Cupitol Coffee & Eatery in other cities:
Employees were helpful and friendly. Come and hang out with your friends, or come work alone/with someone. It has great mixed vibe in there. The breakfast sandwich was delicious. They were going to charge me $1 for replacing the meat with an extra egg. I was getting the classic breakfast asked if they can do no meat and replace that with an extra egg. I think that’s an even trade, if anything probably better for the restaurant. The pancakes, French toast were great!
Such a fun, warm, and inviting atmosphere. I can in the afternoon on a Monday and it was HOPPING! They have a great system of servers and runners. I had the Midwestern omelet and was not disappointed, literally the best omelet Ive ever had. Their drinks and pastries are as delicious as they are beautiful! I cant wait to return
Great ambience, clean decor, high ceilings, big windows, cosmopolitan patronage, fast service, delicious food, creative dishes (the sweet potato bowl was more like a kedgeree, just what I needed). I hope to try their gorgeous desserts some day.Menus are digital which loses the feel of a server who can make recommendations. I suppose I’m old fashioned in that I like a physical menu but perhaps that’s a COVID-19 thing, and I can adapt too. And the digital menus cuts down on movement of staff and clogging between tables which keeps the place feeling active and airy.
So I stopped at your establishment this morning... as I walked in I said, good morning...to a person doing something at the register...there was no respond...I sat and waited ... no one approached me... not a single form of attention...Moments later, another person appeared went behind the counter and began fiddling with something...Still, no greeting, no acknowledgement...I continued to wait...A third person appeared with a tray of baked goods...and that person said not a word...As I sat at the table, I exchanged looks with the staff... and that did not crack a reaction from them...not a Word...The worst service ever!!!Let me restate...The worst service ever!!!Point... when I walk into the Cozy Corner dinner on Devon and Clark...as I walk in I get three good mornings ... a server is walking me to a table...menu in hand...a few moments later I have my cup of coffee...a glass of water ...Less than three minutes I am seated ... coffee in hand ... server taking my order...Through out my stay I have everal refills of coffee...sever checks on me...At your establishment as I rose from the table put on my coat ... and left ... guess what...Not even a word...Let me repeat...Not even a word...When I leave the Cozy Corner dinner...I get ... have a good day and thank you for coming in...Excellent service...When I left your place...all I wanted to do is leave you this message...Worst service ever...I will return to the Cozy Corner dinner...
Absolutely HORRIBLE service from the moment we ordered to when we got our food. Ordered an iced tea and and iced coffee. The tea had roughly 3.5 already melted ice cubes. The coffee had none at all. We did go up to get ice but were berated and told we ordered incorrectly. I was told to be more specific when ordering an iced coffee to state that I would like ice in it. As ridiculous as it sounds, I had already done that and verified that I wanted an icedcoffee. Unfortunately we had also ordered theirlarge portioned mac & cheese. Perhaps large in a European country, this was barely enough to be considered a side dish here in America. The best part is, I didnt receive my full order because our server decided to practice his circus skills with our bowl and spilled mac & cheese on the table without so much as a sorry. My already small portion turned into an extra small. We were so fed up we just leftfiguring that since there were no managers there was no use in complaining. Avoid this place at all costs unless you want attitude from teenagers who make it known that they are miserable at their workplace.
A day in the life of me experience. The seating is quite comfy and the menu has options for all dietary restrictions. The food comes out fast and it is a perfect place to drink your favorite smoothie or cappuccino. The pricing is a little high but the experience makes up for the jumpstart to your morning.
I was not impressed. Unless I added much salt it was tasteless. But the croissants were delicious however it was either dripping fat or was put in a pool of butter...it became wet, soggy. No simple refill for my coffee. When I asked for one, I was told I had to walk to counter and ask there. There was a line...20 dollars for one breakfast, one coffee and one croissant. Unless Im invited, I will not return easily.
The food is delicious with a wide variety of eats from which to choose. Although there is not much privacy and it was a little loud (the reason for 4 instead of 5 stars) it was not difficult to carry on a private conversation. The seating is a little tight so distancing might be a concern for some.
