I barely go to the eastland mall anymore there is not that much stores there to shop at. I fell like no one will want to shop there anymore because all the stores are empty and the mall is about completely empty I have to go out of town on the weekends to a mall that has more stores there. I only go to kohls I don’t go to the other part of the mall
This mall could have a lot of potential but unfortunately it needs a lot of help. The few stores here aren’t bad but there definitely isn’t much to choose from. I mainly just stick with Kohl’s. A mild renovation would probably help attract more people but I don’t really see that happening. Overall it’s good if you need something quick and don’t want to drive out of town.
Sad how much this has gone down hill! It use to be the best mall ever with lots of stores open!! Even the food court was bad about 7 years ago that thing was full now it only has like 1 or 2!!! But the only reason the mall is still open is because kohls is connected to it!!! The only place that is good in there is the cookie place!! Ever sense people have started using Amazon its gone down hill!! Well I think I would rather shop and at a mall and walk around and get EXERCISE then sit around laying on the couch!!!
A lot of the stores are going out of business which is great because of all of the sales but as they slowly one by one actually leave the mall its becoming very dry and mundane there. The stores that are still going strong arent bad, most of them seem to have the same inventory every time you stop in. Last time I went I saw they are turning one of the spaces from an old store into archery tag and orb soccer among a few other things. So theres still some hope.
Not a lot of stores left here, its good if you want a place to get some walking laps in. They dont allow kids under 18 without an adult at times to prevent the mall rats from loitering. Only 2-3 places left in food court. Great steak and potato and some oriental food.
We went to outback steak house and it was awesome they got my steak right the first time so i could eat with my husband not after he did. And it was our 20 year anniversary and the waitress was fantastic she made our night. The food is delicious the staff is polite and courteous. We called ahead and when we got there we went right to our table and was setted the only thing i wish they had would have been fried pickles.
Very limited options to shop parking lot is just a nightmare to drive through as if it’s hard to find yellow paint going up the street to Lowe’s and re-painting lines not to mention the millions of potholes do you owner of this mall really should just give it up also why advertise red Robin when it’s down the street not even in the damn mall.
The mall has a decent selection of stores. There are fewer stores for my personal taste than there used to be, but it still has a lot of food stuff. As I have gotten older, I appreciate the kids play are more and more. It is a nice place for my kid to run off some energy in the winter.
This is a decent mall really. I enjoy walking around it. Usually its not so packed youre overwhelmed. Pretty good food court and some interesting stores. Nice bathrooms. I really like FYE, Earthbound, the shoe store options... the picture is just something I always laugh about. Its the bathroom near the food court and the arms are amusingly tiny. I think of it as aliens with capes or aliens without capes.
Sad - its slowly dying. Like the houseplant you just cant bear to throw away but its lost all of its leaves and not pretty to look at. This mall is in the same condition. Many stores have left and not much shopping to do. Paper covers many of the store windows and they are caged shut. Seems like the remaining stores all have going out business signs hanging above their entrance.
Still a few great shops left in the mall. We get to Kohls more than most. Lately it seems like quality is taking a hit, particularly with shoes. So we may move our shoe shopping elsewhere, but its still a great store for basic clothing needs. Customer service does a decent job too. I miss the days when quality was better and Shoppes in the mall were more interesting. I miss small pet/fish shops, and book sellers, and other niche/specialty places to find things. Id love to see them get a science based shop...where nerds can go to geek out. Its tough to find lots of reasons, other than clothes, to get to Eastland Mall.
Almost a shadow of what it use to be, eastland mall is still chugging along. As with many of the malls around the country, this one has also had many stores close leaving the mall much quieter than it use to be. What stores still remain are definitely worth checking out. Eastland mall still has a few unique stores with things Ive not seen in other places. Clothes, shoes, and jewelry...yup theyve got plenty of that to.
Subpar arcade, adequate game stop, unique goth shop, and average coffee are all available in one place. there is also a kids area to keep them entertained. not many maps posted so it is easy to get lost or turned around if you are not a regular that walks through the mall for your afternoon stroll. if anyone else misses Wacky Fun Time (see picture) and wants to start a protest or a petition, let me know, Im down.
This place has lost a lot of huge retailers, but it seems to be taking action to prevent closure. Currently remodeling what used to be a JC Penny and other projects like that. The food court only has 1 remaining restaurant in it, which I dont really prefer anyways. But the 2 little pretzel joints in other parts of the building are always available and delicious. Its a place to kill time, and its nostalgic, at least for me, even though its not even close to what it used to be 10 years ago.
Unfortualy Eastland, like lost malls, has significantly gone down hill over the last decade. The food court is occupied primarily by vacant booths. Most of the shops left are lack luster to a younger crowd. They are currently remodeling the old Sears space into something new hopefully whatever theyre working on will bring new life.
