It’s a love/ hate relationship! I love DG, and certain employees are absolutely the BEST!But the store! It’s a wreck!It’s not recovered. Shelves are empty for weeks and weeks of certain items.Truck comes and BOOM! Rolltainers down every aisle. Saturday’s Suck! I want to do my shopping with the $5 coupon but holy moly it’s a sh* t show.Sometimes I buy stuff and sometimes I have to say Nope. Sometimes it’s just too hard to shop.
I used to like shopping here. Never again on a holiday weekend for sure! Maybe never again! 20 people in line...1 register open. Someone told one of the workers that was stocking that the line was backed up... She said yeh, its been like that all day... Then went back to what she was doing. Then, I asked the cashier if she often gets stuck as the only checker with so many customers waiting... She said it didnt matter, its no worse than Walmart. The lines are long there too ... Guess what!?!... Thats why I dont shop at WalMart & now why I wont be shopping at this store either.
They have a good selection of stuff. And their employees are very nice. I would recommend going there.
Manager was aware that medically exempt people dont have to wear a mask and HIPPA and ADA prevent them for asking about your medical condition.
The store was completely trashed. Workers didnt know where products were when asked. Things all over the floor in every single aisle People standing around joking rather than cleaning up their store. Itd be different if it was a clean store. But far from it.
I shop at dollar general alot but this location was different, TERRIBLE customer service, in particular Doug, he was so rude and seemed annoyed when I asked him for help. Ill never come back ...😡😡😡
This is without a doubt the DIRTIEST store I have ever been in. Half of what I needed was not in stock. Just disgusting!!
I visited the Champagne, IL store located at 817 Bloomington rd at 2:30 pm on Friday Octpber 21 to see about exchanging a car charger I had purchased at a different location. As I approached the counter I asked a young man standing there if he could help me, he was not wearing a name tag or even a work shirt. He did identify himself as Antwann when I inquired about his name. I explained I had purchased the charger 2 days ago at another location and it did not work and I inquired about exchanging it. He said and I repeat verbatim yo man..I donteven know if we gots that. Why dont you go back to where you boughts it from and ask them bout it I explained we were traveling and that store was hours away. The item still had the tag on it and I again explained I just needed an exact exchange. Antwann told me I could go look for it but he wasnt sure what they carried. I looked but was unable to locate the item so I went back to Antwann who was standing behind the register now listening to some very distasteful music on his phone. I asked if he could get the manager for me and he said he couldnt because she was back on a truck unloading a shipment. I left the counter to go look for her but was unable to find her so I approached Antwann again and explained to him that the manager doesnt unload the truck the delivery drivers do to which he replied oh well then I dont know where she at I asked Antwann If it was an emergency how would you go about notifiying her? He stated Id hit her up on the phone...at this point I am beyond irritated so I asked him to please call her and he agreed but told me as he was calling that she was going to tell me to go back to the store where I purchased the item. After he spoke with her he said Shes busy but we dont have no chargers here. I left VERY FRUSTRATED to go to another store! I dont expect college graduates to be employed at this company but I would hope that I could at LEAST hold a decent conversation with an employee that spoke proper english instead of slang and didnt refer to me as man especially since I am a woman and a educated one at that!!
I love this store have been going in here for 5 years and they are friendly and very helpful in love the people that work here...there is sometime along wait but how is it when you go to Walmart and other stores there are long waits sometimes..just how life is!!!
Has what you want if you can get to it...always racks of new supplies blocking aisles. Dirty too. Nice people work there yay

Store is a mess at all times and they dont do cash back anymore. I arrive at eight forty five and the store is already closed. The sign says nine. Wow how rude can you be. They need a new manager!
They were in process of switching to Christmas whick is why I was there but it was so cluttered u couldnt use a cart....
Employees are overworked and stressed, and the wait for checkout is long. The place is not very clean or well organized, however, on a practical level, it serves its purpose.

With the exception of the tall young cashier male the place is completely disorganised with a real piece of work MANAGER.
Not the greatest DG Ive been to. Tends to be a mess. Some of the staff is good. There tends to be unsavory looking people loitering outside often.
You need to step your store up manager Jason I am still waiting for the refund or that extra charged item on my receipt
Much like many dollar general south of Wisconsin, a lot of the store was in disarray. The products were mostly in large, black shipment containers and the people working werent doing anything.
Ive always gone there for my shopping and have not been dissapointed ,its great in a pinch and accepts food cards and you can get alot.

2021-11-24Come in to Christmas shop & isles are blocked (as always), but this time was special…because it smelled like dead rats throughout the store.Kinda hard to shop when you can’t get through most of the store AND your stomach is churning. I’ll pass, I understand at times being understaffed but this location is just the worse.I couldn’t imagine buying food here again, but gifts or anything else either.

2020-12-24Their store sign says they close at 9PM. I got there at 8:54 and the door was locked. The manager came and said, were closed. I told him it was only 8:54 and that I had to grab a couple things for my 88 year old grandmother, who is dying of cancer, and he repeated that theyre closed because they start counting the register at 8:55. I had to go to Walgreens and pay more for the items I intended to get at Dollar General, and that caused me to miss my bus back home to my grandmother, and had to wait an extra half hour for the next bus. The manager doesnt care about his customers, only about getting home early

2020-08-04Went in for a few items. Then I found SEVERAL items that were 1 penny ( insect spray/pool toys/summer. The penny items are supposed to be pulled as discontinued, BUT if a customer finds them, they are supposed to sell them. However, the manager told the cashier not to sell them to me and immediately grabbed the items and took them to the back. She even identified where a few of the items were on the shelf. If she knew they were there- why didnt she pull them like she is supposed to?????? Really makes me wonder. And her nasty attitude didnt help. I am waiting for a callback from the District Manager.

2020-01-10The shelves are bare with boxes that need opened and put on the shelves but they are just left in the middle of isles and you cant even go through and shop the isle because they have nothing out of the boxes that arent opened are in your way. They need better management to ensure that their employees are putting out the product properly.

2021-01-08I Was Not Allowed To Use The Restroom, I Am So Confused That I Can Spend Money To Purchace Items & Allowed To Touch Many Items, Only Not Allowed To Use The Facility. Every Isle Is Packed With Merchandise That It Is Very Hard To Social Distance or Wash Your Hands Because No One Is Allowed To Use The Restroom. The Casier Acted Like He Did Not Want To Be There. I Suggest Closing A Facility That Refuses Customers The Use Of Washing Your Hands.

2019-03-12Employees were great. Usually I dont give high rating to a dollar store. But when we had issue with a headphone we got from here they were more than willing to help us. I was also able to get some healthy snacks from here. Nice store

2020-06-09The cashier is kind, always, but I think maybe its a mgr? Long white ponytail? She always finds a way to make it a miserable shopping experience. Wether its being sarcastic with responses to product location or yelling across aisles as she eavesdrops on worker conversation. She has no class. Why she couldnt just walk over to the workers aisle and instruct them instead of shouting over the store is beyond me; totally unprofessional and demeaning, really. Im just visiting so only been there a few times, but her conduct is unbecoming of her position.

2017-06-16While you can often find great deals and plenty of variety in this store, it is always disorganized and cluttered. I have never been to the store and seen it without at least five or six aisles full of inventory needing to be shelved. Recent personnel changes have made the overall shopping experience satisfactory again. The mgr and Asst mgr are both working hard to make this store great.

2019-06-30They always seem to have what we need, but the store needs a deep cleaning. But its always well organized and items are easy to find. The staff has also been super friendly and helpful.
