Cracker Barrel Old Country Store in other cities:
For Mother’s Day this year , I took advantage of having 2 of crackle barrels southern fried chicken meals to go for the special occasion . I had scheduled it to be ready at 130pm, it being late by 25 minutes made the “we eat at 2:00pm” Late . Arriving home I realize I did not in fact get all of my sides . We were missing 13 out of 20 biscuits !!! Now, mind you the order was 25 minutes late for pick up…in this extra time I figured that they were ensuring all items were present .For some the biscuit makes the meal complete and most went without due to their lack of double-checking to make sure all was accounted for.I was serving 15 people that day . When I called and talked to the Mgr that was on shift at the time his answer was me , driving back out 20 minutes to the store location due to their mistake , on Mother’s Day at the time of gathering to eat with my loved ones !Not once was I offered any other incentives to make the special day right . I as a mother really felt a type of way about that. I spent $100 and feel like I would’ve been better off and satisfied going to KFC or Popeyes . Will not patronize this location again.
Love the food here. Not a big fan of the staff trying to interact with my children putting toys in their hands and telling them how cute they would be if Dad buys them whatever they are peddling that day. Dont make parent feel bad about not buying things, very unprofessional.
Good food . Friendly service and great store. Prices averaged from $11-13 per person. The staff here on April 28th, 2021 were fantastic. I was looking for butterscotch beer soda and she went right into the back and grabbed it for us. We didnt have to ask anyone for anything. We were acknowledged right away . The sodas are $1.79 a piece in case you are thinking of getting any. They taste amazing . Our son enjoys them and its a nice little surprise whenever we can get them for him. These are non alcoholic also.
Loved the chicken pot pie! It definitely, comfort food ❤❤❤😷😷😷. Baked to perfection, just look, golden baked, crispy, and full of vegetables, juicy, and lots of chicken chunks! Served right out of the oven! I need to give the waitress credit as well. So attentive to our needs. I didnt even had to ask for my drink refill! Shell bring us drinks right away! Then, the ladies working at the store! Showed me the current sales, and loved the Christmas ornaments! Theyve them available now!
The place is at a convenient distance from the University of Illinois campus. The food was average. Although you would expect fried chicken to be salty, it was saltier than usual. The thickness of the breading of the chicken was inconsistent and too thick in some areas. Usually, I like Cracker Barrel restaurants for breakfast, but I dont think that I will repeat the experience for dinner.
Our waitress, think her name was Kellen, was incredible! Very, very good service. The food was delicious; I got a steak that was overdone and just mentioned that it was a little overdone and she offered to get me a new steak. I had a couple bites of the well done steak and it still tasted good even though it wasnt cooked the way I like. That waitress though was so damn good. The hostess was super friendly too
We have been traveling all day netween planes and driving. Stopped to sit for dinner finally. Stood for quite some time before being seated by an older woman with attitude. Finally get a table only to be told the website hasnt been updated and they close an hour earlier than the website says AND we can only have a to go order because they have a catering thing theyre working on and a big table seated. The server was very apologetic, but what kind of manager allows that to be acceptable??
Im not going to beg some place to take my money i called 3 times thinking the first two were just fluke and i waited on hold for a combined time of almost 15 minutes like come on people thats ridiculous. Anyone in any industry would be in big trouble if thats how you treat a paying return loyal customerThanks
Ordered a classic breakfast eggs and bacon but the bacon didnt come out with the eggs and when they did my crispy bacon was barely cooked and my eggs were cold. Had to wait while they recooked everything. The gravey with the biscuits and gravey way very boring. The biscuits where good though.
First time there. My husband ordered a breakfast meal with pancakes but the sever brought french toast instead we didnt want to be a pain so we just accepted them. I had a steak with mac n cheese the hash brown casserole (ive heard people rave about) and broccoli. The mac n cheese and hash brown casserole were ok but they were barely warm and cold in the middle. The broccoli was fine the steak was tough but ok. Both meals were very under whelming.my opinion it seemed like they microwave the hashbrown casserole and mac n cheese and they need to stir it and tack on a another half a minute . Just an ok place to eat nothing really to bring me back.
Went for breakfast it was exceptional. Wish someone would direct the customers out of the walkway when youre trying to pay one sides people waiting on a table the other sides people waiting in line to pay and then there was yet a second line lined up behind one of the registers just seem like it would be super easy to fix that. Service was top notch friendly fast efficient.
