We live out of state and needed to find a place to celebrate my father in law’s 90th birthday, with 14 people attending. The staff at Diamond’s were very friendly, the food was delicious and priced reasonably, and the service was great. I can see why my father in law loves this restaurant. Thank you.

Waitress new to waitressingSlightly nervous but not any particular problemShe was attentiveDont expect to be impressed by the salad or bacon cheese soup, as the salad was likely bagged, chopped lettuce, small single piece of cucumber and tomato. Soup had very little cheese but fair amount of bacon.My half chicken white meat only was cooked perfectly and juicy. Crust was ideal.He had a steak fajita roll (tortilla wrap). Seemed to like it and fries were not fresh cut but on point.Overall, good experience.
Open early, perfect omelettes, friendly service and hot coffee. Everything I need to start the day. I will return every chance I get. Today had the Greek omelette with tomatoes and side of sausage. Delicious.
Please don’t get the seafood Alfredo. It was watery and bland. No Alfredo taste whatsoever. My boyfriend got the fried chicken and that was decent but eh. Deserts looked good though!
Staff was extremely friendly and the food was absolutely fantastic. Id recommend this place for a get together or just a nice dinner for couples that dont wanna spend a rather large amount of money.

Went on a second visit 5-4-2022 around 6:45-7:00 let me say chicken strips are really good but this night i ordered two omelets hashbrown pancakes the pancakes being a place like diamonds i figured they would not taste bland the omelets were more of scrambled eggs folded over in one big clump u know the omelet u make for ur parents or slef at age 10 my hashbrown well done were still a bit al dente very disappointed i was pretty much done on eating out this was nail in the coffin next time i want scrambled eggs i will order them if i eat out again very disappointed they do have large portions but i like good tasting food they do have high rating but i just dont shovel food in my mouth and eat with big eyes

Diamonds is a great place to eat, they have great food and delicious homemade desserts. The service is amazing. The servers and owners always strive to give the best service. They are ALL very friendly and treat you like family. This is a great place to drop in and grab a quick bite, or to meet family or friends to eat and catch up. Diamonds has a great menu with a wide variety of choices, and always have a good selection of daily specials. Diamonds is the best choice for the whole family, young and old. I came in at 11am and ordered breakfast. Loved seeing that you can get breakfast All Day. I had 3 eggs, hashbrowns, bacon and toast. Everything was cooked Perfectly. Waitress was Awesome!!Food came quick. All Staff was wearing masks and place was very clean. In my opinion I dont think anyone should complain about this Restaurant. I noticed there was 1 person that did🤔
Too hungry for pics. Called in order and picked up. Friday night always packed with cars and people. Worth it!This visit I ordered cheeseburger, fries, and I chose salad. 🍔 was BIG! I forgot Friday clam chowder. I ❤ ❤ ❤ their soups.
I really love the service there the waitresses and waiters are always checking on you to make sure you have everything that you need or if you need other things.
Best Mexican in CU. Food is full of flavor and the service is amazing.They are located in the old Milos restaurant. If you have not tried their food youve got to make it a destination point. It beats the other popular Mexican restaurants in CU.

Diamonds treated us pretty well tonight. I have a 6 year old with food allergies (egg, dairy, and sesame) and a very picky 4 year old. The 6 year old was able to have the spaghetti from the kids menu. I did not let her have the garlic bread or parmesan (thankfully served on the side). My 4 year old had the Mickey pancake with bacon, which she really enjoyed. She asked if she could have strawberries + whipped cream, so I asked our server. I posted a pic of what she received and she loved it!!! We will keep coming back when we visit Decatur.

My family and I went here on Christmas Eve for breakfast and I have to say it was the best Christmas Eve breakfast Ive had in 42 years (All my Life)!!!!Great Coffee! Great Omelettes! Great Pancakes! Great Toast and Hash Browns! Great Prices!!! Great Service overall!!!Parking was the only reason why Its not 5 stars!!!! We Are definitely going back... We might even make it a new tradition.....IT WAS THAT GOOD!!!!

Seated immediately! The atmosphere and decor of the restaurant was wonderful. I had the Homemade Meatloaf and Gravy, a salad, mixed veggies and hash browns. The meal was delicious! My drink was never empty- server was VERY attentive!
There is currently still a mask mandate in place and you wouldnt know it at this place! Severs, patrons, you name it. WONT be back due to this. Extensive menu, good service, food was okay, but nothing great. Also, would have expected more reasonable prices. Desserts in the case appeared homemade and tasty, but didnt try any as didnt want to stay any longer due to lack of masks and prices. Other options in town worth exploring. Sorry Diamonds, you were more a lump of coal to us.