Like so many places in Evanston, the management of this venue forgets that we, the customers, provide for their livelihood. Not welcomed when entering. Told bruskly to scan the QR code for the menu. Great start.Found a seat outside. Used the code, ordered on-line, mentioned that I was seated outside and included a 20% tip.The food showed up. The young man who brought it out was the only friendly face Id seen since the beginning of this impromptu visit.Looked like one egg, scrambled (very skimpy serving). I ordered chicken sausage. One link. I ordered multigrain toast- one extremely small slice. Like from a mini-loaf. Getting the picture?Lastly, my $14 got me inedible hash browns. Ill include a pic of this culinary insult.Oh well. Not a happy first experience. Definitely my last with Cupitol Coffee in Evanston.
Great café for general chilling with some coffee and a snack or even coming by for some lunch and breakfast. Lots of tables and a really cozy atmosphere to hang and enjoy your food.My only gripe is the food is a bit pricey, but so is much of Evanston so tis how it tis. At least it is very tasty and a good range of food.
My favorite place to grab some quality food, a cup of coffee or hang out and get work done on my computer in Evanston area. Extremely well thought out concept, comfortable seating and incredible atmosphere. People are very cool. Workers and visitors that come in. Very good vibes.
During mornings its usually a first come first serve kind of place. You should get a table first, than go order (it can be quite busy sometime, so someone will ask you to wait 10-20 min before ordering). Drinks are put near the cashier, food is served to your table.During dinners the place is much less crowded. The dishes are not as great in the morning though. The service is generally good and the food/drinks are mostly great. It is a bit noisy, and if you need to use the restroom it can take some time (unisex restrooms = guys actually need to wait).
Great atmosphere and spacious, unfortunately no seating due to current situation. We had coffee and orange cake.. the cake was dense and a bit too sweet for our liking and the coffee was extremely weak, it’s like coffee flavored milk, great barista though, you can tell they know how to make a good coffee, perhaps it’s the beans used..
Delicious food. Great service. Excellent espresso drinks. Wondering self service still or sparkling water taps that remind me of our time in Europe. Perfectly prepared medium poached eggs. Atmosphere is busy as it is very popular for breakfast. But people courteously seem to know when to vacate their tables.
Vegetarians beware! I ordered a bfast sandwich without meat, it arrived with meat, I asked for it without meat so they took it back and just took off the meat and brought it back one min later. I asked if they remade it or just took the meat off and they said, to my face, that they remade it fresh. There was still ham on the bread they had just given back to me. Plain disrespectful and dishonest. Very disappointing.Pros: Delicious croissant, fruit tart, and pancakes. Some of the staff are friendly.Cons:- Expensive and portions are small.- NOT vegetarian friendly for their traditional breakfast options (i.e. breakfast sandwiches or combo plates) as there are no meat substitute options; you are forced to have meat or still pay for the meat without getting a substitute. You can then pay an outrageous $1.50 for an *extremely* small cup of pico de gallo or some other side to substitute the meat youre still paying for.- hash browns and the everything bagel we got were very dry and extremely bland- Brusque, dishonest, and impolite service - very busy and they dont have time to explain to you kindly how you must order first before sitting (also a lack of signage explaining how this works - a simple sign saying please order first before sitting would solve this).
The most delicious brunch location. Their brioche french toast is fantastic, as are the buscuits and sausage gravy, and the spinach omlette. This place is usually crowded, so get there early to get a table. But the staff is adept at fitting people in and has a great system for finding you a seat.
Slightly unorthodox serving style. You get assigned a number for seating, then you order at the register. Food comes out to your table, buy you have to go pick up drinks at the counter. The food is great. The Number 5 croissant sandwich is filling and budget-friendly. The French Toast is large and soft, with sweet mascarpone. I especially enjoyed the Country Benedict, which trades muffins, ham, and hollandaise for classic biscuits and sausage gravy under its poached eggs. This is a great brunch spot in Evanston, but get here early - it might be busy!
Great walkable dowtown Evanstonlocation and quite the lively hotspot for weekend brunch. Traditional pastries, coffees, and breakfast fare -- but take a chance and order something beyond the ordinary like the sweet potato bowl featuring brown rice, curry, and kale. Yum!
Food (solids) are spot on. They also have fresh juices that are really pricey but taste good. Coffee is just OK. I think it is very, very, acidic and it lacks any real flavor. The lounge is spacious and comfortable but the furniture needs updates or major cleaning. Over the years many spills, stains, and similar have developed. They have not really done much about it.