It was busy, but we came in amidst it winding down. They couldnt decide who was going to be taking care of us and neither server seemed interested in if we had been there before or making any suggestions. I was going to order soup but didnt know what it was for the day and since the server didnt care to mention it I didnt care to ask. The food was amazing and the gift shop is always a delight to walk through. Service could use some tightening up so they at least pretend to care and offer up soup of the day and maybe attempt up-selling. Might get check average higher and make people feel more welcome instead of rushed and pushed aside.
Beverly was very sweet and helpful in the store. Im sorry I cant recall our servers name, but she was great, too. Always good food and relaxing meal. My daughter and I have so many wonderful memories of going there with my grandpa that recently passed. Always nice to play the peg game on the table and talk about the way we always played with him when we were little. 🙂
Sunday January 2022 5 02p.Out of soupOut of dumplins for thr chicken and dumplings. Two main staples. Could be out of more choices. But I fell back to another staple of eggs. So the server hasnt been back a 3rd time to tell us they are out of eggs. Tip for management. If your out of something communicate this with your servers. So they can tell customers from the beginning.Tip for
Went here for brunch with my mother. Food wasnt bad, could be hotter when served. My serlion steak wasnt medium rare. More like rare, had it taken back an cooked longer was better. Service from our table server was good but she needs to not be so nervous. Could sense her anxiety was cooking up.
Staff was nice, but my order got lost somewhere between ordering it online for pickup and actually cooking the food. When I arrived the staff called back to ask where my food was and they had not started it even though I was supposed to picked it ip 5 minutes ago. So I stood around and stared at the store staff for 25 minutes. Food was hot but not as plentiful as I am used to getting from Cracker Barrel.Would not recommend this location....avoid if possible.
Very Disappointed at my last visit.Menu is about half of what it used to be.I loved Cracker Barrel. Now not so much.Probably wont return for another disappointment. Too bad it turned out this way. Most likely caused by the lack of supplies this country is going through. Thanks for THAT Biden admin.
Outstanding experience tonight. We ordered carry out. The girl answering the phone was as sweet as could be. The food portions were so huge, we already have dinners for tomorrow, lol!! The food was superb and plated/boxed beautifully. Job very well done to everyone! My compliments to the entire team.
Even though they were very busy, we were able to get a group of 6 in within 15 minutes, as always with Cracker Barrel, they have many choices to chose from. I had the lemon pepper trout and everyone else had a variety of items, our food was excellent and the service from Amanda H. was exceptional, we love shopping before and after for a few neat items that you can only find here. We love Cracker Barrel
Good home-cooked style food, good service and, the food came quickly. We always enjoy the store while waiting for a table. They have a great selection of different candies and sodas, also unique toys; and, the wait for a table was reasonable. But, be ready to wait a while if you go on a weekend.
Tonight was the first time that Ive had a bad experience with Crackel Barrel. My family has been going since forever. They have changed things. Chicken fried chicken is now 2 pieces of chicken and horrible. The pancakes were small. The place barely had any people and we waited 1hr 1/2. Like I said this place is one of our favorites never had a bad meal until tonight.
First our server was wonderful. Problem #1 was they had side door open for people who wanted to dine outside , no one did it was 93 degrees out , so the heat came thru open door. We were sweating trying to enjoy a meal for Fathers day. Then both bathrooms were in need of cleaning a deep clean. When my dad spoke to the girl at the door about it she literally rolled her eyes. Worst experience at a Cracker Barrel Ive had.
Cracker barrel is a restaurant that hasnt changed much in several years. And that is a good thing because their food is always awesome. Youve got to try the chicken and dumplings. Almost like Mom used to make! The service and staff is always excellent also. I dont go here often but when I do it is an enjoyable experience. And by the way that old country store which you walk into when you enter the restaurant is really cool and they have lots of candy also. I always walk out with a little something something!
Food was ok service was horrific. Not once were we offered refills. The waitress of our section didnt even wait on us. Another waitress saw that we were still.waiting and offered to take our order. We only saw her when she took our order and brought us out food after a 40 minute wait. They were completely staffed so that wasnt the issue. When I said something to another employee they blew me off.. The cashier didnt listen to anything I said. Would have been better off going to mcdonalds.