Our food was absolutely delicious. They have an impressive menu, lots of great choices. Service was prompt, too. But the most memorable thing about dining here was the taste of our dishes. Amazing flavor and not over salted. They are well worth the drive off the highway.

Food was just so-so. The pie was delicious and service was great. The chili was bland and odd colored. The lasagna had a weird creamy American cheese flavor that was off putting, the red sauce saved it. Dinner salad consisted of one slice tomato, one cucumber slice and 2 cups shredded lettuce, french dressing was good.

The food was delicious and reasonably priced. Good sized portions as well. They also let me bring my emotional support animal, which means alot. I can actually enjoy a meal without an anxiety attack. Thank you all for a fantastic dining experience! Also our waitress was amazing 👏

Service was good. I was a little disappointed with the chicken fried steak. It was a pre-breaded frozen patty that was deep fried. Not homemade like Id hoped. On the plus side, it was topped with white gravy that was really tasty. The soup was really good too

Good diner food. At 5:00 on a Saturday, my wife and I, both in our 50’s, were among the youngest in the place. All of the older folks knew each other, and all of the staff knew them, which added to the homey feel of the place. Except for the one old geezer who went full Biden and started yelling, “Hey, pretty girl!” at every female in the place, regardless of age (including my wife), and wanting them to come sit on his lap. Not cool.Even so, the gyros and chicken fried steak were very good. I would go back, just maybe at a different time.
Usually the food and service is great. Tonight, not so much. Food was horrible and service sucked. You order a salad its common sense you need dressing.
You will be greeted fast and friendly. Glasses stay full, soups, salads fly out. Food is hot, fresh, and lots of homemade dishes!! Pies are made in house.

Today was the first time I had ever been to Diamonds and I was pleasantly surprised. The food was good but the service was outstanding! After going to other restaurants suffering from being short staffed, this place was well staffed with such friendly, efficient people, it was a great experience. My lack of five stars is only because of the insufficient parking.

Ate breakfast here. Surrounding area is a little run down but this restaurant was a great find! Very clean! The staff was very friendly and always available with coffee. The menu had a lot of breakfast options! Our eggs and hashbrowns were delicious!!! The pies in the case looked Delicious!!!! The waitress said they were homemade!!! Need to come to try a piece of pie!!!
Not an enjoyable meal at all! 1. Our waitress heard my grandson start crying and her face expression was in total discuss by it!!!! 2. Asked for over easy eggs and got 1 over cooked and 1 poked and not over easy!!!! 3. Asked for an egg omelette with just spinach,chicken and cheese but instead I got bell peppers in it and they werent chopped up at all!!! 4. All the pancakes were disgusting! Under and over cooked!!!!! None of my family were pleased with our meal or customer service this morning!!!! I wouldnt recommend this restaurant to anyone!!! They need a no star button!!!!!
We used to eat here all the time when we lived in Decatur. Most of their food is really good. They just have so much to choose from it takes me forever to decide. That is also the downside. With such a diverse menu available all the time I feel the quality of some of the food suffers as a result. Their deserts are some of the best youll find in Decatur. My wife drove 20 minutes out of her way for a slice of their cheesecake from here the other day.

Server was not very friendly and she had long fake nails (germ collectors) which is gross when it comes to food service. I can’t believe they allow it. Another server cashed us out and also wasn’t friendly. Probably won’t be back for a while.
Good food with big portions. The crepes weread big as the plate! Everything tasted amazing and the inside is very beautifully decorated. The waiters were very attentive without being overbearing. A+

Food was good, service wasnt bad. The only thing that bothered me was the wait staff only brings coffee to their own tables. Seems kind of odd that you walk by someone with an empty cup both ways to get to your table to fill them and back to put the coffee away
It had been a while since I had been to Diamonds. For starters, the remodeling is terrific. Good choices all around. Same friendly staff (I recognized several) and most importantly, the food was terrific! As always. I will be back again soon.

Dining here is good if you eat in, because you can see what you order, and the wait staff is nice. But, DONT do take out or delivery services because, for me, there are errors every time, items missing, etc. And, dont order meatloaf. I dont think they know what meatloaf is. Its just gravy covered Salisbury steak. Disappointing. Cant give it 5 stars, because of the errors everytime.

