The driver who came to install our new fridge wad a rock star!! I can’t say enough complimentary about him! His timing was accurate, and right on schedule, but we ran into problems with our copper tubing — it is old, and kept popping leaks, and he was able to find the shutoff valve and replaced the copper tubing with a flexible stainless steel, while I was frantically trying to get ahold of our plumbers, with no success. If Brandon hadn’t been do successful, we would have had to shut off water to the entire house until we were able to get a plumber here! Brandon saved the day!!
I purchases a 500 dollar over the range microwave on from Curt 10/22/21. It was shipped from Springfield IL and delivered to the Decatur store on 10/23/21. I drove around around to their warehouse and it was put in the back of my vehicle. I got him and went to install this and there was massive damage to the side of the microwave. Enough damage that to install it would have been incorrect due to then dent in thr side. I called immediately and spoke to Jeff and ssid give him until Monday to make it right. Monday-no call back. I went in there Tuesday. Nothing but excuses. Then was told I have to email pictures to the service dept. Excuse me what? I have to gonthriigh loopholes because I purchased a damaged microwave? Went back there Wednesday and they were unable to return it because it was marked as history I gave them the benefit of doubt (bad choice) and one again gave them the opportunity to make it right. I was told you will be called regardless on Thursday Thursday 5pm rolled around and no call.. I once again for 4th time returned to the store with the microwave after calling ahead of time to tell them I will be there and expect a full refund. After getting there I was greeted by they did call you right NO, NO they didnt. After being extremely furious at this point I was them given 2 options to either make a return or order a different microwave. (I had been trying to return for 4 days) the service that I got, the RUN AROUND that I went through, the phone calls, wait times, driving 30 mintues put of my way 4 days to try to get my money back on something that was damaged to begin with is unacceptable. The worst experience ever. I was trying to keep I local but ended up getting a 500 microwave from lowes instead. Got it that day undamaged and hung. Never will go back
Hands down the WORST customer service Ive ever experienced. Our washer broke and couldnt be repaired so we needed a new one. DVD was $100 more than Best Buy, but we needed it quickly and BB didnt have it in stock. DVD told us they would be in Tuesday so we ordered.After not being on the truck twice in a row, they finally scheduled delivery 2 weeks later. When they installed it, it wouldnt work. The installer told me Id have to call the service department and schedule a tech to come out. He didnt call them himself, just threw it in my lap to handle. Then they left a puddle of dirty water on the floor, and scuffed our hardwood floors.When I called the service dept,. they said it would be 4 days before the tech could make it. So much for the same day service they advertise. I was later told that its same day when available which is a complete joke. At that point I told them to come and get it, and they had the gall to charge a restocking fee and a pickup fee - FOR A NONFUNCTIONING PRODUCT. Thy claim this is because I didnt allow their tech to check out the unit. But after weeks of needing a washer, and laundry piled high, they should have been there the same day - like their ads say.Their service department supervisor, Devon, wont actually speak with customers. He/She just hands down their verdict on whether or not to make things right. Its not even about the money, its the principle that they are so hostile towards customers.Before you do business with DVD, Id highly recommend that you read the negative reviews here, and the complaints on the Better Business Bureau website and elsewhere.The test of customer service isnt how they treat people when everything goes well, its how they react when it doesnt go well. In my case and many others Ive seen they failed miserably.
Bought a brand new Speed Queen washer and dryer. Delivered in an o.k. Amount of time by very courteous installers. Unfortunately the dryer does not work. Called and got the runaround and finally a “repair service” date for TWO WEEKS later. Continued to call and finally got a date for the following week. Even though we were very specific about what was wrong, the repairman came out, verified the problem but did not have the part to fix. Said they could get the part in 6 to 10 days. So I sit here 3 weeks later with no contact and a brand new non-working piece of junk dryer. Called and left a detailed message….NOTHING. Do you think I should pay to go to the laundromat after purchasing this? Plus, when you call and ask to speak with the manager, that person does not call you back. I guess they are too important so they have the service department call you. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED. We WERE repeat customers. Guess next time it will be to their competitors. Would have given zero stars if that were an option. UPDATE 7/17/21….no word from anyone on the status of the mysterious part needed to fix the dryer. I have stopped stressing about this. I feel defeated …. I now have a brand new useless dryer for sale if anyone’s interested.
