Heard from coworker they had a good skirt steak sandwich , tried to go after work a few times but hours of business made it difficult cause of traffic .Well i had the day off today and went with a friend and we were both drooling while eating lunch cause the skirt steak was so tender and tasty ! Nice thick piece of meat .....worth every penny !
Went here during COVID. Had great pick up service. Show up with your mask on. Order outside the store, they deliver to you car. We got the Skirt Steak burgers , some turkey and cheese. The burgers were amazing. Even the Boars head Turkey was some how better than Jewels. Its a little far for us to go all the time but if you are going to Woodmans or in the area for something. Its a great place to stop. We will be back.
If I could, Id give them 10 stars instead of just 5. The greatest quality and most wonderful people! The service is amazing. And the catering is so wonderful! Truly the best around. Marlene in the deli area is especially awesome! Just cant recommend them more highly!
I shopped twice. Meat and food is just good, not superior. customer service is ok too. Both times minor things like they didn’t charge and would forget to give me things I wanted to buy. I would call and they wouldn’t say I m sorry. They are not. Just like well yeah, we forgot but you were not charged. What is big deal? It is not. Just irritating.
Had my kid brother Joe pick me up some marinated steaks just yesterday. I gotta say, they were simply fantastic. Off the chain. If that steak is wrong then I dont wanna be right. I love America, but more importantly I love Dorfler.

We travel to Dorflers twice a month about 35 minute drive. Not only are their meat,chicken, soup, fish, etc. the best ever, but Alex Schroeder, our personal butcher, is THE TOPS IN THE STORE, for us at least. We wait for him to take care of us . Great job Alex, and great place to shop.
I purchased a Beef Tenderloin Roast for Christmas and I must say it was delicious! It was tender moist and flavorful. I also purchased a container of their Garlic Herb Parmesan Butter which I softened and rubbed on the roast. I would definitely buy from there again highly recommend Dorflers Meat Market. While you are there pick up a container of their Homemade Chopped Liver, delicious. Will definitely try some of their other meat and fish.
My first time at this place, I bought a London Broil and it was the worst piece of meat we ever had. My husband and I couldnt eat it. It was filled with fat through and through. ended up throwing half of it away. At a cost of $21.35, that makes $10.67 thrown out the window. Save your money and go elsewhere.
I called in a carryout order and did a curbside pickup, worked out great. Made two excellent meals, Filet mignon and Pretzel crusted chicken, both paired with the garlic smashers, Mac-N-Cheese, and roasted vegetables l. Everything was amazing - highly recommend everything especially those mashed potatoes!
I have been well served by the Dorflers Crew for years. EVERYONE there is knowledgeable and unfailingly helpful. IMO, their Meats, Poultry, Deli and Catering are second to none. During the course of the year, when I want to try a new dish, the Butchers always tell me how to prepare the Meat or Poultry in the best way. They have never been wrong. I dont cook for the holidays anymore. Tim and his Catering Crew do the work, so I can enjoy my familys visit. Its made the Holidays much more enjoyable for everyone.
Great place! I live close to this place and its a little pricey but its total worth it. 90% of vBulletin the people working here are super nice. They have a great variety of selections. They have great home made soups. Good produce and fish. Its tough when you go there you always leace with something you werent expecting. The person who gave them the poor review. It sounds like there was a genuine mistake. I have shopped her 20+ times and never had any issues of any kind!Go see them. Its a meat lovers PARADISE!
So terribly sorry that I troubled the woman answering the phone at 9:38am this morning. I run a jerky business and we are struggling to get stock at a reasonable price so I phoned and politely asked for a price on a bottom round. I had to repeat myself 4 times, which I am used to because I have an accent but I patiently did so and then all I got was SIGH... HOLD ON What a pity because while this drama wont continue, I sure as hell wont order the 250lbs of beef I need weekly here.
Christmas carnivores beware!!!We went to pick up a pre-ordered bird and were greeted with a very long line.There were staff member not doing anything while we were standing around waiting for a simple job that shouldve taken a few minutes. The service was the worst. We just went to sunset foods a few minutes away and got our turkey.
When a guy wants a good steak you must come here. You can look for sales but if you want a restaurant quality steak without going out to eat, this should be your only stop. Great meat, best ready made potatoes and did I forget no meat store on the North Shore has better Marinated Skirt Steak than here. You get what you pay for.
Steaks are not that good, $25 USD for a pound of Rib eye, I was expecting to be exquisite and it was like an average steak you can find at Walmart
Hands down best steak sandwich form here to Chicago. I tried it all over town. Nothing compares.. I don’t think people know this lol.
Food is good and fresh. But ordering from here is SOMETHING else. When you call it in they act like its too much to take a call in order. They take an hour no matter how many sandwiches you order. Customer service is BAD BAD BAD. I HATE calling in an order for my office because of the poor attitude I get over the phone as if I am bothering them by putting income and profit into the business. My office loves to order from here and I try to avoid it and not order here for weeks and weeks at a time because I dont feel like getting an attitude from the workers.
The first two batches if steaks I bought from here were decent. The third however tasted pretty weird (spoiled, stale) and gave me food poisoning. I threw up and was sick for two days straight.