When I moved into the neighborhood I was so excited for the spacious, beautiful café with a great location. I have been a customer for several months primarily out of convenience, but also the great atmosphere and decent latte.Unfortunately I think that Cupitol should either change their hours to officially close 15 minutes earlier or staff should be paid to stay a few minutes longer. It is the daily routine for Cupitol staff to shut the music and lights off and completely stop serving well before closing time. I tried to get a cup of coffee 15 minutes before closing time and was told they had already cleaned up the coffee bar. I am respectful of the staff wanting to end their work day efficiently, but should be able to pack up my bag with the lights on and grab a cup of coffee (supporting your business) on the way out.I hope something changes.. Cupitol is great in many other ways.
Good food but I placed an order for our office and they messed up more than half of the orders. One sandwich was ordered without meat and meat was put on the sandwich, ordered sweet potato fries and received regular ones, and got the most pathetic order of bacon ever. Overall disappointing!
Truly not worth it....Food is WAY WAY over priced. You can get better food at ihop! The manager of this establishment is also pretty terrible, when I asked about the missing sides for our $12 per plate order (total order $60) they refused to provide the rest of the meal saying it was a doordash problem.....leaving my kids super hungry and complaining on Xmas morning ......never ever again and will gladly share my experience with anyone who asks as someone who works in the food business I just could never imagine treating a customer this way....not a great spot at all
I rarely leave reviews, but this place deserves the one star, for downright dishonesty and low quality. We ordered three burgers for pick-up. First, they advertise their burgers with bacon; bacons in all the pictures, and theres an option for a No Bacon burger. Yet when we got home, not a single one of our burgers had bacon on it. Second, they charge you $1.50 for condiments (ketchup, mustard, and mayo), which is absurd in and of itself. However, they tell you that its all Sir Kensington brand, so you think well, at least theyll be high quality. Nope: when we got home, we found Heinz packets stuffed into a bag. Third, we ordered our burgers with fries (two regular, one sweet potato). Unfortunately, the fries were so undercooked and greasy that they werent even edible. The burgers themselves were average. The staff was also rude: one of those places where they act like theyre doing you a favor by serving you. Theres so much good food in this town; you can definitely find a much better option than Cupitol.
Just a really great experience from the environment to the staff and of course the food and drink. One of the best espressos I’ve had. Light, slightly acidic but smooth. Went down fast. So good I bought a bag for home! They say they are the only cafe in the US to sell this Greek espresso bean!
I think this is the first google review I’ve ever left but thought it was necessary. There was a literal PHONE in my to-go Container this afternoon around 3:15. How on earth does one make that mistake? The cashier offered me a new bagel (which I did not want due to who knows what sanitary practices they have going on) and refunded me but that was just not enough. I was so shocked all I could do was laugh I thought I being pranked.
The kitchen staff is incredibly kind when bringing the food out however, the same cannot be said with the front desk staff taking orders. They’re very unfriendly and demeanor is discourteous/unpleasant. The breakfast sandwich was wonderful but the hot drink was made incorrectly both times - clearly shows their carelessness.
This place saved my life. We got in Thanksgiving morning after being on a red eye from California...meaning I was running on 3 hours of sleep. We were driving through chilly Evanston and Im Yelping half asleep hoping and praying something decent will be open. Its 7:50 am and I see that Cupitol opens at 8:00am. YES, we find parking right in the front and try and defrost as we wait for it to open. We ordered fresh squeezed oj, a nutella latte, yes I said nutella, an almond milk latte, fruit smoothie, breakfast croissant sandwich with cheddar cheese and sausage-soooooo good! and a chocolate pastry. Love the decor inside and all the natural lighting. I sunk into their comfy couch and drank my latte as I started to come back to life. We were very pleased with everything we had. Thank you Cupitol for thawing me out and waking me up.
This place is amazing! I went for breakfast and they have a good selection of food! The food and service was so good that I took a sandwich and pastry instead of eating at the airport. Best decision ever! Also the seating areas are great, whether you a table, a couch or a table outside.
A stable coffee shop to grab food, meet up with friends or get work done in Evanston. I’ve tried many things on the menu including different food dishes and beverages and all of them were decent although nothing left me craving more. It’s got a good selection of pastries, breakfast items and lunch items and is very friendly to different dietary restrictions such as vegetarian and gluten free.I like the space because it’s got tables with chairs and a lounge area indoors and seating outdoors so it’s a good location for many different purposes. Make sure you let the host know if you are planning to use your laptop because depending on the time of day they restrict laptop usage to select seating areas.