In April, I ordered a Bosch dishwasher from DVDAW with and expected delivery and installation about 3 weeks later. The model I ordered was decided by the lead time, as the model I wanted had a 6 month delivery estiamte. Unfortunately the order has been delayed and (they claim) not yet delivered; however, their web site lists that dishwasher IN STOCK. In addition, despite having had 4 or 5 new appointments to install the dishwasher, NOT ONCE has anyone called me to let me know that the dishwasher didnt come in so we would need to move the appointment. I have waited at my house for them to show up and no call or arrival. When I would call them they would just matter-of-factly tell me the dishwasher didnt come in. I understand they cant control a manufacturer that is not delivering...what they can control is their communication and treatment of their customers. I chose to go with a local company instead of one of the big home improvement stores because you usually get better service - I was wrong. Dont make my mistake. Go elsewhere.
A technician from DVD came to our house last Tuesday to repair a dishwasher that is not dissolving soap/cleaning dishes. He looked at the dishwasher and then sat on the floor and chit-chatted on the phone for 20 minutes. I was then informed that two parts needed to be ordered for $378. I received a call a week later that the parts were in. I called the day of (since you dont even get an am or pm estimation anymore - its just sometime that day with a 30 min call ahead) to tell them that we needed to leave the house by 4pm. The technician arrived at 3pm and installed the parts (main board and heater)/tested the dishwasher. He then walked out of the house about 5 minutes to 4 and was in his truck for 15 min. My husband went out in the meantime and reminded him that we had to leave by 4. He then came back in the house and told us that two more parts are required (user interface and temperature sensor) for another $200. We were told the board he installed should pair with the user interface, but it wasnt. That sounds like a compatibility issue with the parts?!?! . And did the heater really need replaced if we are now replacing the temperature sensor? So over $600 on parts and labor so far - who knows what hell find next time, for an only 6 year old dishwasher?!?!?!?We had him remove the parts he installed. He left at 4:50 - so yes, I missed our childs game.We have given DVD and their service the benefit of the doubt several times in trying to support a local/family owned business - and each time we kick ourselves. We will be shopping for a new dishwasher this weekend - but NOT at DVD.
In general it was a positive experience. However, I have bought two appliances that are natural gas and it seems that they never mention the installation kit until Im ready to pay. At that time they act like they forgot. Just tell me up front it takes gas installation kit. Also I would like to know upfront and in the name of transparency that I do not have to take their 5 year warranty and thus save money. As I said our interaction was generally positive and we will go back to the store to purchase again. Sometimes they just need to be more open and less a Salesman trying to close a deal. Generally good guys.
My fiancé and I went shopping for a new washer when our Whirlpool HE broke. Their associate Rick was friendly and knowledgeable when it came to helping us choose a washer. We also found and purchased a new refrigerator that same day. The appliances were delivered, installed and in use by the very next day.
DO NOT buy from here, their warranty is an absolute bait and switch joke. Their service department does not answer or call back and their sales department keeps passing the buck when it comes to upset customers. Their business model seems to reflect their lack of morals, putting the money first and customers last. Will never purchase from them again.
Had a tech look at our fridge, he determined it needed a new motor so he ordered one. It took about 2 weeks before the motor was delivered and installed. The next day the motor semed really loud, I called the office and the lady told me that she could send a tech back out but if the issue turned out to be normal that I would have to pay another fee, (79.00), so this caused some distrust for me, if theres a chance Id have to pay again Ill call another service. Note the tech guy was super nice. The total bill was 250.00.
Had a repair person come out in August and give me a $500 estimate to repair an ice maker. I called back 60 days later to have them make the repair and they said they needed to come out again to assess the appliance and charge me again. I told them we hadnt used it, but Drew on the other line wanted nothing to do with my opinion. With a newborn in the house, I like to limit the amount of people entering the house during this time. He refused to listen to me pushing his opinion on me. When I decided that I was going to go ahead and make the appointment, he was still talking over me so I couldnt. I made an appointment with another repair company in town. My $500 will be spent somewhere else and I will never use DVD again. Absolutely unacceptable.