We were at a dr appt in Bloomington, but because we got out before lunchtime, decided to stop in Decatur to eat on the way home. I read some really good reviews about Diamonds Family Restaurant so we thought wed try it. It was one of the top restaurants in Decatur. Im not sure who wrote these reviews, but the food was not very good. We wont be returning in the future. I had the vegetable stir fry because I wanted something healthy. There werent many healthy options on the menu. First, I got a salad. It was just shredded, dry lettuce with a little bite of tomato and a little bite of cucumber. I ate the 2 bites of veggies, a couple of bites of the awful shredded lettuce, and left the rest. My stir fry wasnt even edible and Im not a picky eater. I really will eat just about anything. The sauce was terrible and the vegetables on the stir fry i believe were previously frozen or canned...couldnt tell. Even the coffee was cold and watered down. My husband had some cheddar cheese soup that looked and tasted like chicken broth with cornstarch for thickening. His sandwich didnt look very good, and I usually sneak his fries, but I only could choke down one. It tasted like it was fried in old, nasty grease. Even the atmosphere was blah. If you like cheap, processed and frozen diner food, this is the place for you. I am not picky at all, but this restaurant is on the list of one of the worst I have been to. I dont understand the raving reviews. They must not be honestly written. There are other good restaurants in Decatur. Stick with the chains like Olive Garden, Panera, etc. I was pretty disappointed that we didnt eat at a place in Bloomington instead. This restaurant is in the business of making poor food for a profit. Im in the business of finding a decent restaurant with relatively healthy, good food. This is an honestly written review about a diner that could do better. I just want people who read reviews to hear the truth. Maybe okay if your bar is set very low.

Great little place on Oakland. We visited here twice during or 10 day stay at my brothers. Once for breakfast and once for lunch. Both times we had a great meal and good service.
When I went in the restaurant our seats weren’t wiped down, very dirty. There was nasty stuff in my drink and on the cup, it didn’t even look like the cups were washed down. The workers were very kind but the food did not match the kindness if that makes sense lol. But there was hair in my ranch dressing and stuff on my plate. I’m in the car leaving the restaurant right now feeling sick. This is during corona time btw.

Staff was very attentive, always looking and asking if you have any needs. The food was abundant, no reason anyone should leave hungry. The public shows that they support the establishment. They could have more choices for smaller fare, people that arent interested in filling up with a full plate. The parking can be limited at prime eating times, youd be better off showing up a little early or late to ensure convenient parking.

Called into the store earlier in the day asking if I can place an order for pickup. Guy that answered the phone was rude and said No. then I asked when they opened so I can come in and the guy said “we’re open now.” So that whole interaction didn’t make sense… how are you open but don’t accept pick ups? I was t asking to deliver I asked to pick it up. Decided to give them another shot and come in after work for dinner, time online says they close at 9:30, walked in at 8:45 and they said “we’re closed” so I guess they DONT want business. That’s fine I’m new in town and heard good things about them but after all these tries to get a simple meal and they ruined it. I will never call or step foot in this place EVER AGAIN.
Food was as great as weve been hearing about, especially the omelets! Even early-mid afternoon on Sunday, staff & management were hustling around to please their customers... with a God Bless as the proverbial cherry on top...
Great family restaurant! Best fried chicken Ive had outside of the south. Very accommodating too, we had a huge group with a bunch of kids and were seated right away. They even brought out a hot dog cool for our 3 year old who refuses to eat warm food. Will definitely come back!

Weve eaten there several times. The servers have all been pleasant and efficient. The breakfast at Diamonds is as good as any in town. Any of our meals have been quite good. They make their ranch dressing in house and it is delicious! Prices are very reasonable. Its not a fancy place but its not loud like a lot of restaurants, its comfortable and clean.
Visiting my parents and went here for breakfast. Awesome! All the staff was friendly and smiling. Very attentative! Every few minutes coffee was filled, food was great too! Chicken fried steak skillet was delicious!! A ton of food and for $8.30 cant beat that price. Nice to eat in a restaurant and see staff working and want to be there! Keep it up!!
Very large selection of menu items, though one might say a bit too much. The service was quick relative to the amount of customers in the restaurant as the place was completely full during dinner time.
It was okay; I got the Monte Kristo sandwich and it did not come as listed on their menu. They served it on Rye instead of French bread and I didnt like it. Also the restaurant takes it a little overboard with their religiousness. Not everyone is Christian or wants to be blessed.

I had the Gyro with French fries and the green pepper soup. The Gyro had a lot of meat. The sauce was very good. The French fries might of been the best French fries Ive had at a restaurant. Soup was flavorful but lacking meat ... Lots of peppers though. Excellent service, we never had a glass get below half full.

Solid American and Greek fare. Seasoning is muted but it caters to an older crowd so thats to be expected - this doesnt mean the food is poorly cooked, everything is well cared for and you can tell that in the food. Get dessert to go when you visit (you wont have room after your meal and its very good). Service is always fast and friendly. My favorite time to eat here is breakfast.

