Derick Dermatology is one of those places when you need to get into a new place they will take you immediately! We have never been to a more organized and prompt Dr’s office!
I went there in a panic. I was so worried because I could not understand why my skin was breaking out. The Dr was able to figure out what the diagnosis was and provided me with the proper cream! Thank you so much.
Beautiful clean offices. Went there for a vbeam treatment for broken blood vessels on my face after I had covid. The tech was kind and professional. I have had 2 treatments and so happy with results.

Typically a great place with great staff. Been coming here for years without issue. Today I was 13 minutes late due to travel traffic and I was denied per their 10 minute rule. Really? Its 15 minutes most other places. I even left work early. Outstanding customer relations in accommodating their loyal customers.
Ive had a great experience here. Yes... they are way more formal than some doctor offices, but with that you get finite, detailed care. Because of my deductible medication was very expensive.... not only did they find me an RX coupon, but they also went out of their way to find the cheapest place to apply the coupon for me.I really like this dermatologist, and I will continue to be a recurring patient! I feel safe and protected under their care, they genuinely hold an interest in top health and prevention!
Cari is absolutely wonderful! She is friendly, charismatic, courteous, all while being professional and the absolute best at her job. She is a true asset to Derrick Dermatology and is passionate about her profession. The office in Elgin was clean and all staff members were lovely, Cari just goes above and beyond. Great dermatology practice! Dr. Thompson is extremely thorough and knowledgeable. Everyone is friendly, professional, and accommodating. The pharmacy had my prescriptions ready in minutes at a better price than my regular pharmacy.

From registering with Eunice to updating my medical information with Sara and receiving treatment from Lucy Bohr PA-C, my experience at Derick Dermatology was excellent.! I waited less than five minutes in the waiting room and no longer than that in the exam room before the PA came in. During my visit , the personnel were courteous, and personable and definitely focused on me and my needs. Lucy remembered me from previous visits and performed my treatment with expertise, efficiency, and a high level of professionalism while making me feel comfortable during the entire process. I highly recommend Derick Dermatology for their patient centered approach, their efficiency, and especially for their high level of expertise in the practice of dermatology.
Cant say enough about Derick Dermatology! Warm, welcoming and professional. The front office and assistants are helpful and knowledgeable. Jenny is amazing. She takes her time with you and explained everything in a way that put me at ease and helped me understand each exam and procedure. She clearly enjoys what she does and excels at it.

I have been a patient of Derick Dermatology for almost two years and have always been happy with their services. Staff was very friendly and welcoming! Lucy and the assistant walked me through every detail of what we were doing. Most offices today have no music playing no TV, Derrick has them both. We wore are masks, and social distanced in the waiting room. The atmosphere made me feel much more comfortable. I highly recommend them to anyone especially those fearful during this time.
Extremely upset about how I have been treated. My son has a branchial cyst which will require surgery. Our ENT told us that accutane is going to interfere with surgery and healing asked us to reach out to our dermatologist. We see Dr Lucy in elgin I called her on Monday 10/26 left a voicemail no one returned my call. After my son got the ct results I called again on Friday I was on hold for 30 mins got shoved into voicemail. Called back again talked to Lacey in the Elgin office she advised that dr Lucy got my message and will call me back between patients. She never called me back!!!! Now I have a son with a huge golf ball cyst that might need surgery and we just cold turkey stopped accutane because I gotNo answers. Unbelievable!!!!!!!
The whole staff is efficient, professional, and friendly. Upon arrival, my check-in was efficiently fast and easy. My wait was virtually nonexistent before the medical assistant took me to the exam room. She knew my case and explained what was to follow. The doctor came into the room soon after that, fully briefed on the reason for my visit and answered a couple questions. She was friendly and professional. She left while the assistant numbed the areas to be surgically removed and the doctor came back in shortly thereafter. The procedure was very professionally done; I even commented to the doctor and her assistant that it was like a well-choreographed dance. I was on my way home less than an hour after my scheduled appointment.
Kim was very friendly and prompt in checking me in without issue. Margaret called my name, good me to the doctors office, she was friendly and accommodating. Derick Dermatology is the best run medical organization I’ve experienced. As a senior citizen I’ve seen many well run medical organizations but this is by far the best. From the time you walk in to prompt follow up & post visit. The environment is professional from start to finish, office is clean, upbeat, and well decorated. The administrative staff is pleasant and well trained. Dr Alexa is amazing, kind, thoughtful, not rushed, thorough, and does a wonderful job. Thank you for your amazing services Derick Dermatology..