I ordered a deep freezer at the end of march it is now October 7 months later i still have not received it it i called them to get a refund back because i was done waiting on one to come in i paid over 400$ cash they told me i could not get a cash refund i had to wait 7 to 10 days for a refund to be mailed to me .i have waited 10 days and still have not received my check WHAT A JOKE of A COMPANY I Would Not Recommend anyone to get your appliances from here. Rude Staff Member laughed and said good luck getting your refund... Sealed the deal for me to never return again 🤒
I went in yesterday before noon and bought a freezer to have delivered next week. They double checked twice while I was there to verify they had the item at the warehouse. I received a call at 4:30 to tell me they in fact did not have the item and it would be at least 6 weeks, probably longer before they got any more in. Pete did not offer a refund only that he would change our delivery for June 1st to keep us on the list. No idea why when he said the item wouldnt be in until 6/18 at the earliest. That there might be something else they could supply to replace that item. He would call us as soon as he could help us. I was not happy letting them keep $1000 of my money for 6+ weeks with nothing to show for it and no guarantee of when delivery would be so we went in the next day. No offers of help were made other than to say they could cancel the order and it would take 7-14 business days to get our money back. What a sham!!!! The service people have always been great but the inside staff are just a disappointment. They just want your money, dont care how they get it and dont care about what happens after they do! Please stay away from Appliance World.Edit 7/10/20:Thanks for your apology. However, the fact remains that despite your nationwide shortage of appliances, your salesman couldnt count to one on his inventory and said we would have one. Tell us straight up before taking our money and it wouldnt be an issue. You know how long it took to get our money back from you? After countless calls and weeks of waiting. You lost a potential customer for life.
Spent the better part of 3 hours trying to reach the service dept by the automated call system. Used the online chat function and asked about the part I needed and got a text from them that said I needed to call the store. Thirty more minutes stuck in the automated system with no answer. 0 stars if I could.Edit... My wife has been stuck in the automated system now for almost an hour and disconnected several times. Called sales instead, mind you its a small store, answered on the first ring, told her they couldnt help her and transferrred her to the service dept, now on hold again going on another hour.Second edit... Thank you for your obvious concern, I also contacted my phone carrier!?!?! I was texted a price 26 hours after the initial inquiry for $44.95 for a dryer drive belt that I bought on Amazon for $13. You dont have phone carrier problems, you have people problems!
I contacted DVD to come out and repair my dryer, the technician they sent to my home was very disrespectful and rude. When I asked him about his attitude he told me that HE DID NOT GIVE A F. Afterthe bill was payed he threw the receipt to me. I have since then contacted the office over four times spoken to two different representatives that assured me that I would speak with a manager today. I have as of yet not received a phone call from this company. I would not advise anyone to seek services from DVD.
The repairman came out just before my doctors appointment so I had to leave him here with my companion who was here. The service told his company that the door was fixed after waiting 10 days for a service date he came in said he fixed the door when he did NOT…I arrived home the door was not fixed charged $128 when the service call is supposed to be 64 and nothing was itemized in addition to that I called and reported to them that I waited 10 days for a service call and the item was not fixed and all she did was argue with me and said we don’t have another date for another seven days!! After waiting for 10 days for that service date instead of prioritizing his wrong doing they’ve asked me to wait another seven days until he was available they have the worst customer service I have ever experience!!! He was the worst servicemen and the worst customer service you can ever imagine …In addition to that she refused to let me speak to a supervisor imagine that… I would strongly recommend another service for your appliance!!!
My wife bought a dishwasher through here and also paid to have it delivered and installed. It was supposed to be installed on Friday but because of part issues, it was pushed to Tuesday. Upon installation, it was found that the electrical wire was too short for the new unit. They advised me to call an electrician. I did, and they fixed the issue on Wednesday. I am now at $150 for the delivery and installation and $150 for the electrical fix. When I called DVD to finish the installation, they told me it would be another $25 to come back out and not until Saturday. I lost it at that point. This is a 10 minute finish up for an installation that I paid for and was not completed. The scheduler told me he would talk to his manager the next day. What a brush off! I am currently awaiting finish up and answers.
I ordered a new control board for our Maytag refrigerator from here vs. online in order to support a local retailer. The board came in 1 week late with superficial damage packaged only in bubble wrap - no anti-static packaging present. Turns out the board was not our issue, but returns are not accepted here on electronics, even for parts not installed or with a restocking fee. I strongly recommend ordering online for your parts to save money and to receive better customer service.
