They were very nice I had abproblem with my bank cards. Forgot to un lock/unblock my cards. Embarrassing because it held up the whole drive and I felt so bad about it but they were nice and understanding about it, you high school kids can be very rude AF. and dont care.
I love the frozen custard (aka ice cream). Its premium quality so I dont mind the premium price. The Rueben sandwich is my favorite - tons of corned beef and grilled to perfection. The battered cod and butterburgers (aka hamburgers) are a superb indulgence. They lose one star because the mashed potatoes have a metallic taste, and because they dont automatically offer a senior discount to their grey-haired customers (who are often on a fixed income and could really use it, Culvers).
DELICIOUS food and desserts! Clean, pleasant atmosphere in dining area. In summer, there are tables and umbrellas outside! And, a very well trained staff ... they are efficient, friendly, have manners like employees used to have! Culvers proves that young, smiling, pleasant, efficient servers can still be found!
My nearby choice for a fairly fast food burger.. on occasion a fish sandwich or fish & chips. But its their Custard quality that sets the hook. Ive tried a few flavors, but really - 90% of the time I just default to chocolate, my favorite.. anywhere. Culvers is like licking Elvis.. Velvety, flavorful, with a smooth rich texture.
While visiting my son favorite burger place, we both dine in on 2 very nice meals!!! The establishment was very clean and tidy and the Staff was attentive. while leaving one of the staff notices me look at a business card which I mistook as the manager!!! She Openly Replied She is here in the Kitchen, as I was Looking Slightly Puzzled She Moved toward the Counter and Called for her. The Young Lady came up from Back and engaged me in a Brief Conversation, Come to find Out Shes the Owner and Proprietor of the Establishment!!! The food was Delicious and I Assured her that We Enjoyed Ourselves and the Extra Attention, ...and We Would be Back!!! ...What Good Customer Service!!!
Pulled up to place order at the speaker and had to repeat myself multiple times. The young lady could not hear me due to a lot of yelling (sounded like arguing) in her background in the store. I get to the window to pay, I asked the young lady for ranch sauce and she told me to pull up to park to wait on my food. Of course when my food got to my car there were no ranch, ketchup or napkins in the bag. I hated to send the runner back in to get it because it’s cold out here. The runner was a sweetheart but baby girl on that window need more training. DO BETTER CULVERS!
So, I havent been to a Culvers in a couple years so I dont know if this is the standard but everyone seemed really happy and the employees I interacted with were super helpful. The food was great, it always has been but there arent any locations near me so it was a nice treat and the pleasant staff is making me think it might be worth the trek more often.
We didnt get one of our sandwiches in the bag at the Drive Up. Paid for it, but no burger!! Come on, you have to do better..., it adds an additional 30 minutes to our dinner when these errors happen. Then to add salt into the wound, staff is relatively indifferent, no apology, nothing! I think anytime this happens, Culvers should reimburse you for your missing item and/or comp the entire order. Make staff accountable & is bet there be fewer mistakes & upset customers!
Ordered the fish dinner. I love this meal with broccoli. No problem. My friend ordered a chicken sandwich bundle. Specifically ordered cheddar cheese and mayonnaise with tomato, lettuce onionsHe received a dry burger with lettuce. He eventually got it with a couple of trips back up to the counter. I felt really bad because I suggested we go there.
Had an experience that has left me very disappointed. This was my favorite fast food choice and location. I always buy the concrete mixer and has always been satisfied, love it. Well, 5/18/22 I was almost done enjoying my chocolate with reeses cup and pecans concrete mixer when I felt something hard in my mouth, I spit it out, and this is what I saw, hoping I did not consume any of it...The picture I took shows what looks like bone. Now, Culver does not have meat or anything on the menu with bone in it, SO,, what is it???? Took the pieces and put it in a ziploc bag and what was left from the concrete mixer. Asked for Manager and told the initial person what happened, she told me to pull over and park while she gets the manager. The young lady came out and told me the manager was on the phone with the owner and asked did I want another one or anything or my money back. I was like I dont want nothing but to speak with the manager, she said ok. The manager comes out and told me that she reported it to the owner and that they was sorry, and gave my money back. I asked what was it, she said she didnt know but she sent a picture to her. Check out the picture below. Wont be returning.