Super disappointed w this place. my bf always talked highly of them. they are known for thier marinated skirt steak. so i called ahead and reserved a lb of it 18.99 a lb later for skirt steak !!! it tasted like nothimg special at all. the second item i got was hot italian sausage. i usually adore italian sausage and i couldnt stomach this stuff. it almost tasted as if the meat was bad and there was zero flavoring in it what so ever. ive had mild sausage w more kick to it than this. sorry guys you were not up to par. i will continue to drive a hr to elburn and get my meats from thier meat market and drive to kregers in naperville to get my sausage.
What is so good about this place? You can get the same quality non-grassfed organic meats at Jewel or Marianos. Why pay more. I want a butcher who provides beef bones, bison, and grassfed beef, free range chicken, and chicken parts.This place does not distinguish itself from standard stores. It is a shame because if they differentiated themselves with superior products I think they would have a HUGE following, including me.
Outstanding steaks, burgers and poultry. The Quality of the meat is excellent. Also very good service and really amazing self made stuff like baked potatoes.
They quoted me $3.50 over the phone for kebabs. I bought 10. When I looked on my bill, they overcharged me by more than $20. It was $5.60 a kebab. Since then, they have a greed to give me a $10 credit at the store. It was nice of them to meet me halfway.
Best local butcher around! Everyone is friendly, deli carried Boars Head long before others, ground chuck never has gristle or bone and theyre very nice when you ask for special requests.

The staff are always very friendly and helpful when choosing what to get. I recently tried steaks from there wagyu beef range and it is incredible stuff!
I think the place is over-rated. I cant believe they are selling prime beef. Its just not that good. Most of the time tough and little flavoring .

Still friendly service. Be sure to sign up for the loyalty program. They also make fresh sandwiches at the deli counter. Call ahead in the morning to have your order ready at lunch time. They are busy from 11-1230. They also have a sandwich card for frequent buyers.

2021-08-12Great Skirt Steak Sandwich. Corned Beef and Pastrami was very good, but not the best bread. Lots to choose from from the deli and from the butcher area. Great place overall.

2022-01-21Too expensive. Although their meats may be good quality, I was shocked to pay $12/lb for a cooked ham over Christmas. Over double the average of other places. And they sneakily dont put prices on display, knowing most people are too embarrassed to keep asking how much is this, how much is that I used to use them a lot a few years ago, but even for special occasions now I have to be pretty desperate. Shame.

2021-09-04Their skirt steak is delicious. Its a different cut of skirt steak and you wont find it at Jewel. Ive only had it one other time in my life. The Jamaican chicken is also tasty and seasoned to perfection. BUT my hands-down favorite item is the cheddar jalapeño sausage. The BEST sausage Ive ever had! Went there for the first time last week and were going back today. 😋

2021-03-31A few months ago I got myself into some hot water regarding some crab legs. The staff, Natalie in particular, had my back! I have never encountered such fantastic customer service. To say they went above and beyond is an understatement. In addition to fantastic service the food was incredible! The crab legs were fresh and the best the family had had since their days on Captiva Island, Florida. Thank you thank you thank you!!!!!!!!

2021-03-29We just finished Passover dinner all ordered from Dorflers. Everything was delicious. We had the chicken, brisket, matza ball soup, gefilta fish and chopped liver. So easy. Perfectly reheated. I highly recommend their catering. Then you get to enjoy your guests. Great job!