Worst experience of our entire life. Never ever use this company. Wanted to shop local. Ordered all of my appliances well in advance for my kitchen remodel. Salesman called and told me all my appliances were in and we can schedule installations. Time came to install a few of the appliances and received a call that dishwasher was missing. Then received another call when it was time to install my oven and it was all of a sudden missing. They gave my appliances to somebody else. Now they’re telling me it will be December. Water dispenser leaked in my brand new fridge. They sent a tech out and he said it would always leak because we have a water softener.Are you kidding me??? Thanksgiving plans ruined at my house in our new kitchen. I received a reply from the owner which is a LIE. The salesman called and told me EVERYTHING was in and scheduled installations. I even picked up one of the special order items for my cabinet make once he told me that.
UPDATE ON PREVIOUS POST: I called them again and they came out to look at the dishwasher again(. They decided that it would be covered under warranty and repaired the dishwasher at no charge. They did a good repair job. Rough start but they came through in the end. Many relatives have also bought from them and said they have had no issues and were pleased with their service. Based on final resolution I could recommend them.ORIGINAL POST: My Father bought a GE dishwasher & Samsung refrigerator from Dick Van Dyke. Dishwasher was installed, but the top panel broke after 18 months. (Cheap plastic tabs) Even though they were required to buy the extended warranty, Dick Van Dykes would not cover the breakage saying it was cosmetic (panel was falling off) and wanted to charge $228 for the replacement part.. (Same part sells for $106 online) They also charged the normal $35 service fee to look at it. They put white duct tape on the panel and glued it which caused the buttons to be recessed below the control panel and the duct tape was showing outside in the front of the unit.The refrigerator has worked well. For initial delivery they sent one delivery person who had problems bringing it in the door - would suggest they send 2 people in future to make it easier .Decent service initially but could not recommend due to the lack of warranty service under extended warranty. Will update post after we call them again.
Finally fixed :) Have been waiting for over 2 months for them to fix my fridge. They never called us back after two people promised a same day return call with information on progress. Also ordered wrong part initially. No point in paying for $200 warranty when we purchased. Very disappointed.
Over all we had a very good experience. Gary Z at Dick Van Dyck in Springfield was a great salesman to work with very helpful on the 3 pieces we bought. Nice delivery men we are pleased with all of our pieces. The warranty sold us. We would recommend to family and friends.
Originally I was displeased with the process. They promised delivery date had past and my dishwasher was still not in my home, and I was frustrated. However, after I called they resolved it immediately and the installer was extremely pleasant. He worked well past his normal hours to make sure it was working by the time he left. So overall it was a good experience, especially because the dishwasher is working great as of now!
A+ for face to face customer service. We love the 10 year warranty. We have 4 appliances from Dick Van Dyke. They are quite popular, so sometimes scheduling a service call can be difficult, but very recently, one of the salesmen really went above and beyond before Christmas to try to get our microwave installed before we hosted Christmas dinner, and I sure appreciate it. Were repeat customers, so let that speak for itself.
Second time in 6 months we received poor installation service. First on a dishwasher that they failed to check existing hoses after they said they would and they went ahead and re-installed a worn hose that leaked and caused water damage. Today after installing a new stove they drilled a screw up through our kitchen floor from the basement and just left it! There won’t be a third time. Horrible service and obviously they just don’t care!! If I could have given them 0 stars I would have.
Great service both with Salesman and with installation crews. Salesman was very knowledgeable, did not try to over-sale, and gave honest and knowledgeable information on appliances. Installation crews were virtuous, professional, cleaned up all debris and were very efficient. Dick Van Dyke appliances will definitely be recommended to friends and family! Well done Dick Van Dyke!!!!
We had a wonderful experience with this company. It began with a service call to determine the problem with our washing machine. Serviceman Matt could not have been more helpful. He said he could fix the malfunction but suggested we might consider a new machine. We visited the store and found that the machine suggested by Matt was on sale and could be installed the next day. Mr. Carrington, the installer, installed our washer the next day. He was polite, helpful and informative. I found our entire experience with DIckVanDyke to be exceptional. These people know how to run a business. Since that day, I have asked three different friends who had used Dick Van Duke about their experience. To a person they confirmed that Dick Van Dyke was easy to do business with and felt that they were the best service in town.