The wait time to order my food in drive through wasnt long but the wait time to receive my food was about 25 minutes. I had to go inside because I had a meal missing and the guy apogized but its like you spend all that time bagging my order and it wasnt right causing me to come inside. This is the second time Ive been here and the first time I guess it was easier because I only ordered one meal for myself so they couldnt mess that up. I must say the food was good but always, always check your order especially if its a big food order.
On our way out for a family vacation my in-laws ordered two orders of chicken tenders with honey mustard. They received their order with only two bbq sauces.While I was inside waiting for my order my father in law came back in and asked for honey mustard. He was then told he had to pay for them.They should have received 4 honey mustard sauces in their bag.I was upset that he was being charged and also that the cashier/bagger displayed rude service.She dismissed me.Customer service is slacking.I was also missing sauce from my Chicken tender order. There weren’t any napkins in our bags either.As a resident of Matteson and Local I’m disappointed.
Horrible worse ever!!! Hamburger patty is cold!!! Not sure how long it takes for a patty to sit out for it to actually turn cold but that’s my burger. I called and they wanted me to drive all the way back with the burger in hand. Sure, ok, let me wrap it up, drive it all the way back, hand deliver the burger for a new one. NEVER GO BACK!! Too bad I like Culver’s too.
My boyfriend and I attempted to place an order inside of the restaurant; as we were walking to the front door we see a staff member lock the door. It is currently two hours before closing time and there were still patrons on the inside. I was confused so I called to ask why the door was locked. An employee answers and states that they are short staffed with only two members present. I asked again, what does that have to do with the door being locked?! She then responds, “I can’t work the counter, drive-thru and run orders out”. Not to sound insensitive but that is not my problem that their shift is short staffed. I did not appreciate being told to order my food via the drive-thru when the line was ridiculously long (hence why I chose to go inside). I suggested they put a sign up as to why the door was locked and the worker hung up on me. Completely unacceptable. I will be contacting corporate.
Over the years my family has frequented this establishment, my autistic child who is generally picky loves their grilled cheese. However the last few visits have been extremely disappointing. Food overcooked, stale bread still toasted and served, i called to speak with a manager about my order and she was super rude and “mhmming” me the whole time and in a stank tone said “well thanks for letting me know” like why would anyone want to keep coming back supporting this business when the service and food quality has gone down? Really disappointing.
Culver’s throws away food that could be given to others who are less fortunate. I ordered a chicken sandwich then changed my mind after they put it in the bag. They took it out and tossed it in the trash then tossed a burger bcuz it dripped outside of the box. What a waste. Where is the humanity?????
I am holding on to hope for this restaurant. This used to be one of my favorites even though I feel its a bit pricey. But what Im not happy with is the level of food to me it has gone down. It used to be superior to fast food. Now the chicken tenders appear overcooked hard edges just not the level it was when the place first open. I think the service is outstanding young people that work there are fantastic. But I think its some retraining on the cooking is needed. And I think the owner should be present at his franchise more often greeting people and thanking them for their patronage. I think if the owner was there they could oversee the operation and make Corrections where needed.
This has got to be the worst Culvers on Earth, sat in the Drive-Thru for 15 minutes... Finally got out the car went inside... My order was sitting there bagged up and ready to go... And at least four employees were standing around doing nothing... In addition Ive been here at least four other occasions where my order is either wrong or Ive gotten someone elses order... It is literally like rolling dice when you come to this location...