I was starving after an outpatient procedure, and stopped for brunch. It was a nice place and the service was great! I ordered the spinach and feta omelette, well done hash browns and pancakes instead of toast. Every part was hot, yummy and generous portions! The feta cheese in the omelette was really fresh and flavorful. At the end of the meal, my husband and I used the restrooms. Both were clean and smelled fresh. Id definitely go back.If there was anything Id suggest to the owner or manager; theres glass dividers between some seating that could use cleaning. Also, a few of the hanging plants in the front dining area had some dust built up near the ceiling. Neither issue affected my food!!! 😀😊🙂
The food was very good and reasonably priced. Also, the wait staff and staff in general was one of the most attentive and timely I have ever experienced. We received our food in a matter of minutes after ordering during a fairly busy time. My coffee was always full and our waitress checked on us many times to ensure we were doing okay. Great place for a tasty meal!

The restaurant got a new chef. And it was noticeable. We did not have one complaint. The food, waiter evdrything was so enjoyable. If there was any negative it is that we live on the eastside of town and the restaurant is on the west side, but its really not that far, but its worth it.

This is the best place in Decatur and sorrounding areas, we go there about 3 times a week they take a very care of us, the place is clean their food is excelent, i love their Chicken Santorini they have it on special on Friday, my husband loves their breakfast and their homemade desserts, good job Diamonds

They have some of the best servers ever especially the girl named 🙏🏽TY🙏🏽She was the best server Ive ever had at any restaurant! I advise you when you go to diamonds family restaurant to ask for TY...you will have the best food and the best service ever at diamonds family restaurant... Ill start by saying best fries in town hands down. Me being from Chicago its hard for me to find places to eat down here that dont make me miss home eats but these guys nailed it with there fries for sure. Other then that the place was quite and clean.. I was a 1 top tonight so I didnt expect mind blowing customer service but my waitress was attentive and I did notice how much attention she placed on her other tables who in comparison needed the extra attention so with that said Ill rate my first visit a 4 star for food, atmosphere,and service.. next time I go I may be a little more critical but I will go none the less. Thank you guys and I will be seeing you soon.
Very nice family dining atmosphere. Food is good, service is excellent. Nothing fancy (they serve hamburger steak...not lobster) but everything is well prepared. Wonderful pies available for the holidays. Kind of a down home sort of Midwestern resturuaunt. Would certainly recommend. A good place to take the family on a budget for a pleasant night out or for a quick bite at lunch.

It really amazed me how nice the Waiter was so kind when a grumpy old lady threatened to slap him when she could not share a meal and receive the meal half price. Sometimes people do not want to understand what the social rules if eating out are. Yes, regardless of what unruly people do in public. Definitely visit

Family style cooking friendly staff moderately priced menu. Open for breakfast. Their coffee is much better than Starbucks! The only downside is they need a bigger parking lot.
Went for dinner celebrating our 43rd anniversary. They are in the habit of treating you like family. They have excellent staff, great food, good location. We came all the way out from Springfield to eat here, and well do it again!
I usually always get their catfish, its the best. I got the grilled salmon at my next visit. It was so dry and no flavor. I couldnt eat it because of how dry. Id say yes to catfish and NO TO THE SALMON!

Large menu. A little bit of everything for everyone. They also serve Breakfast all day. One thing definately worth a try would be their flaming Greek Cheese (Saganaki)!
My friend and i ordered a to go order when we entered the building and wemt up to the cashier my friend was told that she needed to go to the tables and find her own cream and splenda even after when we called and told them how many creams and splinda she needed . she had to bother a customer for the splinda . this is just plain unacceptable. The people who put her order together should have had it in the bag .! Also i had to ask for forks .plaim lazy cashier . the service had alot to be desire. So 1 star for service . the food however was excellent 5 stars for food
The food has always been very good here and the service excellent. Why only a 3star rating? The last time I was there my friend and I both had hair in our food. Im sorry but that is a deal breaker for me. Perhaps your kitchen staff should wear hairnets?
I love Diamonds. Never had a bad meal there. The guys do a great job making you feel welcome. Its my top favorite restaurant.
Tasteless biscuits and gravy. Sausage patties taste like the cheapest cut of meat you could possibly buy the only good thing was the glass of orange juice

Food is excellent. Its like home cooking. Services is the best. Everyone is really friendly. They always have a smile on their faces. The owners always are going around greeting everyone and asking if everything it ok. I recommend it to anyone and everyone that wants a great meal and great service.