Just had the door switch replace on my older GE dryer. Cost me a $124. About a month ago, I had the heating unit replaced in it. That cost less than $70 with another company who was here longer. Thats not what really upset me. Business is business. The other guy was booked for another week. Ill pay the extra but I see a charge for fuel. So not only am I paying more than I should be but now Im also covering the companys overhead.Reply to Dick van Dykes response -So yes, I did pay your estimated cost. Only because (like i said above) The good Repair company was booked a week further out than you (hmm... wonder why?) I sure didnt know i was paying your gasoline bill. I would have picked him up if i wouldve known. Cost of overhead is the responsibility of the company. I find it to be a corrupt business practice to push the cost onto your customers. furthermore, your response avoiding the subject says everything i need to know the next time i need a person for a repair
Husband and I went in today (election day) because we are looking to purchase a new washer and dryer and I suggested we try local store before a big chain There was a gentle man that was finishing up with a customer and I thought he would come to us.A lady and her child came in and he went to them before even speaking to us. Needless to say we walked out immediately.
This is our second purchase of a large appliance at Dick Van Dyke in the last few months. Both experiences have been excellent. I feel like their advice is generally very good as far as what is the most reliable brand of each appliance, so it takes less research on my part and less stress in the store. Service is excellent.
2 separate bad experiences!! Avoid Van Dyke Appliance World. They are frauds! 1st time purchased dishwasher. After install guy left, it wasnt operating correctly. I called and they tried charging another service call. Ended up not charging and they csme back out and fixed their mistake.Now I have a problem with the timer on my clothes dryer. After timer installed, the dryer would not shut off, repairman came back out and fixed that problem, now dryer will shut off, but when it shuts off clothes are dry but terribly wrinkled. Called for service and they told me that they will charge me $39 service charge because it is just over the 30 days from the other service charge, so trying to stick me with additional service charge. If they would have followed up in a timely manner, this problem would have been determined several days ago. Will no longer purchase anything from an unethical ripoff company with poor technical service and terrible customer service.
Bought a washer and dryer from them over a year ago . Within the first week we called them out to repair the dryer which was broken. The control board was replaced and the dryer was fixed .About one month later the dryer belt broke again , we called and they replaced the belt. Another month goes by and the belt breaks again. At this point I demand that they figure out why the dryer is breaking belts and fix the problem and not just keep replacing the belts . The technician said let’s put another belt on and see what happens and if it breaks again we will replace all the rollers in the dryer . One month later the belt breaks again .Dick Van Dyke refuses to work on the machine , Brad the technician was extremely rude to my wife and advise her she needs to change her ways. I called Springfield corporate store advised them of the issue and they agreed to fix the dryer. Almost one month to the date my dryer still broke and I’m still waiting on parts . I called the manufacture advised them of the situation and they set up service with another company. They have ordered the parts and receive the parts in two days. I would strongly advise you to stay away from Dick Van Dyke they will only cover your machine under factory warranty. There are 5/10 year free warranty is a joke and their technicians especially Brad are rude and disrespectful.
I am disappointed not only in the service recieved but also by how it was handled by management. My husband gave a rating on the appliances purchased for our entire home (which I cant comment on or I wouldnt be taking the time to write this review) and they quickly pointed out the things we were lacking, such as we did not have steps installed to bring the refrigerator in which we accept, however, there has been no ownership of their mistakes and responsibility. Our salesman no longer has employment at this establishment, therefore since no one was missing out on a commission, they didnt seem to care. Furthermore, the manager stated he had only started in that position recently so he didnt know anything about it. They claim there were no water lines for a dishwasher but they were pointed out to the install tech, so we made a decision to hire our plumber to install the appliance instead of someone who cannot recognize a water line. The apology given was, I am sorry you feel that way. It was weeks after the install was completed by a service technician, that we know personally, the company reached out to us and offered us a small refund. I cannot give enough props to the tech that finished the install job, our contractors, plumbers, and electricians that finished the job.
Ordered a microwave through them. Wasnt one that they kept on hand regularly. After 4 weeks, it looked like they werent going to be able to get it from the manufacturer. So I cancelled the order and was told to expect a refund check in the mail within 7-10 business days. 21 business days later, I call asking about my refund. It never was processed so I was told its be another 7-10 business days as theyd process it and send it to me. At this point, I let them know Id be in the store 3 days later to pick it up. When I arrived at the store, all I got were lame apologies and told the check had already been mailed.Excuses, excuses, excuses is all Ive gotten from them. Its a 21st Century business being run on a 20th Century business model. No wonder the store is empty when I drive by.