I have frequented this location since it opened. Within my last 3 visits the food was of EXTREME POOR QUALITY. The burgers were thin, dry, and cold. The burgers definitely did not represent the Culvers brand that Ive supported for many years. Further, our order was about $43, which is not cheap for a drive-thru burger restaurant order.I tried calling the Matteson location as soon as I opened my food around 3pm on 12/20/20, in order to alert them of the poor food quality. The phone was busy during the entire hour that I tried calling (from 3pm-4pm).I was finally able to reach a manager around 7pm. The manager told me that there was nothing she could do unless I BROUGHT THE FOOD BACK TO THE RESTAURANT. As a reminder, the food was purchased at 3pm, so have discarded the food at this point (its now 7pm). I told the manager that I had pictures. She said I should have kept the poor quality food in order that I could show the restaurant in person. I then asked the manager, So in order to rectify this situation, do you suggest I get my food out of the garbage can and bring it back to the restaurant? Her reply was,YES.I am completely appalled by this suggestion. To ask a customer to retrieve food from a garage can to fix a customer service issue is unsanitary and in my opinion, completely crazy. Further, in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic does it make sense to ask a customer to bring partially eaten food back into a restaurant?By the end of our conversation, I was told that this was their policy, and the best they could do is give me a Culvers Sundae coupon. In short, Im terribly disappointed, especially as Ive supported this specific location for many years. I will not go back to this location as I see they do not handle food according to Health Health Department guidelines, nor do they deem it important to their poor food quality issues. I hope this issue is fixed as this is a very poor representation of the Culvers brand.
Im done. Ive been coming here for 10 years. Im not sure what happened. The workers will not change gloves. The guys lean on the counter with their gloved hands, adjust their masks and ties, touch the refrigerator doors, condiments and bags. With the same gloved hands, the workers will touch two exterior, publicly accessed, doors to deliver drive thru orders outdoors.When I discreetly spoke to the young man and explained the cross contamination that I witnessed and suggested that he change his gloves; he says, he knows, and resumed bagging and grabbing condiments.It appears that theres an attempt at segregation of duties, with another young lady that exclusively consolidates sandwiches, fries, rings and other items into the bag. The separation would have been accomplished if the guy that adjusts his clothing and touches door handles hadnt touched the same refrigerator doors that the lady touched.I was done. I spoke to a staff worker who directed me to The Lady. She was supremely unconcerned about my reason for a refund request and stated that my request for a refund sounds like a plan.I looked on the internet for the owner so that I could privately express my displeasure; The Lady is the owner. Its no wonder she didnt care.Thanks for years of otherwise good service. I need to find another Black owned Culvers. Im pretty sure the owner should be as happy to see me go as I am to never have to return. I would have called the owner a Proprietor, however in the absence of any semblance of propriety; I guess Ill just stick with the title of owner.When you walk up to the counter, watch out for the gloves.Thanks Culvers
I came into the restaurant today and originally ordered a pot roast dinner that wasnt that great. I didnt think much of it and tossed it. Came back in to get a refill and Dawndria was most thoughtful and asked how was it and seemed to really care about my experience at Culvers. She asked if I wanted to pick another item to replace it since I didnt enjoy it. Dawndria was very professional and made sure that I was satisfied. I really appreciate the customer service that this location provides. Kudos
I like to eat healthier food. I visited this location because I was with someone else. The food was good. I indulged in a Mushroom and Swiss burger which is way outside of my diet but, it was tasty. I was able to substitute the fries, that came with the meal, with onion rings. The service was fast. The cashier and server were both pleasant.We visited this location on a Saturday afternoon, after lunch. An average amount of people were there. It wasnt too crowded and it wasnt deserted. There is ample parking and easy to access.Enjoy!
I almost gave it 4 stars because I dont think the cost to value ratio is there. That being said, great atmosphere, friendly workers. They actually hold the door at the entrance for you when they arent helping a customer. I had the spicy chicken sandwich. It was pretty good. My boys lived getting the ice cream at the end.