I absolutely LOVE their gravalox bagel. Pastries are always fantastic, too!!!!! Coffee is a hit, they also make their own cold brew and chai in house. Definitely a must-visit! Very cozy and spacious seating area. Perfect spot for breakfast or coffee with friends or to come and have a peaceful place to get some work done
My wife, daughter and I went to Cupitol for my birthday brunch because of the outdoor seating. Right as our food was being brought to our table the first drops of rain were falling. The staff held the food, brought us inside and found seating. We enjoyed our delicious food (Country Benedict, Big Breakfast, and a salad) inside and dry.
Coffee and coffee drinks ate great and the service is prompt. It was our first visit, though, and there was no indication of the process (order at the counter, wait for drinks, food comes to your table, bus your own table [at least outdoors]). When our food came (quickly!), it looked very good, but was just okay...marred by bland, room-temperature hash browns.
Very good place. The food is excellent. My boyfriend ordered this avocado wrap and he was super tasty. I wanted an oat milk latte but they did not have it. I tried my BF drink and it was really good. I love the ambiance. You have a nice layout for feeling covid free. The tables are well set. You have also a large couch and coffee tables. Go back for sure
I love how spacious & inviting this place is & it seems designed for people to work or lounge. The food & coffee are good & the sweets on offer are great but I felt everything was a bit overpriced. I loved the Avocado Toast but I think I paid $11 for a single slice plus bacon.
A very tasty latte! this location is a little tucked away compared to other options in the northwestern university-adjacent area, but is worth venturing to. at lunchtime on a wednesday it did seem to be patronised by somewhat nonplussed and confused corporate worker types, doubtless stunned by the sunshine and fresh air of the outside world as they staggered through in search of lunchtime options.there seem to be copious food items available, as well as what looked to be rather delicious tarts (the key lime in particular looked great) - and said tarts offered both large (what i might describe as standard-sized tarts) and small (which would provide a very reasonable and calorie-consious taste of the item - an approach i found myself appreciating quite a bit, despite not partaking on this visit.)recommended for coffee and potential dessert item needs.
Coffee was sorta small for the price. Line was out the door though, seating was really weird. You got assigned a spot instead of just picking your own. They gave us a sticky note that vaguely said lounge and Im not sure if we even sat in the right place. I had a butter croissant which was pretty bomb. It was crowded and a little stressful which couldnt be helped by the staff, who were all extremely kind and helpful.
Coffee was good, service was terrible. We went on the morning of Mother’s Day and they failed to plan for the number of orders they would receive. Patrons in the store were asked to get back in line repetitively to order while the kitchen continued to crank out only online orders. Not a single waiter told us what the wait would be or even acknowledged us after sitting down. As a recommendation for the restaurant, your in-person patrons are more important than your DoorDash orders, especially on a day like Mother’s Day.
This high-end coffee place has your average breakfast commodities such as pancakes, scones, fruit and coffee. Their location is popular and a must when visiting Chicago. I have a friend who currently works there as a floater for any any area that needs extra assistance (barista, waitress, cashier, etc). The owner of the business is a women who is driven, compassionate, and on-top of providing customer’s needs! My nephew who is autistic had a meltdown over not having pancakes and the owner was immediate in pushing the order through quickly. Not only that but she did not charge us for the pancakes. I had come in later after my family and they had ordered me a small mocha to go. The order had not been put in for over an hour and I needed that coffee for a 10+ hour drive back to KC. The owner was prompt in rushing the order and even upgraded the mocha to a large. I would say the food quality isn’t top of the line for what we paid but the customer service is the best I’ve seen in Chicago!
I literally have never been to a ruder place. When I wanted to place my order she barely acknowledged me and after I ordered she just handed me my food and turned away, never once speaking a word to me besides saying my total. The matcha drink I got literally just tasted like matcha powder, it wasn’t even mixed. Unless you want to feel unwelcome and pay for something you could make at home better, don’t come here
Loved it! Great atmosphere, good coffee, and delicious pastries! I had a coconut macaroon, which was a perfect sweet contrast to my espresso shots. The place is well decorated, and very comfy. I was there to meet a friend and we had a chance to catch up with a great surrounding vibe. Will definitely be back!