This mall is nothing like a top tier mall, but I suppose comparing a smaller mall in the Midwest to a Simon mall isn’t fair. I’ve been to some pretty rough malls before, and this one is certainly better than those. It doesn’t have quite as much empty real estate as other malls and seems to have retained some amount of traffic over the years. All in all, it’s about what you’d expect from a midwestern mall. If they have a store you like, it’s probably going to be exactly within your expectations. Nothing to write home about, but also not bad.
Huge mall multiple options(stores) definitely bigger the any mall in Chicago unfortunately I was looking for the airmax 90 curry and all they shoes stores never heard of them and they was just released. Came home and went to ford city and had them in minutes.. Great experience tho
This is a decent mall, and I would rate it higher except that the food court selection is mediocre for a mall of its size. Furthermore, many of the mall stores are closing reducing our selection. Now the store that are there I find to be quite nice. Everyone I talk to are polite and helpful.
Disappointed stores are leaving. Not enough stores to interest me. Ive been going on Auroras fox valley Mall. Its 2 story & has nice places to shop.Their food court is great. Eastland mall food court is bland. It doesnt really offer anything that I cant drive down Veterans & get someplace else.
This mall is pretty good! If youre from a big city and used to a huge mall with endless stores, you probably wont be impressed. East land mall has the popular stores. The only complaint I have with this mall is the food court. The restaurants are not good and the food court area is not very clean! The only place I recommend eating here is chick fil a.
Food court sucks. No good choices for clothing. Layout of mall is weird and outdated. You can feel the floor in uneven when walking down the hallways. Security is always standing around talking to people. Parking lot is also confusing; many potholes, lines need to be repainted, and the stoplight on Empire is terrible
Sears Macys and Bergners have left or are leaving. Used to be the place to shop and hang out but the mall has driven the rent up so high on the stores that they have to compensate by raising the prices of the merchandise. The malls going to have to change or everybodys going to buy stuff online that wont have any customers left. Adapt or Eastland Mall will be closed within a couple of years
Eastland mall use to be good, never great...but lately just everything is going out of business or going bankrupt there isnt much left of it. Heard they are putting a huge fitness center where JCPennys use to be. Im not sure how that will turn out since there are already so many fitness centers in the area already. Might just be another bust for the Mall..who knows what will happen though.
Sad to see more stores closing, online shopping is killing malls. I also use online for hard to find items and must admit at times just for convenience. If we shop in the stores and then buy online there wont be any stores to shop at before long. All of us need to shop local as much as possible.
Coming from someone who lived at a place where there was 2 HUGE malls this mall is horrible. Its ok if ur just going to run to like 1 store but if your going on a shopping trip then NO. There is like 11 stores and most of the stores are closing. Im predicting that the mall is closing soon.
Im currently sitting in the play area with my 5 children, all 7 and under. Theres a store called Custom Junkeez Print Shop nearby. Their window displays samples of their work, and most of it clearly references pot or is sexually explicit. Im already not in favor of this mall for the continual lack of stores. Its like walking through a graveyard. This completely inappropriate display directly facing the childrens play area is the last straw. Do yourself a favor, and find a real mall or shop online. This place has no stores or class.
With Macys and and other stores gone, this mall has become half dead. On the other hand few other stores like DSW, oshgosh are opening up stores around this location which might eventually turn this into a small outdoor shopping location. May be the stars with increase then.
Would get a zero star if I could. We stopped here during a shopping trip in Bloomington. The entire mall smelled as if gallons of perfume were dropped on the floor. It smelled beyond bad. We left after visiting only one store, and have no plans to return. Either they pump the smell in, or someone really spilled perfume. Smelled in the hall, open areas, stores. Asthma and allergy sufferers....STAY AWAY!!!!! Not worth it.
1/10 would recommend this mall. Macys left, JC Penny is on their way out the door. Unless youre going to Ulta dont bother. It appears dated, with a weird layout, and very few stores. Lastly, there is almost no where to eat. In a city with more restaurants per capata than anywhere in the US, this location is LACKING.
L loved it I went to Footlocker to get a certain kind of sneaker cuz I had surgery on my foot and they had exactly what I needed and they were even on sale the salesman was very kind and very helpful I got exactly what I needed havent been to the mall in like 3 years wow has it changed

2022-05-14I wasn’t at the mall, I was at the Spring Carnival and it was awesome. My kids had a great time. Lines are long, and food is expensive, but that’s to be expected.

2022-04-30Hilarious that this is even called a mall. Its not an exaggeration that 80-90% of the places are vacant. They dont even bother to fill half the vending machines. RIP

2022-04-11Theres really nothing left except Kohls such a depressing sight to go out there today almost completely abandoned and mostly closed up empty spaces where stores used to be.

2022-04-13Random parts of the mall smell absolutely terrible. Would not recommend going till the problem is fixed. Possibly a health safety hazard...

2022-06-16I would give it 4 stars but there is only a handful of stores there. I think it is time for the Mall to attract some new stores to come to the mall.

2022-04-24Kohls is still staying strong. They usually have pretty good deals. No other large stores though, just smaller stores.
