would be perfect for meetings or customer/ staff appreciation events. Im going to plan something there soon, as this restaurant has an amazing atmosphere!
Not bad. Not very good though. Everything is kind of dry and bland . plenty of employees working on a Sunday morning but service was slow and not especially friendly. Just seems that the meals are made with no love. Interesting menu but lack luster execution . everyone seems a little miserable and its evident in the food. Nothing was bad or improperly prepared but just not much flavor and seemed more like cafeteria food.
Wish we couldve given this place a better review, but unfortunately, when youre not treated properly even before you even have your dining experience, it kind of kills the vibe.Came here for the first time for Mothers Day and was very excited to check it out after reading some great reviews. Knowing it might be busy due to the holiday, we got on the waitlist the night before through the website. Monitored the waitlist and said we were 7th in line the next morning. Got to the restaurant just a little before 9am (place opened at 8am) and notified the host that we were 3 adults, 3 kids, and a baby (reservation was for 7). Host said that there was a big party ahead of us, but that we were next in line. Over half an hour later and watching 5-6 separate walk-in parties seated right away, we were still waiting. Apparently the host was set on waiting for 1 specific booth to seat our party instead of putting 2 tables together. Not only was this frustrating, but having to reassure 3 very hangry kiddos (6 and under) that we would be seated soon while they got restless did not make for a great start to the Mothers Day festivities. The manager and our server tried their best to make the rest of the experience better by making sure our food came out quick, but unfortunately, at that point, we were already running late for other plans so we just wanted to eat and leave. Only reason why were giving the extra star instead of just 1 star to be honest. Was it better to be on the waitlist or just walk in? Who even knows. Was it worth it? Not for the frustration. Unfortunately, because of this experience, we do not plan on going back.
The first several times I went to this place, I thought it was phenomenal. I had nine members of my womans group being served by a really bad server. She lied about the pancakes she brought out. They were supposed to be gluten free. Im myself must have asked her for a refill of coffee twice and probably had two full cups in the two and a half hours I was there. More than half of the food came out cold. The last person to get her meal had to wait an additional 5 minutes and thats the meal that came out hot. There are over a hundred members in the branch alone and I talked it up before we got there. The manager didnt even really apologize or offer a offer a discount. The women with the wrong pancakes should have at least gotten her meal for free. I may give The place another chance with me and another person. However, I would not bring a church group or any other big group to this restaurant again. I ended up leaving this embarrassed.***I called on 2/24/22 to speak to the main manager and all he say is Ok, thanks for letting us know besides making a couple excuses.****
I’ve written reviews for this restaurant before and they were glowing. Food is fantastic in my opinion. Creative menu and the ambiance has a hip vibe and I appreciate the play on bubbly… bubble lights… love it. My latest experience however didn’t sit well. Our table was extremely wobbly not helped by dining with a 3 year old. I’m not talking slightly wobbly… I would never complain about it but every time you leaned the slightest the drinks would spill. I made a comment to the waitress so then next person wouldn’t need to be troubled and she offered to move us which was helpful and appreciated. Then we watched as the table was cleaned and another party was seated. No attempt at all was made to fix the problem. I mentioned it to the waitress and she said we are working on it. Mind you, there were plenty of other available tables. I didn’t appreciate the lack of attention to ensuring customers had a great experience. The quality of the food won’t matter for the customer who’s coffee just spilled over onto their plate. Just didn’t seem right. I’d definitely come back for the food but just make sure you have a stable table before you sit down!
We tried this new breakfast place for the first time. The skillet was deciduous and healthy. It was more like fusion food with delicacy. Coffee was better than other breakfast places. They have alcohol:). We will be returning soon. I would only recommend that they put calories for each dish on the menu.
What a refreshing breakfast concept! This place has hip decor, a fresh and creative menu and unbelievable food! The coffee bar has a great selection- my favorite was the Cereal Killer latte with cinnamon cereal topping-yum!I would totally recommend this place as a break from the dull outdated breakfast restaurants that pepper the suburbs.
I was excited to try this place and it looks like a super posh place I would eat at in the city, but anyone can put lipstick on a pig. Our table was really broken and wobbly (a new business shouldn’t experience this), the coffee was terrible and cold, the menu didn’t have very many options (especially something light or healthy, no oatmeal) and when the food came it was mediocre at best. We were never so happy to receive a check so we could leave.
The low score is for the food. Their French toast was barely seared on the pan much. With the topping and syrup on top the challah bread was very soggy it even looked and tasted like uncooked bread. What good is a fancy brand new look of the restaurant if the food is poorly made. I really hope my next experience would be better.