Great food Manager is very very rude got there 7:20 AM breakfast croissant was not ready I was happy that I’m waiting for fresh ones and ask the manager how long the do they need He He says 45 minutes I called after 45 minutes and he said it needs another 50 minutes I was right around the corner and I was like let me stop and do my work from my computer while I’m waiting I got there and the croissant was in the table ready.very disappointed Great place like this has that type of manager I felt his attitude while I was getting my order
You guys know the exact way to be polite, to make us happy and to provide an excellent customer service in general. The all day menu was unique, with a variety of healthy options. The quality of coffee was high and the Greek coffee the best. You upgraded Evanston and thank you for that!
The food quality is very good at Cupitol. Nice flavors, fresh ingredients, and a variety of fresh squeezed juices. It has cool modern decor with a laid back atmosphere plus outside seating. The crowd is eclectic. While it is a bit pricy, the quality of the food and coffee are worth it. A nice place to treat yourself.
Had the classic breakfast and gravlax on a everything bagel. The toast on the breakfast was tough and weren’t toasted well and the lox were extremely salty. They also have soup of the day on their menu but they don’t actually make soup of the day everyday. Would not go back.
Ive always loved this place for coffee talks, and even now with COVID theyve opened up an outdoor seating space. I just finished a lovely coffee and breakfast time with my mom. They cleaned up the table next to us while we were there as soon as the patrons left. They are being careful with distancing and cleanliness. The worker up front had clear instructions and flow from order to receiving. No stress, very easy, and a wonderful experience. Please visit them so they survive this economically difficult time!
I went with a group of 9 people on Sunday afternoon. Its was packed inside but we were lucky and found a table.Everyone was pretty happy with their food. They have a good selection and not very expensive. Most food items are around $10, which is not bad in this area. Staff were friendly and always smiling. The atmosphere and interior design made me feel relaxing and pleasant. I took out one star for music being a bit loud and noisy that day. But according to my friend its not always like that. All in all, I would recommend this place.
This is a newish restaurant in town. I guess they opened two locations in less than a year which is an impressive feat. I was told the owner does come from a family of restaurateurs which Im sure helped.I was very impressed with everything. The vibe, the decor, the food were all great. We were impressed that despite it being crowded, it wasnt noisy and easy to have a conversation.I had a sandwich. I dont eat bread often and dont like anything but outstanding bread and I wasnt disappointed, flavorful with the right blend of fluffy, chewy, and crunchy to delight. They have a great selection of pastries and I love that you have a choice of small or medium/large tarts. I like a bite of dessert and no more. I was easily accommodated with several choices. They have coffee and wine which I didnt try, but I noticed the wines were long pours. The price per glass of wine was just a tad high but for the quantity of wine you get it was fairly priced.I forgot to take pictures. I guess Ill have to go back. :)
Cupitol had really delicious breakfast options. The standard breakfast and French toast in particular are great. I really enjoyed the sticky bun French toast. The coffee here is great as well with many different drink options to choose from. There are also a number of good baked items if you dont want a full breakfast.
Excellent eating experience.. from walking in the door and being greeted by employee, and Manager Donald Shundi. seated and drink, was maybe 5 minutes. Meal was served hot and excellent taste. Every time this was our third visit to this location. Server was very friendly and helpful, friendly attitude and personable nature of business.Restaurants always clean. I would Recommend this location more than in any other locations. enjoy..
This place made my Sunday fun day with its good good food, hospitable people and spacious as well as clean atmosphere where you can lounge in all day. I enjoyed the Grilled Ham and Cheese. Oh! Did I mention the service is super fast?Cupitol has my stamp of approval as a breakfast and brunch spot (though Im not sure I am pronouncing the name correctly). Its also a nice place to put in work. I only wish it was closer to where I live.
Breakfast food is among the best in the area. Large portions on the items my group had. Great ambiance and service, especially considering how busy it was. Coffee is good but nothing to write home to your mom about. Better than any breakfast place but not as good as most coffee places
The food is surprisingly good. Definitely a pricier coffee shop but the food and drinks are all high quality. Not the greatest place to study since its usually super loud. But its clean and your feel like they care about you. For example they have self serve water and glasses, and waiters come to grab your dirty plates and cups. most people will like this place.