Love this Culvers and come every month with my residents. Last time was today. 2/6/19 around 1pm. It is usually the same group of ladies who are working and they are always so helpful. From holding open the door for the residents in wheelchairs, to being so very patient when taking everyones order. Next time, Ill have to remember to get their names so I can let corporate know!*Edit* my trip on 6/27/21 between 1:30pm and 2 was even better. I went with my daughter and we used one coupon and were a bit (me) indecisive about our order. The cashier was patient, especially as I dug out out my credit card and our server was friendly and sweet. Please support this local business!
I admire this restaurant! They have good dishes, their menu is varied, The cook in that restaurant is an expert, I love a lot trying all their dishes. The food is consistently fresh and tasty, the service towards the guests is friendly. I go often to this restaurant and I was never unsatisfied. I recommend this place.
The bathrooms are clean and the food is amazing. But I’m not gonna lie, sometimes the customer service is lacking. I’m totally fine with waiting for my food as long as it’s good, which it always is. But the kids working inside could use a little more pep in their step and a smile on their face. It would go a long way.
Always a great experience. The food is always great, cooked to order and it is always fresh and hot. My favorite, the pork tenderloin is always delicious. Who can ever refuse the fresh frozen custard. So many ways to serve the custard. All of the workers are kind and courteous. The store is always clean. Overall it is a great dining experience.
We like a lot going out. Yesterday we visited this magnificent restaurant which friends recommended to us. We enjoyed a lovely time there with superb cooking and an efficient stuff and an impressive chief cook. We added this venue in our list and we shall certainly come back very soon. Highly recommended.
On Tuesday evening 12.10 my family had a small birthday party for my niece. I cant say enough about the manager. He stopped over a few times to make sure we were satisfied. The team members were so attentive and they also came over to sing Happy Birthday! They were FANTASTIC!
I normally have a good meal here but todays services was terrible. I was eating in and instead of bringing a tray out to the table it was a bag. Now I understand it was close to closing time but I made it into the restaurant with enough time to have a meal prepared and eaten. On top of that the burgers where semi warm. I wont be coming back the Mattesons Culvers again.
An excellent place to stop for a quick message AND dessert ! I have several favorites that I will share with you. Their pot roast sandwich is to die for. It sounds like something made up, and it is! Try it! Its delicious! You will love it! My other recommendation is the butter burger! The butter is on the bun and makes it one of the best burgers you will ever taste! Leave room for ice cream. Outstanding!
I had to give them one star to write this review. I placed an order in drive thru and pulled up waited 20 min everyone around me got there order. I flagged down a young man and asked if he could check on my order he came back and told me they said I got my order I pointed to the number still hanging from my door and he went back and they told him the same thing. Now it is 30 min since I paid for my order. I went inside and asked for a manager. Finally someone came from the back and asked me for a receipt no apologies, no what happened, I gave her my plastic number that was hanging on my car door she looked up the order and asked was it cash or credit I Told her to give me my money so I can leave still no I’m sorry nothing! I asked for corporates number and she said I don’t have that, I said aren’t you a manager she said yep I left at this point. Everyone I know says not to eat here now I learned my lesson and will never eat here again after10 years. They need customer service training and Diversity and inclusion training! or just close this store it is a disgrace.
First time going to this location. Orders have to be called in, I had a pretty extensive order (5 meals & ice cream scoops,) everything in our order was correct and the service was great! Thanks Matteson Culvers! I could tell from the phone call to drive-thru that the employees genuinely care about the service they provide.
My family came to dine-in here in the afternoon and were blown away by the service provided. 5-STAR SERVICE HANDS DOWN. For a drive-thru restaurant the staff is very friendly and attentive. Even though one staff member didnt understand English well and overstepped their bounds with my child, that still doesnt take away from the 5-STAR rating. DEFINITELY recommending this location!
I recieved an awful salad! The chicken was too salty, the croutons were stale, the lettuce was dry & wilted! The cucomber & tomatoes were the only things fresh! I called them and returned it the next day and they didnt want to return my money. They wanted to make me another salad. I have a problem with giving someone a second chance at something that shouldve done right the first time! I couldnt believe they didnt want to return my money! But after insisting they finally gave it back! ITS those kind of customer service tactics that WILL cause me to NEVER come to Culvers again! AND Ill tell everyone i know about my experience! Just one customer & word of mouth can hurt a business more than you know. What happened to the customer is always right. THATS the time i came up in! I certainly miss those times!