We ordered and paid for a fridge from them June 19th and paid for them to take our old one with it. The fridge was supposed to come in around the second week of July. They called around July 11th saying it didnt come on their truck like it was supposed to. They asked if we wanted to wait or see if they have something in stock they could bring the next day. I told them if they have something in stock same price and size Ill take it, dont care what it looks like.They call back the next day saying I have a fridge coming the following morning between 6&11 am. That they would call me 30 min before delivery. No word. Waited most of the day, then called them to find out they accidentally called and we dont have a delivery coming, that theyre still looking for a replacement. Never heard from them again. So I call them yesterday asking whats up, wheres my fridge? the one I have is barely working at this point. Theyre all like oh we have it here, but the delivery date is messed up and has an error so we dont know when we can get it to you ( never bothered to call to let us know it was in)... Said they would call back and let me know. And here I am still waiting. No fridge. The one we have is messed up, leaking water all over everything. Ive called multiple times today to be told they have it, then said they dont know if they have it, trying to push the delivery date to August 6th, I told them thats not acceptable weve already been waiting over a month and my fridge is barely working, I have 6 kids and need a functioning fridge. So he says he will try to get it setup for tomorrow and here it is after 4pm and still no word. This place is trash. Do not waste your time with them.Edit: it was definitely not delivered quickly after you guys received it. It was delivered quickly after I left a bad review and the management from your Champaign location stepped in and took care of it.So, thank you to the Champaign store for stepping in when the Decatur store was unable to properly run their business.
We had problems with our refrigerator we purchased from Dick Vandyke. Everyone from the service Tech to Corporate was professional and their dedication to customer service fantastic. Dick Van Dyke replaced our old refrigerator with a brand new better model at no charge. Thank you Dick Van Dyke for making our Christmas truly Blessed.
Needed a new refrigerator; started at Lowes for benchmark, but wanted to buy local so went to DVD. They matched Lowes sale price and delivery/set-up policy. Personable, helpful salesman Michael found my preferred model, ordered color we wanted and promised delivery in a week. They called to verify on Thursday and delivered on Friday without a hitch.
Worst experience ever. Do NOT purchase appliances here and learn from my mistake! They installed a refrigerator incorrectly and now I have thousands of dollars in water damage and they wont pay up. They were rude to me on the phone and I had to get a lawyer involved. Insurance claims it was clearly DVDs mistake. I have since heard many of the same stories and regret purchasing from them. Horrible customer service. STAY AWAY! If I could give no stars I would. They dont deserve any!
Waited 5 says for repair technician for a GE Profile fridge that quit working. He came out, looked at the control board and nothing else. Did not test the board or any other fridge components. Stated there is not much to these appliances and most likely cause is a faulty $700 control board. Upon googling, this is the least likely cause so I am a little uncomfortable buying a $700 board that I cannot return if that doesnt fix the problem. And I had to pay $60 for the tech to do absolutely nothing.
Our 2 year old, $2000 refrigerator broke, the freezer was only as cold as the refrigerator portion of the unit. We called Dick Van Dyke for repair and after 6 weeks, 4 appointments and $320, we have been left with not only a broken freezer, but now a broken fridge as well. It is very disappointing that we paid hundreds of dollars (and lost $150 in groceries) to have them break it even further. We were offered store credit for some of our costs, but do not wish to buy an appliance from a company that does not stand behind their services. I would not recommend using this company for appliance repair as they are not honest about whether they are capable of fixing something, but rather break your appliance even worse than it was.
I received my appliances as promised one day late but paid for them to deliver my refrigerator to rental house and the installer tore up my renters couch and they refused to pay for it even though I witnessed him doing it. Very poor customer service after I had paid for new stove, refrigerator, and microwave. Would not recommend in future.
Worst experience I could have imagined, do not buy anything from this place. Their warranty is a joke, the refrigerator has had 12 parts replaced in 15 months. They refuse to replace it. They are the worst customer service people I have ever had to deal with. I had to replace my new wood floor because the ice maker leaked, for months and we did not no it. The plate rusted on the bottom and they say we have to have so many parts replaced with in a 1 yr period, but if its the same part that does not count.... what a joke, they dented my stainless door, scratched my floor, NO apology, just more BS.