This is my 2nd time coming to this location. I love the morning smoothies! I will continue to come here but just one feedback. I ordered the avocado cream smoothie but replacing the orange juice with coconut water. There was definitely orange juice in my smoothie. I am pretty sure the worker that was working on my drink was new. Please make sure to look at your receipt orders carefully I had to throw away my drink and wasted money( I also tipped). This happened on 5/31/2019 at 7:40am. Great place friendly staff will be back!
Cupitol Café is located conveniently on the southern end of downtown Evanston making it less traffic-heavy in terms of access and cars. Staff was kind and helpful but quick and efficient too. But the BEST part? OMG, the Butter Croissant! That thing was a piece of bread from the heavens! The outside was crispy, it literally crunched through but the inside was such soft and pillowy butter goodness. I mean, amazing isnt the word - its EPIC!
Amazing atmosphere with great food and drinks. The food is organic and the protiens are antibiotic free. So I feel really good about getting food here. Their juices and smoothie are also amazing. A great healthy place to hang out for a few hours to get work done that easily transforms into a great date spot with some of their beer and cocktail selection.
The customer service here is amazing. Dylan the manager was fantastic and so were the rest of the staff. The food is delicious and the coffee is made with care. I would recommend the berry marscapone french toast and the nutella latte if you have a sweet tooth. I want to say thank you to all the staff that made my last minute birthday breakfast unforgettable.
The presentation of the food is great. The taste of the food leaves a lot to desire.I ordered a half O.J half carrot juice and it was simple terrible. It tasted like extra sour grapefruit juice. Check out Blind Faith Cafe juice and learn from them.Based on the note below, there might have been a miscommunication because i confirmed (returned the firt juice and was given a second one) twice to the person taking the ordered and they confirmed it was half carrot half orange juice.Lost in translation, i understand it happens.Thank you for your response. Changed total rating.
The sweet potato curry bowl for breakfast was nothing short of amazing. However, what really sets this place apart is the coffee. Most brunch cafes tend to rely on unlimited refills of burnt coffee to satisfy their customers, but here you can find a huge selection of espresso and drip brewed coffee drinks. I had possibly the cappuccino of my life here, though without a true taste test its hard to tell. I can safely put it in my top 5, though.
Cant get enough of this place. We came all the way from Arlington Heights just for their brunch menu and coffee. The avacado and egg wrap was just as we remebered it - perfectly packed and emotionally satisfying. If you havent been you need to go and experience it for yourself.
My friend has been telling me to check this place out for a while now. It did not disappoint. Although it was a bit crowded on Saturday morning, the service was friendly and efficient. I love that they had plenty of vegetarian options for me! I thoroughly enjoyed the brown rice, sweet potato, kale, coconut curry, and poached egg dish.
I wanted to like this place more but something didnt quite work on my last visit. The upside is the place is new and I like the clean and modern vibe. The place just opened so things seem a little frenetic. Or maybe thats just because Ive only been there for brunch.I ordered the gravlax plate and basically it was a deconstructed bagel and lox plate. I was hoping for something a little more, constructed. But the coffees not bad.Its not a bad place. Just felt like it was missing a little something when it comes to breakfast options.
I do like this place, but had kind a negative experience today. I arrived at 7 when the place was pretty quiet and ordered a pour over. The barista said she couldnt make it but she could do a drip coffee. Weird, but fine. Then a while later I was asked to stop working on my laptop because they have a laptop policy on Friday mornings (posted nowhere). The place is more than half empty and they needed me to leave or move because of volume. It was totally inconsistent though because the guy didnt bother the woman working on her laptop, or the old guy reading the entire newspaper. It left enough of bad taste in my mouth that Im thinking about not coming back. Id encourage them to rethink the policy. Its the day before the holiday break. Pretty sure I wasnt an issue, but whatever. It could have been handled better. Just a bit of a miss on the service front all around.
Excellent coffee. If youre in the mood for a quick and satisfying cup of deliciousness then its a given for me. If only there was one back in Omaha. (Not that Omaha has bad coffee haha). Also felt like the atmosphere was decent as well. A tad bit louder than I would have thought.