I respect that many restaurants, including this one, are short handed. I would still ask the bussers pay closer attention to detail when cleaning tables and make sure the chairs are cleaned too. I also found the food to not be the high quality it used to be before the pandemic.
After giving our order, my wife and I watched three tables set after us all receive their orders before us. Addressed the issue with our server. Many assurances came from him and the manager. Two more orders came out before ours. When our food did arrive, my daughters meals were wrong.Compd drinks didnt satisfy the loooong wait time and inexperience of our server.
We have visited this Cracker Barrel many times in the past but this visit was so disappointing. Told there was a 35 minute wait for a table which was ok. 50 minutes later we had to ask what happened to our seating. Told we still had 5 others in front of us waiting. Finally seated and waitress took our breakfast order (4 people at our table). After 35 minutes of waiting she came back to apologize for the delay; she had no idea what the problem was but would send the manager over. Another 10 minutes goes by and still no food. Finally after another 10 minute wait food arrived. Never saw a manager anywhere in the building. How hard is it to fry eggs, bacon, sausage, etc. Nothing complicated or special order. Not a large crowd of people either.
Had a great night at Cracker Barrel. Our waitress was awesome and did everything right. I Usually get fish but 2 weeks ago I decided to try the roast beef OMGOODNESS do tender. Was wanting to go back today for that. Fabulous, of course Im the only one who eats beans at our house so I got a bowl of pintos for 2 lunches this week.
Unfortunately we didnt arrive until 7:30p...but it took almost an hour before got our food. When the food came out it was fair at best. The biscuits/corn muffins were cold and the steak/chicken fried steak was dry and also room temperature. This was the worst experience I have ever had at Craker Barrel.
Great food, wonderful waitress, I had to drive for an HOUR to get to a cracker barrel to be able to go inside and eat. It was worth it. I will do it next week end again. We always loved cracker barrel. We wished we didnt have to drive so far to be able to eat inside.
They said our table was ready, but it wasnt. They claimed the table was being cleaned, but it wasnt. 25 minutes later, we were seated. There were 5 groups being told the same thing. Point blank, they were lying, and we could all see what was going on. Would prefer to just be told the truth. Waiter (John) was great!
Overall as good as it usually is but I was very upset that I could not replace grits with any sort of side and the waitress was somewhat rude about it. Almost all of the breakfast plates come with grits and I can’t imagine the food waste. I will continue to eat here but it’s a little weird it’s not an option.
Definitely glad we were out of towners and we will not have to experience this location again. We came in on a Sunday afternoon (which is going to be packed) the hostess quoted us 15 minutes but called us within 10 to let us know that they were going to have us sit at a checkerboard table with rocking chairs till there was a table available. It was just my husband and I so we did not mind waiting and I’m 7 months pregnant so it was nice to sit down. They kept us there our whole meal 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️. We definitely did not feel like valued customers, more like they just wanted us to get off the list so they could focus on bigger parties. We probably would not have been as upset if we got a choice in the matter. Our server knew we were gonna be there the whole time. It definitely was not comfortable or adequate for eating and we were in an area that felt in the way. Who appeared to be the manager saw this the whole time and thought it was okay. Guess if we were apart of the older generation or if we had more people with us we would be accommodated better. The food was pretty good but the service ruined the experience.
It was an underwhelming experience. Restaurant was not busy, but service was sluggish. My order was incorrect, but I was so hungry when it got there i just ate what they put in front of me. Usually Cracker Barrel is a welcome beacon, but this was a disappointment to say the least.
We arrived had to wait 5 min just to get seated. No ahead of us. Manager was called by staff to seat us. It was like he.had better things to do than to seat us. Food was cold to the touch portions were small compared to other time times we have been there. JUST NOT GOOD SERVICE.
Its been a while since Ive been able to visit a Cracker Barrel location and its just as AWSOME as I remember! The staff was extremely friendly, restruant was clean, great food and of course all the wonderful shop finds. I wish I got her name, but the waitress was very patient (dining with my 1yr old) and very attentive to all her tables👍 were just passing thru, but will definitely be back in the morning for breakfast before getting back in the road. GREAT JOB!!!