Good prices & service. 11/20/19: I have heard several comments that this place is no longer the trustworthy, honest, ethical appliance repair place it use to be. If that is so, call Affordable Appliance (grouchy-possibly due to pulled shoulder-but honest) or use appliance place at corner of MLK & Eldorado. Have been told they have new appliances now.
Had a repairman visit for a very known issue on a Samsung refrigerator ice maker. Guy showed up, was here two minutes, and said he had to order the ice maker parts. So you basically wasted my time for that visit. You should have known when you looked up my refrigerator purchase that Samsung had a recall for the exact problem Im having. Why show up without the parts?
I wouldnt go there if they gave away free appliances. The customer service is terrible. Bought a whole house of appliances. They didnt install right had to pay contracters and plumber to do it correctly. Never received an apology or my install fee. Highly dont recommend at all.
Dick Van Dyke Appliance world has the absolute WORST customer service in the Appliance business. Our Ice maker; Newer Samsung- quit working. Called Dick.V.Dyke on 1-7-19 to schedule a service appt. Asked if the service tech might be able to bring the part if I provided a (part/model #), in order to save additional trips... No we can’t do that blah blah.... ok fine (week Goes by)4 hour window on 1-11-19 and of course they get there at the very end of the time scheduled.... Sure enough, I need an ice maker... (duh) “Get it ordered, i would like it fixed...” Will call tomorrow with an estimate; ok fine.... 3 days later, heard nothing... I call D.V.D. Where’s my estimate? Well have him call you... 2 more days... nothing..... Call D.v.D - Where’s my estimate??? Sorry well have him call you... Tech calls -heres your total... Ok great - get it ordered...... (week later) Your parts in can we come fix it... Hell yes i would love some ICE.... heres your 4 hour window;Repair day comes-(shows up 5 min after the 4 hour window past, so Ive worn out my calm..) ----- Wrong part.... Not even close... Oh so so Sorry... We will re-order... (another week goes by)(2-5-18) NEXT scheduled repair day..... 4-hour window (4-7 pm) sure no problem id be happy to waste another evening waiting around for D.v.D to come and fix my fridge... Sure enough 6:36 phone rings- on the way, be there in 30!... Sure enough right @7:05pm - DvD is on the job.... working away to fix my ice maker.... 30 minutes later_______ umm Sir, ?? yeah ? “this part is manufactured incorrect, the holes are not threaded....” WTH, can your parts department Not open a freaking box and make sure its ok before scheduling the appt?? 4 trips LATER still no ice maker;D.v.D. calls me; not even an apology, to try and make this right! I am Told that the asst supervisor makes these FINAL decisions. They feel that theyve done Everything to rectify me wasting 16+ hours of my time, for an ice maker repair... Well alright then…Here is what I can Tell all of you; Take my advice!! (still no ICE…)Save your own time and money, dont do business with DICK VAN DYKE... Terrible Experience i purchased a very expensive washer and dryer set and when I asked them to come out to make repairs they were rude and told me I would have to pay $59 just for them coming out even if they couldnt find the problem i dont recommend anyone purchasing anything from them
Not a real bad place, but not as good as advertised. I felted manipulated by the salesman Pete when he gave selective competitive prices from other stores. Walmart was not listed and I found they were way much lower priced. I know Walmart is crazy with prices but Dick Van Dyke shouldnt make claim they will beat others!
Pete explained all the features of the freezer I purchased and why buying from DVD was a better choice over Lowes, which was where I was going to buy. I felt comfortable dealing with Pete. Pete even helped load the freezer. Pete was a big part of my decision to buy from DVD.
WARNING DO NOT BUY FROMDICK VAN DYKESwife and I purchased washer and dryer in march of this year installed both stacked, was told they was going to replace both front doors and boot seal on washer. service guys leave paper in washer everywhere inside and in dispenser, did not use a cord clamp, water hose leaks that we purchased through them still leaks was told that it will take 5 days to just fix water leak only, wash and dryer both are loud and rattles ruff still nothing to this day as of June 25th 2016 nothing has been done. the brand we purchased is a Electrolux brand.Service person calls says its going to cast 65.00 to come out here to fix, even if they did not install it correctly when we purchased it, so what they mean is they do not install properly so they can sucks more money out of you.we have a water pan that is under the washer and water hose leaks down under the pan, dryer hose is horrible we purchased from them aswell ripped but they used it anyway leaks.what a JOKE for SERVICE.CLEAN HOUSE GET RID OF LAZY WORTHLESS PEOPLE THAT DONT DO THEYRE JOB.HIRE PEOPLE THAT TAKE PRIDE IN WHAT THEY DO.