Ive been to Cupitol several times, and really want to like it! Their Americano is one of the better ones you can find downtown Evanston, the atmosphere is really cool, but their food is somewhat lacking.I tried their kale/fennel salad and their BLTA sandwich with chicken, and their breakfast sandwich and found them all to be pretty lacklustre, especially for the price. I like the fact that they offer some gluten free options, but have been mostly disappointed by the things Ive ordered. They also have a weekend laptop policy, which designates a particular area of the cafe for laptop users-- if youre sitting in the wrong section, you will be kicked out. This makes sense as far as controlling the flow of customers and opening up seating, but the way that it is enforced felt very rude.Cool atmosphere, decent food, very over-priced with questionable customer service.
My family and I have been coming to Cupitol ever since it has opened (Evanston location) we absolutely love it. Food is delicious and service is outstanding, every single time! We feel right at home. Dylan is amazing, super nice, always has a smile on his face. If your stopping in MUST try the European breakfast! The greek yogurt is so creamy topped with fresh berries, homemade almond granola drizzled with local honey. Delicious! You can’t go wrong with anything you order. Their coffee is outstanding.
Get there for Breakfast at eight ready to eat. The line is short to nonexistent, the service is fresh and the folks - if ANY - at the next, reserved table are friendly. The food is fine. I like the avocado egg wrap, and combine Pellegrino with fresh OJ. Went back the next morning for a replay.
I LOVE this place. Its my go-to for brunch, coffee and pastries, smoothies, lunch, to grab a picnic to go etc. The staff are all so sweet and helpful, the vibe is casual yet modern and streamlined, the food is SO FRESH and healthy. I love everything about Cupitol and take everyone I know there!

2022-06-06Perfect cafe to go to with friends! Food is delicious. We got the Spanish omelette and the breakfast sandwich. Both were delicious. Their coffee and juice were also great. Service is fast and the atmosphere itself is a great setting to spend a Sunday afternoon at. Really enjoyed it here. Will be coming back!

2022-04-01Chocolate almond croissant - 5/5Sweet potato bowl - 4/5The rice bowl was nice and fresh-tasting. But the flavor was kind of bland. Had to add quite a bit of pepper and hot sauce to get it to the flavor level I wanted. Could have also used more sweet potatoes. Still, I enjoyed it, and it made for a great warm option for breakfast. The croissants were perfection. Just the right amount of crispness and glaze. Highly recommend getting one if you have a sweet tooth!

2022-05-10Cute cafe for Brunch! Lovely atmosphere. You pick up your food from the counter when your table number is called. I had the Spanish omelette and matcha latte. Tasty and filling, but a little under seasoned. Beautiful pastry displays - will definitely have to try some of them next time!

2022-06-15My chicken BLTA tasted fresh (I could tell the ingredients were quality). But it was a little on the bland side so I’d recommend using some seasoning or a sauce if you order this. Other than that, a nice experience at Cupitol. They have a small patio space out in front and lots of open seating inside (gorgeous decor!)

2022-05-02Good selection of beverages, did not try the food and the place seems to be a bit chaotic. With a lot of empty(reserved?) tables there was a line of people waiting for ..their reserved table🤔

2021-10-12Cupitol is THE place to eat. From business partners, to the Citizen getting out, to Northwestern University students and staff, its well known. Devious looking from the outside, but, step inside and youll be most pleasantly pleased. Beautiful decor, great spacing, fantastic food and very good customer service. Highly recommend...

2022-07-03Great menu. Super happy with my waffles and sides. Just wished my cappuccino was as tasty as it looked. It was a masterpiece but required sugar.

2021-12-19The food and coffee are amazing! But not so much the service- unfriendly. This is one of the best you’ll find in Evanston. The brunch is always so fresh. Even the bread, jam and butter alone is so good! Some of The pasteries unfortunately are not as tasty as they look. I always find the workers to be unfriendly and not as helpful. Whenever I ask them to I explain a coffee they seem annoyed. This is probably my 20th time here and it never fails- unfriendly. But the food is worth it!

2021-09-11Ordered the avocado wrap- it was good and juicy. Ordered macchiato coffee, didnt realized it came in this tiny cup- of course- it was strong coffee. Like the ambience of the place. We sat inside.Only suggestion- with Covid pandemic still out there. I would suggest that the waiters who are bringing food to customers - should have their mask covering all the way to the nose- not halfway down.

2021-10-17The food was very good and service was fast and friendly. There was a large selection of pastries. My one complaint was that the tables and lounge area were very congested and did not have any dedicated walk ways for the customers making it difficult to navigate through the seating area.