Front desk very nice and accommodating. I wasRunning 10 mins late. There policy is 10 mins is the cut off for being late. So they moved my appointment so I would be on time giving me another 20 mins.to get there. I was getting IPL my tech was great and very helpful. What weThought would be 3 sessions ended up being 2. Saving me money! The Elgin office is my favorite.
I arrived early for my appointment, instead of having me wait till my time, they saw me right away, impressive, all of us hate waiting to be seen. Was greeted by everyone in a very friendly, respectful manner. Exam, diagnosis and treatment were done painlessly and fast. Can’t say enough great things about this office and all their staff.
The staff was professional, personable and exceptional. I say this because the numbing injection, before the biopsy, was unexpectedly excruciating and the PA gave me permission to squeeze her hand during the procedure. I was in great hands of expert care.

Best dermatologist practice around. I’ve been seeing Jenny Brophy for years. Her laidback but direct and caring bedside manner are above any doctor I’ve seen. I feel comfortable and taken care of at every visit. My son has seen two other doctors out of the practice who are also fabulous. I recommend and will continue to do so to anyone looking for a dermatologist practice. The front desk is also great. Thanks for being such a professional and friendly practice.
First time visiting a dermatologist, from scheduling my appointment to walking out what a positive experience. Andrew Thompson to the time to explain what he’s looking for and what I should watch for at home, such a positive experience looking forward to my yearly check up’s. Staff was friendly and even more they run on time, not like my doctor office you sit and wait, I walked in the the examination room on my exact time.
Everyone, from reception to pharmacy, could not have been better. Felt comfortable throughout. I had to have a small amount of atypical cells removed. Removed bandages and can hardly see the incision. Highly recommend Derick Dermatology.
I waited 6 months to get in to see a doctor regarding hair loss. I filled out the forms which include medication I’m currently taking. The doctor prescribed Rogain foam, supplements, and prescriptions for shampoo and an oral medication. The oral medication has scary side effect and long term potential problems. I visited my neurologist soon after the appointment. He said one of my medications is causing the hair loss. My friend then told me about liquid Rogain after I mentioned the foam sits on my hair not my scalp. I will continue Rogain along with the supplements my neurologist recommended. However, I will not go back to Derrick Dermatology for my follow up appointment.
Always a 5 STAR experience at Derick. While the circumstances taking most of us into their offices isn’t great, the office and medical staff make things as good as they can be. Dr. Campbell is awesome! I appreciate that while removing the skin cancers is the most important thing, how I look when the stitches come out is a high priority as well. Highly recommend.
Dr. Campbell was great. The surgery I had was done without pain. The results are excellent. No one, not even my primary care physician could not see where the surgery was. I would recommend anyone to Dr. Campbell. Thank you for the care. Dr. Campbell spoke to me. Explained the surgery made me feel relaxed about what was going to be done.
My husband and I both came to Derick in Elgin for the first time for the first of many annual exams. I have never experienced a more efficient and perfect medical appointment. The office is beautiful. Check in was a breeze. But most important...the medical assistant and PA Erin were fabulous. I felt informed throughout the exam and left with great information for follow up care and ways to protect myself better. I’ve been to many different doc offices, and this was one of the best.Well done, DD team.

First time going to a dermatologist and my experience was great. I visited derick dermatologist for my acne and I was treated kind and professionally. I loved that they made me feel comfortable and had all the answers to my questions. Also loved that I could get my prescription in the same office so I saved a trip to the pharmacy.
Nightmare of the scheduling phone system...Very surprised that you spend so much money on advertising but cant afford competent receptionist if things do not go as planned.. Good luck if you get stuck in traffic and do not make it within 10 mins of your appointment, but it is perfectly fine for you to wait an hour if location has a slide. The system will kick you out after 10 min and if you try calling all you get is the automated system that has general options to change your appointment so if you are on the treatment plan your next appointment may be few weeks out, if you try talking to scheduling agents they are not always very accommodating it seems they play more of tetris game than hear a human on the other side. If you ask to talk to someone it seems you are always out of luck as manager just left for the day or did not start yet. The scheduling agents do not know locations phone numbers and cant contact the location or nobody answers yet the lady at the desk can see the phone queue.. Very unsatisfied for being a long time customer. I did mention phone system issues to locations manager.
My experience was positive until the invoices came and then I noticed that they billed me $175 dollars MORE then they billed my insurance. I went through 3 billing people over a few months period, with no explanation that made sense. And at one point Emma sent me her screen shots of her billing/coding system and suggested I try to figure it out. (really?) I finally paid the bill in full ONLY because they wore me down. They got their money but they lost my husband and I as customers.
My experience at Derick Dermatology was absolutely wonderful. The staff is very courteous and professional. The check-in process is done electronically via tablets. Dr. Stefanie Ali did a detailed and through full-body scan. She kept me informed of her findings during the exam and described procedures before being performed. She took time to listen to my questions and concerns. Derick Dermatology even has a dispensary where you can pick up the prescribed meds, at resonable pricing, that saved me a trip to the pharmacy