Food was great. They just opened last week so a few kinks to work out but the food made up for that.I had the Farmers market bowl and it was delicious. I had them leave out the fennel and they had no problem accommodating my request. My friend had the breakfast pot pie and she was also very happy.I appreciate that we could have a conversation without too much background noise.
Nice pretty place with good tasting food. The plates were all super cute and yummy worth an insta post. Staff was really nice and very accommodating. We brought a cake for our friend’s bday and they were nice and put it in the fridge. My only complaint is with their waiting system. We got on the waitlist through their website and we waited outside until there was only 1 party in front of us. We went inside thinking we would be seated soon. They seated 9 parties before we were finally seated. I am just confused at their waiting system.
My husband and I went to Eggology once couple months ago and liked their food. We wanted to go to Eggology for breakfast this past Sunday. I called before we left to check if there was a wait. The lady answered the phone said that there was no wait, then I asked her if I could make a reservation for 2 and we would be there in 20 minutes. She said they dont make reservations; it is first come and first serve. So, my husband and I drove to the restaurant. When we got in and asked for a table for two, the lady at the front desk asked if we were on the wait list. We said no, we didnt know there is one and we called ahead. She kept on saying they cant sit us because they have 1 hour wait on the wait list. Of course we asked her why she would tell me that there is no wait and it is first come and first serve. Wait is wait whether it is on a list or in the restaurant. She couldnt give an explanation and told us that there are other breakfast choices in the mall. We then went to The Hampton Social for brunch. It was a very pleasant experience. We are very disappointed with Eggologys service. It is irresponsible. In the end, they never told us where/how to get on that wait list either. Whether we could eat there or not is not a big deal, but everyones time is pressures. A customer choses to spend the money and time at your establishment, he should be respected with accurate information. It is ok to make a mistake but not even wiling to try to correct it or accommodate is not the right way to do business.
Be aware they will refuse to serve you food and pay them your money if you question their masks policy.People need to understand that we can stop eating out and support places where they follow and inforce unconstitutional mandates by the state tyrant. They asked us to put mask which is against our believes to wear them. We told them we dont want to wear them. Still ended up wearing it. We were hungry. Long story short they set us down took our drinks orders. General Manager came to our table to harras us even more and tried explaining us more state mandates and rules which we didnt ask for and she really invided our privacy. All we want is have breakfest with my family.Long story short. I told her mam’ you dont have to make a big deal about it. We are seating already and we put your muzzels on. What else would you like us to do. She said you can leave if you want to. Simply rude. We leftI will not come back and spend my money to this establishment ever again. Take your money someplace else.
Food was great. Fresh, full of flavor, appetizing. Service, on the other hand, was terrible. Usually not the type to complain but considering it was my first time trying and I will most likely not be coming back, I had to mention it. We waited 12 min for our server to ask what we wanted to drink? Food took another 45 minutes. I understand kitchens get backed up but the least you could is have your server mention that the kitchen is running behind or offer some kind of drink/appetizer for such wait. Had to ask my server for maple syrup TWICE and didn’t get it until my pancakes were already cold. I don’t know if the server had too many tables or what the issue was on this specific day but I had higher expectations for this restaurant.
We discovered a new breakfast place today. The Eggology Café at the Arboretum Mall in South Barrington was very good. Our server Jaime, was very personable and informative - his recommendations were spot on. Our table got the breakfast pot pie, an eggology benedict and pucker up waffles. We will be going back soon.
I tried the Arboretum omelette and it was the worst, the onions was huge cuts and tremendous amount, I felt I am eating onions with omelette not omelette with onions, and there was some kind of chewy uncooked things that I really could not recognize, I had to spit it out. the only good thing was the side of potatoes and the pancake, can not really recommend to go there anymore.
PERFECT BREAKFAST / BRUNCH PLACE.This is the best Brunch place i have been too. Their ambiance is amazing. They have a lot of seating so I doubt there will be wait but we made the reservation ahead of time. The place has a coffee bar as well with a separate sitting for the coffee Bar.I ordered Green With Envy - its a egg Benedict. I have never had such an amazing hollandaise sauce. It was a bit on the spicy side but I just loved it. I also ordered house made potatoes - they were made to perfection as well. And their coffee was also one of the best i ever had.
I literally cannot say enough great things about this place! My sister and have I come here more than any other breakfast place in the area. Our first visit was back in Oct 2021 and we cannot seem to get enough! The people here are amazing, service is spot on (shout out to Parker!) and the food is MORE than amazing! Dont forget to try their coffee bar, it is truly delightful (try their Cookie Butter latte, it will blow your socks off!). Their menu is simple and fresh. You will not be disappointed! We tell everyone we know about this place! Cant wait to head back here!