We stopped here for lunch on our way through. We waited an hour for our food only to have a manager come out and tell us that he had just gotten there and that none of this was his fault. I explained that we had been waiting for over an hour. And he seemed to be annoyed with us. The food was good when it did come out and I felt bad for our server. I do very much appreciate that they covered our meal but the manager’s attitude is what gives this Cracker Barrel 2 stars.
Like always had a good time with family there at Cracker Barrel. The food was delicious just a few properties with it my biscuits where a little dry so they must of been old ones. The hash browns casserole was Cold I got the Southern Fred Chicken and it was delicious. Cant wait to go back. I definitely will ask for fresh biscuits tho 😋. Its a great place to go to..
Saturday afternoon, not busy at all, plenty of waiters and still had issues. Food was warm at best. Had to ask for silverware twice since host didn’t think to bring it out. Gravy tasted old. Salad came out WITH the food so I never took a bite. Just very sad since I love this place so much.
The food was delicious, but we waited over 45 minutes after ordering. Our order was apparently lost by the kitchen. Our server was very apologetic. It would have been more appropriate for the manager to come handle the situation instead of sending her to be the messenger.
I came for dinner with family and had the worst service I have ever had anywhere. We started with a female waitress. She passed us off to a male waiter and he couldnt be bothered to bring anything we asked for in a timely manner. A different waiter brought out a salad for my brother in law and no silverware. We had to go tell in the kitchen to get it. When the food finally came out. It wasnt right. There wasnt extra gravy like was asked. There wasnt any extra ranch dressing like asked for. This was a totally the worst experience I have ever had at cracker barrel.if I could have given it 0 stars I would have
The food was cold, the sausage was burnt and the hash browns look old. We did not tell until we were leaving because it had already taken to long to get our food. We needed to get going. This was the worst service we have ever had. We had to track down our waitress to get our bill. We eat at cracker barrel all the time. We will not go back to this location.
Id like to give it a 4.8, actually. We dined on a Sunday evening and were surprised to find the large parking lot nearly full. They were really busy with people milling about and the dining room full. That says a lot about how good it is. Still, our 20-minute wait was not unpleasant. We sat outdoors on the extensive covered porch, in their signature rockers, enjoying the cool autumn night & well landscaped surroundings, and were able to hear clearly when our table was announced. We quickly made our way through the lovely gift shop, were seated easily and served promptly. Theres a great home-style lunch and dinner menu. You can also enjoy a country breakfast at any time of day, and portions are generous. Among many traditional favorites, I discovered a small section of tasty entrees and sides for the more health conscious among us as well. Staff were stretched a little thin by the bumper crowd, but they were very pleasant and attentive. We experienced a few minor hiccups in food delivery which were handled graciously and quickly. Everyone in our party enjoyed their different selections. I particularly liked the lower calorie smoky southern spiced chicken with an apple/cranberry chutney. If you go during winter, youll enjoy the flickering light and warmth of the large dining room fireplace, too. The only difficult consideration I might mention is that the noise level in the big lodge-like dining area can make conversation difficult, especially for anyone who wears hearing aids. They might benefit from installation of hidden acoustic damping material in the vaulted ceiling. Other than that, Cracker Barrel is an exceptionally affordable retreat from city lights and distractions. Its nice to sit for a bit where lifes pace slows down a step and people are warm and friendly, reminiscent of a gentler time, so relaxing and soothing. Not bad for finding affordable gifts for many of the children and adults on your list as well! Its well worth stopping in, again and again.
As always, the food was delicious, atmosphere casual and staff was friendly. Sometimes you get a server who is extra special. Today that super server was Sarah. She made sure coffee was always topped off, gave us all the time we needed to order, double checked our order, when one of our entrees was held up in the kitchen she offered to bring a complimentary entree or side to snack on until the guests requested entree was available. Sarah noted the ample leftovers, asked if wed like to go containers and brought enough. When she saw a present wrapping she asked what was being celebrated and informed the guest that her dessert would be free as Cracker Barrels birthday gift. She was an outstanding server. Thank you Sarah!
We had a short wait for dinner. The Friday fish was good. They changed their batter and it is very good. The cod was not over cooked and very meaty. The mashed potatoes was hot and tasty. The steamed broccoli was done just right. Service was good. My husband had the meatloaf. Large slice. Very good.