Our party of 4 arrived at 9:55pm and was told the dining room was closing so we had to order through the drive-up. Not a big deal as the drive through was empty. I said to the order taker that I have THREE seperate orders. I was then told that I could only do up to TWO in the drive-up and that for the third order I would need to DRIVE AROUND AGAIN to place the final order. I said that is NOT acceptable and asked for the manager. The young lady asked me to pull to the window and the manager would be with me shortly. This entire exchange took approx 5-7 mins. At which time the manager did apologize and take our order. This entire time NO OTHER CARS WERE IN THE DRIVE UP!!!! I was made to feel like they were doing me a FAVOR by taking my order! No!!!!! Your policy and CS sucked! We should have been allowed to place our orders in-store we were there BEFORE 10pm when your dining room closes (according to the time on window). Secondly, I could understand not doing several multiple orders if there was a long line but that was definitely not the case! My first and LAST time at this location!
My husband and I go there at least 4 days out of the week..Every time we go the food is always consistent!! Very good I order the same way, great size tocos, very filling..the meat is excellent, some other places have lots of gristle & fat in the meat. But Barritto Stations meat is perfect NO FAT OR GRISTLE!! I love it!! 10 *s from us!!!
Last month, I called and spoke with the manager Sara, at the Culver’s location in Matteson Illinois. I specifically asked her if she would accept a BOGO Culver’s coupon from a different Culver’s location. She promised me that it would not be a problem, and to just mention her name if anyone gives me a hard time. So I wrote her name on the back of the coupon, so I wouldn’t forget. Tonight, I drove 20 minutes to the Matteson location and then waited another 20 minutes in the drive thru line. When I approached the window to pay for our 2 hot fudge sundae’s, they told me that I couldn’t use the coupon. I then asked if the manager Sara was working tonight, and they said yes, and went to get her. I reminded Sara that we spoke on the phone and and that she already pre-approved this coupon. She went on to tell me that she is unable to accept this coupon anymore. My wife and I, were very upset, because we wasted an hour of our time. 20 minutes driving there, 20 minutes in the drive thru line, and then another 20 minutes driving back home. Sara displayed very poor customer service and manager skills. We will never go back to that location again. 👎🏼👎🏼

The unique worker Caleb who bounces around from location to location (Homewood-Matteson) is a really cool and & down to earth worker! I always enjoy coming to this location for great food and fast customer service! Today was extra special today tho because Caleb was there!!! He told us a story of how the owner converted from atheist to Christianity 8 years ago... how dope is that!!! 5 starsThis 1 of the best fast food chains in the south suburbs of Matteson. They care about their time clock when waiting through a drive through and dont keep you waiting long for fresh hot food. I would reccomend this establishment to anyone who was looking for great food on the go!
Went through drive thru and ordered a concrete mixer with flavor of the day and add MMs and brownies. Asked for the total and was told they were not as cash register and to pull up for total. Pulled up and lady at window looks at me and says hello. I said hello then she just starred at me. I said shouldnt you tell me the total for my order? She said I never gave an order? She took order again and I paid. Was then given wrong mixer. They brought to back and 5 minutes later brought another. When got home mixer waa wrong again.......Crew working there need training.....Also was never given a receipt and was never offered one. 1-20-19 @ 8pm approximately
Tia is Culvers Superwoman!! What a great ambassador to have. Shes rarely still, always greeting customers with a warm smile and a can I get you anything? And by the way, we really like the strawberry sundaes, walleye fish and hamburgers are pretty good too. My favorite Culvers is on Cicero in Matteson.💚❤️💛🧡

2022-06-28Culvers in Matteson is Awesome! Lets start from the top why I gave it a 5 Star rating. Im one of the top business reviewers in Chicago when it comes to reviewing businesses on Google. This Culvers owner is what separates this location from the others Ive went to. She is amazingly pleasant. She is grooming her employees to run the business just like she runs it. She cares about her customers and employees and it radiates throughout this location. This location is giving back to the community and thats a game changer before I even start talking about how delicious the food is. This is the location you want to visit! You can eat inside and outside. The burgers and spicy chicken sandwiches are delicious and that Strawberry cooler is everything!