2022-02-25My family and I visited Eggology Cafe and absolutely LOVED it!! The first thing you notice when you walk in is the COOL Instagram wall. Loved the contemporary modern decor and the light fixtures. Beautifully done place giving out a fun vibe. The restaurant definitely understood the brunch assignment and created an awesome menu with lots of options. Everything we ordered tasted fantastic. My favorites were the bang bang shrimp, the cure, and some like it hot skillet. The latte options are great too, we tried the flower power latte and hazel joy latte and recommend them both. They also offer fresh juices. The take 2 to Mango was very refreshing and you cannot taste the ginger.

2022-04-12Eggology is super chic. Beautiful looking venue and great atmosphere in a great space. Now, lets get to the food. We had brunch and everything was terrific! Chicken and waffles came with fresh berries and the chicken itself was very tasty. I will say that the waffle was a bit underwhelming. The Royale burger was absolutely delicious. Cooked perfectly with nice thick strips of bacon. Fries were crispy and fresh. A tad expensive, but worth it for the food, vibe, and service.

2022-06-02This place is completely decked out, and very picturesque (if thats even a word). Lets just say the food matches the ambience. Had an amazing time eating here, everything we ordered was as delicate it looked. Will definitely come back again!

2022-03-31Lovely brunch this morning at Eggology. Friendly service, good drinks. & tasty food. My only complaint is that the yolk on my eggs benedict was pretty much hard-boiled. Still edible but definitely not my preference!

2021-12-07Amazing and quite the experience. The menu is Unique and theyre doing things other places are not. Definitely not boring in the slightest and the food is not only innovative but packed with flavor! The owner Pete is very friendly and his recipes are game hanging for the breakfast/ lunch business. And to top it all off the presentation is absolutely gorgeous to go along with the amazing flavor of the dishes. Definitely will be returning with my Girlfriend. Great owners, friendly staff, and a beautiful establishment. The decor on the inside is very modern and unique and by no means bland in the slightest and provides a excellent dining experience with amazing feng shui and great energy from the staff. Would definitely recommend to all my friends and family and I hope this business grows and flourishes. You can tell the owner is very passionate about cooking due to the brilliance and uniqueness of the dishes hes put on the menu and its a very refreshing experience compared to the boring cookie cutter competition.

2021-08-25The decor inside was beautiful. We sat outside on their patio which was also lovely. They had several amazing food options and we ordered the Brie bites (amazing!) for a starter. We had Green with Envy Benedict and Some Like it Hot Skillet and both were very well made. The service was also excellent—even though we were the only ones on the patio their team (and our waiter Ivan) were very responsive.Overall excellent experience and we will be back.

2021-12-28My Husband and I visited Eggology Cafe in the South Barrington Arboretum for the first time today for breakfast. The first thing we noticed when we walked in was the beautiful modern contemporary vibe. My Husband had the Pardon My French Toast and I had the Belgium Waffles. The food was absolutely amazing. The staff was super nice and attentive while still giving us just enough space to enjoy our time there. Our waitress Jackie, and the manager Jimmy were awesome! We will definitely be going back again and again.