Went peak time Saturday evening and wait time was minimal. After I was seated for awhile I saw why. Everyone was working efficiently and as a team. Moving diners in and out smoothly while never making anyone feel rushed. Excellent service (Candice) and as always good food reasonably priced. I had two managers visit our table checking on things. I credit management for all of this. Good job!
We had a really good meal here. The food was surprisingly hot and fresh despite the busy dining room. Our server was very friendly and helpful. We di6dnt wait long at all to be seated, order, and receive our food. It was a nice change for a busy chain on the highway.
Very good service. Food was given to us very quick. Always checking on us, the waitress. Managements walking around making sure will taking care of. Love all the different candies you can buy. And the price was very reasonable for our lunch. Recommend anyone, children or older to go and enjoy an evening out at Cracker Barrel. We hope to go back in the near future when the Lord provides. Thank you everybody at Cracker Barrel . Your friends Dave and Bonnie
We ordered takeout two Country Fried Chicken dinners and they only had one meal to sell. Instead we received Chicken and Dumplings. The latter should have been named Dumplings and a Bit of Chicken. It was our first time eating Cracker Barrel in 20+ years. We will never eat there again. This particular experience included ignorant staff and terrible food. AVOID
The food was good but the waitress wasnt. She didnt offer us any of the regularly expected attention, she left us for an unusual long time after handing us menus. Later again she didnt return so long that another waitress brought me a container. That tells me that its just not my opinion but her lack of concern was obvious.
Wonderful restaurant, the food is amazing, prices very cheap especially lunch time, clean ,friendly good service, love this place and the store out front all the beautiful things its a place everyone needs to stop at. Try any Cracker Barrel restaurant you will not be disappointed
I enjoyed thoroughly, my delicious breakfast of Mommas pancakes, with fried eggs and bacon (eggs and bacon are included). Our waitress provided very good service, in a friendly manner. The coffee was good too. I plan to go back and try their other breakfast/lunch/dinner menu items.
I absolutely love Cracker Barrel Old Country Store and my 2 granddaughters do as well. We love the big fireplace and atmosphere. We have always been promptly greeted and with a smile. The food is delicious and service is great. After lunch/dinner, we always spend the next hour looking around the store. Theres so many wonderful things we never leave empty-handed. If I could give 10 stars I certainly would. 😊
I really like this food change of stores. The service is good, the food delicious, the prices reasonable. One cant ask for more...The new item of fried chicken is wonderful. When we were dining at our Cracker Barrel almost everyone was ordering the fried chicken, and it is delicious. They never disappoint us.😁
Service was very fast and friendly. Or waitress was very nice and made sure our drinks stayed full. Our food came out hot and just how we ordered it. Prices are reasonable and after eating checking out the store is nice. If your looking for good homecooked food this is a place you want to try.
Usually this is the best place! The food is good, the service is good and the prices are decent. USUALLY. Tonight however was a totally different experience. Our service was soooooooooooo slow!! We waited and waited and waited. Finally got drinks and then waited another 40 minutes for food! 2 people on our ticket. Not like it was complicated. Didnt receive updates on progress while we were waiting. No one apologized or even acknowledged the long wait. And then we made the mistake of ordering dessert. Waited another 20 minutes. This is not a typical experience at cracker barrel. I hope this isnt typical for this location.
This is a happy place, all cheerful and fun to look around while waiting for a table-a really popular place. My only wish is that they would offer a better breakfast sausage. The rest of the food is high quality and if something doesnt go right, they will credit your bill. What more could you ask for?
I figured I would give them another chance because last t in me we waited over an hour for our food and it was cold. Well today it was still slow! There was not that many people in there. I had to get up and ask for drink refills, and any condiments I needed the waitress hardly came around. The service is not as good as it used to be . Seems like it is going downhill and price is rising.
I would put less than one star but that is not an option. It started out fine. We ordered. We were starving. Then it took forever. People that were seated around us after we had ordered were getting their food. No food. No waitress. Empty glasses. She walked by but never looked at our table. Then the food arrives. Delivered by someone other than our waitress. We asked the person for more drinks. And I had to ask for the special cranberry chutney from the meal I ordered from the special cranberry chutney menu. Weird since the whole point was the special cranberry chutney. My husband ordered the special cinnamon biscuit breakfast from the special menu and was missing the special cinnamon biscuit. And his sausage was also missing. The eggs were not cooked to order. The drinks finally came but she poured tea in my water and water in his tea. So we waited longer for fixed drinks. The waitress never returned. My husband would of liked some jelly but no waitress. She walked by but never looked or stopped. Finally the manager came by. I said worst service ever. Mess up after mess up. Needless to say the manager didnt make us pay which doesnt always help make the experience any better. And we will probably not return to cracker barrel any time soon if ever.