Derick Dermatology provides caring professional service. Appointments are always taken on-time, the staff is knowledgeable and competent. The in-house pharmacy saves a trip to the drug store and written care instructions are superb. Much attention is given to patient comfort and the medical staff takes the time to answer all questions. This is the second bad experience Ive had at Derick Dermatology. The one today, July 11, 2019 is worth writing about. My appointment for my annual skin cancer screening with a nurse had been scheduled months ago. My normal drive time to their Elgin office is 15 minutes, but today I left early because of heavy traffic on Randall Rd. in Elgin due to repaving and construction. The trip to Derick took me 45 minutes instead of the usual 15 minutes. When I arrived for my noon appointment at 12:15 PM, the waiting room was empty except for 3 receptionists not doing anything, and two people sitting together in the waiting room. I am almost 80 years old, and I was taken aback when I was abruptly told by the middle receptionist, who had beckoned me over to her, that they have a 10-minutes lateness policy. My appointment had been cancelled, because I was 15 minutes late. I briefly explained to the staff member that I was stuck in bumper-to-bumper construction traffic, but she wasnt interested---just kept saying my appointment had been cancelled and I could reschedule it. I asked to speak to a supervisor, but was ignored. I told the staff member that I would not be back to Derick, and I left the office. Hopefully Ill find a good dermatology practice in the Elgin area that cares about and respects their patients more than making $$$$ by spending a minimal amount of time with each patient.
My visit at Derick Dermatologist was Awesome. The staff were very very nice. I would recommend Derick Dermatologist to my family and anyone that may need a Dermatologist. They are just fooling; they dont have enough doctors, and those doctors are not easy to get appointments. Especially Dr. Stephene Ali, she only works morning hours, no flexible hours.Their Naperville location has only one doctor and takes the morning to noon appointments and one day in a week, And the faculty is not very helpful due to the doctors attitude. Rest, they have PA physician assistants. You pay so much money to see PA. It is a joke.
A great team of professionals. They listened to my concerns and appeared to understand my desired outcomes, before offering what they believed to be my best medical outcomes.
Everyone here is super friendly and dedicated. They are professional and take the time to go over everything. I have visited three of their locations and they are consistent.
My only issue is I am old school. I would like to get a hard copy of the summary of the visit. I have pulled up the online version, but it is not complete and I cant figure out what it says. Thats why I have to keep leaving messages with questions. They are very good about calling back with responses.
When I entered the office space, I was greeted by Carly who put me at ease and secured my information for the paperwork. Then I was called back to the exam room by Kayla who also made me feel relaxed and secured information about my present medical situation. Then I met Alexa who gave me my exam. She was very thorough and found 2 places that needed biopsy. Biopsy came through negative, and a follow up was scheduled. The follow up was just as professional and thorough. Could not find a better Team and I would whole heartedly recommend Derick Dermatology!!!

The office in Elgin is well run and you get seen at the time of your visit. While I work 5 minutes from the Barrington office, I have found that the office staff there is not as helpful and I’ve waited up to 30 minutes without any explanation. I will travel 45-50 minutes to be seen by Dr. Campbell. She is professional and personable!

I sat in the Drs office in my underwear for ONE HOUR before the doctor came in. Suggested I might try patch testing (I did which means my chart wasnt even looked at) and was prescribed vaseline for my itchy rash. Wouldnt even LOOK at my scalp . . . we need a special appointment for that. I guess your scalp is not part of your skin and cant be looked at the same time? I will NEVER go back here. Unreal.