2022-06-13This was by far the best Culvers that I have ever been to in my life and I have been in a lot of them. The restrooms were immaculately clean. The service was very good. The quality of food and presentation incredibly good. I wish qll Culvers were like this. Unfortunately theyre not but this one. If I could give it 500 stars I would. Even the parking lot in landscaping were perfect.

2021-09-20Just visited today. We ordered a cheeseburger, cheese curds with a side of ranch, and cheese fries. When we got to the order window the guy who took our order repeated to us incorrectly. He thought we got chilli cheese fries. We told him no we got cheese fries. He said ok. CLEARLY he did nothing to correct the mistake. We were still charged for the chilli cheese fries and given them. Then our cheese curds taste old and DISGUSTING. They literally taste like paper. They were cold and unappetizing. We are on our way to movie reservations now we can’t even eat because our order is totally WRONG. On top of that we call the restaurant and they want us to bring the pod all the way back. Just GHETTO. I’m so over this Culver’s location. We will not be back. Best believe y’all will get this nasty food back tomorrow.

2021-10-29Just recently visited this establishment on Cicero ave in Matteson, absolutely the best staff Ive seen in awhile they were all in place helping the customer, greeting us as we walked in that made me feel welcome. Congratulations too the young man for taking my order on his first day stay encourage, also a thanks goes too the young (ladies) coworkers for assisting the young with taking the order.Team work....💯

2021-07-04Gotta love the burger with everything and my large shake pretty sure its a medium but I paid for a large. Didnt get the correct order of food but the right ice cream. When finally get someone to try and the correct the problem it took 30 minutes to get the remade food to still not be right. Didnt remake the ice cream so it was melted by the time I got home. Worst service Ive every gotten at a Culvers!

2022-07-13I had a terrible experience at this Culver’s today , there is a child that is acting as manager of this establishment by the name of TY she was not only disrespectful to me but also my son . I purchased my son a kids meal and we ate inside so he wanted to wait till he was done eating to get his ice cream that came with his kids meal , upon finishing the meal I sent him up to the counter to get his ice cream with receipt and he was refused his ice cream . I went back up there with him confused as to why he could not get his ice cream seeing as the person that rang us up told me all he needed to do was to come back up there with receipt to retrieve his ice cream. The manager then rudely said “we don’t give away free food he needs to bring his kids meal bag up as proof” .Now we come here all the time and do this all time only needing the receipt however this time it was an issue and the manager insinuated that me and my son were trying to steal ice cream that the receipt clearly stated I paid for .At that point I was deeply disturbed by the mangers behavior and action and noted to her that I would be filing a compliant with cooperate she then laughed in my face and said her mother owned the Culver’s , again being very rude . Needless to say I will still be filing my compliant tmrw morning when cooperate opens.

2022-05-22I’ve been a Culver’s customer for at least 10years now. This Culver’s in Matteson Illinois at 20716 S Cicero is by far the worst. I’ve given them at least three different occasions to straighten things. As of now I will not be going back there again. The food is cold all the time now. The concrete mixers are soupy. Inside the restaurant they are all talking and not customer oriented. Culver’s motto “Everyone who comes to Culver’s leaves happy” not so. It’s a shame a business of this statue has to be subject to workers with this type of behavior.

2022-06-27Food was hot and fresh all the way down to the veggie garnishes🙌🏾 the only thing was the wait (Which was worth it!) and they didnt put any ketchup in my bag lol Other than that this location is great!