The food is delicious! They also give you very generous portion sizes so it would be incredibly deficult to not leave satisfied and stuffed and thanks to a big menu even the most picky eater will be happy. Also the store you go through to get to your table is awesome! So much to browse through and they have items that you dont see at very many stores also. Its a great place for a family meal or for any occasion.
Food was the usual good food. Sad that is the highlight of the entire visit. Service was below expectation. Got the wrong check to begin with, and checking out was worse. The credit card machine wasnt processing cards correctly.I called my card company to see if it was on there end. Transaction never made it to them. Called back to talk to a manger after paying with another card that promptly went through and I was on speaker phone being asked if I was checking my schedule. I work in customer service. When is it ok to answer a management call on speaker phone???I wont be visiting this Cracker Barrel again. They need to get it together. And the person greeting at the door needs to allow you room to get in and out of the door and NOT gab with friends thoroughly blocking any exit or entry.

2021-11-10Havent been here in a while and it was okay. They have mimosas on the menu now, which is a nice change. The amount you get is different from before, but overall it was still good.

2022-03-29Never did curbside and never will again. Night off and just wanted a good hot meal. The waitress brought my food to the car and told me they were out of baked potato so she replaced it with a yam because it was an up charge and wanted me to get my money worth. Nice thought and she was very sweet. I would have rather been asked because my son doesnt like yams and Mac and cheese would have been great. Keep the up charge and he can have something he would eat. Oh well no big deal. I get home to see my son was missing his entire meal. I called and was told they were also out of the fried chicken and someone should have told me. So he ordered a burger that I had to drive back for. The manager was also very nice and gave him a little cup of cobbler for the inconvenience. So now an hour later I get to eat my meal. Trout that was so cold, dry and nasty I tossed it in the trash. I have had the trout a few times and Im sure it would have been delicious if I didnt have to make a second trip. In the end my side salad was my dinner and it was good. The people were very nice but dinner was not. Im not a fast food person but would have been better off doing so. Paid to much for that kind of outcome. Im not even going to look to see the price difference because it will only make me mad but Im sure the chicken dinner I paid for was more then the cheese burger he ended up with. Next time McDonalds will be just fine.

2022-03-30Went to the Springfield Cracker Barrel with my wife for dinner tonight. So we were so excited on the way there. To our surprise the food was very unpleasant. We ordered this appetizer called squash casserole and boy did it look so good on the menu. We payed(well almost payed $3.20) for a bite size piece of squash with a whole bunch of bread crumbs in this tiny bowl. Thankfully our waitress took the squash of the bill due to my complaint. The rest of our dishes had the poorest presentation Ive ever seen. Then there was the new server who dropped this customers soda only to have it hit the ground and splash the whole side of me. And where is the waitress when your all 9ut of drinks? Do they not offer free glasses of water with a meal anymore? This Cracker Barrel has really taken a turn for the worst. I will not rush to go eat there anymore. Pretty sad what this place has turned into. $50.00 was my total tonight and Im disgusted. How hard we people work for our money to get this type of service in return, very sad Cracker Barrel!

2022-07-11I always enjoy the Cracker Barrel, especially for the Chicken and Dumplings! I also like to shop for the unique items they always have for sale, and the selection of the old time candies, soda pop! The staff are always friendly and courteous and helpful, and Ive always had a wonderful experience. They absolutely deserve 5 stars!!

2022-07-12Really nice place! Efficient operation with staff using electronic tablets to place orders, tasty meals and fast service! If your bus/RV is pushing 50, consider parking length-wise in distant parking spots.

2022-06-13It started off Rocky, as we sat waiting for service, but quickly turned around thanks to the manager Liz, 4star server Elena and Rose.who once aware of our lack of service became very attentive checking at the table often and making sure our food was hot and fresh. Thank you for turning a bad customer service situation into an excellent one.