The best place in Decatur andsurrounding areas, the actions speak for itself busy all the time, excellent family owned restaurant, fresh made food , homemade desserts, they are so busy that makes their inventory turn over so fast that you will get freshly cooked meal to your table at all times! The wait staff is top notch, you will be greeted by the host as soon as you enter the restaurant! Highly reccomend!
The service was great. I had the walleye. The flavor was rather bland. It didnt have a fish flavor but everything else was really good.
The menu is very large, which usually means subpar food, but not here! The food is good and the service is fantastic! We love coming Saturday mornings for breakfast. If theres a wait, it doesnt last long. One of our favorites!

I was unaware that when I paid my bill with my debit card that a tip for our server was automatically charged.. I handed our server a cash tip... I was not asked if I wanted to add a tip!!I am not happy at all!!
I have to wait for the fifth star. I have to take a photo of my plate. The have a habit of putting a raw green under the meat. That grosses me out. Other than that I have enjoyed all the food. The fried chicken, pork chops, fish, liver and onions, steak,and breakfasts are all great. The service is always great. I also love the 70s music in the background. Lets not forget dessert. Banana split, cakes, pies, and and cheesecakes. Yummy!!!

Very Friendly server and nice environment, but the country fried steak was definitely a frozen Patty and the gravy was most likely out of a can... Could be better with some home cooking in there... Im giving them 3 stars because of the outstanding service!

As we are sitting here in the restaurant I was very surprised that the waitress took my soup without asking if I was finished...i was,not... we ordered the whole catfish, my mom ordered it fried I ordered it grilled I am from outta state and I am not impressed.. what we received was 2 breaded pieces of fish . Nothing worth coming back for. The waitress never even offered to make it right.

Found this on the Web, when I pulled in and parked , I admit, I was a bit apprehensive. The food, I had the walleye, was absolutely delicious. I was most impressed with the atmosphere. The wait staff was so friendly and personable to every customer there. I will absolutely go again and recommend it to anyone.

Found a hair in my food, we had a party of 5, I tried to tell her discreetly as to not ruin everyones dinner & she made it very obvious. They offered me a desert(No Thanks appetite ruined)but never apologized or said anything...

2021-11-06Truly a hidden gem in Decatur!Our hotel receptionist recommended Diamonds when we asked about local eateries. We were not disappointed! The restaurant was busy when we arrived, but we were promptly seated by a friendly hostess. Our waitress, Mariah, was very friendly and personable, and made us feel welcome. We decided on the Shrimp Fettuccini Alfredo with a chocolate shake, the Ribeye steak, and fried Walleye filets. Each dinner came with a salad which was brought to us within a few minutes. Our dinners came right on time, as soon as we had finished our salads. The shrimp dish was creamy, hot and delicious. The pasta was perfectly cooked, the shrimp was tender and not overcooked, the Alfredo sauce was tasty. The chocolate milkshake was fabulous! Not too thick, but not runny either. The ribeye steak was cooked to order, and had good flavor and texture. The walleye filets were quite good, and included one extra! The side vegetable was cooked carrots, and they were done perfectly. The dessert selection display was incredible. Pies, cakes, etc. We opted for the chocolate cream pie, ordering two pieces between the three of us, not realizing how big they would be! We really would have only needed one! It was superb!An overall excellent experience, and would highly recommend. We will return for sure next time we visit Decatur!

2022-05-20Their primary customers seem to be the elderly, but I think thats great because its fairly quiet dining. The food comes out in really good portion sizes and in a fair amount of time. The wait staff is happy and attentive. Old people aside, Id totally go back. They have awesome biscuits and gravy!

2022-03-01Was in the area and looked around on Google maps to find a place to grab lunch with my boyfriend. Decided to try this place and was so pleased! The area was clean and neat looking. The waitresses were friendly and prompt. The food was delicious! I had the chicken tenders and my boyfriend had the gyro platter. My chicken was juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside. The batter was a wonderful golden brown. The fries were the same crispy and golden. My boyfriend said his gyro was good and very stuffed. The price on lunch was great too. Overall Im really glad we stopped in and even though I live about 45 minutes away, I might just make the trip here again for that chicken. Amazing!

2022-03-19We were just discussing this, we have never had a bad experience at this place. Tie was our waitress and she was phenomenal. Weve had her a few of the maybe 10 times weve been there, shes just phenomenal to say the least.Highly recommend diamonds, it has excellent food for any meal. We usually go for breakfast, but the one time we went for dinner, it was delicious as well.

2022-03-05Been awhile since Ive been there. Theyve remodeled and it looks great. Very busy place. Pick up orders and people coming in to eat. People were greeted and sat at a table quickly. Good food good service.