Very helpful and patient with my concerns and problems.I called in and asked to talk to a manager and the manager I spoke to her name was DEE and I explained about a part issue I was having and she was completely patient and kind to my concerns and helped me fix my issue! It was all very fast and easy!

2022-04-16Needed 3 new appliances. Used the website to choose the models we wanted to look at. Visited the store in Decatur. We were greeted as soon as we walked in. Unfortunately some of the models we wanted were not displayed and their availability would not fit our need. Curt recommended GE and those fit our need. They all came with the free 5/10 year warranty. Our experience was great! One thing we learned, if you pay cash you can ask for their cash discount. We will definitely buy from them if we have other appliance needs!!

2022-04-09Their warranty is amazing. However, it covers if it can be fixed. If it is none repairable they will only pro-rate the warranty. My GE profile fridge is 17 months old and the ice maker stopped working and cannot be repaired. Since it is over 12 month old they will not replace in full. So the $3,896 fridge is now prorated worth of $2,678. Which we have to pay the difference plus a $95 delivery charge. I still believe GE profile is the best brand but disappointed in paying the difference.

2022-06-25Excellent customer service from Curt! Couldnt have asked for a better salesman. No pressure, just answered questions and informed us of everything we needed to know. 100% recommend coming here and asking for him. We spent a good amount of time in there (3+ hours) and it was full of indecisiveness but he didnt care and was there for us for anything and everything.

2022-01-06We purchased multiple appliances a couple of years ago from this company, he has been a headache to deal with them from day 1. A couple of weeks ago our dishwasher stopped working so we called for someone to come take a look at it. They couldnt come for a couple of weeks and when they did come, the guy told my husband and I that he was unable to repair the problem due to how our flooring was laid. We explained to him the there was a hole cut just for the cord to be fed into, but he stated that was something that he would not try to do. He asked for his $79 service call fee and left. My husband went and bought the correct cord and had it fixed in less than 30 minutes. It was as easy fix that they were NOT WILLING to do anything about. Total waste of time and money

2022-01-12I purchased two complete sets of appliances for two kitchens. The service was terrible and installation turned I to a nightmare that still hasn’t ended. The hood I bought was missing the top piece and they promised me that it would be in shortly and it would be no problem it is now going on three months later I still don’t have the piece for the hood when I called them they promised to call me back but I never hear from them when I go into the store they told me they will get to me but nothing ever happens.When they installed my microwave they broke the mounting rack so they had to order a new one two months later they contacted me to tell me they had ordered the wrong parts I’m still waiting for my microwave to be mounted correctly I couldn’t even use my microwave during the holidays.When they installed the two dishwashers they left a piece hanging down on the front of both of them I had to have a independent contractor fix it and install it correctly.The store manager Jeff is a real piece of work and trust me you never want to have to deal with him. I wouldn’t recommend them to my worst enemy do yourself a favor buy your appliances elsewhere from somebody who genuinely cares!

2021-09-08Poor customer service. They do not care about actual people at all. Ordered four appliances and ended up canceling two of them (after multiple delays) because a different store was able to get them to us within a week. Found out they did not even file our refund after I called back two weeks later (the time they said the money would be back in my account) when I still had not received my money. They lied to us multiple times about the refund being done and strung us along. They are quick to take your money but dont like to give it back. Finally received our money but it was a painful process. They also messed up our delivery dates twice. They would tell me a date it would be delivered but when I would call the day before, tell me that they didnt have me down for that day. I will never go back and will not recommend them to anyone.

2021-09-20Jeff showed me the difference between the 2 stoves I was looking into. He did an awesome job. Gave me advice on the hookup. The reasoning they did not get 5 stars was the warranty that is free turned out to be free for only certain appliances. Not the one I got which would of cost $200 for that warranty.. I will only go there now for all appliance purchases oherwise!