Went in for an eczema flare up as a new patient. Ive had eczema my whole life, but havent needed to see a doctor for it in several years. The doctor at Derick prescribed me a medication for it after an exam and a discussion about eczema. When I went to fill the prescription, my insurance wouldnt pay for it because according to them, it was not FDA approved for the condition listed in my records. As it turns out, the doctor did not note the diagnosis correctly in my records and refuses to correct them unless I come in for a reevaluation.Needless to say, I will not be going back.
I have never experienced an medical office or staff as wonderful as this one. From the moment I walked in the door to the moment i stepped out, I felt welcomed and cared for, as if I was family. I highly suggest Derick Dermatology.

Very efficient operation, and very good bed side manners during surgical layer procedures.I was prescribed and given Tylenol upon exiting checkout. That was sufficient initially, however, first evening as I was getting out of bed at 3am for my nightly duties, I pushed off the bed with my left arm and hand, and immediately felt excruciating pain. The pain was only minimized by using Norco meds I had leftover from recent implant surgery. I was never informed of possible necessity of keeping left arm immobilized, as one of surgical procedures was done in the triceps area of left arm. Other than one oversight, my experience was very good.
First let me start by saying I only have a left arm and that I tend to judge people by how they reach out to shake hands. Especially politicians and professionals. An observant person who cares will reach out to shake my hand with their left hand. This Dr. didnt. Other then my personal pet peeve everything went good.

At my first visit to Derrick Dermatology l was diagnosed with basal cell carcinoma under my left eye.Derrick set my appointment for Mohs surgery; as well as coordinating my closure with an excellent eye plastic surgeon.lt has been 5 days since then; and I feel I made the right decision. Dr Campbell and her team were Great! Dr John Michon did the closure, and explained everything to me.He is quite an individual,and really knows his stuff! Derick’s staff are the nicest people I’ve ever dealt with at a doctor’s office. They go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. I highly recommend them.

When I first went to this Dermatologist I want only to have some moles removed. And it was found out that I did have some spots that could possibly be cancerous they did the biopsys and think of this everything came back OK they made me feel very confident that they believe that it will be OK they got back to me promptly with results and answered all questions that I ever had I have recommended this office to many people even if its somebody online looking for you Dermatologist thank you for all you do
Made an APPT for full body rash. Told the doctor I have thrush and a yeast infection. She did a biopsy said results in 2 weeks?! She gave me a cream that isnt for yeast. No relief. Went to a walk in clinic the next day, was diagnosed with systemic yeast infection and put on heavy duty anti- fungal pills and mouthwash. Probably getting a thousand dollar bill for nothing. My husband went 6 months prior and they followed same protocol with no answers or relief. Poor company.
I took my daughter to the Elgin office for the first time. The office is very nice and the staff is great. The front desk staff, medical staff, and pharmacist were all friendly and helpful.

This group is thorough and explains things well. I have never sat in the office waiting for an appointment more than about 10 minutes either so they dont overbook patients.
I call ahead with questions and when we get there I realized I was lied to. Couldnt stay in the room while they did a small procedure on my husband and led me to a waiting area telling me they have juice boxes. Im 35, not 5! If Im hoping to be lied to then I wont be returning with either my husband or daughter.

Amazing service! I was nervous about my appointment but the ladies that helped me were so nice, informative and comforting.
The techs ability to draw blood requires improvement. They used both arms and two techs. They tried to reuse the same vacutainer three times. I pointed out that the blood was flowing so slow because the vacuum in the vacutainer was probably gone. She got a new vacutainer and it worked.
Great staff! They hear everything you have to say. They explain in ways you will understand. Punctual and very welcoming people.

I have had the pleasure of having different Staff , P.A.’s and Doctor’s on my Visits. The one I saw last time was fantastic. Mrs. Clark is by far the best! She is personable, made me feel at ease while she examined me. She was thorough in checking areas of concern.I would definitely recommend anyone looking for a Dermatologist to make an appointment at this office.

I was taken into the procedure room and treated with respect and all of my questions were answered before the procedure began. I was extremely nervous but they did assure me and all went very well. I am schedule for a follow up to remove my stitches and I feel that all will go well.

2022-07-27My son was misdiagnosed in April at the Elgin location. I had even called to follow up after his appointment because it was getting worse and she didn’t indicate we needed to be concerned with something else. When I called to let her know his true diagnosis, after seeing a derm at Lurie’s, she was rude. Told me a manager would call me to discuss my concerns and I never got that call.
